hey, so I’m in chemo, am gluten free and low egg and need ideas for high protein kind of ‘nibble’ meals (also low iron). I have little appetite and everything tastes funky. help?

please ignore the "kick the craving" and "guilt-free" designation on these. they recently rebranded as a "diet food", but it used to say on the back that they were developed by a woman going through chemo who was craving a sweet treat with some protein. these are a really delicious little snack with some substantial nutrition to them.

I just realized how long I’ve actually been completed separated from the fandom and, to be transparent, you all are still my favorite. I don’t know how many of the fandom OGs are even still on here--though I have seen a few of you with the recent update, which makes me happy--so I wanted the opportunity to catch up.

A few personal updates on my end:

Some of you have been with me through my undergrad years, graduate, and earliest years in the work world. It’s been almost if not a full decade. I’m grateful to all of you who’ve stuck around and hope you all are doing well! It truly doesn’t seem like it’s been that long.

Those of you who have followed me for that long may remember that I taught classes at the university. I later went into a slightly different side of it. I learned a lot in that time, had a lot of great opportunities, and met fascinating people. However, in the strictly professional sense, my department became an increasingly difficult place to work. That’s its own dark, twisted story of abuse (a word I don’t use lightly), lies, politics, games, and corruption. I finally quit my job a couple of years ago and took a complete leap of faith in an entirely new field. I’m still contracted with the university as a guest lecturer, but teach something completely different. I’m much happier, and even took up a job as a fitness instructor on the side after getting certified in that.

I’ll be 30 this year, which is frightening, but I’m better equipped to face that reality than I ever have been (despite it being a scary, lonely life stage). To think I started this blog when I was only 19 or 20...

I still write, just not fan fiction.

how is everything now? it’s been a while since i’ve last checked in.

it’s been even longer since our very first interaction together. time truly does fly, and i’m glad to experience the passage of such with you.

i’m trying my best to be happy and fulfilled these days. i’m not good at making friends in the slightest, but i’ve met some nice people that i may love dearly in the future.

i hope the same sentiment goes for you, dear. i hope you’re happier these days and eating well. if not, i’m sure it’ll pass eventually. i’ll wish for your solace and comfort here.

i know this is a little disjointed, and i apologize for being so. i just wanted to free a couple lingering thoughts from this past week.

Hi everyone. Sorry for being pretty much MIA for quite some time. I’ve been so, so, so sad. Just really, really sad. :(

Some things that I enjoyed doing (like writing, cosplay, going out, watching/reading anime/manga etc...) didn’t make me happy. I cried more than I smiled/laughed and was just stressed every day. BUT, I promise that I’m feeling better. So much better than before. Not 100%, but I’m getting there. I know I said that in my previous post, but I went back to being super sad.

Anyway, I have a couple of stories that I finished and will be posting them tonight. It was just a way for me to get back into writing. I did receive a few requests which I am so thankful for and will get to them.

I’m a bit slow lol so just give me time. I’ll be working on the ones that I find easiest first.
