Breha: *giggling*
Bail: *annoyed*
Mace: You want… to give Kenobi back? Didn’t you fight tooth and nail to get him moved in with you two.
Breha: We did, we adore him, he’s such a sweetheart, please don’t take him back.
Bail: Take him back or I’m tanning his hide.
Breha: Careful, he might like that.
Mace: *head in hands* What could he have possibly done to offend you this much?
Breha: *laughing* It was at brunch- with my SISTER-
Bail: I don’t care about that part, I have never seen something so vulgar-
Breha: *breaking out into giggle snorts*
Bail: He put a tea bag right into a glass of champagne.
Breha: *snorting louder* I’ve never seen my sister and husband agree on something before, they both hated it. I adore Obi-Wan, you cannot have him back.
Bail: That was a thirty-thousand dollar bottle-
Breha: Why is it the only time you can stand to criticize him it’s something good related? What did he feed you that has made you so biased against his odd tastes?
Bail: *thousand yard stare* there are some things I cannot speak of.
Mace: …he used to feed me salt cookies when he was tiny.
Bail: 😳
Breha: 👀
Mace: Yeah. He always said he mixed the ingredients up, but I think he’s just… like that. I think he burnt off half his taste buds on Mandalore later, he’s always been a bit of a mess.
Breha: 😍 I adore him. We’re keeping him.
Bail: ugh. I need a refund. Or a therapist to break the trauma-bond.
Mace: Good luck with that. Didn’t work for me when he was a toddler, and that’s the easiest age to remove a trauma-bond. Have fun. *hangs up on them*

From Atlanta to Chicago [...]. These cop cities are training grounds for police violence and must be dismantled to restore a world where life is precious.
In a stunning yet utterly predictable act, Chicago’s “cop academy” has officially opened on the West Side complete with a ribbon-cutting in front of fake street signs and fake housing.
In a city reeling from extreme poverty, a lack of affordable housing, myriad environmental injustices, food apartheid, [...] and in a city where at least 65,000 people are experiencing homelessness, the leadership of the city of Chicago spent $128 million to build fake homes on the city’s resource-starved West Side where officers can practice the violence and brutality that they will mete out to Chicago residents.
---
In a disturbing photo, Mayor Lightfoot, [...] Fire Commissioner Nance-Holt and others smile while cutting a red ribbon, proud to have brought this into being. Adding insult to injury, the thirty-two-acre cop academy was built on the city’s West Side, where decades of racist policy (such as redlining and other housing discrimination and disinvestment) by the city government in this majority-nonwhite community have already given way to poverty and population loss. (In just one example, the Rahm Emanuel administration closed half of the West Side’s mental health clinics in 2012, then shuttered numerous West Side schools in his historic closure of fifty schools in 2013.) [...]
---
Lest there be any doubt as to whether or not West Siders actually want this cop academy, in 2018 the organizers of the No Cop Academy campaign polled West Garfield Park residents [...]. 95 percent recommended that the city invest in something else - beyond the Chicago Police Department [...]
What kind of society eagerly spends millions of dollars to build fake neighborhoods, but cannot muster the funds to provide actual housing for the unhoused? What kind of society would rather stage and practice violence than provide mental health resources or violence interruption to communities reeling from it everyday? Unfortunately, such questions arise on a routine basis in this city.
---
And it is not only in this city. [...] For Chicago, like so many cities across the US, we must remember that policing is not a “rational” response to something called “crime.” Instead, it is a war on poor people (particularly Black and Brown poor people). As Ruth Wilson Gilmore argues, this war treats incarceration as a solution to social and economic ills while conveniently stripping poor and working-class people of color of their political rights and autonomy. [...]
---
Additionally, in a cynical move decried by Chicago youth organizers, a chapter of the Boys and Girls Club is set to open at the facility. This is despite Chicago having the second most killings by police of youth under eighteen in the country, and despite several high-profile CPD murders of youth such as thirteen-year-old Adam Toledo and twenty-two-year-old Anthony Alvarez just in the last few years. [...]
They want a fake village where no one lives or thrives. They spend millions on a theme park to practice surveilling, policing, and controlling people. This vision can never be a home for anyone, and thus the Cop Academy should have no place in our city if we are to make Chicago, someday, a true home for its residents. [...]
--
We must refuse to allow such sadism to become normalized, and continue to make clear in the face of a city leadership which laughs, that, as Ruth Wilson Gilmore says, “where life is precious, life is precious.” [...]
Like the brave protesters facing off against the horrific violence of Atlanta’s proposed Cop City, organizers in Chicago have fought a valiant campaign against the cop academy since it was first proposed during the Emanuel administration. The No Cop Academy campaign, led by Black youth across the city, has led countless protests and actions and was endorsed by more than 100 organizations. [...]
Though the structures have been built, the fight against the cop academy (as well as similar projects in Atlanta and elsewhere) must continue: we must transform every fake cop neighborhood into real, affordable housing and vibrant neighborhoods where every person has what they need to thrive.

Donald Trump's Hate Has No Place in Black America. Let's Remind Him in November.
Tumblr media
We are seven months out from the most consequential election in our nation’s history, and Black voters know what’s up: A recent survey conducted by Black pollster Cornell Belcher’s firm asked 800 Black voters in battleground states to identify the single greatest threat to the Black community.
Their answer? A second Donald Trump presidency.
Tumblr media
We should not be surprised by this finding. Trump is prepared to enact – and in many cases, reenact – policies that will do great harm to the Black community and to communities of color. He is expected to authorize mass deportations, wage war on the federal civil service (of which Black employees comprise 18 percent), cut taxes for the rich at the expense of the middle class, fight to make healthcare more expensive and less accessible and support an abortion ban that will only worsen the maternal mortality crisis.
While we have focused a lot on what Trump would do during a second term with the stroke of his pen, we cannot forget about the damage he inflicted on our community as president without even lifting a finger. Over his four years in office, Trump normalized a culture of racism and xenophobia that trickled down from the highest levels of our government to everyday interactions in-person and online. The former president’s social media posts and speeches were laced with a mix of dog whistles and outright hate speech.
How could we ever forget his claim that the attendees of a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. were “very fine people?” Or when he ordered members of the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” after being asked to condemn the white nationalist militia group? Or when he suggested that four Democratic members of Congress – all women of color – should “go back…[to the] places from which they came” in a tweet that a Republican congressman even described as racist?
Coming from the mouth of the President of the United States, this kind of rhetoric signaled that hate did indeed have a place in his America and gave top cover to those who realized they no longer had to keep their racism under wraps.
Consequently, racial violence skyrocketed during Trump’s presidency. In fact, this trend started before he even took office. The Washington Post found that counties that hosted a Trump rally in 2016 experienced a 226 percent increase in hate crimes in the months that followed. From 2016 to 2017, hate crimes across the country increased by 17 percent. From 2018 to 2019, deadly hate crimes more than doubled. And in 2020, more hate crimes were reported than in any year since 2001. Perhaps unsurprisingly, alleged civil rights violations went under-investigated under Trump’s DOJ. During its first two years, the Trump DOJ opened 60 percent fewer civil rights cases than did the Obama DOJ and 50 percent fewer than the Bush DOJ.
For those who think that the extent of the harm inflicted by Trump’s racism can be fully captured in those statistics, think again. In a multitude of ways, the Black community continues to suffer from the flames of hatred that Trump fanned while he was president. For example, racism is exacerbating the Black mental health crisis: Black youth experienced a 144 percent increase in suicide rates from 2007 to 2020, with both institutional and interpersonal racism identified as strong risk factors driving this trend.
Tumblr media
While Trump was president for only a portion of that period, he was active in spreading racism – including promoting the Barack Obama birtherism lie – for almost the entirety of it.
Speaking of Obama, the election of our nation’s first Black president helps us understand why the election of Trump – which once seemed unthinkable – was actually an inevitable reaction to Black progress. Study after study has pointed to racial resentment as a significant driver of the support Trump received from his voters. His base wanted trickle-down racism, and trickle-down racism is what they got.
Fast forward to today, and like any other proverbial old dog, Trump is clearly stuck on his old tricks. On the campaign trail this time around, he has already evoked Hitler, saying that immigrants are “poisoning the blood” of our country, and suggesting that Black voters appreciate him because he is being “discriminated against” in the legal system. Naturally, Republicans have made him their nominee for the third time. But while he might speak for their party, we do not have to let him speak for our country. Not again.
Tumblr media
In 2016, Trump promised his supporters the ability to hate openly with impunity, and he most certainly delivered. Now, he’s ready to do it all over again. And while it might be tempting to give into fear and cynicism, we should take hope in recognizing that thanks to our community showing up for Joe Biden in 2020, we helped elect a president who is committed to aggressively prosecuting hate crimes, who has appointed judges with a respect for civil rights, and who recognizes that “hate never goes away, it only hides.”
Donald Trump has never hidden his hate. This fall, let’s show him once again that it has no place in our America.

The "Bruce Wayne should do more philanthropy if he actually wanted to help" would hold more water, not only if he didn't cannonically do that in certain runs, along with bypassing any company hiring procedures to give the criminals jobs, but if he weren't dealing with Gotham City.
It is a good argument, a better argument for why any justification Lex Luther gives for wanting to kill superman is Bulshit Actually, but still a good argument for any billionaire crime fighting hero.
Any of them not in Gotham. Gotham is so corrupt most of the money he puts towards funds, grants, or charity organizations are embezzled before reaching any of the people it is supposed to be helping. Gotham has such odd criminals that there isn't anywhere to put money to fund countermeasures. If Clayface breaks out again, what are the cops supposed to be armed with? The cops, of which most are corrupt and he expressly does not trust with his toys? In the words of one tumblr user the post of which I cannot find, "What socioeconomic pressures turn botanists into Actual Fucking Dryads?!?" Gotham is legitimately cursed to be terrible forever and there is at least six of those. It has both a cult of the city's upper class psychically and economically destroying the city and an immortal avatar of Darkside directing the city towards absolute corruption from just beyond the scenes. Even if the pipes were properly updated to take care of the lead problem, there is still a Lazarus pit leaking into the groundwater and a good percent of the city's smog is still joker gas and fear toxin.
A billionaire vigilante waking up and realizing they can solve all of their city's problems with philanthropy could be a compelling story, but that cannot be batman, because he is giving it his all against a problem that the narrative has hammered in is an impossible loosing battle he is doomed to fail at and has only as of Joker War managed to push him back to even his starting line.
I will forever blame the Nolan Batman movies for making Gotham look like a normal-ass boring city that tacitly and demonstrably Does Not Need Batman, and I will forever respect The Batman for making Gotham actually look like a trash-filled shithole with corruption piled six layers deep on every available surface

Copy-pasted from another poster, which I'm leaving anonymous (the reblogs for that post were turned off by the time I found it, and I copy-pasted the text instead of taking screenshots because I didn't want to type out the alt text):
"I have been noodling over posting this for several days but I think it's important for some people to hear.
At a March on Saturday, at a pro Palestine march, my group and I were targeted by by nazis. Not targeted for violence, but targeted for recruitment. They weren't wearing swastikas, they weren't spewing blatant antisemitic hate speech. They seemed like two normal dudes. They marched with us, talked about how awful everything in Palestine was, how we wished world leaders would grow a pair and hold Israel responsible for fucking war crimes, how existing in the world right now was hard. They were empathetic, they were kind, they seemed like genuine good dudes.
Until we passed a synagogue where people were handing our water to marchers. They had signs defending Palestine on their table. But the tone of the conversation changed. These two seemingly normal dudes started talking about how "performative" the gesture felt, that Jewish people should be doing more. That they needed to PROVE it. They started talking about "Zionist" propaganda in the US, about how it was deeply entrenched in capitalism. Things that, on the surface, seemed reasonable but it set off alarm bells in my head.
When I was a kid, I remember getting the speech of "don't repeat anything your uncle or cousin so and so says and don't argue with them. Try to avoid them but if you can't be polite." Because those uncles and cousins said a lot of hateful things about anyone who wasn't like them, but their favorite targets were black people and Jewish people. I would find out as an adult it was because many of those uncles and cousins were in the Klan. When I studied hate symbols for a class in college, I found my self looking at images I'd seen on arms and necks and hands my whole life, because I live in an area of the US where the KKK is still around. And standing in that crowd, listening to these guys talk, i had the most horrible realization I've had in a long time.
We were being fished by Nazis. We were a group of able body, white American leftists. At a march in support of stopping the murder and genocide of Palestinians, these motherfuckers were out here, trying to find people they could get to hate Jewish folks. I wasn't the only one in my group who clocked it, and when we called them on it, the masks came off. They called us a bunch of "Jew loving bitches" before they moved on.
But we're marched with these guys for a couple hours, talked with them, laughed with them, brought them into our circle. For a moment we forgot we also weren't immune to propaganda, we weren't immune to people who make hate sound reasonable and that people like that never start out saying the quiet part out loud, they lean on your anger and your sense of helplessness to move you where they want you. If the last eight years has taught us anything, it's that fascists know how to adjust to the times, to work with what they got, to recruit. They know how to radicalize people, how to weaponize anger and helplessness. And I'm sitting here, every day, seeing posts that sound exactly like these guys did and it worries me.
I know I'm talking to the No Reading Comprehension Website, but I'm begging you guys to develop some now.
You are not immune to propaganda. We are all angry, as we fucking should be. We are watching an entire culture, thousands of lives, whole bloodlines, being wiped out in real time, and for many of us our nations are at best, wringing their hands, and at worst, shipping them weapons, all to protect capitalist greed. It's monstrous, it's disgusting. But look, REALLY LOOK, at the things you are tweeting, sharing, look at the language and how it's used. Take the time to educate yourself about how hate groups use social justice causes and civil unrest to recruit, research the posts your spreading, check your sources. If you are out protesting, be situationally aware, and do not be afraid to clock and call out Nazis. Listen to Jewish people, listen to their concerns, educate yourself on what Zionism and antisemitism actually are and how they can be weaponized. It doesn't feel as good as rage, it doesn't feel as good as having a group you can functionally rail against in a way we can't against a nation a world away, but it's a skill that's going to help you and a lot of other people in the long run."
Another poster in another reblog added:
"A lot of right-wing commentators on Twitter have pivoted to pro-Palestinian talking points and/or lies that sound good because they have a pro-Palestinian veneer. Don’t boost them. They are not your allies."

Rant Incoming!
I actually did like the storyline, but I think the idea that the Anti-Parahumans needed "valid arguments" is dangerous because it overlooks how bigoted they really are.
Like, this isn't "Anti-supervillains"; that's literally how most normal people and superheroes feel. This is Anti-Parahuman, as in "we want these people gone from existence or subservient to us" and, uh, noooo thank you.
Just as an example: Lets say you or a loved one gained superpowers after a traumatic incident. You are no longer allowed to run for any government position, you are actively feared and distrusted for powers you may or may not have, you cannot profit with your powers unless you submit to intense government oversight. Furthermore, that profit often requires that you have to engage in violent fights against other parahumans for the cameras, and if you don't protect your hometown from a killer kaiju (instead of, say, spending it with your loved ones) then you are seen with scorn and suspicion. And the moment the greatest hero turns evil, everyone looks at you like a ticking time bomb ready to go off.
A few of them, even, think you should be wiped off the face of the Earth or made second class citizens.
That's the parahuman experience.
For context:
Anti-parahumanism existed pre-GM. It was, in fact, established in the legal system. Parahumans were subservient to human Directors (many of whom openly were bigoted to them like Tagg and Piggot), they couldn't unionize for businesses, and - in the cases of Canary and Lustrum - overcharged in crimes. Reminder, Canary was so heavily demonized in court that the Prosecutor made up abilities she could have and she couldn't even defend herself. Her lawyer took days to respond to email, the Judge basically said he was ignoring all precedent to make her an example to other Parahumans because he didn't want Canary to ever be paroled. According to Lustrum, she was charged for a movement she had no control over, and Nailbiter believed her when she said it, because she could tell this woman wasn't built for violence.
Later, in PHO Sundays (which take place before Ward, during the 2 year timeskip with Weaver), we learn that the death of Protectorate cape was heavily downplayed by the PRT in favor of promoting new capes on the scene and that the killed cape had been trying for a long time to remove a drunk and disorderly teammate from her roster... only to be ignored by the PRT.
The Anti-parahuman movement in Ward is not something that just happened. It was always there.
Furthermore, most of humanity is actually under human control anyways, statistically, because of Cheit and Shin. Settlements under parahuman control are, statistically, the minority. There simply aren't enough parahumans for it to be viable.
And Cheit was only compromised by parahumans because they literally chose to trust someone who has a history of backstabbing and assassinating heads of state. Ditto with Shin trusting Amy and Chris, the former which was going to ally with Goddess to conquer Shin willingly.
Furthermore, Anti-Parahumans the mistake of painting a sweeping picture of Villain Control = Parahuman Control, which is just unfair. It's like comparing all past German Emperors with Hitler because both held the majority of the power. The Warden's aren't perfect by any means necessary, and neither is Citrine, but they do support society and protect the masses as best they can (including protecting Bet refugees) and refuse to wage war on people who actively want to wage war on them.
Even worse, Citrine is even stated by foreign governments to be the reason the City will do so well, because she's competent and has a council of civilian/non-parahuman leaders that she communicates with (of which Gary was part of), unless Gary tries to sabotage her (which he does).
Gary, for his part, is literally trying to sell Gimel out to a world conquering Cheit and doesn't even get a slap on the wrist for his crimes (that we know of). Note, his actions helped terrorists murder people. This coming from the guy who left his position of councilman over the City in Gimel out of spite because Jeanne Wynn was a parahuman and because he was tired of hearing about "bad news", who then goes on to complain about how he's not being told anything!
I really cannot stress this enough, that people like Gary cannot be allowed to think they have "valid points", because Gary and his ilk supported domestic terrorism that killed innocent Capes and was supporting supervillains like Love Lost by providing them weapons, and actively allied with Teacher.
Gary went on Television twice to attack a kid being abused by her parents (including lead poisoning) and the hero team who have literally been the sole reason that Gimel wasn't torn to pieces by dozens of portal bombs. He, to their face, called them the worst of the worst.
And yes, I totally understand why some people might initially think Anti-Parahumans have a point. Yes, it's understandable for blame to grow (as Vic says, blame can ruin nations), but I again behoove everyone to remember that humans are not the only victims of GM, as Parahumans were the ones who were facing down Scion constantly and consistently (and Endbringers before that).
And that an often-overlooked fact is simply that Parahumans are the only reason that Gimel exists and isn't a slave state to the religious conquest of Cheit or bigotry of Shin, and are the biggest factors in keeping refugees safe from Bet to Gimel.
They are, quite frankly, the only thing keeping civilization chugging along in the face of a multiversal catastrophe, where they themselves were betrayed by their own representation of the greatest hero of all.
And for 99% of them, it's not a choice. Society, pre-GM, made it very clear that parahumans are seen as less than humans, their only worth beyond merchandizing is to serve as (non)human shields for "real people". Which absolutely sucks when you want to use your powers for something other than fighting, but the government doesn't let you start up competing businesses and that not immediately joining the government as their lapdog makes you less trustworthy.
The anti-parahumans are absolutely believable in formation, but that doesn't negate the fact that it's based on intolerance, ignorance, and that parahumans themselves have been mistreated for far longer.
So no, I don't think they have valid points and I don't want them to.

452-467
That's actually two nights worth of episodes I was just busy.
Phantom of Konpira is well phantom of the opera so fairly straightforward. I do like that someone on the anime original writing team got attached to this little theatre troupe they made they and I'm sad that the wiki says that's there last appearance so far. Bring them back again.
Preview screening is a fun case cause it goes a little against the normal structure with the prevention of the crime instead and I like that and the hopeful ending. If I must nitpick tho, the guy didn't need to be in love with the victim as well, he can be sad his friend died without needing to be in love with her good grief. (Also my friend lost it at the star wars parody cause he had no idea it was coming) also hi widescreen!
The overturned conclusion is a fun detective boys case and I think it's the start of 'genta panicks thinking he accidentally killed someone' which will proceed to happen multiple times poor boy. I have no idea how the culprit planned on getting away with this long term tho. He's not good at thinking things through.
The mystery I loved could have been as simple as maybe ask the old lady first you idiot. If she's that good of a mystery writer to impress Shinichi and she was down for it this plan could have gone way better.
Sonoko's red handkerchief is a case I adore because a) Sonoko and b) Ran and Makoto sending a gang's worth of old men flying as a conclusion. I kinda wish the fight had been longer to be honest.
A mysterious man is one of those weird little cases where everyone is a bit fucked up and the plan seems not very well thought through...
Ova 7 (I think) is very cute and I like recognising the method to solving codes and ciphers even if I can't read them so that was neat. Also I relate hard to Agasa's poor eyesight here. I would be useless at providing information in my whereabouts without my glasses.
Class 1B's great operation is adorable though! So so good! Again with fun codes with recognisable methods even if you don't know Japanese and Haibara gets a spotlight in mystery solving and leading the kids and it was very cute.
The missing page is also cute. Simple but has a cute little message. Genta's book report is a mood even tho I'm a bookworm myself.
The shadow of the black organization is... well the cases are fine but the link to the overarching plot feels... a little eh I guess? Eisuke is one of the characters I want to like and yet find myself struggling to :( also the victim from the second half sure was a terrible person. Divorce was probably still the better option tho guy.
(my friend has a collection of bizarre half formed theories here that are okay but mostly a little off cause they are of the opinion that Eisuke and Rena don't actually look that alike somehow XD)
The unsmashable snowman is a nice case cause I think the trick is neat and the detective boys are particularly cute. Damn the victim/culprit and suspects are all kinda like what on earth is with you people though.
Phew that was a lot of EPs. I should get my thoughts out on the daily instead of doing this again. Looking forward to tomorrow tho! My boy KID is there! The next film! Of which all I know is it's pirate themed. Babby Shinichi and Ran! Teasing my friend who lives Eri and despairs over Eri/Kogoro! And maybe even reaching Genta killing a man. Maybe. Depends how much time we have. But theres a lot to look forward to.

🇦🇲 Don't let the Armenian genocide repeat itself
Tumblr media
I wrote this text to prevent anyone from forgetting history. In 1915-1916 during the Armenian Genocide 600,000 to 1.5 million Armenians were exterminated. Millions of Armenians were murdered by the Turks in this horrific crime. And look at what Azeibarjan is doing right now with the support of Turkey on the border of Armenia. Azeibarjan has attacked Armenia and is waging war on Armenian territory. They are seizing villages and killing people.
On September 13-14, 2022, 135 Armenians were killed and 7 civilians were injured. 192 houses were damaged, of which 60 were totally destroyed. Civilian cars, agricultural machinery and ambulances have been damaged.
Right now I am in Armenia and I see what is going on around me. And I ask the world and every individual - please do not let this happen again. Don't forgive Turkey's crimes and don't let another Armenian Genocide occur. Tell the world what is happening right now, as I am telling you. Armenians should live in peace. It's a strong, warm, generous people with an amazing culture and history.
Below is what the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923 is all about.
Tumblr media
The rise of nationalism against Armenians
Armenia is an ancient country which appeared in the IV-II centuries BC and is known for its centuries-old culture and traditions. Armenia was always surrounded by powerful nations, like Rome and Parthia, but their identity remained strong and distinct.
Between 1915-1923, Turkish forces perpetrated horrendous terror against the Armenian nation. As a result of this horrific act, between 600 000 - 1,5 million Armenians died. In worldwide history this massive murder became known as the Armenian Genocide.
Although the majority of victims died in and after the year 1915, the Genocide started in 1896-1896. In those days, Armenians were considered second-class citizens, paid high taxes, and had no normal protections.
In 1894 the Armenians in the Sasun region refused to pay an oppressive tax, and Ottoman troops and Kurdish tribesmen killed between 100 000 - 300 000 of them and burned their villages. In 1895, the Ottoman authorities crushed Armenian protests in Istanbul, leading to a mass massacre. These series of atrocities became known as the Hamidian Massacres.
As a result of the revolution in Turkey in 1908 the new leaders restored the old government, and given the growing nationalism, the violence against Armenians increased. Throughout the Balkan war, society became more anti-christian and Armenians again receiving the majority of the blame. Turkey strengthened ties with Germany during the First World War and blamed the Armenians for fighting against it. Their main argument was that Armenians should fight for the country of their citizenship.
Tumblr media
'Deportations’
Shortly, Turkey started to mobilise Armenians into the Turkish army, and at the same time destroy Armenians’ place in society. Turkey's government fuelled hatred and aggression toward Armenians and blamed them for all Turkey's failures, including the crash in war.
Soon, the Turkey department began to organise so-called ‘deportations’ for Armenians. Turkey's government fuelled the greed and revenge of Armenians while fuelling the greed of Turks. It promised that the murderers of Armenians would get a third of their property.
In the context of the Armenian Genocide, so-called ‘deportations’ had nothing in common with what Turkey has organised. Deportation is the process of moving a human from one place to another, but Turks did nothing like that, but something much more horrific.
Tumblr media
Death marches
The majority of the ‘deported’ were women and children, and the main goal of Turks was not to relocate Armenians, but to kill as many as they can. Turks constantly moved Armenians from one place to another, without food and water, until people died or couldn’t move anymore. They should moved until they can, otherwise they’d be shot. If someone tried to help others, he was also shot immediately.
The Armenian camps were liquidated, even if they were settled, since the Turks wanted the Armenians to go further. They were death marches, which were never ended. People died all the time from starvation, exhaustion and diseases, especially from dysentery, typhus and pneumonia.
Armenian women, who survived these terrifying massive murders, suffered horrifically from mass rapes or were sold as sex slaves at arab markets. Orphans suffered from starvation, made hard labor without pay, were converted to Islam and were subjected to physical and sexual abuse. An orphanage in Alexandropol held 25 000 orphans, and it’s the largest number in the world.
Tumblr media
Turks do not recognise genocide
The word ‘genocide’ was first used by Raphael Lemkin in 1944 as evidence of the holocaust and mass murders of Armenians. Genocide is a controllable and planned killing of an enormous amount of people from a particular nation, and the intention of the murderers is to destroy this nation group. That’s exactly what Turks did with Armenians, and these murders had never been made on such a scale.
Turkish government has always denied the Armenian Genocide and instead argues that all Armenians were killed during World War I. But the majority of Armenians were murdered on the death marches and far from the front lines. Also, Turkey insisted that the numbers of Armenians who died were exaggerated. Even the memorial in Turkish, which is devoted to Genocide, is a memorial not to Armenian, but to Turkish Genocide. The Genocide scattered Armenians across the world and now less than a third of Armenians live in Armenia now.

You know, Arcticdementor Anon Fan, you might like the twitter user tyrantsmuse, who rather fittingly used an avatar of Kazundo Gohda for a while.
I can't tell if he's a genius, if he's crazy, or if he's blowing smoke.
As one twitter user wrote,
Psychosecurity? Sounds like something that Tyrants muse guy would post, that I'd read, and wouldnt understand if he was serious or not. But fitting given his Avi and how ghost in the shell "psychosecurity" sounds.
(Parenthetically, I agree with Brian Chau that Effective Altruism should avoid politics because they have poor psychosecurity.)
This might seem strange for me to say since I'll show off a lot of arrogance or perceived confidence as part of my work, but actually I don't consider myself to be in the top tier of intelligence and I consider most of my work to be explaining obvious things - usually just distilling some common intuition or norm into a more concrete description.
I'm not in the game because I think I'm the best possible person for the job, but rather the responsibility fell to me because I was the person that was available that at least met the floor of the required capabilities.
You should assume that a number of posters in this circle have a higher IQ than I do and probably find it easier to do advanced mathematics. I'm here in part because, as you probably know from the Boldmug saga, Scott Aaronson was so psyopped by feminism that he "begged a psychiatrist to prescribe drugs that would chemically castrate [him]" - or rather, the general class of problem related to this.
Moldbug's reference to Aaronson's 160 IQ is probably literal, but we might say that Aaronson has poor psychosecurity.
Some people in that upper range, and some people in the 105-115 range, need to have basic things explained to them, but they know that they're (much) smarter than the median person offering an explanation for the "normal" view or course of action, and the arguments they're offered don't fit.
So I take something has a good reason behind it (such as not forming a single world government, something high-IQ types think about because they think it will prevent all the wars), but for which the typical advocate is not all that great, and distill an argument that's more legible to that kind of guy.
Like, the default position is "crime is bad." Political actors will then develop sophisticated theories about how "actually, being against crime is bad," and then say "and anyone who says otherwise is a low-status redneck." And then I'll come through and explain how actually, anti-anti-crime is bad.
Cycle of life and all that.

I just transferred my lease over to the new tenants, two sisters from Turkey, who I thought were quite charming at first, but after spending 15 minutes talking to them, it turns out they’re raging racists. I wish I recorded that conversation. They kept dropping these incendiary, racist remarks about the neighborhood being overrun by Mexicans/Indian/South Americans who are having babies, and being a burden on the system. They were so casual about it but I could tell it was important to them I agreed, but I gently pushed back, talking instead about my work teaching English to immigrants and how they’re a value to society, and how my students are from Mexico, Columbia, Africa, and TURKEY
It gives me the sense that for some victims of racism, subscribing to the idea of a strict social hierarchy within which they’re above others is comforting. That was the vibe I got from these two sisters, who themselves are immigrants and disadvantaged.
But I’m just sort of describing the nature of all hatred and elitism. From my experience teaching kids, it’s always the ones who are the most comfortable in their own skin, who are the least exclusive when it comes to with whom they socialize. So this got me thinking that the motivation to demonize people is always present in most people. It’s just the groups we demonize who change depending on what's socially acceptable.
It’s a thing I see happening. As the public becomes more woke to the fact that the poor are poor due to capitalist economic forces outside of their control, it becomes unacceptable to demonize them. But the old way of thinking that it’s okay to call the poor scum doesn’t just dissolve. That motivation to demonize a group to maintain the stratification of classes for the purposes of establishing one’s own status still exists. And so hatred just moves on to the next group that’s still socially acceptable to demonize. So overweight people were like the last group of people it was okay to dehumanize until the body positivity movement brought awareness that doing so is on par with racism, and so now it’s all about calling lonely men creepy incels. Soon, I predict, people will stop calling depressed men inherently awful when people begin to recognize the mental health crisis happening among them. At this point, the shift will move from men to the rich, which is where it should stay because the rich are in fact scum who are a burden to society :)
I mean this line of reasoning makes me think that being rich is really just about knowing that there are people below you. Is that what it's all about? And if so, is the drive to be rich stronger in societies where the poor are worse off? In America, for example, being poor means being at risk of dying due to lack of access to healthcare, and being forced to live in violent, run-ridden neighborhoods. So the pursuit of wealth is about distancing yourself from the reality of the poor. As evidence that this is true, look at the average middle-class American who has all his/her basic needs met. Now compare that person to an ultrarich and powerful Roman Emperor from 2000 years ago. The middle-class American's quality of life is actually far beyond that of the wealthiest emperor. He/she has access to modern medical science, air conditioning, mental health therapy, all the food they want, etc. So if the pursuit of wealth were just about accumulating things that make life good, Roman emperors wouldn't be driven to wage war to maintain what is essentially, by our standards, just a normal existence.
But I guess, since our status in life determines who we get to sleep with, we are driven by our biological imperative to believe in a social hierarchy of humans, and our need to have people below us. But what happens when someone achieves complete acceptance of all people, seeing everyone who does poorly in life or commits terrible crimes, as just being a victim of not having their needs met as children? What motivates that truly empathetic person, who lives in a world where everyone's humanity is seen as just as real, worthy, and valued as their own?
Since the breakup, I've been the most sensitive I've ever been. Everything makes me sad. And I can't see people get hurt, on TV or on the street. People, through my new frame of reference, are victims. I want everyone to be okay. And maybe this feeling, that all people have value, is making me less motivated by money and status to succeed. At this point, I just want to make enough money to buy a new camera. I also don't want to die alone and so that's really just the thing that is driving me to get a good well-paying teaching position. Not much else.

a lil guide to the Fire Nation for the ATLA fic writers out there
(aka. a no means exhaustive primer on east asia by an asian person)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a guide for fic writers want to write a canon-era story set in the Fire Nation, or featuring Fire Nation characters. A quick little primer on the tiny details of everyday life that you might not think about, but certainly stuff that would make me, an asian person, wince if I were to encounter it. BRUSHES, not quills. CHOPSTICKS, not forks.
(note #1: this was partly inspired by a chat with @elilim)
(note: #2:  I originally intended it for zukka fic writers before realizing that other writers might find it useful. so apologies for a slight Zuko-bias for that reason)
(note #3: this is all stuff i was thinking about when writing firebender’s guide, in case anyone was wondering)
1. CLOTHING
Okay, I think the most straightforward way to describe what everyone’s wearing most of the time is “tunic”. They’re all just...tunics of different colours and varieties. Later when Zuko’s the Fire Lord he wears robes. The show provides a better visual guide than I could, here are a few notes to keep in mind:
a) Japanese people wear their collars LEFT crossed over RIGHT
I don’t think this would come up in writing as much as it would in art, but it’s considered bad luck to do it the wrong way because that’s only for dead people. Let my boy Zuko demonstrate:
Tumblr media
b) There are no buttons
This is picky, but Wikipedia says “Functional buttons with buttonholes for fastening or closing clothes appeared first in Germany in the 13th century.[6] They soon became widespread with the rise of snug-fitting garments in 13th- and 14th-century Europe.” I kinda believe it. If you look closely, characters’ clothes are always tied together or wrapped in some way with a belt. If there are fasteners, they’re braided frog closures that go into a little loop, like the qipao-style dresses women wear in Ba Sing Se, or Zuko’s casual prince’s clothes in the topmost image. Anyways, I don’t think Zuko or Azula or the Gaang would technically button or unbutton anything when they’re changing clothes. Clothing is designed to be tied, not buttoned.
[so much more under cut]
c) This isn’t a real rule, but there’s something called koromogae, or the seasonal changing of clothing in Japan.
This is something I learned when I was writing firebender’s guide, and I just liked the fun detail about there being a strict calendar for when to wear something. I liked the idea of someone like Zuko, who actually spent most of his formative years outside of the Fire Nation, coming home and just suffering mutely through the summer heat because upper class etiquette says no changing into cooler clothes until August 15.
From My Asakusa:
Tumblr media
And this website:
Generally, people change from thick, heavy, dark-coloured clothes for winter to thin, lighter, bright-coloured clothes for spring and summer. In traditional Japanese culture, particularly in formal settings such as tea ceremony, it is important to acknowledge the changes of seasons—in such circumstances, not only the patterns and colours of the kimono that are worn but also the utensils and furniture that are used are required to change. By changing their clothing, people notice and appreciate the change of seasons. [Japan Foundation]
Here are some visual guides from the official creators for clothes: (notice how it’s pretty much always left over right)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2.FOOD AND EATING
a) Traditional cuisine
It seems like the most common foods in canon are Fire Flakes and meat, to the point where poor Aang had to eat lettuce out of the garbage at some point.
HOWEVER, the Fire Nation seems to basically a big subtropical archipelago, so I would guess that seafood and rice are common. If you want to write about characters eating, a. quick google for “traditional japanese cuisine” would help you come up with a menu really quickly.
Tumblr media
Wikipedia says:
The traditional cuisine of Japan, washoku (和食), lit. "Japanese eating" (or kappō (ja:割烹)), is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes; there is an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. Side dishes often consist of fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth. Seafood is common, often grilled, but also served raw as sashimi or in sushi.
But before we get too serious, at one point the Gaang eats a “smoked sea slug” (Sokka’s Master)
Oh ATLA, never stop being you.
Tumblr media
b) Utensils
One thing to keep in mind is chopstick etiquette. Someone like Zuko or Toph, for instance, would have completely internalized all of these.
Tumblr media
Another thing is that there are no glasses. Cups and bowls are made of ceramic or clay. Let the Gaang show you:
And another note: characters won’t eat “bread” in the European sense, ie. a baked lump of dough. Steamed buns, yes. Fried pancakes made from batter, yes. Flatbreads, okay I’ll give it a pass. Rice or noodles should be the most common carbs of choice.
3.ETIQUETTE
“In the homeland, we bow to our elders” - angry schoolmistress in The Headband.
Tumblr media
Japan Guide has a list of etiquette rules for visiting Japan, which is interesting but not too necessary to read. In general, based on what The Headband tells us, Fire Nation characters would have been raised with a strong nationalist curriculum that values communal contribution over individualist expression. Even someone like Zuko, who openly rebels against that, probably couldn’t help but be affected by it. In general the Fire Nation seems to have an East Asian-ish set of values. It’s patriarchal, all the positions of authority are filled by men; there seems to be a strong emphasis on patriotism; there’s a sense of diffidence and respect towards one’s elders; and finally, there’s an emphasis on “knowing” one’s place in society and fitting into what’s expected of oneself.
I don’t really know how to describe it, but in China and Japan I sometimes feel like there’s rules for everything, and even people born and raised there acknowledge it could be stifling at times. You could go down a rabbit hole researching points of etiquette (for instance, rules on who has to sit where in group dinners...), but to me the most important thing is acknowledging that Fire Nation has a rigid system of etiquette, and also, they’re an imperialist power who’s pretty prejudiced against foreigners. Poor Aang/Kuzon gets called “mannerless colony slob” just for being slow on the bowing action (!!!)
(in firebender’s guide I had a lot of fun imagining the stupid microaggressions Ambassador Sokka has to face in the Fire Nation, so obviously I’m just biased)
4.WRITING AND DESKS
Characters would probably write on paper, with a calligraphy brush. Not quills or pens -- a brush. Technically, old Japanese and Chinese texts should be written top to bottom, right to left, but the show itself doesn’t do this, so I think you’re fine.
One fun thing about traditional calligraphy is that you don’t use bottled ink. You have something called an ink stone, and then you grind your ink yourself by rubbing the ink stone in a special little dish with a bit of water. In my (very few) encounters with this stuff in the calligraphy lessons of my youth, the ink stones can be plain or have beautiful designs on the side. It looks something like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ATLA is an East Asian-ish universe, so characters are likely to be kneeling at a table, not sitting. To demonstrate, here’s my boy Sokka doing his famous rainbow at Piandao’s:
Tumblr media
and here’s the war chamber meeting when Zuko speaks out against a general’s plans to sacrifice some soldiers:
Tumblr media
THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS: This is Zuko’s cute little setup when he’s writing his goodbye letter to Mai. In this case he’s writing in a chair and table. It’s possible that some furniture items, like a sitting desk and a bed in a bedframe (not a bedroll or futon) are special royal palace features. Normally in a private setting we see characters sitting on the ground or on a slightly elevated platform with a low table. Maybe Caldera is just different? Or rich people are just different: the Bei Fongs also have a sit-down dining table + chair setup.
Tumblr media
(That little rectangular box is his ink dish!!)

5.A NOTE ON GENERAL CULTURE
It’s worth talking about a few general points of East Asian culture. I can’t claim to speak for ALL of Asia, and I don’t think I should. But I do think ATLA fic writers who want to set something in the Fire Nation should take a few moments to at least skim the wiki pages for filial piety and Nihonjinron (literally, "theories/discussions about the Japanese"). There’s a certain...vibe to...asianness... that I’m not sure I can explain without like, a doctorate degree in sociology.
It’s a bit like gender, I guess. There’s no definitive checklist to what is a woman and what is a man, and we can argue that gender is performative, that it’s a construct, but at the end of the day gender is still (tragically) real in the sense that it still shapes people and affects how we walk and talk and dress and think. Nationality is the same. Obviously, the Fire Nation is a made up place in a made up show, but out of respect to the cultures that inspired it, I do think it’s worth familiarizing yourself with some of these cultures’ codes and values.
Also, ahem, if I can direct you to war crimes in the Japan’s colonial empire. Again, worth remembering that the Fire Nation was an imperalist colonizer too.
I might do a continuation of this post and talk through my more abstract takes about Fire Nation culture - Is Zuko an example of filial piety gone right or filial piety gone wrong? Why I think Zuko’s flashbacks are like, at least part teenage melodrama bullshit (the reason is son preference), how someone like Sokka might be treated once he’s openly Water Tribe in the Fire Nation (probably with racism...), specific aspects of asian homophobia and racism, etc. We’ll see.
This is not a definitive guide. Comments and critique welcome.
If you think there’s a factual mistake, PLEASE hop in my asks and let me know. I also think there’s a huge blind spot in ATLA for South and Southeast Asian representation, so I acknowledge that I can’t speak for all Asians, and there is no such thing as a “pan-asian” identity.
If there’s something else you’re curious about, I’m not a historian or anything, but I like research. Ask me and I’ll try to answer the best I can.
And oh, one last thing, this is how I do research when I wrote firebender’s guide, in case anyone’s interested in learning more (LINK)

Graveyard Siblings (4)
I am sorry for not posting in a while. School is a total bitch. Here is part 4 of a fic that is not a fic.
[Masterlist]
(Part 1)(Part 2)(Part 3)
-------
Tall Marinette.(I admit I might be projecting a little here.)
One day, she took out something from someplace high and the whole family realized that ‘holy shit when did you get so tall?’
Bonus if Jason comes back from a long mission and had a wtf moment because she was wearing 6-inch-heels and met his eyes with them on.
“Pixie?!”
------
You know how Bruce has the identity of Matches Malone to infiltrate the Gotham Underground.
While Jason does the drug deals more street crime stuff, Maria uses an excuse of being the representative for Red Hood excuse to mingle with the rich people who does crime on the side (Penguin), she uses it to go to black market auctions and buy some of the lost miraculouses which got into the hands of black market dealers.
Jason knows about it and acts as her ‘bodyguard’ anytime he can or sends one of his henchmen to be one with a death threat if she gets a single scratch on her.
Bruce is unaware of this. Or is he?
------
Mari helps with running WE since she is a little less busy with the vigilante side of things.
It started with Tim panicking about deadlines and Mari offering to help, to Bruce and Tim bullying the board to have her as co-CEO.
She has to be that and head of Afterlife. So she is very busy. Doesn’t know about what comes next….
------
Somehow the class comes to Gotham for a trip. It has been 3 years since her death.
Mari has changed her appearance since the day she left Paris. She has highlights in her hair after a ‘sibling bonding day’ with Jason. Her hair is kept short for convenience and not in pigtails. Along with her tall height and more confident aura, she is almost unrecognizable.
She rides a motorcycle too.
The class waits in the lobby for the tour and in walks this badass woman with aviator sunglasses, leather jacket and designer clothes which was all MT brand, making a lot of people swoon.
She takes off her glasses and walks past the class. Checking stuff on her phone and sipping coffee in her other hand.
She seems familiar but they couldn’t figure out why. (All except Chloe, Alix and Felix who are snickering in the background.)
Lila sees her and comments on how she must be a criminal with the way she dresses. (Lila internally freaks out because were her eyes messing with her? Because she looked a little like Marinette. Also jealous of the new arrival for stealing all the attention.) Alya takes the bait and calls security to ‘arrest’ her.
They just laugh. The class doesn’t understand, speaking in confused French.
-------------
“I am Maria Todd-Wayne, also known as designer MT. CEO of Afterlife and co-CEO of the very company you are in. I am allowed in here. Don’t judge a book by its cover.” she said in perfect French.
“But Lila told us you can’t speak French.”
“Who?”
“Lila Rossi, your friend. She told us that you and MT were dating.”
“Me dating myself. Okay I love myself because self-love is a thing but that is a whole other level. MT are my initials. Anyone who has a brain could have figured that out or at the very least do a Google search. I am not sure where your friend got that notion.”
“Hey, Bean, come on. We have a long day ahead of us.” Tim reminded her.
“Goodbye but cease the rumours or you would be escorted off the premises.”
As they rode up the elevator, “Tim, why are they here?”
“They are the lucky winners of the Wayne Enterprise Young Prodigies Contest. Why, Maria?”
“Lucky, huh.” She muttered under her breath. She might as well tell him. They are the Bats and they will find out anyway. “They are from my old class, the one you know…”
“Oh. Want me to send them back? I can do that if they are making you uncomfortable.”
“Nah. Too much to deal with. And it is unfair to send them back over a petty grudge. Besides, I could have some fun.”
“Anything that Bruce and I should be worried about?”
“I swear no killing. Just because Jason came back from the dead, hell-bent on killing. Doesn’t mean I am too.”
“Cool, just don’t do any property damage or traumatize our employees.”
“I might need you to erase some footage later and tell Bruce about this.”
“Some brownies, my favourite coffee cake, the ‘special’ brew and you have yourself a deal.”
-----
So basically she just showed up around where the class was ‘by coincidence’.
Talk to a few people and take them out of earshot of the rest of the class.
End the conversation by saying a few things only they and her would know. Insides jokes and secrets. (I pick her old childhood friends like, Nino, Kim and maybe Sabrina)
Uses Trixx to turn into a walking dead version of her 15-year old self and disappears as they freak out about how she knew that secret/story.
Freaks them out further by appearing again in front of the whole class and pretending not to know their previous conversation.
Mari manages to get Lila alone.
I should also say that Lila thought that her curse was making her see MT as Marinette.
It terrifies Lila when she finds out that MT is actually Marinette, not dead but alive after all this time and apparently living the high life she wanted. This fact made the Italian swell up with jealousy.
“I hope you are not lying about me again, Lila Rossi. Like you always do.”
“What do you want with me? I swear I didn’t say anything else about you.”
“Aw, Lila. Don’t recognize me?”
Maria flickers and Ladybug is in her place and later, the Marinette that appeared in her bedroom and back to normal.
“You! How? Why are you here? Why can’t you leave me alone?”
“Why not? I mean you did take away nearly all my friends, my parents and made my life a living hell. If you think about it, I am just repaying you the same favor. How are the others? Treating you well?”
“What did you do to me, you bitch?”
“I just put a curse on you. The ghosts of your past will haunt you until you stop.”
“Stop what?”
“Stop Lying, Liar. They all feed and grow in power from your lies. I wonder what would happen in a few years if you kept this up.”
“You think you can get away with this. This is war and I have already beaten you once.”
“Oh Rossi. This isn’t a war. It’s a death sentence.” With that she disappears.
Lila tries to tell her class that MT is actually Marinette. She is met with crazy looks. Some of them look like they want to believe her but don't because they don’t want to look crazy too.
Oh. Adrien wasn’t on the trip because his mother didn’t want him to go to the crime capital of America although the crime rate has gone down a little due to Hellbat curing some of the city’s bad energy..
Right after Lila told the class about MT, Scarecrow came to steal some Wayne tech and the class got caught in the crossfire. So later, it was brushed off as Lila seeing things due to the fear toxins.
-----
Joker made the mistake of kidnapping her. Once was enough to never try that again.
(It involved the use of nearly all of the Miraculouses, old and new. He was thoroughly humiliated at the end of it and his picture by the time Hellbat was done with him was on the Batfam’s Christmas Card. Like I said she doesn’t kill but making them beg for death was okay.)
It coincided with Jason’s Birthday and the video of the incident was ‘the best birthday present ever.’ The uncensored version was watched at the next undead siblings bonding day. Damian included.
After hearing a few rumours about what happened, most criminals were glad for Hellbat’s rare appearances. (which happens once a month and during really busy time of the year)
There was a time where Penguin was carrying out one of their plans and when Hellbat showed up, all of their thugs surrendered instantly. (No Batman did not pout at the fact that this French girl was more imitating than him.)
Scarecrow used his newest batch of fear toxin on her during the first year after she died.
He was astounded to see her still standing and she later proceeded to beat the crap out of him while being under the toxin’s influences.
He has tried to stay out of her way since then.
She saw Scarecrow as Hawkmoth and said a lot of things in French which scared everyone because she said it with so much hate, anger and in a very menacing tone that everyone is like ‘I am not touching this.’
It took Red Hood and Nightwing to restrain her from further beating Scarecrow up.
He was one of the people who sympathised with the Joker after the Incident.
The next was Riddler being so arrogant in his plans and managed to get Hellbat and Spoiler into a death trap.
“You know I have a few regrets in life. And my final one is that I got captured and am now going to get killed by a walking fashion disaster.”
“Hey! I made this myself. I will have, you know.”
“You have a brilliant mind but no sense of fashion at all. When I get out of here, I am going to burn that thing with you in it, for your crimes against fashion.”
“What is wrong with it?”
Cue a lot of roasting of Riddler’s costume and Spoiler adding more fuel to the fire.
They manage to escape while Riddler is crying on the floor, having an existential crisis.
The thing was no one knows why Riddler was silent the entire week after encountering Hellbat and crying when anyone mentions it.
They now think Hellbat is the scariest one in the Batfamily, second to Batman and tied with Black Bat/Orphan.
The few who find out what really happened in the warehouse that night. Blackmail material on the Riddler.
Three ( four if you count Penguin) of Gotham’s biggest villains of the Rogues Gallery scared of Bats’ newest addition. Hellbat was not someone they wanted to mess with.
---------
Magic crisis stuff. Like a world ending event thing. Dr. Fate says they need the Miraculous jewels but the last mention of them had been in Paris a few years ago and had vanished since then.
Costantine looked at Batman. “You know who you have to call.”
Batman calls Hellbat. Who hasn’t been introduced yet to the JL.
“Ah. Bats. Not that I question your authority or anything but how can your newest ‘ward’ help us?”
She takes off her helmet and reveals her face and more importantly, her earrings.
Tikki comes out of her hiding place.
“I am the current Guardian of the Miracle Box and wielder of the Ladybug miraculous during Hawkmoth’s reign in Paris a few years ago. Any other Questions?”
“Oh great Guardian. Tikki. It is an honour to meet you.”-Wonder Woman, who else.
“You too, Princess Diana. Pass on my regards to your mother.”-Tikki
A huge face-off and the big evil is defeated.
WW asks abt HM and gives a horrified face at the end of her story. Nearly everyone who eavesdropped on the conversation was.
"Forgive me, Guardian for not aiding you in your hour of need.”
“It’s okay. I understand that there are other crises, world-ending ones that JL have to take care of. I am better now. Mostly.”
“I doubt it with those revenge schemes I found lying around. But she is getting there with her therapist.”-Batman
“I hate you, Dad.”
“Did you just call him Dad?”
“No….”
“Do you see me as a father figure?”
“I see you as a nuisance with how nosy you are with my personal business. So you are more of a bother figure.”
“I see you as part of the family too, Daughter.” (Got that reference anyone?)
“Jason was the one who adopted me.”
“Legally you are adopted by me.”
Maria with Pikachu surprised face because nobody told her that. “My life is a lie.”

THE COMING GYNARCHY — PART I.
GYNARCHIC WORLD PART I.
Tumblr media
BY THE FSU — THE INTERNATIONAL GYNARCHY MOVEMENT.
Introduction.
Most of society has lived under the failed patriarchy system, which exists in denial of the true superiority of the Female gender. The time has come for society to make the final shift and both acknowledge and embrace the truth that is Gynarchy and Female superiority. To truly make the world a better place, society doesn't need gender equality, only a total global Gynarchy can help. Gynarchy proclaims the natural and biological superiority of Woman over man, and to the benefit of the planet and to all people, male or Female, of the empowerment of Woman.
A Gynarchy is a society and government by and for Female interests, including any establishment of laws and bureaucracies that benefit Women. A Gynarchy is synonymous with what is also commonly referred to as “Feminist governance," a "Femocracy," or a "Petticoat government." Under a Gynarchy, Women are the superior gender with men being second-class subservient citizens. Under a Gynarchy, individual households would be run in a Matriarchy fashion where the Wife is not subject to, but superior to Her husband. The aim of Gynarchy is to reorganize society and government in such a way as to empower Women, prioritize the interests of Women, and to enable every male to develop and use all his capabilities and powers in subjugation to the Female will. This will be achieved by means of the permanent transfer of private property in the form of land and inheritance to exclusively Female hands, and by the indenture of males to individual or collective Feminine groups, within a new Gynarchic society. Ultimately, the end result is that Female domination of the family, politics, business, school, and society in general will solve or improve the social problems that currently plague the world.
There will be many stages to the rise of the Gynarchy, including developments in politics, economics, society, and culture. Many of these changes will occur naturally, but as Women and men become more aware of the benefits, and become more Gynarchy minded, these changes will come faster as society actively moves itself in the right direction. The beginning of the declared Gynarchy will come when Gynarchic parties have secured a clear mandate, Female supremacy ideology is publicly acknowledged and promoted. The Gynarchy will be declared with the passing of the marriage act. The marriage act will define the Wife as the head of the household in Female-male couples, and give the Wife full power of authority over Her husband. While exercise of the full extent of this power will be entirely up the each Wife to choose, at any time She will have the legal right to overrule Her husband, and will essentially own him in a legal sense for the duration of their union. This will give all Women a taste of the dominance they can enjoy in the new order, rapidly speeding up Women's participation in bringing about total Female supremacy. The changes brought on by this first act will make the Gynarchy a reality and begin the transformation of society in a totally Female dominated direction.
The new world under a Gynarchy will be very much the same as the world today, only much improved in many ways. As the Gynarchy develops, and culture changes to fit the interests and mentalities of the Women and men living in the society, there will be fundamental shifts in popular art, entertainment, sports, public life, home life, and interpersonal relationships. As total Female dominance becomes generational, younger generations will be so totally immersed in the culture that it would be hard to imagine what life was like before the Gynarchy. Ask young people of today if they had a choice would they prefer to live in medieval society, or in the society of the 1870s. Most with any knowledge of what life was like for most people in those time periods would find those societies to be fraught with social problems, injustice, and misery, and would not prefer to live in such a world. Those living in the realized Gynarchy will likely have a similar view of the late-20th and early 21st centuries, and few would see the "loss" of some "rights" for men as a worthy excuse for the barbarism, excesses, and miseries of the patriarchal world. True, men will be in some ways second-class citizens in the Gynarchy, but the world filled with the love, beauty, and compassion of Female leadership will not be something many men would be interested in giving up. Most men will be far too concerned with the happiness of the Women in their lives, whom they care for deeply, to worry themselves with such backwards notions anyway.

A Female dominant society is dependent upon transforming global governments into a Gynarchy. In a Gynarchy... politics, leadership, law and management will be the realm of Women. While the support of "enlightened" men will be important to the transition to Gynarchy, ultimately the ability of men to vote will be logically removed. Some laws will need to be enacted to ensure the total compliance of men to the new order.
Absolutely essential to bringing about the Gynarchy and all it's benefits are five laws:
Tumblr media
1.-) A law banning men from voting:
In a Gynarchic society, only Women will be allowed to vote in government elections. Removing the ability of men to vote is important, not only for its symbolism, but also equally as vital for removing the male ego from ruining the world through greed and violence. This will also make bringing about other important changes to law much easier.
Tumblr media
2.-) A law banning men from holding key positions in office:
Just like a law banning men from voting, removing the ability of men to hold office is equally as important for its symbolism, as well as removing the male ego from ruining the world through greed and violence. This will also make bringing about other important changes to law much easier.
Tumblr media
3.-) An amendment redefining existing sexual harassment laws:
Existing laws defining sexual harassment would need to be amended to state that harassment or showing disrespectful behavior towards Women by a man will be forbidden and made legally punishable. Furthermore, the amended law would also have to state that harassment and speaking or showing disrespectful behavior towards a man by a Woman will be legally protected.
Tumblr media
4.-) An amendment giving the right to each and every Woman to discipline men:
The right of Women to discipline men, within legally described limits of safety and situation, will need to be fully protected under law. On the other hand, violence or physical force of any kind against a Woman by a man will carry heavy punishments.
Tumblr media
5.-) An amendment banning men from inherit land and wealth:
In a Gynarchic society, only Women must be allowed to inherit land and wealth. The right of Women to inherit land and wealth from their Female relatives must be given in the new compendium of Gynarchic laws, making inheritance an exclusive Women’s right, excluding males from any economic or financial system. It means that in a Gynarchic Family, the Daughter must be the only one who should take care of Her Family assets. It must be the Daughter the only one who must have the right to inherit all the land and wealth from Her Mother, even  overriding Her own father in hierarchy on this right. Being the only two exceptions for this rule:
1.-) When there is not a Female descendant;
In this case a financial Female-guardian must be appointed to both father and son or any other Female-relative, in case the Mother suddenly passes away, it will be their Female-guardian or Female-relative the one who must look for the good of father and son, only if the Mother passes away.
2.-) When a Mother decides to transfer some part of Her wealth directly and exclusively to Her Daughter in law, aka Her son’s Mistress Wife;
In this case a Mother can decide to inherit 80% of all Her wealth to Her biological Daughter, and 20% to Her Daughter in law, or whatever She decides fit better for Her Gynarchic Family.
While different places may have additional Gynarchy based laws, these simple changes will be all that is necessary to bring about the positive social effects a Gynarchy government can bring. Little else will change, but crime, poverty, war, and many other social problems will be drastically reduced or even eliminated all together. It seems a very small price to pay for an end to so much human suffering. Men will still be totally free to make life choices for themselves, and to come and go, within the limits of their own lives. As in any society, there will be some people who don't agree with the principles of the prime culture, and imagine that things would be better without the Gynarchy. Due to Female supremacy education, and the great benefits the society imparts towards Women, few Women will feel strongly enough this way to undermine the gains of the Gynarchy. Similarly, most men will realize the great virtue of Female leadership, and will be increasingly raised to find it normal and preferable.
Nonetheless, there will be ”male agitators” and an undercurrent of "male liberation" gender equality supporters. While any agitators will be given a stern response, peaceful male disagreement will be tolerated, albeit widely ridiculed in culture and public discourse. Due to the end of male suffrage, and the teaching of history showing the horrors of the patriarchy, these ideas will not be widespread or ever achieve any meaningful political traction.
Tumblr media
Gender Roles.
In the Gynarchy, Female domination of men's personal lives will be omnipresent, institutionalized, culturally celebrated, and even enforced. Imagine a gender-reversed 1950's, with the sexual spirit of the late 1960's, the tolerance of all people arising in our present day, with the technology of the near future. Certainly Women will occupy all political offices, positions of authority, and all managerial or executive jobs, and certainly, many Women will prefer to keep their men at home in the role of "househusband."
Men will still be free to choose their own lives. Those that end up there will end up there because they will choose it willingly, and usually gladly. However men can be just as bright, creative, insightful, and inventive as Women, and humankind would not benefit from losing all those talents that men have to offer. Men can still learn and take a career in any field they choose, they will simply be barred from having authority over Women. There is no reason any administrative position can't simply be filled by a competent Woman instead. Men holding leadership positions is absolutely not necessary in any way, and serves only their vanity and petty competition for dominance over other men. If a man does not have a valuable contribution to make as an artist, designer, scientist, mechanic, engineer, or other intellectual occupation, there is no need for him to be involved in any job that could be filled by a Woman instead. The world is just as it is today, only if the job is to be the boss of anyone, that job will only be held by a Woman. Even with future advances in robotics and automation, there will still be plenty of jobs for men as laborers. In addition, instead of military service, men will be able to enter into service of society in the State Service run by prominent Female-led societies. Male fashion will be indicative of their gender's role, because Women will largely be controlling what their men wear, and more so as time goes on, but also because all the clothes for men will be designed and produced by companies run by Women.
As Women will have the general authority to overrule, control, and manage men, society wide attitudes and practices will shift accordingly. As Women will have direct and specific authority over the men subordinate to them in different areas of their lives, management of smaller and more day to day aspects of a man's life will eventually become a natural part of life.
Tumblr media
Society.
Under a Gynarchy government, the world will be entirely run by Women, with the needs, interests, and preferences of Women made the focus of all social activity. Society will be geared around maximizing independence, recreation, and happiness for Women. Men's happiness will be the secondary goal, except in any way in which it interferes with maximum possible happiness of all Women involved. Men will be raised and encouraged to take pleasure in social events and arrangements that make Women happy and try always to satisfy even the smallest desires of a Woman.
Tumblr media
Public Life.
Public life in the first years of the Gynarchy will see the beginning of changes in dress, behavior, and activities, but will not be drastically different from before. Within a decade or two, however, social life will have been totally transformed by the interests, behaviors, and priorities of the Women raised in the Gynarchy. The social taboos and repressed culture of the patriarchy will be totally replaced by the practical, enjoyable, and uninhibited environment of the Gynarchy.
Tumblr media
Fashion.
Among the earliest signs of the Gynarchy will be the decline of men wearing pants. This will prove to be one of the Gynarchy's most important cultural developments, as it will speed along and solidify the rise of Female supremacy in society. The change will happen as Women in relationships stop allowing their men to wear pants, single men begin desiring their new clothing options, and over time as designers and clothing companies stop making pants for men. This will make the new world order highly visible, allowing Gynarchy prone men to embrace and promote the changes in society, and helping resistant men accept, embody, and internalize their new roles and positions.
While Women's fashion will still include a huge variety of clothing choices, there will naturally be some shifts to styles that reflect Women's power, domination, and authority. This will mean more business and professional looks, more pants in general, more boots, and more intimidating looks. However Women will still choose all the styles they enjoy, and as their sexuality is a huge part of their dominance and control of men, there may be an increase in sexy and revealing styles, with Women choosing options that highlight and celebrate the Female body. Despite shifts in popularity of styles, Women will choose any fashion styles they like, and Women will choose a wide range of choices just as they do today. The effect of Gynarchy fashion on other aspects of society will be manifold, as it visibly reiterates the primary basis of the new society - the enhancement of Women's privilege, and the removal of male privilege.
Tumblr media
Culture.
Culture is a reflection of the interests and values of the society that produces it. Cultural products are dictated by the needs and wants of that society. Culture evolves when it's products influence members of society, imparting common beliefs, practices, and attitudes. The culture of the Gynarchy will initially be a Female dominated take on the culture of the patriarchy, but over time will build and reinforce itself until its products are uniquely Gynarchic in origin. This will mean new art, sculptures,  statues, paintings, parks, literature, social groups, media, music, fashion, film industry, theater, TV series, TV shows, TV Ads, TV nightly news, marketing, internet, architecture, furniture, clothing, machines, tools, sex toys, sports, games, public events, and any other aspect of society.
Tumblr media
Relationships.
Relationships in the Gynarchy will come in all shapes, just as today. There will be a variety of heterosexual relationships, depending on the personalities involved, but generally speaking most could be described as 'Female lead', 'Female dominated', or 'totally Female controlled'. While homosexual couples of both sexes will experience little difference in the range of relationships they would find in the present day, heterosexual couples will be experiencing a total transformation and reversal of normalcy from back in the dark ages of the patriarchy.
Tumblr media
In the early years of Gynarchy there will still be many men seeking out Women who exercise as little of their right to dominance as possible, and enough Women out there who don't want to be dominant towards men, that certain patriarchal forms will still persist. After the first generation fully raised in the Gynarchy, and even more so after the second, the majority of Women will have been raised with the confidence, attitude, and expectation of male submissiveness that will empower them to fully actualize the spirit of the Gynarchy.
Similarly, men raised by Gynarchic institutions such as in their public school, government, workplace, and social groups, will still become immersed in proper Female-led education, even if their Mothers still runs a backward boy-coddling home. This will mean that eventually it will be hard to find a Woman to date that is not at least moderately dominant towards men, and equally hard to find a man to date that isn't looking for Female leadership from his partner. Each gender will have been raised to expect and feel comfortable in those roles, and this will mean more often than not, will enjoy the completeness and deep satisfaction that Female dominated relationships bring. Sure, there will always be some Women who prefer the sub-culture of some male authority in private, and this is of course their preference and choice. An even greater percentage will probably have tried some role playing, or role reversal to change things up or for fun from time to time, but this kind of thing is always a word away from being back under Female control. It is a world where the Woman is free to be Herself, to dress in as much or as little as She wishes, in any style, to love Her interests and share them or keep them to Herself as She wishes, and to expect and demand that a relationship is all about impressing, pleasing, and obeying Her, no matter what Her life preferences are.
Men will have the right to choose as well, but their choices will be different. Not getting into a relationship with a dominant Woman will mean very little chance of any kind of regular release from their chastity devices, in other words less ejaculations. Instead finding a partner that is right for them will be still very much part of a man's life under Gynarchy, although the constancy of male chastity will be essential since a very early age in his life, the best way always will be to enforce male chastity on boys since they reach puberty, this way they will get  accustomed to it and will not have struggles later in life, this will certainly make most men far less picky, more passive and submissive towards Women and far more accommodating than they are today.
While breaking up with a man that is not working out, or isn't a good long-term fit will be easy for a Woman, relationships are a bit more of a commitment for a man. A man can date a Woman just as simply as today, even get sexual with his mouth, ass, and hands, but to get his chastity key into the hands of a Woman from the Department of Men or his own Mother, She has to agree to become into his Keyholder, referred to as his 'Mistress' or his 'Girlfriend.' Both terms have the same meaning in a legal and societal sense. This means She had to arrange to get his key from his Mother, Female-guardian, the Department of Men, his current Female Boss, or his previous Girlfriend or Mistress.
Tumblr media
When a break-up occurs, the key either returns to the previous holder, or the ex-girlfriend can simply retain it. This means breaking up with a Girl that does not want to break up isn't always a simple proposition or a good idea for a male under Gynarchy. While a boy can certainly get a legal injunction to have his key returned to the Department of Men, or his Female Boss, or his Mother/Female-guardian, this requires a bit of effort and is not a quickly process, as it requires schedules. This should seriously improve the seriousness with which men enter into relationships in Gynarchy, and help to improve their behavior during a relationship, and if it comes to it, at the end of one. There is also the possibility that if a now ex-Girlfriend and/or Witnesses testify regarding the man's behavior that lead to the break-up, a judge might not even allow the key to be returned.
There are also legal provisions which allow the transfer of keys to other Women entirely at the Keyholder's consent. These are primarily used for situations where a Woman is travelling for work or other reasons and wishes to assign another temporary Authority. Due to this, a Woman can sign over a key legally to another Woman and break up with a man, leaving him to choose between convincing Her to return it somewhere else, allow him to have releases, or wait the four to six months waiting period before a temporary Keyholding permit expires. This is another freedom of choice that is a man's right, and he can choose which ever of those three options he wishes!
Tumblr media
The male’s choices after a Keyholder Woman breaks up with him under Gynarchy, regarding his male chastity device:
1.-) Convincing Her to return his keys somewhere else. It could be another Woman/Mistress/ex-Girlfriend/current Female Boss/his Mother/his Aunt/any other Female-relative.
2.-) Convincing Her to allow releases for him. This option is very unlikely to happen, as it was the Woman the one who wanted to break up with him.
3.-) Waiting from four months for adolescents to six months for grown up males for the Department of Men until the temporary Keyholding permit expires. A waiting period that any male on Gynarchy must get used to when a break up with his Girlfriend/Mistress occurs.
Tumblr media
Marriage.
Most heterosexual marriages in the patriarchy are Female dominated, although that domination is often subtle, unspoken, or otherwise framed to placate the male ego. In the Gynarchy, this very normal state will be institutionalized, openly acknowledged, and legally enshrined. Women in Female-male marriages are for the most part the full legal owners of their husbands, and enjoy a number of privileges in regards to their male property.
These ownership rights include a wide range of powers, such as power of attorney, full power over property and finances, medical procedures, body modification, dress and appearance, chastity belt key, right to orgasm control, right to discipline, right to use of body, right to unlimited sexual access, and right to enforce obedience.
Tumblr media
Unlike options for breaking off a relationship with a Girlfriend, options for divorce instituted by a male are extremely limited if not null, though not entirely impossible. Essentially, marriage is a permanent ownership situation, unless one partner passes away, or the Woman institutes divorce. There is nothing in society requiring men or Women to get married, and thus marriage is simply a beautiful, total, and legal affirmation of the devotion of a man to a Woman, and of the dedicated mastery of a man by a Woman. Married men can expect to be as busy, controlled, and limited as their Wives choose, or don't choose, and obviously this is something they should have a good sense about what to expect before they enter into marriage.
Married Women can expect that they have full power to alter the nature of their life, relationship, and how time is spent, as they please, and in the state of marriage have even less concern about enforcing changes upon their male partners than they do when dating or in a committed relationship.
Tumblr media
Every Woman is a Queen of Her relationship, and absolute Ruler in Her own home, and thus the vast majority of Women have a throne, a seat of any kind that is kept in the home as a symbol of their Rule. As Royalty, Wives can dictate as they please as much or as little rules of behavior in their presence and in their home upon their husbands. In essence a married man is an active extension of his Wife's life and person, and is expected to act as such accordingly to Her likes, personality, commands and wishes.
Yet another thing that would change under a Gynarchy is the patriarchal traditions of a man asking the father of his Girlfriend permission to marry Her and a father giving away the bride at the Wedding. These traditions harks back to the time when young Girls were considered the property and financial burden of their fathers and were handed off as such to their husbands. But even without those connotations, neither of these patriarchal traditions make sense in a in a Gynarchy society.
In the Gynarchy it will be the Mother/Female-guardian the one who will be asked by Her son’s Girlfriend/Mistress to marry Her son and the Mother/Female-guardian will be the one that will accept or deny a request of permission to marry him. The Gynarchic Weddings may vary but they will be the same from Gynarchy district to Gynarchy district, it will be Weddings where in most of the cases the Mother will pass Her son’s chastity keys to Her Daughter in law, aka Her son’s new Mistress Wife at some point during the Gynarchic Wedding ceremony.
Tumblr media
Yet another patriarchal tradition that will end under a Gynarchy is the tradition of a Woman changing Her last name to the name of Her husband once they are married. Under Gynarchy, it would be common practice for both the Woman and the man to keep their given names, unless the Woman decides to change either Her last name or Her husband’s last name. Ultimately, it is the Woman’s decision whose name gets changed, if either name gets changed. Thus in the majority of cases, the Woman will require Her husband to take Her last name, because of the culture under Gynarchy. At some point in the coming Gynarchy, it will be totally normal for husbands to take upon their Wife’s names, as a part of the societal standards and it will be institutionalized and fully promoted by the Gynarchic State.

BLESSED BE THE GYNARCHIC GODDESS.

~~~
Donghyuck knew he was a cheerful boy. His cheerfulness was given to him by his mother who he lived with for the first five years of his life. He couldn't remember her face but he did remember her smile and bubbly attitude and it stuck with him even after he was seperated from her to live with the Lee's. To live with his father.
He's always been social and good with people so he couldn't understand why Mrs.Lee hated him so much. Nor could he understand why his brothers who he was so excited to meet never spoke to him, so he had simply assumed that talking inside the Lee house was forbidden. He barely remembers his early childhood, just glimpses of memories passed through his head. Memories like Mrs.Lee's glares and awful words, memories of yelling and crying but he wasn't sure where the crying was coming from, memories of being stuck with an awful Maths teacher who really didn't like him.
But those were just distant memories because the memories that stuck with him were sitting at the dinner table and eating with his brother's, his elder brothers taking care of him and pampering him, Marks red face when he would annoy the boy who no matter how mad he was would never push Donghyuck away.
He remembers growing up protected by Taeyong, Ten, Mark and Jeno from his awful step mother. She was the only person Donghyuck ever despised, he remembers how she was drunk and angry one day and she grabbed him by his arm and yelled at him, told him he wasn't supposed to exist, wasn't supposed to be loved. But she was also told him something that broke his eight year old self, she told him his birth mother had died.
He remembers crying into Tens arms bitterly and all of his brothers joining him, huddling together on Tens small bed to console him. That night when he had fallen asleep in his brothers arms he dreamt of his mother, his mother who smiled at him and told him he was loved and that he was ment to love and to always be happy and cheerful. And so he believed her.
He lived his life quite happily, shielded from his parents by his brothers, which he would grow up to appreciate.
He was cheerful and friendly and loving and got along with everyone. So he couldn't for the life of him understand why you made his blood boil so much.
"Y/n you're messing it up!" He yelled, frustrated but you only ignored him poking you tongue out from the side of your mouth as you concentrated on lining the border of your assignment with decorative tape.
"Do you think we're still in kindergarten?" He mocked you and without wavering your attention from the task at hand you spoke, "If we were in kindergarten I would be at peace and you wouldn't be here." And that angered him even more.
"Why did you follow me to uni" he grumbled under his breath sitting down next to you.
"Please you followed me here" you scoffed, handing over the assignment to him.
"Why did you even waste time decorating the first page of the script. It doesn't make sense and doesn't even add to our marks"
"One. It makes our script original-" "but isn't the story in it origna-" "TWO. It looks cute" you said with a grin plastered on your face and he looked at you and wondered how anyone could be so irritability adorable.
"Well if you're only going to stare at me weirdly I'm leaving" and you were gone before he even got a chance to say anything. Haechan sighed, looking at the cutely decorated cover page to the script the two of you worked on together. You really were stupid.
Before he knew it he found himself at lunch seated in between Mark and Renjun.
"Ugh I swear if this one doesn't turn our right I'm quitting" Renjun grumbled to no one in particular as he continued to work on his art assignment. Haechan sighed feeding the busy boy a sandwich and Mark rolled his eyes.
"What are you losers upto" Jeno asked, approaching the table with Jisung trailing behind him.
"I'm still in shock you're studying music and dance" Mark said taking a bite of his food.
"He says that everytime" Jisung rolled his eyes as he sat down.
"At the pace at which Jeno was going at I'm pretty sure Mark expected him to get into crime" A voice spoke and all the boys looked up to be greeted by a smiling Jaemin.
"Aren't you supposed to be on my side?" Jeno asked Jaemin with a pout and the other just laughed handing him a bottle of water.
"Please I love Mark more" the grinning boy said and Jeno being his dramatic self visibly deflated.
"Calm down there casanova Marks already got someone" Renjun said, eyes still on his painting.
"Where's Chenle?" Haechan then asked. "He's still stuck in the practice room, said his partner is being annoying" Jisung answered after he realised no one else was going to.
"Pft I know a thing or to about annoying partners" Haechan scoffed and everyone at the table sighed.
"Here we go again" Jisung said rolling his eyes and digging into his food.
"Again?"
"Oh please Haechan this happens everytime it's either y/n this or y/n that. You're obsessed" Renjun said banging his paint brush onto the table.
"What! That's not true" Haechan started to get defensive.
"Please the amount of tension between the two of you is crazy! Like just date already" Jeno laughed and now Donghyuck was very embarrassed.
"You're single ass should date first you've still not dated anyone after-" Donghyuck stopped himself immediately realising the words coming out of his mouth.
"That's my fault isn't it" Mark frowned.
"No!" Jeno said and then glared in Donghyucks direction, "No. I gave you my blessings it's okay I had to get over our relationship and I'm so happy for the two of you right now" Jeno said quickly and Mark frowned.
"But what if you had a chance.."
"Mark Lee you foolish fool if Jeno said he had no problem and literally encouraged you to date his ex then don't question it. Plus he's giving his all to music right now" Jaemin said patting Marks back.
"Hate to say this but Jaemins right, like Jeno could have easily killed you in his sleep of he had a prblem with you, we live in the same house remember?" Haechan added grinning and everyone faceplamed.
"Anyway moving on I've got a buisness class right now I'm going to run" Jaemin said getting up and leaving and Renjun jumped up cheering.
"Geez I didn't know you hate Jaemin hyung" Jisung the ever sassy said and Renjun looked at him confused before realisation dawned on him "Ahhh no I'm done with my drawing and I need to run too" Renjun said eyes widening as he noticed the time, grabbing his stuff and running off. They watched with a laugh how Renjun who was usually calm and graceful tripped as he ran out.
"Wait when did Jisung even leave?" Mark asked pointing to the empty seat. "Ungreatful brat" was muttered by Jeno.
"Are you guys secretly hanging out with y/n and lermimg disappearing trick from them?" Haechan asked and Mark and Jeno just gave him a look. "what?"
"Y/n again? I'm telling you you're obsessed" Jeno chuckled and Haechan chocked on his spit as he quickly got up and hurried away from his brothers teasing.
He was on his way to his locker when he spotted you laughing rather fakely to something a very attractive boy was saying. You laugh was a pitch higher than normal and Haechan almost snorted loudly. Almost. And you were most definitely flirting with that guy.
He approached you with a smile from behind, tapping your back and watching with utmost pleasure when you frowned.
"Is that a new laugh y/n weren't you snorting like a pig just today morning" he asked with a cheeky grin and you frowned.
"Shut up and leave" you said throught gritted teeth trying your best to keep calm.
"Oh c'mon I was just kidding" Haechan smiled and was about to wrap his arms around your shoulder when the boy you were talking to stopped him. He glared at the hand stopping his.
"I don't know who you are but you're making y/n uncomfortable so you got to leave" the boy said pushing Haechans hand away and grabbing onto your hand and pulling you away from Haechan.
Haechan stood there shocked at the boys actions for a second before snapping and pulling you back with so much force you fell onto his chest.
He glared daggers at the boy, his eyes threatening him. "Y/n and I have known eachother all I lives and now we've got a project to work on so don't suddenly interfere in the life of someone you know nothing about." Haechan said coldly, venom hidden behind each word of his and he dragged you away.
He was fuming, not realising where he was going until he was at the garden with you.
"Can you believe the nerve of that guy?" He scoffed but you didn't say anything head hung low. He immediately took notice of that.
"Y/n what's wrong?" He asked worried and thats when you looked up at him, eyes tired. "This has to stop" you pleaded and he didn't understand what you were saying.
"You did this back in school too. You were awful to me and hated me but the moment I was with someone other than you you'd make a big deal out of it and end up fighting with that person" you said said, voice breaking and tears glistening your eyes. Haechan was about to defend himself when you spoke again. "I'm so tired of whatever crap you're pulling Haechan, you were always sending me mixed signals in school and I let you take me for a ride but not again. I liked you but hated you. You made me angry but so happy. You pushed me away only to pull me back and I'm sick of it" the tears now made their way down you face as you cried and Haechan stood there feeling so guilty for making you cry.
"Y/n I'm so sorry I didn't mean to.."
"Of course you didn't mean to" a dry laugh escaped your lips, "but tell me, did you ever like me? Was this just entertainment for you? For when you were bored?" You asked with spite.
And suddenly everytime someone hinted at his weird obsession with you came back to him, "Look I don't hate you... Atleast I think I don't. Not that much I-" You scoffed cutting him off.
"It's either you like me or you don't stop playing with my heart this isn't funny" you said rather calmly but the anger visible in your eyes.
"I don't know...I don't think so" he could hear your heart break and somehow he felt like maybe, he was wrong.
"Then leave please leave" you said agressively wiping away the fresh tears falling down your face. He tried to comfort you but you raised you hand stopping him.
He sighed in defeat and began to walk away, head hung low. He felt bad for making you cry and wanted to see you smile. Just then the thought of you crying in that pretty boys arms crossed his mind and he felt and awful feelin at the pit of his stomach. Jealousy. He was jealous, he wanted to make you happy and he wanted to hold you as you cried, he didn't want you to look at other people lovingly, and he hated the thought of you kissing someone else so he immediately turned to you and grabbing you by your shoulders.
"Look y/n I want to believe I hate you but at the same time I hate when it's not me that makes you happy because I love making you smile, I love making you laugh, I love annoying you." He said eyes serious as you blankly stared at him.
"All I know is whatever is going on in my head, you're at the center of it and you're the only one that can help me figure out what my fixation with you is."
"That's stupid." you mumbled, looking away from his intense gaze and he smiled.
"Nothing's stupid in love and war y/n and right now I don't know if I'm at war with you" he paused and you looked up at him and he smiled at you fondly, "or in love with you."
You looked at him awe struck and he couldn't help but chuckle at how cute you looked, with eyes still shining from all the tears and your face flushed.
"Will you help me figure which one it is?" He asked, his tone hopeful and you thought for a while and nodded as he grinned happily. And you smiled.
"This might just be my own downfall" you started with a frown and then a very small smile made its way to your face, "But atleast then I'll know more than I know now."
Bonus:
"This is stupid he's in love with you" Jeno said with a frown and Haechan pouted as he watched you laugh.
"Ah y/n run away while you can, our hyucks really stupid to even think he hates you" Mark added and if you weren't holding his hand right now Haechan would have punched his brother.
"Oh so this is the infamous y/n" Ten said walking into the room with a smirk on his face and Haechan silently cried inside.
"We really need to leave" he said but you were at your antics again and said "no we don't we have plenty of time don't we" he swears he hates you but at the same time it was impossible to hate you when you smiled at him like that.
"Ohhh is this y/n Donhyuck?" Came his eldest brothers voice and this time Haechan did cry.
"Oh c'mon don't pretend to cry you love me"Taeyong said patting his back and you chuckled.
"No I love Mark" Haechan said glaring at the eldest who only chuckled, "What's with everyone's fixation on Mark?" Jeno asked and Ten rolled his eyes "You just don't see how adorable our Markie is because your Taeyongs pet"
"Hyuck this is your fault the name stuck!" Mark growled and you stood there watching the brothers argue with eachother, amused at their antics.
"Ahh this is what you'll be getting into if you associate with this family" A voice said behind you and you turned around to meet the person who was your senior in high school and the one that stole Tens heart.
"Wouldn't I be lucky if that was the case?" You asked but another voice spoke "Try being stuck babysitting five grown men" you turned to see the person you recognised as Marks partner.
"I will hit you!" Haechan yelled charging at Mark who had run behind Ten who was yelling at Taeyong for help who who was being held down by a sulky Jeno.
You shared a look with the two people beside you as the three of you broke out in laughter.
Mouse - Nature vs Nurture?
Tumblr media
In the beginning, I wondered whether the main theme of this drama is about the concept of nature versus nurture.
It’s pretty straightforward. You have 2 kids born with a psychopath gene (don’t question the science here). 1 kid lives with a doting mother, but he grows up as the son of an infamous serial killer, Headhunter.
Whereas the other kid lives with an ‘evil’ stepfather who clearly favours his own children, with his mother tried to kill him once. All kids at the school keeps calling him a weirdo, because, well, he is a bit of an antisocial.
As you can see, both kids live in a controlled setup. Both grow up being perceived as the outcast. But the way their family treat them is different, so you can see if that kind of a difference plays a part in the outcome, i.e., whether or not they become psychopaths.
This is a clear set up by the writer for the theme of nature vs nurture.
I’m not going to go into details of what happened throughout the entire drama because hoo boy there’s a lot to unpack in this drama. As what Mortred, the phantom assassin says:
“Don’t blink, or you’ll miss me.”
 When the truth has been revealed, I keep asking myself if the whole fiasco would have happened had the experiment not been conducted by OZ, led by Choi Young Shin, the Presidential Chief Secretary, who wields great power and influence over governmental bodies.
Sure, the question of whether or not the government should be allowed to enforce mandatory abortion on fetus that carry the psychopath gene sparks a heated debate. I am not even going to bother to spare my brain cells to the question.
But here we have Young Shin, who dreams of a utopia free of war and crime, and to achieve her dream, she believes that eliminating psychopaths is of utmost priority.
So we have the whole experiment being secretly funded and operated under her authority. The modus of operandi is simple. Observe the three kids born with psychopath gene (yes, there were three of them), get experts to analyse their behaviours, and present evidence that people born with psychopath gene are monsters who deserve to be eliminated from the moment they are in the womb.
However, the experiment faced some challenges along the way. First, Yo Han was ruled out from being a psychopath. Secondly, despite the various aggression that Jae Hoon/Ba Reum displayed as a kid, he never go as far as actually harming other people. Only Woo Hyung Chul (the third kid) showed positive result for the experiment.
Frustrated by this, OZ decided to throw a bait to Ba Reum by feeding him intel on the whereabout of Su Ho, the perpetrator who ‘accidentally’ killed his family when he was a kid. Sure enough, Ba Reum took the bait and tortured Su Ho in the same way his family members were killed.
...”fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth...”
From that moment onwards, Ba Reum started to go on a killing spree, before completing his grand show of serial killing, by choosing to judge and punish people who refused to commit the seven deadly sins.
Tumblr media
What bothers me is this, would Ba Reum have gone on a killing spree if he was not put in the environment he was set in? Would he have started killing people if he was not given the right stimulus?
His predator instinct was awaken after killing Su Ho. He blamed the deity for not answering his prayer as a kid for him to not become a monster. He was triggered to kill Su Ho, and he blamed the deity for letting him to become the monster he was becoming.
In a way, you can argue that Jae Hoon/Ba Reum was also a victim of the cruel experiment. We saw how as a kid, Jae Hoon resolved to live a fake life by wearing a mask of the kindest and the most righteous kid in the world. This was after acknowledging that he could not continue to demonstrate aggressive behaviour if he wants to live as a normal kid whose achievements, whose presence is celebrated by the people around him, just like the little annoying transfer student kid who took away his position as the first kid in the class (yes, it was Yo Han).
Deep in its core, when you finally untangle the twists of the red thread of fate intertwining between the lives of Jae Hoon and Yo Han, the story of Jung Jae Hoon/Ba Reum was about a kid who was given a side eye as a kid just because he was born different than the other kids. The kid desperately prayed to the deity to not become a monster, and when he believed his prayer was not answered, he decided to rebel against the deity by mocking deity punishment and the whole concept of the seven deadly sins.
Do I pity him? Yes. Do I wonder if his life would have been different had the OZ not orchestrated his life? Absolutely. Do I condone his killing innocent people whom he deemed as sinful just because they refused to commit the seven deadly sins? No.
I can understand his motive, and how the situations he was put in made him the monster he was. His entire life was basically a torture, a living hell.
But, after the entire ordeal, and when he finally accepted that the deity did answer his prayer, albeit much later than he had expected (and in the most unexpected way), he was finally able to shake free from the cruel experiment, feel deep remorse for his sin (which he was not capable of doing before), and rest in peace.
Currently thinking about trauma and abuse recovery. Some people seem to think that you should go back to how you felt before the trauma happened. And that you need to rediscover your innate trust in the world or whatever. But I think that’s counterproductive? Trauma teaches a person that the world is dangerous and that’s an important lesson to learn. I think it’s important to become deadly. To learn how to fight and to become mentally strong. Recovery shouldn’t be exclusively soft imo.
I half agree with that! I actually have a lot to say about this, both from personal experience and recent class topics!
I agree that it's not necessarily a good goal, or even possible, to "return to before" the trauma happened. You can't un-experience something, especially something as impactful as trauma. I think it's a healthier goal to work towards accepting the trauma as a part of yourself and your life, and moving past it, knowing that it doesn't have to define you and can be a smaller part of who you are as you grow larger and expand as a person. I also agree that recovering and healing, or being mentally healthy, doesn't equal being soft and naively trustful, that's dangerous for anyone. Being soft isn't always a good thing, and being hardened isn't necessarily a bad thing.
On the other hand, trauma can cause people to develop a hardened mindset which often comes with unhealthy beliefs and worldviews. I personally call this being in "trauma world", because it really does feel like being in a different world from untraumatized people. Everything is viewed differently. I've heard psychologists refer to a similar or same concept as a "war zone mentality" and "urban survival syndrome" and it's related to PTSD.
----
People in this “war zone mentality” often:
-Have a tendency to over-identify potential threats, which often leads to justifying preemptive assault, when really there might have been no need for it
-Have an inability to regulate emotion and over-react to present, non-traumatic situations that trigger unprocessed emotions from previous, actual traumas (rage, fear, humiliation, rejection)
-Have a belief that people are out for themselves and will hurt you for their gain
-Have a belief that most people are manipulative and you are either the manipulator or the manipulated, the predator or the prey
I added these myself, from my own beliefs, but I think it also includes:
-Have a belief that life is short, death can come at any moment without warning, tomorrow is not guaranteed, so indulging in/aiming for instant gratifications is actually smarter and more logical than investing in the long term
-Have a belief that money is equal to life- liquid life- so killing for it is ok and justified (this pertains more to organized crime but it can be individual too)
-Have a belief that most people are unhappy and trauma is normal
-Have a belief that life does not have much value, due to their own unhappiness and inability to see their own life as valuable, so killing is not that bad
-Honor culture- feel an obligation to respond with violence to defend self, family’s honor when you feel disrespected or challenged. Belief that this is the morally right to do and should be expected by the offending party. Failure to do so is cowardice.
-When you make a threat and it is challenged, you must follow through with the threat, or lose respect and be seen as weak. Following through is the right thing to do and should be expected.
----
There’s more but I think you get the idea. These beliefs are often internalized and the person may not even realize that they believe this. But basically traumatized people can have a sense of right and wrong that is different from “normal” people. To them, many acts of violence seem unprovoked and like “crazy” choices, but through the “trauma world” mindset or lens, it makes complete logical sense.
From my textbook:
Tumblr media
When a person has this mindset, it interferes with relationships and can cause the person to get into legal trouble, as well as put their own life at risk.
It’s hard to heal and move away from this mindset, because as you pointed out, its an important lesson to learn in many environments, and if the person is still in that environment, or if they ever get back into it, they need this mindset to survive. Learning these things was painful and if you heal away from this mindset, you’ll have to experience the pain of learning and breaking your mind into this mindset again. It’s like a broken arm- if you heal it, there’s always a chance of getting it broken again. So it’s a hard situation.
To heal, I believe a person needs to be:
a) out of that environment
b) have trust that they will not find themselves back in that environment
