Working at the Daily Bugle, meant that for most of the time, you had to do work that was not yours.

Your job didn't even include this in the work description when you first applied, you were suppose to be writing articles on what is happening in Nueva York, not making excel sheets of sales and marketing. At first, you did it to fill in for your pregnant co-worker in sales, but ever since she went on maternity leave, your boss, J. Jonah Jameson had designated you the office's sales rep, apparently, without even taking off some of your own work load.

Getting anything done in the office was near impossible nowadays with everyone looming over you, asking if you were done, if the spreadsheets were coming along, if the articles were finished, so you'd dissappear for a couple of hours when the office was at its busiest, taking your laptop and working at the coffeehouse right infront of the building you worked at.

You used to make fun of those who sat at coffee shops, with their big headphones and overpriced drinks, but now you realised how much you actually got done when no one was hanging over your shoulder, asking if you got it done. You've adopted a habit out of going to this café, to the point where you were recognised by the baristas and some of the regulars.

You never really spoke with any of the other regular customers, always gave them a polite wave or just said 'Goodmorning' or 'Have a good one.' depending on the person. None of them made any attempts at speaking with you, so you never really paid them any mind either. They were just familiar faces who made this place feel a little more homely.

Your first encounter with one of the regulars though, was certainly something.

You remember seeing him a couple of times, who wouldn't remember seeing that? Tall man, muscular arms, massive back, soft tufts of blackish brown hair and a brooding look, a nice ass—maybe a little too nice, always wearing that white jacket over any kind of shirt. He'd always come in, order the same coffee, every time.

His voice was queit, he mumbled most of the time and he had a deep, low voice, "One large americano, please." He'd get his drink, sip on it while scrolling through his phone or messing with his watch, then leave. You watched him do this routine one too many times, and one day you caught his name. "One large ameircano for Miguel!"

You never really did anything beyond stare at him, glancing at him between breaks after crunching numbers on your computer. He was just another –attractive– stranger. Nothing too special about him. No need to freak out.

That was until you were holding up the line one day, while looking for your wallet. You were nervously checking all your pockets, getting more and more nervous when you heard the irritation of the customers behind you. You almost had a breakdown when you heard someone walking over, bumping into everyone else. "Sorry—Lo siento—Hello." It was him, him and his...glorious chest and round ass. Him and his stupidly high cheekbones and plump lips. "Add one large americano to that, please. What's the total at?"

"17.75 dollars."

"Tsk, La inflación está afectando todo, ¿eh?"

[Inflation is affecting everything, huh?]

He pulled out his wallet and slid the money over the counter before you could even register. The line moved when the two of you made your way out of it, standing to the side to get your drinks. "Thank you, you didn't have to do that." You said, a blush creeping on your face. He didn't seem like a person who smiled very much, but he gave you a small grin, shaking his head. "Don't mention it. Besides, you really were holding up that line."

You laugh, even though it wasn't all that funny. "I..couldn't find my wallet. That never happens. I think I just left it back at the office. I'll fetch it to pay you back–"

"Oh, no need, my treat. I've wanted to buy you a drink for a while now."

From there, you start talking. You tell him why you became a regular, your hectic office and your demanding boss. He tells you he comes to avoid how hectic it gets too, tells you he works at Alchemax, and you salute him for surviving this long, he tells you it's all thanks to the coffee breaks he gets here and you laugh.

From here on out, you two keep bumping into each other at the coffeeshop. He'd come over and sit with you when it was too crowded, and it slowly became a thing with him, your thing with him. He'd sit at your table, watching you work and occasionally chatting with you, asking how it's going.

"What does a journalist have to do with sales?"

"Tvat—"You took the pen out of your mouth, putting it behind your ear. "—That is what I said!" He laughed, taking a sip of his coffee.

"It's cute how irritated you get. Here, let me help you."

Other days, when he seems a little busier, he flashs you one of those smiles of his, and drops a paper bag on the table before leaving, always containing some kind of sugary pastry to keep you going.

"I've got to run today, but make sure you eat well."

"Oh, are you concerned about me?"

"Of course I am, you're my periodista favorito." [Favourite Journalist]

"Spanglish!"

"Give me a break."

When he's on the phone and rushing out, he'd wave and wink, mouthing you a 'Goodluck' as he walked out the door.

And when you were working late, he'd offer to walk you home, saying it's the gentlemanly thing to do.

"That is me.."

"Ah, not so far from work, huh?"

"Not at all. Thank you for walking me."

"Of course, hermosa, wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you."

"Not with you around."

You didn't see Miguel very often after that, you mentally crused yourself for not asking for his number, but you had to remind yourself, you came here to get work done, to get spreadsheets filled out, to get articles written, not to daydream about a –gloriously handsome– man like its a school crush.

You ended up working over time back at your desk, going home at hours that you should probably be compensated for. Today was just one of those days. Your co-workers had all left, leaving you to lock the office. Once you were done, you exited the building, the cold autumn air flowing through your lungs and the pouring rain dampening your hair. You moved quickly, there were no taxis at this hour, so you pulled your coat closer to your body and made your way down the street. You didn't live too far from where the Daily Bugle was, but with this weather, you much preferred to be in a vehicle.

It was getting a little harder to see, the downpour was getting heavier and your vision was getting blurry. It didn't help how you could hear a pair of footsteps behind you—Make that two pairs of footsteps behind you. This time of night made people of every kind come out of the shadows. You just had to get to your neighbourhood and everything will be fine.

"Oi, sweetcheeks, wait up!"

"We just wanna have a chat, baby, stop walking so damn fast!"

You were practically speeding infront of them, trying to lose them by moving in between buildings. Maybe it wasn't the smartest of decisions, because by the third time, you found yourself met with a dead end. The two men from earlier seemed to have picked up a friend, and the three of them were approaching you in a menacing manner. You saw one of them holding something in his hand, the blade glinted in the pitch darkness. The other two lunged at you, pinning you to the wall. You let out a loud scream and started kicking, but it was to no avail. The armed man stepped closer to you, running his blade across your clothes, with a disgusting grin on his face.

"Gonna be a nice night, eh?"

You moved, kicking him between his legs. He recoiled, taking his time straightening up while his two filthy friends held you back tighter.

"We've got a fiesty one, h—"

A man moved out of the shadows, a familiar blue and red glow following him as he lunged at the perpetrator, knocking the swiss knife from his hand. The two men let you go and launched themselves at him, while the other one struggled to grab his knife from off the ground. Your not-so-unknown hero knocked out the two henchmen, webbing them to each other and kicking them to the side while he swiftly handled the third one. He was fast, incredibly fast, you could hear the man struggle to keep up with him, until he was finally knocked out near his two friends.

You stood mesmerised, staring at his massive back as he stood looming over the three of them. "¿Tu madre no te ha enseñado modales?" He grumbled. He must've felt your gaze, because he looked back at you. Your eyes met his red irsis, as he stood unmasked, the only thing concealing his face was the darkness you stood in.

[Has your mother taught you no manners?]

You took a few steps towards him, and he immediately moved, launching himself up. "Hey, wait!" You ran up to the street, looking up at the roofs of the two buildings you stood between. Behind you, you could hear a ziiiip! and when you turned around, your not-so-friendly masked hero stared at you, hanging upside down.

"Oh my god, hey." You smiled at him, putting your hands on your heart. It felt like was going to jump out of your chest.

"Hey." He replied, "¿Qué es algo bonito como que haces tan tarde en la noche?"

[What's a pretty thing like you doing this late at night?]

His voice sounded like you've heard it before, the way he rolled his r's and that thick spanish accent of his made him feel a little too familiar to you.

"I—I was working late." You replied after a bit, the glow of his suit reflecting in your eyes. "Spreadsheets again?" He asked, and the question made you laugh. "Yeah! My boss needed them finished."

"You shouldn't stay this late out." His tone was authoritative, "Especially all alone. Who knows what would've happened if I wasn't...in the area."

Unknown to you, he wasn't exactly 'in the area', he was making sure you'd get home safe. Just like he did every other night you went home late.

"Usually I have a friend that walks me home, but I haven't seen him in a while." You explain, before nodding. "But you're right. I won't stay this late again."

"Ah, good. Take care of yourself."

"Are you always this concerned about the people you save?"

"Just the pretty ones."

Your skin heated up, and you took a step towards him with a smile. "That's not very fair of you, Mr. Spiderman. I'm a journalist you know, I could hold this against you."

"But you won't." He chuckled, and you tilted your head at his playfulness. "You like me too much."

"My boss doesn't though, writing something negative about you could give me a raise."

"Mm, that's your thanks for saving you?"

You laugh, and move a bit closer to him so your faces were inches apart. A moment of silence fell upon the two of you, as you gently hooked your finger against the fabric of his mask.

"Wait—" One of his big hands wrapped around your wrist, but he quickly removed it, holding on to his red webs instead.

You lowered his mask and set it gently on his sharp nose. You could see his tanned skin glistening with rain droplets, his plump lips were parted and there was a recognisable small scar on his neck, peeking from under the suit. You wrapped your hands around his warm cheeks, and leaned in, pressing your lips to his. They were soft, just like how you imagined they would be. He kissed you back, closing his eyes under the mask, letting himself savour this moment as much as he could. You were ever so gentle, your breath hitched in your throat and your mouth slightly open.

You pulled back after a few minutes, and he leaned forward, not really ready to let go of you. He fought the urges he's been feeling ever since the first time he saw you in the coffeeshop, but if it were up to him, he would've had you kiss him until the two of you were breathless.

"That is my thanks." You replied, taking a step back with a smile on your face. "I'll see you around, right?" You asked, and he nodded. "You will."

You turned your back to him and made your way out to the street, the smile still on your face.

"Oh, and spiderman?"

"Yeah?"

"I didn't tell you about the spreadsheets."

His cheeks flushed as he watched you go, he followed you on the rooftops until he made sure you entered the apartment building safely.

His gizmo beeped, and a notification caught his eye.

Re: The Sunset Savannah event and my debilitating crush on Leona Kingscholar;

(Putting this under a cut just in case bc spoilers)

(Also, tagging @nicoliharu bc she knows how stupid I get over Leona Kingscholar 🤪)

When Kalim was buying bracelets at the market and offered to buy ones for everyone on the trip, I was thinking about Leona maybe being ticked off when Kalim gives Yuu one because it's tradition to make or gift a beaded bracelet or necklace to someone you're interested in to ask them out. (Yuu does get one, right? Grim gets one, so I'm assuming for the sake of this brainrot post.) Like, the ones Kalim buys as souvenirs are just normal bracelets, and there's a particular pattern/style used for courting jewelry. But it still bothers Leona because he wanted to be the first to give Yuu one.

Then they get to Elephant Legacy (whether Miss Yuu joins the group in the bath or not is up to you, co-ed baths are a thing in some places), and Leona offers to braid Yuu's hair to get it out of their face/off their neck. Cue any attendants nearby squinting suspiciously, 'cause that could be a couple thing since they aren't family, but hair braiding is pretty common in this country so they aren't totally sure. They only start freaking out and calling Kifaji when Leona pulls Yuu over to one of the souvenir stalls and gives them a courting necklace.

Meanwhile, Yuu is either just as suspicious, or just happy that Leona seems to be enjoying himself now that Kifaji is gone. They have no context for any of this, so they're just trying to be a good guest and enjoy the trip.

I don't remember who wrote the "imagine Leona pulling you onto his lap at a dinner with snobby nobles" but imagine that happening here!!! Intentionally or not the servants don't set enough places and Leona doesn't even hesitate, just plops down and pulls you onto his lap!! Vil is gagging, Lilia is all "Oh young love," Grim is too deep in the food to even know what's going on, bless his heart.

hello mei. 🥺🌸 thank-you for coming by and saying so. 🥺🥺🥺 omg i hope you don’t mind, but i saw your tags and wanted to freak out over them—and you sending this was the perfect excuse LOL (i’m so sorry—i’m not really sure on the etiquette when wanting to reply to tags 😭😭 so i jumped LOL) but like!!!!! bakugou goes through/is going through so much in canon. he keeps getting dismantled and remade over and over 😭😭 and i like to think the same as you—like that as an adult he is more secure, that he lets himself trust in himself and other people and the world around him more. 😭😭😭 so it’s interesting to wonder what’d it’d take to crack that LMAO. he achieves so much as a kid, still… saves so many different people…. probably has a pretty decent track record of it as an adult…… i feel like failing to do that One Important Thing, and with someone he’s come to care for, would be a brutal blow. 🥺 and like… what do you do after that??? i’d never love again. 💀💀💀💀 he probably throws himself into work until he almost breaks on the job and has to get hauled off the field by like Deku and Kirishima. 💀💀💀💀💀💀 they probably have to instate a 24/7 kacchan watch on him 💀💀💀💀 and then he just refuses to give into the grief and tries to grit his teeth through it (which never ever works 😩).

Last film: The last full film I watched was Romeo and Juliet (2021) with Josh O'Connor and Jessie Buckley because my best friend's NYU account has access to a bunch of plays and she came over to watch it with me, but I watch a bunch of miscellaneous movie clips though

Part 2:

1. Were you named after anyone?

Nah, my English name is a weird, fairly original one that my parents came up with (so many people pronounce my English name even though it's literally phonic, but I love that it doesn't have a pre-set meaning) and Chinese naming is a whole different thing, where there's not really a concept of naming your kid after someone, and even then it's not like English where you take the same name.

But I will say my Chinese name means "such a beautiful jade", which I really like, and am really happy with, so thanks Mom for that!

2. When was the last time you cried?

When I went to my bi-monthly counselling/ therapy on Friday

3. Do you have kids?

No, I'm 19 lol but I do want some in the future

I have a group of kids, essentially my sister's friends and schoolmates to whom I act as a big sister/mentor figure, I call those kids my children/my ducklings (I say kids but they're 16)

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

I used to do ballet until I pulled my legs and couldn't go on pointe anymore, so I quit in 2020 after fourteen years. And if anyone says dancing isn't a sport I will fight you

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Not really, just occasionally with my sister when we're clearly joking with each other

6. What’s the first thing people notice about you?

Either my naturally wavy/frizzy hair, or me being trilingual (I have a draft ranting about being a polyglot lmao)

7. What’s your eye color?

Dark, dark brown 🤎

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings, definitely. I also absolutely cannot handle any scary movies 😩

9. Any talents?

Eh, I don't really view myself like that? But I'll put public speaking and making arts and crafts out here

10. Where were you born?

Hong Kong! (nationality is a whole debate here and it's really complicated plus I'm technically an immigrant child even though it's still part of the country? But if someone asks me I always say I'm a Hong Konger)😁

11. What are your hobbies?

Too many to count! Singing, dancing, writing, performing, drawing, scrapbooking, reading... and pretty common hobbies but I just, they give me so much peace and happiness

12. Do you have any pets?

No but I have a little sister! (jkjk) I do want a cat though

13. How tall are you?

163 cm, so that's 5'3?

14. Favorite subject in school?

English and Chinese (for secondary school)

Ngl the quality of Bangtan fanfiction has gone down like BTS’s music( there’s still some gems, but overall all I see are shity abo fics)

I am so done with abo fics, anon. So done. It's not a genre I go for, but in some rare ocassions I can read it if I find the plot compelling. Or I'm desperate. But to me, it felt like in the last few months/year, the number of abo fics grew exponentially or at least the impression is that it represents the majority of the stories published. Like I said, I'm not fully judging it because some stories are written really well, but it has a chokehold on the writers/readers. And let's be honest, it's a questionable genre. I'm not the first and the only one to say it, but I'll leave it at that.

This jikook secret santa 2023 really helped because it brought other stories and it was somehow more diverse. The tag was freaking arid until this new batch. Yes, it had abo as well, but I've also read other stories, some of them really good. Even before the reveals, my favorite was The Cabinet Maker and it turned out to be written by rkiveink.

How does SS rationalise the close relationship between Naruto and Sasuke vs Sasuke not showing the same care to Sakura at all? Not smiling with her, crying with her, laughing with her, making an effort to see her, taking care of her, having conversations with her, bantering with her. How can they see this as the ultimate love pairing when Sasuke cares more for his 'most precious friend' than his wife. They're self-inserting into Sakura so that they can get the handsome guy, but I can't imagine a woman with self respect dating a guy who is so uninterested and caring more for their friend than their partner. You mentioned looking through their fics before, so in their fics what's Naruto doing? How do they write the dynamic between the three?

I was reading this face with a 'Yes, That's Right'.... But the very last line made me go, 'Wait!!?? What?? ROFL'... And you'll know why.

How does SS rationalise the close relationship between Naruto and Sasuke vs Sasuke not showing the same care to Sakura at all?

Their minions has One Agenda.

Label Naruto and Sasuke as Brothers at any cost.

Period. No Discussion.

So, under the Label of brother, they don't mind Sasuke prioritizing Naruto even after their Marriage. That's why be it in Reddit or Tumblr or Twitter... You'll always see them using that Brother panel. Atleast that agenda mitigates the terrible Canon content they have for their ship.

But I am damn sure, they know it in their hearts that Sasuke and Naruto are not Brothers.

Homophobia ??? Partly Yes.

Denial of Truth??? Hell Yes.

Hmm, That's why they have Fan fics and Fan Arts. Sasuke does everything for Sakura you mentioned here in Fanfics.

In fanfics, Sasuke's companion is Sakura... He can't live without her, He carry her like an Eggshell, He was longing to be around her presence bla bla bla.... And Sasuke gets annoyed whenever Naruto calls Sasuke for assigning a mission through Telephone during his steamy makeout session with Sakura...

You mentioned looking through their fics before, so in their fics what's Naruto doing? How do they write the dynamic between the three?

I haven't (or couldn't) read their fics entirely... ***For Obvious reasons***. I skimmed through their preface, tags and couple of M rated One Shots and 1 Explicit fic by skipping those moments. Just to understand the appeal of SS.

To be honest, I was heavily ***Surprised*** by one thing.

In many of their Fics... Sasuke was being portrayed as Bisexual... Or he was having some affair kind of thing with Naruto...

It's kind of weird...

In SNS fics, Sakura remotely being there as a friend is a big Turn away for most of us... but in SS fics, he does have affair with Naruto or even implied to have slept with Naruto ((-_-)). However Karin is the Arch-Enemy for their ship though. LOL. I've never once seen the word Karin was being used anywhere... So, I think they don't mind reading their Sasuke-kun having affair with a Boy... But Karin is a No-No.

And Of Course, Sakura was also shipped with Naruto and Kakashi in those fics... I don't know... Just to make Sasuke to get jealous (???).. Duh

But what's worse is...

You asked me 'How do they write the dynamics between the three'??

Well, I've found atleast 10 fics out of their first 50 with this specific trope.... That is, They have a fondness by making Three of them doing Each other

Yeah, Team 7 Threesome is kinda kink for them.

That's when I understood, this fucking fandom is just some horny freaks with weird kinks who badly wants Sakura (themselves) to get laid... (All these are under M rated at that, I wonder what would be the case of E rated though.. 😩🤢)

Seriously, don't rush route 1. that is seriously a masterpiece in the making and it shouldn't be posted unless you had rendered your fullest thought process into it. After searching for months on end for a new place to live, you have given up on overpriced condos and creepy basements. The little bungalow made in the 70s captured your heart with its vibrant colours and peeling wallpapers. Despite the strange stares and worried looks you received from your new neighbours, you can't help but adore your new home.

You weren't stupid, you had heard the rumours before moving in. They hadn't lived there too long, barely been together 5 years. The first family that lived there mysteriously vanished. Well, the wife and son did. They never knew what happened to the husband. Some say they saw him roaming the halls months after their death, and others believe he killed them and escaped. Robert his name was. Robert murdered them, they said. It could be true, your realtor couldn't leave the little house after the first showing fast enough. You were able to get your hands on her again. Luckily.

You asked around, and came to find out that most tenants moved out within a few months. In such an old house it was normal to hear random creaks in the wood, but something about the basement freaked them out. Who could blame them, those hanging chains were permanently welded into the wooden beans on the ceiling, reinforced with steel fixtures. As if anyone would ever make it past him. The bin was in the best shape. It's white colour mostly stayed as it is, despite it's obvious vintage appeal. A few red scratches decorating the inside of it.The night you moved in was eerily still. Not a single crack in the wood or impetuous cold breeze. Silence.

After scrummaging through the old attic, you came across a few photo frames. The first of a small family, a husband/wife and their son, the next one was of the same boy smiling brightly at the camera. The last one was what you were looking for. Him. There he was. You understood why many suspected it was him, his long hair framing his broad shoulders, and the mutton chop beard that hadn't come back into style. The picture wasn't clear, how could it have been, but it was all you needed. You gathered your supplies and got to work.

With everything in place, you light the candles. The surrounding fixtures begin to illuminate amongst the crackle of the fire. His son's old teddy bear, your realtors corpse, and the droplets your blood circling around them, all come to light within the small four walls of the attic. With everything laid out in front of you, he had to be able to find you.

"Come back to me, my love", you whisper.

The candles begin to flicker as you felt a chill run up your spine. The fire suddenly dies down, while you are able to see the faint outline of a sinister smile and cerulean blue eyes.

"Ah toots, it took you long enough."

Bruh, TWO FREAKING years?!?! Like two whole years. But okay, WOW i.

I'm so so so so soooo happy. My first year was so lowkey; I was scared to text 'popular blog owners'; I was legit scared to reblog at one point lol! It's been such a journey. I've loved every bit of it.

I've met such amazing people and I'd never trade this for anything.

@silverswallow @mendesblurb These two people have been my rocks here. They were the ones who made me stay and I'll never forget that. When I started writing they were my source of encouragement. I love you both SO MUCH.

5 Noah Kahan Songs

Stick Season. yes it did come out less than an hour ago and yes it has been on repeat the entire time. i've been listening to it on repeat ever since I saw Noah on tour and I got a video of it so yeah. long story short, GO!!! STREAM!!! ✨️Stick Season✨️

Caves. ⇑ is obviously my favorite rn but i think Caves is always gonna be my top fav. it just means the world to me. v sentimental and special to me.

Please. It was my first fav Noah song and it just means a lot to me bc it helped me through freshman/sophomore year of high school (tw here) when i had an ED. it was my comfort song and always will be.

Maine. it's the song that got me back into writing after a VERY long slump. plus it's just super cute.

Busyhead. i mean, yeah the whole album but the song specifically. it's another one of those songs that got me through a really hard time and it's just a super sweet song.

now we move onto the non-Noah songs. these probably won't have explanations bc they really aren't that special, they're just my faves rn lol

Song stuck in your head: My husband’s morning alarm sounds a bit like Camptown Races and he refuses to change it because he says I’m imagining it. He’s also a chronic snoozer, so every morning I hear it about a dozen times before he eventually gets up. This means that Camptown Races is permanently stuck in my brain and I can’t do anything to get it out. It’s the most annoying tune in the world and I don’t even know the lyrics. Please help.

Last thing you Googled: “Who sings Camptown Races?”

Time: 10.39am

Dream trip: Tokyo. Or Hawaii. Or New Orleans. Or Croatia. I just love travelling. The list is long.

Last book you read: Disappearing Act by Robert Sheehan (which I’m still reading. Actually, I’ve given up on the act of reading and I’ve started listening to the audiobook on my commute)

Last book you enjoyed reading: F*** You Very Much by Danny Wallace. It’s about the psychology of rudeness and what we can do as a society to become more empathetic. He wrote it after a lady was mean to him at a hotdog stand.

Last book you hated reading: I don’t tend to read things I don’t like. I have enough trouble reading the things I actually *want* to read. But I remember having to read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad for my English Lit degree and hating every word. I’d rather have dental surgery performed by Gary Busey than read that shit again.

Favorite food to cook/bake: I love cooking, when I can be arsed. I make a pretty special cottage pie and my lasagne is not bad either. My maple mustard roast beef is passable. I also make this lemon and blackberry bread pudding thing sometimes that would knock your socks off. Damn… I’m hungry now.

Favorite craft to do in your free time: No crafts. Just writing. And I like wrapping presents. I have a big box filled with bows and ribbons and shit. You should see my cat’s face when the big box of Forbidden Cat Toys comes out. Many a time I’ve had to chase her while she trails a pilfered ribbon all over the house.

Most niche dislike: Spitting. I can’t bear people spitting in the street. Go home and spit in your sink, you filthy camels!

Opinion on circuses: When I worked as a journalist, I had to report on circuses that kept animals like tigers and elephants in cages. They all looked pretty miserable. Plus clowns freak me the fuck out. Not a fan.

Do you have a sense of direction in life? Lol.
