Agh, omg, I-
I love him.

In which (Y/n) tries to hypnotise Jamil into taking care of himself a little bit more. It miraculously works — but it seems like somewhere along the way, something drastically went wrong; well, it's her own fault, really.
She was only joking around when she instead hypnotised him into thinking that they are a couple. But now, Jamil keeps on being all clingy, sticking by her side at all times.
Suggestion by @poisonapplenecklace.
"So, the book from the library first says to relax, Jamil!"
The brunet rolled his eyes at you, letting out a little yawn as he put his chin into his palm. At his antics, you let out a frustrated huff. You never had anticipated him to be so willing when you had asked him to let himself be hypnotised by you — of course you should have known that the hypnosis-master would belittle even the slightest move you made.
Shifting in his desk chair, Jamil's index finger impatiently tapped against the surface of the furniture. He had somewhere to be, and something to do. You let out a little sigh as you hopped down from the desk to position yourself in front of him, taking deep breaths in and out. Pulling out the beautiful silver pocket watch that you had found somewhere in Ramshackle dorm, probably belonging to a previous inhabitant, you let out a nervous yet excited huff.
"I'm relaxed," Jamil said, huffing to blow a strand out of his hair. You swore you could see him grin from under the portion of brown hair that still covered his smug face. "You are the one who should relax, (Y/n)."
Narrowing your eyes at him, you simply crossed your arms in protest. For a moment, you simply stared at one another, his eyes seemingly drawing you closer and closer — until your faces were barely centimetres apart. You jumped back when you felt his fingers grazing against your cheek. With red cheeks, you grew angry at yourself that you let him hypnotise you so easily. Jamil simply let out a few snickers that no one else aside from the two of you inside of his bedroom could hear.
"...you sneaky little snake," you said, pouting. Rolling your eyes to get rid of the heat that had invaded your face, you raised the pocket watch to dangle in front of his seemingly glowing eyes. He simply watched the object in disinterest, his eyes more often than not gazing at your face when you weren't looking. Tapping your chin with your other finger, you let out a confused hum. "Anyway... so I just swing this pocket watch from left to right until you enter a dazed state? At least that's what I've seen those magicians do on TV—"
"Just try it out," Jamil cooed, grinning mischievously. "Though I doubt anything will happen."
You raised your index finger to wag it in front of his eyes, as if scolding him. "Don't you dare doubt me!" You glowered down at him, only evoking a few chuckles and mutters about how cute you were with how worked up you got about this. Trying to ignore his teasing as best as you could, you shakily started to swing the pendant left to right in an enchanting motion. "Okay, here we go—"
"Ooooh~ I'm so entranced!" Jamil cooed mockingly, the little grin on his lips only growing. "I'm right caught in your spell..." His smug expression caused your heart to skip a beat; you loved it whenever he looked at you that way, but you would never admit it to him.
Sighing, your eyes fluttered close for a second. "Jamil, that's not funny..." you mumbled, but received no audible answer. Eyes opening in confusion, you almost yelped in shock when you found the silent boy's gaze mindlessly following the pendant that was still swinging back and forth. "Jamil? Jamil! I stole your hoodie the other day—"
Your eyebrows furrowed up when you received no reply because that should have made him jump up and strangle you if he had heard that. You removed the pendant from his vision, instead waving around with your hand. "Huh, no response..."
"I am at your... command..." Jamil slurred, like a mindless zombie. You froze in your moves, and your lips curled up into a big grin upon realising that this meant success.
"Oh? It's working! Jamil, it's working!" you cheered, jumping up and down in utter happiness. The male didn't even so much as flinch when your happy screams filled his ears. Once you had calmed down enough to form rational thoughts, you put away the pendant, and bent down to his eye level, bringing your face closer to his. "Hm... I guess I need to go on..."
Jamil's eyes seemed to be glossed over, giving them a distant appearance. "What can I do for you, Mistress?" he asked, his voice monotonous and flat.
"Jamil, I want you to relax and take care of yourself— or wait..." That's when your worried frown was replaced by a mischievous grin. Extending your fingers to grab his chin, you somehow felt the power going to your head even though you've only possessed it for a few seconds now. "Can I just... command you to anything?" you asked as you ran your thumb over his bottom lip.
Jamil found it hard not to flinch, but eventually managed to press out a relatively quick, "Yes." On the outside, he seemed composed, but on the inside he was melting into a puddle. But— he had to stay in role.
You let out a little laugh as you played with a particular thought for a minute. "Hm... this may sound desperate and sad... but— what if I commanded you into thinking you were my boyfriend, Jamil? Heh, joking! Anyway— I just want you to rest more." Giggling to yourself, enjoying your own bad humour, you removed your fingers from his chin, which almost made Jamil sigh in disappointment — but he managed to compose himself in the last moment. Humming, you raised your hand until it was in front of his eyes. "Once I snap my fingers, you shall return back to your original state."
Jamil nodded stiffly.
"Hehe, you're actually pretty cute when you almost drool like that~" you cooed, which made the corners of his lips twitch up into a little grin for a little bit until they returned to their former void expression. Snapping your fingers, you gazed at him expectantly for a reaction. "Anyway—"
Jamil's torso tilted forward, forcing you to wrap your arms around him to keep him steady. A little grin appeared on his lips as he nuzzled his nose in your neck, letting out a satisfied sigh. Before he could protest, you pushed him back onto his chair, letting out a heaving groan at how heavy he was. "Hm? What happened?" he asked innocently, feigning confusion, although his eyes hid mischief.
"Oh~ nothing," you cooed, too caught up in your pride to realise that something was amiss. Patting his head, you pulled him up to his feet with a lot of effort before guiding him over to his bed. "Anyway, how about you go rest a little bit now? I'm sure you're exhausted from chasing after Kalim today."
He let out a drawn-out sigh as he climbed into his bed, finally feeling the exhaustion and tiredness he had pushed aside for weeks crashing down on him. "Oh yes, I really need some rest! Oof, it feels like I haven't laid down in years—" His head hitting the pillow, he felt his eyelids growing heavy, but he couldn't fall asleep just yet.
"Probably because that's the case," you mused as you pulled his blanket up to his chin, tugging him in like a mother would do with her child. With a gentle kiss to his forehead that made a silly smile appear on his lips, you distanced yourself from his bedside. "Now, sleep well."
Before you could get far, you were stopped by a hand wrapping itself around your wrist. It pulled you back, sending you stumbling backwards with a little yelp. "Where are you going, little mouse?" Jamil cooed as he slowly but surely pulled you back towards him. You turned around to find an uncharacteristically childish pout on his face. "You won't cuddle with me? How mean..."
"Cuddling?!" you exclaimed in shock. He hummed, unfazed, as he simply pulled you into the bed, so that you lay right next to him. Burying his face in your hair, he wrapped his arms around your waist securely. The blanket was thrown to the end of the bed, all bundled up and long forgotten.
"We're in a relationship, aren't we?" he asked, laughing. "Isn't that perfectly normal?"
That's when it dawned on you. You shot up, startling him and causing him to let out an annoyed hiss. "Wait—" You took deep breaths, trying to calm your rapidly beating heart. Frozen in fear and panic, you felt your heart sink in horror at the thought of what was happening. "When did we become a couple— Oh no... I just messed up big time! I shouldn't have made that boyfriend joke when hypnotising you—"
"Hmm... haven't we always been together?" Jamil asked, a little bit strained when he had to push you back down into the bed rather forcefully. You thrashed around due to not being able breathe when he pressed your face into his chest. Soft whispers and cooes left his lips. "You're so forgetful, my little mouse~ but that makes you all the more cuter!"
Sobbing internally, you cried out, "Why must you be so stupid (Y/n)! Why why why—"
"Oh? What's gotten into you? My little mouse isn't stupid..." Jamil mused, running his hand through your hair. "Most of the times~" Soft laughter escaped his lips as he finally felt relaxed and calm for the first time in what seemed like forever.
Giving up with wanting to escape, you simply let out a frustrated groan. "You're making me blush— while also making me angry."
"I would be a bad boyfriend if I didn't," he cooed, finally letting you pull your head back. You gasped and yelped for air like you had just been on the brink of drowning as you flopped onto the mattress, your chest heaving up and down in utter stress — not only because of the lack of air, but also because of embarrassing realisation dawning upon you that your shameful wish had come true.
"Jamil, I'm not sure what happened... but I'll correct this with just a snap!" you cried out, sitting up and grabbing him by his shoulders. He stared up at you with wide eyes when you pressed your middle finger and thumb together, just about to snap up fingers. With reflexes as quick as lightning, he threw you over and climbed on top of you, his hands pinning yours against the mattress, thus preventing yours from moving — and especially from snapping your fingers. "J-Jamil? What are you doing?"
You ogled him with wide eyes, shocked at his sudden move. He intertwined his fingers with yours, successfully preventing you from snapping them.
"No finger snapping, dearest." He laughed maniacally whilst bringing his face closer to yours, causing you to wince and back up as much as you could. His expression softening, he pressed a kiss to your cheek, causing you to squirm even harder. "Now, let's rest, alright?"
Before Jamil could climb off of you and throw himself back onto the bed again, the door swung open to reveal a brightly smiling Kalim. You craned your neck up, releasing a relieved sigh when you realised who it was.
"Kalim! Kalim! Help me!" you yelled, causing Jamil's gaze to snap back towards you and growl at you menacingly. You didn't let yourself be intimidated, and only continued yelling at the white-haired boy who stood frozen in the door frame. "Help me fix my mess!"
At first, Kalim's smile widened when he thought that you were having a group-hug, but then his cheeks reddened when he realised how precarious the scene in front of him really looked. He let out a few embarrassed squeaks as he hid his eyes behind his shaking hands. "My innocent eyes—" he yelled, crying.
"Kalim, get out," Jamil hissed, his eyes glaring daggers at the intruder standing in the entrance to his room. "Can't you see we're having some private time?"
"I'm sorry for intruding!" Kalim stuttered out, turning around clumsily before he ran out. "I-I'll go get some holy tear drops to cleanse my eyes..."
"Kalim, don't leave me!" you yelled after him, temporarily being able to sit up because Jamil rolled onto his side again. But the brunet would have none of your pleas for rescue, and instead pulled you back down into his arms again.
Jamil let out a content sigh as he held you close to him. Closing his eyes in utter delight, he tried to drift off to well-earned slumber. "Hmm, good— no more disturbances..." he mumbled to himself, only to have to pry his eyes open again when he found you thrashing around in his arms — especially trying to get your hands out of his hold so you could drag him out of the hypnosis with a snap of your fingers. "Hey, stop squirming like that, little mouse..." Jamil narrowed his eyes at you, only tightening his grasp around your frame.
For a moment, you stopped to turn around and gaze into his eyes. Sighing guiltily, you cried out, "Jamil... as much as I want to enjoy this, I feel like I'm using you... You can't consent to this, can you?"
"Oh, my naive little mouse..." Jamil whispered into your ear, laughing. "Has no one ever told you that struggling in a cobra's grasp makes it worse?"
Closing your eyes, you felt guilty enough to cry. "Jamil, I—"
"Shh, everything will be alright..." he murmured, his soothing voice somehow managing to make you feel at peace all out of a sudden. When you relaxed into his arms, a satisfied smile appeared on his lips. "What a good mouse you are."
"Maybe..." you muttered as your eyes fluttered close, "maybe this isn't so bad..."
Your words evoked a few chuckles from Jamil. "Right? I knew you would come around." Pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head, he muttered, "I love you, (Y/n)."
Your eyes snapped open in utter surprise at his words, only to fall in disappointment upon realising that his words weren't genuine due to the effect of the hypnosis you had accidentally managed to put on him. Sighing, you felt your heart clench in frustration. "You won't remember any of this once we fix it... but I love you too, Jamil..."
The next days had been a pure struggle, especially for the Scarabia dorm. Like always, Kalim would make a mess everywhere he turned, but now, Jamil wouldn't always be there to clean after his master because the vice dorm leader was so busy spending time with his 'girlfriend'.
Slowly, everyone was growing scared after days and days of not being able to bring back the old Jamil. Ironically, almost every student from the dorm had grown to be grateful for everything he did to keep Kalim in check and make sure he wouldn't get into even more trouble. Funny, how they learnt to appreciate Jamil, now that he wasn't able to properly do his job anymore.
Especially today was a chaotic day in the Scarabia dorm again: When Jamil entered the common room with a love-struck face on his face, he was greeted with the sight of Kalim standing amidst chaos and ruins that seemed to resemble a ravenous frontier. The scene managed to wipe the smile off the vice dorm leader's face, and he surprisingly or not surprisingly returned to his original self.
Kalim let out a few sheepish chuckles when he found his friend standing in the door way to the common room. Rubbing his neck, he explained, "Jamil, I need your help! I think I managed to destroy the living room again—"
"You think?" Jamil asked with a raised eyebrow, cracking the bones in his back to ready himself for cleaning this whole mess up. Shoving the smaller boy out of the common room with a scowl on his face, the vice leader let out an annoyed yet casual groan. "Okay, hush— get out of here... I'll clean it up."
"Thanks, Jamil! You're the best!" Kalim exclaimed before racing off into the direction of the kitchen, which made Jamil worry even more. "I'll go make myself some curry now."
Jamil rubbed his temples in utter exhaustion. "That boy..." he mumbled under his breath as he summoned his broom out of thin air, sweeping the debris and dust from the marble floor of the lounge. "At least (Y/n) isn't around right now..." Just as he had uttered those words, he heard excited footsteps approaching his location. Thinking it was just Kalim again, Jamil didn't bother looking him up.
Much to his surpise, it wasn't Scarabia's dorm leader that greeted him but you. Smiling brightly, you seemingly stormed over to Jamil, whose broom fell to the ground out of surprise at your sudden appearance. "Jamil! How are you doing?" you asked once you arrived in front of him, laughing when that adorable love-struck expression appeared on his face again. Your face turned into a little frown as you let your gaze wander across the destroyed room. "Oh— so Kalim managed to wreck the common room the third time in two days, huh."
Jamil tensed and let out a little sigh, realising that he had to make that hypnotised gleam appear in his eyes again. Blinking, he put up an overly adoring smile — so much that it almost seemed comical. "O-Oh, hello (Y/n)!" he exclaimed, smiling from ear to ear. "I missed you!" Wrapping his arms around you, he felt his shoulders relax when he felt your hands resting on his back in return.
"A-Ah, please don't squeeze so tight, Jamil—" you stuttered out, pulling away with great effort. Once you succeeded, you smiled up at him excitedly, not able to wait to tell him off the wonderful news. "I missed you, too— and listen, we might even have a cure for my hypnosis!"
Not able to help himself, Jamil shot you a dumbfounded look. "A... cure?" he repeated, feeling like laughing to himself at how hilarious the situation seemed to become the more time passed on. Raising an eyebrow, he couldn't help but grin. "Why would you need a cure?"
Your eyes fell in sadness, and you did everything you could to avoid his direct gaze in shame. "Because this can't go on," you admitted, causing his heart to squeeze painfully. "Listen, as much as I... enjoy you being my boyfriend, Scarabia is a mess without you. I'll just have to accept that we won't ever be more than friends— I'm not egotistical enough to tear a whole dorm into ruins just because of my own feelings."
Jamil felt like laughing and screaming at the same time; in the end, he opted for grinning smugly. "You idiot," he remarked in a casual tone while he snorted softly.
"Jamil?" Tilting your head to the side on confusion, you tried your best to understand his sudden change in demeanour, but simply couldn't get an understanding of what was going on inside of his pretty head.
"Do you really think I've been hypnotised all this time?" he asked, his voice playfully haughty. He grabbed your chin with his fingers — just the way you had done when you had 'hypnotised' him. Your cheeks grew red. "Oh, my little mouse, as if you could ever hypnotise me~ aside from enchanting me with your charm of course."
Eyes widening in realisation after minutes of deep thinking, you let out a gasp at your own idiocy. "What?! So all of this wasn't real?! Jamil, you idiot! I was worried to death—" you cried out while pounding your fists against his chest, not that he minded. Your actions only caused a few chuckles to escape his lips. Biting your lip, you looked up at him with fiery eyes. "Does this mean you simply faked all of this to mess with me!?"
Grinning, he nodded. "Precisely. It was a hard job to keep up the act when you were around while also having to clean up behind Kalim," he explained, proud of his own accomplishments, "but it was all worth it for all the cuddles and kisses I got. So this is how it feels to be loved and appreciated?"
"You— you sneaky snake!" you yelled, huffing as you tried to pry your face out of his hold, but Jamil would have none of that. His one arm tightened around your waist while the other hand remained holding onto your chin to keep you in place. Bringing his face closer to yours, he let out a chuckle when you narrowed your eyebrows furiously.
"Aww, come on. Now don't look at me like that~" he cooed playfully. "I prefer a smile on your lips, little mouse."
"I can't believe you managed to pull this off..." you muttered under your breath, more angry at yourself for having actually believed that you had managed to hypnotise the master of hypnosis himself. Your pout caused Jamil to start laughing.
"Well, I didn't even have to act a lot, truth be told. All of this were just things I've always wanted to do with you — call you my girlfriend, cuddle with you, cook you food, getting drowned in affection and attention—" Jamil trailed off, grinning smugly while also exhaling dreamily.
Your eyes widenening, you let out a sharp gasp. "Wait... so everything you said and did was not an act?"
"Of course it wasn't an act." He rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue, as if all of this was painfully obvious. His eyes softened when he glanced upon your confused frown. "The whole acting hypnotised thing was just an excuse to get closer to you, hehe. And well, it was quite the success! You told me a lot of things, thinking I wouldn't remember them~ 'I love you too, Jamil,' was your favourite, wasn't it? Come on, say it again for me."
"...I can't believe you played me like that..."
Letting go of your chin, he buried his face in your neck before you could protest. The way he left kisses on your neck made your cheeks heat up in embarrassment. Your legs started shaking, and you would have collapsed if it weren't for him holding you. "You'll have to be careful around me," Jamil mumbled mischievously as his teeth teasingly grazed your skin. "Snakes bite, after all~"
"J-Jamil!" you gasped in surprise, your shaky arms wrapping around his neck for support. He raised his head so that his lips grazed your ear.
"Nothing has to change, little mouse. Just say you'll be mine and I'll treat you like this every day," he whispered softly. "Minus all of Scarabia crumbling into ruins because of Kalim... but you know what I mean."
"Oh Jamil..." you murmured with a close-eyed smile. "I'm yours. And you're mine, Jamil."
He immediately pulled away when your words reached his ears. His eyes glowing in utter joy and happiness, he smiled down at you as if you were the most precious jewel he had ever laid eyes upon. "Finally... I have something to call my own..." he said, his voice breaking slightly at the end. "Thank you, little mouse... I love you..."
He pressed his lips against yours, letting free all of his yearning and longing he had been harbouring for the last couple of weeks. You reciprocated eagerly, smiling into the kiss.
"I love you too, Jamil..." you replied after you pulled away. Grinning up at him, you couldn't help but let out a laugh at how adorable he looked. "Actually, the cure was going to be a True Love's Kiss— so I guess you're cured now!"
