Tina is my favorite character when I project as I was. She's honest and kind. Tina loves her family unconditionally. She's sweet and she genuinely believes in the best of people.

On the flipside, Tina can be clingy and stalkery. I also don't like how Tina can have a "better than you" vibe. Like Louise, I get rebellious and spiteful if someone else tries to tell me what to do.

Teddy is my favorite character when I project as I am. He's loyal and steadfast. Teddy is so helpful and he just wants people to be happy. Even through his own pain, Teddy tries to support others.

On the flipside, Teddy can be extremely abrasive and hypocritical. He can be annoying and stalkery. I don't like seeing myself in that behavior, even if it can be genuinely realistic for someone who has spent so much of their life abandoned and alone.

Oh! And when writing, do you tend towards present or past tense?

Depends on what I’m writing tbh.

I’m not exactly a whiz with words, despite what my semi-formal, kind of old-timey manner of speaking (and, I suppose, typing as well) would suggest, so I really don’t write very often unless I have to for one of my classes. Because I’m almost exclusively writing for academic purposes, I’m writing all essays, which means I’m going to choose whichever tense best conveys whatever idea I need to convey.

Whenever I DO try my hand at creative writing (this does not occur often because as I said above, I kinda suck at it), I tend to inadvertently switch between the two tenses as I write. Idk why this happens, but it’s a real pain when it does because I have to spend FOREVER going back through my work and fixing everything. I usually choose to edit everything to be in the present tense because it tends to flow better.

ooohoohoo what a fun question :-) apologies for the very long post incoming. i hope you enjoy it if you read it! and let me know if you have further questions or want to know more. ANYWAYS. i haven't fully settled on anything, but i can lay out the basics. i really want to stay true to what i imagined as a child, which was this: a big mansion in the woods. don't ask me which woods. from the outside it's mostly wooden and not extremely tall, but it is extremely wide. I would give it maybe 4 floors (not including an attic or basement). it's not exactly a literal building to me, though. I think it can gain new rooms and features at the big man's will. it would definitely Appear bigger on the inside, like a tardis. it opens into a gigantic center room which is mostly empty, save for a chandelier and two staircases at the back (one leading up and Left, the other leading up and Right) and mayyyybe a rug or a coatrack. this first floor houses all common areas like the kitchen, dining room, living room(s), and a medical center. on some days, the place can feel abandoned. you would enter to no one in the common room, and no noise. on other days, children are playing videogames on the tv and fighting over the controllers, people are being rushed in and out of the medical center, and clanging can be heard in the kitchen all at once. it depends.

up either staircase is hallways. hallways upon hallways upon hallways. i imagine they create a rectangular shape, running around the entire building, in order to provide access to hundreds of rooms for hundreds of residents. these hallways and the doors within them are made of some sort of grungy wood. all rooms have a number, most have a nameplate, and some have door decoration. the big man certainly has an office. somewhere. if you are needed, or making a very convincing plea for entry in your mind, a door will just appear to you. it's impossible to find it on your own. slenderman is not always in his office, of course, but that's all the more reason to keep it hidden.

I could get into more character specific things, or how the inhabitants function as a family of sorts. but. i have already talked too much

I did go through a short 'dolphin kid' phase as a young child, before the roadkill phase. You know those dolphin statues that you could find in any gift shop no matter where you were on holiday? I had a few :)

i need ghoap frantically making out against a door finally taking the leap on their feelings. need ghost grinding against soap, expecting to find him just as hard as him, only to feel nothing

and in all his wisdom and experience, he concludes soap was tortured and never told him

he’s trying to think of a delicate way to say he understands, that he’s been through it and it doesn’t change anything about how he feels (and who the fuck touched him so he can hunt them down and rend them limb from limb)

Refuge

Danny was not retired, technically he came when people needed him, he helped or protected them as the case may be. It just turned out that over the years they stopped needing him.

And that was fine, it meant humanity could take care of itself, it meant they were safe. That was what had to matter, no matter that deep down, the halfa was hurt by the information.

It was harder to accept change when you weren't part of it. Danny was immortal, eternal, and powerful, things that no longer fit the world. Not with all the heroes and wizards running around, not with Amity Park fading away, becoming nothing more than a part of his memories.

He fit in perfectly in the Realms, sure, but he knew that if he stayed there too long he'd stop feeling human, and that was dangerous.

So, no, Danny wasn't retired. But he lived in a simple house in Metropolis, though sometimes he got tired of Superman being able to hear literally everything and moved to his house in Fawcett. He used to switch between the two houses frequently, not that it was difficult since he had figured out how to make portals.

He had a few friends, like the orphan boy who lived at the train station and Conner, a teenager who sometimes just needed a house to stay in when he couldn't stand his father.

Neither Conner nor Billy minded his age, which was comforting, although they both got curious when he visited the other house. Danny didn't know how to explain that Eternity Rock and Superman made him nervous if he stayed too long (he didn't like feeling watched), so he just shrugged and told them he had two houses.

Neither of the kids understood but they accepted it. They both had a habit of calling him "Uncle", Danny thought it was odd, given that his appearance wasn't exactly...adult, but it seemed they were comfortable with that, and he left them alone.

Apparently his house (occupied or not) had become a haven for them. Danny always greeted them with a sandwich, or cookies, even though he felt like a grandmother doing so. He smiled for the first time in years, feeling happy to fit into someone's life.

That's why it was quite disconcerting to find the Justice League outside his door asking him to join them. Danny chuckled internally, because the current heroes actually believed they could force him into something, but he accompanied them anyway.

Superboy and Captain Marvel scowled at the League as soon as they entered the Watchtower, when they were told they were bringing in a "dangerous individual" they didn't expect to see their unofficial uncle.
