Today I had the displeasure of finding out, Mandisa — an American Idol contestant, Grammy winner, and Christian Gospel singer— passed away.

While I didn’t actively follow her, I am very sad by this news. I would very much like to say that she was an amazing and inspiring woman with a lovely and powerful voice.

Her forgiving Simon Cowell will always be a moment that resonates me and encourage me to strive in showing grace like that.

List 5 things you could talk about for hours without preparing any material:

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (book series) — one of the first series I ever read and still very much love to this day. I have yet to finish the Netflix Series, but I have such a fondness for the books and the other things that I’ve read that surround the series.

Peanuts/Charlie Brown comics — definitely a love of mine in middle school and is still very much present to this day. Timeless classic comics of a round headed kid, friends, and dog. Schroeder is probably my favorite character.

Lord of the Rings — favorite movies of all time. I have watched them countless times. I’ve read the books (holy shit it took me so long to get through, but I’d like to read them again) I’m still scared of Bilbo’s face in Fellowship and can’t watch that part 😂🙈

Artist Fears and Frustrations — FUCK art block, no one likes drawing hands 😩😩, fuck the lack of motivation, and I could go on… and then how you just like at your artwork after and scrutinize the hell out of it.

Mental Health — honestly love when I can just be real with someone and talk about how we’re doing in regard to mental health. Like self care and helping out someone or at least being a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen is very rewarding to me.
