🍓 🌓 Rachel's kindness is what saved you on that day where her husband and her children found you. A day where both her asthma and the asthma of her youngest child were better and the whole family was able to go outside. Strays and homeless aren't uncommon to be seen in the darkest streets of London or begging somewhere for money but it's the first time for both of their boys to see someone homeless. You're just sitting in one of the corners, ragged clothes hugging your form as you just sit there with dull and lifeless eyes. The youngest son sees you and approaches you with his childish curiosity, pities you. Vincent, slightly alarmed, is quick to follow him just in case. When his son asks you why you're sitting outside like this, he quickly hushes him and apologizes for the insensible question of his child. You just stare at him with a stoic expression before you look away. It's truly a pitiful sight to behold.

🍓 🌓 Pitiful enough to soften Rachel's heart as she realizes how young you are. She isn't able to go outside that much due to her health so she doesn't see how hard the life of people tends to be. She asks her husband if they can invite you for just one meal and her youngest son agrees as he also wants to do something good for you. Vincent and Ciel hesitate for a while but in the end can't reject the pleads of those two. You just trail quietly behind the family, don't speak much when Rachel and her son try to talk to you. Rachel respects that though, she doesn't know what you've gone through after all. You stop shortly before you arrive in front of their mansion, look at the place in a mix of awe and horror. You turn to them and ask them flabbergasted why they would let you inside, they've basically picked you up on the streets. Vincent reminds you coldly that this is only one time only to be interrupted by his wife who tells you kindly that she wants to help you at least a bit.

🍓 🌓 The servants look at you in shock but quickly comply when they hear what the wish of their mistress is. You are given a new set of clothes and are pushed to take a bath since you reek. Well, you haven't been able to take a good bath in quite a while. In the meantime Vincent questions Rachel if she's going to invite every homeless person over now but she is vehement to insist that she knows that she can't help every person who suffers. But she just couldn't ignore you, you looked so frail and lost. When you are led to the dining room, you grow slightly nervous to be in the presence of those people. Rachel compliments you for looking fine now that you wear fresh clothes and are cleaned. The meal you have is better than everything you've had since you've arrived here but despite that you mind your table manners since you're in the presence of nobles in here. You surprise Vincent a bit with that since you're far more mannered than he initially thought you'd be.

🍓 🌓 What really ends up shocking him is your educational level and your insight on certain things. You keep quiet throughout the whole meal, are far too ashamed to even look at this family. It isn't until Vincent and Ciel start a insightful conversation about something that perks your interest. All it really takes is one comment from you in regards of their conversation that suddenly earns you the earl's attention. You quickly apologize, terribly ashamed and embarrassed that you just butted into their conversation like this. But instead Vincent encourages you to join the discussion they have and even if you are more careful with your answers, he can clearly sense that you are smarter than you might let on. You know more than the basics in things like maths and physics and prove to have an educational level which not everyone has. Not to mention that you seem to be very insightful. It surprises him to discover just how knowledgeable you are.

🍓 🌓 The meal takes longer than intended which is mainly because your answers and guesses push Vincent to chat with you longer and the whole family joins in at one point. You definitely have their curiosity now which embarrasses and flatters you all together. When you've finally gotten to the end of it, you stand up and bow deeply, thank them for their hospitality and that you'll leave now. Instead Vincent tells you to stay here for a while longer since he wants to discuss something with Rachel. The children are sent to bed by the servants whilst you are led into a huge room where you sit down on the couch and just wait awkwardly. You feel terribly out of place. The couple returns after a while and before Vincent can even start to explain, Rachel asks you if you'd like to work for them. You just stare at both of them surprised and then your gaze turns to the earl. Didn't he tell you that you would leave as soon as the dinner would be over?

🍓 🌓 Vincent then explains to you that he wouldn't just take any stranger into his house and he'll certainly make sure that Rachel won't take every homeless person in. The only reason he's offering you such a position is because he thinks your knowledge would be wasted in the streets. He has a distinct feeling that you're special and he intends to trust his intuition on this one. You mull over their offer for a while with Rachel awaiting your answer eagerly. You don't have anywhere to go anyways and you have no idea if you can ever return. You should at least make sure that you have a roof over your head and can take care of your own life by having a job and earning money. Considering all of that makes your answer obvious. You agree and within the same night you're given a bed and a room which you have to share with some of the other maids. You're happy though that you finally can enjoy the comfort of a mattress, a pillow and a blanket again.

🍓 🌓 At first some of the servants are unsure how to feel about you since you're still someone who came from the streets. Vincent asks you sooner than expected about what exactly happened in your past, something Rachel chastises him for since he shouldn't push you. You have probably led a bad life so far. He should be more sensible and give you a bit more time. You just stare at him for a while and he can see in your eyes that you're reliving some bad memories right now. The only thing you tell both of them then is that you're entire family is gone and that you'll never be able to see them again. You ask Rachel after that if you can leave and she excuses you, apologizes to you for having to recall such sad memories. Vincent could dig deeper but knows that he probably should let it be, he has seen the pain in your eyes. He's still a bit curious to know where exactly you were taught so much.

🍓 🌓 Luckily you manage to blend in quickly with the rest of the servants who soon accept you. They see how hard you work and when they catch glimpses of your educational knowledge they understand why their earl offered you this place. You are always ready to help and are quick and willing to learn new tasks you apparently haven't done before. Rachel asks you almost every time how you're doing and if you've grown used to this place yet and her youngest son seems always eager to talk with you for a bit. Vincent and Ciel like to chat with you since you surprise them sometimes with your wisedom, especially Vincent is fascinated with your answers and predictions you sometimes make. Everything is almost good but Rachel gets told that you often just stay in your room, that you suffer often nightmares at night and that some of them have caught you silently crying somewhere before. Your past still makes you suffer greatly apparently.

🍓 🌓 Rachel seeks you out, worried for you although you tell her that she shouldn't concern herself too much with you. It's true that you miss your family but you can't do anything about it since they're gone now. She still tells you that you can always come to her if you need to talk with someone. You're touched by her kindness, know that you can most likely never tell her the truth about what really happened though. The whole family is rather fond of you at one point though. You become pretty much Rachel's personal maid at one point and she spends much time with you when she's bedridden due to her condition. Vincent often asks you about your opinions on certain topics since he trusts your advices since you always consider things from a different perspective than him and sometimes seem to know how a certain situation will end. Ciel likes talking with you too due to your occasional humor and knowledge and his younger brother is really clingy and you often look out for those two when their parents are busy. Both don't mind a bit though and actually come sometimes running to you when they have a problem.

🍓 🌓 You don't talk much about your past and the little pieces of knowledge the household has lets most assume that your family was better of than the average citizen but died in a tragic accident and that that is the reason why you are so knowledgeable and have ended up on the streets. Something doesn't sit right with Vincent though. He has tried to do his research on you but couldn't find anything. There is no family with your last name you admitted accidentally to him at one point, there is no history with a family of that name who died for some reason. There is no family at all with that name in London. He doesn't believe your family to be the average citizens, the deepness of your education must mean that one of your family members must have been a teacher, a doctor or just richer. Then there is something else that arouses his suspicion at times. The way you behave and talk is rather eccentric at times, certain words sometimes leave your lips that he's never heard and your predictions, when you share them with him, are spot-on at times. As if you know what was going to happen.

🍓 🌓 Ciel sometimes also tells him that you tell his younger brother and him weird things at times when you're somewhere else with your thoughts and always try to cover it up afterwards. Son and father both feel like there is something you keep hidden from them and both want to know what that is. They can agree on the fact that whatever you keep a secret won't harm them though, you would never do something to hurt them. They just want to know because whatever it is you tell no one is a weight pulling on your heart. The distant and sad look at times, that one time Ciel and his brother caught you crying and your silent and sometimes downright depressing behavior. They can't bear to see you like this, they care too much.

🍓 🌓 By now your lifestyle has undergone a little change as the Phantomhive family might have grown a bit too attached to you. You have been working less and less in the kitchen or cleaned the house. Instead you spend a lot of time with Rachel and her husband, read stories to the youngest boy and are even allowed to help the twins with their education since you know enough to teach them. Ciel's younger brother also demands your presence a lot since he has asthma too and is often too sick to go outside which upsets him. So he wants you to play with him or read him some stories. Most of your meals are taken together with the family even though this isn't something that should happen considering that you're just a plain servant. You tell them so too but they just laugh it off and tell you that they want you to enjoy your food together with them. You even get your own private room instead of sharing a room with the other maidens.

🍓 🌓 Vincent doesn't want to threaten you even if he could do that with ease. You've become a part of his family, of their family by now. He knows that everyone feels the same way too so he can't force you to tell him. Not to mention that Rachek would never fully forgive you if he would use force against you. Instead him and Ciel try to coax you into telling them what your full story is. You know that they care for you so much after all, you can always come to them if it becomes too much for you alone to carry. Rachel and the youngest son are not informed about their plan for now though since both are much more purer and kinder. Rachel and her youngest are really clingy with you and especially the little one is often right next to you and hides behind you when he feels shy. Rachel gushes over both of you since you two are so adorable together, feels happier than ever with you as the lovely addition to this family. She often tells you that she views you like her own family too to let you know that she loves and cares for you.

🍓 🌓 You find yourself at times overwhelmed with all the affection that is thrown your way and the way Vincent and Rachel dote on you and their children. There is guilt embracing your heart too since you can't shake off the feeling that you're betraying your own family because of this situation. They aren't dead, just in a world so far away from where you are right now and this guilt gets the better of you at times when you abruptly try to distance yourself from the Phantomhive family to feel like you're loyal to your own. You can't do that for too long though since Vincent will order for the servants to get you if he realizes that you try to avoid them. He doesn't want Rachel and his youngest son to know since they'd be heartbroken and reminds you of that in a chiding tone too. He knows you could never be the cause of happiness for those two. Weirdly enough he sees right through you and even asks you if you isolate yourself because you can't let go of your own family. You give him a terrified and exposed look.

🍓 🌓 Vincent and Ciel are both slightly unhappy with your emotional inability to accept them as your new family. From the ways you act your family is either dead or will most likely never return to you so there shouldn't be a problem. Emotions have never been rational though and both are aware of that. At times you do seem truly happy though, feel like you really are part of their family and nothing brings Rachel greater joy than seeing the happy smile on your face when you interact with her youngest or joke around with Ciel. She wants you to always be like this but knows it's selfish from her to ask this of you, especially since you lost your real family which still affects you at times. She tells Vincent her dream nevertheless and he promises her that you just need time to recover. He will make sure that her dream will become a reality.

🍓 🌓 Months pass by where you still don't tell anyone about your past and grow more torn apart between what you used to have and still want and what you have now and have learned to treasure. Your guilt holds you back from truly acknowledging the Phantomhive family as your new family in this world and your heart breaks every time when the youngest son tells you that you're like an older sibling to him and that he loves you a lot or when Rachel gives you a gentle hug and smiles at you with this fond look of hers. It fills you with guilt and the emotional gaslighting that Vincent and sometimes even Ciel do to convince you to tell them only hurts you more. Until one night, after another nightmare of yours, the guilt kills you and you go straight to the chambers of Rachel and Vincent. Both are still tired when they wake up and see you standing there but as soon as they notice your tears and the sobs you try to hold back, both are awake. They both know that you most likely had another nightmare but this is the first time you've sought them out after one.

🍓 🌓 You slump down on the bed next to you, still distraught after your nightmare and both of them try their best to comfort you. Rachel embraces you with her warmth and Vincent caresses your hair. Both wait for you to tell them what has happened and you sob out that they probably won't believe you anyways if you tell them everything now. Rachel cradles your face in her hands carefully and promises to you that they'll believe you and the look in her eyes is what finally breaks you. Everything just spills out of you as you tell them that you came originally from another country but were somehow transported into this world and you have no way to come back home, don't know of any at least. Both of them share a short glance with each other and they know exactly what each other is thinking. They both believe you. Rachel because she knows you would never lie to her and Vincent because he is very good in telling whether someone is lying to him or not. He doesn't believe that you're lying to him and somehow everything makes perfect sense to him now. Your weird words and how you know so much. Both comfort you for the rest of the night.

🍓 🌓 The parents decide to tell their children nothing for now although they'll have to do that at one point. Ciel most likely suspects that something is going on and approaches his father who just tells him that he has to wait for a bit but promises to him that he'll definitely be told soon what has happened. Rachel grows more paranoid now that she knows the truth and it leads her to suffer under insecurities. It must be torture for you to know that your real family searches for you and hopes for you to return to them without knowing that you're stuck in a completely different world. She starts doubting if she can really make you happy and Vincent has to comfort her when she's distraught like this. She's more clingy and affects her youngest son too. He doesn't know what's going on but realizes that his mother is terrified for you which makes him more clingy and terrified too. He suddenly constantly wants to be with you and his mother since she'a afraid to leave you alone so he grows afraid too as soon as he can't find you.

🍓 🌓 Vincent is slightly disturbed. As fascinating as it might be to know that there are more worlds than the human eye will ever be able to see, he's a bit unsure. You've told Rachel and him that you don't think that you'll ever be able to return to your own world but there is no guarantee for that. You didn't know after all what triggered you to be sent to his world in the first place. There's no guarantee that the same won't happen again. It's frustrating since it's one of the few times where he is unable to control the situation and the lack of information makes it all even worse. It's ridiculous but the only thing he can do now is hoping that you truly will never return. He knows that this is selfish but Vincent is a egotistic man to begin with. His wife and children love you and he does too, he won't lose a precious family member. They're your new family after all, they can make you happy. Enough for you to stop being often so sad about your family in your original world.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ A/N: Been busy with uni stuff but nothing couldn't stop me from writing this now that inspiration strikes me and since we're having a new season I began to reread the manga these past few days and wow, I still love this lil dude. Look at his smiled he knows he's adorable. The Green Witch arc remains my favorite <3

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Warning: Yandere content, platonic yandere, protectiveness.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ You were a few years older than the twins, but you were very close to them as well as being a constant figure for them as they grew up. You were what they would describe as the best sibling in the world, even though you liked to make fun of them and make jokes that embarrassed them in front of people, like any good old sibling would do.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ When you had free time, you enjoyed teaching them chess and other logic games, loving the way the expressions on their faces were confusing whenever you used a different strategy. These were simple times when the whole family would get together to watch you play while everyone chatted. Times that were lost after the attack, all the joy, all the warmth, that mixed with the sad blue of the wallpaper until it turned the entire mansion into something cold.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Ciel came back, lost, deeply hurt, and you were the only person he told what happened. The whole kidnapping and the cult, and it broke your heart, your brilliant little brother was an unresponsive blank as he recounted the facts, as if he didn't want to realize the impact that that event had on him. As if he was still on autopilot and couldn't let his guard down. And things were worse now that he had lost his twin brother, who he was as attached to as you were.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ But you were there to support him every step of the way, holding his hand after a nightmare, wiping the rare tears from his eyes, listening to everything he had to say. Ciel's stubborn and prideful, he never asks for help but he has this serene smile on his face when you go out of your way to help him anyway. You knew he was strong for withstanding all the pressure, for enduring everything he went through and for having the strength necessary to overcome everything, and you reminded him of that in each of his "weak moments". It reminded him that he was loved and that you would always be by his side.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ He's still twelve, he's still a child, and you're always telling him stories to sleep and taking him out to take his mind off his trauma. Sometimes you just sit next to him and listen to him express his thoughts.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Ciel can be a little overprotective sometimes, which is funny considering you should be the overprotective one due to the age difference. He always sends Sebastian with you on your errands, to protect you from some attack or someone. And you don't complain, his intentions are good and you can understand the anxiety he feels upon knowing that those responsible for the attack are free and alive.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Being a few years older, you know a lot about balls, about every important person and how to negotiate with them. And you teach each of these things to Ciel when he decides to claim the title of Queen's Watchdog, giving advice and sharing your opinion whenever he asks you, being by his side as his left hand.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ And being his left hand means that you and Sebastian interact on a daily basis, protecting Ciel, going on missions together, collecting information and the such.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ In private, when your masks can finally fall, you call him by his real name, hug him lightly and let him know that no matter what, you'll be there for him. Always.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Ciel actually told you everything, everything except that he made a contract with a demon. He hopes you can forgive him when the contract is completed, when he and his soul disappear from this world, without any chance of seeing you one last time in the so-called paradise.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Even after your death, Ciel might remember the loving way you sat in the chair next to his bed when he was sick and took care of him. He will remember the silly promises you made, the bad jokes you told him to make him laugh until his stomach hurt, the little adventures to steal cookies on Christmas morning. Things too precious for him.

I keep seeing Sebastian’s name being mentioned in your soul owner fics. I can imagine the reader being a hard core simp for Sebastian being ushy gushy over him and Alastors about ready to track this supposed ‘Sebastian’ down for taking the reader’s attention being all broody and jealous only to find out that Sebastian isn’t real. He’ll be like “oh I knew that!” Then he murmurs “damn picture box”.

I can't help myself when I saw this ask!!!!! Just has to say something!!

I can't say hardcore simp, but there was a bit of a phase in Reader/your living period where you rewatch and keep up with the news of Black Butler. You love the idea of being someone who will never betray you and be by your side no matter what. (there's a reason why you accepted Alastor with time) You had a thing for devoting characters and Sebastian just so happened to be that one.

The first time Alastor heard, he thought you actually had a demon you love named Sebastian to care for you and you let him. At the time, he doesn't know you have things like 'anime' so he definitely didn't know you were referencing that. When you compare him to Sebastian, that's what got his blood boiling. Who's this Sebastian you have in your thoughts!? He's too jealous and prideful to ask full details from you, so he got out to hunt down any and all demons named Sebastian (rip to them). You weren't aware of this happening all while talking about Sebastian.

It's when you noticed Alastor acting more and more familiar to Sebastian that you showed him your interest that is 'anime'.

"And this is Black Butler, an anime I love when I was alive. This guy is a demon and he had a contract with Ciel to have his soul when his revenge is done. And this anime character is Sebastian."

You were watching carefully at Alastor's reaction. You heard the faint record scratch meaning Alastor was shocked. By that time, you knew Alastor's yandere tendencies and his obsession with having your attention and affection on him.

"Oh. What a development!" Alastor laughed it off. "And here I thought I had competition!"

"Don't think you're better than my favourites. Nothing can replace them." Your eyes narrowed

Alastor's laugh cut off as his head snapped to you, his eyes turning black as his head twitched to the side like he was glitching and the static grew. "You have favourites?"

Your face twisted to discomfort as you walked by him, ignoring how his demonic form was showing slowly. "Yeah, and you are falling below my neutral ones more when you do that." You left him alone with his thoughts, "Keep acting like this and see how low you get."

Controlling, possessive, calculated

He lost his parents so young, he’s desperate to be loved and cared for. So desperate, he legitimately turned to a demon. So if you show him even the slightest bit of kindness, you're his.

He’ll do anything to get you into the manor, and once you venture in, you’ll never be able to leave. He doesn't want to keep you restrained (the illusion you love him is important) but he’d be quick to try and break you. Even if you're almost a lifeless doll, just having you in his life is enough.

He will have you fill the role of parent or sibling, but officially you will be house staff. Despite this, you don't have to do any work. Even things like cooking or cleaning, that parents tend to do, will be taken care of by the servants. Your job is to be with him and care for him. Nothing more, but he also won't settle for less.

He expects you to check up on him- all the time. Even if he told you he’s busy, a real family member who loved him would keep checking in. He expects you to show interest in the things he does- his hobbies and his work. He expects you to act proud of him.

He won’t let you be seen in public, or even at events in the manor. He’s both aware that his relationship to you is nonstandard, and also he’s crazy possessive.

He doesn't want you to be friends with the servants, but he’ll tolerate you being close with sebastian. Other than that, your life consists of only ciel.

He will test you, all the time. He’ll construct situations where your loyalty, love, and devotion are put to the test. He’ll make sure you think of him first. He expects you to be willing to die for him (though he’d never let anything happen to you- you, the only family he has left).

Also, while ciel hates sharing, especially you, he would be willing and able to share you with lizzy. But she’s the only one.

Ciel specifically appeals to me a lot because he’s old enough to be aware that what he’s doing isn’t morally correct, but also not old enough to actually care. He’s selfish like that but he thinks it’s deserved since he’s gone through so much.

I can’t say I’d mind too much. At first anyway. I’m sure it’d be nice for the first few months, but it’s when he starts getting pushy that it becomes a problem.

I lowkey loved how ciel passed off punishment to Sebastian in your fic and it’s so ic for him bc he prefers to be disconnected from the bits he doesn’t like. He wants a parent and you’re going to play the role or else.

Speaking of, you’re only one person. Do you think he’d try to find a romantic partner for you? Someone to complete his little nuclear family fantasy.

I doubt that Ciel would actively look for a partner for his parent. At least, not to fulfill a nuclear family fantasy. Ciel is too selfish to share his fantasy with more than one liability-- it's not like you want to be here, that much is clear. But managing a second one and having to make sure your relationship is working is too hard for Ciel to actually manage, considering he's a 13-year-old boy who could not care less about romance.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

You don't like the partner Ciel chooses for you, and he gets pouty and petty because you're "ruining the fantasy". Sure many noble families only tolerate each other, but you are supposed to be better than that. You're supposed to be like Ciel's real parents, and his parents loved each other. And you're not doing it right.

And if you do like the partner Ciel chooses for you, then Ciel gets jealous because you like them more than you'll ever like him, don't you? It doesn't matter that it's a different type of love, what matters is you look at them with affection and joy, and you only ever look at Ciel with barely masked contempt for kidnapping you and using his demon to keep you imprisoned.

I don't doubt Sebastian will encourage Ciel to try at least once, but it never ends up well. You might develop a theory that the real reason Sebastian even suggests getting you a partner is so he has a reason to punish someone at Ciel's command.

Obito Uchiha

🔥Obito isn't someone who is religious, if there is a presence like god after all, why did they let Rin die, someone who was innocent and good? He doesn't believe in a higher being that will listen to your wishes if you pray and believe so the very first emotion he might just feel when discovering a real goddess is anger and pain. So much pain. Feelings he has stuffed down for years break out of him as he lashes out on you, wrath and sadness tearing his heart apart. Why didn't you do anything back then? You're clearly shocked by his reaction although instead of anger towards him your heart goes out for him as you pity him, sense in how much pain he is despite all the crimes he has committed. You end up comforting him and to his own surprise he lets you, your very presence warm and soothing as he can't bring himself to push you away. He blames your godly powers for this as he allows you to stroke him gently and whisper sweet words to him, every gesture causing his heart to speed up.

🔥 You end up staying with Obito, be it out of guilt or because you secretly seek out his company too since he has already seen you. In either case, you only make Obito worse as your intention to help him backfires, only in your eyes though. Because in Obito's opinion you definitely help him as your touches and your voice are mending his broken heart and slow down all the racing thoughts inside of his head. You can't possibly be responsible for all the horrible things that happen on earth, you're too kind and pure for that is what he genuinely starts believing after a while, his obsession cleansing out all previously bad images he had of you. He worships you, fitting since you're a literal goddess, might even build you a shrine when he finds out that it's a big honor for any god or goddess to have a shrine build for them, especially since it would be your first shrine since you're still quite unknown among humans. Being the first one to build you a shrine would be a big honor.

🔥 There's something so utterly intimate as he's the first follower you've had in years as you're often ignored in favor of other well-known divine beings who have established themselves among humans. In Obito's opinion there's nothing wrong with that though. He has you all for himself and you don't need anyone besides him, your most loyal and possessive worshipper. Humans would just turn their back on you as soon as something bad happens, he would never do that. The situation grows visibly worse with time because he flips out as soon as he can't find you near the shrine and has a meltdown. You've become a need for him, he can't properly function without your embrace and your calming aura anymore. He needs to be with you. There is even a change of plans now that you have entered his life as he strives to create a world perfect for you, where you don't have to hide and be forgotten in favor of gods who do absolutely nothing for humans. A world for you and him as he will never let you leave his side.

Sebastian Michaelis

🐈‍⬛ Perhaps it's the first time Ciel catches his butler being the closest thing to being alarmed when he senses you long before he sees you, such a powerful and strong presence that manages to even catch him off-guard. He immediately knows what you are as it feels like his very own essence is being pricked, a testament to your own powers. Angels are seen as pure, gods on the other hand don't have to be innocent as he has witnessed them just seeing themselves above every other creature whilst humans foolishly pray for them, naive about the fact that only few actually care. What he is is no secret to you either as you meet his eyes curiously, not faced nor afraid of the demon there. There is a strange and foreign feeling sweeling up like a bubble inside of his chest when piercing red eyes drill themselves into your own shining ones and his composure sways when he gets a whiff of your scent and his pupils turn to slits and his orbs turn magenta.

🐈‍⬛ Sightings of gods among humans and other creatures is fairly rare as they prefer to stay with their own kind, viewing the earth as not worthy. So there is only little information which makes the reveal of your magnificent scent and the discovery of his mate shocking for the demon whilst you only rise your eyebrow intrigued. He doesn't show it on the outside as he goes on as usual with his day as a butler yet on the inside his thoughts and feelings resemble a storm more than anything. Sebastian has never expected to find a mate in a literal goddess and the very idea of a being from heaven and a being from hell indulging in a romantic relationship would make anyone shudder with the sheer wrongness of it. Luckily for Sebastian though, demons are known for their bad reputation of enjoying the sin and the thought only tickles excitement out of him. It's the very wrongness that makes it all the more interesting and thrilling after all. Let's see what you're made of.

🐈‍⬛ Sebastian entertains you, delighted to find out that you actually plan to stay in London for a while and he quickly figures out your motive. You're incredibly bored with your life in heaven. Luckily for you, the demon butler knows how to entertain and keep you on your toes as he ensures that you won't grow bored of him. The very fact that he is a being known as your kind's nemesis makes it all the sinfully sweeter for you and Sebastian is fully aware of that. It flatters him, your fascination with him as you've never seen a demon before in your life and you silently have to admit that he's far more interesting and enjoyable than most of your kind who have just sort of settled down comfortably in their reputation and power and have all become boring. Sebastian likes to tease you about your clear liking you eventually take to him and how your kind would surely abandon you if they would ever find out. Don't delude yourself into thinking that he cares though, he knows fully well that if he taints you, you'll have no place in heaven anymore and no choice but to stay with him.

Ash Landers

▫️ Angels are in general known to be the common company and loyal messengers of gods yet Ash hasn't seen a god for a long time now since he's been banished from heaven due to his fanatic ideas. Despite this betrayal he has no ill will against you when you two meet by sheer accident. He instantly senses what you are and so do you and even if you quickly turn around and try to lose him, Ash is hot on your trails, entranced with you. He catches you eventually in a lonely street where no one is and instantly goes down on his knees, violet eyes brimming with unshed tears and hands clasped together in front of him, staring up at you with unbridled reverence. A goddess right in front of his eyes! What honor! What beauty you possess, shining so brightly among all the pest that surrounds you. Tell him though, what brings you to earth, a place so unfitting for someone as divine as you. He can't let you go on without any protection. Let him escort you.

▫️ He quickly arranges a place for you to stay with the help of the Queen as he uses her to give you an accommodation, unworthy for you yet the best he can provide you with. Whilst you don't mind, the angel apologizes profusely, ashamed to disgrace you with such a simple and plain house. You didn't expect to find a fallen angel on your way down to earth as you've left heaven for the time to simply enjoy time for yourself, free to roam as you're one of the more powerful among your kind. Most would kick someone like Ash away as he no longer belongs to the divine realm yet you find him very fascinating and stay with him for that reason, in a way he's very adorable. Something about the way he worships you, builds you eagerly a shrine only to break down and lament about the fact that it doesn't do you justice flatters you. Ash is quick to obsess over you, how couldn't he when you're a literal goddess, someone he's meant to serve and protect.

▫️ You can be very reassured that this angel will only worship and serve you though as Ash is dedicated and beyond loyal, something you appreciate a lot. He clearly is a very fanatic individual but that's what makes him all the more interesting in your eyes. You allow him to go on with his goals although you don't actively support and help him, not that he would let you. His goal, to purify London, becomes suddenly his sick present of love and adoration for you, to show you his loyalty. Humans don't know how to worship you, casually walking next to you on the streets instead of going down on all fours and being grateful for breathing the same air as you do. You like to reward him with bits of affection from your side, feel a growing fondness for this twisted yet beautiful angel who belongs solely to you. This angel is your dedicated servant who would gladly venture to hell if you'd ask him to do so, who would rip out his own heart and serve it on a silver plate for you if you'd ask it of him. This angel will burn down the entire world for you.

Yui Komori

💎 Yui is rather religious and believes in a god so she'd be pretty overwhelmed when she is actually standing face to face with a real goddess. So much so that she is at a loss for words and doesn't know what to do which leaves her just gawking at you for a few moments, her eyes shimmering with amazement and awe. Yui is only human as she has learnt that there exist other creatures like vampires and demons in this world so she has already started feeling more tiny. Next to an actual goddess she feels insignificant though, although she does not fear you like she fears vampires who want to suck her blood. In fact she starts praying actively to you from that day on in hopes that you listen to her prayers and that she might be able to see you again. Knowing that you exists gives her hope and courage and that is what keeps her motivated and helps her to get over her past and the painful memories she has made. There's a fear of being abandoned by you though.

💎 This fear of being abandoned grows if she doesn't see you for a longer period of time, although she tries to soothe herself by repeatedly telling herself that you probably have other things to attend to. You're a goddess after all, you must be busy with a lot of different things. The loneliness and despair only grows with each day though yet she continues her prayers, even if she feels like bursting out in tears. You're her only ray of light, she doesn't have anyone besides you. So when you show yourself to her again, she's very emotional about it and can't hold back her tears. She would die to have you spend more time with her yet she never speaks up as she's terrified that she might anger you, feels insecure next to someone as great as you are. Her longing is very obvious for your sharp eyes though, if her anxious glances to see if you're still there and the way she follows you like a puppy aren't enough of an indicator, your own powers would let you definitely know.

💎 You'll have to initiate anything as Yui is far too insecure and dazzled to ever speak up about her hidden wishes, too ashamed that she secretly wants the love of a goddess. There's a strong feeling of safety and protection that she associates with you as you're constantly surrounded by a warmth, proof that you're not from this world. Yui could get lost in this warmth which lulls her gently into a sense of comfort, a feeling of home which she longs for every moment. She is quick to grow very clingy around you, although there is still a lingering feeling of insecurity that is covering her like a drape as she still can't shake off the feeling of not being worthy of you. Yui just feels like she could never repay what you give to her everyday. How could she when she's a mere human whilst you're a goddess? She feels like she has to prove herself and it's that fear of not being able to return your love and kindness that sometimes causes her to push herself too far as she sacrifices her own health at times. Luckily you're there to stop her in time.

Karlheinz

🍷 Now this is certainly intriguing for the king of vampires, the one hailed as the strongest man on this earth. The race of gods and goddesses is one not commonly known to mingle in the world of humans, much less in his world so discovering one of your kind in the city where he lives under the disguise of a famous politician and philantrophist is a surprise, but a much welcoming one. Your scent alone already tells him that you're nothing ordinary yet you have hidden your true identity well but that much can be said about him too. You instantly sense that he is no normal human either yet you can't pinpoint just what exactly he is. Both of you only know that you are no mortals. You're slightly terrified since your deepest gut feeling tells you that Karlheinz is not someone you should spend time with yet the Sakamaki thinks differently, fascinated with you. You're definitely not a species he has met before in his life which is pretty impressive considering just how long he has lived already.

🍷 Karlheinz is still being a tad bit careful around you, mainly because he doesn't wish to frighten you but also because as long as he isn't sure just what exactly you are, he thinks he shouldn't be too relaxed even if he is the strongest of his kind and possesses the most powerful magic. Your hopes are futile though as the vampire king very quickly realizes that you must have figured him out and fled the scene but dearest, this won't be as easy as you might think. Whether you intended to or not, you've caught the interest as much as his heart during the time you two have spent together, tip-toeing around each other. Keeping a wonderful goddess by his side sounds wonderful and he doesn't care what he has to do to get his hands on you. Just wait, he'll show you that you only need one man to truly please and worship you instead of the cult of useless followers you may have at the moment.

🔲 Kaneki has already given up on everything and everyone after Jason has brutally torn his body and mind alike apart, he has no reason to believe in some divine people. You're a goddess that just happens to currently reside in Tokyo when you meet Kaneki and sense how broken he is and your first instinct is helping him and his wounded soul, something you often do. You decide to keep your identity a secret though as you're sure he would only resent you if he would find out what you are because you weren't there for him when he would have needed it the most. Instead you disguise yourself as a normal human who just happens to hang out with him a lot and give him something he secretly longs for but doesn't think he will get now. Genuine kindness and understanding, someone who listens to him without any bias. Kaneki, initially hesitant about you who so suddenly entered his life, quickly grows addicted to you, your voice, your scent, everything. You're like glue that keeps the last pieces of his sanity together.

🔲 You only wanted to help but instead it seems like you've worsened the situation as you soon realize that Kaneki has gained a very unhealthy obsession. He's clinging to you desperately all the time and panics as soon as you leave him, begging you to stay with him. You decide to distance yourself for a while from him and just disappear like this over night and no matter how much Kaneki might search for you, he's unable to find you. You on the other hand always know where he is which is why you rush to him as soon as you witness how he starts attacking other ghouls as he believes that they might have killed you and eaten you. You won't let him kill someone who is innocent of the crime he blames them and that's the first time you appear in your true form in order to stop him in his kaguja form as he has lost all sense of reasoning and rational thinking. With your powers it's easy to stop him and he only looks at you in shock and reverence before you touch his forehead and he loses his consciousness.

🔲 When he wakes up in his apartment, he's all alone as you aren't with him but he still remembers very clearly what he has seen. You, surrounded by a white shimmer of light who easily overpowered and calmed him even whilst his kaguja was activated, something he still struggles to controll. It's clear that you are no human to him but you definitely aren't a ghoul either. Kaneki has been a big bookworm before his date with Rize though so he recalls the tales of gods and goddesses and when he considers it, it makes much sense. At least to him as you have always been something divine in his eyes. On that day, he truly tumbles down the rabbit hole of obsession as he finally knows what you really are. The thought of you never wanting to see him again because you might view him as evil terrifies him to no end and he prays feverishly every day and every night for you, even builds you a shrine. If you never show yourself though, Kaneki will attempt suicide because a life without you is no life at all. It's at that point that you return, unable to let him do what he attempts to do in order to see you again.

Ciel likes to watch the sky. He likes to watch how the clouds race to overtake each other, he likes to watch the sun dancing alone in its place, twirling its colorful skirt of orange, yellow and pink during the hours that pass until finally the moon takes its place.

Quiet moments like this now, where he just sits in his armchair, his work all done and Sebastian far away, is when he can think about the things he's lost. But also the ones he won. If Sebastian had any knowledge about such thoughts, Ciel would certainly be subjected to his jokes and mockery.

The demon, while bound by the contract, could still make fun of his little master and he knew exactly how to embarrass the young lord. But Sebastian didn't need to know how the boy thinks about his twin brother, his parents, the employees and his childhood friend, Y/n; If they were alive now they would be maybe thirteen or fourteen, just like him and his brother. It was a fateful day, indeed.

The murder, the cult, Ciel hates remembering it, but he doesn't know how to let it all go. He's a child and there's no one he can ask for help - even if there was, perhaps his pride wouldn't allow it. He didn't ask for help when he was kidnapped, he didn't ask for help when he went through countless assassination attempts, nor did he ask for help with difficult tasks that the queen assigned him. He was the Phantomhive heir, the family's leader, he couldn't just simply ask for help.

The count narrows his blue eyes at the brooding darkness that has settled in his office, counting how many grains of sand fall into the hourglass and how long he has left in peace before Sebastian shows up to annoy him.

Maybe fifteen minutes.

With enough time for the boy to put his small plan into action, he pulled a wooden board from one of the drawers and placed it on the table. Ciel, by and large, was not superstitious, but recent events had left him puzzled. Moreover, he had a demon as his butler, a boy with super strength as his gardener, a sniper as his maid, and a soldier as his cook. In any case, he had even encountered death gods.

Therefore, if he suspected that the presence lingering over his shoulders while he worked or the entity hiding his items and making them appear in different places was something to be investigated, then he would investigate until his doubts were cleared. The giggles and whispers were becoming unsettling. Of course, he heard voices, but they were the voices of occultists, screams and cries from when they died at the hands of Sebastian.

But this particular voice was incredibly irritating and almost familiar.

Ciel scanned the wooden surface, wondering if he was a fool for buying it. The boy was almost certain that Sebastian knew about the board, but he decided not to comment; the butler had been rather distant since they returned from London that morning. Ciel didn't mind, quickly reading the rules and holding the pointer in his hands, trying to see something through it.

There was nothing… yet.

Ciel laid the pointer on the board and sighed, placing his fingers on it, ready to start. He hadn't said anything yet, but an aura already seemed to completely envelop his office. Or maybe he was anxious; he couldn't tell.

"Is there anyone there?" Ciel murmured, his firm voice echoing in the silent room.

For several moments, nothing happened. He really didn't expect anything to happen, judging this whole thing as something foolish that only became popular because of the horror stories that circulated in cities. He stared at the board intently, each letter in cursive, every mystical symbol adorning it, waiting for a response that would satisfy him. Impatiently, he repeated the question once more.

"Is there anyone there?" He looked at the pointer and then around. "If there is, give me a sign."

This time, the pointer began to move slowly across the board as if the entity on the other side was drowsy, gliding from one letter to another with a calmness that Ciel himself didn't possess. Ciel watched with intensity, his expression impassive. But inside, a strange feeling took hold of him.

It was real, after all. As real as shinigamis or Sebastian. He stifled another sigh in his throat.

"Who is there?" He asked, the words leaving his lips with determination.

Who behind the veil was tormenting him, holding on to him tightly so as not to be pulled into the forgetfulness of eternal sleep. He put more force on the pointer as if everything depended on the answer he would receive.

The letters came together to form words, and Ciel remained focused, but a hint of skepticism was present in his gaze when the words spelled out a name. Your first and last name.

"Y/N?" He wondered aloud.

Ciel may have lost a lot, but he also gained a lot. He gained another family, gained new friends allies, gained a new chance.

And yet… He hadn't gained you back. Or had he?

For a second, he let the pointer rest on the board, feeling a heavy sensation settle in his chest as he thought about the days when you used to stay by his side when he was bedridden with asthma, telling him your silly stories and jokes, all while holding his hand and looking tenderly at him. You were his best friend. And he missed you a lot.

And now you were here. You were here.

He placed his finger on the pointer again, still feeling doubtful if it was really you or some other spirit. Confidently, he asked something that only you knew. "What was the nickname that only you called me, and why?"

The nickname you used for him when it was just the two of you. Not for his brother, not for Ciel. If it was really you there, you would notice the small differences, as you did when you were alive.

The pointer moved, taking with each movement a beat of the young earl's heart. One by one, the letters formed a nickname forgotten by time and bitter memories of the only Phantomhive still wandering through this tedious world.

"Pleiades, that's what I used to call you." There was a pause, and Ciel felt his entire body trembling with the confirmation that yes, it was you on the other side. He straightened up in his chair, trying to show that he was calm — little did he know that you could perceive how surprised he was.

And you would tease him about it later.

"Just like your hair, they are blue, an optical phenomenon caused by the dispersion of light in the Earth's atmosphere." You explained, nodding as if he could see you. Ciel rolled his eyes but almost unconsciously smiled.

"I see you remain a know-it-all." He teased.

And you stuck your tongue out at him, moving your arms to make the chair he was sitting in slide backward. Ciel's cheeks immediately turned pink as a little yelp escaped his lips. He hadn't expected you to have more tricks up your sleeve, but soon he regained his composure and cleared his throat, watching you move the pointer.

"One of us has to be clever," You chuckled. "Obviously, I'm the smart friend."

Ciel let out a long sigh. "Your knowledge is all random, though."

You shrugged. What importance did any kind of knowledge have now that you were dead? You said nothing for a few minutes, running your fingers over the wood of the board and the supposedly mystical symbols. Being dead was boring, different for everyone, and you weren't even sure how your soul managed to escape the shinigamis for so long.

But you had one certainty; you were stuck in this world for some reason still. In many stories, there would be an unfulfilled desire or a want, and you had several, but you had made peace with the fact that you could no longer fulfill them. So what was still keeping you there?

"Hey, can I ask you something?"

Ciel nodded, gesturing with his hand for you to continue.

"Can you free me? Can you invite me out?"

Ciel had already broken some rules, especially the one that said he couldn't play alone and that the player should have a form of spiritual protection, whatever they had faith in — a crucifix, a talisman, anything. Ciel, however, had a mark on his eye, so you assumed that nullified this rule. Did that thing serve as a protective mark, though?

The boy remained silent for some time, seemingly weighing the pros and cons of taking such action. To bind a spirit to himself, to the world of the living, when he knew he should let you rest in peace, when he knew such agreements were dangerous.

But he was still the selfish earl who liked to monopolize your time; he was still that same sickly boy who needed a friend. And no one else could be his friend but you. Only you understood him, after all.

He nodded.

It was foolishness, but not even Sebastian could have stopped him. He pressed the pointer harder, desperate for it to work, but of course, it would work if you were already in front of him, the dead proof that there could be life in death.

"I invite you, Y/n, to leave this board."

A warm feeling flooded your chest, as if your skin were kissed by the sun again after so long. You savored it for a moment, smiling, feeling strangely more alive than before, and withdrew your hand from the pointer.

"Can you see me?" You asked, your voice hoarse from not speaking for months.

But Ciel didn't seem to understand, not yet at least. So you touched his cheek as you did when congratulating him on a chess victory, and he felt it, his eyes widening as he assimilated the situation. You figured that now that you touched him, he could hear you, so you asked the question again.

And slowly, he nodded. You could only imagine what he thought of your bloodstained shirt and disheveled appearance, so different from the one you once proudly preserved. Times change, and so do you, and you were like this now, a lost ghost that not even death seemed to want.

You smiled, squeezing both of his cheeks and watching him shudder. It was good to see him, good to be back, even if nothing would be the same. Nothing could ever be the same again, but being able to touch him again after so long, you didn't hesitate to hug him.

You were together again.
