Just saw You won't be alone, and now I too want to be a shapeshifting vargätar witch and live different lives by ripping people open and put parts of them inside me, just to try something new

You won't be alone
Goran Stolevski, 2022
In concise terms, if you ever wondered what a love letter to humanity would look, a vivid, poetic and beautiful observation of what life really means, this is a film to be seen. Set in 19th century Macedonia, a young woman explores to find meaning and happiness in life through living the lives of others after being transformed into a witch against her will. There are so many strong themes conveyed subtly and emotionally through short, on the nose monologues within her thoughts and breathtaking visual narratives. The main character being mute was an excellent choice in story telling as well. I got very similar feelings in tone from Under the skin from 2013 in the sense that you almost feel like you are observing humanity and life from an entirely new and foreign perspective. Though out both there is also a sense of fascination with what they observe, There is also a feeling of disconnect that is hard to imitate, a feeling of disconnect but also of a need for connection and longing that I think everyone relates to on some level. its wonderful in its dark fantastical nature yet the heart of the story telling is in the lessons and philosophies it covers so eloquently that it feels like the first time you have experienced something like that. It is a slow build kind art film but despite the gore I don't know if I would call it horror. Some would think it sounds similar to The witch 2015 but these films have entirely different tones and plots
highly recommend, despite being slow and all subtitles.
9/10 stars

something happening on a mission, something personal that has soap spiralling; panic and rage making him reckless, thoughtless, and ghost has to draw the line
“you’re compromised johnny; you know what that means?”
“you’re not pulling me out,” soap immediately snarls. he turns on him and ghost barely recognises him; venomous fear turning his eyes to unyielding ice. "you're not sidelining me; i need to be in this-!"
but ghost has never been afraid of venom; spat or dripped straight from bared fangs.
he snakes out a hand grip the back of his neck, jerking him in a rough shake. "if you can't think, you can't be a soldier," he growls and he flinches like he's been struck.
his lips quiver as they twist in a sneer and he wrenches, trying to free himself of his hold.
ghost doesn't let him.
"it means you give your body to me because your head ain't fucking attached to it anymore."
soap stills, body trembling beneath his hand as he sucks in shaking breaths.
he tightens his grip, pulling him closer and digs his forehead hard into his. “it means you give yourself to me so i can have the weapon that you are and use you the way you're meant to be used."
the ice in soap's eyes fractures.
ghost’s voice drops to a whisper, spoken only to johnny, not this facade of vengeance and pain, and wills it to reach him through the glaciers.
“so i can keep you safe ‘til it’s done and i can bring you back.”

pls… for your consideration: ex/toxic baby daddy patrick 🤐
STAWP ‼️‼️‼️‼️ patrick is so deadbeat father who has a sudden realization he needs to get his shit together years later coded. like oh my god, i have a little babygirl and a hot wife and she sent me divore papers years ago but I've never signed that shit - we're still married - she's still my wife - thats still my kid -
its easy to hate patrick zweig from afar when hes just the man who broke your heart and left after he knocked you up - its not so easy to hate him when hes leaning against the doorframe of your home and then bending to his knees to meet the ball of sunshine thats your daughter - its not easy when you remember the nights spent dancing to electric music horribly until you collapsed into giggles into his chest, when you remember what his nose feels like skating up the collum of your throat, when you remember how he makes you laugh and how good he smells and how hes so intense, the way he looks at you, really looks at you and you want to sway into him, fall into his broad body and warm hands and feel him again.
but no. you have to remember the fights. the nights spent crying - while he lost himself in the bottom of a bottle - you have to remember the horror on his face when you'd told him you were pregnant like you'd slapped him. you have to remember how he left without a word.
he tells you he hasn't stopped thinking about you. he tells you he misses you. he tells you he was a fuckup and young and impulsive but he wants to try and be a man now, he wants to be a dad. he wants to take care of you.
you have the decency to wait until your daughter is tucked away in bed before you unravel. throw things. yell at him. tell him you hate him, he has no right to come here to you, to want to play house like its a game like its so easy. you dont need him. you dont, you've never needed anyone, especially not him.
he takes your anger - he lets you beat his chest. until you're wilted with exhaustion from it and then he reaches up to grasp your wrists. gentle. you startle to feel the wedding band around his finger - his eyes are sad. but he still has that fucking infuriating half quirk to his lips he'd always had.
"I'm not going anywhere."
"you can't fix anything, patrick. we're done. its over."
that fucking smirk. "yeah, we'll see about that."
