A sad yet equally intriguing find while walking the shore today; a partially skeletonized mallard duck with an unlaid egg still entirely intact within its body. So amazing the egg has survived long enough for the body to be reduced to bones. Also surprising that a scavenger hasn't made off with the egg yet.

It's weird how going on walks is so refreshing for other people.. and it's something that makes me tired af. Every time i go for walks i get so tired, and that tiredness can last for the whole day.
When my family goes for walks they feel "refreshed and more awake" as they say. However i just get tired and feel like laying in my bed for hours upon hours. So when i actually go for walks, i mostly do it in the afternoon.
What about you? does going for walks mak you tired as well or is it just me?

I went for my forest walk last evening. Temps in the low 40s. The trails were deserted. The connector trail is spooky when you're alone in the late evening.
Then the tiny night musicians start playing their evening song. When I hear them croaking and chirping, I feel comforted.
Two barred owls were talking to each other.
Went home and started a supper of sausage and egg noodles, biscuits and peas; all cooking and warming the kitchen. This is food that has a deep memory. This is what you eat when you are cold.
