Things I disagree with you on:

That you extrapolated the tenet of those two posts beyond their pithy capabilities (it's not wrong to do so, I just disagree with where you went with it)

Perceived recklessness of people on the internet framed specifically around problematic material that is allowable in fiction but is illegal in real life

You know that I am a smut writer and artist. I deal exclusively in happy healthy fun times especially with concepts of romanticism and eroticism entwined. It can get poetic up in here. Well, what? It seems like I'm not a problem, but that is why I am against censorship of any works, no matter how squicked out I am about them. Having been a part of professional organizations and other such things, who gets to decide what is censorable is a concern that I have because I have seen such machinations in action. We live in a moment in time where even payment processors have a say in what kind of nsfw gets to be on a platform that isn't even theirs [recent Gumroad nsfw policy and knock-on-effect on other platforms] and making it hard for people to earn a living in what is clearly a marketable industry, whether that be Sex Work or Artist. There is especially an encroachment and banning on Queer Works because it is not mainstream and it is therefore considered deviant/inherently sexual [Trans post-op top surgery pictures being targeted; uneven enforcement on Tumblr etc.]. And in the real world, Queer people being compared to pedophiles is a real problem and mirrors the exact talking points of people taking action against fiction. And as happy and romantic as my saucy works can get, I would be considered Reckless for posting it on a public platform because a child Might see it.*** Stripped of the fan-cultural lens, the pithy statements I reblogged have this to say: "Who gets to decide what kind of fiction deserves to go?" My answer is "No one, because we would all be bad at it."

***Speaking as a person who was shadow-banned on Twitter because someone did not like how I depicted a ribbon-wrapped post-coitus Lucifer even though I hid him under a "sensitive" blur filter.

AO3 Abuse Team is staffed by volunteers and they do not have enough manpower to handle some reports in a timely manner by volume; I recently read a thread on Reddit where someone encountered real CP embedded into a fic who reported it and it was not dealt with for days, specifically because people were clogging the report system with questionable-but-allowed fics instead of Real problems. It leads to a boy-who-cried-wolf effect where those reports are triaged as non-urgent because of how many there are; not only questionable explicit smutworks, but also if the Reporter submitted a report simply for a ship they don't like and labeled it Child Abuse (this... is common.)
