This is all very true, and tbh I like how Ace just gives a piece of his mind to anyone regardless on who they are. That’s probably my favorite part of his character tbh
An addendum: Ace in the Ghost Marriage event. He gave a brutal reality check to Eliza while also unintentionally projecting what he wants in a romantic/marriage partner (the respective personal story adds onto this where despite Ace playing it up as something he said to snap her out of her ideals, Ortho exposes him saying he wasn’t lying)
Side note: it’s a lot more amusing reading this with Ace’s name censored even if it’s a serious answer-
I don't like Ace because he's kind of a jerk to the player sometimes, and he acts all haughty and it just really ticks me off. I dont know, I guess their just red flags for me. Sorry for rambling.
I'm just gonna head on and say it's okay, you're validated to dislike a character, and thank you for not putting it in a rude way unlike... the previous encounter of Grim slander. I didn't even post what they said because it was just downright rude.
Well... he is a jerk, and a brat on surface level, there's a lot to A*e when first meets the eye.
*** This is where my rambling never cease.
Like all the other pathetic boys in NRC, A*e just doesn't wanna admit he's soft for Yuu, the MC. Throughout the entire game, it would seem a little uncharacteristic of him and you and many others would probably tease, which would in turn have him feel embarrassed, so he doesn't make it that obvious.
At least, with speech.
The very first episode of when Riddle insults Yuu and their (presumed) upbringing, A*e punched him for it, he got angry on our behalf. He didn't even care whether he'd be disqualified or not, he just wants to defend Honey Yuu, his girlfriend friend.
Episode 4, A*e hurried back to NRC almost immediately to find Yuu and whether or not their in danger, just right after Yuu messaged him that they were trapped in Scarabia and he even states how far the journey is from his hometown to NRC. I think they took a bus, then a plane, a train, and switching? Yeah, but they took public transportation even knowing that the portal door is closed.
The whole Endless Halloween had A*e freaking out over Yuu, Deuce and Grim's whereabouts, finds out Malleus trolled them, and let me remind you, EVERYONE (except Lilia and Silver cuz obviously) IS SCARED OF MALLEUS, ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WIZARDS- and he just gave the fae a piece of his mind because Yuu could've gotten hurt or possessed by a ghost.
Recently for Episode 6, he was yet again worried for ask, and got so mad at us (mom style) that he bonk us, because he was just super worried that his friend went to some Mission Impossible undercover, and Yuu could've died, especially how they also could've lost and be held hostage, just KNOWING the fact that there's evil robots that tore into the school and successfully kidnap all the magic students who overblotted, that had got his worriedness skyrocketing, for Yuu and Grim's safety.
A*e also isn't dumb, in a way. Sure, he may be reckless, impulsive, but he has high moral ground. Proof of when he said children shouldn't be parent's trophies and stuff in Episode 1, and also the Endless Halloween Night in his Groovy personal story, he rather speak up for how dangerous something was and point it out rather than keeping his mouth shut just because it's Malleus, the one almost everyone fears and would be considered crazy to talk back to him.
That's how much I can cram in because right now it's really late and I'm tired although I have WAY more to say :'))
Now, am I trying to persuade you to like A*e? I'm not forcing you, but it's just that... you know... he's not my FAVOURITE or anything like that, m-most definitely n0t- it's just that iN HIS DEFENCE is all I'm stating.
I- I mean, I'm not saying his flawless but he also have some good traits that accompanies his bad ones that makes him A*e Trappola, n-not that I find him attractive inside out, or that his personality as a whole to me is the reason why I have romantic feelings for him which I definitely DON'T, I DON'T HAVE ANY ROMANTIC ATTRACTIONS BECAUSE OF THESE TRAITS OF HIS, NO ROMANTIC ATTRACTIONS, CERTAINLY NOT-
but... he's not... that bad..
