I don’t know whether this years batch of the common cold leans more towards losing your voice or my body’s immune response has just changed but either way it’s fucking annoying. I *hate* asmr but no! No this is the second time this cold season I’ve been stuck sounding like the world’s shittiest asmr channel! And to top things off I’m three days in and still going strong, and I have classes I teach alone tomorrow and the day after, so if my voice isn’t back my options are either struggle through trying to teach dance at a whisper or cancel classes cause there’s no one available to cover me because my immune system chose the worst week possible to throw a hissy fit! :/

I was originally gonna wait to post this drawing with its partner, but I’ve been sitting on this for a month and haven’t had time to sit down and draw, so… yeah.
This piece was actually really fun for me, as my first real foray into nsfw themes! I've drawn non-sexual nudity before, but it was really fun to see how much I could imply without directly showing the act. I might've gotten a bit carried away adding the hickies, but what can I say it was surprisingly enjoyable. The face was also a nice challenge, since my asexual and extremely sex-repulsed ass has no idea what is and isn't a sexy facial expression. When I asked my allo sister she said I did well, so imma have to take her word for it. And of course, the slight freckles and lichtenberg scarring were super fun.

i think i vaguely remember you mentioning that you had ideas about continuing the death defying ficlet rocky road right? are you still excited by the idea, and what shenanigans do you have planned if you do continue?
A death defying fic has been something I've wanted to write for ages. I think that ficlet has a really nice chance of been something short and cute to make/let me finally write one! (I also love the fuck buddies masked one for the Titans feels and some day want to do a Talon!Dick fic.)
For that one... obviously Danny has the Bats in chaos, but if it was big enough to call Dick in on date night, something big is going down so they have to shove it all aside to deal with later.
Dick insists on going back to Danny that night which some Bats don't want because what if he's a threat? For there... honestly I don't know!
Could take it where the Bats are all hand son deck to try to find out more about Danny. Like they ran a basic background check but now need to do a better one. Or try to stalk him, but Danny always knows they're there. So he walks right over to Tim to give him a coffee, or drag Cass to a meal, or give Jason a book he borrowed. Danny is completely nonchalant about this all.
The Bats are just !!! but Dick won't let them schedule the Big Dinner while Danny is studying for midterms. And maybe being Dick he's using that as an excuse not to ask too many questions himself and keep avoiding the change it will all bring.
Meanwhile Danny just does increasingly ghostly things trying to get Dick to just ask him already.

More ghost speak
Hmph. I wanna draw but don’t have any of my art supplies on me, so fuck it let’s do some worldbuilding instead. A while ago I made a post on Danny’s ghost speak, which I headcanon as sounding like a variety of sounds related to a the ghost in question’s death. Usually there’s two or three sounds either layered on top of each other or in sequence, and which specific sounds are used depends on what’s being said. Verbally it’s very much a Vibes kinda language, so not all the sounds are necessarily bad/scary.
So, with all that being said, let’s make this dpxdc and make an incomplete list of the sounds of Jason’s ghost speak!
-a child’s joyful laughter
-deranged, manic laughter
-broken, gasping sobs
-the sound of metal hitting flesh
-the crack of bones breaking
-the tick, tick, ticking of a bomb
-fire crackling
-a young voice begging, please make it stop
-wind rushing past your ears
-a low, rumbling voice, sounding of safety and pride

Death echoes
So a while ago, i found this dp x dc post that had a really interesting lore headcanon for Danny’s ghostly wail. Idk if I’ll be able to find it again, I’ll link it here if I do, but essentially it posited that every ghost has something called a “death echo”, which is an ability unique to them based heavily on their deaths. These echoes are the most powerful move in a ghost’s moveset, but they’re also extremely volatile and draining, typically damaging the ghost in some way when used, with Danny’s being his Wail because he died screaming. The original post then went on to some really cool halfa!Jason ideas based on these death echoes, but for this lil snippet with an extremely long intro I’d like to focus on Danny a bit more.
Edit: Apparently I may have extrapolated a lot of the actual lore behind these death echos myself? The inspiration post was a lot longer in my memories. Or I might’ve mushed multiple posts into one mental box and then forgot lol. So a lot of the actual detail from this point on is seemingly mostly original material? I think? Idk man, sometimes my brain spits out information without giving me any clues as to where it got that information. Anyway, this post got kinda long and since I’m… decently sure this is where I shifted from summarizing @ailithnight’s post to writing all my own thoughts I figured here would be a good place to throw the cut lol.
