Designing Indulgence was tough

It was one of those situations where the image I had in my head wasn't as clear as I thought it was

I wanted to go with something shark like with some minor insect elements since Gluttony is often associated with Beelzebub, but I already did something else with him

Queen Bee from helluva boss was also a big inspiration for her since I really liked her

I wanted to do a big mouth with other mouths because I like designs with big teeth and one of my favorite pieces of fan art of Bee has big toofers

She was originally going to have a longer mohawk that hung down to one side, but I couldn't get it right and decided I didn't like how it looked anyway so I made it a regular one

Her horns were also going to look more like insect antenna, but i decided it didn't look quite right either

There are still things I might change in the future as well, like moving or removing the second, smaller pair of wings, and fixing the back of her mohawk because of her choker, but right now I'm happy with this

And of course colors were just as hard

The original idea was pink body with darker pink hair, but I ended up just lightly brushing the very top of her mohawk with the dark pink instead

Her wings and horns were also originally going to match her body but I felt I needed black to balance out the bright colors more

I was originally playing with pastels for her clothes because i felt it would be colorful, but lacking in intensity enough to balance out her mohawk and body, but I was wrong

I might see how she looks with green eyes but the blue is just fine for now

What are Mutabilis Demons?

Mutabilis demons, or shifters, are a race of shapeshifting demons that were originally a single devil named Mutabilis.

Mutabilis's core was found and shattered when they sided with the nephalem daughter of Truth and Lust named Shade, who tried to overthrow the gods and establish herself as the only god of New Earth. (She will be her own post)

The shattered pieces became the cores for new demons, making them the youngest race on New Earth (all the shifters that are main and secondary characters are the third and youngest generation).

They are untrusted, especially in the after realms, due to both their history with Shade when Mutabilis was whole and the fact that many have formed cults that worship the imprisoned nephalem. This leads to unfair discrimination, especially when it comes to them taking positions of power, where one can be seen as untrustworthy for even knowing a Shade worshipper regardless if they themselves take part.

Shifters come in many shapes, sizes, and forms. They are so diverse that there are only three defining traits for them

1) they will typically have at least one body part that is disconnected from the rest of their body, but still functions like an attached limb. This helps with energy preservation and management

2) they have a crystal-like core they can revert to if their body is greatly damaged or they lose too much energy. Shattering this core will kill the demon instantly

3) their blood can come in many colors and will float in a way similar to water when it's in space

They can combine to create stronger shifters, though this is not the way they reproduce nor is it related to how they reproduce, it's an ability that comes from the fact that they originated as a single being and therefore can become one with another. Many of the cults of Shade even believe that combining enough Shifters would make them whole again and revive Mutabilis in way.

There is little known about them since they are relatively new to the world, but biologists on new earth do their best to learn how these curious demons work

1: redesign of pixies. I wanted to make them more insect-like to set them apart from faries

I had a previous passion project called "Call a Spade a Spade"

I always imagined making it a trilogy, but realized that I wasn't ready to write something like that

It's kinda died off now, but I don't think I want to let it completely fade

My sona/one of the main characters for my new passion project also likes drawing n writing, but I always struggled coming up with stuff they enjoy making, so I'm going to make CASAS their passion project within the Plague and Creatures universe

It's a fun little easter egg and helps me remember past works that still have a special place in my heart. Keeping it alive and remembered in this way feels good to me

Lucifer's family

The king/Satan of hell has a wife who had two kids. They were good for a while, but the marriage became loveless and Lucifer became more disloyal, having kids with mortals more and more often.

His wife, Lilith (she/her), was the first person to become a devil through contract. So long as they remain married she retains her immortality and status, which is why they haven't split up.

Their children are Baphomet and Astaroth, twins. Baphomet (any/all) is a pacifist that helps with negotiations and mediating conflict between devils. Astaroth (he/him), is the head of the Ars Goetia, the 72 high devils that command Hell's legions.

Galacies also has his own wards; Reiaiel (he/they) is the head of the Shem HaMephorash, the angel counterpart to the Ars Goetia. Abaddon the Fallen (he/him) is his second in command in Tartarus.

Where are the humans?

The reason non human creatures tend to live in condensed cities, even in North America, is because humans decided where they would place their walls when they closed themselves off from the rest of the world with little to no negotiation. With their tendency to make things far more spread out than they need to be due to things like car dependent infrastructure, farmland, cooperations, and government land, they tend to continue to expand outwards, pushing creatures into more condensed areas.

As such, there is a continuous war between the humans and the creatures who try to stop them from expanding. It's not uncommon for forests to be extremely thick and dense closer to human walls and infrastructure, as if trying to physically hold back the wall from moving further. Dryads and wild creatures tend to be on the front line of this, with rural creatures also affected backing them up. Urban creatures also lend support, but are most often not directly involved in conflicts

Urban creatures tend to live in more condensed, walkable, and green cities run on a mix of magic and old technology. They even have underground portions of their cities, or even entire cities underground, which tend to have just as clean or sometimes even better air quality than above ground, due to heavy restrictions on vehicles and air pollutants in those parts.

Rural creatures may live in small villages, tribes, on farms, or as hermits, depending on race, culture, personal preference, etc. some even make their homes from abandoned human cities or at the very least use them for resources.

Wild creatures reject developed society altogether, living on territories or on the move, in packs, herds, or other groups or even alone, and surviving off nature, instincts, and magic. These creatures may also take up residence in abandoned cities or include them in their territory.

Who is Evren?

The celestial guardian of New Earth, older than the planet itself yet considered young for his kind. He goes by many names, Evren and the celestial dragon most often, and his power allows him to project parts of himself onto Earth in any form. He is not omnipotent, omnipresent, and/or all knowing, though many may say he is simply because he is the most powerful being they know.

He protects the planet he rebirthed, and by extension the solar system, from the greater dangers of the galaxy, beings and other threats beyond the understanding of even the gods. Since the incident with Amit and Satan he's been keeping a closer eye on it; prepared to give guidance to the gods of his creations any time it's needed, but still being careful not to step in too much and too often so they can grow on their own.

His primary purpose is to protect the planet from external threats, not to micromanage a planet full of sentient beings. He rarely if ever directly interferes with conflict on earth outside of verbal advice and guidance.

Okay, so I've had this character idea for a while, but I just thought of a new development for him that makes them even better

So this guy (he/they) wants to get with people, guys, girls, whoever, and at first he seems like a horny bard type

They make a deal with the lust devil to use a demon soul for power; to be able to change their appearance from fem to masc (and anywhere in between) and charm people, like a suc/incubus

He fucks around and finds out that not only did he trip and fall into a whole other world he was in no way prepared for, but all those fantasies they've had just weren't as great in practice as they thought.

They find out they're aegosexual/pan, and start using their abilities alternatively to get along in the new side of their life

He makes friends with other humans who wandered the same path as well as creatures hiding within human society, and together they all find their footing in the world

What is New Earth?

New Earth is the planet my characters live on. It was created after the first was accidentally destroyed by a cosmic being known on the planet as Evren, who felt bad about what he had done and therefore created a new one to take its place.

It has parallels with the old Earth since it was used as a template for the new one, but this one now has fantastical beasts and creatures, gods with their heavens and hell.

For some time, Evren had left it to be ruled by two high gods; Amit and Satanus. Amit created the good of the world: the original gods, commandments, the creatures of the world that inhabit it, and the heavens. Satanus balanced the good with the bad: creating great beasts that would destroy and tear apart the world, hell, the sins, and the devils and demons that inhabit it.

Everything was fine, but only for so long. Satanus, bored of the proxy conflict, hurt and forced himself on Amit, which resulted in her becoming terribly wounded and pregnant.

The gods she created attempted to aid her, but were destroyed, the essence of their power returning to Evren which alerted him that his creations where in danger.

Before returning, however, the manifestation of their power foretold that while Amit would give birth to an heir for Satanus, the other two of her children would destroy him. To prevent his destruction, Satanus corrupted her womb after she gave birth to the heir Beelzebub, to prevent the birth of the other two.

Amit suffered being slowly corrupted from the inside until Evren returned, and while he couldn't undo the corruption he was able to allow the devil Lucifer and the angel Galacies to be born.

Using the power that returned to him from the old gods, he created new gods to aid them in destroying Satanus and take the throne of darkness from Beelzebub.

Upon the defeat of Satanus and Beelzebub, the second generation of gods faded away, having used all their strength, and Evren created some of the ones the live in New Earth to this day in their place.

Together they used the deepest part of Hell to create Tartarus, an icy prison the brothers used to imprison Beelzebub and planned to use for their father's creations of destruction, and Galacies took charge of it. Unfortunately, the first prisoner after Beelzebub became their own mother.

Satanus's corruption became too much for Amit, and she became a danger to the world. However the brothers were unable to bring themselves to destroy their own mother, instead freezing her to prevent further corruption while they tried to find a way to save her.

With Amit frozen and Satanus destroyed, Galacies and Lucifer became the new balance. Taking the throne as the Satan of Hell, Lucifer vowed to never be like his father and to always be loyal to and love his brother dearly, maintaining the balance by ruling the darkness and evil rather than using or allowing it to take over.

Welcome to the Plague and Creatures lore blog!

Hopefully with this I'll be able to share more about my characters and their lore without having to consistently writing short stories (which I am bad at)

This is just a passion project/hobby so I don't want any pressure or for it to be treated like something serious

Just little ideas i wanna put on the internet because I like them and I like creating

Perhaps I'll even give hints of lore here and there about past world building hobby projects I did

The lore, characters, and stories that are part of Plague and Creatures are not made for children. They contain things such as: swearing, violence, mature themes, and some suggestive content and sexual themes

I'd say most of my work would be probably fine for older teens like 16+ since I rarely use sexual themes and never post anything that could be considered straight up pornographic, but I will make sure to clarify when I post content that is for an adult audience or that I wouldn't feel comfortable with anyone younger than 18 engaging with, using all the proper tags and content warnings as well

I will also update my content warning and age suggestion with time if I ever decide that it's best to narrow my audience for any number of reasons or find my writing changing
