Winter is hell for people with depression, so now as the weather starts to get warmer, start getting out there. Go on leisurely strolls around the neighborhood or wherever. Even if you just walk for a few minutes, it’s enough to get the serotonin brewing, and sunlight is good for improving mood as well.

Are you like me, and get anxious on walks? Carry your cell phone with you, and by all means turn back and go home if you’re feeling anxious. Maybe give yourself a reevaluation point. “I’ll go to that tree and see how I’m feeling.” And don’t feel bad if you choose to turn back. There’s always plenty of time for a walk, it’s not like you’re never going to get to go for a walk ever again, right? So don’t beat yourself up over it.

This winter has been really tough on me mentally, and I can’t wait for it to be hot and sunny again. And I hope all of you can get out there and start feeling better along with me. 🥰

Walking Alice in the park wrapped up in my hand knit green scarf. A breeze coils itself through the trees, pulling the burning leaves into the air. I watch them drop into the water below as I cross the bridge. I’ve been surrounded by death these past months and it makes me think.
