How Wednesday must’ve felt like waving back, hitting Enid with that king Baldwin pose

After the Hyde situation Wednesday learned a few things one of them being to always trust Enid’s judgment no matter what when Enid says something’s off about someone it’s probably worth paying attention to Wednesday doesn’t know if it’s some werewolf power she was unaware of or if Enid is part psychic but whatever it is it’s very useful in most situations

The Hug™️ is so interesting from Enid's perspective because she's been incredibly careful not to step over Wednesday's boundaries (like she isn't a pushover she gives wednesday snark but) enid never touches her when she doesn't want or makes her talk about her feelings, she's defending her to everyone and even coming back after life threatening danger. Then, just before her closest friend leaves school forever (with no way of getting in contact), enid goes for a hug which wednesday accidentally flinches out of.

So Enid thinks she's never gonna see or hear from wednesday ever again but still is immediately ready to throw down her life (before she even knows she can wolf out) for her upon hearing shes in danger and she almost DIES fighting a murder creature for wednesdays sake.

Finally, after everything is over she sees Wednesday and immediately hugs her because she literally cant stop herself.

But then there's the awful second where enid pulls back and like looks guilty because even after the emotional turmoil of thinking Wednesday had tried to kill her and then thinking Wednesday was gone forever then that wednesday was dead and even after she laid down her life to protect Wednesday shes still worried about overstepping boundaries because she cares so fucking deeply

Like if Wednesday didn't like her and hug her back this would have been the most tragic scene of television of all time ever because enid would literally do anything for her.

In Wednesday S2 our favourite girls realised that bedtime cuddles work really well for their shared PTSD following the Crackstone night.

After a couple of days Wends says “I have read that to calm newborn babies skin on skin contact is preferred, maybe that would work for both of us to speed up our recovery?”

Enid: “S-so y-you are saying we should take our clothes off Willa?”

Wends: “Yes Enid all of them to gain the maximum benefit. I can get the scientific papers to prove it to you if you would like.”

Enid: “So are you saying this is just science to you?”

Wends, smiling very very slightly: “Yes Enid. Science.”

Enid, ripping off her bra: “I fucking love science.”

Wednesday: Enid! Don��t go near that thing, you have no idea what it could be capable of. It’s in this facility for a reason.

Enid: Aww, but it’s so cute, Willa! *speaking to the orange blob* Oh, I wish I could take you home, YOU’RE SO PRECIOUSSSSSS!!!!

Wednesday: Enid, keep your voice down! I’d much rather not have to deal with those soldiers we saw coming in.

Enid: Oh come on, Wednesday! You have to admit it is super cute. I’m sure it can’t be too harmful. Besides, the sign said it was safe, and it’s so cuddly!

Wednesday: *suddenly entranced by the SCP creature* Hmm, well… it is intriguing… and quite… cute…

✨Teaser: In Technicolor✨

So some of you may know this, but my next fic that was set to release was originally called “Ballad of a Teenage Dream” and was a Wednesday x Skam crossover that showcased all the highs and lows of high school and the growing pains that come with the transition from teenager to young adult.

Well that story has been reworked, overhauled, and given new life.

I present to you my high school dramady, In Technicolor.

Set in Los Angeles, California, the story follows two groups of friends as their worlds collide. A modern spin on the social dynamics of Romeo and Juliet where two factions are warring but cannot remember why or why their bitter rivalry is so important to their identity, In Technicolor highlights the feuding of the wealthy and the everyday citizens to show the consequences that come from stripping culture and history from the city streets in the name of gentrification. It explores the complex relationships of families on either side of the fence to reveal that wealth does not always bring happiness. And finally, at the center of it all, the complicated friendships and relationships of the members of these two groups as they meld into one.

For our East LA champions, we follow the Addams siblings and their mismatched group of skateboarders, graffiti artists, musicians, and street racers.

For our Palisades elite, we focus on the Blossoms and Galpin’s—two families from extreme wealth that are not entirely honest about what they show the world.

Important Story Information: If the visuals were not enough to give it away, this story will be a crossover with a different fandom. Entering the mix is the ensemble from Riverdale. I do want to caution readers now, there will be crossover pairings, character retcon on both sides, ageing up, ageing down, and changes to character personalities.

One such example is that Wednesday isn’t allergic to color and isn’t entirely unapproachable. She smiles and laughs but only when around those she trusts like her family and friends. Pugsley has been aged up and is Wednesday’s twin brother. My face claim for this version of Pugsley is Xolo Mariduẽna and I have made Pugsley (who also will be going by “Lee”) more confident and hotheaded with some snark and sass. Second to that, my face claim for Pubert “Bertie” Addams is Malachi Barton and Pubert/Bertie will be one year younger than his siblings—the twins Wednesday and Pugsley age 17 and in their senior year and Bertie age 16 entering his junior year.

On the Riverdale side of the crossover, I have made certain changes that I don’t want to reveal just yet for Archie’s character. That surprise will come soon enough because next I will be posting moodboards for specific couples that will be at the center of this story. But one change I will discuss now to get it out there to avoid hate comments and harassment is the issue of is Cheryl bi or is she a lesbian. In my story, she’s bi and will be paired with a male lead. I understand that the actress for her character went back and forth on Cheryl’s orientation but, to me, Cheryl reads like a chaotic bisexual that goes back and forth on her identity because being bi is confusing enough. And as someone who is bi, I would like to see more representation and fiction for people like myself because fandoms are so quick to erase bisexuality and pansexuality and criticize us when we speak up about it. So in this story, Cheryl is bi and she has broken up with her most recent girlfriend before meeting her next partner who is a man. And it’s fine.

If this upsets you, just swipe off of this post. Don’t leave mean comments or take digs at me because I’m not for any of this fandom infighting nonsense. It’s fiction and these characters can be whatever you want them to be in your stories.

Given that wednesday is told from Wednesday's perspective i think there's a really interesting parallel between affection and being trapped, except when it's about enid.

Even in the opening car scene, which uses lots of claustrophobic angles to show how Wednesday feels about her parents loving each other, there's this idea that wednesday feels trapped by loving and caring.

when her family hug her they physically have to (with no reciprocation) wrap their arms completely around her, and so does xavier when he tried to save her life.

when she tries to help/be kind to rowan he mentally pins her to a tree, when the nightshades try to reach out to her they tie her up with rope and even in the tyler kiss she's leaning away and being stopped by his arm.

talking to her therapist is seen as a prison she has to escape from and the only time she trusts ugene (to keep watch at pilgrim world) she ends up stuck in a shed with the only door blocked by an angry pilgrim.

tyler needs restraining by shackles in a cave when he is "learning to love" his master through stockholm syndrome and xavier, gomez, morticia and wednesday herself all end up in prison because they cared and showed kindness.

All of this shows that trusting caring and loving are seen as prisons by wednesday but then...

when enid leaves the dorm and leaves Wednesday alone she is seen hugging her knees, gripping them tightly, restraining herself which i think shows that she sees enid and being close to enid as freeing, a sentiment enid repeats back when she returns to the dorm, listing reasons that wednesday didn't like her and saying she wouldn't apologise for them (freeing herself from caring about other peoples perception of her).
