Gunther headcanons bc I have Stardew Valley brain rot:
he’s tall, so he gets flustered when he encounters someone taller than him, and finds it attractive.
he has a southern accent. and he’s a gentleman.
he tries to flirt with sweet names, but he also uses them for people he likes platonically, so it doesn’t come across.
he fixates on museum artifacts and loves to info-dump.
he doesn’t come to events because he doesn’t like crowds or loud noises. if you enter the museum during one, he’s probably stocking/reorganizing the shelves.
he has trouble with social cues and distinguishing relationship/love types from one another.
he’s not really a dog or cat person. he likes reptiles, though.
he likes spicy food.
he lets jasmine braid his hair, even though she pulls and he’s somewhat touch averse.
he’s an amazing storyteller and teaches Penny a thing or two about holding the kids’ attention.
he absorbed the handsome cowboy personality from western movies he loved as a kid.
he was taught avoiding eye contact was impolite, so he never looks away.

EVERYONE STOP AND LOOK AT THIS PENDANT THAT MY UNCLE MADE FOR ME FOR MY BIRTHDAY!
(Said uncle is on the spectrum as much of my family are and has gotten really into jewellery-making since c.2021. And thus far he has only made jewellery as gifts for people he loves, most of which go to my aunt, but he has also given a handmade necklace to my grandmother (his mother) and now me. Hence why I feel a need to share this!! Because I love how autistic people share love for others!! It’s a rarity for us to say we love someone because actions are much more meaningful to us than words!!
And this pendant is especially special because not only did he make it for me, but he used serpentine as the stone which is a purposeful reference to many things I love (i.e. snakes and Harry Potter, specifically Slytherin-related things). Anyway, in return I also gave him some amethysts of mine I wasn’t particularly attached to for him to play around with and experiment on. But yes! I just had to share because I love this present (and him) so much!!)

There’s just something about the fact that Zim reads as So Autistic. Like, both in the sense that it’s easy to map his experiences as an alien secretly living on earth to Autistic experiences:
A lack of understanding of social cues and conventions
Tumblr media
The Anxieties of feeling like you have to fit in some arbitrary social standards or Something Bad will happen
Tumblr media
Unusual sensory sensitivities
Tumblr media
Pickiness about food
Tumblr media
General alienation
Tumblr media
Even the whole ‘fully grown alien disguised as a human child but he’s so immature he basically acts like a child’ shtick can really resonate with a sort of Growing Up Autistic Feeling of… being both far too mature and childish for your age at the same time.
And also in the sense that even in the context of comparing him to other Irkens...
He has problems with volume control
Tumblr media
And possibly audio processing
Tumblr media
And definitely with emotional regulation
Tumblr media
And is extremely impulsive
Tumblr media
And uses very unusual wordings and turn-of-phrases
Tumblr media
And experiences sensory overloads.
Tumblr media
And these aren't even Alien Things. That's just Zim being Zim. So he can be read as a metaphor for being Autistic and also as just having the Irken Equivalent of Autism
AND ALSO
His human arch-enemy Dib also has SO MUCH AUTISM VIBES
Like being single-mindedly obsessed with a special interest from a young age
Tumblr media
(The part where his interests alienate him from his peers at school and he only finds companionship with an assortment of fellow weirdos of various ages he met online is something I find especially relatable for my own experiences)
Also having problems with reading social cues
Tumblr media
And a tendency to rant and info-dump
Tumblr media
AND ALSO ALSO
There’s also Gaz
Tumblr media
Who is ALSO single-mindedly obsessed with a singular subject
Tumblr media
And it’s something that always gives her something to do with her hands
Tumblr media
And avoid eye-contact
Tumblr media
Which she generally prefers to avoid
Tumblr media
And also seems to dislike any sort of physical touch
Tumblr media
And either expresses her emotions in a way that is terribly understated or overstated
Tumblr media
And it could also apply to their dad too, who’s been obsessed with science stuff from a young age
Tumblr media
And also doesn’t seem to do so well with social interactions
Tumblr media
Outside of just, like, me looking back at my Autistic-but-unaware-of-it middle-school ass imprinting on this show and being like “oh yeah, That Makes Sense” - it’s also kinda darkly hilarious how this show is basically about two autistic boys who just fucking hate each other to death (plus one of the boys' extremely autistic and extremely dysfunctional family). I mean, in the real world Autistic Solidarity is so incredibly important, obviously. But Invader Zim, a show that was everything to me as a lil autistic teenager is all about that sweet sweet Autistic Hostility.

qsmp eggs as D&D characters because I can't help but fuse both of my current fixations together
Chayanne — Ive decided that every single egg is a dragonborn for the sake of simplicity, so that just brings me to figuring out class and subclass for each of them. I originally was thinking a simple fighter for Chayanne, but then, upon remembering what was quite literally an oath to protect everyone, decided he'd make a rather good paladin, particularly oath of devotion. he's devoted to keeping everybody safe, no matter the cost. if I were to give him a breath weapon, it'd be fire. he's a dragonborn paladin (devotion)!
Tallulah — Tallulah was always going to be a bard, are you kidding me? from there, looking through all the bard subclasses, I figured lore suited her best. she collects info! she gave qwil that book full of info about marigolds, she asks questions so she can know more about the world. yeah. she's a smart girl. dragonborn bard (lore).
Dapper — this is THE artificer. this autistic fuck (/affectionate bc me too buddy, me too) loves everything machinery, and he's fuckin good at it, too. considering his additional love for collecting animals, I've decided to make him a battle smith so he can have a steel defender. he would take very good care of it. I considered armorer due to the unique sets of armor I've seen him wear, but battle smith suited him just a tad better. he's a dragonborn artificer (battle smith).
Ramón — Ramón is also THE artificer! they are artificer pals. while Dapper focuses more on combat-ready mechanics, Ramon's been doing a lot of work on his elevator. also, bombs! fuck, he and qfit have so many bombs, they're practically their first line of defense. therefore, artillerist. he's good at throwing shit across the battlefield, staying stationary and hunkered down. dragonborn artificer (artillerist).
Leonarda — Leo was a little difficult. from the beginning, I knew I wanted her to be a primarily martial class, but I didn't want to leave her without any magic, either. so I figured a monk could be fitting due to their innate ki. considering. you know. dragon. I just had to give her ascendant dragon. dragonborn monk (ascendant dragon).
Bobby — oh yeah, this boy's a fighter alright. I considered barbarian for his tendency to sometimes throw tantrums, but it just wasn't right for him. I definitely considered gunslinger, but he's not particularly known for his guns, and I was eventually led to banneret, aka the purple dragon knights. he's definitely one of the braver kids, and I think his bold deeds could definitely inspire those around him. Bobby is a dragonborn fighter (banneret).
Richarlyson — he was kind of difficult! Richarlyson has picked up a number of skills from all six of his dads, making him fairly versatile and all-around skilled. I was, however, leaning a more martial class, and looked to monk first. none of the subclasses felt right, so I went bard due to their jack of all trades thing. wasn't right, so I thought about ranger, and that seemed like it could work due to their wide range of specialization. looking through subclasses, I picked monster slayer out of the bunch. just about all of his dads are terrorized by cucurucho in one way or another. he's practically got a sixth sense for the fucker now. Richarlyson's a dragonborn ranger (monster slayer).
Tilín — that's a rogue. yeah. that's a rogue. qQ himself taught them all about lying to other people to get what you want, and you're gonna tell me that's not a fucking rogue? right. rogue has a ton of interesting subclasses, but I felt like soulknife was a really interesting pick for her. soulknife rogues focus on the manipulation of the mind, fucking with a person's head to change their perception or easily slip by them. felt like they could use a little bit of magic, too, so he's got the psionic abilities that come with it. this is a dragonborn rogue (soulknife).
Juanaflippa — considered fighter gunslinger, but this is also a rogue! not a particularly magical one, though. Juanaflippa never really had much, always too busy shooting guns and coping with her parents' numerous divorces. HOWEVER, when you consider the whole necromancy element of her character (died, came back, fucking died again) on top of all the headcanons of her haunting the island, she's a pretty fun phantom. she's got an innate connection to death and the undead, and she knows what's dead when she sees it. I debated scout, but phantom was too cool to pass up. dragonborn rogue (phantom) for her.
Trump — I don't know shit about trump, but I like to think that if he survived longer, he would've taken after the crazy science aspect of both his dads, giving it a magical twist and going wizard. figured either evocation or abjuration would be good subclasses for him. decided on abjuration because damn, that's what this kid needed. dragonborn wizard (abjuration).
bonus:
gegg — plasmoid/changeling bard (valor). if you can find my other post on the English speakers as D&D classes, he's literally just slimecicle. nothing too special here. gegg.

Okay PLEASE I have to know your opinion-
So you know how sometimes you look at people and just like- yeah, they’d be a golden retriever for sure. Or a chihuahua.
If the Rise Turtles were a dog breed, what breed would you think they would be? I’m definitely seeing Donnie as a herding dog wanting everything to be organized his way, Leo as a guard dog, Raph would definitely be a giant ass clumsy dog breed that doesn’t realize how big he is. Mikey has got to be some type of hyper terrier of sorts.
fascinating question!!! behold the power of an autistic person who loves dogs and tmnt
donnie: dachshund
wow sam favorite breed for favorite turtle OK LISTEN THO!!! dachshunds are sooo smart but stubborn as hell and want to do things Their Way. picking up a new toy and instantly playing with it so hard it explodes into fluff. taking direction well but only if you have a good relationship with them and they trust you. sassy attitudes, a penchant to attach themselves to one or two people and be distant to others, looks great in cute clothes, a fragile back that needs protecting--DRINK THE KOOLAID!!!
leo: akita
so this one was actually also very easy for me. akita are very much Family Over Everyone Else, and i always see leo as being very protective of his brothers (to a self-destructive point even). they don't trust other dogs or animals (much like leo doesn't trust other mutants or yokai), but when it comes to their people, they're goofy little goobers that love to play and have fun and snuggle. they're super smart, but need good training in order to achieve their potential, otherwise they'll have a tendency to do their own thing and that never ends well. wow who put this picture of leonardo hamato in the akc handbook
raph: great dane
i was torn on this one thinking some kind of livestock guardian dog at first since he worries about his brothers so much and always puts their safety first. only problem is a lot of them are bred to have mild temperaments, and, uh, [gestures at raph]. for that reason, i settled on the great dane. they're guardian dogs who care intensely for their family and are very, very sweet. but their large size and caution against strangers is quite intimidating, and they need to be properly trained against being aggressive to strangers. also, yknow, big.
mikey: pumi
pumi are well-known small dogs that are work-hard, play-hard dogs with the CUTEST curly hair. sound familiar? they're pretty good at watching the family, but often times they're a bit too busy bouncing off in the corner because these dogs are like. adhd in canine form. always need stimulation. always need exercise. gotta bounce move play bark play run RAZZ MATAZZ. also they're cute and mikey is cute.

Tweels hc doodles + notes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goodness me, I've not been working on these for very long but here's all of what I've thought of within 2 days of thinking about them!! I basically started writing about them the moment I finished drawing "the fuck you brothers" post (9/24) (and today, 9/26) I totally have been thinking about them more after I wrote all this, so I will be continuing on with my hcs right here, under the cut :3 (keep in mind I have not yet played twst! If I get anything gravely wrong correct me!) (9/28, edit: I downloaded twst y'all...)
Both of the twins are autistic, just being on very different ends of er... intensity? Idk how to word that. I just mean that Floyd is someone who has trouble regulating his emotions and stims a lot. Jade doesn't stim as often, he probably would if he were infodumping about mushrooms/his terrariums or whatever else. I think I mean. That Jade suppressed his autistic tendencies by a lot to seem more like a gentleman, while Floyd doesn't really give much of a shit and probably doesn't even know he's autistic.
on that note they both have ADHD. AuDHD brothers.
Anyways as I way saying abt Floyd stimmies; He stims a LOT. Just, all the damn time. It gets so annoying for a lot of people and everyone knows he can't control it. His clingyness is also stimming, he's very touchy. A lot of stim toys don't actually help him but he does calm down significantly more when he's wearing headphones and listening to loud music. That's what stimulates him the most.
Jade only stims when excited, yeah I mentioned that. But did I mention he also stims a lot when stressed. In front of costumers, if he was stressed he might only fiddle with his fingers behind his back. But as soon as he gets away it's full body stimming time baby. Mans is not okay but he cannot let that mask slip!! (I forgot the word before, but I meant to say in my first dotpoint that jade is better at masking than Floyd!!)
Floyd mcr liker >_< (songs about depression and drugs to think about violence to!) Floyd also likes shit like "41 mins of roblox music" or any spongebob music. skull emoji.
Jade Laufey liker :33 (calm songs to think about violence to!)
Floyd likes dancing around in his room to music. Like really getting into it. Putting one song on loop and doing the same dance moves over and over again. (stimming) (oh my god I'm PROJECTING AGAIN stop....)
Jade likes drawing mushrooms. He's really good at drawing nature and when I say "good" I mean if you looked at it, you'd think it was a picture. Like abnormally good for someone who used to not even have paper available...
I saw this from a moot once on twitter I think, but they both (+ Azul) probably had a hard time adjusting to walking around everywhere instead of swimming when they first came onto land. And I think there was something about holding on to bars on stairs WAYY too tight because they feel so wobbly going up them. Same with like, escalators? and elevators? didn't fucking trust them. And they still don't sometimes... Adding onto this I think that they'd both get really frustrated at first with it. Like genuinely really upset; Floyd dramatically falling to the floor and flailing around on the verge of tears while Jade punches the ground over and over... They obviously got better at land things after a long while but for a bit they were just so. not okay LOL
I think for casual/home clothes they'd both be really into big fluffy jumpers. massive fucking huge fluffy shits. They'd be all over the texture and it would be so so texture /pos drooling emoji
I had a little thing that I thought of where I would give Floyd Heart shaped eye shines PLUS an extra smaller not heart eye shine. And giving Jade a square shaped shine with no extra shines. It just makes so much sense to me. Like I can't explain it very well but if you get it, you get me. Do you get me...
WHICH leads me to say then that when Floyd gets MAD he would have NO eye shines. Do you get me. I totally make sense right/. And Jade getting happy about anything even if it doesn't show on his face it would totally show in his eyes... Which also brings me back to something I wrote in my doodle notes with the pupils being like cats... OUGH I'M GOING INSANE DO I MAKE SENSE
another thing my twt moot said !! Floyd would hate necklaces/rings/other accessories and jewelry! It relates back to my point about Floyd hating the feeling of tight clothes, and things touching his skin too much. I feel like if he had say, a necklace on for like 0.1s he would rip it the fuck off, destroying the necklace in the process
Floyd: :3 (aggressive)
Floyd loving to squeeze people but hurting them is 90% of the time on purpose hurting and 10% accidental hurting and when it IS accidental he gets so upset about it. I like to think Floyd is the more emotional out of the two... just so many emotions in that boy. like he just !! wants to give you love !!! but he's so strong he breaks ur ribs !!!! many of ur ribs!! ur honestly surprised you haven't punctured a lung yet!!!
On that note they BOTH are extremely touch starved. Floyd would fucking LOVE it if someone were to lay down on top of him for hours he would feel so squished!! and warm and nice!! and comfy!
Jade on the other hand, LOVES holding hands. holding ONTO something holding onto someONE.
Jade is a gift giver (love language) I bet you can't guess what Floyd is
His love language is Physical touch. Yeah
Jade getting people way too many gifts when it's a special occasion for them because he thinks they might think it's weird if he gets them a gift on any other day.
Floyd hyperpop liker (just overall really likes loud thrashy music or whatever)
Floyd also really got into those games where you have to beat the shit out of a dummy. He doesn't like ones where you have to TIME a hit to make it work (makes him annoyed bc he can't do it) Games like Pou I think....
While Jade enjoys colour by number or those hue games? just doing it in his free time.

I want to talk about Sara, because there's this tendency to dismiss her part in her own relationship with August, like because she's maybe new to relationships and because she's neurodivergent, she got tricked into being with him or taken advantage of or something, and I'm just not seeing it.
At the end of s1, Sara is explicitly taking her own future in her hands. I think that's actually one of the reasons that August even considered her a possible partner - instead of acting in the interest of other people (namely, Simon), she cuts a deal with August that serves her own interests. I think he really values that attitude, that sometimes you need to sacrifice things to get ahead, and the importance of self-motivation to get the things you want. So in that moment, she's embodying in that moment the things he values.
I think the moment Sara gets interested in August is after he kisses her in the stables. She didn't care about him either way but once he shows that tiny bit of interest she starts to consider him. And Sara explicitly wants what Felice has in s1--she wants the fancy clothes and the living on campus and the rich people sensibilities and yeah, maybe the boyfriend, too. And then once she starts thinking about it, it's easy to want those things so badly that she starts acting in service of actually gaining those things, even if that means sacrificing something of her own moral compass.
By s2, she feels this connection with August because they're the only ones who know what he did, and the only ones who know what she did to get herself ahead and live at Hillerska. I think as she spends more time with the girls and gets more of the ideas of what you're supposed to feel with a boy you love, she wants to actually try that out. Like, in a really standard teen need to experience everything kind of way. Yeah, the fact that she's autistic (as am I, the author of this post) influences the fact that she doesn't know all of the things the other girls take for granted in re: sex and love and how to navigate things with boys. But it doesn't really have anything to do with her drive to want to experience those things, and it's not about innocence as much as her not having friends at her old school and being less experienced because of that (and I think probably Simon is a little too overprotective, a thing he can't be in s2 when she's living away from home).
I also think it's maybe worth mentioning, that the girls initially accept Sara into their friend group because Felice likes her but also because she's kind of an anomaly at this school--she's not rich, she does things differently, and she looks to them in a way they don't look at each other. So like when she's questioning things they all know, they're kind of treating it like aw, honey most of the time. Until she steps on a social norm that they don't like, and then it's well, she never knew how to act, of course not. (which, honestly kudos to YR because that is a very real experience)
Anyway, back to August. Sara has agency the whole way through, she's just making bad decisions. She goes to him because she wants to sleep with him, she spends time with him because she likes it. She's not a poor little girl who thinks she's in love but she's being taken advantage of, she's a girl in love who makes some bad decisions because of it. Like, teenage love is SO STRONG because it's usually a newer emotion, and YR shows how that strength of emotion can lead to both good and bad decisions.
Plus, August genuinely likes Sara, too. Partly that's because he assumes she's more like him than she actually is. And partly because it seems like his idea of dating is usually really tied into clout chasing (ahem, Felice) and how to hold his status. Sara doesn't offer him anything status-wise, she's just actually into him, and she might line up with him in terms of goals. That's gotta be refreshing. Also, I love the part where he calls himself King and her Queen before promising not to hurt her. Like, that just hammers home the idea that he sees her as an equal not in status but in terms of like. morals, I guess? And that she sees this kindness in him that she thinks only she gets to see because they're in love, not because he usually hides it away since it doesn't benefit him personally in the world he lives in.
This is reinforced when August buys Rousseau and thinks that will stop Sara from leaving him after she finds out how he's been threatening Simon and taking everything but accountability for his own actions. Legitimately, August seems to think that she will support him, because she supported him with this secret before, and because, like him, she wants the personal status gain and can understand why he acts the way he does. The horse should prove his love, and the other things are just par for the course, baby, you get it, right?
She doesn't, though, and this isn't the point where we should be going oh no, August has been tricking this poor girl and she just finally is taking her life in her hands. It's the point where both of them are like shit, you aren't the person I thought you were, and it's because both of them make these big sweeping assumptions because that's easier than questioning really strong feelings like love and potentially losing that love right away. Sara sees that he's not the person she thought, but in a lot of ways, her whole story has been in her control.
She's just like Simon--young and in love and making choices that might blow up in her face and might make her see she's been wearing those rose-colored love glasses. But hell, at the time, those choices were the only ones to make, those choices were hers to make. Just because she chose badly doesn't mean she wasn't really choosing.
I just really love Sara, and I love how her neurodivergence is woven into the fabric of her story lines, but it's not the biggest thing. It's just like, how she sees the world, but she's still responsible for her own actions, and she's acting on love just like everyone else. And in high school, sometimes that means being in love with a boy who genuinely isn't very good for you.

reading update: January 2024
as long as I'm talking about The Gargoyle's Captive, let's discuss what else I've been reading this month.
Maeve Fly (CJ Leede, 2023) - I really liked this slender debut novel, which follows the titular Maeve Fly as she prowls LA like a homicidal alien, playing an unnamed ice princess in a certain theme park by day and indulging her murderous tendencies by night. Maeve is in a downward spiral; she's 27 years old and is preparing to lose her grandmother to illness and her only friend to a blossoming acting career. she sees no future for herself beyond losing the only two people she cares about and has no further goals, contenting herself with alcohol and porn while she rereads the same books, rewatches the same videos, and listens over and over to her playlist of Halloween music. Maeve is, it must be said, an abysmal loser, and I like her terrible melodrama a lot. I do think some of the hype is perhaps overstating the feminist credentials of this book; it sort of reminds me of when a college friend told me their favorite feminist movie was Suicide Squad (2016) because Harley Quinn was in it. Maeve talks a lot of big game about how women are always expected to have some tragedy to be deranged serial killers, while men are allowed to just do it, but it hit me as a little tryhard. there are a lot of books trying to be "the female American Psycho" right now - Eliza Clark's 2020 novel Boy Parts is frequently described as such - but it feels a bit too on the nose when Maeve's ultimate climactic rampage is directly inspired by a glimpse of the American Psycho novel. it's not that deep, but it is a gross, captivating read told from a fascinatingly cracked POV. check out Maeve Fly.
Laziness Does Not Exist (Devon Price, 2021) - yeah Devon Price is still following me (though my days are numbered, I'm sure) so it's a massive relief to say that I did like this book. Price has sort of become my self-help ride or die, mainly because a.) he's so much more self-aware than the average self-help writer that it feels kind of insulting to call him one and b.) he's actually dealing with topics that are relevant or interesting and providing actionable advice. while LDNE didn't engross me quite as hard as Unmasking Autism (while I am, famously, not autistic, I do believe in their beliefs, by which I mean I'm the token allistic among my close friends and I vastly prefer autistic company) it hit me hard in several unexpected pressure points. I'll happily admit that I can't relate to Price's interviewees who willingly work 50+ hours a week for jobs that hate them and are destroying their minds and bodies, but I still struggle to escape the perpetual sensation that a moment at rest is a moment wasted. It probably didn't help that I was reading this book while on vacation at my mother's, where I visited the beach almost daily and was so work-averse that we didn't even bother going grocery shopping because I didn't want to cook. and yet, despite getting dummy chill in some aspects of my life, I am still constantly possessed by a malevolent ghost insisting that I'm wasting my time and have never actually done Enough. maybe Price's next book, Unlearning Shame, will finally fix me; it's out in four days and god knows I'll be getting my hands on it as soon as humanly possible.
Patternmaster (Octavia E. Butler, 1976) - y'all know I love a messy political fantasy, and this is just... god, the absolute messiest. I thought Mind of My Mind was bad, but it turns out Mary's descendants are going to full-on reinvent feudalism with psychic powers, treating non-psychics as chattel and causing technological advancement to regress since they refuse to handle their problems with anything but psychic powers. and it's even got two brothers duking it out for the throne that will give them power over every bitchy psychic on earth! you love to see it. if I can be 100% honest I do think it's straight up bananagrams that this was the first book released in the series even though it's chronologically last; I genuinely cannot imagine caring enough to figure out what the fuck these people were talking about if I didn't have the previous four books for context. and even "context" may be generous; Octavia still has absolutely 0 interest in explaining what's up with the fucking outer space werewolves who are the psychics' #1 enemy. if I could have brunch with any person living or dead I would summon Butler up in a heartbeat to explain what the fuck her thought process was in plotting out this series over some mimosas, and I would take extensive notes on every word she said. an absolute genius and the uncontested queen of freak shit forever.
Thirsty Mermaids (Kat Leyh, 2021) - I purchased this graphic novel in November 2023 at a conference where I bumped into Queer Comics Peddler, my very favorite queer midwestern pop-up. running into them is always a delight, and this time I came with a question: could they give me a recommendation? the very nice people working offered up Thirsty Mermaids, which was the PERFECT companion for a long airplane ride. it's cute without being overly sappy, and avoids the trap of sacrificing a plot for the sake of checking off as many representation boxes as possible. the story is simple: three mermaids use a spell to turn into humans and go ashore in search of booze, only to realize in the morning that they don't know how to turn back. taken in by a generous bartender, they're faced with the reality of having to make money for the first time in their lives. hijinks ensue, but also a very sweet and warmhearted story about the friends looking out for one another as they try to figure out exactly where they belong and what home even means. also the artwork is GORGEOUS, with the mermaids' extremely memorable character designs being a real standout. if you're a graphic novel enthusiast, definitely check this out 🧜‍♀️
Sugar, Baby (Celine Saintclare, 2023) - Sugar, Baby came to me in a very similar way as Thirsty Mermaids: while visiting a witchy little bookstore that I was immediately charmed by, I asked the cashier what they would recommend. they offered up Maeve Fly (fab) and this novel, a stack of which was on the counter advertising an upcoming event with the author. neither have disappointed, so shout out to that one employee with the great taste! Sugar, Baby sees a young cleaner named Agnes, one of the only biracial women in her unnamed English town, befriending the daughter of a wealthy client and getting whisked away to her new friend's London lifestyle: crashing in an apartment with fellow models, staying out all night to party, and making money by going on dates with extravagantly wealthy older men. Agnes starts out having a swell time, but the cracks pretty swiftly start to form as she realizes how much more dependent she is on these men than her wealthy new friends and she begins to wonder exactly how much she's willing to diminish herself to get the bag. it's not a perfect first novel but it is a compelling one, a perfect airplane page-turner that crashes from glitzy to ghoulish and back with breakneck speed.
The Gargoyle's Captive (Katee Robert, 2023) - my full review is over on patreon for my darling supporters who want me dead (and picked this book in the first place, damn them to hell), but suffice to say this is a fun book to read if you like the sensation of your brain melting out of your nose, if you're really turned on by baby's first bdsm, you are not particularly concerned with trifling matters like "plot coherence" or "character motivation" or "writing that is complex and artful," and/or you've ever wanted to have sex with a dude whose penis is so big that you feel genuinely fear. also, hey, I forgot to include this in my patreon write-up so fuck it: Robert REFUSES to tell us what kind of food the protagonists are eating, ever. whenever they have a meal it's just "the food was placed on the table" "I took a bite" etc. drop me a HINT, man, come on! is it a protein? grain? starches? the only thing I know for sure that they're consuming is wine and a single marshmallow, and god does it show. it's just a very weird and distracting omission and it's absolutely not the worst thing about this book but it is a hill I'm willing to die complaining on.

You know what anon? you could be right on that one.
I usually read Genesis as autistic honestly, mostly because of his special interest in LOVELESS. Sometimes I think the reason Sephiroth and Genesis clash so badly is because their on vastly different sides of the spectrum but I could absolutely see Genesis as having AuDHD for sure!
I think the reason we read only Zack as ADHD is because he’s most classically the stereotype. But I’m kind of scrolling through Gens list of traits in my head and I’m like, “oh boy,”
Impulsive✅
Excessive talking/rambling✅
Emotional dysregulation ✅
Extreme impatience ✅
Tendency to take risks ✅
Restlessness✅
Yeah okay. Gens got ADHD…
I will say though, I’m terms of in canon I think a lot of it’s masked. Zack shows the disorganised/ inattentive side more than Genesis and while you could argue that there is very little organisation to his desertion, I think Genesis is passingly on a slightly different level to Zack.
Fanon Genesis has definitely been given the AuDHD stamp of approval however. Boys got all the hallmarks

Frank Frankly's Character Analysis !TW! Metal Health, M4ss4cr3, death
Eddie got his analysis so of course his husband would have one! (Fun Fact! despite Wally being the main character, Frank shows up in 18 outta 53 images!) fun facts outta the way, HERE WE GOOOO!!!
He likes Honesty and Truth - quote from his bio "He enjoys being frank, even if it means being Frank" i love this quote on his bio and this is the main reason they're my kin.
2. Frank is an Asperger? - Although he is confirmed to be autistic by @partycoffin , his personality makes him an Asperger (My tito has Aspergers so i know the gist of it). His official Bio points out his Bookworm Tendency, and his Grumpy attitude and that points it to Asperger Syndrome. So here's the traits
Resistance to or Obliviousness of Social Niceties, Blunt Honesty ("Frankness")
Non-Instinctual Facial Expression (his neutral face is a frown and not a smile like the others)
Comprehensive Academic Knowledge, with unique Specialist Subjects (Bookworm who loves Butterflies)
Periodic Emotional Volatility, "Meltdowns" (His Head Physically Spins when angry, to the point he is exhausted and dizzy; he also flaps his arms when excited)
Adherence to Formal/Traditional Decorum to navigate social situations (he has a few costume changes of his own, talk about that later)
Sensory Sensitivity and rigid dietary habits (Frank is shown making Green Gelatin Salad on two separate occasions, I'm guessing he likes the Color and Softness)
Anxious in otherwise Moderate Stress events (he was freakin out when carpooling with Wally)
Friends in different age groups (Poppy and Julie are confirmed as autistic so poppy might be older and julie maybe younger. i have friends a grade below me)
3. Entomologist job from a university??? - Y'all prolly already know this, Frank's love of butterflies isn't just a hobby non non, he is infact an entomologist, we can confirm this with the spinning head GIF, there's mounted butterfly specimens on his wall. Alright alright, Bug Collecting won't buy you a can of beans and traumatizing Howdy from the Bodega, UNLESS your an employee from a University to research the nearby Insect Wildlife. (It's not rlly mentioned in The Show but most of them have some sorta job) I think thats how Eddie reunited with Frank bcuz the university might be working in the military program Eddie enlisted in back in 1953. What is obvious is that This University MUST exist or frank and eddie wouldn't reunite.
4. Ethnicity Analysis Time!!!!! - Frank showed his ethnicity through his Valentines Card (thx frank!). Frank is wearing an Old-Time Safari Costume when catching Butterflies, but it's not just a stereotypical costume non non, the design is inspired by a VERY specific Uniform. he's wearing is a British Expedition Bush Jacket, topped with a matching Safari Pith Helmet, Light Tan Fabric of the Indian Variety. Although the card is in a pinkish hue, I can tell that the uniform is a tad bit lighter so its a Light Muslin Fabric. Yeah Sure, the British Invasion of the 60s revived the Shacket look for Women's Fashion, but Frank's pragmatic personality made it clear that he was issued that Expedition Uniform with Function planned in it. In addition with his Grey skin, Black hair and his iconic Unibrow, He is designed to look like The Stereotypical Depiction of a Gentleman Scientist of Hindoo Colonial Heritage or to simplified it, he came from Hindu / Indian origins.
5. Frank's Story - Frank Franklin was born in 1942 and was born Half Indian from his mother, He was fascinated with bugs and specifically Butterflies as they represent change and rebirth. He was teasedfor having his name as his last name (Have u guys even heard of Tweek Tweak?) even with his blunt honesty he made friends and even became childhood sweethearts with eddie. One day in Senior High, Eddie said that he was gonna enlist and may return 2 years later, Frank was worried as to add salt to the wound his soon to be Ex sunny became toxic and mean-spirited so ofc they broke up. 2 years later he was working as an Entomologist at St. Marioneta University (I made that up) and then he ran into Eddie, they were happy to see each other still okay so on an unknown date in 1969 they married in secret (THANKS ALOT TIME PERIOD D:<). months later in October 11 1969 a man named Ronald Dorelaine Isekai'd Frank, Eddie and some friends you know to the World of Welcome Home, but tragedy struck 4 years later, An event known as The Playfellow M4ss4cr3 killed the crew and the stars of the show but Dorelaine's body was not found and was reported MISSING and presumed dead, This marks the 50th year they were stuck in the void, Are they longing for Freedom or The Sweet release of DEATH?
Wanna hear a wholesome fun fact? In Hinduism, Butterflies are symbolic of birth, ancestry, marriage, deceased soul, death and divinity. No wonder why frank is so attached to Butterflies.
Thank you for reading! o(* ̄︶ ̄*)o

Autistic Anime Boys Side A Round 1 Match 11
Tumblr media
Propaganda:
Yu -
"Like all Persona protags, he hardly canonically speaks. Seems too cool for school but is actually just a cringefail guy who loves his little sis Nanako, likes to fish and make beef stew, and also likes cats. He also solves murders with his friends and forcibly teach people the power of friendship! And to paraphrase one of my mutuals, "I love Yu because he just stands there like •_• and then everyone falls in love with him. Gets accused of dating like every girl he meets, gets teased by every girl on the investigation team, has whatever he has going on with Yosuke. This kid and his autism swag". Oh yeah there was also originally gonna be an option for Yu to romance said Yosuke guy, including the confession dialogue being recorded in both Japanese and English, but it was removed because ALTUS hates gay people </3 But don't worry because there's a mod that adds this option back in because the devil works hard but gay JRPG fans work harder."
Sechs -
"As a teenager his father reveals to him that he's actually not human and then he essentially intellectualizes his own crisis toward that so hard that he talks himself into enacting a doomsday plan to make all life cease to exist so technically nobody will suffer anymore. So he takes two of his fellow wizards both of whom are absolutely infatuated with him (one of which is the closest the BlazBlue series gets to a canon gay man imo), takes a super powerful weapon from his father and in a sort of misunderstanding slash random event ends up killing him, and then the three of them flee the country and start trying to act out his plan. He pretty much just stares at people silently and only talks occasionally, when he does it's usually either a short sentence that is either blunt or vague. His magical attribute is gravity magic idk as someone with vestibular/proprioceptive sensory issues gravity magic is an autistic as hell magic to master in. He also has a funny name. In the joke route he is also written adding a sort of gap moe attribute to his tendency to not talk a lot where he stops talking in any instance where he's thrown off a social script or doesn't know what to say, and in the gatcha spinoff of course because they have to make him at least cooperate with you he tends to read as less overtly evil and more just having low empathy and a strong sense of his form of "justice." There is so much more I could say about him he's one of my favorite characters in the entire BlazBlue extended universe he's just a very cool character both as a villain and a circumstantial ally. Vote for funny guy named sex as a win for autistic emo twinks everywhere."

HSMTMTS Maddox Autism Analysis
I had to use my laptop for this one, cause I'm not about to write all this shit on mobile. However, I shall not be adding gifs and pics to this one, cause i don't have those on my laptop, and i think there is a limit to those anyway. This one's long, and not guaranteed exhaustive cause my memory is Meh, at best.
Anyways, Onward!
General Info
So just from Promotional Material for Season 3
Maddox:
Techie Who always follows the rules.
The most excited person for Camp.
Hates Change
Comes to the same camp every year
From these, we already can see the building blocks of a targeted interest and a need for routines. The always following the rules is reminiscent of Autistics not breaking rules due to simply not thinking to.
Once the show itself aired, Maddox pretty quickly showed multiple indicators as well. For the sake of organization, I'm going to break these down as Tics and Tendencies and give a few examples, rather than by episode.
Irritation/Panic at unexpected changes in schedule
Saylor mentions frequently that Maddox is really struggling in Season 3 because for the first time, something is drastically disrupting this yearly escape. Unlike Ricky who, while panicking at the change, is able to actively work against it, Maddox struggles with fighting the change and usually must physically remove herself to prevent a more extreme reaction.
Maddox begins already thrown off due to Jet being sent with her to camp.
Dislikes when the Auditions is interrupted by Jet arriving an hour late.
She isn't hanging out with EJ this summer, likely due to feeling thrown off that he brought an entire troupe of friends.
Literally everything in Woman in the Woods - and going to her hiding spot to avoid a full meltdown.
RCOSL changes how she normally does the set direction in order to cause drama - again runs off after her and Jet's fight.
Really struggles with Madison's initial appearance at camp.
Realizes she signed to go to NZ before getting with Ash, and completely removes herself from the post-production celebration that LITERALLY every other character attended.
Very Literal Speaking
Several times when Maddox accidentally gets herself in trouble its because she says something that doubles as a pointed metaphor, even though she was being literal.
"...that kind of bond is....Forever"
"...you just got to commit to one side, of the boat....or else you'll fall in..."
"You have two minutes" - and actually timing it
"....and well, life has other plans..." - not realizing Ash could take this as an attack on her relationship.
"...Yeah my crystals haven't charged in like a month" - thinking Jet is literally taking about what she was actively doing.
Scripting
Maddox has multiple moments where she communicates using a clearly practiced script, and a few where she struggles once someone doesn't react how she expected and she did not have a response ready.
Shallow Lake Welcome Song
Introducing herself in the Honeycomb
The automatic little Thank yous when that one kid compliments her at a few points in the season.
The safety information on Newbie Night
The Woman in the Woods story is scripted - she gets interrupted and starts mixing up scripts when trying to get back on track.
Truly awful improvised scripting during RCOSL. Also not having the words to tell Carlos to lay off the whole 'hot for Jet' thing.
Memorizing all the lines she would need as a PA on the flight.
We literally see her scripting her confession to Ash.
Fumbling through talking to Ash about the NZ move, as she didn't think it was a conversation she was going to need to have.
Info Dumping
When Maddox gets excited, she frequently starts info dumping without thinking about it, usually while also kind of tuning out whats happening around her.
Several times in 3x03
Talking about her favorite nigh before she realizes no one is listening.
again when leading the group to the tents, when she is giving the rules and safety information.
Info dumps about rising signs before Ash gets upset and leaves.
general tips for color wars with Gina in 3x06
Snapping
Maddox tends to snap when deciding what to say to someone.
When she calls out Carlos for changing the cast list
We can hear a snap when she first asks Ashlyn if she was a Leo rising
She snaps when getting annoyed at Jet and Ricky when she directs them
She snaps after finishing her script for confessing to Ashlyn
Tapping/Clapping
Maddox claps and taps things when idling or when she is in between actions. Generally, if she's not got her hands in her pockets and isn't holding something, then she's doing this.
Maddox taps her hands together after Ashlyn catches her attention about the letter.
Clapping hands together as she talks when entering the honeycomb.
Taps on the set pieces when not using the drill.
Claps her hands with the paper star when Carlos suggests she likes Jet.
Taps on the bunk beds while talking to the girls after Camp Prom.
Taps on the broom while cleaning after Opening Night.
Claps her hands while talking to Ash in the hallway when walking to set.
Taps the tree stump that Ash hands her.
Shaking Things
Not as common as the tapping, but if Maddie is only using one hand she tends to shake the object she's holding.
The Letter to Big Red
The Markers after signing the wall.
The pamphlet on PA barking
Facial Expressions
Maddox's face tends to either be way more expressive than expected for the response she is giving, or way less. When she is alone, or with friends/Jet, her expressions are more free. she spends less time guessing and just lets her face to whatever its going to.
During RCOSL, her expression is almost unchanged, probably due to having to think about it constantly.
Once Newbie Night started going downhill, she paid more attention to seeming fine.
She is a lot more open in the fourth season, except with Quinn, where she remains professional.
Special Interests
More than pretty much everyone, Maddox has clearly defined interests
Camping
Set Design
Production
Possibly 80's style Camp Humor/Horror
Avoiding Adverse Stimuli
Okay so Maddox has exactly ONE coping mechanism, and its removing/Distancing herself from the situation.
Stands by the stage instead of joining the crowd on Welcome Day.
Does not return to the Bunks until very late.
Sits alone brooding when Jet takes off
Goes to hiding spot after scary story is interrupted
Stays by the wall for much of movie night
Building set/Managing costumes alone, instead of adjusting to help.
Operates more or less ALL of stage alone using a switchboard. Including in Season 4, when we know she has stagehands available.
Goes to hiding spot after argument with Jet.
Goes to probably commit balloon homicide before Jet stops her.
Hides from Ash to avoid NZ conversation.
Mentions that she doesn't actually attend Camp Prom all that often and normally goes to prank the boy's bunks.
Its okay, she'll probably get better about this with her now robust support system.
Anyway, there is definitely more, but this is what i can remember without immediately re watching the show again and going episode by episode.

❤ He is different than others when it comes to certain social interactions, and when he noticed that you had some unique tendencies, he wasn't malice about it. A lot of people in his class are particular, so it's not as if it's the first time he's encountered any traits like yours.
❤ Like your strange sense of eye contact. Your eyes always glance at his before immediately avoiding them. Fujisaki does the same thing, but it's harder to get used to from his S/O, as it feels un-intimate. But he finds it a bit appealing when he does this: mid conversation, flickering his eyes to something that catches his eye, and then looking back at you for you to be staring at him like this O.O .
❤ When you ramble he does tune out a bit but it's okay he gets the general consises.
❤ ^ nah but there's a lot of "I told you that", "no yeah sure of course yeah I remember".
❤ If you're sensitive to noise then his motorcycle roaring is gonna be an inevitable pain, but if you worry about it enough he might warn you when he's on his way home so you can put on noise-canceling headphones or such.
❤ ^ His anxious loud-voice gets louder when he gets nervous around you (in a flustered way) and it could have definitely scared you away, so now that recently he has learned about your hatred of loud noises, he feels grateful that you stuck around.
❤ If your a picky eater and you have certain cravings he'll steal the food for you before coming home. How dare his sweetheart be hungry without him... (food might fly away while he's riding home but-).
❤ You have a harder time expressing emotions but it's okay because so does he, so easily enough, the two of you kinda have a psychic-esq connection of i love you and you love me... yeah good okay happy we are on the same page.
❤ He thinks it's amusing when you're blunt, especially when it's targeting towards him. If you say something off-putting or even socially 'offensive' he'll just laugh and not correct you.
❤ A con is if you tic then he's laughing srry.
❤ If you're the type to go non-verbal it's okay because he'll talk enough for the both of you.
❤ If anything, when you're stressed out, he can pull you into his chest while you two lay together for cuddles. He is so WARM.
❤ ^ And he's also fine with not touching you at all and giving you space (temporarily)...
❤ You get very anxious sometimes in public and his way of handling that is just yelling at strangers to get back: yelling (of course).
❤ You always think he's mad because of his behavior and it's hard to try and comprehend that he's just like that.
❤ This is a vaguely specific and neuro-typical thing but he adapted to your habits very quickly, because again, his classmates all have similar behaviors. You're grateful that he did because it saved you a lot of explaining and apologizing. You feel safe around him. You can do the weirdest thing like stim in a hit-head or hit anywhere else way and he'll just not try to stop you like "babe omg no >.<" or whatever other neuro-typicals do.
❤ He's very calm and care-free about it, which is absolutely perfect.

Teen Wolf 1x08
Why does Scott keep going along with Stiles’ plans when they’re all, um, bad?
Also, I feel like drinking out in the woods while being stalked by a supernatural creature that just tried to kill you is perhaps a terrible idea.
Does alcohol even work on Scott anymore? If his healing’s accelerated I feel like he’d never get more than a buzz. And I’m so glad my thoughts match drunk Stiles. My life is complete.
Is this the first time Scott has actually gone looking for a fight? I mean, not hyped up on anger (even though I don’t remember him starting the physical fights with Fuckface, I think Fuckface always started those).
And yet he still he controls his shift and doesn’t do anything violent to the dudes, just throws the bottle. He is just so diametrically opposed to Fuckface.
The only interaction where Fuckface didn’t actually lose his cool was with Chris Argent. In fact, Fuckface will easily enact violence against those weaker than him, but can hold his temper against those stronger with the exception of Kate. I’m guessing the outlier isn’t Chris, but Kate because it’s personal with her.
Scott doesn’t ever seem to choose violence first, which is why he’s struggled so much with the change.
And Fuckface tried to get him to believe that anger and pain were the keys to controlling the change, but the keys for Scott were connection and love.
So theoretically the reason the Alpha is killing is for revenge. We don’t really know why, but that’s the implication. There’s something specific about Laura, the bus driver, the video clerk, and the Argents.
And the janitor was to torment Scott. But why these guys?
Not that I don’t get it, Scott. But, uh, you just found out that the Alpha wants you to kill her, so maybe some space right now isn’t a bad thing.
Stiles’ concern for his dad’s physical wellbeing is sweet. I just wish that concern extended a bit more to Scott as well.
They really do put Scott in red a lot. I mean, it’s a good color on him, but also (color theory!) can be used for both anger and love. A coincidence, probably, but it’s what I’m going with.
The autistic experience of sensory overload. I have been there, my friend.
We also love a good panic attack.
So Stiles’ mom is actually dead, and he got panic attacks. Yeah, that tracks.
The lighting in this scene from the circling fan is making my eyes wig out and I literally cannot watch it.
I wonder if this has just as much to do with the fact that he only just accepted that Allison is his anchor to his humanity and now he feels adrift, right before the full moon. Not just about heartbreak, but about a loss of self.
I’m actually a little bit face blind, but the Detective the Sheriff brought in is one of the hunters, right? I recognize the tie from earlier.
I wonder why Mrs. Argent isn’t more involved with the hunting. Like, was that her choice or is that just how the hunters are and Kate’s the anomaly.
I am not a fan of Scott casually hurting himself. I very much think it’s essentially due to having lost his anchor right before the full moon, but self destructive tendencies are more Fuckface’s bailiwick and I don’t like to see Scott falling into that.
Well Danny clearly has the most team spirit out of everyone. And also he’s right. Amazing how he can be friends with Jackson, actually.
I know Stiles is like, the King of ‘this is not the time’, but dammit, Stiles, read the fucking room. Your bff literally said to you maybe a couple hours earlier that he was afraid he might kill someone, and with the exception of the panic attack, Scott has had flat affect the whole day. And while I understand adding levity to certain situations can help, this is not the fucking time.
Once again, Scott going along with something he shouldn’t. Mostly because Lydia has made it excruciatingly obvious that she’s not into Stiles. Also because Scott is clearly not working on all cylinders and expecting him to try to actively use the senses when he’s all messed up about them is not going to end well.
Lol. Scott, bro. You are too messed up to handle this situation.
So Lydia started going after Scott, and Jackson started going after Allison, and I’m willing to bet Lydia is now going to shoot her shot with Scott. Not because she wants him but because she wants to hurt Jackson and she doesn’t care who else is in the crossfire.
That’s the thing with toxic relationships, they always seem to pull others into their mess.
Ugh, why is she like this? Saying one thing to Allison and the complete opposite to Scott. And for what? Jackson isn’t even worth it? Why torch like three relationships for this?
Well, Scott, the request from Stiles was dumb, but saying that Lydia’s into him was a shitty thing to do. I mean, I know you’re not in your right mind but still.
Total aside, but I actually hate how the best player on the team is often given the captaincy. It happens in professional sports too and drives me bonkers. The best player is not always the best leader.
Poor Danny.
Interesting to see that Jackson actually does care about someone other than himself.
Oh, so Scott’s actually gone completely off the deep end and doesn’t give a shit about anything i.e. complete loss of self. That happened scarily quick. If this is what happens when you lose your anchor, I wonder if this happened to Fuckface somewhere along the line and he just never recovered.
Confirmation that Kate is training Allison without permission. Good to know.
Omg, Stiles, boundaries.
Okay, so. No. First Stiles gets ‘payback’ for Scott (the sixteen year old) not protecting his dad (THE SHERIFF) and now Stiles wants payback for Scott kissing Lydia. Like, that’s not fucking how friendships work! Sometimes friends do shitty things to each other, and it sucks and hopefully you can talk about it and work through it. You don’t get to demand payback if your friends do something that you don’t like.
I absolutely hate this side of Stiles, I really do. Like, he crosses people’s boundaries all the time, he steals things, he can sometimes just act shitty, but that doesn’t give his friends the right to punish him.
Once again, he’s acting like such a cop’s kid (derogatory). He gets a free ride, but everyone else deserves to be punished.
To clarify, Scott definitely needs to be locked up right now, but the reasoning is askew.
Oh, so it’s not physical violence this time, just humiliation. Cool.
And, like, why would Stiles be taunting him, when it’s not like the cuffs are that strong? This is going to be the scene with the Alpha all over again. Stiles thinks he has him trapped, spouts off and then very much realizes that he’s not trapped. Dipshit.
Also, going all the way back to the beginning (yes, it’s Kafka again, shut up) are we going to lock him in a room and treat him as monstrous and expect him to end up not acting like a monster? How much would it actually cost to be kind for one night?
For the last three hours you thought all of that and then just…decided to be mean anyway? I guess that’s a choice.
Scott sounds like an addict. I wonder if that was intentional.
Again, we only got like five seconds of Scott’s agony of the transformation and then immediately switched to someone else. We almost got more reaction from Stiles than of Scott. Why do they keep doing that?
Aaand the tiger He destroyed his cage The tiger is out
(Apologies to Nael, Age 6 for changing your poem).
The amount of, like, mental manipulation being forcibly changed into a werewolf involves is ridiculous. Fugue states, hallucinations, mind control, lucid dreaming. Scott can’t trust his body or his mind anymore.
Wow, is Fuckface actually being useful for once? Crazy.
Hate to say this Fuckface, but, uh. It wasn’t pain that brought Scott back, it was you howling in his face.
Scott sad, breathless little thanks is killing me.
Even though he just did something nice, I can’t give Fuckface the benefit of the doubt. I know he prefaced it with that it might not work, but I still think he’s just using Scott to get to the Alpha. Whether he wants to kill him in revenge or he wants Scott to, I don’t know. But, like, I don’t trust his motives.
Still hate the CGI wolf.
That hiding spot is not very keep it secret, keep it safe of you Jackson.

casts spell of being autistic about your characters on you
OKAY LISTEN partially late because I had to do things I AM GOING TO BE CONTAINING MYSELF IN THIS POST
BECAUSE I feel as if sharing this is illegal (even though these are literally my characters)
SO specifically for the past few days I have been very. Unwell about these very specific guys but I will need to do some explaining beforehand
I have another iterator named Times Lost In Bliss! She's in the same group as Creativity (Lands Edge) and is actually! Their senior!
Don't worry she's actually a normal senior. I say this genuinely xey are just really nice
Times was built with lower processing power than the standard Iterator, causing it to have the tendency to... Fall asleep at inopportune moments. This can last from seconds, to minutes, to hours- to several cycles. Fae has no control over this.
Iterator with narcolepsy essentially
I could go on a WHOLE other ramble about Times BUT skipping a bunch of Stuff
Times has! Guard dogs!
He made them before the mass ascension so they are OLD AS HELL but they are so. She loves them so much they're just puppies to her
They're called The Detorrents! There's eight of them and they all have their own individual names of course
BIG. ASS. GUYS
Here is a doodle of fan favourite, Moss Grown Tall. He's just a happy dude
Tumblr media
Do NOT let this doodle trick you. These assholes are fucking MASSIVE
Tumblr media
And unfortunately they are god damn TERRIFYING and VERY good at their job. These fuckers can RUN. And CLIMB. And DEAR GOD YOU ARE NOT ESCAPING.
I've been working on slowly drawing all of them (I have concepts and colour pallets!) and EVENTUALLY having full blown references but YEAH THEY'RE ALL I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT
I am so very fond of Times' big, terrifying dogs with the internet in their brains

Reasons why I headcannon Haru from Free! as autistic (some aren't diagnostic criteria but I'm autistic and I relate, so bite me):
He only eats fish (mackerel) ("You like mackerel too much" is a running gag)
He loves water because of the way it feels (sensory seeking)
He's the only one who sees a difference in his swimtrunks (he likes some better because the way they feel/they fit differently) (hyper sensitive sense)
His special interests are swimming and mackerel
When trying to convince others to swim, he mimics the way he thinks you should do it (with no regard to social cues) (masking)
Limited facial expressions (unless it's about swimming)
He doesn't care about swimming time, records and winning
He has a set routine
"I only swim free."
Is often seen providing support by sitting quietly beside people // or engaging in a conversation with his back turned to the group.
Tendency to give entities human feelings ("Maybe the water hates him" // "I thought I should ask water about matter that involves the water.")
Appears blunt but cares deeply (asks outright if people are okay /// "we're not going to discuss it (about something another character finds uncomfortable)" // gives things freely to children)
Straightforward
Takes his promises very seriously
"He's actually looking at the camera for once."
"Knowing Haru he probably doesn’t want to talk to anyone right now."
Trying to understand his feelings through thinking // struggling to name feelings
He never uses his phone // doesn’t bring it with him // "Haru usually doesn’t carry his phone around with him."
He remembers small things about his friends and then gifts really meaningful gifts
When he knows how he feels he shares his feelings openly and without shame (and with an abundance of eye contact used to drive home his sincerity)
He notices people when they're sad // really perceptive // notices differences in behaviour (pattern recognision)
"You're supposed to smile for pictures." // "Haru is always smiling on the inside."
My man does not care about social norms (is always ready for a dip, no matter where he has to strip).
"I don't care about winning," (i love this boy)
"You're too easily impressed, Haru-chan." (Once again, I love him)
As kids Haru sometimes wouldn’t talk, and instead Mokoto would "translate" how he felt (i almost cried 😭)
"You're so cold," (i hate this)
He litterally just went to Australia because Rin asked him to without knowing the language + without doing any planning just trusting Rin– and then felt panicked when he thought Rin left him (... I once went to Italy with a girl because she said she wanted to and I didn’t get that it was meant to be a joke... until we were already in Italy and she told me she it was a joke but she was glad I took it seriously. She planned everything and I just followed along because I trusted her. Rin also said he didn’t expect Haru to agree, so yeah. I don't know)
"It was my first fight (with him)" (relatable dude)
"Hey, c'mon. You could look a little happier... But I guess that reaction is typical Haru." (Seeing someone for the first time in a long time)
"That’s really impressive," Haru says. "Hey," someone else says. "You're supposed to laugh at that!" (Once again, relatable dude. I don't get the joke either)
"What did you talk about?" *Haru answers truthfully* *the other person makes noises of disbelief*
I love him
