Woman has ovaries and a uterus; such are the particular conditions that lock her in her subjectivity; some even say she thinks with her hormones. Man vainly forgets that his anatomy also contains hormones and testicles. He grasps his body as a direct and normal link with the world that he believes he apprehends in all objectivity, whereas he considers woman's body an obstacle, a prison, burdened by everything that particularizes it.
Simone De Beauvoir, The Second Sex, 1949

To be clear!
Women do not dress to impress men. Women dress to impress themselves or... other women!

Even today women are looked upon not so much as the creators but simply as the custodians of the progeny they carry within their bodies. And in some insidious recess of the male mind, women are still regarded as polluters of men.

i've stared into the animanga fanart abyss and my conclusion is when you waif-ify characters it's kind of lame and overdone but if you broad-ify them now that's good. that's always welcome

I flirted shamelessly with a woman at the Hood Eagle just now. She was so pretty I couldn't help it. She was so good at flirting that I was compelled, possessed if you will, to flirt back.
It all started at the freezers when I reached in for a bag of frozen shrimp and grits and began to read the label.
"You gon' buy that FROZEN stuff?"
I looked up into the face of an angel. Brown skinned, bespectacled with a face so mesmerizingly symmetrical you could use its angles to measure for new baseboards. Hair going slightly grey at the temples and a smile so electric that I'm sure that serial killers have been put to death with less.
"I was thinking about it."
Without breaking eye contact, she reached out with her perfectly manicured hand in a gesture that told me that I was to hand her the bag of frozen shrimp and grits without question. I did as I was told.
She read the back of the bag with a face full of skepticism and disapproval. She made "tut-tut" noises with her tongue shook her head slowly back and forth signifying her disdain.
"This frozen stuff ain't half as good as homemade."
Then in a coup de grace move she looked up from the bag and directly into my eyes.
"I make my own.", she said without even attempting to hide the invitation.
And it was in that moment that I fell in love. That I became heavy with child. That I began shopping in my head for a bigger bed and better underwear and a backyard swingset.
Then, like women do, she just walked away slowly. Purse flung over her shoulder.
She wound up standing behind me at the checkouts. She had neglected to get a shopping cart and was holding too many things in her hands. She asked the checker...
"Do you happen to have one of those basket thingies?"
And this is when all the chivalry that's been buried underneath a mountain of cluelessness rose up in my chest and I summoned all the bass I could muster in my voice.
"Would you like my cart?"
"Are you sure?", she sang.
"Of course. I'm all done. It's all yours."
I pushed it toward her and, again, she didn't break eye contact.
"You're pretty handy.", she said.
And then, in front of God and everybody, she winked. A wink that transpired in slow motion for me. And, by the time she touched lash to lash, I was cursing mother nature.
Then, she released me. Leaving me to walk out to the Subaru in a daze.
I don't even remember how I got home.

Why are only women questioned, like do you know how to cook? or how will you handle your kids with your career?
I mean, NO! people, it's not our hobby to cook or clean and stay at home to raise kids. To be a homemaker is a personal choice for both men and women. And, yes, some women are ambitious and have goals to achieve. Also, cooking, cleaning, and raising kids are not specifically for women. Even men should know how to cook and clean. If a man with goals is not questioned about his choices similarly, it is not appropriate to judge a woman for her life choices. If two people are married, they have equal responsibilities towards their home and kids. We need to break this loop to bring a change in society. It's not always a ''woman,'' people! 🔊🙄

I long to hear that you have declared an independency. And, by the way, in the new code of laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make, I desire you would remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands. Remember, all men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.
Abigail Adams, letter to her husband

“Girls develop more quickly than boys” is an egregious, bald-faced lie the culture promotes in order to victim-blame girls who are victims of rape, and to absolve young men who rape girls and women. Yes, women older than them. Yes, their teachers. It takes two to tango and none of the culture’s pseudoscientific drivel regarding disparities in pubescent development between girls and boys will ever change that.
