You don't know how you'd always find yourself here when with him, but you can't help but sigh as you shift your weight on your other leg while overlooking Port Ormos at this fine evening.

Right, of course, Alhaitham is doing one of his 'independent research' out here again and somehow you got roped in to wait with him for an informant he agreed to meet here. At night, for privacy, but it's already at the point of when the shop's are already closing for the night.

And there's still another hour. Archons, how long have you been standing here?

You stretch your leg this time, looking around before your gaze lands on Alhaitham sitting on a crate. The only place around to sit on.

With how much you've been shifting around, you're positive he'd already deduced that you were growing tired and desire to rest your legs for once.

His turquoise-orange gaze lifts from the book upon hearing your approach, leaning his other hand on his thigh. "What is it? Want me to lend you my book?"

"No thanks, not interested in the laws of motion right now." You pause. And only when he starts to lower his gaze back to his book did you finally speak what's been on your mind. "May I sit on your lap -"

"I thought you'd never ask." Before you know it, your pulled and sat on the thigh where he was previously leaning on, hand releasing your wrist to wrap around your waist. 'To make sure you don't slip,' he says.

And then he was back to reading, while you sat tense on his lap, trying to catch up with the present events.

The informant didn't arrive. Whether he lied to you or not, at the end of the day, you can't find it in yourself to complain.

Scary Sunset.

I'm concepting things way outta order in this story, but I'm sure you can piece things together. Context is for a storybeat where, after defeating and capturing Adagio (thus having all three sirens in her possession), Sunset enacts her revenge plot to release the sirens on Canterlot as Thea discovers she's been manipulated. In a confrontation, the two scuffle and fight over the siren orbs while Sunset struggles with her conflicting wants and emotions.

"Wrong" ways to hold a pencil:

I'm mostly curious as someone who has always held her pencil wrong. No matter what teachers/my mom ever did to try and teach me (pencil grips, elastic bands, etc) it just never worked. I wanna know how universal this experience is hdKJH

(rb for sample size, etc etc, the usual)

#clamtalk #polls #in my case it probably has to do with the joint hypermobility that my mom wasn't aware I had until too late to accommodate it #So i've always held my pencil in an index grip (or something somewhat like it; my index finger is higher up on the pencil than it should be #Also I put correct/wrong in quotes because like. While yes you could argue inherently there is a 'correct' vs. 'incorrect' way #regarding how much strain an incorrect grip can put on one's hands #I have never personally had issue with how i hold my pencil even if 'wrong.' The only problem I had was when my mom was trying #to force me to change it to hold it 'right.' Because that shit hurt my hands!#Once again probably due to the hypermobility!#So I dunno. Your diaphragm is the main force - pushing against the lungs at rest.#Your ribcage on the other hand is under a state of being pulled outwards. It *wants* to be as open as possible.#These to contradicting forces create a constant push and pull which assists in the ebb and flow of air. Most significantly with exhalation.#Now that being said - the primary action of inhalation ventilation is through control centers in your brainstem.#If you lose connection to that due to trauma you're going to need ventilation assistance.#Small note: Respiration is the cellular event of chemical exchange in the alveoli. Hi if you struggle with opening containers (jars, bottles, etc) because of poor grip strength or w/e, there's lid opener tools that range from fancy electronic ones to super cheap and basic ones and they can be an absolute game changer. I have one that looks like an angry can opener and now I can actually open bottles on my own without wanting to break down crying from the pain.

#i don't know how to explain mine it's got a lot of spikes #if you search 'lid opener' you'll find a bunch and you'll know it when you see it #i didn't want to put this in the actual post because i don't want it to be misinterpreted #but it's actually really humiliating being forced to ask someone to open a bottle for me just so that i can have a drink #especially when i've been working at it for a while and i can't really use my hand anymore from the strain

Always an experience watching the leftism leave FNAF fans when someone mentions that Scott Cawthon financially backed fascist politicians.

The switch from posting hardline leftist tweets about boycotts and signal boosts and critical takedowns of politicians and celebrities to ‘ohhh, well. everyone makes mistakes. who can blame him, listen he. he donated money to gay charities too. that makes it ok! a millionaire in his forties is allowed to have political beliefs. does it even matter? just let it go!’ is whiplash inducing. The antivaxxer celebrities have got to go, but this one horror dev who quietly handed wads of cash to antivax lawmakers? He’s chill, he can stay.

The charity thing is so funny too because suddenly utilitarian positive-negative point counting is the way to go. Maybe an abacus would help calculate the net good of donating to the Trevor Project minus donating thousands of dollars to Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. -10 points if I push a kid in a lake but +11 points if I help an old lady across the street, so I’m chill.
