Calling All Hobbit Creators!

Have you heard of a little event called Fandom Trumps Hate??

I promise there's nothing nasty, disturbing, or uncomfortable about this event! Creators sign-up with their wants/do not wants/ships/etc. and enter into the auction. The auction runs for a little under a week and the highest bidder will contact you with a prompt for you to create! All money goes to nonprofits.

What does it mean to be a creator?

You are offering some type of fanwork/labor such as:

Written Fanworks

Digital Art (including gifsets, moodboards, etc.)

Podfics

Fanvids

Fan Labor (including betaing, translating, offering specialist expertise, etc.)

How long do I have to create the work?

That's the best part! You have all year. Works can be turned in any time between receiving the prompt and December 31st.

How do I sign-up?

If you decide not to participate this time around, that's totally fine, but be sure to take a peek at the auction and support some of your favorite Hobbit creators!!

Penny stardewvalley makes me so sad because she's SO sensitive to, like, basically everything you tell her (telling her that you can't stand children while two children are nearby is a pretty lousy move but -1500 friendship?? being a jerk to other characters' faces typically loses you about 50 points, and if you choose the option labeled "creepy" and ask Leah for a kiss in her 2 heart event she physically hits you and kicks you out of her house but that's only -100 friendship…) and so if you want to befriend her it's a whole lot of lying and tiptoeing around her feelings (2 hearts: George was right but saying that makes her feel bad. 6 hearts: her food sucks but even if you try to be polite about it she feels like a failure; only a bald-faced lie pleases her. 8 hearts: saying you don't want to be tied down with a family loses you a little bit of friendship and she's only happy if you say you want kids) and I can't help but think she's a product of her environment. She lives in a trailer with only her mother, who gets drunk every night and has something of a temper. Penny's like a skittish rescue animal who won’t even come out from hiding under something unless you leave her lots of treats

Feeling right to belong to each other. Even going beyond the word 'soulmates'. To feel love, to yearn for each other to the very brinks of insanity?

Do you know that feeling, when you think your f/o(s) is just... Perfect. Ethereal. Otherwordly. In every way. Every single detail, trait, anything your mind thinks of, makes them just more and more beautiful in your eyes, if that is even possible. Your scale keeps breaking, conquering even the infinite?

Do you know that feeling, that you just admire them so much, you have literally no words? No words are able to describe the beaty of your lover(s). That they are so wonderful in your eyes you are left speechless?

Do you know that feeling, that you want to spend the rest of your life together, with them? It doesn't have to be marriage that will get you to stay with each other forever. Think of it as an oath, just between you. Knowing that YOU will always be their choice, and THEY will always be yours?

Imagine your F/O being really, truly infatuated with the way you look. Of course, you have plenty of other traits they adore and admire, but they would be lying if they said they didn’t find you the most beautiful person they’ve ever laid eyes on. Metal Sonic being voiceless and that being played for the horror, but less in the way of "he doesn't physically have a voice box" and more in the sense that he's voiceless metaphorically.

Not only does he not possess the voice box, but he doesn't have any tools to communicate. He's never offered pen and paper. Never given the opportunity to write digital reports except with only the briefest of words. Never taught even a scrap of sign language, as crude as such a communication would be due to his lack of facial features.

If you handed him a speech generating device, would he even know what to do with it?

Three other thoughts:

Finally getting around to rewatching the fight. Orym hits Laudna four times. Three are without seeing who it is (she drops Darkness after the third hit, only because she loses concentration). The fourth is after he attempts to take the sword with Grasping Vine (would not deal damage) and Laudna counterspells it. He attacks Laudna once knowingly and only after attempting an option that would not be an attack, and the main goal is disarmament.

In talking warlock comparisons I really do feel like some people do not split "I enjoy this character's choices as a character in the story being told," "I think this character is morally right in their choices," and "I understand why this character is making these choices." Like, to be clear, Fjord is my favorite character. I think if he'd unsealed Uk'otoa during Campaign 2, it would have been narratively fantastic, extremely understandable, and also like, a really bad thing to do. Similarly, this was a banger choice from Marisha to do as Laudna, and I understand where she's coming from, but yeah it's not morally defensible. My comparisons between Laudna and Fjord have always been "if you have an evil patron telling you to do bad things you have to either actively lean in or actively lean out for the story to be good," and personally I do not actually care if the character makes morally good or bad decisions. I happen to think Orym has pretty consistently been morally in the right, but a big part of why I like him is that Liam made a guy whose whole thing is Trying To Do Good By Those He Lost and so this ties in narratively as well. As I said about villain stans, I don't care if you stan villains; I start minding if you do so by trying to twist the story into a pretzel by deliberately (or through stupidity, to be fair) treating them as the good guy.

it continues to be the funniest shit when the no-brains anti-god squad sees literally any character go "I don't much care for the gods personally" and be like SEE THE BAD GUYS ARE THE VANGUARD AND IMPERIUM ONLY even though it's quite a leap from "I don't care about this group" to "they should be annihilated" and then when one of the gods sends a sign to a member of Bells Hells and is like "hi, you're doing great" they're either like well the god didn't show up to the party member I care about so this doesn't matter, or simply do not at any point address it.

maybe this is controversial but i promise... i promise you. if a certain blog won't write with you, or won't follow you back despite your attempts and your desperation to write with them... there's always another writer, another blog, another section of the community to explore. there are so many deeply passionate writers in this community who would jump at the chance to write with you. you don't have to whine and cry and vague and send anon hate and bully someone because they're selective, singleship, mutuals only, or they just don't want to follow your blog. leave them alone, and go find another person to write with.
