like okay i donât think heâd be exactly like babsâ oracle but heâd be like an oracle-like hero yknow?
someone said in the tags that they donât think tim would ever give up fieldwork and i 100% agree, i donât think he would. however, i do think heâd like working in the shadows more if that makes sense??
like all the villains know batman right, but with tim heâd work more in like gathering information and intelligence and like shit like that. of course heâd still do missions in the field but itâd be more down low stuff rather than âmassive fight in the middle of the streetâ type thing
idk if iâm making any sense, but basically i think the logical next step for tims character is to move on from robin and discover his own niche in the superhero community
but thatâs just my hc so like accept it or donât it doesnât matter lmao

Unsurprisingly I got into some dumb argument over on twitter, and the context doesn't matter but this guy ended up saying something about how Bruce didn't choose to be Batman.
You didn't read that wrong, he said that Bruce didn't choose to be Batman. After a bit of debate, he asked me if I believed that Spider-Man chose to be a hero, and my answer is yes.
I fundamentally agree, with a few prophecies and traumatic backstories notwithstanding, that every single superhero to ever hero has chosen to be a hero -- at least in comics. Because just being bit by a spider doesn't inherently mean that Peter Parker had to start saving people. Being sent to earth didn't force Clark into being Superman.
Every single hero chose their life. That is what makes them the person that they are. They chose to save people. They chose to do good. And every single day since, wherein they choose to fight on the streets for people who cannot defend themselves, makes them a hero. But it is an active choice that these people make.
And yes. If they were to have not chosen to be a hero they wouldn't be the same person they are, because that's how choices work. Choices fundamentally shape a person's character, or at least that's how I see it.
So yes. Bruce chose to be a hero. He chose to be Batman and a lot of people in the world both fictional and not, are better off for it.

i actually really enjoyed reading your response! but i meant it more as like âthey shouldnât just be focused on damian breaking the rules, but tim as wellâ tbh bruce should be worried about all the batboys but thatâs beside the point
the point is, this isnât meant to be taken seriously as an in depth analysis of canon and more of a âwoah tim has had to talk himself out of killing someone one too many times, bruce should keep an eye on him as wellâ
but either way i did enjoy your response it was very well written
thereâs smth so funny about the batfam being concerned about damian breaking the no kill rule when tim is one bad day away from world annihilation
