Dear Grandma.
Tumblr media
In a quaint, weathered cottage nestled amidst the rolling hills of a serene countryside, the legacy of a remarkable woman continued to weave its intricate threads long after her physical presence had departed. The matriarch had transcended the realms of mortality, but her unwavering devotion to her sons and the entire family endured as a silent, ethereal force, manifesting in the most tender and subtle of ways.
Within the walls of the cottage, memories lingered like the soft fragrance of wildflowers carried on a gentle breeze. Every creak of the floorboards seemed to whisper her name, and the flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows that mirrored her indomitable spirit. Family photographs adorned the walls, each frame capturing a moment of shared joy. Among them, a portrait of her radiated a timeless warmth, her eyes twinkling with love and wisdom.
Her sons, now grown with families of their own, often felt an inexplicable sense of reassurance in the midst of life's challenges. Little did they know that Grandma was the source of this solace, her unseen presence wrapping them in an embrace of unwavering support. During moments of indecision, a subtle gust of wind would carry the faint aroma of her signature seasoning. The scent, a comforting reminder of her nurturing nature, guided them through even the most tumultuous decisions.
As the seasons turned, Grandma's influence painted the canvas of their lives. In the verdant embrace of spring, the garden flourished with a riot of colors, much like the love she had sowed in their hearts. Vibrant blooms seemed to reach for the sky in an unspoken tribute to her enduring legacy. The rustling leaves of the aging oak tree in the backyard carried whispers of her laughter, as if she were relishing in the moments of playfulness shared with her children.
Summer evenings brought soft, golden sunsets that mirrored the glow of her spirit. Fireflies, like celestial messengers, would gather near her favorite reading nook, casting a shimmering halo of light. Her sons found solace in the quiet company of these luminous creatures, unaware that they were her chosen emissaries, conveying messages of love across the veil that separated their worlds.
Autumn leaves painted the landscape with hues of amber and scarlet, and as the family gathered for their annual harvest feast, the aroma of her secret recipe stuffing filled the air. Amidst laughter and stories, her essence mingled with the clinking of glasses and the joyous chatter, a reminder that her love transcended the boundaries of life and death.
Winter brought a cozy embrace, as the family huddled by the fireplace, sharing tales of days gone by. The crackling embers seemed to dance to the rhythm of her favorite lullabies, creating a symphony that resonated with the deep bond she had cultivated. The eldest daughter, overcome with a sense of gratitude, would often find a tear sliding down her cheek, a tear she could not explain, but one that carried the weight of her unspoken presence.
In this realm where the tangible and ethereal converged, Grandma's legacy remained woven into the very fabric of their lives. Her love, immeasurable and timeless, continued to guide her family through the intricate tapestry of existence, an ever-present reminder that bonds forged by love extend beyond the veil of mortality. And as her family found comfort in the moments that mirrored her essence, Grandma's spirit danced on, an eternal caretaker of her beloved sons and family, forever watching over them in the embrace of the universe's silent embrace.

because I know you do; number 11 for the fic writer asks
Phil you knew exactly what you were unleashing on the dash and you asked this question anyway and I love that about you.
11. Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?
DO I EVER!!!
Starting from canon and working outwards, I have a playlist for the Delacroix/Wilson family home vibes called songs to fix boats to, my playlist of songs that I think Bucky might have discovered and enjoyed while finding his way through the 21st century entitled why this, and my magnum opus DJ White Wolf, which is a playlist of songs that I imagine Sam would have compiled for Bucky as part of a survey course in music that he missed over the past century. I also have a general Sam/Bucky playlist for when I need to pick up the right vibe while writing them, and my big damn heroes playlist for when something action-y needs to happen.
The Bake Off AU has its own set of playlists, too: overworked and underbaked, which was for the overall story but also another way of outlining the narrative so I could be sure I stayed on track, waterside wooing, which is the playlist that I wrote chapter 16 to, and eleven cakes and a capri sun, which was basically a playlist for Steve and Peggy's wedding reception in the prequel fic.
And then for the Formula 1 AU, we all know Bucky's douchebro playlist a walking ed hardy ad, but a lot of chapter 7 was written to my go-to 'there are babies here and we're all very tender and protective' playlist which is literally jut called SoftTM, and then chapter 9 was written to my most eloquently titled playlist of all: bruh.
Thank you for asking, sorry about how long this answer was.

11) WHAT BOOK FANDOM DO YOU AFFILIATE YOURSELF WITH THE MOST: .....Gaudy again? That's genuinely just my friend group. The Master and Commander books probably count for this one.
24) FIRST BOOK YOU REMEMBER BEING OBSESSED WITH: That would be the 104-book Kentucky Thoroughbred racing young adult series "Thoroughbred."
30) ONE BOOK EVERYONE SHOULD READ: 84 Charing Cross Road, a short and sweet collection of letters between a classics-loving screenwriter in New York and an antiquarian bookshop in England in the 1950s. Helene Hanff's writing is charming and evocative, and you grow to love the bookshop staff as much as she does.

Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?
[From this ask meme]
Oh! Um... You know? I can't think of one? I... don't tend to resist when a new idea strikes me? ^^" Even if I haven't published it, I've at least started writing it.
There are... less tropes, and more techniques I want to try that I haven't found the right idea for. I really want to play with flashbacks, and how to work them into narration in a way that flows? I want to practise working symmetry into my longer stories.
But tropes... Like, the closest I can think of is Body Sharing, but specifically how the characters would deal with romantic relationships that they don't share while body-sharing (complex and weird polycules are my jam), but... I've written (started writing), uh... three fics with that premise, it's just I didn't get as far as I'd like into them before I got distracted? So I didn't get to the really juicy bits of interpersonal shenanigans I had planned ^^"
-
Oh, um... I'm sure there must be? XD Uh... infidelity plots? I really don't like writing that at all. Um...
Oh! Blame the Bastard! I hatehatehate that trope. Haaaaaaate it. I'm pretty sure I'm never going to write it, not unless I plan to subvert it. Not even if the Jealous Wife is the obvious villain. I hate that this is even a trope, tbh, that it's prevalent enough in our stories, and realistic enough to human nature to be that prevalent. Blame the person who did something wrong, ffs. Argh!

Where did you get the idea for Cielbug and Coattails?
Hi again, thanks for your interest! Oh, Cielbug and Coattails... Two such vastly different creations... Well, let's start with Cielbug, who just kind of Happened. One night I doodled this little picture of Ciel and Sebastian for a meme
Tumblr media
and I realized I liked how goofy Ciel looked, so I drew more, but I also found him to be very off-putting so I captioned it
Tumblr media
and next thing I knew he was officially a bug, he lived in my house, and he had nothing in common with O!Ciel whatsoever
On the opposite end of the creativity scale, Coattails started as a short story I wrote in 2014, which I initially had no plans to share with anyone other than my sister. I liked Dadbastian and the idea of Ciel having to cope properly with his trauma (which was not yet fully revealed), so I always kept the idea in the back of my mind as something I wanted to expand upon. However, I didn't consider it very seriously until 2017's twin reveal. My feelings on the twin reveal are closer to positive now, but at the time I really didn't like it. I decided I wanted to prove to the fandom what I thought a good plot twist for my favorite series should look like and went about making a fic that would showcase it.
Even though I was pretty driven, I didn't really have expectations in the beginning for how long Coattails would get or who would like it. I decided I would just write it for myself, and anyone who tagged along for the journey would be a nice bonus. I knew the angle that would interest me most was Dadbastian, and I knew I already had a short story about Ciel and Sebastian that I really liked, so I used that as a base for what Coattails would become.
My sister was probably a bigger help in development than she realizes! The short story I wrote in 2014 is now chapter 2 of Coattails, and initially there was no catalyst for Ciel's shift into a more angry, sensitive person. My sister said that it felt jarring for Ciel to start acting up for no reason other than puberty, so I decided that should be a plot point, which ultimately lead to the creation of Lyle Reubin. Sebastian also needed a reason to go from being a demon to a dad, so I thought one up. Then came Henri Fairclough as a villain and means of exploring all of Coattails's themes. Once I had the bones in place, I started fleshing the story out however I pleased, just writing whatever felt fun and interesting and engaging, and that's sort of how I do it to this day.
That was a bit long-winded so tl;dr: my inspiration for Coattails was spite mixed with writerly passion, as well as some of my own experiences and feelings when I was growing up.
Thanks for granting me the opportunity to explain this! Have a wonderful day! 😊

This is a whumpblr/writeblr space! Sometimes I’ll post/reblog writerly posts, memes, etc., but a lot of the posts/RBs will be about whump. I post original writing and reblog the work of others that I enjoy, gifs, tropes, prompts, and other such things.
I’m down with asks and tag games but may not respond right away. If I seem to ignore you, it’s not personal, it just means real life is taking priority at that moment.
I love comments and feedback on my writing and welcome them with open arms.
A note on age: I know I can’t actually stop you from accessing this blog, but I do not wish to interact with people under 18. It’s not personal, I’m sure you’re great, but it has everything to do with my job IRL. Please respect this boundary and come back on your 18th birthday.
Check out: My Most Common Tropes
My favourite elements of whump have to do with power dynamics, intimidation, dread, and angst. I love captivity-with-a-cause: kidnapping for ransom or as leverage over someone else, prison (in fantasy or historical settings, less so for modern settings though it’s not a hard rule), and the like. Fantasy presents so many creative versions of this trope, so I do love me some fantasy whump! It also gives lots of opportunity for dungeons, shackles, and other fun implements like that. Gratuitous tying or chaining up is always delightful to see. Pining, desperately trying to protect a loved one (…and failing), and self-sacrifice are other big tropes I love, so expect to see lots of those!
As for characters, I love it when they are as far as you can get from perfect, pure, and innocent—when they’re good enough people, but whose flawed or maybe even problematic decisions lead them into trouble. Always, always, I want my characters to have a hand in their own fates. Pure-hearted victims of the narrative who simply fall into a whumpy situation are cute and fun, but not what I tend to write.
A few odds and ends I’m such a sucker for, so you’ll probably find them in my writing:
Sibling relationships
Allusions to songs, books, folklore, and musicals
Nature and weather helping to set the scene (oh my goodness, how many times can I work snow into one story?)
If romance, either slow burn or instant attraction
…with a sprinkling of “huh, I don’t understand what I’m feeling, wtf is going on??”
‘In the nick of time’ rescues
Painfully awkward moments
Fluff and comfort, but only once they’ve really earned it
Almost kisses
Hard choices
Happy endings
You probably won’t find much gore or explicit noncon here, but there might be some elements of those in my stories or in reblogs. I don’t write BBU or pet whump.
My original “whumpy things I like” post can be found here.
Anyway, thanks for reading! 💕 Happy whumping!

If you haven't already answered it (I can't find your FAQ >A< My tumblr literacy is GONE!) it's been on my mind since I first saw your username. Is it Pseudo or Pseudonym? What is the story behind it too?
Thank you for asking! ISTG my tumblr has been under construction for so long that I keep forgetting I actually have to construct it. Let this be the first thing I link to for my FAQs because it comes up often.
I went through many name changes over the years as a fan of things, but the time came when I could no longer be contained by the label Enjoyer and finally evolved into my ultimate form; Creator.
I started playing god back in the grand old times of February 2023 (this blog was created around March 2023 in the midst of me writing my first story so I could make press-releases about it because having-fun-is-an-all-ages-activity). This was before I thought I could even make art; I was purely a writer and not a very good one at th I was pretty decent at it.
There are a few things going on with my username. Pseudonym (fictitious name), and Nymphomania (excessive sexual desire), and together Pseudonymphomania is fictitious excessive sexual desire (because I write smut haha). I'm on the asexual spectrum and the process of writing enables me and others to experience it theoretically (you can even say Fictitiously).
In terms of what kind of fan I am, I veer on the silly side of things. I am a purveyor of comedy and I often make literary or meme references or a mashup of the two. On the flip-side, I'm also an essayist and fan-academic. A Pseudonym is something that is used in the writerly world and especially in the fan space, so why shouldn't I be a little silly and call-back to it?
The real question is, what the fuck I decided to use as my icons back then:
Since I wasn't a digital artist until after I finished my first story, I used Canva and free assets to create my first one. I had a kind of bland beige background with four different coloured hands reaching toward a strawberry ice cream cone. The ice cream is phallic imagery, especially with the pink head making it look like a peen. I used a serif font (evokes an image of classic literature) for the username. And it was a visual travesty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I soon refined my taste and I made a second pfp with an all-white background to imitate the pages of a book. For clarity, I used a sans-serif font for the username this time and curved it into a circle, added two hands grasping it like looking into a crystal ball (the process of writing). The ice cream is dripping/melting [.............] and there's a little heart (universal visual for love) at the tip of it, acting as a sprinkle (representing "Prn with Feelings", an AO3 tag)
The thought process behind this kind of nonsense is what you can expect from me for literally everything. I've since stopped using cryptic symbolism and just use my own art, but that doesn't mean I stopped being ridiculous.
If you've seen me in the other places I hang around and wonder why it's not Pseudonymphomania everywhere even though I sign all my works as that...
PseudonymFanfic (Reddit): Created April 2023. Character Limits for username. At the time, I was only a writer. I couldn't change it after.
PseudonymDicks (Twitter): Created March 2023. Character Limits for username. Used to be called PseudonymFanfic like my Reddit and hosted all my works, including SFW and NSFW) until I was shadowbanned for containing too much flavor and never taken off it. This became NSFW only and my name changed to Dicks to reflect that. PseudonymDicks is also what I'll be using for my NSFW patreon when I get that set up, unless there's a restriction on that kind of naming that will force me to be PseudonymDix or something, oh my lords. Please no.
PseudonymWorks (Twitter): Created January 2024. SFW and Suggestive works only. The second twitter exists because a tree falling in a forest should be heard by someone who wants to harvest the firewood. PseudonymWorks is also what I'll be using for Etsy, Kofi, Patreon, etc. when I get those set up.
I continue to be Pseudonymphomania on here, AO3 and Bluesky and wherever else I am not limited by how long my name is that everyone knows who I am but nobody knows how to spell my name. (The mirth this gives me feels delightful)
"How are you so prolific?" Obsession. Some things become a catalyst for improvement that you will never see coming. How could I predict liking DiaLuci so much that it would spawn a million works from my abused hands when I originally started playing Obey Me for a whim and a lark?
Fandom is an island in Hell and I am determined to enjoy it.
I hope you enjoyed reading my personal lore. Thank you for being here. :)

The post was getting very long, so I started a new thread, but this comes from this meme post here. Thank you for the tag, @dreaming-about-seireitei!
I'll no-pressure tag @withoutteamalice, @inkyperson, @crysuzumushi, and @mikansei, using the very scientific metric, "the last 4 people who left narrative tags on one of our posts/reblogs." Also anyone else who wants to!!!! (Please feel free to tag us so I can read your lists!)
list 5 things you can talk about for hours without preparing any material:
I’m bad at these kinds of memes because I know they’re hypothetical, but then my brain is like, “Well, I would not do that.” XP I wouldn’t talk for hours about something unless I were completely convinced my conversation partner was 1) equally interested in the thing, and, specifically, 2) open to being engaged for that duration. I don’t want to be too much and burn them out on me and then not get to be friends with them anymore. 😖
But five things I would really love to be in dialogue with people about for hours, Bleach edition:
The maps and calendars of Soul Society — Especially the potential for maps that engage with space-time in interesting ways, and don’t fit the form of what most people on Earth envision as a ‘typical’ map.
Any kind of municipal/regional service in Soul Society (mail, foodways, billing, professional services) — Stuff that would show up in the Encyclopedia Soulttanica, essentially.
Ecology/evolution in Soul Society — Both in terms of biome/weather/flora/fauna and also in terms of how shinigami came to be. I’ve been back to thinking recently about shinigami having had a very different form prior to modern human development. But have also been wondering about the possibility that Soul Society (not just the Yamamoto-created society, but the place in general) potentially being a much younger universe than ours, and despite the “longevity” of shinigami as individual units, their world actually being much younger than life on Earth. And also like, if it is a true reflection/shadow of the Living World, is their ecology complex enough to weather sharp changes? Or is it more prone to ecological collapse because it lacks the ecological complexity to support different epochs of life? (Re: the existential threat of Yhwach.)
Regional foods/holidays/accents in Soul Society — Possibly in contrast to the musings above, but (mostly) Rukongai culture as NOT just a reflection of what exists in the living world, and life not just being a waiting game, but the possibility of rich life/culture/time worth having in Rukongai.
My fanfic, your fanfic. — I miss having writerly community. It’s rare and difficult to come by in any fandom, in any era, but I feel like the parallel play aspect of fandom has only increased, and that’s a huge bummer to me!

5 writers/5 things
@moriondors tagged me to talk about five things you might find in a story of mine and tag five writers to answer the same question:
food as an expression of love, but the food is like, REALLY specific
one (1) single passing reference to a historical detail that I researched extremely thoroughly that no one would have noticed if it were wrong
the team-as-family dynamic
reassuring hand-squeezes, both platonic and romantic
books that a character is reading as a form of characterization
no-pressure tagging: @birdhapley @philtstone @bisamwilson @ankahikoibaat @sonseulsoleil
