WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?!

I was indulging my curiosity about low-budget films by researching “Musicland Band” when this happened to pop up in my Youtube recommendations. “Oh cool”, I thought, “another silly kids’ cartoon with living musical instruments. I wonder how stupid this one gets”.

Opening credits say “Based on the short story by Jennifer L Matlik”; never one to let an adaptation come before the source material, I pause the video to Google her.

Guess what comes up? NOTHING. Just some facebook profiles of people with the last name “Matlik”. Confused, I Google around some more before returning to the video. “Directed and animated by Gray West“ pops up next. I search him up; again, NOTHING.

Returning to the video, I take a few seconds to laugh at the bad animation before skipping to the credits; almost everyone involved in the film’s production seems to have the last name Matlik (no one had a Facebook profile, I checked), with the exception of Gray West and one “Mikey DuHack” (again, nothing); and at the very end a card that says “Presented By Syzygy Pictures” pops up, with a link to Syzygy Picture’s website... which DOESN’T EXIST. Googling “Sygyzy Pictures” gets me NOTHING WHATSOEVER HELPFUL, either, just pictures of the astronomical phenomenon known as “syzygy”.

What on EARTH is going on here?! Why is there LITERALLY NO INFORMATION WHATSOEVER available about this thing online?! I swear this feels like the starting point of a creepypasta (the characters definitely look Uncanny Valley enough)!

Being jurgen leitner the day that gerry almost killed him was probably really surreal. Imagine you’re minding your business, collecting fucked up books, and out of nowhere this goth guy covered in eye tattoos shows up and beats you half to death, then stops, goes, “no you’re too pathetic to be jurgen leitner” and leaves without further elaboration. And you dont correct him, you like being alive after all, and after that you just… continue with your life. And then several years later you tell this to some random guy in the tunnels you’ve been hiding in, and he not only knows who the goth was, but seems somewhat fond of the goth. And then you get brutal pipe murdered by the random guy’s boss. Oops

god I hope so, I desperately want to see Briar Valley and whatever family member they throw at us. and if it's Baul I hope he's the exact same sprite but with, like, a mustache crudely pasted on. that's how he looks in my head and in my heart.

my entire KINGDOM to see one or both of Sebek's parents though, they are the best characters in all of Twst and they haven't shown up even once. 😭 though I think I might prefer his dad, because 1) show me the noodley dentistman, and 2) Mrs. Z is such a mythical figure in my mind at this point that reality could never compare (w-what if she gets a canon design and she isn't a hundred feet tall and could crack the earth by flexing her thighs, how could I go on) (jk jk she's so great that I would love her no matter what) (but also...)
