astro observations pt. 2

1.) venus square mars ppl have trouble with balancing their masculine and feminine energies. they can feel this internally and it can make them feel insecure. one second they feel hyper feminine and the next they feel more masculine. they wish they could find a way to balance both sides of them but it’s a struggle. they could come off too strong from time to time as a result of their inner conflict (might come off too strongly feminine or masc in the moment) and then they’d feel bad ab it later

"Fucking— there's a thing called sentimental value, Miguel!"

"I'll buy you a new one, I promise-"

"Fuck you!" You slammed your bedroom door closed. He really fucked up.

You spent hours in your bedroom, the comforter wrapped around your body. You waited for him to come apologize but it looks like he wasn't going to any time soon.

It was until you left the room when you realized Miguel left.

As the front door opens, Miguel steps in. He takes off his coat, hanging it before walking to the kitchen to you with a glass of wine.

You stared at him, still disappointed in him. You chugged the remaining wine before pouring another. But you stop, looking at coat on the hooks.

You got off the bar stool, sprinting towards his coat and grabbing it. Miguel saw what you were doing and pried the coat away from your grasp "Are you seriously still pissed off about that dumb coat?"

"You fucking left for a week! How do you expect me to react?"

"I gave you space and time to cool off."

"It doesn't change the fact you threw my coat!"

"I'm sorry, okay? Honey, come on-"

"Fuck you!" You pulled on his coat, ripping the sleeve. We both stopped. Miguel looked at his coat and his eyes turned red "Are you happy?"

"Very."

Next thing you know, you're bent over the kitchen island. His bulge pressed against your ass. He leans in close, his voice a seductive whisper against your ear "I'm going to take my time with you, darling," he murmurs, his words dripping with desire "You wanna be a brat? I'll fuck it out of you."

Siren Tower AU!

I wanna keep this more on the silly side, but here's the basic gist of it.

There's a huge tower submerged in the ocean where many sirens and other sea creatures have found a home, and somehow humans have discovered it. They want to study and explore this tower, and the sirens are NOT happy about it, not wanting their home to be potentially destroyed. Pretty reasonable. But now, this random middle aged pizza baker somehow gets roped into this whole mess.

And here's the characters! (I tried to keep their heights accurate but idk if i succeeded)

And down there is some more info about everyone!

HUMANS (and Brick)

Peppino

He still has his pizzeria, but it's located a little closer to town. While business is slightly better than in game, he still has debts. But hey, he has his own apartment!! No more sleeping in the back of the pizzeria or on the floor!!

Peppino will sometimes just come to the shore or the port in the evening or at night to clear his head or be alone with his thoughts. Depressed guy. Will sometimes talk to himself when he thinks he's alone. He isn't necessarily afraid of the ocean, but because he can't swim, once he's in water the fear kicks in and he starts panicking.

He doesn't believe in sirens, mermaids, or other such creatures. Thinks they're just made up to tell scary stories of the sea. Jokes on him, he's about to meet the jolliest shark gnome man he's ever seen.

Brick

A gigantic rat that lives with Peppino, who didn't get a say in this. Just appeared one day, and no matter how many times Peppino tries to get rid of him, Brick always comes back. After a while Pep reluctantly accepts him and sometimes even takes him for a walk.

Brick actually loves to swim, but doesn't stay in the water for too long cause Pep won't join him. Like, he'll just leave if Brick stays too long. Kinda rude if you ask me.

Mr. Stick

Tax and debt collector, and a friend of Peppino. He often comes over for a pizza, then proceeds not to eat much, and rarely pays (he either says he's deducting it from Pep's debts or he lets someone else pay). He's kind of a piece of shit but outside of the whole money business he can be pretty nice.

He strikes me as a gambler tbh, either he's extremely lucky or extremely unlucky. Likes playing poker, and invites Peppino and Hazel to play after work from time to time.

Doesn't believe in sirens, but if he ever saw one he'd try to exploit it for money. He wouldn't kill it or anything though, mainly because he's too weak and he doesn't know how to handle guns.

Noisette / Hazel

She runs a little cafe near Peppino's pizzeria, and is good friends with him, but can sometimes be a little annoying. They hang out after work from time to time. When she notices that Peppino is having a rough day, she'll sometimes bring over a free cup of coffee or a slice of cake for him. Sometimes experiments with... interesting... food combinations, which are strangely popular.

She has loved mermaids and sirens since she was young and is very fond of them. Once she discovers they're real, she becomes even more fascinated and obsessed with them. You better believe she wanted to be a mermaid when she was young.

SIRENS

Gustavo

A little round shark man who is perfect in every way. He's curious and adventurous, and even though sirens and humans are enemies since, uh. A long time. He doesn't believe that humans are inherently evil. He'll help out whenever and however he can, but can get very aggressive when his friends or brethren are threatened. You will regret it if you anger him.

Noise annoys him often but they don't harm each other. He isn't really friends with Noise, but he will defend him if he's threatened or attacked.

One day he saves Peppino from drowning, which makes other sirens sceptical of him, especially those who think humans are evil. He will later try to learn human language to be able to communicate with Peppino better.

Noise

Goblin shark. He can theoretically go on land for a bit, but needs some water nearby. He's a little sceptical about humans, but not outright hostile. He likes annoying pretty much everyone, especially Peppino once they meet (he thinks his reactions are funny).

He throws sea urchins and pufferfish at others like bombs, as he (like most sirens) is immune to their poison / venom. While he's usually an unhinged gremlin, he just about melts when with Hazel. But of course he tries to hide this from others.

Fake Peppino

Created by Pizzahead from DNA of frogs, newts, and Peppino (obviously). He was meant to be a weapon for sirens against humans, and thus is supposed to be hostile. Unfortunately, he turned out to be extremely affectionate, and he loves hugs. Much like Gustavo, when friends are attacked, he can get downright deadly. He can also regenerate body parts like an axolotl, unless his brain has been damaged. Like, you can rip both his arms off and they'll grow back within a day.

He becomes close friends with Gustavo, and is kind of fascinated by Peppino (other humans too, but mostly Peppino). He would play in the water with Brick once they meet, and become friends with Hazel. Can go on land as well, but prefers the water. He communicates with croaks, gurgles and other noises, and can speak very limited human language (very few fractions of words or sentences, it just sounds like gibberish), taught to him by Pizzahead.

Pepperman

Lumpfish (idk either just roll with it). He's kind of indifferent to humans, but he does think he's better than them. I could see him making a brush or something out of seaweed to draw. And then always getting upset that his drawings never stay cause of the water, but he keeps drawing anyway. Blames Noise for destroying his art even if he knows it's the water (Noise thinks it's funny). "Borrows" seaweed from Vigi's farm to make new brushes. But he'll also make statues out of various rocks and other things he finds laying around. Mostly of himself. Some humans think they're built from ancient civilizations, while others think it's some sort of elaborate hoax. Nobody recognizes Pepperman's talent :(

Vigilante

Sea slug. He genuinely believes humans want to kill sirens for nefarious reasons, possibly cause he's a little older i guess. Hands just appear when he needs them.

He has an underwater equivalent of a farm (like, he grows and tends to seaweeds, anemones, corals, etc), that he inherited from his grandpa. He'd love to just tend to the farm all day, but feels obligated to punish anyone who does wrong. Unofficial officer / sheriff of the sea. He still has his cowboy hat because i said so let me be silly on main.

Pizzahead

Ribbon eel. He can give others a little shock as if he had like a hand shocker thing. It mostly just hurts a bit and isn't lethal cause cartoon logic. He does not like humans, but mostly because he grew up with everyone around him telling him they're evil. Actually he's very curious and fascinated by humans, which is why he decided to clone Peppino. Mostly cause he sees him the most on the shore. Somehow. How he actually got his DNA is a mystery.

Later on he decides / attempts to make Fakey into a weapon after witnessing how strong Peppino is. He obsessively learns human language and tries to understand as much about human culture as he can. But he'll twist things around and tell others that he does it to "better understand their weaknesses". Right.

Pizzaface

Stingray. The leader of sirens in the elusive Siren Tower. He HATES humans, especially after some divers discovered the tower and continuously come there to explore. Basically just doesn't want his and his fellow sirens' home discovered or threatened. He's disappointed in Pizzahead because he taught himself human language, even after given an explanation (or excuse).

SPECULATION CORNER

Aka characters i can't quite figure out what to do with yet

Burton

A whale shark bc I can't get enough of sharks apparently. Sharks are cool okay

Alternative: just Mr. Stick's husband who sometimes comes with him to Peppino's

Gerome

A sentient rock and John's older brother, who always took care of him and helped him with the tower. Now just does maintenance and keeps John company.

Alternative: Peppino's janitor, but still made of rock because that's silly

John

A sentient rock that used to carry the tower around through the oceans but somehow got cursed and is now part of the foundation and can't move anymore. Was he a siren before? Or just a pillar? Or maybe a fish made of stone? We don't know.

so I wanna do a little trip/photo dump of my latest jeffy adventure. I may delete this who knows but for now, adventures below!

I tbh wasn't at my best during this trip, I had a bit of a not fun ocd episode while traveling and I do feel like I spent most of the trip trying to get back to my baseline okayness - so to my lovely friends and travel partners thanks for being awesome and treating me with kindness!! I really, really appreciated it 💖💖

chiang rai was beautiful. we went to an insanely gorgeous garden cafe on the first day

tbh by the time Jeff was onstage I'd been standing around since 2pm (he got on stage...at 10pm 😭) the things We Do for Barricade. I was soooo sweaty and frazzled by then

it was a very cool set up tho! it was a little music festival, lots of food/etc, and they lit up hot air balloons over our heads

we saw a few performers and slot machine!! who were right before jeff. finally got to see them live and ohmygod did they pop off!! at one point they were in front of us just tearing up the stage for ages, they threw guitar picks at us haha (I did not catch one lol)

and then jeff.....look we all know how that went down

but here's a screenshot of when he Looked at me the first time and i fucking realized if I can see them.....they can see me. no??? jfc i think i like super reacted, flailed backwards a bit I think. i prefer to not beobserved okay?? but anyway and that's why he came for my throat later i believe. demon

then look after jeff it was just jumpscare after jumpscare, bumping into his band member at midnight in our hotel lobby (all the musicians and sound crew were having a big drinking party on the steps of the hotel. jeff wasn't there tho) and then the next morning bumping into rasika checking out etc etc

okay some of my fits on the trip! day 1, then jeffy day and the next travel day, which ended up being the Day we followed Jeff and his team around at the airport, unintentionally

each of these in front of the cupboard nowhere near as good as jeffs lol

okay now bkk!! i got a few street shots cause i love doing that

then witnessed jeff on the bts and found some cat pants

and went plus size shopping at platinum mall. i knew about the names before hand but oh my god im laughing

and then!!! bang sue junction, which is mile and apo's fav hang out spot for vintage shopping. sadly we didn't bump into them. but it was such an awesome place to explore

we also wrote a lil letter each and wrapped up some presents to send to jeff. i would like to say it takes 2+ ppl to puzzle out a thailand post box and how to put it together (and there was only 2 of us at that point lol ;.;)

okay i was gonna add more but that's heaps, i think. despite my brain being frazzled 24/7 on this trip it was a good one. thank you so much to @patpran who showed me all the cool places and was a very lovely travel partner!!! you were awesome!!!

i'm honestly so grateful i got to go, and have these experiences ahhhhh, i'm gonna treasure it (sorry post trip emo-ness) anyway i gotta get back to work now but, if you've read this far, you're a star haha <3

Subject Diaries #0 - Jockout the Subject, Part 1

In traditional Jockout fashion, I'm getting to this a little later (and differently) than I'd expected, but I've made it at last.

Initially, I was planning this first post to be a fairly blunt description of the files I've been listening to and the effects I've been experiencing; but I realised it's kinda weird to do that without ever really talking about my desires and what I'm into with hypnosis, lol. I will still give a little breakdown of what I've been up to (and that's what my future posts in this series will mostly be) but for the first one, I think I wanna talk a little more broadly first about my experiences/wants with hypnosis.

You've already met Jockout the hypnotist, so now let's talk about Jockout the subject:

As in my bio, I'm 22 (for a few more weeks) and live in Ireland in a suuper rural area, far from any population centers. I work as a freelance writer (AKA unemployed most of the time), so lots of time on my hands.

I've got extensive history with masculinisation hypnosis of all types and flavours. I first got into it fairly young via "Turn Straight" hypnosis (which is sad, looking back!) but it very rapidly transformed into all this. I was interrogating my sexuality and came to realise that more than being attracted to men, I was attracted to manhood, and I was into TF/mind control stuff. So falling into the masculinisation hypno hole was a pretty logical progression. Like many of us, I started on WarpMyMind but did get sick of that place quickly.

So that's setting the scene for who I am. What's my actual experience level with hypnosis?

Firstly, I am predominately a file subject. I've done some live trances and toyed with the Hypnosis4Guys circuit before but out of 10 people I've tranced with, 1-2 were ethical with me at most. I've dealt with people ignoring limits set pre-session, photos being taken of me without my consent, sessions being recorded, clumsy attempts to use triggers on me when I voice objections... I do have hypnotist friends I trust now who I could trance with, but tbh, I'm just more comfortable trancing on my own time nowadays. I feel strongly that hypnosis files can still have effect, despite what a battery of Twitter hypnodoms will tell you to the contrary. It just takes a different set of skills to live trancing.

As a subject, the files I've got the most experience with in total are Jack Drago's Masculine Conditioning series, Rigsby's Absolute Jock, and too many of @avissapiens' catalog to list, though I've spent the most time with Douche Gymbro, Perfect Muscle Bull, Painted Himbo, and Abyss Drone as a default "I wanna trance but don't know what file" option. I've done too many other random files to count, but these are the ones I stood by for the longest. (@hyphyphurray is the most recent addition to this staple rotation, someone I only started listening to sometime in the last few years... but more on that in my next post.)

The final thing bit of context I want to give, but haven't already, is my view of masculinisation/personality change hypnosis as a whole. What is it? Is it real? Does it work? How much of it is fantasy?

"Is This Kind of Hypnosis Real?"

Well, the answer changes depending on who you ask. My belief is that personality-change hypnosis is not "roleplay" in the sense we usually use that word in kink, so I prefer to think of it as role experimentation. It provides a chance for us to explore the fit of different psyches, mannerisms and thought patterns to our own defaults, which allows us to see how well they might fit.

For this reason, I often think the different masculine roles explored in hypnosis (himbo, jockboy, jock, bull, pup, bro, alpha, beta, slave) are kind of like mental outfits we try on during trance.

Some people feel more strongly than others that "there is only one of these outfits for every person and you must choose", but I take a looser approach than that. In my own trancing, I like to bounce around. I enjoy files that use the Himbo/Pup/Bro/Jock/Bull/Alpha labels all pretty well, with the only types I dislike being the extremely-submissive ones. I have a pretty varied hypno diet for this reason... and to extend the "outfit" metaphor, I kinda feel like a Disney employee who does Tigger for the morning shift and Gaston for the evening parade or something. They're both ostensibly outfits I'm choosing to put on, roles I'm choosing to play. Are either me?

That's a choice we all make for ourselves, I guess - imo, the "self" that we embody is inherently a kind of role, just one we've gotten very practiced at, so I see no reason the the roles we play within hypnosis are less significant. But I won't get into philosophy/psychology here because it's honestly kinda boring and I have no interest in trying to convert anyone into agreeing with me. But tl;dr, this kinda role experimentation does matter, and the roles it allows us to play with are no less real than others we perform socially, professionally, sexually, or etc., outside of hypnosis.

So.

That's enough for now, as an introduction to what I believe in as a tist/subject. In the next post, I'll be talking about what I actually want from hypnosis as well as what I've achieved thus far. And from then on, these posts will be more like status updates on how my own TF journey is going!

this isnt the first time ive been asked for writing tips so im gonna give a lot of info. youre bound to find something useful in this mess

im so sorry but one of my solutions to giving myself confidence in smut-writing was to literally fuck and fuck a lot

after losing my virginity it still wasnt enough experience tbh. so i gave myself room to explore my sexuality and was privileged enough to do it with a partner that encouraged that growth. that experience of fucking sure didnt hinder my smut-writing ability if you know what i mean ;0 but everything else about writing i learned from years of practice. ive been writing since i was in elementary school like id come home from fourth grade and read and write on quotev klsdjfsfj smut writing skills came later post puberty

when i tried writing smut as a virgin i genuinely couldn’t get past the build up. i was fantastic at writing the build up, it was the actual sex part that was hard bcos even tho i had done enough research (i read a lot of porn) it didn’t instill me with enough confidence that i could write it correctly, and so i never did. however! i sure wish i’d committed to it more, so let me see if i can write out some tips that would’ve helped me in the past

(this is just how i write smut, im by no means an expert)

my timeline

the way i write smut is pretty formulaic so i’ll break it down:

hook line ⟹ settings ⟹ build-up ⟹ foreplay ⟹ sex ⟹ ending

☥ hook line. maybe: a dialogue piece to kickstart; an ambiguous line that reels you in; an exciting action. i dont like starting my story with the name/pronouns of a character doing something boring. i.e. “you were getting ready for the day…” idk it’s not the worst thing in the world and we've all done it but just writing out what i try to avoid.

☥ build up is key to me. i have such a hard time reading and writing porn with no plot. i’ll do it sometimes if i like the writer enough, but i rarely write smut without the build up bcos i feel like that’s where the juice is. its whats fun and what you get to play around with bcos the actual sex part of the fic is pretty predictable.

focus on what’s said and unsaid in dialogue between characters. focus on the emotion each of them are feeling and how that emotion manifests into body language.

⟹ dirty talk is not for everyone, but god i love it. literally get nasty with it, this is your writing and we’re all just readin it. build anticipation using dirty talk, make filthy promises, make threats. make your characters talk about the nasty shit they wanna do to each other.

imagine someone you really wanna fuck, imagine the things youd do to them if you had the chance,,, write it into your characters.

☥ foreplay. goes hand in hand with dirty talk, its where the touching starts. decide how you want to play it. who gets oral, who gets fingered. both? one of them? neither and they just go straight to fucking?? i like foreplay, but if youre writing a “quickie” scenario then it may not be in the cards.

lets say it is in the cards tho. so some things to remember:

⟹ foreplay gets the dicks hard. when dicks get hard they leak pre-cum. balls have like no cushion and theyre soft and have little sacks in em that move around. the skin of this genital is often described as velvety bcos its soft. ive honestly never had sex with an uncircumcised penis so i have no idea if there’s a difference between how they feel.

foreplay makes the pussies loose and wet. the inside can be lumpy. it can be ridged or smooth. it can be all kinds of flesh colors like brown and pink.

without the foreplay (which can be verbal communication, or touching of the body or genitals) its a little painful for afabs bcos theyre too tight or too dry. and a flaccid dick is a little unpredictable to try to fit in.

⟹ afabs can have multiple orgasms, amabs are less lucky. afabs can cum and squirt multiple times, amabs can cum multiple times.

⟹ genitals get really sensitive after cumming though. so if you write someone finishing, write out how they might need some time before they finish again or start fucking, or that they get overstimulated getting touched still after they came and that sensitivity is a little uncomfortable.

☥ sex

⟹ changing positions can change angles and hit new pleasurable spots inside pussies.

⟹ probably write a couple different positions during the sex part, just to keep things fresh.

⟹ sprinkle in dirty talk to prolong the sex scene and to avoid sounding repetitive because if youre writing p in v it’s pretty standard to thrust over and over again until youre done. its a lot less glamorous when you spell it out like that, so you gotta add shit to make the sex scene more enjoyable to the reader whos not actively experience the sex.

☥ ending. i usually end the one shot after the fucking is done.

the smut tips

☥ think back to a time you were really turned on. from a show, from a book, something someone said to you, your own sex life, porn you really liked,,, take inspiration from it. use it and channel that own arousal within you.

if youve got a dirty fantasy and it gets you so hot and bothered thinking about it, write that.

if youve got a partner that fucks you crazy good and supplies you with inspo for dialogue or for settings or for scenarios, write that too. theres been a whole bunch on my blog that was inspired by my boyfriend. not everything, but enough to mention it.

also! another thing that people underestimate is the inspiration you take from other blogs. like mine for example, if you like my stuff take inspo from it. study my writing style and you’ll see all kinds of little tips in subtext id never be able to list for you. i do that with other blogs, i dont copy them but i definitely learn little things i like from them and incorporate it into my writing for a more cohesive story. if i take an idea though i ask for their permission & credit them.

☥ the most important tip i can give you is be as self indulgent as possible. youre wasting time worrying about other people. “will they like this? will people think im weird? what if they think im weird for writing this?” fuck that noise. warn accordingly, and go ham. your self indulgence is your best friend. it’ll guide you through all those dirty things you want to say or do to someone, let it take root and write what excites you. chances are you will find your people, and your fic will be set apart bcos it’s so specific to you that people will be drawn to that. and if theyre not? it ends up not being popular? it doesnt matter! because you had fun writing it right? fuck yea u did

☥ the types of words you use are so important. words that invoke a certain emotion or sexy feeling. its difficult to explain but i try my hardest to use “beautiful language” paired with dirty, disgusting, cacophonous language. marry them together so you can convey whether youre “love-making” or “fucking”. i dont like words that dont look or sound good in my head. like when you paint, you probably use colors you like looking at to create the entire picture on the canvas that’s beautiful. so pick out paints that are pleasing to the eyes. the bold ones and the soft ones.

examples of words i dont use cos i hate the way they sound and the way they look: “vagina” and “penis” LMAO

even “butt” isnt a word i like to use. i’ll almost always use “ass” or “backside”

⟹ the smut writer’s dictionary

☥ i keep comedy out of it for the most part, ive never really seem humor added positively into a smut that added to the experience. its usually physical humor stuff like the characters bumping heads or stubbing their toe or something its just cringy to me idk. if i add comedy (i am not good at writing comedy)i put it before the smut. and if you must have some sort of lightheartedness id keep it casual, light, and personal. like an inside joke or something tongue in cheek. you dont have to hide your deepest desires behind humor , you can be serious

☥ your pain tolerance is heightened so run with that. get spanked its fun

more important tips i love and stand by:

☥ call backs are important to me. it’s like if you have something in the future of your fic to be used, try to incorporate it in some small way in your establishing settings or build up. but it’s not as important to others as it is to me. an example would be in my one shot “talk huttese to me”, at the end anakin fucks reader on the tool table. at the very beginning of the fic, when i had reader taking in the surroundings of the “garage bay”, she scanned the drawer stack where she set his broth she brought him, and the tool table he’d later fuck her on. its kinda like,,, foreshadowing (i think?). you’re setting up your reader to be like “?? i wonder why the author thought it would be important to mention the tool table.. wonder if anakin fucks her on it later.” but even if your readers dont react that way, i still think it ties things together nicely

☥ try to write 15-20 mins uninterrupted. create a ritual. i use the bathroom, refill my water, grab a fun drink like sweet tea, put on a silent youtube video (like my ahsoka star wars lofi live i love so much), listen to a playlist of music (preferably music you havent heard before so it can fade into the background. maybe even cultivate a playlist for the vibe youre going for in your story, aids greatly in creating an atmosphere in your writing if youre translating the music in your ears), and turn your phones notifications off (ofc i leave on notifs for calls in case of emergencies, but i can answer my friends’ texts after my writing session). set a timer so you dont have to keep checking the time.

☥ don’t stop in the middle of your storytelling to check the thesaurus or dictionary. write out whatever word/phrase first came to mind and highlight it to come back to later to alter or replace it completely. you’re interrupted your creative flow and its difficult to come back to it when youre checking the thesaurus every five seconds. this hack was crucial to my ability to stay on task i promise you

☥ avoid sounding repetitive by using the same words close together. you’ll create a fuller story by adding to your vocabulary using the thesaurus.

☥ avoid listing actions, break them up with adverbs at the start of your sentences if you must, or description of things or the place your character is in, or explain the emotion your character is feeling or what that emotion is causing within your character. starting sentences over and over again with the character’s name or pronoun breaks up the flow for the reader.

☥ really try to finish your works in progress even if you think its bad, the challenge of it will help you practice and learn to overcome your own mind trying to hold you back

☥ if you dont like the direction your fic is going,,, and youre experiencing writer’s block:: cross out the most recent bit and take it in a new direction. “oh but indy!! i really have a certain goal in mind!!” great, find another way to get to it because youre blocking yourself from finishing this forcing yourself into a non entertaining corner. switch it up! challenge yourself. “but indy!! i really liked what i had for this scene!!” yea but youre blocked right? youre not writing anything else for this scene and you cant, right? if you like what you have for this scene (an action, a dialogue piece youre proud of, a plot twist) save it! use it for a different piece !

omg inspiration for film is a greaaatttt question!!! i kinda want to explore that in main storyline now!!! i think when she was younger, she was a bit more of a quiet kid and was always the english teachers’ fave student bc she was really emotionally intelligent n had great vocabulary and in general a great eye for art n literature, so that academic praise kinda got her into writing stories n watching films, she studied a lot of old hollywood classics n from there she became really interested in film as a whole. i think it became a form of expression for her, since she had kind of a whacky childhood (will uncover more of this in later chaps) i like to think before she applied to college, she wanted to be an english major n become an english teacher but she knew deep down that film was what she really wanted to do and even though her family was reluctant, she went ahead n applied as a film major anyway (btw utokyo is hard to get into for film bc they only have a few spots for their program which is one of the best in the nation so i think she did well for herself :) it’s also why she wants to get into utokyo’s film masters specifically!!)

Hey. I've seen some of your rewrite of Helluva Boss scenes and I really like them. I enjoy how you fixed the issues with the writing and how incredibly spectacular your writing of the improved dialogue within the scenes are.

Honestly, I feel inspired by your work. I have an idea for my own Helluva Boss rewrite where I not only fix issues the show has (ex. tonal shifts, inconsistencies & plot holes, worldbuilding issues, etc), but also integrate my HB OCs into my rewrite (ex. my main HB OC Alice Lola (Ally for short), who is an assassin at I.M.P. and an aspiring writer).

I was wondering if I could ask you this: do you have any advice & tips you could give for who have an idea for starting an HB rewrite, or a rewrite in general? I ask out of curiosity as an aspiring writer myself.

Thank you, im glad you enjoy my rewrites and of course, I can offer up some advice for rewrites;

I think one of the best things in writing a rewrite is that you can use these minor details the piece your rewriting has and use them to you advantage. For example, I noticed that Octavia listens to music whenever she hears her parents arguing or at the dinner table where her parents would be and probably would have at least some awkward tension so from rewriting seeing stars, I use that minor detail to highlight her character and her arc of using music or the moon festival to ignore her problems even though it clearly doesn't help. It also contrast with Loona in my rewrite ignoring her problems that she later acknowledges and the two would open up, closing the character arcs in a nice neat bow. Another would be that Millie is often depicted as either moxxie's wife or a murder machine and from the little time we see with her and her family, I rewrote millie growing up having to be in her sisters shadow and just wanting to be her own person instead as inferior or someone's tool. This would establish why she has a rivalry with her sister while also giving her more character for her to be explored (which we should've gotten from harvest moon tbh), Any details you find in helluva can be a tool for you to explore whether it be for the characters, world etc...

Something that even I learned is that when rewriting, you gotta plan what your gonna do with the characters, with the worldbuilding you establish, with all of these plots/ideas your rewriting. Most of the problems helluva has is because vivziepop didnt plan the show out until season 2 rolled around and if we wanna rewrite the show to be better, we ourselves cant make the same mistakes. If you already started the rewrite however, i suggest you look back on the rewrite your already doing for as much as you can to remember in order to not fall into the same mistake the show itself has

When planning an oc into rewrites, I think the main thing is to ask what are they doing here, what purpose do they serve to the plot and what is their character overall (their motive, personality, character arc, likes, dislikes, relationship with the characters, how they bounce off to the other characters etc...)

As another aspiring writer who has a lot of original stories in the works (there's even an original story inspired by helluva boss and some of my rewrite ideas for it), I think its important to approach criticism as a helpful tool rather than an insult. Especially when its rewrites. I always want whatever I'm writing to at least be of decent quality and is regularly curious of how people would react to my original stories still in the works so receiving it and even given criticism for it can help, you know? Since you have an established audience and them offering criticism can be your tool that you can use to improve. It should be noted though that their is a difference between criticism and personal bias/subjectivity. For example, if someone wanted to point out a plot hole or a mistake in your work, that's criticism you can use. But if someone just tells you to go touch grass for your rewrite or something like that, then its not criticism, that's personal bias/opinion they have of rewrites in general so it offers nothing you can use to improve it.

I’ve been trying to get these thoughts out for days but basically I feel like the unifying theory of s16 (as I see it) is a conscious exploration of the dichotomy between sunny as a classically bold and brash pee pee poo poo comedy and sunny as a thoughtful, nuanced and subtle show about flawed people and also about itself, at times (by that I mean the meta isn’t always about macdennis or the other characters but about sunny itself - win an award, clip show, big mo, etc). the trailer actually captures this dichotomy well through the dialogue clips and animations, as well as the pinned comment which said “get ready for a whole lot of subtlety.” it’s still so baffling to me that sunny can simultaneously read as one of the most loud, obnoxious, unsubtle shows ever on television, OR it can be so subtle and allegorical in the writing of later seasons that most viewers would think people like us are crazy for reading so much into it even though we’re really not. this kind of self-reflective flavor is another product of the rewatch/podcast project which has been almost universally agreed to have had a very positive effect on the writing.

anyway having said that, I want to just share my notes on the first two episodes without trying to edit them too much. I’m bolding the points that I personally haven’t seen anyone else mention yet and putting a 😎 next to ones that evoke a Classic Sunny VibeTM because that’s important to the experiment of this season.

when mac is like “you think we got rid of our furniture too soon/that the business plan won’t work” it’s kinda like no it’s not the committing to what they have, it’s that mac still has big denial problems and dennis can’t work with that… maybe? but so does dennis tbh

in a show-meta sense it’s like, we should be less worried about whether the gay gay-ass love story will alienate people and more worried about how these characters are too ridiculous to even let the love story play out effectively. they need mental health days if we are ever to have nice things

it’s possible mac denying his reaction to the allergy has to do with his body dysmorphia?

also it occurred to me that maybe part of why rob is clean-shaven this season is so they could do those prosthetics more easily?

it’s funny that people are saying this season is such a return to form because it is, but it’s also so much more self-aware of what that form is/was and how deeper elements can coexist within it. they’re really walking with a foot in both worlds here and they’re doing it well. love this for them and for us, the people who know what it’s always sunny in philadelphia is REALLY about

After 23 hours, I finally got this done! 😭

A size comparison between Dragons and their closest animal relatives. So, like, kinda how other primates are to us.

(Also don’t judge the animal’s names. I kinda had to make them up on the spot using different definitions of words I looked up lol. The words in the parentheses are their common names).

Starting from left to right at the largest brown one, here’s some info:

The Dragon:

They are the largest, most physically dangerous, and most intelligent out of all the Draco’s.

They are technologically advanced and live in a society. (Which has its own ways to control any criminals, but that’s for another post lol).

They are the only Draco’s left alive that can actually breathe fire.

They are the only Draco’s that walk almost exclusively on only two legs despite having 8 limbs.

They are also the only ones who have (almost) no “fur.”

The extra spikes are believed to have evolved for self defense against other dragons.

They have also evolved to be pretty much totally fire proof as an evolutionary retaliation against other dragons who’d wanna burn them alive.

Although it isn’t seen, they have 3 meter long thumb claws on their wings… which dragons fear more than the fire tbh.

They also come in the widest variety of colors and patterns. Through evolution, they became so overpowered, that color/camouflage became irrelevant.

The Brawgon:

They are the largest Draco that is not a dragon.

They live within the largest jungle/rainforest on their planet, and have a mostly vegetarian diet.

They have the strongest jaws out of all Dracos, including Dragons. They are so strong in order to crush some hard-shelled fruits n stuff.

They are purple and green to help them blend into the leaves and trees of their niche. (The planet’s main color of plant life is purple and green).

They live in small social groups like Gorillas do.

They, like many of the large Draco’s, have an uncanny ability to mimic voices, and can even form simple sentences if they learn what those words mean. Many early Dragon explorers and hunters have come back home with some tales about magical creatures which mimicked their voices, trying to “allure” them into their traps. Later, dragon scientists found out that these stories were true to an extent. They found that Brawgons hid in the deep foliage and mimicked the voices of Dragon conversations.

The Grimmogon:

They live in a wide expanse of desert like the Seringetti.

They also live in small social groups and often hunt their prey like a pride of lions.

They are arguably the most likely to attack if provoked, and are therefore considered to be the most dangerous Draco that is not a Dragon.

Their diet is mostly meat, and will only rarely substitute with fruits and other plants.

They hunt a variety of animals, including the largest, most armored land animals on their planet.

They are considered the most intelligent Draco that is not a Dragon, and have the best ability to mimic voices.

One individual Grimmogon that was in a rehabilitation center learned not just how to mimic words, but how to form simple sentences of their own, using those words. He knew how to ask for snacks by watching a worker’s child ask for them from her father.

When the Grimm was released, he taught random words to his group.

Other studies have even been able to teach some individuals how to draw simple drawings on rocks, and later, dragon researchers have found them drawing on cave walls.

Some consider the Grimmogons to be on the verge of their own Stone Age. They are the Dragon’s absolute closest animal relative anyway.

The Chittarogon:

They live in one of the most secluded places on their planet: some of the highest mountain ranges. Think the Andes Mountains.

They’re one of the more antisocial Draco’s, and social groups don’t usually have more than 5 members at a time due to lack of resources for larger numbers.

They are mostly carnivorous, but will also eat any berries and such that they can find. They are very opportunistic, and will eat just about anything edible, even an old carcass, which many other Draco’s will not eat.

Because they are so secluded and shy, the least is known about them. And since they’re so rare, it is considered very good luck to be able to see one.

The Friggon:

They live in the far southern regions of their planet, where there is a wide forest that constantly sees snow.

They again are mostly carnivorous, and will go on hunts with their small social group.

They are actually really good ground hunters since a lot of their prey are small, burrowing, rabbit-like animals that can easily see them in the air.

Though, they can and will take down migrating larger prey on occasion.

They can go the longest without food compare to any other Draco, but are also very opportunistic, and will eat carcasses too.

Not a whole lot is known about them either since they are also very secluded.

The Mimigon:

They live in the largest jungle/rainforest in the world as well, and can share territory with the Brawgons.

Their common name are “mimics” because they have evolved to resemble a highly venomous, bird-like animal that shares the same environment.

They are considered to be the most antisocial Draco in the world, and often only come together one on one for mating purposes. The male may stick around till the egg hatches, but will often dip after lol. If not, then the female usually chases him off, and she will raise the baby alone for the next 4 or so years.

They live a life mostly by themselves usually, though there is at least one place where they come together in vast numbers: the largest Dragon city in the world, which lies just within the rainforest.

Despite being so shy, they have become so used to the presence of dragons and their city, that many just straight up live there. They know it’s easy pickings for food and shelter since not many other animals would dare enter a dragon city.

They have become a bit of a pest on the outskirts of said city, and the large numbers of the mimics often result in fights amongst themselves. Resident Dragons are very used to the sights and terrible sounds of Mimic fights in the middle of the night.

It’s not the healthiest dynamic, but they have proven rather hard to get rid of.

The Bellowgon:

They live on tropical islands (like Hawaii), and, unlike their mimic cousins, they are very social, and live in large social groups, up to 500 members at the most.

They are known to be rather noisy, and often make a deep bellowing sound as a way to assert dominance, or intimidate predators.

They eat mostly plants and fruits, but will also eat insects and small animals as well.

Individuals can range from a dull blue, to a bright blue. The brighter the blue, the healthier an individual is, and has a better chance at mating.

The Minnagon:

They live in a high, tropical rainforest, and are perhaps the most social of the Draco’s. They live in large groups that can be up to 1,000 members at most.

They are the smallest living Draco’s on the planet, and spend the majority of their lives in trees, only really coming down to drink or use the bathroom.

They are almost entirely vegetarian, but will sometimes eat insect-like invertebrates.

Their habitat mostly stays the same year round, but they still will do mass migrations to different regions of the rainforest in order to try to find better resources.

Other random info (I may add to it later):

I know that it can’t be seen, but they all have 8 limbs. The small arms are just tucked away and against their chests, so they cannot be seen from this angle. You can probably see what I’m talking about on the Dragon.

Although they are all related, the larger ones with the light colored horns are closer relatives of the Dragons, and the darker colored horns are further away.

Are there any dark fanfiction about Yui that is based on the fact that we are described in detail her suffering in the Sakamaki mansion, which leads to her bitterness as a person and she eventually fights back and takes cruel revenge? Well, or something close to it? I'm just a big fan of angst, where there's a lot of suffering, but in the end everything leads to a good or hopeful ending.

I sure have written some fics like that!

The one where Amaya is Yui's lady-in-waiting that she eventually falls for and kills her (unspecified) husband.

The what if Yui joined the OnS vampire extermination army and met Amaya later fic. The trash dying is like one sentence, but I do explore the idea of Yui having PTSD.

Also coming eventually someday maybe!

"Villainess Isekai" concept where Yui potentially goes dark after hearing Amaya tell her the game plot and realizing the trash kind of indirectly caused Amaya to die and get isekai"d.

The concept I have dubbed "Amayui Alter" for when they go maximum dark mode. This one's the revenge murder deluxe special lol.

Tbh though, I don't usually go into that much detail regarding Yui's suffering because I just don't want to think about it too much anymore to preserve my own sanity ;^^. Balancing that feeling with how much I actually do want to write stuff that addresses it and processes my own pain regarding it is very....difficult to say the least but I think I'm learning to find the compromise there.

Because gdi do I also love angst that just hurts so good and has a fulfilling happy ending, but MAN is it hard to write when the other part of me just doesn't want Yui to be hurting at all.😭😭😭

Well api was super stressed, but he immediately apologizes to Cahaya afterwards and Cahaya says its ok

That doesnt stop Tanah for scolding Api and leading to an argument

Api especially just needed to relieve his stress, one night, he gets his fire

He was thrilled and relieved with it, he played with it and was having so much fun. It calmed him from his nightmares and problems

Fire was fun and entertaining to him

He wanted to explore it more for the next few nights(which is why he knows how to use it later on)

But the fun doesnt stay there forever because of the Fire incidents that happens and the stress and anxiety and fear of people finding out has got him wanting to ignore everybody whenever they ask him if hes ok and or bothering him for what he needs to do

Everything just blew up when the sibs and kokotiam found out. Tanah needing to realize his mistakes and Api realizing and helping himself more. Both of them gaining development and apologizing to one another in the end

Its a whole arc tbh

Nobody asked but I wanted to share anyway, a little bit more about the new stories from This Poll:

The marine biologist and the sea merman

This one is actually a very old story ahsuhsu one of my oldest, actually! I even have art of them posted here when I was much worse at art ahsuhs the two main characters even have stablished designs, that I'm sure I wanna show y'all someday!

Anyway this story has beggining, middle and end and is divided in three main parts. It's a world where mercreatures are things from legends because they purposefully hide themselves from humanity. The merfolk are divided in seven kingdoms, in each kingdom, only one merperson is giant, the Chosen Heir, mers with special powers that are meant to be the rulers and protectors of the seven seas. One of the main characters is a chosen heir from the North Atlantic Ocean called Aegir Sonhavet. He's an young, introverted and kind of naive individual who doesn't understand the true responsibility behind his powers yet. He also feels very isolated.

But the protagonist herself is Caitlyn Brooke, a marine biologist who's studying at a prestigious university by the coast. She loves sailing and decides to go one day alone. Guess what happens? ;)

This story is winning so far so it'll be fun to show a world and characters I'm so familiar with and very attached to <3

2. My own take on a g/t society, high school setting

This is a story of mine that went through SO many changes over the years. I have little stuff written about it, but it has a solid concept. Aaand, catch this: It happens in the same universe as Ethan's, but years later. So yep! This is the hyperon syndrome situation after years of development. A larger percentage of people are giants but the mutation still happens within some humans. So that means most of the giants are still related to the people who retained their human size.

It follows the story of Carol Hopkins, a human who has no mutated DNA in her, which means she'll never become a giant (the syndrome happens to about 20% of the human population). She suffers from Megalophobia due to a trauma from the past.

The story happens when she moves back to her hometown and has to go to a mixed-sizes school, to her dismay. She is the most terrified character I have written yet and I really want to explore the experience of having a phobia, so that's fun.

Oh and she has a childhood friend that became a giant and lied to her that he did so, there's that as well. It's about rekindling connection and dealing with fear, which won't be easy!

3. High school of superpowers with two sizeshifters

This story was my OBSSESSION back at around 2020 - 2021. It's about six characters in a world with superpowers. They study at a high school that has this training program, since everyone in this world develop superpowers at around 19. So we have:

A guy with superstrength

A guy with ice powers

A girl with fire powers (she's the ice guy's rival)

A girl with telekinesis

A girl that can shrink

A guy that can grow

They're all friends but I paired them up. The girl who shrinks is closer to the guy with superstrength, so there's this conflict if she would trust him to handle her with care, considering his power.

The two element friends are rivals and they're in their own little world tbh

As for the guy that can grow and the girl that has telekinesis, they're the main focus and conflict of this story because y'sll know me ahsuhs At the special training exam to awaken their powers, these two are paired up. But the school hides a dark secret, since everyone with superpowers is ranked based on levels of strength. The school oftentimes puts their students in stressful situations so that they can awaken a stronger power.

For these two, they got stuck in a square room, with no exits and no way of escaping. Then the guy starts to grow. Y'all can guess what happens.

They survive, of course, but these two are full of problems now ahsuhs and their budding romance falls apart. So the story is about their reconnection! With the other friends acting as subplots.

4. A spin on Jack and The Beanstalk (or whatever this story was supposed to be)

This one story is very recent, I was using it as writing practice. Since I was very busy, I didn't want to lose the habit of writing, so I created this silly little chaotic story just to spark my imagination and keep the creative juices flowing.

So, little of this silly little idea makes any sense lmao

It follows a girl, who has no name yet, that longed to explore the world outside of her book. She lives in a story book, where there's a fissure in the sky that resembles pages, so she cross through this crack and finds herself tiny in a giant library, filled with books like the one she came from.

Then she finds a Grinder (no idea why I named them this lmaoo), mythological creatures that are basically evil giants like the one from Jack and The Beanstalk. Except... This Grinder is an young man the same age as hers, with a pleasant voice and a handsome appearance, and who's as confused about her existence as she is about his.

The rest is a series of very confusing adventures as this young man goes on a journey to find what the heck a Grinder means, and to see the girl from the book again.

Summary: After Joel and Ellie land in Jackson, Wyoming, Joel spends his first day exploring the town. He finally ends his first night in a bar where you're playing your guitar on stage, and you catch his attention.

It was blistering— the sweaty clothes clung to Joel's body in the summer's heat, making him feel even more depleted. The humid air made it hard to breathe, but that didn't stop the exhausted man from running right up to Tommy and giving him the biggest hug he could manage after arriving in Jackson, Wyoming. Dogs had almost just mauled Ellie, and Joel had nearly lost the only person who had been able to fill that pain that's lingered in his heart for so many years. He was emotionally and physically exhausted.

After finally getting some much-needed food in Ellie and Joel's systems, they both went to clean up— God knows they needed it. For days, Ellie has been pestering Joel to take a shower, and she finally got her wish. Joel walked down the stairs of their newly assigned Jackson home. Ellie caught him off guard, as she had finished getting freshened up first, “Well, don't you look pretty?

“Shut up,” Joel replies sternly, glaring the girl down as he lightly adjusts his new shirt, which seems a tad too small to fit his broad figure, before crossing his arms against his chest. “I'm thinkin' of walking around town for a bit, just to scope the place out, y'know?” he says, looking out the window into the bustling town. “Wanna come with?” he asks, shifting his gaze to Ellie again.

“Nah, I'll pass, old man. I'm gonna go to sleep,” Ellie replies, standing up from her chair before stretching her arms in the air and letting out a yawn.

“Suit yourself then,” he mutters as he looks back out the window, “see you later, kid,” he says as he turns towards the door to walk out.

He could hear Ellie wander upstairs before closing the front door behind him, facing the swarming nature of the town he'd finally found Tommy in. He was still wary of living in a town like this, but he knew it'd be a good thing for both him and Ellie— to be able to live a decently normal life; and hey, maybe Joel could finally get that sheep farm he's been talking so much about to Ellie.

After several hours of just poking in and out of buildings and talking to a few different people who walked the tight roads of Jackson, it turned evening, and the atmosphere was chilly and quiet. The summer's heat had finally retired for the day, and the moon took its turn lightly illuminating the town's buildings.

Joel landed his eyes on one of the only buildings still bustling with people— a late-night bar. He heard the soft sounds of bottles clinking and music playing as he entered the building. He couldn't help but feel out of place; all of these people knew each other, and he knew virtually nobody.

The bartender saw Joel standing there like a lost puppy, snapping him out of his weird trance, “Hey there, what can I get 'cha?” she asked politely as she wiped down the counter with a rag. Joel looks at the woman before walking a few steps towards one of the stools and sitting himself down.

“Just some whiskey,” Joel replies, resting his elbows on the counter and intertwining his fingers. The bartender nods as she reaches under the bar to get a glass and a bottle of whiskey before pouring it.

Several drinks later, Joel's furrowed brows and his shoulders untense— all the weight he'd been carrying the last couple of months finally lifting from his body as the warm liquid flowed throughout his veins. Joel's attention shifts to the environment around him; he's no longer focused on the fact that he almost lost Ellie or nearly died from a stab wound a few weeks back. He was finally able to rest his mind in the bar's atmosphere.

The familiar sound of a song he hadn't heard since before the apocalypse caught his attention. He shifts his gaze to the right of him, looking onto the stage— his eyes land on a woman with dark shoulder-length hair singing into a microphone as she holds a red guitar with a white pickguard. This woman was you; you had managed to get your hands on a guitar on one of your runs with the crew in Jackson, and you were able to convince Tommy to let you play on the bar's stage a couple of nights a week with a few of your friends that you've known for a few years now.

After playing at the bar a few times, Tommy had brought back a few different instruments and asked if you'd be willing to teach some of the kids in Jackson how to play them. You agreed immediately— you've been in love with music since you were a child when your father taught you how to play the guitar for the first time, and you wanted that same experience for the kids living in the town you and your friends found several months back that you all now reside in.

Joel couldn't deny he found you beautiful— the way your hair would fall lightly into your face as you would take small pauses to play your guitar before focusing back on the words of the song you were singing. Not to mention how your fingers seamlessly glided across the neck of the guitar as you played the chords, letting your body melt into the song's mood as you interacted with the few friends you had on stage, playing right along with you.

Tommy sitting on the stool next to Joel’s as he gave him a light tap on the shoulder startled him, to say the least— “Hey man, you enjoyin' yourself so far?”

“Yeah, seems like a nice place you got here, Tommy,” Joel replies, shifting his gaze to his brother before looking back at you, still on stage, now playing a different song than before.

Tommy's gaze follows Joels, landing on you. “That's Ness,” he says, giving a slight nod in your direction before looking back at Joel, who meets his gaze halfway. “You should go talk to her, man.”

“Yeah?” Joel mumbles before taking the last sip of whiskey in his glass and setting it back down. The whiskey made him even more tired than he was when he arrived in Jackson that morning. He felt far too exhausted to try and talk to you now. He told himself he would talk to you the following day; surely he'd run into you, right?

“Best be careful though, she's got some rough edges on her, but she's real nice once you get t'know her.”

Joel nods at Tommy's warning, and after saying his goodnights to Tommy and giving him a pat on the back, he walks out of the bar and heads back to the place he'd now have to practice calling home with the intent to talk to you the next day.
