Firstly I need to say that I don’t intend to criticize the game, I love the cast, the art, the animation, the game is nice. Solmare, thanks so much for providing this game for free.

I understand that the game is an otome game, I already played A LOT of them and I know how they work but one of the things that always bothered me in Obey Me is that some things just don’t make any sense (just like it happens in a lot of games of this genre). For example, why would a 1000+-year-old demon go to school? For this reason, I started creating a little plot in my head while playing the game.

I also want to say that I didn’t play the whole game so if I say something that happens during the game or something that doesn’t match what comes in late game it is because I just played around 18 lessons.

Some of the headcanons related to the Devildom:

The Devildom we see in the game is only a small portion of hell, prepared and molded to serve as an “advertisement” to the other worlds. I think most of us have a different idea of hell, one that differs a lot from what the game presented. Besides the MC almost dying (or dying) sometimes, the Devildom looks like a very nice place?? Like?? Where is the suffer? The chaos? The pain? I’m not saying that it can’t be festivals, libraries, observatories, and this kind of stuff there but It seems so... out of place? So my headcanon is that the Devildom was built mirroring the human world, that’s why they have so many things in common, to be presented as a civilized and advanced place.

Diavolo doesn’t plan to “unite” the three worlds but rather has the Devildom replacing the celestial realm as the most important among them. Again I am here thinking that everything looks so nice to be taking place in hell. The citizens there are literally sins, and this man, the prince of hell, out of nowhere is talking about peace and friendship among the three worlds? So for me, everything is in the end a big political game. Some of his goals might include making hell seem more alluring for the humans, changing their perception of the place, making the humans lower their guards, and making it easier for them to accept deals, increasing the influence of Devildom on the human world. Especially for Diavolo, the objective in this “game” would be to show that his "kingdom" is the best. an indirect war between the celestial realm and the Devildom guided by pride.

The reason why R.A.D. exist and 1000+-year-old demons go to school is because schools are already a familiar place for young humans, and is much easier to brainwash and propagandize younger people in comparison to the older ones. If his plan is to brainwash people, having in mind that is much easier to put new concepts and perceptions, even if distorted, in the minds of those who have not yet formed their ideas, it makes sense that they would choose to have teenagers participating in this project. Also, the school is not only a familiar place, but is one that makes the person, depending on your background and personality, very susceptible to manipulation and indoctrination, and said that the MC knows almost nothing related to the celestial realm and the Devildom’s history, is very easy for them to distort the facts.

The human form of the demons we meet during the game is also a way to make the Devildom more alluring. I mean, they are hot. Like, very hot. I understand why Asmodeus would be so hot, but what is the probability of ALL OF THEM BEING SO FUCKING HOT/??????//? Also, we have this changing form thing when they lose their temper like they need to be calm and concentrated, or else they acquire another form, their demon form. For this reason, in my insane mind, I picture them having their demon form as their natural form but having to keep their (hot) human form especially during the exchanging program. (I don’t know if this one made sense, in my head, I swear it made a lot of sense. I never had a problem with this on the game but this was only me at 2 am trying to understand why they are so hot).
