If you didn’t mind could you maybe talk about what demigods look like/cryptid demigod hcs

I’m probably wording this wrong but I saw a tiktok saying that kids of gods would have cryptid features for example children of hades or underworld gods in general having vampire features, children of sea gods having scales or webbed fingers, maybe children of Zeus or wind gods get feathers,children of Athena can do 360 head turns like owls, Hecate kids having a visible functioning third eye on their forehead that shows them spirits(and probably vampire features Hecate does do necromancy stuff), Hermes kids getting winged feet, children of Apollo having glowing eyes (I think this is somewhat canon) tbh the list goes on

It’s reasonable to think that demigods look somewhat uncanny they are literally half god and it would probably be covered by the mist to mortals anyways

Even if you don’t wanna do a full series on this I’m just curious to ur opinion on it and ideas you have for other gods

Alright, here’s my own take if we’re going off the Greek demigods having uncanny features:

Zeus: The children could have feathers but also considering them being like the air and clouds. Like their presence can be loud and forceful like high winds or practically invisible like the air around us, or how they seem to float as they walk, their feet never really touching the ground. However, when they get angry, their form shifts and they become this angry grey, stormy cloud, crackling lightning and thunder, their voice distorting like booming thunder as their presence whips around you and threatens to tear you apart. Their hands when they touch you spark and electrocute you, and you can smell and taste the ozone around them. They look down at you with eyes like an eagle.

Poseidon: I would wager they have a sleek appearance to them and everything seems okay. So maybe when they smile, you see some unnervingly sharp teeth like a shark. However, when they enter the water, your eyes can't tell if the water is distorting their shape, but you swear you see something else that makes you remember that we know more about space, then our own ocean; making you both amazed and afraid at what the abyss contain…or don't allow you to see because they won't let you resurface at all.

Hecate: While a third eye is cool, that’s more of an Asian mythological feature (I.e. Hindu, Buddhism, Taoism), however, I can see them having three faces that they can change according to that face’s personality, or true to Hecate’s mythos, where Hecate changes forms from a young girl to an oldy lady according to the time of day, their children faces/personality changes according to the time of day. In a moment of peak battle or power, all three faces appear all at once. The Vampiric features also work as well in this case, but you could also go with something ghoulish or ghostly. From the distance, their appearance to you is half invisible like a rolling mist. Another trait that a child of Hecate could have is serpentine qualities, relating them to Lamia, who has a connection with the goddess. So imagine a child of Hecate with skins with the scales of a snake, a forked tongue, and limbs that move too fluidly in a way that makes you think they don’t have normal human bones.

Hades: we already see references to it with Nico, but the ghostly, pale appearance would be made more true. Representing the domain of death, they would have cold skin, their eyes are dark like shadows, Or part of the Riches of his domain, you'll see how their eyes twinkle like jewels gold or their teeth, nails shimmer like diamonds. They seem alive to you but if you watch them carefully, you notice their skins shimmer as if their see-through or made out of precious gems, but then you realise, you really haven't seen them breath. Not in the way of the living. Their chests don't move unconscious and almost seem forced, like they have to remember to move their chests up and down. In fact you've seen them stand way too still, with chests freezing yet they're still moving.

Athena: I think her kids not only can turn their necks pretty much around like an owl, but have you considered they really have good hearing, and moving practically invisible? There's a reason why owls are considered the silent hunters/death. Their grey eyes looking wide and bright at you, but as you move, you notice their eyes following you as if you're a mouse moving among a field. Their heads and neck tilting just so that makes your own neck feel severed.

Demeter: Ever heard the metaphor “Hair like corn”? Each child of demeter has qualities that reflect nature, crops, or anything to do with plant life. When they laugh, it either sounds like branches brushing against each other from the wind or the sound of wood creaking and cracking as the bark and flesh of the wood breaking. Or when you see a child of Demeter fight during the wars and you see their blood or flesh fly. When it lands on the ground, you watch as it sprouts into another version of themselves like fungi; you realise if the child of Demeter you've been talking to is the original or just another body of them with the same mind and soul?

Aphrodite: We know Aphrodite's appearance will reflect what the person's ideal version of beauty or who they love is reflected off her. Now imagine her kids having the same thing, their faces resembling everyone's love, preference, their ideal features (button nose, thin lips), but when you come to actually describing their entire face, you suddenly can't. You have an idea of their features but they're in fragments. You try to piece them together and form their face but you can't. You can't remember their faces at all. You start to think you don't know their face at all, you never have, and they're just a mirage in your mind. You don't remember their faces because you can't. You've never seen them, have you?

Ares: Out of them all, they seem the most human-like. War and violence is a part of human nature and it's reflected in them. They hold qualities that make you sweat and stiffen, the way they look at you makes you want to either fight or flight. A side of humanity you don't want to admit that is in our nature and life.

Dionysus: There's a quality to them that seems a bit off to you, but you can't help getting drawn in. Their eyes are maniacal and don't stare in the eyes too long or you find your mind drifting off. Or how they move like a jaguar, their appearance alluring but very deadly as they stalk towards you. Nonetheless, your eyes will deceive you as you try to look at them, their forms not exactly what they seem to be and if you try to dissect what they look like, you’re not going to like what you see.

Hermes: Their feet may have wings that allow them to fly and go about speeds. However, much like the Aphrodite children, you see the faces of a traveller. They've been to places and seen things you haven't seen before, but when you try to think of their faces, you can't remember. They made an impression on you yes, but when you try to remember their features, you can't really remember and they are only a figment in your memory. Yet you can’t forget them or their sweet, honey layered and silver tongued words, even if you know its a lie, you find yourself believing in them and take their words as the truth.

Hephaestus: The children of Hephaestus’ eyes burn and glow with hot coals, flaming hot. Their features are almost sculpted like marble statues, both soft yet rigid. Their veins underneath their skin have a thin glow of heat like the veins of a volcano as they bend the physical shape of something in something else. A limb of theirs moves rather rigidly, like it was a limp but as it moves, you are reminded of the joint of a machine, moving in a certain way that isn’t like a muscle. When their skin is reflecting the heat of the forge, you are reminded that their skin looks like stone or metal.

Apollo: We already know about the glowing eyes part, but I wanna say there’s a bit more to that. How light follows them, how they embody it. You can see them but you can’t stare directly at them for too long before your eyes start to burn like staring directly into a lightbulb. Their form seems to shimmer and bend with the light, before you realise you may not be able to touch them more than you can touch the sunlight. Then you also start to realise the shadows around them seem more darker, more of a void then you thought it could be, moving, swirling beneath their feet. As you take notice of the shadows behind them, how it seems to wrap around them like a second skin, the shadow then moves on its own, differently from it’s host, as it raises its finger over where the mouth should be, before you see it actually smile. You may not be able to touch the light and shadows, but it can certainly touch you, prying your darkest truths and secrets from your own shadow betraying you. You learn that the children of Apollo don’t naturally have shadows because they’re made out of light, so where is their darkness?

Going off a bit more of the whole concept though: It’s not the first time nor the last time someone who has those kinds of ideas as humans do. The only reason the Greek and Roman demigods have ‘human’ features is because of how the gods are perceived, where in Ancient Greek people believed the Gods looked like regular mortals, but were absolutely perfect in their appearance as they were above mortals and their features reflect peak perfection of our human appearance, and we cannot perceive their true form because it is outside of our mortal realm. I believe that’s why the gods turning into their true form is deadly to mortals for that reason.

So the greek/roman demigods would have the godly qualities to them, that are still mortal but just a little bit different, a little out of this world. We actually see Rick Riodan reference these features in the book like Percy’s Sea Green eyes or Thalia and Jason’s Electric Blue eyes. Those weren’t metaphors or similes. They just lean more towards beyond human then cryptid realm.

However, it wouldn’t be unusual to attach some non-human features to the gods as we constantly attach their symbols to them. Specifically the animal parts relating to the gods, it’s one of the reasons Egyptian gods are depicted with animal features; as the animal parts to represent their personalities or specific traits that were important to their purpose. For example, Anubis the God of Death is depicted with the head of a jackal as the animal was associated with death in ancient Egypt. So if these Egyptians gods had demigods, we can only assume they would have these features too.

I believe in the Riordan verse, there are the Mayan gods and the Mayan demigods, Godborns, are the opposite of their Greek/Roman counterparts where the Godborns have a sort of physical handicap, disability, or some medical or mental issue. This is because people believed the blood of humans and the supernaturals were never meant to be mixed.

So go have one with your ideas! Be wild! Test the realm between mortals and the supernatural.

My Lady Nyx

This is a more of an animated vision of who Lady Nyx is. I see her as having the same vibes as Morticia Addams. Very regal and elegant and sophisticated but completely unhinged. and her kid inherited this.

She'll invite them over for tea and the blend would have dried blood in it. The most prized stag blood for her children and something a little more...outsourced for herself.

When they meet for dinners, it's always an affair. Especially if guests are invited. They dress to the T's. A dark academic, vampiric dream of flowy blouses, pressed slacks, leather boots, expensive looking cloaks, glittering jewelry. Looking like a pintrest board. Once dinner is over and the guests have left they go outside to the back garden and the children dance in the moonlight to The Cure and The Cramps and Judas Priest and give offerings to Cousin Artemis for providing the mood lighting for the evening while their mother watches with a fond smile, tapping her long sharp nails on the arm of her chair to the beat.

Lady Nyx refers to her individual children as "my daughter" "my son" "my child" and when they are all together, "my dears" "my loves" "my little bats".

Her children will refer to her as "Lady Nyx" or "Lady Night" as an initial greeting around company but then will refer to her as "Lady Mother" or "Mother Night" for the rest of the meeting. When alone, they will just call her Mother.

Her palace in the underworld feels as though it is never ending. With high elaborate archways, spiraling marble/obsidian staircases, large balconies and terraces, big glass windows, hidden rooms, a giant library. A throne room, two dining rooms (one for personal use and one for guests), a family room, a garden big enough to have a hedge maze. the list goes on.

The garden is full of plants and vegetation that requires little to no natural light and they tend to be monstrous. They might have teeth or make growling noises. There are a few that purr if you pet their petals or roots. There is one tree in the middle of the maze that thrives off of sacrificial offerings and because of this, it has blood red leaves and a slight metallic smell. It also grows the most delicious fruit you will ever taste, but unless you are of the underworld, maybe don't eat them.

All of the children receive a crown when they are born that will shift and change based on the wearers taste. They are only made with the purest of metals and finest cut gems and jewels from Lord Hades himself.

Since her children are of the underworld, they tend to have an affinity for witchcraft because of their closeness to Lady Hecate. Because of this, they will usually hold ritual during the solstices, beltane, full moons, etc in honor of their Mother. To thank the universe and the realm for bringing the gods to this plane and for allowing their Mother to have and keep the powers she has. And for allowing those powers to pass on to their children.

They have wings that can be retracted into the back unnoticeable because magic. Usually either leather, batlike wings or feathery, birdlike wings.

While at CHB, her children are regularly found wondering the woods at night uninterrupted because the harpies do not want to deal with the vibes they give off. When they are found, they smile serenely and say they were talking to Mother or just taking a stroll. But their eyes are a little wider and reflective than normal and their smile just a bit sharper. literally, they have fangs.

They casually walk around camp with fancy black umbrellas to protect them from the sun and are known to stay near the shadows or to bring the shadows to them. with clunky dollar store sunglasses and baggy dark sweatshirts on top of their platform boots with real silver studs they are usually something to look at.

okay so like aus, the loml

so btvs pjo au??? yes.

lets start with buffy then, shes a child of zeus. people will say she should be a child of athena but like no. not only does zeus work well with her whole vibe, but her godly parent kinda also has to be a dad because of joyce. like it lines up with the show with the absent father that abandoned them and this way i can kill of joyce when things are going a bit too well for our scoobies (she can be sally Jackson but perma dead)

Dawn is also a child of zeus. possibly in some weird way to bring in the whole key plotline, but thats not something ive figured out yet.

Willow is a child of hades, and before you come at me, yes i know hecate exists. but no1 tara is a child of hecate instead and hades works so well for willow too. first we have this whole thing with their parents, we've met willows mom who suckksss and her dad is even more absent, so therefore godly parent who is a father. then we also have the whole dark willow arc, and just a bunch of really good angst potential of it, plus yk its my au.

since i mentioned her, yes tara is a child of hecate, at least one of the lesbians had to be

xander is a child of hephaestus cause hes a carpenter, i conciderd hermes cause that gives me the vibe of like everyday man but no i settled on hephaestus

if giles even is a demigod, he is a child of athena. which also works well cause he has daddy issues.

anya is a child of nemesis, which is really self explanitory.

im not sure how im gonna do with the whole vampires and demons thing, like if im gonna make people evil in some weirdo way. but spike is a child of either apollo or hades. apollo cause of poetry and hes really just a soft sad boy but he wont admit it. and hades because well yeah, plus him and willow being siblings would be great. Tho im more leaning towards him being apollo cause of the next one.

angel is a child of hades, unless i make spike into one, because then angel is a child of ares. both feels self explanitory, alot based on vibe. and since angel gives more child of hades vibes im probably gonna make him into one instead of spike. angel and willow as siblings is about as great as spike and willow as siblings.

Astolfo and Persephone's myth

This a speculation after I read the article from digital-dhampirs.

One most interesting thing about Astolfo is his cover which presents a pomegranate.

I found strange nobody talked about this because pomegranate has very strong symbolism, and maybe can be a hint of his story.

First it is possible symbol of his family, because the word Granatum is part of scientific name of pomegranate; Punica granatum.

But the connecting between the family and the fruit doesn’t stop here, because in fact the word “garnet” comes from Latin word granatum from seed or grain, most likely are reference to the seeds of pomegranate fruit.

Pomegranate also has strong Christian symbol because represents martyrs’ blood, which it appropriates for hunter family.

If we remove Astolfo from the cover we have a picture in still life, a work of art using also like metaphor, because pomegranate is also a Christina symbol that represents a priest, hard outside soft inside, but because the corruption around and inside the fruit, the author is talking about corrupt of the Church but I don’t think only about the Beast act but the tragedy of family Granatum.

If we look inside the fruit we can see tubes, I thought can be Chloe library but it is too dark and broken and there are not books, but another place with tubes it is Moreu lab.

Moreu got help from Church now and then, because it is impossible there is no one in Church didn’t know about a secret lab near to their headquarters.

But why Moreu’s lab if Astolfo had never met him and he is not with Ronald about the search.

His sister can be n°70, a child who is been rewriting by 13 marks and from a powerful line of hunters, a subject who Doctor would love to have.

Plush it is possible Granatum family bloodline isn’t completely human, anime color in VNC it only used on vampires/dhams, but from anime we know both siblings has got pink hair/eyes, but there is not other humans with anime colors.

If his sister is n°70 , her and Astolfo has got a lot parallels with Demeter hymn, or more knowing as Persephone myth.

This myth is already showed up in series, when Veronica talks with Domi, she sat down on statue of Ratto of Prosepina, that Latin name of Persephone.

I think this myth is connect with Granatum siblings; Astolfo fills as Demeter and his sister as Kore/Persephone.

The myth is often rewriting as love story between Hades and Persephone but it is far away from original myth.

Demeter’s hymn is part of Eleusinian Mysteries. Her hymn is sole protagonist who is mother in grief for losing of her daughter, and only when she played dirty she can have her daughter back.

After the kidnapping of her daughter she ignored her duties for looking for her with help of Hecate.

Hecate is one who proposed to ask help for Helios, because he can see everything.

Helios has pity of her and only one who shared the truth(other Gods ignored her because they were afraid of Zeus).

After Demeter found out Zeus sold out Kore to Hades, she took all humans hostage by famine, and Zeus had to give in.

Hades tricked Persephone to eat pomegranate seeds, so she cannot completely come back to her mother, because she is part of underground.

So season are born because the staying of Persephone.

Like we can see Demeter is sweet and devote person who can be so powerful turning the world outside down if her beloveds is in dangerous. She can be pretty revengeful and mean, she punishes humans, who are innocent, for bring Zeus to his kneels.

Astolfo is a devote, sweet and self denial person, but also a revengeful force.

During the myth we don’t know how Persephone lives in underground, if she is love with Hades ecc.

The beauty of Anciest Greek mythology is a big mess fandom of fanfictions so you can find a lot version of same myth, and pick your favorite.

But what is sure, Kore that means maiden, from innocent girl turned is a fearful and severe goddess who scared also big heroes like Odysseus.

It is interesting if his sister alive, both they share a lot with myth.

Also Ronald and Oliver can fill in some roles in myth. Ronald like Helios, the god of light, the only one who pitied Demeter and told the truth, Oliver as Hecate, a reasonable figure for Demeter/Astolfo.

Like we see in chap 59,they are only one they give a darm about Astolfo, the other hunters are disinterested or mean to him, like Demeter and other gods.

Ronald was only light for the boy, Oliver used to be near to him, so the relationship is pretty strong like for Demeter with Helios and Hecate.

Like I said before Ratto di Prosepina is other connecting with the myth and possible with Granatum siblings.

“Ratto of Prosepina” can be connect with his sister because this statue represents a sexual assault.

Ratto in old Italian mean marriage by kidnapping or rape, between VNC characters despite there are a lot of violation, Misha, Astolfo and sister are victims of sexual abuse. Astolfo acts a lot like SA victim. Maybe he didn’t suffer by the act but he saw rape on his mother, seeing sexual acts against own will still rape.

Astolfo also said to Noè “My sis was only six when they…!”

The sentence has never ended by implication are grave, because in previous meeting he already told about the torture, so he didn’t need to repeat himself, and we know there were already rapists in group, so we can hope for best but be prepare for worst.

So this version Hades is a terrible monster who violates completely body of people and our doctor Moreu fills the role

My guess his sister is in fact n°70 and possible the first artificial vampire in series.

VNC is a very peculiar vampire media, because we don’t have turning vampire plot, the most similar thing to that is the rewriting.

Rewriting sounds a terrible and mysterious transformation which we and VNC’s world didn’t know enough

So artificial turning in a vampire maybe is not so far away, like for Kore Olympic godess turned in Crhonotic one by tricky and egoism of other.

An another point making believe Astolfo’s sister is alive because she should be chekhov's gun

and the fact Astolfo mirrored Vanitas.

A character is not mentioned if they aren’t necessary for plot. Yes, there are characters like ghost but these ones are alive and often are used like joke.

Astolfo’ sister is not really necessary character for writing his background dark, if we remove her now and making a lone boy who befriend the wrong person still work, but Astolfo is the mirror of Vanitas and what’s happened to Vanitas recently? He found out his brother alive.

So his sister would work like character if she show up in future and if she is counterpart of Misha.

It’d ’ be pretty cool; while Misha uses childshness as coping/manipulation mechanism and cannot move on from his past with Luna and Vanitas, in contrast she’d be more mature of her age and she don’t try to reunite with his brother because she know things wouldn’t be the same and in fact are enemies.

Like Kore from an innocent girl became to fearful goddess.

Turning a really strong vampire, not for her choices(in myth is tricked by pomegranate seeds) but she enjoined the power but still deeply miss Astolfo.

She would be the one who take care of dr Moreu;Vanitas and Misha are clearly avoiding him, but killing him is not only for revenge but also for stopping him.

If Astolfo ‘s sister is Kore, there is an other possible connection with myth; they are both sold off by someone support to protect them.

Astolfo hates himself because he thinks he’s responsible of tragedy, but it ‘s not a tragedy but a full shreme, with a mandate church/charlatan.

The vampires attacked when the mansion was more vulnerable, most hunters leave for looking a group of vampires, they weren’t guards, the presence of 5 powerful vampires and the fact the group didn’t leave.

What criminal stay in crime scene? They stayed for days, giving all time for Marco asking for help, why they stay a place frequented by vampire hunters.

In fact they give enough time to Church to organize itself and kill all them.

And if wasn’t Church, senate could send bourreau. We know bourreau are sniper for rogue vampire, and they act very quickly to act; one day for Mina, and Amelia was afraid to have them on her way.

BSD godly parents pt.2 - DOA

Who would be the godly parents of the Decay of Angels members if they were demigods from PJO?

Fyodor: His ability is literally killing people he touches. That makes me think his godly parent should be Thanatos, the god of death (even though I don't think we've ever actually seen a child of Thanatos in the Riordanverse)

Sigma: If Hestia weren't a virgin goddess I would have said that Sigma is a child of hers, because of his strong connection with the concept of a home. But since she doesn't have any children I'd just say Sigma is a mortal who can see through the mist and somehow got dragged into the world of demigods against his will.

Bram: I think he would be a son of Hades. His control over the vampires is very reminiscent of Nico's control over skeletons. He's also demonized/outcast like children of Hades tend to be.

Nikolai: Choosing from just the gods who have appeared in PJO (and its sequel series) I think Nikolai would be a child of Hecate, both because his appearance and ability are reminiscent of a magician and because he likes to confront people with different choices (For those who forgot, Hecate is not only the goddess of magic, but also of crossroads). Alternatively, a bit of googling showed that there is also a goddes called Eleutheria, who is a personification of freedom, which could also be an appropriate choice for Nikolai's godly parent.

Personality: A calm and elegant woman with a slight snobbish aura, Alice is the definition of the perfect noblewoman who thinks a bit too highly of herself at times. The Darius family even tried to arrange them to be wed but these plans were quickly forgotten. Many years later, she would help that same Vanrouge raise a child of his own. Alice at first was hesitant to help raise a child, a human one no less, but later on she grew to love the boy like a son of her own. Around the same time as Lilia, Alice decided to attend NRC for a change of scenery and was sorted into Terrovania.

Originally part of the Calaveras, Elias Navarez saw 8 year old Evelia Torres about to die in a witch burning. He killed everyone who was part of it and then adopted her, defecting from the Calaveras and started his own hunting organization. Originally just Calaveras defectors, the group grows to include other hunters, supernatural creatures, and even some ordinary humans, and the group grows into a family.

I tap on the keyboard just soo darn close.

In reality Im busy catching up with my bestie. Yes guilty.

I also want to help a friend with some character descriptions as I hate making a commitment and not doing it. (To my mysterious friend I apologize. I had a migraine.)

Anyways I'll do this below will be a few new characters that will be mentioned. So ask will be open for them. I'll make a separate character list of important characters and some minor ones later.

Why am I doing this well I just want to.

Also to the one who sent the ask about Daniella. You made me fracking blush. But I'll do it.

(So spoilers below sorta. It's just the name and just a sentence or two of what they are or do. But ask are welcome. But I will say this three are Ros. Not the poly/harm as they won't be shared till after the demo update.)

The update is mainly getting pushed back as I currently have a guest in my home (she is very important to me as she helped me come out and I did the same for her.) and I meeting my advisor at school about an issue I had with an exam. I don't like sharing but shit has happened and it's so damn close. Plus I sorta allow a person to read it all first before giving it to you all. So

Alright starting off

Atlas- Yes I've mentioned her and you get to meet her. She is a part of Vanessa's elite strike team and a teacher of dimensions and portals. She is tall and has long blonde hair. She always wears a visor that just covers her face. Just the front of it. She always has her sights on the Mc when they are in the room. Always has a candy bar on hand.

Atargatis or Attina- Is the crown princess to the Atlanteans. She is a half-breed. She has black hair and a few tattoos. Attina has light grey skin and scales like a mermaid. She has markings on her back as it deals with her Atlantean magic.

Vomox- Current king of Atlantis. Has ruled for over 3 thousand years. Has several children and is close friends with Noah and Vanessa. He is tall but he almost is never seen as angry. Doesn't wear a crown but a breastplate that symbolizes his title. Has a tendency to use a morning star.

Hecate- Naamhas daughter. She's also a vampire. Oh and hates your guts too.

Thea- Naamahs daughter. She's well a demon but you would never know unless she tells you. She is more accepting of her mother's obsession love for you.

Psyche (Not her real name.)- A villain that was hurt by a hero when she was a child. Lost the ability to speak. She has taken an interest in the nonpowered instructor(Mc).

So who is the chaotic dumbass looking at you Atlas. She can be an idiot sometimes. (She is a dumbass. Was reading over her scenes today and like wow.)

Chupacabra - The name comes from the animal's reported vampirism—the chupacabra is said to attack and drink the blood of livestock, including goats.

Frankenstein - Frankenstein is not only the first creation story to use scientific experimentation as its method, but it also presents a framework for narratively examining the morality and ethics of the experiment and experimenter.

Selkie - In their human form, selkie folk are always referred to as being incredibly attractive. They are graceful, kind natured and amorous, resulting in any humans coming across them falling desperately in love.

Spiderweb/Cobweb🕸️ - cobweb is a structure created by a spider out of proteinaceous spider silk extruded from its spinnerets, generally meant to catch its prey.

Harpy - Known as the 'Hounds of Zeus,' they were the personification of storm winds and were under the command of Zeus, who would send them out during storms to do his bidding.

La llorona - While The Curse of La Llorona uses the ghost as the monster, La Llorona makes the humans the monsters, ignoring the painful and disturbing ghosts of past sins.

Jersey devil - The creature is believed to be the unwanted thirteenth child of Mother Leeds. According to those in the know, Mother Leeds , before the birth of her thirteenth child, declared that she wished the Devil would take the child away after it was born.

Kappa - They are typically depicted as green, human-like beings with webbed hands and feet and turtle-like carapaces on their backs. A depression on its head, called its "dish" (sara), retains water, and if this is damaged or its liquid is lost (either through spilling or drying up), the kappa is severely weakened.

Witch - Witches were said to have 'familiars' animals such as cats and toads, as a link to the world of magic. Hecate Witch-Queen can be considered the "all mother" of the vampire and witch race through her daughters.

Jiangshi - It kills living creatures to absorb their qi, or "life force", usually at night, while during the day, it rests in a coffin or hides in dark places such as caves.

Candy apple 🍎 - In 1908, New Jersey candy maker, William W. Kolb, is said to have dipped apples into caramel and placed them in his shop windows to draw in customers, and thus, the candy apple was born.

Werecat - humans that transform into humanoid cats. They're a bit taller than their human forms. They have pointy ears that stick out from the sides of their heads. The pupils in their eyes are vertical slits.

Ushi-oni - They usually have an ox's head with sharp upward-curving horns, wicked fangs and a slender tongue. They spit poison and enjoy killing and eating humans. Their body is most commonly depicted as spider-like with six legs and long singular claws at the end of each appendage.

Devil/demon - Samael is a fallen archangel who, after leading an unsuccessful rebellion against Heaven, was banished by God to serve as Lord of Hell. After his fall, he changed his name to Lucifer. In many traditions, demons are independent operators, with different demons causing different types of evils (destructive natural phenomena, specific diseases, etc.). In religions featuring a principal Devil (e.g. Satan) locked in an eternal struggle with God, demons are often also thought to be subordinates of the principal Devil.

Haunted house - A haunted house, spook house or ghost house in ghostlore is a house or other building often perceived as being inhabited by disembodied spirits of the deceased who may have been former residents or were otherwise connected with the property.

Nuckelavee - This horse-like horror of Scottish folklore emerges from the sea bringing death and disease. With origins in Orcadian folklore this demonic creature was blamed for plagues, drought, and death in equal measure.

Malphas - Malphas is said to build houses, high towers and strongholds, throw down the buildings of the enemies, destroy the enemies' desires or thoughts (and/or make them known to the conjurer) and all what they have done, give good familiars, and quickly bring artificers together from all places of the world.

Grime reaper - In some cultures, a Grim Reaper also holds an hourglass which denotes the person's remaining time on earth. In some beliefs, a grim reaper can cause someone's death by appearing in dreams while the sleeper's body is not able to move and soon dies of a heart attack.

Owl - “Owls symbolize inner wisdom, change, transformation, intuitive development, good luck, and self-actualization," says Charlotte Kirsten, M.A., a cultural symbolism expert and founder of Typically Topical. Some people wonder, is an owl a good omen? The answer depends on who you ask and the culture you're living in.

Bai ze - a mythical beast in ancient China. It can speak, understand the feelings of all things, and know the affairs of ghosts and gods, and only appears when "the king has virtue", and can ward off all evil spirits on earth.

Your Result: the abandoned i am so sorry. you were not meant for this, but the victim left for dead often does not die. you are unaware of who made you this way, you are unaware of how you came to be, all you know is that you must feed. what you have endured cannot be undone, i can only wish you the strength to move forward. i am so sorry.* *This very much fit Zivs situation with the Murakami Orchid: While Ziv had read Hestizo Traces reports as a child because she had always read something to make sure she did ot needed to ineract with her Clanmembers after she had started to laoth beeing handled like the small, fragile runt she was, Ziv was also completly unprepared for watching over the Orchid. That the Orchid had bound to her without asking first and than expected her to watch over themself also plays into the Tynnans lack of understanding of the situation. She had not know what was waiting for her in this task, she did not knew about the sickness or the Blackwing Virus or the Orchids abilities and what she needed to do she still needed to learn and continues to learn about as muchas the Orchid learns about the world around them and the only thing fure for them is that they both can not go back.

HECATE’S IRON MAIDEN STATUS: RECOVERED [ Reliquary Masterpost ]

An iron torture device over six feet tall, lined with spikes, and topped with Gorgon’s head. Holes are throughout to aid in draining during exsanguination. Used in many of Hecate’s sacrifices and rituals, including her botched ascension ritual. At the end of her life, she was known to take the form of this iron maiden, for reasons unknown. This is one of the reliquaries that may not entirely possess any magic, but its provenance proves that its recovery and storage is impertinent.

As for its history, I can sort of personally confirm its origins, it was a device favored by my mother for her blood rituals as a child. Whether or not this is the same one from the last days of Hyperborea, I do not know. If it is, it does mean it is well over 6000 years old. This means a very large iron torture device does stand out among the Bronze age cultures. Research has had to fill up the gaps I cannot personally confirm due to my being unconscious for millennia. It has passed from occult owner to owner, either part of her cult in some secret society she seemed not disfavor, and even some infamous beings. Erzsebet Bathory was said to have been gifted this by my mother for yer loyalty, likely one of the few vampiric beings she has made over the millennia (Vladimir Girescu being another.)

It comes back into the public eye around the 1990s in Romania, back in the hands of the Girescu. It was used for an attempt to help give a weakened Hecate more power to return to the mortal realm. Of course, at the price of life. Ilsa Haupstien, a known Nazi collaborator and confidante of Grigori Rasputin, was chosen. (Little did anyone involve know the repercussions of using a human vessel, but I digress.) It once again disappears, with Hellboy and agents making a confirmation that the iron maiden is gone.

By the early/mid-2000s, it is purchased by a Hotelier who also purchased a mansion in Southhampton that had been a site for occult activity since the start of the spiritualism movement up until the 1930s. His intention was to make a bank off the potential ghost hauntings and anomalous activity. (See Case File #99212320070930 “The Trumbull Mansion Incident” for more information.) He purchased it under the Bathory provenance, which makes me wonder if there were multiple iron maidens my mother used. In this Incident, Hecate revives Erzsebet Bathory in what I can only guess was an attempt to subdue the Bureau– more especially– Hellboy. (While my mother’s obsession with my adoptive family would give me some time to breathe, I nonetheless find it creepy.)

It once again disappeared after the conflict. My mother returned to this world in its form one more time in 2018, and since then the actual device has been in my possession as a sort of “inheritance”.
