I stopped using my insty account as my daily diary a long long time ago having decided, for some ridiculous reason, that work and play must be kept apart. The fact that I work almost every day and that 'play' isn't actually something I consider to be separate from work makes that decision increasingly redundant. Not to mention the fact that I miss seeing the markers of my life on my online diary. Most especially the seasons as they change. Also, more recently, I remembered why I made that move from my blogspot diary. Instagram reminded me of my dear Mother and her Polaroid camera. That feeling of capturing a moment on here is literally instant, but even in the 1970s waiting 5 minutes for the picture to process in its little metal sleeve was pretty instant compared to waiting several weeks for the chemist to develop them. It was a triumph of technology in the 1970s just as instagram is a triumph now. A moment being set down so it can't escape or be forgotten. When I see fields of barley, I imagine that I am alone reflecting on life. When I see barley together, I see that barley plants grow together and that in a barley field, all plants grow together and share nutrients. I have been thinking: Why is humanity not united? Why do some people care about their ego and prefer to harm others? If we were like barley plants we would be in a better world where we would all be united to face the problems, but unfortunately we have politicians who are more concerned about themselves than about us and have been elected to help the people, and you may ask, how can this reality change?
