Burning Questions About Stranger Things

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4 UP AHEAD!!! So I'm re-watching Stranger Things with a friend and I've noticed a few things. The Demogorgon also has mind powers like Eleven. If you watch the first episode, when Will was being chased by the Demogorgon he runs into his house and locks the door but the monster unlocks the door. But I wonder why that was the only time the monster ever used these powers. Secondly, If Vecna was after Eleven the entire time why did the monsters like the Demogorgon and Mindflayer go after Will? We know from the episode where Jonathan and nancy try and trap the monster that it's attracted to blood but it's not like Will was injured in the first episode. He did fall off his bike but wasn't hurt. And it's not like Will had met Eleven yet so he didn't have any connection to her at that point in time. But how does Eleven know of Will when the guys mention to her that their friend is missing because by the time they found Eleven Will was already in The Upside Down. DUFFER BROTHERS, I NEED ANSWERS!!!
