When you arrived at Robin’s house, you walked to the front door and knocked as Robin opened the door and smiled, grabbing one of the bags you were holding in your hands and walked inside as you walked in behind him. “You scared me for a second, I thought your dad was there or something.” he said to you as you widened your eyes, setting the bag down on the kitchen table. “He was there, I had to get that asshole Vance Hopper to pretend to be my friend so my dad wouldn’t notice me.” you said as Robin furrowed his eyebrows.
“And how did you manage to get that puta to help you?” he said as he pulled out a chocolate bar from the bag and opened it, taking a bite of it. You shrugged as you grabbed a bag of chips and opened it up, eating a few. “I gave him a couple quarters because he ran out of them for his game.” you told him as he laughed a little and nodded. “You’re feeding into his addiction I see.” he said jokingly and you slapped his arm, giggling. “No I’m not, I was trying to save my own ass from my father.” you said to him as you both giggled and went up to his room to watch a movie.
Robin was a lucky kid when it came to his family life. His mom was an angel from heaven practically and his dad was a really hard worker who cared a lot about his family. Robin was one of the only kids you knew who had a television in his room, his dad had given it to him on his birthday last year and he was sooo excited when he told you about it. All he talked about that whole day was how you guys could watch all the horror movies you could dream of in his room now instead of the living room.
When you two got up to his room, you went and sat on his bed with your bag of chips and kicked your shoes off into the floor as you covered your legs up with his comforter. “So what do you wanna watch? Carrie? The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?” he asked as he looked through his movies on his shelf. Of course, he was only listing out his favorite ones, so you shook your head as you ate some more of your chips. “I wanna watch ‘Let’s Scare Jessica To Death’.” you told him as he sighed and threw his head back dramatically. “Ugh why.” he said as he grabbed the movie disk and slid it into his movie player.
You smiled as he came and sat back down next to you and you put the chips in between the both of you. “Because this movie is so much better than your new gore movies, those are just nasty.” you told him as he shook his head and you two began to watch the movie.
About an hour into the movie, his mom came into his room and peeked her head in the door. “Mijo, your friend is here.” she said to him as he nodded and hopped up to go downstairs to get his friend. His mom smiled at you as you smiled back and waved at her. “Hi Mrs. Arellano.” you said to her as she waved back at you and walked into his room to see you. “Hola Amado.” she said as she sat on his bed in front of you and looked at your cheek as she frowned, seeing the light bruise on it from yesterday. “Oh honey.. I’m so sorry about your papa,” she said as she rubbed your cheek lightly, trying not to put any pressure on the bruise. “It’s okay.” you said as you smiled a little, trying to reassure her that it was okay.. even if it wasn’t okay, you weren’t one to open up to people.
“We really should get authorities involved next time Amado, this is getting out of hand.” she said to you as you nodded your head, not wanting to argue with her. “I’ll make sure to tell them next time, if there is a next time.. I’m sure he’s not going to continue doing it.” you told her (lying), as she nodded her head. Robin walked back up the stairs and into his room with Finney as you smiled when you saw him and patted the spot on the bed beside you for him to sit down. “I’ll let you kids have fun now,” Mrs. Arellano said as she stood up from the bed and looked at Robin. “No hagas mucho ruido después de las nueve, tu padre tiene trabajo por la mañana, amor.” she said to him as he nodded his head, sitting down next to you and Finney sat on your other side. “Okay mamá, te amo, duerme bien.” Robin said as Mrs. Arellano smiled and kissed his cheek before walking out of his room and shutting the door to his room.
“I’m happy you could come, I didn’t think you were going to.” you said to Finney as he grabbed a few chips from the bag and smiled, nodding his head. “Yeah, I told my dad it was for a project so he decided to let me come.” he told you as Robin laughed. “Both of you guy’s parents think we’re doing a project right now when we’re actually just watching a horrible horror movie.” Robin said as you slapped his arm, widening your eyes. “This movie is good, you’re just a sucker for blood which I've got to say is a bit abnormal, you’re gonna kill someone one day.” you said to him, jokingly, as he giggled and shoved you. “The only reason I would kill anyone is for you.” he said as Finney faked frowned at him. “Fuck you too.” he said to Robin as all three of you laughed.
For the next few hours, the three of you watched movies and talked, eating all the snacks you had previously bought from the Grab N’ Go earlier in the day. Finney fell asleep next to you as you and Robin continued talking about whatever came to mind. “It’s so weird that your dad didn’t notice you in the store today, it’s shocking honestly.” he told you as you nodded your head. “Yeah, I’m really thankful that he didn’t though. If it wasn’t for Vance today then my ass would’ve been torn as soon as he saw me.” you said to him as he nodded a little, clearly in a more ‘serious’ state than before.
“I’m really sorry that he hit you yesterday Cariño, you didn’t deserve it.” he said to you as you looked down at the sheets of his bed, messing with the wrinkles on them with your fingers tips. Robin was the only person who you ever let your guard down around, and whenever you were in a state like this, he knew that you needed to be comforted. He wrapped his arms around you as you blinked away a few tears and laid your face in his neck. “I just hate him.” you told Robin quietly as he nodded and caressed the back of your head with his hand. “I know Cariño, I know.” he said as he held you in his embrace. After a while of laying with Robin as he hugged you tightly, you fell asleep in his arms as he drifted off to sleep just a few moments later.
The morning after the sleepover, you all three ate breakfast before you left to go home for the day. You wanted to stay and hangout, since it was Saturday and you had nothing else to do, but you knew your dad would be upset if you didn't come home early. When you got home, you walked inside almost silently as you took your shoes off by the door and looked in the living room as you saw you dad sitting on his chair, sound asleep with about three beer bottles on the side table next to him. You sighed in relief when you saw he wasn’t awake, and walked to your room, shutting your door quietly before setting your bookbag down on the floor. You hopped onto your bed and grabbed the book you had been reading, which you got from the library, off your nightstand and started reading chapter after chapter so you would have something to do.
About two hours into reading your book, your dad knocked on your door and walked in as you looked over at him. You were scared of what he was going to say to you, or maybe even what he was going to do to you.. but then again you hadn’t done anything. “When did you get home?” he asked as you shrugged your shoulders. “Not too long ago, like two hours maybe.” you said, trying not to sound scared as he nodded his head. “Well, I need you to go to the Grab N’ Go and pick up my pills, I would but I have a bad headache.” he said as you nodded and shut your book, standing up and putting on your old tennis shoes. “I’ll go.” you told him as he nodded and walked out of your room. “Don’t be too long.” he said as he walked down the hall.
Once you left to go get his pills, you walked to the Grab N’ Go and walked inside once you got there. You saw Vance playing on the pinball machine once you walked in and rolled your eyes, walking to the register to ask for the pills for your dad. Vance must’ve literally had no life, every single time you went to the Grab N’ Go he was there doing the same exact thing. “How can I help you?” the lady behind the counter said as you told her your father’s name and that you were there to get his prescription. She nodded and walked into the back to get his medication as Vance walked over to the counter with a ten dollar bill to exchange for more quarters.
He looked over at you and furrowed his eyebrows some, “How come I always see you here now?” he said as he put the bill on the counter. You looked over at him and shrugged your shoulders, “Well the first time you saw me here it was to run away from those douchebags that you stopped from fighting me, the second time was to get snacks, and this time is to pick up my dad’s medicine because he’s too lazy to come get it himself.” you said to him as the lady walked back to the counter and handed you the bottle of your dad’s pills. You nodded your head as a ‘thank you’ as she took Vance’s ten dollar bill and started counting out the quarters for him out of the cash register.
“Oh, you should’ve told him to get it himself then.” he said as he watched the lady count out the quarters, making sure she was counting them correctly. You nodded your head, watching her count them too. “It wasn’t that big of a deal, if I told him to get them himself I would be a goner.” you told him as the lady handed him the quarters. “Well then you mine as well be a goner, if you can’t stick up for yourself then what’s the point of being here in this stupid town anyways. Fighting is the biggest thing here it feels like.” he said as he counted the quarters in his hands.
You nodded as you watched him count the quarters. “Yeah, well I don't fight, I just bitch at people and piss them off, then Robin fights them for me.” you said proudly, bragging about your best friend. “Well that’s dumb.” Vance said as he looked back at you, “One day you’re gonna need to know how to fight and you’re not going to be able to since your boyfriend fought all your battles for you.”
“First of all, he’s not my boyfriend,” you said to him as you rolled your eyes, “and secondly, I won’t ever need to fight my ‘own battles’ as long as I have Robin, and he’s not going anywhere.” you told him as he scoffed. “Yeah, and that’s why you almost got your ass beat a few days ago. Where was Robin then?” he said. You furrowed your brows at him, “Shut up, I still didn’t get hurt.” “Yeah thanks to me.” he said as he started walking back over to the pinball machine.
You shrugged your arms, beginning to walk out of the store as you heard Vance grunt from the pinball machine and kick it hard. “Piece of shit! Why isn’t it working!?” he yelled as the lady behind the register came over to the machine to look at it. “I don’t know.. we’ll have it looked at soon I guess, I can’t fix it myself.” she said as he deathstared her before walking out of the store. You laughed a little to yourself as you walked out behind him, maybe he would have to do something other than play that game now. He walked around the side of the building and went to the back of the Grab N’ Go as you furrowed your eyebrows, following behind him to see where he was going.
When you got back there, you saw him lean his back against the wall of the building as he pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and pulled a lighter out of the other pocket, lighting up the cigarette as he inhaled it into his mouth. “What are you doing?” you asked him as he looked over at you with an annoyed look on his face. “Don’t you have anything better to be doing then following a guy behind a Grab N’ Go?” he asked annoyedly. You shrugged your shoulders as you walked over to him, “Don’t you have anything better to be doing then walking behind a Grab N’ Go?” you said to him as you watched him inhale his cigarette again.
“No.” he said as he exhaled the smoke in your direction. “It’s Saturday, I have nothing to do all day.” he said as you nodded and sat on the concrete beside him. “Me neither, so therefore, I can follow whoever I want behind any Grab N’ Go today.” you said as you looked up at him, squinting your eyes at the brightness of the sun. He nodded and sat down next to you, holding the cigarette out in your direction as an offering to you if you wanted to smoke it. You took it from his hand, inhaling it as you blew the smoke out and handed it back to him. “This week has been so long.” you ranted to him as he looked over at you and nodded. “I assumed that it was a long week for you after I saw your bruise yesterday.” he told you as you looked down at the ground, trying to make your bruise less visible.
“There’s no point in hiding it now, I've already seen it.” he said as he hit his cigarette again before putting it out on the ground and stepping on it with his shoe. “It was from me falling off my bike, nothing more.” you said to him as he nodded. “You fell off your bike, yet your knees are completely unscratched and bruised.” he said as he looked at your legs. “And your hands have no cuts on them, if you actually fell off your bike then you would’ve tried to not hit the ground too hard and your hands would’ve gotten beat up.” he said as he looked back at you. You sighed a little as you nodded, knowing you couldn’t convince him it was from a bike crash anymore.
“It’s okay, my dad hits me too.” he told you as you furrowed your brows looking at him. “How did you know that’s what it was?” you asked him. There could’ve been many things other than it being your dad hitting that left the bruise on your face.. how did Vance know it was because of him. “I saw that way you were looking at your dad when he was leaving here yesterday, you looked terrified. I’m assuming that’s the reason why.” he said as you nodded your head. There was no reason to lie to him now. “Yeah, it just sucks. I didn’t want him to get mad at me for being here yesterday, I was supposed to go to Robin’s straight after school.” you said to him as he nodded. “Well screw him, you weren’t doing anything bad, you were just getting snacks.”
You nodded your head and looked at the time on your watch as you widened your eyes a little and hopped up. “I gotta go, he’s gonna kill me if I'm late bringing this home.” you told Vance as he nodded and hopped off the ground too. “Come back here tomorrow if you get the chance and we can smoke back here again.” he said to you, shocking you. Vance Hopper is inviting you to smoke with him? What in the world is going on..
You smiled and nodded your head. “I’ll try my hardest to come.” you said as you waved at him, walking around to the front of the building and walked back to your house. When you got there, you gave your dad his pills and went back into your room, beginning to read your book again before eating dinner and going to sleep.

"What are you drawing?"
As a particularly familiar voice greets your ears you look up, your attention stolen away from your sketchbook. It was your boyfriend who was currently hanging out with you. At the moment he seemed to be watching you draw, looming over your shoulder. In any other circumstance this would likely seem intimidating but he was your boyfriend no matter how scary he accidentally was sometimes.
"A killer from this one new horror movie I saw - Texas Chainsaw Massacre I think? It's pretty cool. I'm drawing Nubbins, the weird hitchhiker dude." You explain, the tips of your mouth being pulled into a careful smile. You didn't often talk this much about your drawings but you knew Vance was genuinely curious, even if he had no idea what you were drawing half the time. He liked horror movies but he wasn't an avid fan like you were. Plus you liked books more than movies, and books weren't really Vance's thing.
"Oh, I heard about that I think. I thought you liked books though?" Vance questioned, watching the careful movements of your pencil on paper with interest. His question made you giggle a little which earned you a small glare in return.
"I do, it just seemed interesting. I can still watch movies, y'know. I did draw Carrie earlier today, though. The girl from that one book by Steven King? She was bullied a lot and got pigs blood dumped on her at prom, went absolutely crazy?" You tried your best to explain the book in hopes your boyfriend would understand but he simply stared blankly, his mouth pushed into a frown. You tried your best not to giggle but Vance looked so much less intimidating while he was confused you couldn't help but find it a little cute.
He didn't find it as amusing as you did. Instead he huffed and rolled his eyes. "I'm not a nerd like you, I don't read every book that I see." He shot back despite nothing being said in the first place.
"I think you'd actually like reading. If you weren't on that pinball machine all day, I mean. I swear you like it more than me." You joke. This seems to spark some amusement in Vance. He laughs, and you laugh in return. Even so, he's quick to defend himself as always.
"I do not! You might as well love your books more, you stare at them more than you stare at me." He playfully pushes your shoulder which may have been a little too hard but you know he means nothing by it. You decide to drop the subject and turn the page to the drawing of Carrie you had finished before Vance came over. It was the scene where Carrie was dying at the end and Sue found her. You liked that scene a lot, it was nice to know Carrie died knowing Sue didn't hate her.
Vance stares at the drawing, his brows furrowed. "What's going on in it?" Oh. You had forgotten he wasn't aware.
"Carrie, the one dying, is kind of reading Sue's mind before she dies. She finds out Sue didn't actually hate her and didn't know what was going to happen at prom. I just like the scene, I don't know." You shrug, dismissing everything else you'd like to say about the book. While you're practically obsessed with it you know Vance doesn't really care for books at all, so you decide not to bore him about it. To your surprise he inquires more about it, anyway.
"What's the rest of the book about?" He seems genuinely interested, his gaze fixed on the drawing as he stares at every part, every detail. You hesitate for a second before answering briefly.
"This girl, like 17 or 18 I think, is bullied at school for being really sheltered by her mom. She doesn't really know a lot and is just kind of an outcast, I guess." You watch Vance's expression and surprisingly he's still listening, waiting for you to continue. You do. "Anyway, Sue gets Tommy to take her to prom so she can have a good time and live her life like an actual person. Her mom's super religious though so she didn't like it but Carrie went anyway. Another group of people poured pigs blood on her while they were crowned queen and queen."
Vance seemed as though he were in thought for a moment before he quickly fixed his expression. "It sounds okay, I guess." He shrugged and tapped his fingers against his arms. He normally fiddled with his pocket knife but you had recently asked him not to do it around you, it often made you nervous. He was understanding, and you knew he would be. Vance was without a doubt scary but you were his boyfriend, he wasn't going to scare you. Not with any harm, anyway.
Instead Vance had a habit of simply sneaking up on you or showing up behind corners while you were distracted. He still took joy in being an absolute menace, unfortunately. You're taken away from your thoughts as your boyfriend takes your pencil from your hand and more carefully takes your sketchbook. You allow him, you knew he had no malicious intent.
Often times when he took your sketchbook he simply wanted to look through it or occasionally doodle. This time it seemed as though he were trying to copy your drawing of Carrie right beside your own. His lips were pressed together and his brows furrowed as he focused, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly more when he messed up and had to erase his mistake. You weren't sure if he was frustrating himself until he threw the pencil down onto the bed and looked at you with a proud grin.
You take your attention away from Vance and look at his copy of your drawing. A small smile is placed upon your face as you study it. It really wasn't that good, but Vance was proud of it and it certainly was a bit better than it normally was. If your drawing wasn't right there you'd be able to guess it was Carrie. Had he been practicing or something?
"You have some competition, now." Your boyfriend boasted, his arms crossed as he looked down at your sketchbook and then back up to you. You snort, shaking your head a little in disbelief. "Clearly. Stop practicing, i'm supposed to be the artsy one in this relationship, that's my job. Not yours."
Vance let out a laugh at your response. "Maybe I will take your place. Be careful." You rolled your eyes in attempts to show your false lack of approval but the smile plastered onto your expression proved otherwise. You couldn't believe it, before you had dated Vance you would've assumed the most artsy thing he was interested in was carving things with his pocket knife. You were proven wrong, apparently.
Whether it was from an actual new interest in drawing or his competitive nature in general you weren't sure, but you weren't complaining. You were glad he at least had some sort of interest in the things your interested in, even if it was just to try and be better than you at it. An idea popped up into your head, an idea anyone else would get punched for even considering. You were his boyfriend though, so you were pretty much safe.
"I'll just beat your highscore at pinball or something. Doesn't seem that hard." You shrugged, taking a quick glance at Vance's expression. He looked shocked, his mouth slightly opened and his eyes wide. You almost laughed but you managed to bite your tongue. As much as you knew Vance wouldn't actually hurt you you couldn't count on him putting you in a light headlock, which was probably what he was considering right now.
"You wouldn't even get close." Vance's voice got lower, his tone nowhere far away from threatening. Still, the spark of amusement in his eyes is still there. He's only teasing.
"I'm thinking about it. Since we're picking up new hobbies and all." You flip through the pages of your sketchbook to try and seem as though this conversation wasn't interesting you in the slightest. You probably just looked a little dumb.
"You absolutely will not!" Vance quickly moves forward and holds you close in a position where you could barely move. You can't help but laugh, your fists flying backwards in an attempt to get out of your boyfriend's grasp. It comes nowhere near working but you can feel the vibrations of him trying his best to stop himself from laughing, too. It wasn't really working that well.
"Vance Hopper I will break that pinball machine instead!" You cackled, finally landing a hit on Vance. By the way he grunted and seemed to almost stagger a little you could tell you had accidentally hurt him more than you wanted to. Before you could even pause and apologize he was back to teasing as if you hadn't even done anything at all.
"I'll just take your sketchbook, then." Your boyfriend stated in a matter-of-fact tone. You barely even get your words out before he lets go and grabs your sketchbook before you get a chance to. Vance quickly gets off of your bed and you copy his movements, the two of you pausing as you wait for the other to move. You move first, grabbing for your sketchbook only for him to let out a bark of laughter and run out of your room. You want to say something but you decide to save your breath for the chase you knew he was likely going to win.
Vance ran from cops significantly more than you did. You never ran from cops, you didn't have to. This wasn't the first time he had unceremoniously stolen something from you and ran, unfortunately. He seemed to find it entertaining and while you did, too in a sense it didn't always end in you winning. Still, you decide to feed his already overgrown ego and chase him around your house in hopes he won't accidentally break anything in the process.
It doesn't take you long to catch up, once you get downstairs you find him waiting right in the living room. The second he sees you, though, he starts running again and you do, too. You dodge various pieces of furniture, almost knocking one of the chairs in your dining room over. Thankfully Vance is much less clumsy than you and as far as you have seen hasn't come close to breaking anything or knocking anything over.
"Give it!" You demand, your breath overtaking your voice as you struggle to get it back. Vance is struggling too, his chest rising and lowering as he stands with your sketchbook on the other side of the table. Rather than a proper response he gives an out of breath laugh. You know you won't get your stolen property back by simply catching him, that boy has outrun probably half of the police officers in Denver easily.
You try your best to formulate a plan in your head. You could trick him, but you weren't really sure how. Even though he had already failed two grades and was easily going on year three he wasn't an idiot. Whatever you quickly came up with he'd definitely figure out without a doubt. Bribery, maybe. The only thing he cares about his pinball, though, and you weren't that keen on wasting money when you knew he'd give it back eventually.
Even so, you wanted to win. You may be the polar opposite of your boyfriend personality wise but you were equally as competitive. You were going to get that sketchbook back on your own.
"I'll give you money for pinball if you give me my sketchbook." You try your best to hide your growing smirk. Vance raised one singular eyebrow, his breaths becoming more regulated as time goes on. You don't need a verbal response to know he's considering and likely wants you to go on.
"Enough for like - a few games maybe? I know you're short on change right now, you were complaining about it earlier at the Grab n' Go." You knew this because you were the one Vance was complaining to. You often watched him play pinball the same as he often watched you draw.
"Okay, deal." Vance shrugs, stepping forward. You know Vance, and you know he's not just gonna give it to you that easily. You're gonna have to be equally as mean if you want that sketchbook as bad as he does. As soon as he walks close enough you waste no time to tackle him to the ground, catching him off guard and causing both of you to tumble into the ground.
Before Vance has enough time to react you grab your sketchbook from his hands and try your best to get up. Instead he grabs your ankle and pulls you down, crawling forward in attempt to grab your own sketchbook from your hands after you had just taken it back from him. You loved him, but the audacity this boy has sometimes is truly unbelievable. Determined to not let Vance take it again you slide it across the floor, causing your boyfriend to pause and curse under his breath.
You could tell he was beginning to take this seriously. You were too, in a sense. You really wanted to win for once and Vance could tell. The two of you rush forward, your socks sliding on the floor of the dining room as you both try your best to get there first. Without thinking you push Vance's face away to try and give you enough time and stop him a little. It works, and you feel your sketchbook in your hands once again.
You decide to not make the mistake of lingering again and bolt upstairs deciding running outside with Vance chasing you would look a little odd without context. You also didn't feel like getting your socks dirty. Your boyfriend wastes no time chasing after you as you make your ways upstairs, the thumping of two pairs of feet on the stairs probably enough to cause an earthquake if you both tried hard enough.
You make it into your room before Vance does and, knowing exactly what he's gonna try, shove it into one of your drawers right after closing the door on his face. It opens right after you shut the drawer closed, leaving you to stand in your own room empty handed and a little nervous. Your boyfriend looks over your room in a frenzy to try and find your sketchbook and quickly gives up, accepting the sketchbook is gone but not yet accepting you actually won.
A proud grin adorns your face, your whole body shaking with leftover adrenaline from being chased around your own house and being knocked to the ground once or twice. Vance stares at you before huffing and sitting down onto your bed, the mattress shifting with the new weight of your boyfriend. You join him.
"So I don't get the change for pinball?" He asks, his voice full of disappointment that really doesn't match his personality at all. You sigh and roll your eyes ever so slightly, the smallest of smiles appearing as you fished through your pockets for change. As you hand it over to Vance his expression immediately lights up and he affectionately punches you in the shoulder, maybe a little harder than necessary. "Alright, thanks." He laughs, putting the coins into his own pockets. You really got robbed twice.
You snort in response and Vance seems to stare at your small bookshelf, his eyes apparently caught on a specific one. You follow his gaze but can't tell exactly which one he's looking at specifically, there are quite a few.
"Hey, isn't that the book you were talking about?" You narrow your eyes in thought before you finally come across the memory.
"Oh, yeah. Carrie. Why?"
"Can I uh - borrow it or something? I probably won't finish it, I'm not a literal nerd like you, but you seemed to like it so maybe it's not that bad." He shrugged nonchalantly, though his fixed attention on the book broke his 'cool guy' facade. You smirk, standing up and grabbing the book from the shelf.
"Sure, I don't mind. Just give it back at some point, please." You can't help but chuckle, holding the book out towards your boyfriend. He gives an indignant snort in response and takes it from your hands.
"No promises."

Something a Little More — Vance Hopper x Female OC Character
Navy DeHaan is a 16 year old working cop trainee, apart of the Denver Police Department—DPD—of Colorado. When called into a more ramshackle, downtrodden town hosting itself at the rim of Colorado, where an ongoing line of teenage boys have been allegedly “disappearing out of thin air”, Navy enters the investigation in pursuit of who has been the catalyst of these missing kids, as well as a rivalry yet friendship between a hostile teenage boy named Vance Hopper.
TW: Blood, cussing, perversion
AN: I probably won’t continue this story on for too long since I’m not too interested in the characters or the premise but whatevs

CHAPTER 1: Kickstart
“Is it just me, or did the air just turn fuckin’ nasty?”
My dad’s raucous voice meshed with the Led Zeppelin song playing on the radio.
“We’re a long way from home.” I sighed, shuffling in the car seat that had likely numbed my entire body. “Honestly. Why’re these murders taking place in a hellhole like this?” My brown eyes treaded along the pastel horizon to meet with the stubby buildings building up decently far off into the distance. This sky felt empty, juxtaposed to the much chattier one in Denver which was encapsulated with the ends of skyscrapers reaching for the clouds. The sky drifting above this town was starkly silent, a feature I found somewhat..eerie. Maybe it was the dawning case I’d have to work on in this town for the extent of our stay here, which I found myself hoping would be a more..diminutive amount of time.
“That’s what we’re here to find out, kiddo.” I might’ve counted every swirl drowning in the clouds by now. Road trips were one of my least favorite things, although we did travel habitually.
“Hey. Even though this place seems harmless, you know I want you safe at all times. Curfew at 9, Navy.”
“The suspect, who we have no clues as to what this person may look like, is hunting boys.” I expressed with a gesture of the hand. “Plus you know I can take care of myself. If I get caught, you’ll know the suspect’ll able to handle a policeman’s daughter, one endeavoring for a spot maybe even higher than her father’s.”
“That’s the last thing I’d want, Navy—you know this isn’t a game, right?” His tone cut through the underlying electric guitar solo as his hostile gaze grazed mine. My lips stayed a thin line as my chest heaved heavenwards. “No messing around, not with something like this going on. You should’ve been taught that lesson long ago.”
“It was a joke.” The squeak rashly left my lips, my volition thrown out of the car window.
The rest of the car ride was filled with more boisterous metal songs before we’d finally arrived to the place. It was frankly worse than the semblance of the town I’d formed in my head. The buildings weren’t even reaching for the sky—they were holding their hands a few inches into the air, dangling their claws as far as a turtle could raise it’s fat head up. Pi-ti-ful.
God, how was I going to survive even a few damn months here? The smell was dehumanizing enough.
However, one of the likely only pros of living in this shithole was that I’d probably know everyone who’d walk these streets by, give it, two months. That was what I’d always heard of small towns; everyone was apparently connected—everyone knew every kid and their mom, that was just how it worked.
I found myself musing on what the minuscule set of pros might be as my dad and I pulled up to a gas station. By now we were starting to reach what I took was the center of the town.
“Could you get some snacks?” My dad spoke up as he parked the car, digging into his wallet before hovering his hand in the air. There was still an underlying bitterness lingering in my vindictive eyes as we shared a glare, but I snatched the card from his hand with a swipe before swinging the car door open.
Moments later I was stepping into the first place I’d ever walk into in this town.
Nosy eyes followed me everywhere I went as I roamed the various aisles. Everyone was in their own corners amidst their own friends, and they were clearly gossiping amongst themselves—the hushed tone of their voices told it’s tale. I grabbed a handful of snacks hastily and sauntered over to the counter.
My mien was of a I-don’t-want-to-be here—I-didn’t-even-fucking-sign-up-for-this—get-me-out type style, yet no matter how evident I desperately tried to make that seem, someone still decided to mess with me and my mood.
“You’re new here, huh?”
I hadn’t taken much notice of the cashier until that very moment. He was a middle aged man, who was seemingly going through his balding stage. But there I knew being more than just nice—he was interested in me, it was crystal clear in the sly lecherousness sporting his blue eyes, fixing them into a darker shade.
I’d dealt with people like this before. Only desiring walking back out of that doorway, I opted to keep the situation trivial.
“Mhm.” I murmured shortly, which surely gave off the underlying impression that I was definitely not into older men. But this man was relentless.
“So. You gonna tell me your name, pretty?”
A groan slithered from the crease of my dry lips. This was getting to be tedious.
“Oh, don’t be so pessimistic, babe! Tell me your name.”
The nickname “babe” nearly threw me off, but I stood my hard ground nevertheless. Anger began to bubble like hot molten lava underneath my shielded, tan skin.
“Navy.” I reluctantly but stubbornly replied.
“Ah! Navy, as in the army! You know, such a manly name shouldn’t be given to such a beautiful young lady-“
A scowl tore onto my face like a piece of leather that had been slashed through by a dagger’s blade.
“Okay, give me the bag, dipshit.”
And it was as if everyone had taken a screeching halt.
Albeit, the ringing engulfing the whole of my ears was almost deafening enough to block out the silence and the whispers, seconds later I’d came to the revelation that nearly everyone in the goddamn station was alerted of our discord. My face was fuming red—I just wanted to get to my new, awful home and get. The fuck. Out of here. As my twitching hand then hovered over the pocket of my military jeans, the man held a vexed glower.
“Okay, get over here, you little-“
And that was when another figure came swinging into action adjacent to me, all to my damn discombobulation and utter shock.
His hand had deftly gripped the man’s forearm—the boy who’d stepped into the fight—and then.. and then his other was wrapped around the cover of the tip jar. And-And that’s when suddenly his arm had smashed the jar onto the man’s fist with a deafening crash, eliciting an anguished cry of pain from the cashier’s throat.
“One thing to know about this town—“ As the figure turned onto his heel, I realized then that he was a teenage boy, definitely near or even of my age. But that wasn’t what had seized my attention—no, it was the disheveled, gaudy blonde hair that trickled to the muscle of his broad shoulders. At least that was three quarters of it, actually. The rest was drawn into the incandescent blue thriving in his driven eyes. Hubris shone off of him like a damn aura. “Perverts run the streets like mice, bitch. You should thank me: I just saved your ass.”
“Yeah, well, I didn’t need the saving, asshole.” I griped, fatigued by the second egotistical male I’d encountered today. God, this town really favored flamboyant men. Taking the grip of my trusty dagger between the mold of my fingers, I put my knife on display as if proving my worth. “My dad’s a police officer. And frankly, I would’ve handled the situation much better.”
“What, so you have a knife. Were you going to wave it around the guy’s head like a baby flashes his fucking toy? You’re half of his size, little girl!” My face puckered with utter and complete disdain as I rose up to retort another comeback.
“Navy! What the fuck!”
And then my eyes bulged promptly into two round circles as the voice zipped into my ears. I had discerned the holder of the words the moment one syllable had been perceived in my mind. Turning languidly, I twisted around to face the man: my father, whom stood with a boiling red face right in the middle of the store doorway. A wad of spit descended down my taut throat in that moment as our similar gazes crashed, and mine softened slightly in a diffidence. I could just hear his condescending comments rising in my ears like a cataclysmic wave.
Oh, this really had to be right after our fight. He was gonna get my ass for this one.
“Officer! Officer!” We were both simultaneously snapped out of our stare, having averted our eyes cautiously to the worker. His hand was dripping of crimson red. “Those two! Arrest them!”
“No. This wasn’t my daughter, she wasn’t taught this way.” He muttered in a raspy tone, stomping his feet against the station floor. He returned to his position beside me, eyes flickering between me and the worker and the boy behind manically. “Was it you, boy?!”
My gaze glided over to the teenage boy. It was obvious by how he held his breath that he—no matter how inflated his ego may be—was intimidated by my dad’s burly stance. I almost laughed aloud.
“He was hitting on your daughter. I had to do something about it.” A roll played on my eyes. “It wasn’t like I was crying for you help, blondie—“
“He was hittin’ on my daughter?!”
I turned to the damned cashier. It was as if his insolent life had flashed right before his tormented eyes. “Get over here! Now!”
“God almighty..” I muttered, rubbing the aches of my temples as my dad ran around and to the back the the counter.
Turns out that this town was so much worse than aforementioned. Per-Perfect.
“Why’d you even move here?”
My pupils, surrounded by a chocolate brown, drifted to the brazen boy once more. I had found myself shocked as to how sincerely interested those few words had been, compared to the tempestuous ones he’d been spitting at me before.
“No one who wears clothes that look that fucking expensive come over here.”
A breezy sigh fell from my lips. “It’s only temporary.” I confirmed with a tedious voice, wrapping my arms in a tight hold. “I’ll run out of this city if I’m forced to.”
“You should while you can, Navy.” The way his tongue played my name vexed me. “Well, you’ve stolen enough time from me, cunt, I have to get back to my game.”
“Could I at least have a name?” I poked once more, prying for information on the guy. His frizzy hair of blonde halted before the forefront of his face overturned the back of his head, bringing him to face my inquiring countenance.
“You’d probably figure it out without getting it from me, anyway.” The boy paused. “Vance Hopper.”
I was just about to comment about how stupid his name was before my dad called my name out in a yell. Before sauntering out of the store, I turned to the boy a last time.
“Stop fucking cussing, Vance Hopper.” I quipped before running off back to my father.

Vance Having a Crush On a Quiet Reader
Vance usually hates people like you, quiet, introverted, and he surprised himself.
He tries to tell himself he doesn’t like you
He even misses multiple days of school just so he wouldn’t see you, not in a bad way, he just has such a big crush on you
but then he sees you at school one day and he can’t stop staring.
He stares so much, and sometimes he doesn’t look away when you catch him staring. He gets zoned out just thinking about you.
You’re sure Vance doesn’t like you. Maybe he just has a staring problem. he seems like the type of guy to bully people like you. But you’re wrong. Like, dead wrong.
His friends think that he has a crush on you he does but he doesn’t wanna admit it
They make fun of him for it, he doesn’t have crushes a lot.
I honestly think his friends are the type of people to yell out “Vance likes you” whenever they see you.
Overthinks asking you out a lot.
He’ll legit walk up to you ready to ask you out, and when you face him he’ll run away.

Cuddles 'n kisses
Vance hopper x gn! reader
Warnings:
I literally just came up with this
not proofread
This is basically like my head over heels story but whatever
ooc vance
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
You ran your fingers through your boyfriends curly blonde hair, his head rested in your chest. His eyes were closed and you were unsure if he was asleep or not, he looked so peaceful which was unusual for vance.
You smiled softly to yourself when you heard him mumble something tiredly, his eyes still closed. "What'd you say babe?" You hummed quietly, looking down at his sleepy face.
"I'm tired.." He said softly, nuzzling his face into your chest, you moved some of his blonde curls out of his face and kissed his forehead gently.
"You can take a nap if you want vance.."
After a few minutes you felt him relax even further, and he was snoring softly. You kissed his head again, you continued to gently play with his curls as he slept.
He shifted slightly, his blue eyes opening to meet yours. "Y/n.. what are you doing.." He asked, his voice was groggy and you could tell he wasn't fully awake, you giggled softly "what do you mean?"
"I don't know.." He layed his head back down, hiding his face into your neck placing a few soft kisses onto your skin. "I love you y/n.." "I love you too vance.."

The Black Phone characters reactions to having a s/o that actually throws fists at their bullies:
Including: Vance, Bruce, Finney and Robin
Tw: none except that you are a badass I guess 🤷
Author's note: Hii everyone!! Just a quick reminder that English isn't my native language so please be kind if there's some mistakes! <3
Bruce Yamada:
- Bruce will be probably in complete shock after seeing you hit your bully square in the face-
- Actually he never thought that his sweet s/o would be capable of fighting back, he's usually the one protecting you!
- "Where did you learned that technique ?" "Can you teach it to me?"
- Lowkey impressed 🤌
- One time he deadass cheered on you when you were fighting with some girl in the school's hallway 💀
- If you get hurt he'll definitely patch you, adding a sweet little kiss where your are patched.
Vance Hopper:
- Vance would be impressed, not like Bruce though, but I think he'll just raise his eyebrows and maybe laugh a bit when he'll see you beating up your bully.
- He secretly thinks that fighting makes you look hot-
- He's the one teaching you some of his secret technique, and he finds it cute when you're copying step by step his moves--
- Unlike Bruce, when your throwing fists he will not just stay there 🧍 bc nobody has the right to touch his precious s/o
- "Calm down, you'll never be as strong as me"
- Sometimes you'll fight him as a joke, but you'll always end up on the floor 💀
Robin Arellano:
- One time he heard that you got into a fight so he immediately rushed to save you, but when he saw you pining down a grown ass eighteen years old boy, he felt really proud
- Like super proud-
- Eventually he'll try to explain to you that you don't have to fight your bullies, that you can tell him who's messing with you and he'll beat them right away
- But gosh he's proud. Like, he has that soft smile when he's patching your knuckles, caressing them lightly 🥺
- "If these dickheads keep on bothering you, I'll beat them for you"
Finney Blake:
- Shocked since the day you slapped the life out of one of his bullies 💀
- Some says that you can still hear the sound of the slap if you concentrate enough--
- Finn's really amazed by your fighting skills and will ask you to teach him some of them!! <3
- Expect a lot of love when you just finished a fight. Like he will litteraly shower you with questions like "Are you okay??" And "Are you hurt??"
- He's a pro at patching you. He will even buy special band aids with cute characters on it just for you😭
- Even Gwen wants to learn your fighting techniques!!

Robin Arellano Confession/Dating HCs
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m working on writing fic requests I’m sorry I’m taking so long!!! Please forgive me!!! I have homecoming and theatre shows coming up so I’m slow, I deeply and sincerely apologize. Please take these headcanon’s as an apology. Sorry it’s short, I’m literally exhausted
——————————————
You and Robin knew each other since you were kids
Both your moms were friends when they were younger so naturally you two will be too
Call it cliché childhood friends trope, idc it’s adorable
Anyway-
You and Robin used to play pretend a lot as kids. You’d be the royalty needing protecting and Robin would be your knight in shining armor
He’s the Romeo to your Juliet basically, but less creepy
He asked you out one day when you and him were in your room chilling on your bed
You were laying on your stomach reading something and he was laying his head in the dip in your back
“Estoy enamorado de ti” (I’m in love with you)
“What?”
“Don’t worry about it”
He didn’t know that you started learning Spanish from his mom and uncle
“¿Qué tienes, mi vida? Estoy enamorado de ti también.” (What’s wrong, love? I’m in love with you too)
He shot up so fast
When you turned to look at him his face was red and he was pulling his bandana over his eyes
“When did you learn that?! You little hechicera.” (sorceress - think of it like you’ve enchanted him)
You giggled and sat up, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and pulling him down into a kiss
He’s so protective of you after this
Moose better say his prayers if he even looks at you funny
If you two are at school he’s bound to be behind you
He’s always touching you somehow
He’s got an arm around your wait, an arm on your shoulder, pinkies hooked together, you make it
He gave you his favorite bandana and made sure you’re always wearing it
(It rests around your wrist like a watch and he loves to see it)
If you’re doing something in front of him and he feels particularly bold or is craving you, he’ll pull you by your belt loops against him with a shit eating grin
You melt at his touches
Somehow you guys are hanging out with each other even more than you did before
Best believe he sneaks into your room at night to cuddle you
He’s so gentle with you
He’s always the big spoon, no debate
Will climb over you and stuff to make sure he’s always the big spoon I’m not joking
Kisses you and runs his fingers against your scalp when you’re both trying to sleep
Absolutely LOVES kissing you
Literally addicted to you
PDA fan, mainly so he can show people you’re his
He always has a sort of woodsy and natural scent to him
He loves resting on your head and takes a deep breath when he can smell your hair
He’s so in love with you it makes him feel crazy

hola! i really love your Vance writings! sooo soo good. so I had this idea,,, i was wondering if u could write one where vance and y/n are like making out (in a very inconvenient place) and just as it’s getting good the two get caught and in trouble like detention or something lolllll
Edit: someone has expressed discomfort at this post, please read the prompt for your comfort before interacting
Caught (Vance Hopper)
Pairing: Vance Hopper x GN!Reader (romantic)
Word count: 546
Description: Vance sneaks into an empty classroom to make out with Y/N
Tags: making out, biting, being caught
~~~~~~~~~
“In here,” Vance whispered out to you from a door to an empty classroom. You pushed the ajar door open and entered. You heard the door shut behind you and turned around to see Vance with a gleeful smile on his face.
“Hey stranger,” you chuckled, approaching him with your arms crossed.
“Hey yourself,” he responded, meeting you and wrapping his arms around the small of your back. “You know, it sure is hard work to sneak into your side of the school. Maybe I should get a kiss for my troubles.” He grinned as he looked into your eyes. You could see him trace his tongue along his top row of teeth.
“Oh you do now?” You smiled, leaning towards him but still leaving space.
“Oh I do,” he said, putting on a flirty tone.
“Well then you better come here.” you giggled as you pulled on Vance’s vest to bring his face to yours.
You brought his lips to yours, inhaling deeply as he leaned into you. You raised your arms and brought them to wrap around his neck. Your fingers played with the hair on the back of his neck as you smiled against him. You pulled away a couple centimeters to speak.
“Well, it appears you got your kiss,” you hummed, waiting for him to object.
“Oh, I think you can do a little better than that,” he purred softly. You laughed out loud as he picked you up and brought you over to a table in the room. He placed you down roughly and leaned into you again.
This time, your kiss was more passionate. You pressed your body against him as you held him. You felt Vance run his tongue along your lip and you opened your eyes slightly as you opened your mouth to him. Vance lept at the opportunity and thrust his tongue into your mouth. His tongue tangled with yours as an intense blush came across your face. The feeling of his tongue was always a little strange, but it was a welcome feeling you sought after frequently. You hummed quietly as he ran his hand through your hair and pulled your head back. He detached his mouth from yours and began to kiss along your neck.
His tongue ran in a stripe from your collarbone to the base of your jaw, sucking spots along the way. The slight sting of his tug on your hair heightened the feeling of his mouth on your neck. You felt Vance pull away and chuckle quietly before he came back to your neck, just below your jaw. You felt his teeth graze your skin before he bit down into you. You gasped as he bit you. Any other time, you might have considered it painful, but the mood Vance had set turned the pain to a more mild feeling. He didn’t bite hard enough to draw blood, but you could feel he left quite a mark, one he knew you would struggle to cover.
Suddenly, you heard the door knob begin to turn and you pushed Vance away quickly. He straightened as he heard the door knob. When the door opened, a teacher stood in the doorway.
“Out,” she said with an exasperated tone. “Detention, both of you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Hope you enjoyed! I've been hesitant before but I kinda just said fuck it this time. I know it's kinda short but I feel the length doesn't negatively affect it so

————————————————————————
“YOU DUMBASS SLUT, I’M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!” Matty screamed into the cold autumn breeze as you ran through the school yards to get away from him. You laughed as you turned your head, seeing him only get further and further behind you. “You gotta be quicker than that if you wanna catch me!” you said to him as you ran even faster than before.
You knew that Matty was all bark and no bite.. that’s all he ever could be, at least when it came to you. If he ever laid a hand on you, your best friend would lose it on him. Beat his head into the ground until all that was left of him was blood and bones. He always made sure the two of you were kept safe, protecting you and him at all cost, though it was quite easy for him.
Robin was one of the toughest guys in the school, and he was even stronger when he was mad, and if someone ever hurt you.. they mine as well accept their fate and prepare to die the next time Robin spotted them. You on the other hand, you didn’t do the fighting. You were usually the reason the fights happened though. If someone threatened to beat your ass, Robin took the words very seriously and made sure to beat their asses before they could get to you.
You usually just made the people mad by saying dumb things to piss them off, but this time was different. Matty was mad for a completely different reason.. that reason being because you stole his Nolan Ryan baseball card when he wasn’t looking. You’ve previously stolen from Matty before, you tend to do so a lot. Stealing was just fun in your opinion. It gives you a rush of adrenaline when being on the run from someone who was trying to chase you and get their belongings back, even though they’ve never been successful before.
You’ve previously stolen money, food, cheap jewelry.. but never something this precious to anyone.
Everyone knew Matty’s love for Nolan Ryan, the boy was obsessed with him. He only ever talked about him in class, and he did his previous research project in literature about him. It was honestly so annoying when listening to him talk about his new Nolan Ryan card that he received for his birthday, so you decided to take it from his hands when showing it off. Of course, it was rude and unnecessary.. but you were bored and had nothing else to do, plus you planned on returning it to his desk tomorrow at school before he got to class, since he was usually always late.
You felt your cramps begin to appear in your stomach as a result of you running as fast as you could for at least the past eight minutes. You whipped past houses that looked like blurs in the corners of your eyes due to the speed you were running at. You knew you were getting too tired to continue with your fast speed as you felt your heart beating as fast as it could in your chest.
You slowed down your speed, hardly at all, before you heard Matty yelling behind you once again. “I’M GONNA BEAT YOUR ASS UNTIL YOUR DEAD BITCH! ROBIN’S NOT HERE TO HELP YOU NOW IS HE?” he screamed to you as he picked up his speed, coming after you like a cheetah.
Fuck. You were too tired to pick your speed up faster than before, you needed a way out of this already. You continued to run as you saw the Grab N’ Go on the corner of the street appearing on the left of you as you ran up the street. ‘There!’ you thought to yourself as you picked up your pace even faster than before since you didn’t have to run much longer. When you finally made it to the Grab N’ Go, you ran inside and ran straight to the back of the store, crouching down behind a shelf when you heard the bells above the door chime as footsteps appeared inside. You slowly peeked your head around the shelf as you saw Matty walking over to the right of the entrance and towards the pinball machine, the pinball machine where none other than Vance Hopper himself played after school every single day.
Vance wasn’t your friend, in fact, you have only ever had one interaction with him. It was last year and you were in the hallways of the school, running down them to get to Robin before he walked out of the building when you ran into Vance by accident, causing him to spill his bag of quarters for his game on the ground. He looked at you angrily and began to cuss you out, but you ignored him, apologizing to him over his yelling, and running out of the school doors to Robin.
Anyways, back to what was happening in this moment.. Matty walked over to Vance and tapped his shoulder as Vance looked over at him annoyed. “Can’t you see I'm in the middle of something, dumbass.” he said to Matty as he swallowed hard. Vance was absolutely terrifying, to everyone. He was the toughest kid at school (Robin being a close second), and he wasn’t afraid to throw a punch literally ever, no matter where he was. You laughed a little, quietly, as you watched Matty’s face fill with fear due to the mad boy in front of him.
“I’m sorry.” Matty said as he looked away from Vance, so that he wouldn’t have to make eye contact with him. “I just was going to ask if you saw where the person who ran in here a few seconds ago went.” he spoke to Vance as Vance shook his head. “No, Dipshit. I was playing my game, I didn’t bother checking who walked in here.” he said as he turned back to his pinball machine and put another quarter in. Matty turned his body away from Vance as he started walking in the direction of the isle you were behind. You widened your eyes as you moved your head back behind the shelf and went around the other side of it, ducking down and fast walking to the exit.
You went to exit the Grab N’ Go as you felt a hand grab your shoulder. ‘Shit!’ you thought to yourself as you turned your head to see an angry looking red head holding onto your arm. It was Buzz.. Matty’s best friend. You widen your eyes as you ran out of the store and out of his grip. You were able to run to the side of the store as Buzz chased behind you and grabbed your shoulder again. “Matty.. I got ‘em!” he yelled as Matty started walking around the side of the Grab N’ Go and over to the both of you, anger written all over his face.
You tried to push Buzz’s hand off your shoulder as he grabbed it harder, and then grabbed your wrist so you couldn’t leave the store. “Let me go fuckhead!” you said as his tight grasp on you became even stronger. Matty walked over to you and smirked as he grabbed your jaw. “Robin isn’t here to help you now, bitch.” he said as he held up his hand to punch you. You squeezed your eyes shut to brace for impact, when you heard another voice, one that didn’t sound like Buzz or Matty’s voice.
“Let them fucking go.” their voice said as you opened your eyes and looked over where the voice was coming from. You widened your eyes when you saw who it was. Vance Hopper was standing next to the two boys who had you in their grip, and he looked extremely pissed as you felt the two sets of hands on your body let you go. You shoved Matty once he let you go and Vance looked at you and furrowed his brows. “Don’t touch me again you bitch!” you spoke to Matty as he turned his head to look at you. “I’ll tell Robin all about this if you ever try to fuck with me again.” you said as you threw his baseball card at his chest.
Vance widened his eyes a little once he saw the card, understanding why Matty was looking for you in the first place. Matty shoved you into the dirt as he spit onto you, but Vance didn’t seem to care. Buzz flipped you off as the two of them started to walk away. You grabbed a small pebble of a rock off of the ground and threw it at Matty’s back as he walked away, but he didn’t turn around or care since he had his card back. Vance looked down at you once the two boys had walked away and you hopped off the ground, dusting off your pants. You looked at Vance and furrowed your brows. “I thought you told them to let me go, why didn’t you punch them or something?” you asked him as he furrowed his brows more. “You deserved that, you can’t steal people’s prized possessions and expect to just get away with it. That’s fucked up.” he said as you looked at him annoyedly. “You’re one to talk about fucked up things.” you said as he looked at you angrily as well.
“You know what, fuck you. Next time get your ass whooped.” he said while walking back around the side of the Grab N’ Go. You felt bad that you hadn’t thanked him, even if they did shove you, he still stopped them from beating your ass. You followed behind him as you talked to him. “Thank you.” you said to him as he turned his head to look at you. “For what?” he said and you shrugged. You have never really thanked anyone before, you’re not very affectionate with words.. or actions, or anything for that matter. No one ever gives you anything to thank them for anyways. No one but Robin.
“For being the reason they didn’t beat me up.” you said to Vance as he nodded his head a little. “Don’t mention it.” he said as he walked back into the Grab N’ Go and you left, walking back to your house, dusting off your clothes as best as you could so that your father wouldn’t get mad at you for your clothes being dirty.
Once you got to your house, you opened the door quietly as you walked inside and looked in the living room to see if your dad was in there.. he wasn’t. You walked further in to see inside the kitchen and he was standing at the counter. A glass in his hand and a look on his face as if he were extremely annoyed. “Why are you late getting home?” he asked you as you looked down, not wanting to make eye contact with him. You assumed he was high or drunk, or both, you didn’t want to see his eyes nearly lifeless looking.
“I stopped by the Grab N’ Go on my way home to get a snack.” you said to him quietly so that he wouldn’t complain that his head was hurting from you being too loud. He looked at your clothes and nodded his head. “So what’s the reason for the dirt all over your clothes?” he asked you as you looked for an excuse to make. Before you could get out any type of excuse, he began talking again. “Why do you lie to me?” he asked as you shook your head. “I’m not lying, I really did stop by for a snack, but I got into a bit of an argument there and they shoved me into the dirt, I’m fine though.” You said as you began walking to the hall to go to your room, right before your dad grabbed your wrist tightly, turning you to look at him.
“I don’t like when you lie to me.” he said as he looked into your eyes. Your assumptions of what his eyes looked like from a few moments ago were correct. They were bloodshot red, and his pupils were big. He smelt like weed, but his big pupils gave away that he had been snorting cocaine. “I’m not lying.” you said to him as you looked away from his dark eyes. You felt his hand tighter around your wrist, clearly out of anger, as he lifted up his other hand and slapped you across the face. You squeezed your eyes shut to bear the pain as he grabbed your chin, making you look him in the eyes again.
“You lie to me again, I'll do more than that.” he said as he let go of your chin, aggressively. Your eyes filled with tears as you felt the mark of his hand print begin to appear on your cheek. “Yes sir.” You said quietly, not having any bark in you to tell him not to touch you like that. “Go to your room, now.” he said as he walked into the living room. You zoomed into your room, silently shutting the door before breaking down on your floor. You rubbed your cheek, where he had slapped you, and cried quietly to yourself. Tears poured down your swollen cheek and left wet spots on your dirt covered shirt. You stayed there on the floor for a while, before standing up and getting in the shower before going to bed extremely early, not leaving your room to eat dinner that night so you wouldn’t have to face your father again.

Vance Hopper x F! Reader
Protective and Fluff
Bronze Medal
The arcade's lights glowed on the dark walls. Vance snuck glances at you while maintaining a strict focus on his game, his knuckles turned white as he jerked the handle to the pinball machine. He was so close—just one more pull and he would be bragging about breaking another high score.
"What the hell" His nose scrunched in disgust as he looked at you again. The grip on the machine faltered, making him lose his process. The group around him let out sly snickers and gasps. Vance looked back at the game, pushing out a string of sore loser curses. But he couldn't be completely mad– especially not when a 5'4 idiot was talking to you.
Vance grumbled, shoving in another token, restarting his technique, making slow affirmations that you'll be by his side in a blink of an eye. He rapidly climbed the point system, and more kids wandered up, silently praying for his downfall.
"You live around here?" The shaggy brunette pushed his hair back. You shooked your head, trying to get a peak at Vance between all the crowded bodies. "Maybe after we get to know each other, I could walk you home?" He smiled, the neon lights made his braces shine.
You awkwardly laughed, biting the inside of your cheek. You didn't want to hurt his feelings but you didn't want to lead him on. "I'm sorry, I already have someone walking me home" You made a gesture towards Vance, who had his tongue poked out the side of his mouth in concentration.
"I'm sure he'll understand" He didn't get the hint...? He leaned forward, placing an elbow on the space next to your head to prop his head up. "We could always go somewhere else to get to know each other" He smirked, his lips parting while his eyes flickered go your lips.
You started to subconsciously chuckle, your brain panicking for the nearest exit. "I'm not interested in you, I have a boyfriend who would definitely not understand" You placed a hand on his chest, hoping to nudge him backward.
"I'm known to change female's mind" But he didn't—instead he leaned in closer.
It was an instinct for Vance to check on you or look at you for support whenever he was about to beat another score. He grinned, watching the ball hit sounds and blinding lights. However, the cocky ego was shot down multiple pegs when he saw the same guy with you, and he was kissing you.
He didn't wait for a second, pushing past the nosy children, marching over towards you. The many groans and protests fell behind him. You felt a harsh force pull you to the side. You yelped, clutching on the closest would figure. "What the fuck" By his pale knuckles, gripping your waist, you could tell Vance was holding back.
You looked up, an apology is already on tongue. You were his girlfriend, you shouldn't have let the situation develop as much as it did. Yet, he was burning holes in the boundary-crossing boy. The boy held his hands up in defense, his smirk dropping down to a quivering smile. "She didn't say she had a boyfriend"
You frowned, your eye twitching as you were about to argue against his statement. Vance let go of you, stepping up to the guy, he wrapped his hand around his collar. The boy's body made a thump when it connected to the wall. The group that was once admiring Vance play was now frozen, muttering about the scene.
"Don't fucking lie to me, dip shit" Vance swore, his fingers twitched closer to the guy's neck. Your brain took a long moment to process the slight choking noises. You were all for letting Vance beat up an asshole but getting kicked out of another place wasn't on your to-do list.
He leaned in, whispering something in the boy's ear. "—you understand me?" Vance applied more pressure on the blabbering male. You squeezed your eyes shut, hearing a connection between flesh happen. Vance pulled back his arm again, swinging it forward. The wide bruise on the boy's cheek grew, and his body suddenly limp.
Vance dropped the boy, his body crumbling to the ground. He was in the middle of kneeling and hitting him again when you spoke, "Let's go". You knew he heard you by the way his shoulders tensed, and his scarcely head turned. Vance's arm was still in the air, his fist clutched above the guy's face.
You sighed, turning around, and making a beeline to the door.
The cold wind hits your face. Your hands wrapped around your abdomen, bile scratching the side of your esophagus. The arcade's door chimed, and Vance slammed through, a deathly sneer on his face. He was already lettering something along the lines of "Someone had to teach that prick a lesson"
You huffed, kicking stranded pebbles across the concrete. You began to walk down the sidewalk. "I saved you from going to juvie" You chuckled, the heel of your shoes scratching on the pavement. His knuckles brushed past yours.
He started a few angry grumbling. You hide your laugh by readjusting your voice and intertwining your fingers. Vance's hand was calloused and rough but felt sweaty while being held by yours. He paused his furious breathing, allowing silence to consume the moment.
Distant barks of dogs echoed down the sidewalk. The branches of trees tussled, a few leaves drifting to the ground. "Did you..." Vance's voice gets lost in his throat. His hold on your hand got tighter. "Did you let him kiss you?" The words sounded forced, making the angsty sentiment evaporate.
You looked up at him, cocking your head to the side. "He didn't kiss me. And I would have never let that happen" You deadpanned in confusion. His long dirty blonde curls were stacked on his face, so you couldn't study his facial expression. Vance looked at you, the corners of his lips curling into a smile. You would've passed the movement as relief but you knew Vance way too well for that.
"What did you do...?" You hesitated, remembering Vance didn't immediately follow you after you left the scene.
"I thought he kissed you—" He darted his tongue over his lip, bringing your closed hands to his mouth. His lips moved over your skin, a grin plastering on the back of your hand. "—so I busted his lip"

Oooh! what if vance wakes up to find small braids in his hair?
Braids
Pairing - vance hopper x f!reader
Category - fluff <3
Vance and I laid in his bed. His head rested on my lap as he slept soundly. This rarely happened in our relationship, him asleep before I was. But he had been extremely tired from…honestly I didn’t even know. We had arrived at his house after school sat on his bed he was talking about so kid he beat up earlier before I heard quiet snores. I turned around to see him laid down asleep.
I had become bored watching him sleep, and I wasn’t tired at all. He had the perfect hair length to braid. So I carefully took a small chunk and began to braid. I was about halfway through his head when he began to stir in his sleep. I quickly let go of the chunk of hair I had in my hands mere seconds before his eyes snapped open. “What’re you doing?” He asked his voice deep and groggy from sleep. “Nothinggg. Did you have a good nap v?” I said smiling. He shrugged before sitting up. “I’ve gotta go to the bathroom I’ll be right back” he said pressing a kiss to my cheek before crawling out of bed. I nodded smirking. About 3 minutes later I heard.
“Y/NNNN!”
“What?” I giggled as I got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom. The bathroom door was open as he stared at himself in the mirror with a few braids in his hands. “Seriously?” He asked as he turned towards me. “You look handsome” I giggled as I walked towards him. He rolled his eyes as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my torso “you do look handsome” I giggled. He laughed before pressing a kiss to my cheek, “I don’t look handsome I look stupid.” I rolled my eyes “why are you always so grumpy” I giggled. He rolled his eyes as I pressed my lips to his.
“I like the braids don’t you?” I laughed, he rolled his eyes yet again. He was tired of my bullshit. “I look like a fucking Barbie doll” he muttered. “A badass Barbie doll.”

Stupid girl (v.h)
Tumblr media
People feared many people in this town. Sure, everyone was a bit scary but there were two people that everyone knew not to mess with.
Vance hopper always had quite the reputation. He was one to never turn down a fight and would not hesitate to get violent. Even most of the adults feared him, and everyone knew that you should never mess with his pinball. A new boy decided to play it one day and got his ass beaten for a whole week. Pretty sure nobody heard from him again.
Then there was Y/n. People “feared” her for different reasons. She was never an outright dick, never picked fights with people that didn’t deserve it. She stood by the fact that if people want respect they must earn it. If you were sweet to her, she’ll be sweet back.
-
The Grab n’ Go was packed as always, kids socializing and playing around. The bell chimed as you walked in. Out of the corner of your eye you caught a mane of blonde hair at the pinball machine, causing you to scoff.
‘Of course hes here.’ you thought. Walking over to the drink section you accidentally bumped into Vances game. Everyone got quiet as you continued your journey to find the right soda. You could hear Vance getting mad but drowned it out until you heard your name being called.
“Y/n.”
You didnt turn your gaze away from the sodas as you continued looking, just giving an absent minded “What?”
Vance balled up his fists but tried to contain himself. I dont hit girls. He always claimed.
“You pull some shit like that again, and ill pound your ass”
You let out a hushed chuckle, “Okay Vance” you mumbled before turning towards the candy section. His gaze was fixed on you and the store was still quiet, everyone watching. His face contorted to a scowl as you paid the cashier and began leaving, Vance following close behind.
As the two of you left you could hear the store go back to its original atmosphere. “Y/n, what the hell was that?!” He exclaimed.
“I dont know what your talking about.”
“Dont try to fucking embarrass me like that again, or i seriously will beat your ass.”
You turned before approaching him, smiling. You pulled out a 5 dollar bill before stuffing it in his pocket. You leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“For your supposed troubles” you giggled while walking off, leaving him a stunned blushing mess.
What the hell was that? he thought.

I hate that damned movie.
Tumblr media
Vance doesn’t like asking for affection. His ego is WAY too big. so he’s gonna scare it out of you instead.
Pairing: Vance Hopper x GN! Reader
Word Count: 1254
Warnings: Language, 🧿, 🌸
“I can't believe you made me watch that.” You said as you walked hand in hand with Vance.
“I can't believe you've never seen it!” He said with a hint of surprise in his voice. One thing Vance loved was making you scared. Scary movies? Yep. Sneaking up behind you? Check. Calling you in the middle of the night saying he sees you? Definitely. Making you watch Jaws, then taking you to a lake to swim so you will huddle up in his arms because of the “sharks”? Welp, that was his plan this time.
“Seriously, Vance. Last night I was trying to take a bath but I couldn't because I thought a shark was going to eat me. So thank you.” You said with sarcasm lacing your tone. You knew why he did it. You didn't mind clinging to him, but his ego is too big to ask. Instead, he makes you watch a stupid horror movie, the kind that scares the living shit out of you so that you are forced to shove your face in his arm
“You are so fuckin welcome” Vance chuckled out loud. He would have made a witty quip if he wasn't so concerned about where he was. He looked around, trying to find the familiar dirt path in the lush, green, forest. He wasn't was lost, just too distracted by the idea of you shaking in his arms. This was his most genius idea yet, surprised himself when he thought of it. I mean, you were the smart one, you came up with all the good date ideas. All he did was tag along. You pretty much-planned everything. The food, how you would get there, what you were going to do, who was going to be there so Vance wouldn't get in a fight. That last one really only worked 50% of the time. Vance looked around some more trying to find the familiar stone that looked like a V. This place was pretty much sacred to him, it's where his mom used to take him as a kid when they needed to get away from his father. Those were bitter-sweet memories. So this was really big for him. But he was willing to share it with someone who was a big part of his life.
“Oh Hey! That stone looks like a heart!” You mused
“No it looks like a V.” He retorted
“A V is just a thin heart.” You said back. The look you gave him said, “ I'm cute so you have to agree with me”. He had to agree with you, because well… He didn't know why, maybe he was just feeling generous today.
“Your right it's a heart, now come on that's the path”. Vance agreed, pulling you towards the path.
“So where are you taking me anyways?” You questioned. You had never seen this place or even heard him talk about it. The way he made his way through the forest made it seem like he had been here 100 times. ‘I swear to god, Vance Hopper if you lead me to some haunted cabin in the words I'm gonna-’
“We’re here.” He announced. You didn't know where he had taken you but it was beautiful. It was an enchanting view. The Colorado pines were so tall, and they made everything smell like Christmas. The crystal clear, bright blue water shimmered like glass in the sun. It was so clear that you could see the ridged stones bunched up together. Your hand slowly slid out of Vance's as you walked off onto the creaky, old, wooden dock. You marveled at the view, “this is a lot better than a haunted cabin in the woods” you whispered to yourself. You were about to say something to Vance until you heard loud stomping noise behind you.
“WOOHOO!” Vance shouted as he jumped into the water, splashing you when he landed. Laughing, you shook head, ‘what a kid’. Your joy ended up quickly when he didn't come back up.
“Vance?” You called out. No answer.
“Stop messing around and come back up.” You demanded. Still no answer. At this point, you were becoming very distraught. ‘Why hasn't he come up yet?’
“Vance!” You yelled. You were freaking out at this point. You got on your hands and knees, looking down into the water searching for a single glimpse of gold.
“WRHAA!”
“AHHH!” You screamed and fell backwards on your ass.
“VANCE HOPPER! YOU SON OF A BITCH!” You thundered. He fell back into the water, laughing hysterically. Your heart was going 100 miles an hour, it felt like it was going to jump out of your chest. You were so mad at him right now. You knew he was going to do something like this. He was so irritating sometimes.
Your thoughts did a complete 180 when you saw him swimming around and laughing. Laughing loud too. It was very rare that you saw him like this. Usually, you were the one laughing at something, he would just let out his “cool guy” chuckle. As you stared, he continued to move his arms in a circular motion swimming backward. You loved his smile because you knew he was genuinely happy when he was, and that made you happy. Your eyes moved to his wet hair. It was still curly, but dark and flat instead of golden and poofy. His bangs stuck to his forehead, and the ends of his hair flowed in the water. Then your eyes moved a little lower to his-
“You gonna get in or you just gonna sit there and stare?” Vance mocked. You had been caught. He caught you. You noticed that he caught you. He noticed that you noticed. Your face became warmer than the summer sun. ‘How embarrassing, i’m going to go die in a hole now.’ You got up from the dock and walked back to your things. to try to get rid of this feverish feeling you had. You looked at his clothes, carelessly piled up in a bunch on the dirt. ‘wait.’
“Yes, I have shorts on!” He shouted out, basically sensing your panic. You gave a nervous chuckle before taking off your own clothes. You hung up your clothes on a nearby tree branch right before walking back to the edge of the dock.
“I’m not jumping in by the way.” You informed him
“What? Why not just jump in? You’re not scared are you?” Vance said slyly.
“No, I'm not scared! I just don't want to get in right now.” You defended, avoiding his eyes
“I didn't come here to be watched by you like some stalker” He retorted. ‘I hate him’ you thought to yourself ‘that's not true I actually really like him, damn feelings’. You mentally punched yourself as you sighed. You picked yourself up and took a few steps back. You then took a few quick steps forward and jumped far out into the water. ‘Please don’t be cold’. You crashed into the water, immediately tensing up from the contact. ‘Oh great, it’s cold.’ You quickly rushed to the surface, gasping for air. You swam over to where you could touch, just a little closer to the dock than Vance. He gave you a genuine smile, and you smiled back taking in this moment because you knew you weren’t going to have it forever. It was a perfect moment, Just you and him, but you know, he has to ruin everything.
“SHARK!” Vance screamed while pointing out into the open. The amount of fear your felt at that moment was ASTRONOMICAL. You basically leapt onto Vance, looking around the water while subconsciously climbing up him as your attempt to get out. ‘This is a lake Y/N’. Your fear shortly turned into irritation as you slowly turned to face him.
“I hate that damned movie.” You hissed as you glared at him “and I hate you.”
“Yeah whatever, you fuckin liar” He then grabbed your face into his hands. Who leaned in first? He doesn't know, but that doesn’t matter. ‘Mission accomplished’.

Vance Hopper x Girly Reader
Your clothing styles are obviously very much different.
The agressive metalhead and the really girly girl. Good mix but very unusual.
He doesn't get the dresses, skirts, or leggings. Thinks they're stupid. Me too Vance, me too. :)
But he's still supportive of your sense of fashion/style if you wanna word it that way.
Don't be shy, empty Vance's pockets. He'll buy you whatever you want under 100 dollars-
He'll buy accessories and stuff that he thinks you might like.
Just make an effort of paying him back, it doesn't have to be money. Maybe a favor.
Huge shocker when people know for sure it's official.
You seem so nice and he's...well he's Vance hopper :)
Every edgy girl that has a crush on him is sobbing and crying.
Bonus if you're quiet and nice. He wants a girlfriend that's the total opposite of him.
Not mean, aggressive, or loud. Damn my writing makes me realize he would never get with me. Damn.
