Overnight work
Straw hat’s [redacted] (Yandere! Strawhats x reader)
Prologue
Tw: blood, wounds, splinters (pretty descriptive)
A little bonding time with... Zoro???? Lucky you!!!
~~~~~~~~~~
When you joined the straw hats, they expected some hard work on your end. Not because they wanted you to, oh no no no. The reason they came to this conclusion was because of the hard work you put in your old job and how seriously you took it.
They just didn't expect how invested you were in completing tasks...
On your first day living on the ship, you got up and waited on the rest of the crew, figuring that it'd be rude to snoop around on your own. Once the crew did leave their beds, they were surprised, even more so when you asked what duties you have been assigned.
The crew wasn't really sure where to start honestly. They really didn't think that far (Luffy made that decision to bring you on the ship without an actual plan), so they instead asked you to join in on a fun activity that day.
Initially, you were distracted from doing any real work, but you being you... you eventually found some labor.
Usopp, Luffy, and Chopper tried keeping your attention away from such boring tasks, but you couldn't even focus on the game at hand. Not when one of the newly replaced back sail had that nasty hole in it...
That simply wouldn't do.
So off you went, grabbing a spare sail clothe to replace the damaged one.
It took most of the afternoon just replacing it and inspecting any parts of the ship. The more mature members of the crew kept the others (mainly Luffy) from interrupting your work, but even they were bothered by your refusal to accept help.
Sanji even made dinner earlier so he could get you to break your unwavering attention on the sails, which worked fortunately!
That night, dinner was loud and chaotic.
It was a type of chaos that held no genuine malice, even as Sanji threatened to shove his foot up Zoro's hyper-clenched asshole.
You ate your food politely, even letting Luffy snag some food off your plate (much to Sanji's chagrin) while Sanji was distracted by Nami's beauty or Zoro's "I don't give a fuck" attitude.
Over all, the first day was uneventful, even for the Straw hat's standards…
BAM!
"...What the hell?" Zoro hissed in annoyance at first, only for that irritation to be replaced by caution as he heard another sound, this time more quiet then before...
Whoever was up there was trying (and failing) to be quiet.
The other men snored loudly as Zoro snuck out the room with his swords. His senses were on high alert as he poked his head outside, seeing nothing but the deck lacking any other living being.
His attention was directed to above him once he heard soft but heavy feet walking on the wood deck above.
Swords drawn, Zoro leapt onto the anchor deck, ready to tear into who ever dared to sneak onto the Going Merry. His rush of adrenaline only increased tenfold when he spotted a tall figure hidden by the shadows of the moonless night.
The figure turned with a large wood pole on their shoulder, nearly knocking Zoro off the deck. He ducked down just in time before launching himself towards the figure with his blades crossed in front of him. the figure quickly dropped the pole to the side of them and gripped the blades, keeping Zoro from slicing the figure.
He almost couldn't budge from the grip the person had on his swords, but he pulled, and pulled, and pulled, slowly cutting through the hand's delicate palms like thick butter before a pained growl was let out.
Shock, hurt, and confusion displayed itself on your face as you looked back in Zoro's golden brown eyes, who did a double take as well.
"(Y/n)!? What the hell!?" He yelled and backed away with his blades as soon as you released them.
"I'm... sorry?" You said in pure confusion.
"What-What are you doing out here this late!? And why are you swinging a giant pole around!?" He demanded while pointing his sword at you accusingly.
"I'm... finishing what I started yesterday." You said while pointing over to where the hind mast would be, which appeared to be missing.
Well... Not really.
Zoro would realize this when he finally stared at the now familiar looking mast laying on the deck beside them.
"...didn't you fix it though?" Was all he could ask in that moment.
"Only the sail. The repair shop missed the smaller mast apparently. The main one is in perfect condition, but this one wasn't." You said with a small huff.
Zoro slowly sheathed his swords, still giving you a strange look.
"Alright, but... at night?"
"It's better to get it done as soon as possible."
You walked over to grab the pole, only to jolt and pause before grabbing the pole more gently.
"Oi, leave it be." Zoro said while approaching you.
"I have to-"
"Your hands are cut open." Zoro muttered something about you being a dumbass before reaching down and grabbing your hands to look at them.
Your eyebrows were raised in surprise by his sudden touch and closeness, even more so by the fact that he gave a crap.
He clicked his tongue, feeling the blood on your calloused hands but unable to see well on this moonless night.
"...I can't see shit. C'mon." He turned away and walked towards the stairs.
You were hesitant to follow. Sure, you were bleeding and it hurt, but the job wasn't done. You CANNOT have the captain see his own mast laying on the anchor deck.
Unfortunately for you, the swordsman wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Get your ass down here, we need to clean your wounds."
"But Captain Luffy won't be pleased with the mast-"
"I'm his first mate. I have authority, so I say you leave the stupid piece of wood and bandage your hands. You'll get blood all over it anyway." Zoro said in an annoyed tone.
"...yes sir."
Zoro's face scrunched up at that as his face burned a little hot.
"Don't call me that. It's Zoro." He snapped at you half heartedly.
With all being said, Zoro led you to the lounge area, which sat at the back of the ship. While grabbing the railing to walk up the steps, you pulled back and grit your teeth when what felt like a splinter snagged itself into your open flesh.
You go to pull the piece of wood out, only for a voice to snap at you.
"C'mon. Don't mess with your cuts until we get in the lounge." He said, looking back despite not seeing too well in the dark.
You complied, this time not touching the railing as you walked upwards.
As soon as you both entered the lounge, Zoro turned to you and cussed under his breathe after catching sight of your visible hands.
"I cut you pretty damn bad. Stay here."
He left the room quickly, leaving you in an awkward silence as you studied your own hands.
Your rough, scarred hands had new wounds added to them. The cuts were smooth, something that could easily heal, but the depth of the cuts would be a problem you concluded. You eyed the splinter launched in the exposed meat and with care and patience, grabbed the tip of it with your other hand, slowly pulling the intruder out of the pulsing mess of blood and skin.
Despite the obvious pain of removing the splitter, there was this euphoric relief. The wound throbbed and burned, but it became a more comfortable and dull sensation.
The door opened, snatching your attention away from the cuts on your hands. Zoro walked in, glancing at your ands before dropping the kit he had in his hand.
"What the- did you pick at it???"
You stared sheepishly at the moss headed man, who snapped at you once more.
"Dumbass!!!"
Zoro stomped over and grabbed your hands, inspecting the damage before releasing your wrists again.
"We gotta wash it a little." He sighed while brute forcing the kit open. He dug into the kit in search of something before he looked at you with a confuzzled look.
"What the hell are you sitting there for? Wash your hands there, idiot!" He pointed to the sink in exasperation.
"Yes sir."
"Oi! Stop calling me that!"
Zoro wrapped your hands tight in gauze and medical tape, slapping your hands away when you tried to do it yourself.
"Both of your hands are injured. You're in no condition to wrap these yourself." He excused despite you stating that you had worse.
Once he was done, he looked over your hands, subconsciously rubbing a thumb over a long healed scar that was located on the back of your hand.
While you allowed him to inspect your hands, you couldn't help but notice how little focus he was giving the recent injuries given by yours truly.
He grumbled something that you couldn't make out, before he removed his own calloused hands and sat on the other chair he leaned his swords against.
"It's done. Tony can look at it tomorrow..."
You nodded, ready to stand up and leave to finish what you started before Zoro stopped you.
"That means go to bed."
"...I was?" You said as you made a funny face.
The man scoffed at you narrowed his eyes.
"You're a terrible liar. Less convincing than the long nose."
You didn't have time to answer before Zoro pointed to the door with his thumb.
"Go to sleep. We can worry about the hunk of wood in the morning... or afternoon. Seeing that you chose to stay up late." He snarked.
You opened your mouth, about to speak when he stopped you.
"And don't call me what you're about to call me."
"Call you what, sir?"
"...go to fucking bed." Zoro hissed.
'How troublesome' he would think as he watched the (h/c) head towards the room that Sat between Nami's and the boy's quarters.
He didn't think they would cause issues so soon...
And he didn't think he'd give a shit so fast...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry for the rough start, fellas. I've lost my touch lmao.
I wanna do a slow burn type of deal where the yanderes slowly turn yandere, some slower/faster than others.
I'm not gonna make it painfully slow, don't worry, it'll maybe at least a few weeks or a month for the characters before they become yanderes.
No hate at all to other fics that do this, but I'd like to think the obsession isn't within the first second they meet. If that's the case, then they may as well randomly grow attached to everyone they meet lol (but that's just me. Just a lil nit pick.)
But anywho, I'll be making the aftermath of this fic.
Goodnight 🌙

Part 20 Fishman Island (Sorry if this is a lot)
They make it to Fishmen Island, with Reader amazed left and right from everything and seeing all the different Merfolk
Reader is with Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, Ace and Sanji, rencounter Camie and meet the Medika Mermaid Quintuplets (Who are swarming around Reader since she’s small and very cute)
She was concerned when her Big Brother Sanji started sobbing seeing all the Mermaids (Which Zoro and Ace told her he’s fine)
Reader was hiding along with her brothers from the Royal Family (But was begging along with Luffy to get a blood donation for Sanji) and went to town to get blood for Sanji
Y/N was very shy meeting and thanking Madam Shirley
However Reader was really happy to see Nami again (And Nami made sure to take all the kids clothes for Y/N) and was surprised to meet Neptune, the King (She calls Neptune ‘Mr. King’ or ‘Mr. Neptune’)
She and everyone else were surprised to find out they’re invited to the Palace (But doesn’t know why everyone is shocked about them being invited)
When they got to the palace, Y/N was in awe of the Giant Palace and was surprised that Neptune was being scolded, and go along with Luffy and Ace in a bubble to find food, only to meeting the Giant Mermaid Princess named Shirahoshi
Though Reader was horrified to see a giant axe trying to hit Shirahoshi, which Ace and Luffy deflected it to protect Shirahoshi
Reader *Politely* told Luffy to stop being mean to Shirahoshi, and would comfort Shirahoshi whenever she started to tear up (She can understand Shirahoshi’s fear of the outside world)
Shirahoshi and Reader instantly click and form a bond over their shared fear of the outside world, but it’s Y/N who encourages Shirahoshi in seeing the outside world (As Reader’s now a bit more brave and optimistic thanks to her family showing her that she’s allowed to live and be free *Which makes Ace and Luffy smile, happy that Y/N feels and thinks that way*)
Reader feels sorry for what Shirahoshi and her family had to go through after the death of their mother Otohime (And brings Otohime back to life, shocking the Civilians, Hody Jones and his crew and the Royal Family)
Y/N had to hide with Shirahoshi since Hody Jones demanded her and Shirahoshi (As Hody saw Reader is the only Human that he would need alive and plans to use her power to his bidding, even if it’s against her will, something he bragged at Luffy and Ace, resulting in him getting an even harder smack down)
Y/N freaked out when her brother Luffy needed a Blood Transfusion and no one was willing to give any, resulting in her begging Chopper to use her blood (This was a shocking development since they know how Y/N feels about her blood being taken) only for Jinbei to come in a say he’s willing to give his blood since they have the same blood type (Y/N was so grateful she started bawling because her brother Luffy isn’t going to die!)
Otohime willingly adopts Reader to show that there can be change between the Human and Fishfolk (As thanks for bringing her back to life to her family and people, with Reader being proof that not all humans are bad and evil)
Reader wanted to help Jinbei by bringing back Fisher Tiger, but he gently told her no, as Tiger suffered a lot while alive, but maybe if he met Reader during his time alive, maybe, just maybe the hatred and agony wouldn’t have such a strong hold on him (And maybe Tiger finally feels at peace in the afterlife all thanks to Reader and Luffy)
During the huge Banquet, everyone is laughing, dancing, smiling, eating and drinking (Y/N is drinking juice with Ace)
Though everyone was wondering why Y/N is carrying a pillow with her (Thinking she might be tired) only for her to show them by her being quick enough to move Ace’s food out the way and instead with a pillow for him to face plant on (Making Luffy and the others cackle realizing the pillow is for Ace and not her, showing how kind Y/N is for her family)
However, when Y/N went out to play with some of the Fishmen children (With adult supervision from ) she wasn’t there when Luffy was talking with Big Mom, with the threat to make Fishman Island become his territory
Y/N and everyone Pinky Promises Shirahoshi that they’ll always be friends (Reader was the most excited to do a Pinky Promise because she was told it’s an ‘Unbreakable Bond’ between friends and family)
Sorry if this is a lot, I’m trying to remember what happened in this arc and I don’t mind if this gets abridged
I will say this about this piece, since this arc is so massive: this will be heavily abridged, so it won’t include all details that occurred in this arc.
-When you woke up, you were with Usopp, Ace, Sanji, Luffy and Chopper, and while you were worried about the others, Luffy assured you that they were fine, and your group would meet up with them a little later.
-You were amazed walking around, seeing the beautiful buildings and so many different types of Fishman people, there were so many shapes, sizes, and species.
-You then heard a voice, “Y/N!” your eyes lit up as you smiled, rushing towards a familiar face, “Camie!” the two of you hugged each other, Camie sighing deeply as she held you in her arms before she pulled back, tears in her eyes, “I never got to thank you Y/N- for what you did for me in the Auction House. So, thank you Y/N- thank you all! I’m so happy to see you all again!”
-Ace patted both of you on the head as you were both comically crying, others staring at the two of you, thinking you were both adorable.
-You then heard a new voice, “Who’s this?” and, “Who’s that?” and, “I don’t know.”, then,  “She’s so little!” and finally, “But she’s cute!” You were amazed, finding yourself surrounded by five mermaids who were very similar before Camie introduced them at the Medaka Mermaid Quintuplets, Ichika, Nika, Sanka, Yonka, and Yonka Two, before introducing you to them.
-They swam around you, using their bubble rings, complimenting you on how tiny and cute you were while you were smiling, telling them that they were so cute which made all six of you smile so brightly!
-You were lying low with the others in Camie’s house, for some reason you were hiding from the Royal Family, Usopp wouldn’t tell you when you asked him, he just said you all had to hide for a while, as they believed that you all were being hunted to be brought before the Royal Family.
-You turned back to see Sanji collapsed, bleeding out again from seeing all the mermaids and you were quickly in tears, sobbing that Sanji was going to die, wanting to heal him. Ace tried to tell you that he was fine, that this was normal, but you sniffled, looking up at Ace and Luffy, begging to go with them to get a blood donation.
-They were unable to resist your teary eyes, and Luffy agreed, and you all headed out along with Camie, seeking out someone called Madam Shyarly.
-She was another mermaid, a shark type one, but she was so much bigger than Camie was, and while she welcomed everyone to her Mermaid Café warmly, you hid behind Ace’s leg, feeling a bit shy.
-You could feel that she could be dangerous if she wanted to be, and there was something about her that was unusual, but you couldn’t put your finger on it.
-You were shocked when you learned that she was Arlong’s half-sister, and you realized that’s why she felt dangerous, but she was nice, giving you a room to treat Sanji in. Shyarly was nice to you, letting you sit on her lap as you drank some juice that was prepared while Chopper was treating Sanji.
-You beamed when you saw Nami and the others all arrive, greeting them all and Nami beamed, showing you a shopping bag, “Time to play dress up Y/N!” you lifted your arms up, cheering with her while Robin and the mermaids all giggled, thinking you were adorable.
-You were put into a long sleeve dress that looked like mermaid scales, dark green in color and you twirled, “It’s so pretty!” Camie smiled warmly at you, telling you how cute you looked, “These are really popular with human children, and I can see why!”
-King Neptune was even bigger than Shyarly, but unlike Shyarly, whom you were hesitant, at first, he was different, he felt warm and kind as he introduced himself and you smiled, “It’s nice to meet you Mr. King Neptune.”
-The King was nearly assassinated by cuteness, falling to the floor, clutching his chest as your family and the mermaids all laughed, thinking it was funny.
-Everyone was stunned to hear his invitation to come to the palace, but you were more confused as to why everyone was shocked.
-The palace was enormous!! It was also super pretty and everywhere you looked you found something new, something more to look at.
-You, Ace, and Luffy were shooed away while Neptune was being scolded, with Luffy leading the charge to seek out food.
-You came to a massive door, one that was so big that you probably would have fallen on your rear if you weren’t in the bubble and inside you found what you thought was the biggest mermaid you would ever see.
-She was a bit scared, before she calmed, realizing that the three of you weren’t bad people, introducing herself as the Mermaid Princess, Shirahoshi and welcomed your brothers to enjoy her food.
-Shirahoshi was so gentle with you, letting you sit on her hand as she asked you questions about the surface world, and you asked her questions, the two of you instantly hitting it off, bonding over your curiosity of the world.
-You pouted lightly at Luffy when he made Shirahoshi cry, being a bit rude, but you were quick to find that Shirahoshi was a bit of a crybaby, but Luffy did appease you and apologized to her, but she was quick to bounce back, and you helped calm her down if she did get teary eyed.
-Shirahoshi could tell that Y/N was a lot like her, cautious and fragile, scared of the outside world, “You’re so brave Y/N- you go out into the world with no fear. I wish I could be like you.”
-You smiled up at her, “My big brothers and the rest of my family keep me safe, and they teach me lots! It’s not like… I’m free now and they let me be free!” They had all heard the pause, your two brothers sharing a hard look between them.
-Your past is something you had yet to be able to tell them anything about, other than a few vague details, but they hoped you would be ready one day to tell them everything.
-When a giant axe flew in, Shirahoshi was quick to shield you, despite being afraid herself, but Luffy and Ace were easily able to deflect it, and she told you about Vander Decker and both Ace and Luffy grinned, promising to keep her safe as well.
-It did cause quite a commotion when you all arrived in the main hall, seeing the Royal Family, Hody Jones and his crew, several civilians who were concerned, the rest of your crew, with Shirahoshi in tow, as she chose to believe Ace and Luffy.
-Hody had come, furious that Neptune had invited humans into the palace, “Don’t you remember what they did to Queen Otohime?! All humans should be exterminated!!”
-You were scared, shying away before you looked up at Shirahoshi as her brothers came over to watch over her, “Who is Queen Otohime?” Shirahoshi told you and the others about her mother, and how she had been attacked and killed by humans, as she had been working on the relationship between humans and Fishmen.
-Nami’s eyes went wide, gasping, “Y/N!” all eyes went to you as your horn flared to life in Shirahoshi’s arms, as you had started crying, hearing about her mommy, hearing how nice she was, and your powers, just like in Skypeia, brought her back from nothing.
-All eyes went wide as Otohime reformed and gasped loudly, looking just as she did the day she was killed, stunning all in attendance.
-You fell to your rear, feeling a bit dizzy as your fever started taking over, Luffy quickly pulling you into his arms as the Royal Family all rejoiced and within minutes, after civilians and guards ran out, everyone knew that a human child brough Otohime back to life.
-Hody was stunned, seeing this, before quickly seeing you as the only human worthy of keeping alive as he cracked his knuckles, “Oi- hand over the princess and that brat- she’s the only one I’ll keep alive. She’s going to bring back more Fishmen, so we can take over.” Ace turned, a fierce glare in his eyes, balls of fire appearing in his hands, “Y/N’s powers are for her to use as she wants! She won’t be used by anyone ever again!!”
-Hody just smirked, immediately turning himself into the Straw Hat’s biggest enemy, “I’ll do what I want with her- and if she doesn’t, I’ll just beat her until she does.” Otohime was stunned, hearing this before a massive brawl happened.
-Otohime quickly turned, “Shirahoshi take Y/N and flee!” Her daughter looked scared, but she felt something new as Luffy turned, giving you to her and she cradled you carefully and took off, rushing out of the palace, fleeing away with you.
-It was hours later when the Straw Hats found you and Shirahoshi, with help from Camie and Jinbei. Your fever was gone, as you had gotten to rest and you got to meet Jinbei, who you recognized, “You helped Luffy when I thought Ace and grandpa died.”
-Jinbei smiled gently down at you, you were so sweet as you held his hand, having no fear, as you knew that he was a nice person and you found out that they were going to be going to war against Hody and his army who shared his views about humans.
-You were watching from the Sunny, having been brought there by Brook, “Just stay here Y/N- you’re in charge of guarding the ship!” He meant it as a joke, as they were all going to be between you and the army, but you were ready to defend it! How- you didn’t know but you were going to do it!
-Otohime, who was still causing shock with her resurrection, tried to appeal to Hody and his men before the impending battle, telling them that they didn’t need to do this- as there were both good and bad humans, just like there were good and bad Fishmen.
-You gasped as Hody slapped her hard, sending her to the ground and Shirahoshi started crying loudly, even louder than before as Luffy pulled Otohime to safety, getting her back towards Shirahoshi.
-You froze, seeing the Sea Kings quickly surrounding Shirahoshi, coming to her aid, sensing her distress, which made everyone else freeze in awe as well, seeing this, but apparently this was something of importance to Fishmen, as there was a prophecy about the mermaid princess being able to do this.
-The Sea Beasts were docile, for the moment, as they were tending to Shirahoshi, who was wondering what was going on before they swam away, Otohime managing to calm her down before they started rampaging.
-You were safe on the ship, watching the fight and you were in awe, watching how strong everyone was now, seeing all of their new attacks and strength, your eyes sparkling.
-You heard a sound behind you, and you turned, your eyes instantly going wide, seeing one of Hody’s men who managed to sneak on board, to grab you.
-Your eyes were wide in fear as he approached, “Hody’s going to be so pleased with me! And you’re going to help us bring all our friends back!”
-Your eyes trembled in fear, falling to your rear as you stared up at this scary fishman, memories reentering your mind of your life before you came to this world, before Luffy, before you were safe, seeing similar men leering down and reaching down to you.
-He grabbed you, lifting you by the front of your shirt and you felt something hit your chest and your eyes widened, it was your baby sword! You quickly pulled it from its sheath and stabbed him in the arm, nothing fatal, but he did drop you, clutching at his arm before you heard Ace, “Duck Y/N!” you did as you were told as Ace flew in, kicking the fishman away from you.
-He was stunned, seeing the bloody baby sword in your hand, you had stabbed that man, but now you were in shock and Ace glared slightly before throwing the offender off the ship and he remained there, to keep everyone unfriendly away from Sunny and you.
-When you saw Luffy, after the battle, Chopper saying he needed a blood transfusion, you were beside yourself, being brought off the ship, but Usopp caught you, holding you as you struggled, “Let me go! Let me heal Luffy!” Nami was trying to calm you, “He needs blood Y/N- you may heal his wounds but he would still need blood!”
-Others, Otohime and the fishmen who laid down their arms, stopping the fight, where stunned when you pulled up your sleeve, showing your heavily scarred arm, in tears, “Take my blood then! Chopper please use my blood!”
-Your family froze, as you were notoriously terrified of anything medical, even a checkup, and to see you willingly offering your blood, breaking down in harsh sobs, you broke their hearts.
-You laid on Jinbei’s chest, clutching at his shirt as you cried, thanking him as he shared his own blood with Luffy, something that was unheard of for humans and fishmen.
-Once wounds were wrapped and peace appeared again on Fishman Island, a massive banquet, with everyone, even civilians, were invited to come and celebrate with the Straw Hats and the Royal Family.
-Otohime stunned everyone there, once everyone was in attendance, by kneeling before you, “Y/N- you gave me my life back, for this I thank you, and you have showed me that no matter how big or small you are, anyone can do anything. I will claim it here and now, as Queen, Y/N is now my adopted daughter!!”
-Jaws dropped all around before loud cheers went around your family, as you now had more allies as Otohime hugged you tightly, smiling down at you.
-You had some quiet time with Jinbei during the party, while Luffy was going to see what was taking Shirahoshi so long, along with Sanji and Zoro, and you asked him, “Do you miss Fisher Tiger? Do you want me to bring him back?”
-Jinbei felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes, seeing how selfless you were, petting your hair softly, “I do miss him, Y/N. But no- he suffered a lot while he was alive, but I have a feeling he’s happy now, especially because of you and Luffy.” You looked up at him, smiling softly, “Really?” he chuckled softly, nodding.
-It was a bit odd, about twenty minutes later, when you walked by with a large pillow, as many were curious that you wanted to lie down, Robin and Nami, and even Otohime offered to take you someplace quiet so you could rest, but you just smiled, “It’s not for me!”
-You joined Ace at a large table, enjoying some juice that he got you, and everyone was watching you keep looking up at Ace, like you were watching something before Ace suddenly froze.
-You managed to grab his plate and put the pillow on the table as he face planted down, having a soft landing this time as everyone around howled with laughter, thinking it was funny but also so sweet how attentive you were being.
-Otohime saw you fiddling with your cross necklace, as Ace had told everyone that you had stabbed someone with your baby sword to defend yourself, something that was quite shocking, but Otohime didn’t know that as she was sitting with you while Luffy was talking with Big Mom, claiming Fishman Island as his territory now, “What’s that Y/N?”
-You beamed, pulling out the blade to show her, “A baby sword!” her eyes went wide, worried you would hurt yourself with it, “NO!” as more roars of laughter filled the room, before Brook explained that your baby sword was a gift, and that you didn’t really know how to use it.
-Shirahoshi was trying hard not to cry as you got ready to leave, and you could feel your own tears pricking at the corners of your eyes and everyone in the crew, including you, touched pinkies with Shirahoshi, making a pinkie promise to be friends forever.
-You waved goodbye to your new adoptive family as they all shouted for you to visit, something you were looking forward to, unaware of the dark cloud looming, waiting for you at the next destination.

HELLO HI let me start this off by saying i love your posts so so much they are so silly
Anyways since opla season 2 has been confirmed, what are some things you REALLY want to see? Im genuinely curious
so i'm assuming they will start off with loguetown and end with alabasta. i'm hoping that since the first season was so successful netflix will order a FEW more episodes (ideally ten or more) but I have to stay realistic so I know every detail won't translate to screen
a lot of the anime loguetown arc was filler (zoro mopping the marine's floors, luffy running around lost and drinking milk at a bar, sanji entering a random cooking competition) and I know there's a few things they're unlikely to skip (zoro aquiring kitetsu & hopefully throwing the sword in the air to see if it'll chop his arm off, luffy on the executioner's platform, smoker) but i really they have time for
-nami n usopp bonding. especially the moment where usopp faced off against daddy the parent bc not only was nami there supporting him/willing to fight for him, but it also was a glimpse into his complicated relationship with his father. daddy the parent quit his job so he could spend more time with his daughter, while yasopp completely abandoned usopp. it was also so cute when they were fangirling over sanji together -i'm so excited to see inaki laughing with his head in the stocks seconds away from death I just know he's going to devour that scene -there probably won't be time but it would be funny if we see luffy n zoro on their lunch date with a combined zero dollars in their pocket and buggy ends up covering their bill without knowing who they were -i'm can't wait to see who they cast as smoker!!!! their casting has been honestly great so far so i'm looking forward to the reveal
laboon the giant whale. LABOON THE GIANT WHALE !!! I know in the grand scheme (at least from a standalone season perspective) he's not that important to the plot. but by god !!!! give us the depressed whale that luffy gives the will to live back to!!!! practical effects are very important to the one piece team I think they can figure it out
whiskey peak is going to be controversial but I hope luffy n zoro's fight goes EXACTLY like it does in the anime & manga (aka they're so in sync that they're punches are meeting in the middle and they're yelling in unison & five minutes later they're laughing about the prospect of meeting a warlord). this arc also requires the writers to let zoro have his funny guy routine because him hecking the agents is so good
while I don't know if we'll see zoro fighting a triceratops and saying "oh so u do three sword style too" we NEED to see him do his stupid pose in the wax. season ruined if not. (jk but its very high on my list)
chopper my wittle cutie. I know we'll see him no matter what but I'm banking on a puppet. i'm pretty sure its already confirmed that they're using practical effects for him, but I heard maybe prosthetics which could be a hit or a miss
nami and vivi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! karu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm truly on the edge of my seat to see how they'll handle zoro n sanji's rivalry considering they've made the decision to base it around their relationship with luffy. the girls WILL be fighting
similarly excited to see live action sanji fawning over not only nami but also his little meow meow luffy (fantastic change from the anime imo)
crocodile better be the greasiest motherfucker I hope he's absolutely vile. i can't wait to see him wearing a FUR lined coat in a desert
I also know they're going to go off with pell's character design
ACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this spread is very interesting. a clear nod for elbaf and maybe we can find some clues for future arc.
thanks to @kathitah for this colored spread.
Tumblr media
we are now nearing the end of the egghead arc in the manga. brogy and dory already appeared to lead them to elbaf the last island before raftel. and probably the last road ponegliff will be there. also, the much awaited reunion of jaguar d saul and nico robin.
i know oda most of the time put clues on his cover spreads and chapters for future arcs and maybe this spread will tell us something.
notice that zoro's face is serious but it looks somber/sad. among the boys in this spread, he is the only one who is not looking happy here. his head down like he is contemplating with a frown.
Tumblr media
I've been thinking for a while now that oda is saving zoro to have a major conflict with their captain/luffy.
their fight during whiskey peak when luffy thought zoro killed everyone without a reason (not knowing it was a setup, and the people were BW agents) was not a major clash between them. it was done for comedic purposes and there was no emotional conflict involved.
we are already done with usopp and sanji. they got their very emotional and major clash with luffy.
1st Usopp duel during water 7/enies lobby arc: the heartbreaking decision for going merry. usopp fight with luffy. usopp left the crew.
2nd Sanji duel during the zou/whole cake island arc: sanji left the crew due to his family's background and big mom threat. sanji's fight with luffy and luffy not fighting him back. still believing sanji would return to them.
the key factor why these 2 duels were so heartbreaking is due to the emotional conflict that the characters were going through.
zoro is seen as the most loyal to luffy. never betrayed him and will follow luffy to the end. and if luffy orders zoro to kill anyone, he will do it without a doubt. he is the vice captain, second in command not even once he questions luffy's action.
in one episode post-enies lobby when luffy is happy to know usopp wants to rejoin the crew, we saw a glimpse of zoro "angered" towards luffy almost confrontational. he acted as a serious vice captain/second-in-command and reminds everyone they are pirates they have a code to follow.
luffy should act as a captain and let usopp admit his mistake and say sorry before letting him back to the crew. zoro even threatens to leave the team if they accept usopp easily as if nothing happened.
just putting my tinfoil hat on.
so many things going on now in op due to gorosei, the void century reveal etc... but i have a feeling that there'll be a plot in the future that will put zoro and luffy's bond to the test. a serious conflict between them. they will get their major emotional fight. a duel like with sanji and usopp.
i dont think zoro will betray luffy but my theory is that there will be a plot that zoro will not agree to luffy's decision/action that will lead to a duel. im debating if their conflict will have zoro temporarily leave the crew just like what happened to usopp and sanji. of course that conflict will be resolved after many chapters and zoro will return to the crew.
i thought wano will be a perfect setup for zoro and luffy to have a major clash (cos you know land of samurai, zoro's lineage etc) but wano has too many moving pieces and storyline to cover so my speculation that during elbaf arc zoro and luffy will have a duel.
elbaf is very fitting if you think about it the land of the giants. land of warriors. oda is a writer and he plotted things ahead of time so luffy versus zoro on elbaf is not a far fetch theory.

I watched the Storyteller version of Sapsorrow and knew it sounded familiar! I read "The Magic Fish" by Trung Le Nguyen. It's a graphic novel about a young Vietnamese boy struggling to come out to his friends and parents, particularly because they're immigrants and he feels they might not understand. His mother and him bond over fairy tales and there are three main tales in the novel that are used thematically, the first is Tattercoats (i.e; Sapsorrow), the second is a Vietnamese story Tâm Cám, and the third is the little mermaid. The Tattercoats story is a little different than the Sapsorrow Storyteller version or your version, but the art is beautiful I seriously recommend the book from the art alone (and if not the art, the Vietnamese fairy tale is kind of like Cinderella at the beginning but so interesting and full of plot twists).
I have to thank you for introducing me to Storyteller though, I'm gonna have fun looking at all their other retellings.
Oh my goodness, I know The Magic Fish! I haven't read that one in years!! Thank you for reminding me it exists, sweet snail. I adore it.
Tumblr media
Of the Storyteller Series (1988), I have littered some of the plot points in several others.
Remember Me: (Shanks x Bride!Reader), I had "the true bride" in mind. Particularly her apprehension at having her hair touched. In the story in that case, it was a promise to not let another person kiss their cheek - in mine it was a sweep of the hair.
Drawing inspiration from things that impact your heart is so much fun. Makes it all the more real, in my humble opinion.
There are only nine episodes: (All are linked to YouTube for ease)
The Soldier and Death
Fearnot
The Luck Child
A Story Short
Hans My Hedgehog
The Three Ravens
Sapsorrow
The Heartless Giant
The True Bride
I would honestly love to write an OP fic for each of these.
Soldier and Death - Zoro He traps death, now unable to die. He has lived his life to the fullest, but death is the only thing that truly fears him. Reader is the reaper, ordered by Death to not claim him. Fearnot - Luffy He's just a sunshine boy who has never been frightened a day in his life. He wants to experience fear. Just once. The Luck Child - Buggy He is a failing forward king, as the usual. Circumstances demand his death, he continues to thrive. A Story Short - Usopp He has to perform a series of storytelling adventures and present them towards the court for a hundred days. On the hundredth day, he has come up with nothing. What will he do? Hans My Hedgehog - Corazon He will only reveal himself to his wife at night, cursed as a monster within the hours of daylight. She wants to break him of this curse, but has no knowledge to help him. The Three Ravens - Sanji Just imagine Sanji desperately crying out for his love to grace him with the sound of her voice, begging her to say something to aid in her defence - bound to the stake and threatened with death if she does not speak. Ahhhhh. Screaming. Sapsorrow - The one I'm actively working on with Mihawk The Heartless Giant - Doflamingo Speaks for itself, truly. He just is. I could also do this for Sir Crocodile, if I wasn't too busy shipping him with @empressofmankind's Shivs. The True Bride - Already partially did for Shanks. I would love to visit this trope again for him though. Have him be the one with amnesia trope.
Honestly, I would love to do this as a massive moot fairytale collaborative au.
@since-im-already-here - what say you, sis? You reckon I've got the characters and the prompts down for each series?
@gingernut1314, do you know this jim henson series? You want to take a crack at one of them?
@writingmysanity - go on. I know you want to do the Corazon. You so, so want to do the Corazon.
@sordidmusings 👀 c'mon now. Romance, pining. Angst. All that good stuff, dear.
@feral-artistry, you've even already drawn some puppets. You know you want to....

Now that opla season two is semi-confimed and the script has been written,
I'm trying to fit myself into the producer's shoes and map out the contents for the future seasons, especially season 2.
.
Season 2
* Steven Maeda was regretting that they couldn't incorporate Loguetown. I see it as no looking back. Straw hats won't visit there. Smoker and Dragon may interact in an entirely different scenario at Logue town (chasing after Buggy and Alvida?) and Zoro may get his swords elsewhere. Smoker decides to chase after this new Pirate crew. Tashigi may appear as a background role, she'll be left at Logue town and take charge in Smoker's absence.
* We're not visiting Laboon's stomach. Crocus will be chilling outside. Luffy will rile up Laboon and paint the jolly roger. Less than 15 minutes before location changes.
* Whiskey peak will be completely adapted. The producers know the appeal of zoro More importantly, shooting indoors is cost effective. I think this is where Vivi is introduced, the rest of the story remains the same.
* Igaram will die. The eternal pose to Arabasta could be directly passed from him (or plan B, written below)
* Little Garden is either skipped or completely rewritten. The giants aren't there, maybe they already left for Elbaf (or worse, killed offscreen by Baroque works agents). As a wild card, Gaimon story could be merged, where he shares the tale of the giants. Maybe the giant goldfish makes it in for the Usopp gag. Nami will be bitten by a mystery bug and will immediately fall sick.
If we're lucky, Mr. 3's wax house stays. Maybe Sanji will be the one who beats Mr. 3 directly and secures the eternal pose to Arabasta.
* Drum island to cure Nami. I'm not sure what they'll do with Chopper but I assume they'll use prosthetics, Chopper will stay in Heavy Point for the most time. The will of D scene is kept. Wapol is significantly watered down but I think he'll make it in.
* 1-1.5 for the Arabasta lore (the Yuba visit plotline could be adjusted to merge with Katorea/Rain dinners), 2 episodes for everyone's fights and the Civil war plotline. Smoker is heavily included, maybe Ace stays till the end to help them out.
* The scene of Vivi's farewell and Robin's recruitment wraps up the season.
Future seasons
* As for season 3 which could be the final season, they may try to end on a high note and move to Enies Lobby instead of Skypiea. Considering actor's ages and other limitations, I don't think it's unlikely.
* There would be an original extended plot at Jaya to prove the existence of a Sky island via Montblanc Cricket and his excavated golds. But that's it. Maybe Cricket also found the skypiea poneglyph somewhere in the forest that fell from the sky long time ago. Bellamy could be the arc villain and the one to attack Cricket, Luffy beats him and Cricket shares some of his Gold as a gratitude.
* Long Ring Long Land stays to let the crew bond with Robin (Matt Owens said he likes this arc).
* if we're LUCKIER and get to season 4, Thriller bark subplot would only be a single episode and heavily focused on Brook's joining. Zoro scene stays, Moriah might be fodderized by Kuma the same way Krieg was this season.
*Shabondy arc another episode, Amazon Lily one episode, Impel Down two episodes. Marineford is cut short and simplified.
I can't extend my imagination past pre timeskip lol but I'd love to be proven wrong.

In a nightly delirium, me and my friend created this hellish crossover no body asked for. It started as a joke but quickly spiraled into just ... us fully giving the Strawhat crew full classpects and (lazy) Alternian names !!! Just a little brainstorm experiment
Idk does this hurt more the Homestuck or One piece audience... This definitely has been done before
BIG Rambles and explanations below (SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE)
- SO most of these we based on their canon birthdays, except for Robin, Franky and Jinbei for variety and like... How can I not make Jinbei a violet given he is a fish man
Luffy:
-Literally both Heir and Breath fit Luffy so well, given how much change he causes in others and the situation around him. Heir means “a person who inherits” and in the Homestuck world they create and bring change via their aspect, and he really does create change. He values freedom and plus the sign of “The Liberated” really fits if you know what recently developed in the manga ;)
-I think even in alternia he would be the same, even though I dont think Alternia has pirates ( maybe there are space pirates). So lets say he wants to rule as a Space fleet captain but doesnt want it to be under the Condesce so he intentionally/unintentionally starts a revolution.
- Also he very much wouldnt care about the Hemospectrum, like the carefree lad he is
Zoro :
-Another one that wasnt very hard to fit into. Hes a fighter, he had a kinda difficult life and is generally very action oriented which fits very much into Time-bound. The Knight aspect was put in more for his connection with Luffy and how he vowed to always be by his side, but he also generally protects his friends a lot. Hes very much a servant in his own goal of becoming the strongest swordsman. But ,especially in the earlier arcs, Zoro was always dealt with heavy punches and wounds, yet he still fought through them and pushed foward.
- Again would be very similar to how he is in the series, just maybe like is in an underground fighting rink or something to look for strong players
Nami: - Blood seems like an odd fit for Nami in particular, but it was chosen mostly cuz its an aspect tied to connection and Nami is a very sneaky individual. She is a thief and knows how to swindle ppl in her favor but she did it for her village, her closest bond at the time. Plus Blood-bound are usually seen as spiritual leaders, which I think fits her as the teams navigator. The thief class is mostly there for her thieving nature
- Also you'll notice that some of these guys are pretending to be some other blood casts for story reasons. For Nami specifically, since Lime bloods in homestuck canon are dead, lets say she hides as a teal so she doesnt get killed. Plus it wouldnt be beyond her to have a few different colored outfits to blend in the higher casts so she can steal stuff better
Usopp:
-Of course this giant ass liar would pretend hes a higher cast then he actually is. Honestly Id think he would lie he is a full violet, but he doesnt have fins, so lets make a stretch he lies about being an olive cuz hes being more realistic. He went to the extend of getting clothes from a dead olive that has blood so he can like “prove hes really an olive (the clothes clearly dont fit). Plus id assume he would be very scared of high bloods, so olives (being the most secluded) would be something he likes
- For his classpect, Hope bounds are kinda liars, which fits him perfectly. Theyre also very imaginitive and dreamers. Usopp wants to be this great warrior, but he knows he doesnt really have the means to be, so he fakes it. He spins himself a false hope narrative with his tall tales. But Hope-bounds are also driven to be heroes and help. Despite being scared and cowardly, Usopp always manages to get up and help his friends in times of crisis, making hope for himself and sometimes others, thus his Page class.
Sanji: - Ohohohoho this one was super fucking fun. Other then the obvious, Heart bounds are driven by their passions and ideals and so is Sanji. He is willing to defend them at all times and is proud of them. He isnt willing to hide from it. Now the prince would be a little contradictory for everything ive mentioned about Sanji, but it was chosen mostly for his past and how he had to destroy his princely title to become who he wanted to be. Plus he literally is a prince so it had to be done
- By his own birthday he would be a Fuscia, and in this hypothetical universe Ive made the executive decision that the Condesces epmire got so big she couldnt rule over it all by herself so she genetically engendered 5 fuscia kids (Sanji and his siblinds) to help her rule, but obviously her ran from it.  He hides a Bronze so he could persue his cooking passions
Chopper:
-Another one that isnt too hard, he is a doctor and a healer so he got the most healer classpect combo.
- sorry my child you were just simple
Robin:
- She is a Violet by her birthday, but idk it just didnt really fit her personality and general vibe, so she became a Jade for her more motherly mature role in the crew all round. Plus her wanting to live and escape her situation would fit a jade who doesnt want to be be in the brooding caverns
- One more not too complicated classpect. Light- bounds are knowledge seekers and schoolars, which fits Robin well. She is willing to risk everything for the percuit of truth and knowledge. Theyre also kinda mischievous and rule breakers, which i believe Robin has a bit of. Mages are ppl who gains knowledge, which just reiterates what i said
Franky:
- another changed blood cast, only cuz hed be a fuscia and I simply cant see Franky as one.
-He was one of the most difficult to nail down, but I think we did him justice. Now Void seems kinda unfitting for the flashy Franky, but Void was chosen for the fact that Franky is kind of a confusion with his limitless cyborg gadgets. Plus Equius is a void player and he is an engineer so might as well . The Sylph also doesnt seem like the most obvious fit but he kinda is a healer of the Thousand Sunny who he made and maintains, along with other weapons and machinery and even his own body.
Brook:
- His classpect is much more surface level. Space-bounds connected to the arts and Brook is a musician so its a fit. Plus they tend to rescycle things and make them into something new, which kinda goes in line with Brook kinda getting a new life. Maid goes also in line with his musicalness, but also both the Maid players in Homestuck are kinda connected to death
Jinbei:
-Another one that got changed because he just had to be a violet. He is always a fish man its just how it is
- Another one that was difficult, cuz Jinbei is relatively new and doesnt have the mountains of screentime as the rest,  so his classpect was done a little loosely. Rage players are there for truth and justice, but theyre also bring chaos an confusion. This doesnt fit in with Jinbei until you add the prince title, a destroyer class. In my mind this causes a contrast that kinda fits Jinbeis wish for order and stability. He wants to do anything for the people hes close to. Idk his im kinda mulled over cuz I dont know him too well
These were my personal interpretations, feel free to share yours

Bond of Brothers
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: These characters belong to Eiichiro Oda, and the Funimation English Dub series. Also, I just wanted it to be known that I watch the show in the English dub, so those are the voices I imagine for the characters. No monetary gain is being made from this drabble. Set after Episode 377, which is titled “The Pain of My Crewmates Is My Pain! Zoro's Desperate Fight!” because that episode gave me some major big feelings. More in the Author’s Note at the end.
 ---------------
           Brook the famed Humming Swordsman and musician slowly approaches Nico Robin, the woman the World Government has dubbed the “Demon Child” with a look of grave concern and confusion on what remains of his face. After all, he is a skeleton and must show his expression using only bones, yo-ho-ho!
“Nico Robin, may I speak to you?” Brook inquires as he comes to Robin’s side where she is helping Chopper bandage Zoro’s multitude of new injuries.
“But of course you may, Brook,” Robin smiles, standing up and drying her hands on the rag next to her. “Doctor, I will return to help momentarily,” she directs to Chopper, watching as the blue-nosed reindeer methodically cleans and dresses Zoro’s wounds.
“Take your time, Robin! You’ve been a big help already!” Chopper calls, wiping his brow before returning to the task before him.
Brook follows Robin to one of the corners away from the hustle and bustle of the giant feast going on around them.
 ----------------
           “What would you like to speak about, Brook?” Robin sweetly inquires, sitting on the ledge with a small cup of sake in her hands.
It takes the skeleton some time to begin speaking, but Robin never once interrupts the silence, looks bored with the conversation, or lets Brook believe his desire to talk is needless. Her gentle and almost motherly demeanor is one reason why all of the Strawhat crew comes to Robin to talk about anything and everything they need to.
“I saw what the swordsman and the cook tried to do to protect Strawhat Luffy,” Brook eventually admits, a sheepish tone in his voice.
“Ah,” Robin breathes, taking another sip of her sake. “We mustn’t let them know. Their pride would surely suffer, as they did not want these sacrifices to be public information,” she continues, a hint of warning in her voice.
“So, you saw them fight, too?” Brook inquires, sitting down next to Robin as they continue to speak in private.
“No, I was as unconscious as the others,” Robin admits with a smile. “Let’s just say I have my ways,” she winks, holding up one of her magically crafted ears she had used to spy.
“Ah, your Devil Fruit powers, but of course!” Brook nearly shouts, catching on rather quickly. “But why if the two of them fight like… Oh, what is the saying?” Brook trails off, trying to think of the proper expression. “If the two of them fight like cats and dogs, why did they fight so hard to keep one another from sacrificing themselves to Kuma?” the skeleton musician inquires, still attempting to understand the intricacies of the Strawhat crew.
“Because Sanji and Zoro are brothers,” Robin states matter-of-factly, looking over at the blonde cook as he brings Chopper and Nami more pieces of strawberry cake.
The raven-haired archaeologist does not miss the concerned look that passes over Sanji’s face when he looks at the “moss head” swordsman lying supine on the makeshift bed.
           “Not actual brothers, you understand, but the Strawhat crew are very much a family, one I’m grateful to now be a part of,” Robin smiles, casting her gaze over to where Nami is chasing after Luffy and Usopp as the two men drunkenly continue to sing Bink’s Brew despite the skeleton finishing his performance hours ago.
“Ah, so that explains why they both couldn’t let the other sacrifice himself. I see. Or I would, if I had any eyes! Yo-ho-ho!” Brook laughs hysterically.
“Shut up already, you stupid skeleton! I’ll clobber you!” Franky shouts from across the room.
“Yes, but that was also pride and duty, you see. The pride made Sanji think he needed to be the one to sacrifice himself as well as why I heard them say that Zoro told him that wasn’t a cook’s job to die in battle,” she continues to explain, blue eyes reflexively scanning the room to ensure all her crewmates are still safely out of harm’s way. “As for duty, with Luffy being our captain and Zoro our first mate, Zoro’s duty was to take over as Captain since Luffy was incapacitated. Thus, per his duty as first mate and acting Captain, Zoro could not allow anyone else to stand-in for Luffy’s head. It had to be our former pirate hunter.”
“Even as a former pirate, I did not know all of this. Captain Yorki never ran his crew that way. I see why everyone is confident that Monkey D. Luffy and his crew have the power to rule the seas,” Brook admits, pure amazement in his voice.
 --------------------------
           “Brook,” Robin calls as the skeleton prepares to head back to the piano at the request of Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper. “Let us keep this conversation to ourselves. We don’t want to hurt the pride of our swordsman and cook, do we?” she innocently smiles while she stands to go and obtain another cup of sake.
“I wouldn’t dream of talking behind their backs nor yours, Robin,” Brook admits, smiling widely at the archaeologist. “I know how fragile a man’s ego can be! Thank you for talking with me today.”
“Likewise, Brook. Any time you wish to talk, know that I am here.”
With that, the two part ways to enjoy the rest of the celebration on Thriller Bark, the laughter and shouts of the crew raging behind them and into the night.
 ------------------
Author’s Note: This episode gave me a multitude of feelings and my husband and I had such a major conversation similar to this one about the sacrifice Zoro was willing to make. My husband grew up watching One Piece because I was not born when it first aired, but I have always been fascinated with pirates growing up. Thus, I interpreted the situation much differently than he did, as I knew that as first mate it is Zoro’s job to lead and protect the crew when Luffy is unable to act as Captain. My husband believes that Zoro and Sanji fought over who could sacrifice themselves over pride and wanting to save the crew, but I also added to his point that there was a bit of crew dynamics that needed to be taken into account as well. In the nearly three and a half years my husband and I have been together, we have watched One Piece together and it has become extremely near and dear to my heart and I am excited that I get to share that experience of watching it for the first time with him! (We just had our wedding on March 11th, 2023 for reference.) Anyway, Zoro is absolutely my favorite Straw Hat and until Brook showed up during the Thriller Bark arc, my husband told me that Sanji was his favorite Straw Hat Pirate as he didn’t want to spoil the addition of Brook to the crew for me.
 ----------
Thus, since both Brook and Robin witnessed some form of the battle and the big reveal, this story was born. I hope you all enjoyed reading. If you did, please leave me a kudos or a comment, as those really help me understand what parts of my writing people enjoy the most. Until next time, dear readers! I have many more One Piece scenes already written and have ideas for many more! Have an amazing day, afternoon, or night. Thanks for reading.

Chapter 20: Close to you
They were sitting in the galley at an ass crack of dawn.
Not that he could tell it was dawn, everything looked the same all the time. Electric lights were constantly on, the few windows were always dark and a “night” began when the lights went off in the bedroom.
He knew it was morning because the clock on the wall showed a quarter to six. Breakfast was in two hours and the only reason he was up was Law.
The surgeon shook him awake, insisting they should have coffee with Rage. And the insufferable woman was always up with the sun, even when no sunlight reached the ship in nearly two weeks.
He didn't know if Rage was just a natural early riser or if she was trained to do so. Either way, it was annoying.
Law placed a coffee in front of him and took a seat beside Rage.
She smiled widely, raising a giant, steaming cup to her lips and took a sip, completely disregarding that the coffee was piping hot.
"Do you even need to drink it?" he asked, slumping over his own cup. "You have too much energy already."
She shot him a mirthfull look. "Then you should drink more, you'll be less grouchy."
He huffed and took a sip of the black coffee, the bitter taste matched his mood.
He blamed Law. Even the surgeon didn't get up this early, so why the change?
"Why are you always up this early?" he asked Rage.
She just shrugged and took another sip, while Law reached out and took her free hand in his, rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand.
She smiled and tangled their fingers together.
"How much longer until Wano?"
"We should arrive in approximately two days if we don't run into any trouble again," Law replied with a slight frown.
Yeah, that trouble was an overgrown fish that swallowed the boat whole. Apparently that wasn't an unusual occurrence. Law's crew followed some kind of protocol without any panic. The only one making a fool out of himself was Usopp, who was crying like a goddamned little kid. Afterwards Rage made fun of him mercilessly for days.
The ship shot the fish open with torpedos and got out through a hole in the carcass.
Frankly, Zoro was impressed with the firepower.
"How long will it take your crew to reach Wano?" Law asked before taking a sip of his coffee.
Rage swirled the liquid in her cup watching it intently. She didn't respond right away, just stared into the coffee for a while.
"They might already be there."
Zoro frowned. That wasn't possible. "How? Weren't they setting sail from West Blue a few weeks ago?"
 "There are ways to get directly into the Grandline and New World." She didn't take eyes off the cup while she spoke. "Although they're probably following my vivre card, so they'll arrive later than us."
"What ways?"
She sighed and put down her coffee. There was slight tension in the bond but it was quickly replaced by amusement.
"West Blue and New World are separated by the Calm Belt, so the fastest way to travel is through the Belt."
"Isn't that suicide?"
"How do you think marines relocate their troops so quickly? They don't go through Reverse Mountain. Marine ships are covered with seastone, so sea kings don't sense them when they go through the Calm Belt."
"Are you saying you own a ship like that?"
"Fuck no, getting that much sea stone from the Underworld would cost a fortune and attract too much attention," she waved her hand dismissively then grinned and her eyes shined with mischief. "Hijacking a marine ship is way cheaper."
"Sounds like another suicide mission."
"You'd think that only because your crew is incapable of stealth," she shot him a smirk and he rolled his eyes, her jabs at his crewmates were getting old. "The fastest way to take over would be an aerial drop at night, just two or three people. One takes over the communication room, one takes down the guards, and the third one gets the commander. When the comms are down, the rest come in to take down the crew. Fast and clean. Before the nearest marine base learns there's something off, you're on the other side of Calm Belt and taking over a regular ship. All they find is an empty marine ship while you are already far away heading for your destination."
"And more than a hundred people become fish food?"
She snorted. "Forgive me for my lack of tears for dead marines."
"Nami's mother was a marine, someone like her could've been a part of a unit your crew slaughtered to get a ride."
She raised her brows while her expression remained unimpressed. "I don't give a fuck. If there are any "good" marines in the force they're just stupid. If they want to do good, then they should join the Revolutionary Army. Otherwise they're just supporting the rotten system."
"That's harsh."
"You'll change your mind when marines come to Wano for "peacekeeping" operation if we defeat Kaido."
"That's just one of your theories."
She snorted. Her attitude was starting to piss him off.
"You surely were asleep when Kin'emon said there are seastone mines in Wano."
"So what?"
"So even when Wano's borders were closed, they still supplied the Government with seastone," she picked her cup and took a sip. "Wano is currently Kaido's territory and the Government won't mess with him. But with Kaido out of the picture, it's a perfect opportunity to come in under the guise of military aid, take over the whole country and establish a puppet ruler who'll do as they're told. Seastone mines are rare and controlling the mines is power."
Grudgingly Zoro had to admit she had a point. It was one of the more possible scenarios she'd come up with.
"So what's the solution?"
There was a surge in the bond like she was bracing herself. Zoro tilted his head to the side, sending her a questioning look.
"I suppose there are ways to assure Wano's independence," she was again looking into her coffee cup but after a short while she looked him in the eye. "I don't know yet if I want to be involved in anything beyond defeating Kaido."
A deep frown pulled at his lips as he processed her words. He glanced at Law, but the surgeon was looking at Rage with an impassive expression. His part of the bond was quiet as always.
Zoro turned to Rage, her side of the bond was also calm but it felt different, like grounding before a fight.
"So you don't care what happens to Wano."
"I'm saying that I don't know. What I've heard about Wano from Kin'emon, Raizou and Kanjurou is a point of view of privileged upper class, military men and it paints a grim picture. I want to check for myself what kind of place Wano is, and what its people are like. There are societies which crave change for the better, there are those who will stick to their traditions no matter what, even if they are harmful. From what I've heard Wano is a place where classism thrives, trafficking is legal and women are severely oppressed. If that's something that will be upheld after Wano's free then I won't get involved beyond the fight with the Beast Pirates."
"So what happens after we arrive if Wano doesn't pass your vibe check? Will you take Kin'nemons offer and drop from the plan?"
She stared at him, her eyes got that eerie shine that preceded the change into Naga yellow.
Her eyes switched colors when she was overly emotional or stressed. She couldn't control that yet, so it became an important tell.
She did something to the bond to hide her emotions and appear completely calm. Right now, her eyes told a completely different story than the heavy stillness in the bond.
"No. I'll do my part regardless. What comes after is yet to be decided."
"You're going to do something stupid, aren't you?"
She huffed and rolled her eyes, then took a sip of her coffee. "You're so grumpy in the morning. You don't have to be here you know? Nobody's forcing you."
Deflecting again. She did that a lot over the last few days, whenever they were trying to get her to spill her schemes.
Law was getting more and more worried over it and it made Zoro angry. The tension in the both bonds was growing by the day and he didn't like that.
A sharp pain shot up his leg, when a foot connected with his shin under the table.
He turned his gaze towards Law who shot him a warning look.
"I wanted to have a quiet morning with you both, so please stop this nonsense," the surgeon chimed in.
"Oww, that's so sweet," she leaned in to smack a kiss on Law's cheek. "I was going to offer him a blow job to blow some steam, but I guess a well aimed kick under the table works too."
Sex was another method she used often to deflect a difficult conversation. However, he wouldn't say no to a blow job, she was too damn good at it.
Law sighed with exasperation, then reached for the pot and poured himself more coffee.
"Let's track back to your crew. You said there are ways to cross the Calm Belt, which means there are more than the one you mentioned."
She nodded then reached for the pot. Her enormous cup was still half full but she poured more coffee into it then put in a disgusting amount of sugar.
"Aerial," she said, while stirring her coffee. "Flying over is the safest way."
"So there's a fruit user in your crew who can transport everyone over the Calm Belt?"
She nodded over the rim of the cup.
He was waiting for her to say something more, but she just sat there and sipped her coffee. He expected she'd brag about her crew, but she didn't.
"Doflamingo could imitate flying and one of his crew members could actually fly, but I doubt they'd be able to transport so many people at once. Your crewmate's devil fruits must be pretty special."
Law's attempt at getting more information was met with another nod from Rage. She was suspiciously tight-lipped.
"Would you tell us about them? Aside from Kisa-ya you never actually told us anything."
She put the cup down and stared into its content. "I won't. There are boundaries I won't cross even for you."
"What nonsense is that? You know our crews, it's only fair if we know about yours," Zoro bristled with a deep frown.
"You'll get to know them when you meet them. I won't tell you anything," she met his gaze with a sharp stare.
"Yet, you told me they pose a threat, so it's only reasonable to know what my crew will be dealing with," Law explained quietly, only a slight tension in the bond showing that her attitude was getting to him too.
She had the audacity to grin when she turned to Law. "That I did, but I never said you shouldn't retaliate. Just as I won't interfere when they try to mess with you, I won't move a finger if you choose to make a jigsaw out of any of them. They should know better then to mess with my mates, if they fuck up it's all on them."
The devilish smile on her lips made him suspect she'd actually want Law to show off in front of her crew as a sign of some kind of stupid power play.
"This is crazy," he uttered with disapproval.
Rage turned that smile towards him and he felt chills rolling down his back.
"Welcome to my life."
_____________
"Law-dono, there is something we need to speak of."
Kin'emon stood in the entrance to the rec room where everyone had gathered for the final evening before arriving at Wano.
"Would you try summoning Rage-dono? I believe she'd want to hear this too."
Law nodded and gestured for the samurai to come further into the room.
He was wondering when they would decide to reveal whatever they were hiding. There were too many ambiguities in their story and often things didn't add up. It was the reason why Rage stopped coming to planning sessions. She picked up early that things didn't add up and instead of calling out the samurai she just retreated into her own devices.
He pulled on the bond, but she was focused on some kind of activity and shrugged off his request.
"Penguin, go fetch Rage. She blew me off."
The quizzical looks he received from everyone were amusing, but Penguin wasn't happy with the order.
"I'll accompany you," Kin'emon offered with a somber expression.
"There's no need," Law assured with a crooked smile. "She'll listen to him."
At this point Penguin was glowering, but he turned on his heel and stepped out of the room.
"Nobody ask whatever that was about," Usopp stated with a deep frown. "I don't need to know about another messed up shit they got into."
Law sat next to Zoro and draped his arm behind the swordsman's back. "We didn't do anything, it's all between Rage and Penguin's gullibility. It seems he didn't take your warning to heart."
"Still, I don't want to hear about it," the sharpshooter raised his palm in protest.
"Don't worry, it's not anything inappropriate," Shachi assured while handing Law a glass of rum and a bottle to Zoro.
The bickering went back and forth until ten minutes later a song could be heard from the corridor.
"Oh you hear a lot of stories 'bout the sailors and their sport
About how every sailor has a girl in every port
But if you added 2 and 2 you'd figure out right quick
It's just because the girls all have a lad on every ship"
Then Penguin walked in with Rage on his arm. She was looking at him with a wide grin, clearly trying to annoy him, but what surprised Law were her clothes.
She was wearing one of his crew's jumpsuits, with their Jolly Roger stitched on the front. It was unzipped all the way to her waist and she was wearing the standard black tank top that all of his crew wore under their jumpsuits.
The view stirred all sorts of sensations in his chest, possessiveness the most prominent of them all.
"Not gonna happen," Zoro quipped by his side, clearly displeased by the concept of Rage becoming a part of the Heart Pirates crew.
"We'll see," Law smirked at the swordsman before taking a sip of his drink.
"You said there was a party," Rage glared at Penguin with a pout. "This is not a party."
"There's always a possibility. What do you want to drink?"
She glared with disdain before she answered. "A Hurricane."
Penguin sighed, his lips pressed into a flat line, disgruntled with her being difficult on purpose.
"I've got you," Shachi shot up from his seat and clapped Penguin on the shoulder with a toothy grin.
A few minutes later Rage was handed an orange cocktail with a pinkish tint, topped with a slice of orange and a cherry.
She narrowed her eyes at grinning Shachi, then took a careful sip and scowled.
"It's adequate."
Law took offence at her half assed praise.
The whole crew was roped into taste testing countless cocktails, when Shachi got into mixing drinks. And he became quite proficient after some time. He could mix anything from a simple daiquiri to a complex Ramos Gin Fizz. Law and Penguin knew that last one all too well, since apparently they were the only ones on the ship 'with enough tastebuds' to give proper feedback. Law couldn't look at gin or eggs for a long while after that debacle.
"Thanks for the drink," Rage saluted Shachi and made her way towards the door.
"Sit down," Penguin told her with a look on his face that spoke volumes of how fed up he was with her attitude.
Law regarded the whole scene with interest, sipping his drink with a small smile, waiting for Rage's reaction.
She snapped her head towards Penguin, who was standing next to the door with his hands in his pockets and whole body relaxed like he didn't even consider this situation as a challenge.
She threw a sidelong glance at Law, sending him a wave of annoyance, which only fueled his entertainment with the whole situation. After all, she put herself in this position by starting this game of submission with his crewmate. Either she listened to whatever Penguin ordered her to do or she could disobey and waste all the effort she put into building his confidence in standing up to her crew.
Law was determined to take advantage of this situation until it lasted.
Rage sighed in annoyance, took Penguin under the arm and marched him to a loveseat directly opposite Law and Zoro. She made Penguin sit down, then she dropped to the floor right next to his feet, leaning on his legs and propping her elbow on his knee.
Law arched a brow at her audacity, while his smile grew. Perhaps she wasn't aware he wouldn't stop her if she decided to take this game much further.
Surprisingly, the unamused one with this whole situation was Zoro, whose disapproval was heavy in the bond. The swordsman did not appreciate mind games and preferred a more straightforward approach.
Someone cleared their throat and Law peeled his gaze away from the sight before him.
"Does anyone else want a drink?" Shachi asked with an easy smile.
"I'd like the same drink as Rage," Robin smiled back pleasantly.
It seemed the silent woman was greatly amused by Rage's antics. She indulged her every mischief, encouraging Rage's lack of restraint.
It didn't bode very well for the future, since both of them would be headed to the service sector to assume their covers. Although the historian would take on the role of a geisha, which seemed a lot more respectable in Wano's society than Rage being an oiran. However they would still stay in contact and refer clients to one another. Well at least Robin would refer clients to Rage, since geishas didn't provide sexual services.
"There is something aside from Lord Momonosuke's identity that we've kept from you," Kin'emon serious voice echoed in the room.
"Yeah, that was quite obvious, spill the beans already, old man," Rage commented with a bored tone, sipping her drink.
"We've delayed this, because the story is just quite hard to believe," Kin'emon muttered with a disgruntled tone, however he collected himself quickly and spread his arms, gesturing at Raizo and Kanjuro, who were sitting on both of his sides. "The three of us, as well as Lord Momonosuke and one more, five of us altogether, we hail from the past. The truth is we were sent here through time, from the Wano country of twenty years ago."
Yeah, that was quite unbelievable, so Law waited patiently until the general outrage subsided and Kin’emon revealed the story of Oden, the man who rounded up Wano’s bandits and created a prospering province only to leave Wano to become a pirate. He sailed with Whitebeard Pirates, when he met his wife Toki, who had the power to travel through time. The couple joined Gold Roger and their children were born aboard Oro Jackson. Oden left his family in Wano before sailing with Roger to Raftel, where they discovered One Piece. When he came back, he resumed his position as ruler of one of the provinces and things quickly went downhill. He was blackmailed by Kurozumi Orochi and led to his downfall. He believed his blackmailer would keep his promise, which in Law’s book was the most naive thing anyone could do. Oden lost his title and was sentenced to death by being boiled in oil and eventually he was killed by Kaido.
The tail reminded Law of Dressrosa and King Riku who was also blackmailed and believed Doflamingo would uphold the terms of their agreement only to be double crossed in the end. The level of gullibility in some people was astounding. It was truly tragic that such a person became a ruler of a whole country and ultimately led his people to such tragedy.
There was silence in the room, when Kin’emon finished explaining how he and Momonosuke ended up on Punk Hazard, the air heavy with all sorts of emotions.
Zoro was drinking silently as Kin’emon was speaking, his resolve solidifying throughout the story. He was ready to fight for Wano.
Meanwhile Rage seemed dejected. Her head was resting on the couch cushion next to Penguin’s thigh. Her legs were bent and she propped her wrists on her knees. She seemed relaxed with her eyes closed as she listened silently. But her side of the bond was filled with disappointment and contempt.
Law pulled on the bond to get her attention, but she only spared him a glance.
She crossed her legs and turned to face Kin'emon. “I have one question.”
The samurai straightened and braced himself. “Ask about anything, Rage-dono.”
She mirrored Kin’emon's sitting position. “Orochi claimed to have hundreds of hostages who he threatened to hand to Kaido if Oden wouldn’t make a fool out of himself every week.” She paused, waiting for Kin’emon to nod in confirmation. “He kept that going for five years, while he gradually lost support as a ruler.” Another pause, another nod. “But twenty five years ago Oden had the power to defeat Kaido and overthrow Orochi. He had the samurai, the yakuza and the public support and he decided to throw it all away."
“He chose to sacrifice himself so there would be no bloodshed,” Kin’emon answered, eyeing Rage carefully.
“Yes he did and his decision led to his enemies rising in power, while he danced for five years."
"He believed Kaido and Orochi would keep their word," Kin'emon stated.
"So he chose to publicly humiliate himself to save a couple hundred lives and in consequence thousands of people died and the country fell to ruin. Well done."
"Don't." Kin'emon's face was contorted in anger while his voice became cold.
“As you wish,” Rage nodded her head and stood up, stalking to the middle of the room. “Anyway, I want to show you something.”
She reached into her pocket and produced a small silver orb. One of Raizo’s smoke bombs. She threw it on the floor by her feet and the white smoke enveloped her silhouette. It was quickly cleared by the ventilation system revealing a man standing in Rage’s place.
He was wearing Heart Pirates jumpsuit, his skin was warm brown shade and he had the same hairstyle as Rage.
"If you see this guy out there, just don't kill me or get in my way."
"Oh my god, you did it!" Usopp's eyes bulged while he eyed Rage incredulously.
"You have so little faith in me," Rage rumbled in a low, raspy voice with a cheeky grin. "How do I look?"
Her smile widened as she put her hand on her hip, slouching a little to the side. Her eyes, hair and skin had the same color, her face had the same sharp angles, but now her jawline was wider and sharper. Her eyes were set deeper and the bridge of her nose was wider, giving her the masculine look. Her shoulders and chest were broader and her hips slimmer, but other than that Law couldn't discern more differences due to the jumpsuit covering most of her body.
"You look like a fuck boy."
Law's jaw dropped involuntarily as his gaze traveled to Ikakku.
"That bad, huh?" Rage rubbed her jaw with an amused huff.
"You look like a guy who gets laid with no effort and gives the girls at least one STD and two STI's," Ikakku pointed her drink at Rage with a deep frown.
"Fucking hell," Rage's lips twisted in displeasure, then she pushed her sleeves up to her elbows and quickly tied her hair in a messy knot. "How about now? Forearms and manbun?"
"Maybe with a beard," Ikkaku waved her hand dissmisively.
"Argh, even with all the testosterone I'm pretty sure I won't be able to grow any facial hair."
"Why's that?*
"Snake people's genes, no body hair. I'm lucky I have eyebrows."
Ikkaku eyed her suspiciously through narrowed eyes. "So, no hairy balls?"
Someone choked on their drink.
"What got into you, woman!" Someone else yelled.
To which Ikkaku reacted by raising her middle finger.
Was this Rage's influence? Or did she feel comfortable to show this side of her when there were other women around?
"I think you could pull of a bad boy look," Robin chimed in, smiling innocently. "Leather pants, fitted shirt, tattoos and signets."
"Come on," Ikkaku huffed, leaning back into the couch. "With her loud attitude, constant flirting and overconfidence, she'd be a walking red flag no matter how she looks."
"Hey!" Usopp sputtered. "So it's fine if she's a woman, but a man like that is a red flag? That's not fair."
Ikkaku snorted and Robin giggled, while Rage shook her head with disaproval.
"Thank your fellow men for that," Ikkaku replied. "Women who act like her are mostly harmless, but when guys do the same there's a high chance they're rapists. So keep your disapproval to yourself and shut the fuck up."
"Seriously Ikkaku, what got into you?" Shachi asked, lowering his glasses to look directly at the woman, his expression stunned.
She just rolled her eyes and Rage sniggered.
What was going on?
Rage snapped her fingers and a huge grin showed up on her face. "Hey! I know!" She thrust her hips to the side, striking a pose, then she threw her hair over her shoulder dramatically. "It will be alright," she spoke with a heavy mannerism, "if I act as me in a man's body, while I'm a flaming homosexual!"
Ikkaku's and Robin's eyes met, then smiles appeared on both of their feces.
"A flaming homosexual is a girls best friend," Ikkaku replied giving Rage a wide grin.
"Why?" Usopp asked with an expression showing he already regretted the question.
"For the same reason girls flock gay bars," Rage answered with a crooked smile. "Gay men don't find woman attractive, so they treat us as human beings, not objects to fuck and throw aside."
"This sounds so fucking strange coming from a guy," Usopp cringed.
Rage laughed. "Oh, I'm still a woman, even when I'm looking like this."
"You should change back," Zoro's commanding voice reverberated in the rec room.
The swordsman's reaction surprised Law, but when he saw Zoro's hard expression, he understood something was wrong.
He focused on Rage again. There was a slight change in the bond, exhaustion and anxiety trickling through the calm facade Rage maintained for the past several days.
Her skin turned gray over the span of the conversation and her body was tense.
"Ow, you don't like me like this?" she turned towards the swordsman with a rueful smile.
"Turn back, it's draining you too much," Zoro replied unmoved by her antics.
"It's not, the transformation took a lot," Rage clarified, her shoulders slumping a bit. "But it doesn't cost me any stamina to maintain this body. I can stay like this however long I want."
"Either way, you have to change back, we'll be reaching Wano soon," Zoro didn't relent, his piercing gaze focused solely on Rage.
"Come on, let me have some fun," she rolled her eyes dramatically.
"Rage."
She stilled, as her gaze traveled to the ceiling. She was quiet for a moment, then brushed her fingers through her hair with a heavy sigh.
"I can't turn back right now," she admitted quietly. "I don't have enough energy."
"You're a bit of an overachiever, aren't you?" Ikkaku remarked dryly.
"I'd say she's a drama queen," Usopp joined in. "She can turn anything into an emergency."
"Hey, did I complain? Zoro's being a snitch and I'm the drama?"
"Face it, sugar. Our fellow samurai just revealed a tear jerker of the year and you somehow took the attention away from them and made it all about yourself."
Rage stilled and shot Ikkaku the flattest of looks. "Now, you're being a bitch."
"At least I own it."
The words did something Law didn't expect. Rage crumbled in the bond. Her face stayed the same, while the bond was flooded with anxiety.
In unison, Law and Zoro stood up.
The swordsman walked up to Rage, grabbed her by the collar to unceremoniously drag her out of the room.
"Ikkaku, come with me," Law ordered and headed towards the library, while his crewmate followed without a word.
He took off his hat and tossed it on the table.
"Sit down," he pointed to one of the chairs, while he leaned on a bookshelf. "What's going on?"
Ikkaku met his gaze with a hard stare he had never seen before on her face.
"Why are we going to Wano?"
He didn't expect a question like that.
"We are part of the alliance," he answered sternly, but he could see it wasn't the answer she wanted. "The samurai and the Strawhats fought Doflamingo, it's fair to help them in their fight."
"So why is she going to Wano? Does she have some kind of debt to repay?"
 "No," he replied with a flat voice. "She came to fight Doflamingo in exchange for my help with her devil fruit. Her reasons to go to Wano are her own."
"So she's going because of you, because you and the green haired guy are bonded to her."
It would be great if that was the sole reason she chose to go, but he was certain Rage had other reasons to do so.
He nodded to confirm Ikkaku's words, without sharing his suspicions.
"I like her. She's fun, loud and shameless, but I don't trust her," Ikkaku stated without breaking eye contact.
Her words took him by surprise. He didn't expect Ikkaku to distrust Rage. Both women got on just fine during the past two weeks.
However, Ikkaku was very perceptive and could pick up various nuances, then put them all together to form a spot on conclusion.
"Please, elaborate."
"She uses humor to avoid difficult situations. She's also pretty confrontational, but she always manages to end an argument in a way that nobody holds a grudge against her."
"Yes, I'm aware. Why are you pointing this out?"
"It's a tell that she grew up in a dangerous surrounding, with dangerous people. She's used to hiding her feelings. By picking up a fight she tries to do something about a situation that bothers her, but at the same time she manipulates people to tone down their reactions to her behavior."
"I don't see why this should be a reason to distrust her."
Zoro had told him about Rage's upbringing, how people she trusted took advantage of her and how often she was put in danger solely because of her mother status.
Ikkaku's brow slightly arched up and her stare didn't falter, she gave out an impression she was completely confident in her judgement.
"Are you aware that she trained herself every day for the past two weeks until she was bleeding and covered in bruises?"
"She heals fast."
"Not that fast. She boosts her healing to hide it."
"So how do you know about it?"
"I walked in on her twice. She was so out of it she didn't notice. When I touched her, she recoiled so hard I thought she was going to run away. But each time she did something to shut it all down, she healed the wounds, smiled and went to find one of you for a quick fuck."
"And?"
"Why does she train herself to the ground like that?"
"She's recovering her strength after serious injuries and being starved for a year. We're heading to a yonko's territory, it's only reasonable to be in top shape."
"So she chooses to train until her hands bleed, which clearly fucks with her head. She does it to go fight for a country she has no love for and not a single reason to do so. Furthermore, she has fresh unprocessed trauma piling on her old issues. But when Kin'emon wanted to release her from the alliance, she declined."
Law held Ikkaku's gaze silently. She had a point. He and Zoro came to the same conclusion but they couldn't figure out why Rage was so stubborn about the alliance, when she clearly had no reason to fight.
"I know, she said she'll need to fight to reclaim her crew, but she already has an upper hand. They don't know about her devil fruit."
Ikkaku leaned back in her chair and put one hand on the table top, drumming her fingers once. She was silent for a while, searching his face with careful eyes.
"The fact she hides her state from you, means she doesn't trust you or she wants to spare you from experiencing her pain. She doesn't trust you could handle it."
The words stung. They were correct and Law knew it took time to gain trust, but still a sharp stab shot through his chest.
"The only reason she's going to Wano are you and Zoro. She clearly doesn't think the plan will work but she's going with it at least to some extent. I assume she'll do whatever it takes to keep you alive, which may not align with the cause to defeat Kaido."
"Are you suggesting Rage would ally with Kaido in exchange for mine and Zoro's lives?"
She had the audacity to snort and Law's jaw tightened in irritation.
"Of course not," she waved her hand, dismissing the notion. "She's too good for that. But she's bad enough to have a plan of her own. You've heard what she came up with in a spur of a moment when she got stoned. And those scenarios were already good enough to carry out. It begs the question, what was she able to come up with during the last two weeks?"
"I already took this into consideration."
"I assume you tried to ask what she was planning and she didn't give you a straight answer." When he didn't answer, she just nodded and continued. "So she needs to take over her crew to carry out her plan, which means she probably doesn't need us, the Staw Hats or the samurai to succeed."
"Are you implying Rage would sacrifice everyone to achieve her goal?"
"I don't think she would get any of us killed, because it would hurt you as her mates. But besides that, anything goes."
He stayed silent, unwilling to comment, because if he did, he'd need to agree with her.
"Look, the way she behaves points to one conclusion, Wano is a stepping stone to get something she needs. That's why she's so stubborn to stay in the alliance. I don't know enough about her to be sure what she wants, but I guess it's something connected to her family. All I'm saying is that we can't consider her our ally and we shouldn't count on her support in crucial matters. I know she's important to you, but please don't turn a blind eye or you'll get hurt."
___________
Rage was knocked out cold the moment he managed to get her to lay down.
The transformation drained her and the spat with Law's crewmate took away all her remaining willpower to put up any fight.
He looked down at her sleeping face, it was still so weird to see her in a man's body. He wouldn't lie, she looked good, all lean muscles and sharp features, but this new body would be something he'd had to get used to.
Law's presence pulled him from his thoughts. The door opened and the surgeon walked into the room.
Zoro met his gaze and instantly he knew something was wrong. Law's usually stoic face was tense, his brows pulled together in a worried manner.
He took off his hat and set it on the desk, then sat heavily in the chair.
The bond was mostly closed off but when their eyes met, some tension seeped through as if he couldn't contain it anymore.
Zoro rolled away from Rage and sat on the edge of the bed just an arms length away from Law.
"What will happen if she won't bond with Luffy?" Law asked suddenly, taking Zoro by surprise.
"Why wouldn't she?" Where did the question come from? What did Law talk about with his crewmate?
"If she doesn't, what will you do?"
He wanted to know why Law was asking about this, but something in Law's gaze gave him pause.
"Then she won't," he answered. "He'd still be my captain and you both would still be the people I'm bonded with."
"What if Luffy won't take the rejection well and he'll make you choose?"
He wouldn't, was on the tip of his tongue, but he caught himself before he spoke the words. This wasn't about Luffy.
His lips stretched in a humorless smile. "When I agreed to be his first mate, I told him I'd kill him if he ever stood in my way of becoming the greatest swordsman. And he agreed with a smile. If he ever made me choose that would mean he isn't the person I thought he was."
"What if Rage made you choose between her and Luffy?"
"Then I've made a foolish choice to bond with her and I'd deserve the heartbreak."
"So what would happen to us?"
"Things between me and her or me and Luffy don't change how I feel about you. It doesn't matter if Luffy's my captain or not, or if Rage is in the picture, I still love you for you."
"What if the bond between us was broken?"
"Then you'll have less noise in your head and we'll have to figure stuff out like everybody else."
Law let out a breath and his shoulders sagged, but the tension in the bond didn't let up.
"She'll do something unpredictable in Wano, the outcome might not be pretty," Law's gaze traveled behind Zoro.
"It'll be alright."
It was hopeful thinking, but he really didn't want to think she'd do something to hurt them or their crews.
"Will it? Then why wouldn't she tell us about her plans?" Law's sharp stare came back to him, making his hackles rise for a second.
"Maybe because it's not our business."
Law frowned and his brows drew together in displeasure.
"Isn't it?"
"If it's something concerning her crew then it's not. Think about it, do you want to consult us about your crew's business? What happens within your crew does not concern us. Same for me and my crew and for Rage. She wants to get her crew back, let her do it her way."
"I'm concerned about what will happen after."
"I have no doubt there will be mayhem, but she won't get in our way to defeat Kaido. But at this point I think we'll have to talk about one thing. If she won't be able to take over her crew, then most likely they will try to take her back to Sin City. She ran away from that place, so there's no way she's going back. We'll have to stay sharp and prevent her from being manipulated into her mother's schemes again."
After the things she told him, he wasn't going to let her be taken away to serve as her mother's pawn again. It drove her to the point she'd rather get killed than live the life that woman planned for her.
"Agreed," Law nodded once, conviction clear in his voice.
But the tension in the bond didn't let up, it was the first time when Zoro felt so much anxiety from the surgeon.
"What's on your mind?"
Law sighed and lowered his head to rub his forehead.
"What if she was right, when she told us we jumped into this too soon, without really knowing her?" He tilted his head to look Zoro in the eye. There was something strange in his golden eyes, something like fear. "The stories she told us about the killing, she's still the same person with the same moral compass. What if she goes off the rails and massacres a whole island again?"
"Those child traffickers deserved that," Zoro replied with a sneer. "She won't go off on people in Wano, just because she doesn't like the country."
Law was silent for a while, searching Zoro's gaze and reaching out in the bond.
"She might do it, either under the influence of her past, her trauma or if she loses control over the devil fruit."
"So we'll have to be ready to stop her. And then we'll decide what to do next." He reached out and took Law's hand. It was cold. "This stuff didn't bother you earlier, why the change?"
Law sighed again and laced his fingers tightly with Zoro's.
"It's been barely a month since we met, we've been bonded for only two weeks and tomorrow we'll arrive at Wano, everything could happen."
"You won't lose us," Zoro assured, stroking his thumb over Law's skin.
"You don't know that."
"I want to believe I'll have my whole life ahead of me with you both by my side."
Law sighed again. "Belief might not be enough."
"Ok, enough of this. You worry too much." He stood up and pulled the surgeon out of the chair, making them stand chest to chest.
He tilted his head and caught Law's lips in a brief, consoling kiss. "If you want, tomorrow we'll talk with her and you can set your boundaries. We can have the talk she wanted us to have, ok?" Law nodded and Zoro smiled at him. "Let's get some sleep."
___________
Sleep didn't come easily. The feelings stirred by Ikkaku's words only added to the growing pile of doubt and fear weighing on his mind.
When he lived solely to take revenge on Doflamingo, he didn't have anything to lose, in fact he was ready to die in the process.
But now…now he had something worth living for that gave him happiness and the fear of losing it was crippling.
Anxious thoughts and worst case scenarios swarmed his mind, keeping him tense.
He was laying between Rage and Zoro, wrapped in the swordsman's warm arms, listening to his mates' steady breaths.
Finally sleep came, but brought no peace.
He dreamt of Corazon locking him up in a treasure chest. It was dark and cold and no matter how loud he screamed and pounded on the lid, he couldn't save the one man who cared about him. Then he heard gunshots, something heavy fell on the chest and warm blood seeped through the cracks in the wood.
He woke up with a choked gasp, the remnants of the dream still clinging to his consciousness, blurring the lines between reality and the nightmare. The moment he closed his eyes the dream pulled him again into the wooden chest soaked with blood.
He didn't want to be there.
A warm hand squeezed his shoulder.
"Law," a male voice, raspy with sleep quietly called his name and his eyes flew open. "Shhh…it's ok, it's a bad dream."
Warm arms pulled him into a firm chest. His head was tucked under a smooth chin and a hand stroked the hair on the back of his head.
He inhaled deeply and Rage's scent filled his nose.
He felt her chest vibrating before he heard her humming. She was still in her male form and her voice was different, deeper and raspier, but the tune she was humming was gentle and melodic. She inhaled deeply and started singing quietly. He could feel her lips moving against the top of his head.
"Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you
Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you"
His heart squeezed. He didn't expect something so gentle and warm coming from Rage.
"On the day that you were born the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue.
That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you
On the day that you were born the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue."
He huffed, while his face flushed hot. "My eyes aren't blue."
"Shhh…," she rubbed her cheek over his head. "Your eyes are pretty, the song is pretty, just relax."
The song resumed in her low, raspy voice and the hand continued to stroke his hair. The song was simple and short, so she repeated it over and over again. Sometimes the words slurred a bit with sleepiness, but she never stopped.
His body relaxed into her embrace and his chest filled with pleasant warmth. He closed his eyes and let her voice carry him to sleep.
__________
Despite Kin'emon's claims that the way into Wano was a difficult one, they made it quite easily without any obstacles. The upgrades made to Polar Tang made it easy to navigate turbulent currents surrounding Wano.
It was a late evening on the sixteenth day after departing from Zou that they landed on a sandy beach of the Kuri province.
Raizo and several of his crewmates went to scout the area, to confirm there was no one around.
They decided to spend the night on the ship and depart for Oden's castle in the morning. The plan was to establish their base of operations in the ruins of the castle.
Rage slept through it all, waking up periodically to get some food and to turn into her female body. It drained her again and she slept until Zoro shook her awake for an early breakfast before departure.
She leaned on Law's shoulder sleepily, while drinking her third coffee after inhaling four servings of breakfast.
There was a snappy comment ready to fly out of his mouth, when the intercom pinged to life.
"Captain, there are twenty five people on the beach, standing by the tree line, mostly women. And there's a ship behind us, pointing cannons at our position."
Rage put down her coffee cup, stood up and cracked her neck. "It's show time."
"Penguin, go to the steering room and tell the pilots to resurface," Law ordered while reaching for Kikoku. "Everyone else, go get your weapons. We're disembarking in twenty."
"Wait," Rage stood in the doorway, facing the galley. "Don't engage them until I'm done. Afterwards, please try to disregard any provocation. That's all I'm asking of you."
"Don't worry," Penguin walked to the door and ruffled her hair. "Let's see what your crew's like."
Twenty minutes later, his crew, the Straw Hats and the samurai were standing on the beach, directly opposite twenty five women lined up in a row, wearing all brack tactical gear.
Rage stepped forward. Law and Zoro followed right behind her, disregarding her initial protest.
Law tried to assess the women standing silently by the tree line.
They were wearing the same clothes, but other than that they were a completely diverse bunch, starting from body shape, skin color, hair color and wielded weapons.
There was one man leaning casually on a tree trunk. He seemed to be in his late forties, light skinned with a neatly trimmed goatee. His posture was relaxed like he wasn't bothered by the tension on the beach.
Rage stopped halfway between two crews, her eyes trained ahead.
One of the women stepped forward and walked towards them. She was about Rage's height, with beige skin and dark hair. Her face was strikingly beautiful with her sharp features, full lips and flawless, smooth skin. She was lean and thin, to the point she seemed delicate, but her gait and the way she held herself screamed danger.
"Rage," the woman spoke when she stood in front of them, her face wiped of any emotions.
"Kisa."
So this was the woman Rage told them about. Her first mate.
They just stood there, staring at each other. The beach became awfully quiet as if the world shrunk to the two of them.
Then the man with the goatee pushed from the tree and started walking towards them.
Rage raised her arms invitingly and the dark haired woman stepped forward wrapping her arms around Rage in a tight embrace.
"Your mother is keeping Manola and our daughter locked up to assure I'll come back with you in tow. There's a plan to get them out and off the island, but they need a distraction."
The woman rattled quickly, as if she didn't want the approaching man to hear it.
The bond burst with shock and Rage's arms tightened around the woman.
Tension grew in the bond, as the shock dissolved into rapid fire of sensations.
"Do I get a hug too?" The man asked, coming to a stop just a few steps away from them.
He was wearing a wide, welcoming smile, his whole demeanor friendly and unthreatening. But Law had a gut feeling he shouldn't be trusted.
"Ever the attention whore, Tony. You couldn't give me five minutes with my mate?" Rage chidded, pulling away from the embrace with her mate.
The man grinned widely.
"Is that how you greet your favorite dad, after a year long absence?"
"I see, you're still delusional," Rage replied with a smirk. "James and Steve were always my favorites. I cried when grandma took them away."
The man grabbed his chest in an over dramatic gesture, but the smile was still plastered to his face. "Your words wound my heart."
Rage mirrored his wide smile and closed the distance between them to give the man a hug. "How is your heart, old man?"
Something was wrong.
The bond went cold, there was absolutely nothing coming from Rage. She had a smile on her face but there was no feeling inside.
Law's fingers twitched on his sword and beside him Zoro shifted his weight as if preparing for a fight.
"It's all better, since I've seen your poster," the man hugged her back, his smile softening. "It was hell for all of us, when we couldn't find you and every lead went cold."
"Yeah, I know," she replied, her voice as cold as the bond.
The man's eye widened and he leaned back, searching Rage's face with worry. "What's going on, baby girl?"
"Why are you here, Tony? Is she finally fed up with you, so she sent you away?"
His hands fell from her shoulders and a crooked smile appeared on his face. "Straight to business, I see. That's my girl. A lot has happened since you went missing. The city is thriving, the business is branching out, so we're looking for new business partners. This seemed like an opportunity worth looking into."
"Looking for a deal with Kaido?"
"Is that what you're here for? I thought there's something else going down, judging by the track record of the company you've been keeping."
The man's gaze landed on Law for the first time, acknowledging his presence, then shifted to Zoro.
"Will you introduce us to your friends?" The man looked at Rage with a beaming smile, but she wasn't looking at him.
Her gaze was connected with the silent woman, their eyes locked in an intense stare.
"Rage?" The man asked, trying to get her attention back.
"Tony," she said his name without looking at him. "I'm not going back."
"Don't be ridiculous," he snorted. "If it's about the bounty, we'll take care of it. Don't worry it won't be an issue for much longer."
She slowly turned to him and cradled his face in her palms, making him look straight into her eyes.
"No, I don't want to go back."
He reached up to hold her wrists. An indulgent smile stretching his lips. "Why wouldn't you want to come back? Your whole family is waiting for you and there's Kisa's new family for you to meet. You're an auntie now."
"You crossed a line there locking up Kisa's partner and child. You've crossed the line so many times I've lost count. It's time to even the score."
"What are you talki-" the rest of the sentence got choked off when the man lost his breath and gasped for air.
He grabbed his chest right over his heart, clawing at his shirt and wheezing. His face went pale and sweaty and his lips turned blue.
Law's instincts kicked in, recognising the symptoms of a cardiac arrest, but before he could react or even say a word, the man stilled and went lax in Rage's grasp.
When she released him, he fell to the ground limply.
Electricity buzzed at Law's fingertips, ready to shock the man to restore his heartbeat, but before he could make a move, Zoro's hand landed on his shoulder, the grip strong enough to keep him still.
He shot the swordsman a warning look. But Zoro held his gaze with steel in his eye, then slowly shook his head.
"Is this enough of a distraction?" Rage's words pulled them from the silent stare-down.
She was facing the silent woman, who simply nodded, looking entirely unbothered by the dead body by her feet.
"Yes, I believe this would be enough."
"We're even. I don't owe you anything anymore," Rage said with finality in her tone.
The woman's lips twisted in an ironic smile. "Oh, Rage, we both know you have never done anything that didn't benefit you in one way or another. But this is my family's ticket to freedom, it's enough to call us even. I'll stay with you until you're finished here and then we'll never see each other again."
A pang of pain shot through the bond, disturbing the deadly stillness. It confused the hell out of Law. Didn't she want to sever the bond with the woman in the first place?
But somehow the woman's words hurt Rage, managing to break through her shield of dissociation.
"Get a grip," Zoro's gruff voice broke the loaded silence. "She doesn't matter anymore. We're here and you have shit to do."
Rage jerked, like the words physically shook her out of her stupor. She turned her head, her eyes wide and a tentative smile appeared on her lips, while the bond bloomed with warmth.
Law stifled the urge to sigh, while he looked to the sky with exasperation.
Zoro and Rage's interactions were sometimes absurdly rough and scathing, but the brutal honesty appeared to be their love language. Zoro wasn't one for subtleties. Even if they didn't fly over his head, he just didn't have the patience for them. His caustic remarks chipped at Rage's walls, strengthening their bond bit by bit.
Most of the times, a situation like this ended with rough, frantic sex against the nearest available surface.
But right now, a den den mushi's screams cut through the building tension.
The blackhaired woman kneeled next to the corpse and pulled out a transponder snail from the dead man's belt pouch. With a quick gesture she disconnected the incoming call and pocketed the snail.
Then she stood next to Law, facing the women standing silently by the treeline.
Rage took a step forward, focused and calm once again.
"Makonde Kiburi," she shouted, her voice hard and confident. "I challenge you for the leadership of Team One."

Okay so what if Robin and Brook are able to soul bond during then enies lobby arc ? Before Brook could only wield Robin, but there souls weren’t bound.
Robin finds the will to live, Brook finds the will to live, they both fight their way out with Franky and Nami while Luffy obliterates everything single-handedly like a good little protagonist, Usopp and Zoro go soul resonant (first recorded time 2 meisters have bonded without a weapon present At All) Sanji kicks absolute ass and Chopper has a mental break and disassociates while he sprouts swords down his spine, along his arms and into two giant razor-sharp antlers in his head. Jimbe supervises this... Episode Chopper is having, from a distance because Chopper can't even see rn he's checked out gone fishing left the building

One Piece chapter 1108 review
Ooh, this is actually heating up right when I was expecting Egghead to start winding down and continue cutting off sources of tension. There was a point a year and a bit ago where the question might have been asked, 'why this arc, on this island?' If Oda is rushing to the finale, what does Egghead offer that Elbaf doesn't, and what will it add to contribute to the macro-level plot? Up til now, aside from wrapping up stories for supporting cast members like Bonney and Kuma, it seemed that maybe the main thing here was getting the scientists in the party and setting up more Void Century teases to develop more later. Well I think now we're getting the big thing that made Egghead unskippable.
But first we've got a Jump cover here, the latest in a long line of 'Luffy is about to punch you' covers, now in Gear Five form, and a very relaxed colour spread. Sure, why not give Uta another appearance in the manga. But what's that going on between Reiju and Tashigi? But my favourite thing here is the dapper canines in the portraits in the background. Cute stuff.
Caribou's scene feels like more of a recap than anything. I'm actually surprised to see him and the Blackbeard Pirates again so soon, I would have been satisfied if their time on Egghead wrapped up with the last chapter. Of course, there's no chance they choose not to take him with them, even if Oda leaves it ambiguous.
Now, I'm not a firearms guy. I don't live in one of those countries where you see them regularly. But is it just me or is Augur's form with the rifle really bad here, with the stock all the way out the back. You're meant to use that thing to brance for the recoil, right? So if he pulls the trigger this weird way he's holding it, the whole thing just slips between his arms and goes flying backwards, wouldn't it? I'll accept corrections for anyone who does know guns on this point.
I love getting names for all the vice admirals here. It's the details. Guillotine is still my favourite design of the batch.
The talk about taking back control of the Pacifistas by eliminating Bonney feels odd though. Is that how it works? So a person of equal rank in the hierarchy can't override orders, but the death of the current top dog will let someone lower down cancel their standing orders? Pacifista control is a mess, and for all the ways Egghead has been a breath of fresh air post-Wano, it's complicated contrivances like this that drag it down in the end-of-arc retrospective.
The giants' meetup with Franky's group has some interesting points. First: they don't recognise Franky because his bounty picutre was changed to the Sunny's figurehead. But that's still weird. It can't have been done just to set up this half-second misunderstanding. Franky's ready to square up, making the at this point safe assumption they've come as enemies, which is great from him. We learn that Usopp's been talking about his time with the giants to the crew since Franky joined. You have to assume that kind of offscreen bonding is happening, but it's always nice getting the little confirmations of it.
Glad to see one of the weaponised sea beasts survived. And Bluegrass and Doll manage to look very cool riding it back to Egghead. I wonder if Doll's connection to Saul is setting up a bigger arc or moment for her, or if it's just an excuse to remind casual readers of his name.
Saturn is truly terrifying in his new form. That's fantastic design. Even before Sanji points it out, you can see something is wrong with his eyes. That is one intense stare. And the fact that he doesn't speak once in the whole chapter makes him feel all the more inhuman. What is this man now, if he's still a man at all?
But where did Borsalino go after the last chapter's standoff. Has there been a little offscreen clash with Luffy and Sanji he's just retreated from? Was he forced to get out of the way as demon Saturn stampeded in? I'd rather have seen either of those things than releared what Caribou knows at the start of the chapter. It's not a hard one to explain, but it still feels like a continuity glitch, which is frustrating. It came up during the 'who fed Luffy' discussions in the past week that Luffy's position changes before and after the flashback, last seen in Franky's hands going in, then lying a decent way away from the group with no apparent action taken by him or Franky after. If there was one thing you could absolutely say in the Onigashima battle's favour, it's that it was intricately and carefully mapped. We had the layout of the whole castle and knew where everyone was inside it. No one teleported from one side to another in a single page, they got at least a little bit of offscreen time to travel before popping up somewhere new. The attention to detail was a highlight there, which makes it all the more disappointing that this battle's staging misses beats like this.
I can't help feeling really bad for Vegapunk as he lays dying here. Not because I'm super personally invested in him, but just because it feels so wrong for the character design. He's so goofy and cartoony with the apple head and forever-lolling tongue that he feels like he should be incompatible with blood. This guy should be giving me the tutorial of an edutainment game, not having his guts blasted out. Like a child, or a housepet, the apparent innocence makes it feel even crueller to attack him. (Apparent innocence only, we all know his morality is questionable at best given the horrors he enabled for the World Government.)
Borsalino getting to finish the job is a shock, and yeah, the monitor at the end does make me think the job is finished. Rough, and unexpected. I was better on Kuma's death and Vegapunk's rescue, but it looks like I got it the wrong way around. Luffy's giant transformation is an awesome panel, with just the intensity you want for a moment like this. No notes. I also love the smaller panel of the page showing him from ground level, towering over the buildings. Would love a bigger and more detailed form of that next week please.
And then the stinger. Vegapunk seems to have set up a dead man switch with some big secrets. This is great. Perfect thing for the smartest man in the world to do, especially considering how long he'd been expecting an attempt on his life was coming. And it has the potential to be huge for the world. A turning point. Potentially the start of a war or several. I don't think we're getting the full Void Century here, of course, but it's hard to imagine it playing out without at least one major reveal. And how will the Government respond? With the Buster Call running too slow, will Imu turn the Mother Flame on Egghead, triggering an escape sequence (and maybe cutting the exposition dump short because this is One Piece). The potential for this is huge. Huge.
I'm always happy to be getting three chapters in a row, but I'm so glad this one didn't line up with a break. See you all next week when the bombs drop.

How ASL Bros React To Getting Married To You
Tumblr media
A/N : well, I reallyyy want to write a nice long fic but like.. life man. I’m on spring break and have work all week and with my sleep problems 😭 just enjoy this please c:
Summary : what the asl brothers wedding would be like.
-
Luffy
“Woah! You look awesome, [Name]!”
So cheery and wholesome.
Zoro is his best man, ( much to Sanji’s dismay )
EVERYONE is there, every single person he’s ever met is there so it’s crowded and you basically had it outside, in Foosha Village, though he wanted it to be on the ship.
All of the girls Luffy’s met is responsible for your appearance, they all helped you on your big day.
Some of the marines were invited, of course.
Luffy’s best mans/groom mans ( idk) ( other than Zoro ) consists of Sabo, Ace, Sanji, Usopp, Franky, Brook, Law, Shanks and Koby.
Your bridesmaids consist of Nami, Robin ( maid of honor ), Perona, Tashigi, Vivi and Makino. ( shirahoshi and others didn’t have too much room to stand by you because of the guests so they just sat in their respective seats.)
Before it officially started, there was a lot of tension so separation in seats were needed. Big Mom’s crew is sitting on the left back, Marines in the front right, Law’s, Kid’s and Shanks and other pirates are put in the right back, and everyone else Luffy knows is in the front right.
Few are still in shock because of the fact that LUFFY is getting married before them.
A lot of yelling and laughter from everyone is around but as soon as the classic music is playing in the background, everyone shuts up and turns to face the back, where you’re walking with Garp.
Old man Garp is the one taking you, and even he is full of tears from the fact that his own grandson is getting married.
“You take care of my dumb ole’ grandson, you hear? If he ever becomes too much of an annoyance, just knock him a few times in the head.”
And when you finally reach him, everyone is quiet and has the proudest smiles on their faces. Their Luffy is all grown up.
His bright, radiating grin is plastered and he is pretty overwhelmed but right now, you’re distracted by his handsome look in his suit.
Of course, he has shorts instead of long dress pants but he still looked handsome regardless.
Vows are said, rings are given and you smile at Luffy as the minister ( Sengoku ) questions your commitment.
“Do you, [ Name LastName ] take this complete fool, Monkey D. Luffy, as your everlasting husband and, future pirate king?”
Chuckles are heard, and you couldn’t suppress a giggle either. “I do.”
“I see. I wish you luck on this journey. Luffy, you may now kiss the bride.”
Claps are heard around as Luffy grins. “About time!” He cheers and pulls you by your hands, quickly smashing your lips together in a kiss.
“Congrats, Luffy!”
“Not bad, Straw Hat.”
“Where’s the beer? Time to party!”
“Alright, Luffy! Woo!”
Music is quick to break out as everyone is celebrating and cheering.
You and Luffy already cut the cake, ( it took you a lot of force to make Luffy not shove his face in the cake and just CUT IT. )
The giant cake made by Sanji and the Big Mom family, was shared for everyone and there was still plenty left.
And it was just a fun time with everyone. You even threw your bouquet(?) behind you already and it seems the next to be wed was Tama!
Clearly some of the women weren’t too happy to see the little grow becoming married before them but it was a nice laugh.
The night goes on and it’s getting late. Guests are leaving after wishing the two of you well and you two head in for your suite that Nami booked as her present.
“It feels normal. I thought this was some big special thing, why is it such a big deal again?” Luffy questions, forgetting what the girls had told him the several nights before about weddings.
You smile gently and set the last wrapped gift to the side with the others, taking a glance at the shimmering ring on your left hand.
“Because,” you spin around and face your husband, reaching over and taking off his straw hat that he kept on.
“It swears our connection and commitment to each other. Why do you think Shanks married Makino, despite their long distance relationship?”
Luffy offers his gentle smile, seemingly more relaxed at the mention of the two of the most important people in his life, out of many.
“Because they love each other?” He guesses calmly, tilting his head and you nod, giggling at his black hair that swayed.
“And I love you.” You whisper, leaning closer and felt Luffy’s arms enveloping you in a tight hug, his face nuzzling into your neck.
“I love you, [Name].”
And he leans back, connecting his lips on yours.
-
Ace
“Oh..wow..”
Oh boy, did the Whitebeard crew go BIG.
I have a feeling that Ace would want something a little normal or smaller perhaps, just inviting his personal friends and family, and maybe a few people he met along the way of his journey.
He’s a friendly, outgoing person but for a personal occasion, it’s best to stick with the people you’re closest to.
But he wasn’t complaining when he saw the large äss party, feast and the important people in his life showing up.
Sabo, Luffy and his crew, Shanks, Makino, all of his brothers, members of his old crew, Garp, he was thrilled to see everyone!
The wedding was held on Whitebeard’s ship, of course. It wasn’t too fancy or grand but still pretty large and the ship was right in the middle of the sea.
Ace is all dressed up handsomely in his suit, with the help of Marco, Vista and Izo. His hair isn’t too messy and just styled neatly.
You were dressed beautifully in your gown/suit, with the help of the nurses, Nami, Robin and Izo.
There was a bit of trouble with seating but naturally, many people stood up anyways and were quite busy throwing confetti and other things at you, even if it was a wedding.
Whitebeard is taking you down the aisle, it’s a little bit difficult but he still did, and you can bet he’s excited to have a daughter/son that will help watch over Ace’s dumbass self.
“Rough him up real good, take good care of my stupid son. And call me Pops!”
When Ace sees you walking down, he’ll admit, he’s teary. He’s actually found love, someone like him.. and he’s about to be married to you, the most amazing, attractive, and sweetest person he’s met.
You look so amazing in your outfit, he’s in tears. He’s so lucky.. Marco has a hand on his shoulder and patting his back. “Congratulations, Ace. You deserve this.”
Wiping his tears with his finger, he nods and exhales, holding the widest, warmest smile he could muster.
He was going to love you and protect you all of his damn life, that’s for sure.
The minister is actually Vista! Ace’s best man is Marco and his groomsmans all include Thatch, Luffy, Jozu, Izo, and Haruta!
“Do you, [Name Lastname] take this young kid as your loyal, lawful and everlasting husband?”
“Really?” Ace pouts at Vista’s joke and chuckles are heard, even yours.
“I do, Vista. I’ll make sure he grows.” You giggle as Ace sighs in exasperation.
“Very well. I now pronounce you husband and wife, Ace, kiss your damn bride already.”
“My pleasure.” Ace grins and he’s quick in pulling your wrist towards him, and spinning you into a dipping motion before connecting your lips together in a kiss.
Whistles and catcalls are heard as loud cheers and applause are made.
“Go Ace!”
“Alright, Fire Fist!”
“Better not lose her, Ace!”
Ace rolls his eyes at the comments from his brothers and pulls you back up with a smile. He’s a little glad he didn’t fall asleep midway because of his narcolepsy.
Party immediately breaks out, Sanji aids Thatch in the kitchen to bring out everything and it’s a long night of dancing, boozing and more.
Ace is just off with the guys, having fun and celebrating while you are off with the women, talking about experiences and such.
And when Ace finally finds you and pulls you two away to his room for some alone time, he pulls you close.
“Well, Mrs. Fire Fist, what do you want to do first?~”
His arms are around your waist as he secures you towards him, a cheeky smile on display on his face.
“Not sure, what did you have in mind?” Playing coy, you shrug and tilt your head, turning away from his face which he pouts and uses his hand to force his back to him.
Pecking your lips, Ace smiles again and leads you to his bed. “I have an idea, if you’re up to it?” He wiggles his brows, making you laugh.
He jumps onto the bed, pulling you with him so you were on top. “Well?”
“Oh! Cuddles, I get it! Sure, I’m tired anyways.”
Ace groans at you, heaving a sigh and he whines. “Come on, [Naaamee]!”
You just giggle and sit up, repositioning yourself on his lap and straddled him. “Fine, fine. You’re lucky it’s our special day today.” You hum.
“Oh? So you don’t want to do this after today is over?” Ace muses, smirking a bit since he knew the answer.
You puff your cheeks out at the thought of not having sex with Ace anymore, but you weren’t going to back down. “..Nope!”
Knowing the truth, Ace chuckles and begins to grind upwards into you.
“Alright, I guess I better make this a special memory to remember.”
-
Sabo
“You look incredible, [Name]..”
The most average, normal one. It’s traditional, smaller than most would be, and it’s for personal guests only.
So close members of the revolutionary army, his brothers, Garp and Makino were the only ones invited. If Luffy wanted, he could bring his crew but that’s it!
It’s traditional, so it was held inside a chapel, of course. It wasn’t anything special, everything was set up already and prepared for a small group so it was great.
Sabo is in a dashing, handsome suit like Ace was, but somehow has a much more charming, princely appearance. He helped himself in the appearance, with smallest help of Inazuma.
Your dress too! Somehow it’s more Royal appearing and your veil resembles a crown in a way. Koala and Iva helped you out in this!
Sabo’s best man is actually Ace! The strongest brotherly bond overpowered the thought of having Kuma, Iva or Luffy as a best man, but fortunately, they didn’t seem to mind, since they were groomsmans anyways. Iva being both bridesmaid and groomsman.
Ace was pretty teary and honored, and felt so excited.
The one who takes you down the aisle is Dragon. He’s a little awkward about it at first but he is quite proud of Sabo, even if he doesn’t openly show it.
“Take good care of him, alright?”
“I will.” You assure, thanking him when you finally reach the point of Sabo’s side.
The whole time, Sabo is staring at you in awe, feeling speechless. How did he manage to get someone as beautiful and wholehearted as you?
He can’t contain his wide grin and excitement, his hands just a hint clammy from the nervousness of possible rejection. But he knew you loved him. Because he loves you.
“Someone looks handsome.” You whisper in a giggle and Sabo chuckles. “Not compared to the beauty you have right now.” He winks.
The minister is actually Kuma, of course. Kuma was the obvious choice. Kuma took the position with gratitude.
“[Name Lastname]. Do you take Chief of Staff Sabo, as your lawful, loyal and everlasting husband?”
“I do.”
“Congratulations. I now pronounce you husband and wife, Sabo, please do the honor of kissing your bride.”
Sabo is the most natural approach, taking a step forward and cupping your cheeks in his hands and pulling you forward, for a kiss.
Cheers and applause are made and heard, and Luffy, being the brother he is, pulls out a loud confetti popper and pulls it, it shooting it out everywhere like fireworks.
“Congratulations, you two!”
“Alright, time to get drinking!”
“Better not let this get in the way of your missions..”
“Luffy, how’d you even get that?!” Sabo widens his eyes and he laughs. “Franky made it for me! He said it’ll be super, for the wedding!”
“Geez..”
You can’t help the laugh that escapes your lips and Sabo finds himself laughing alongside you and the whole place is soon filled with laughter and cheer.
It’s a small family party but it was still pretty chaotic regardless, and Sabo makes sure to take you outside for some fresh air when it becomes nighttime.
“Hey, feeling okay?”
Taking a seat on the bench nearly, Sabo sits beside you and you nod, immediately leaning into his shoulder.
“It’s overwhelming, I guess..” the warm smile that spreads your lips is contagious as he does the same when he sees it. “But,”
You take a look at your ring finger, that held the beautiful silver ring and diamond. “I couldn’t be happier with today. I’m married to the love of my life.”
Sabo smiles gently and closed his eyes, leaning against the backrest and let the moonlight light against his face.
“I am, as well. I couldn’t be any luckier to be married to you now..” taking your hand in his, he intertwines your fingers and brings your hand up to kiss.
He kisses your ring finger specifically and hums.
“Thank you.. for being with me.. I love you, [Name].”
“Of course. Thank you for being with me. I love you, Sabo.”

Part 8 Jaya Arc now with Robin, (who’s fond of Reader, and has been teaching her to read and write) and meet Mashira, the ‘Monkey Man’ but everyone got scared by the ‘giant monsters’ that suddenly appeared and escaped (By rowing incredibly fast) and go to Mock Town, a Resort Island for Pirates
Reader joins Luffy, Zoro and Nami into town (Wearing a disguise, only to discover her poster hasn’t reached this island yet, to their relief and lets her take it off since it’s no doubt uncomfortable) as she and Luffy got an Apple from a strange man, both duds, but it still horrified them that Reader could’ve died (As they’re glaring darkly at the Man) then they find a nice hotel, however the entire place was rented by a ‘Mr. Bellamy’ and his friends insulting the 4 (Reader’s hugging Luffy because she doesn’t like these people) and leave (Nami was especially made when they insulted the red dress she made for Reader because she’s “Too Adorable to wear such ‘Ugly/Cheap Threads”, though Reader told Nami she prefers the clothes Nami makes her than any others clothes, which made her feel a little better)
At a Bar to get information, Luffy gets into a fight with a man over pies and drinks (Reader is confused) and then Bellamy himself demanding to see Luffy, he buys him and her a drink, only to slam Luffy’s head through the bar (Causing Reader to feel scared) though when everyone begins to start attacking Luffy and Zoro, Reader wants to help heal them, but Luffy firmly told her no, so when they leave, she immediately tries to heal Zoro and Luffy’s wounds (And trying to hold in her tears because she was scared)
When the crew gets together again they meet a strange man Mont Blanc Cricket and rencounter the Monkey Brothers (Though they bonded, having fun with Luffy and Reader, making Nami and Usopp worried she might catch Luffy’s ‘Stupidity’) who told them to search for a ‘South Bird’ (Reader got separated, but she found the South Bird and was surrounded by giant insects, they’re very docile around her because she’s sharing her snacks, and was found with a South Bird following her like a Baby Duckling)
But when they came back to see Cricket and the Monkey Brothers beaten up (Everyone is upset after discovering it was the ‘Bellamy’ man who took all the gold Cricket collected) so Reader comes with Luffy because she wants to get Crickets’ gold back, and the whole town was horrified after finally discovering not only does Luffy have a 100 Million Bounty, along with Zoro with a 60 Million Bounty, but Reader has a 150 Million Bounty (Because of the angel of the moon and the size of her horn causing a shadow on her face, everyone who saw Reader were terrified of her when she held her out her hands and politely asked for the gold back, which they did out of fear, as she and Luffy leave them and an unconscious Bellamy behind)
Then Reader along with the Straw Hats wave Cricket and the Monkey Brothers goodbye as they go on the Knock-Up Stream (With Reader a little scared but inside just to make sure she doesn’t fall overboard) not noticing Blackbeard smirking at the Straw Hats and thinks what Luffy and Reader will bring to the world
-It had been about a week since Robin joined the crew and other than Zoro, being stubborn, Robin got along with everyone on the crew, especially you. You were so eager to learn, wanting to be able to read and write, it got to the point where the only time you weren’t practicing is when you ate or were sleeping.
-You were waiting for Luffy and the others to rise from their underwater expedition, worried for them. According to Usopp, who was overseeing the diving expedition, they were looking for material for an island in the sky, which made your eyes go so big, Robin couldn’t help but tease you, “If your eyes get any bigger they’re gonna pop out.” Chopper was laughing at your shocked face before they both had to calm you down as you believed her, which she thought was rather cute.
-Mashira looked like the monkey in your picture book, making your eyes sparkly before he dove down to where your big brothers were, as they tried to lay claim to the shipwreck down below, and your big brothers weren’t going to give it up without a fight.
-When everyone rocketed to the surface, barely escaping the giant sea turtle that ate the ship they were trying to salvage, you were worried, helping Sanji out of his barrel diving suit, holding onto his hand.
-The sky suddenly went dark and both crews turned to see two massive figures that looked to have wings, holding weapons and you held Sanji, shrieking in fear as everyone paddled away.
-When you all arrived in Mock Town, Nami had to brush out your long hair, giggling on how windblown you looked, which made you laugh when she showed you how funny you looked, before she helped you get dressed to go into town, disguising yourself.
-Robin learned the rules about you early on, that you had to be with one of them always, and disguise yourself in town, since you were so highly wanted, something she knew a lot about.
-Mock Town was like a resort town for pirates! There were no marines, and after a bit of hesitation and gentle coaxing from Nami, Luffy, and Zoro, whom you were with, you removed your hat, as your bounty poster hadn’t made it there yet.
-It felt so liberating but also a bit scary, being in town and not wearing your hat as you held onto Luffy’s hand.
-A nice but kind of strange man gave you and Luffy both an apple after he and Zoro helped him onto a horse, which also was rather weak. You both took a bite before a loud explosion took you by surprise, turning and you froze, hearing that the apples were explosive.
-You were both lucky, have gotten duds, and you were quickly tearing up, scared, while Zoro, Luffy, and Nami immediately terrified this man with their murderous looks, never had he felt so scared before!
-Once you were calmed down the four of you headed to a hotel, only to find it completely booked by a man named Bellamy and his crew. A funny looking man named Sarquiss came out and mocked the four of you, throwing money at Zoro, “Get some better looking clothes, you all look so drab, even that little girl’s dress is shabby! Someone so cute should be dressed in something much finer!”
-You looked down at your dress, it was something that Nami made for you, apple red with white sleeves and white leggings, and matching red shoes.
-Nami was being held back by Zoro, her screaming at the laughing man who was walking away while you were hugging Luffy, who had kneeled next to you, comforting you as you didn’t like these strange men.
-You later learned this was a pirate island, with everyone on the island being a pirate! Which made since due to all the violence happening the lack of marine presence.
-They took you to a bar and Luffy sat you on one of the barstools and the barkeeper grinned, seeing you, you were so tiny, before Luffy and a bit man with long black hair got into a fight over pies, which made question marks fly around your head.
-Nami punched Luffy on the top of his head, “Idiot! I told you not to start trouble! We’re here for information only!!” Luffy, now puffy and bruised, apologized.
-A man then stormed in, demanding to fight Luffy, and not wanting to get scolded by Nami again, Luffy refused while Nami went to talk to bartender about Sky Island.
-Everyone started yelling and laughing, making fun of them, calling Sky Island a fantasy! Bellamy said that things like the City of Gold and One Piece were useless things, as there was more treasure to be found around them, not in chasing fantasies!
-Bellamy bought Luffy and you each a drink, getting you juice since you were much too young to have booze, but as soon as Luffy was handed his, Bellamy punched, him and instantly everyone was attacking him and Zoro.
-Nami grabbed you, protecting you as she begged them not to fight, and they didn’t, refusing to fight back, before you were all laughed out of the bar.
-The man with the long black hair ran out and encouraged Luffy to never give up on his dream, which made your eyes widen, seeing Luffy turn to him, shock on his face.
-Once back on the ship you hugged Chopper, holding him close as Nami explained they had no luck getting any information, but Robin did, hearing about a man on the other side of the island, Mont Blanc Cricket, who seemed to know about Sky Island.
-You all ran into Shoujou, whom you learned was a sworn brother to Mashira, but before anything bad could happen, you all managed to escape.
-Once at Cricket’s house, Sanji told you the tail of Liar Noland, who once found the City of Gold, but when he returned with his king and it wasn’t there, the king killed him, calling him a liar. Your eyes were huge and sparkling, “Is there really a city made of gold?!” you were so cute, getting several head pats as nobody could answer you, not wanting to dash your joy.
-Cricket was a nice man after he crawled out of the ocean, introducing himself as Noland’s descendant and to clear his family’s name and prove the existence of the City of Gold, he dives each day, looking for evidence.
-Mashira and Shoujou were followers of Cricket, wanting to know the truth as well, calling themselves the Saruyama Alliance. You and Luffy were playing with the two brothers, they were both so gentle with you and Nami sighed, rolling her eyes, “He better not rub off his stupidity onto Y/N.”
-After Cricket explained about the Knock Up Stream, you all needed to find a South Bird, which always points south, to find it.
-In the forest, looking for the South Bird, Luffy, who was supposed to be watching you, ran off, leaving you alone in a dark forest, making you panic slightly, before you started wandering in the direction Luffy went.
-You sound the South Bird, but not realizing it, it was a nice bird who cooed sweetly when you approached, seeing it surrounded by large bugs, and you were munching on a large bread roll that Cricket gave to you, and you shared your bread with the bird.
-Luffy was black and blue when you arrived back, the South Bird following you like a baby duckling, as he had been punished for leaving you alone, but without his stupidity, you wouldn’t have found the South Bird.
-However, when you all arrived back at Cricket’s, you gasped, seeing that he, Mashira, and Shoujou were all heavily injured, and Luffy was furious, learning that Bellamy and his crew did it, taking the gold he had managed to find.
-You didn’t allow Luffy to leave without you, showing a stubbornness you had never displayed before, and he agreed, under the pinkie promise that you were going to stay back and out of harm.
-People were treating both you and Luffy way differently now, after the new batch of bounty posters came in, and Mock Town was a place where the hierarchy was based on bounties, and both you and Luffy were way higher than the highest bounty on the island, Bellamy.
-Luffy called Bellamy out and you were worried, as he still wasn’t fighting back, even while Bellamy was using his Devil Fruit abilities. You were hiding behind a barrel, peeking out as Luffy punched him only once, instantly beating him, showing everyone that these bounties weren’t fake.
-You trotted out and everyone back pedaled in fear, seeing you there, which surprised you before you spoke up, “Can we have Mr. Cricket’s gold back please.” They instantly brought out the gold, handing it to Luffy before you saw the three new bounty posters, one for Luffy, Zoro, and you and you asked a man for a copy, and he instantly gave you a set.
-Cricket was happy to have his gold back, thanking you both, kneeling to pat your head gently which made you smile warmly before you all said goodbye to the three of them.
-Once back out at sea you showed them all the new posters you had gotten, as you wanted to collect all the bounty posters and jaws dropped, seeing your bounty had went up dramatically, Luffy was at 100 million, while you were now at 150 million!!!
-The Knock Up Stream was terrifying! Sanji had put you in the galley, so you wouldn’t fall overboard, and you were once again under the table, holding onto the post of the table, biting your bottom lip lightly.
-There was a moment of weightlessness, like you were floating for a moment, before you slammed down hard, and everything went dark.

do you like any of the one piece manga colorspreads? if yes, which ones?
I typed up a very long response to this, but since I'm still getting use to my new phone I managed to accidentally close the window.
Here's a outline:
I only started the series a little over a year ago because all my siblings watched it and I wanted in on that sweet bonding time. I didn't even expect to like it honestly, though they changed fairly quickly. I have plans to read the manga, but I'm still working through the series (what I post on this blog is pretty much where I am in the show more or less.
Since I've never read the manga I have no fucking clue what these things are or if they have some kind of deeper meaning. I barely know what chapter or arc they're from.
I totally have favorites. Some of them have Zoro in them so obviously.
Strawhat Story Time
Tumblr media
Honestly, this has to be canon, right? If it isn't it needs to be. I want Robin to take out a book and read the rest of the crew to sleep everytime they are stuck on an island for the night. Of course, I have no idea what she's reading since this is Nico Robin we're talking about; it could be an overly cutesy fairy tale adventure, a dry government approved text on the history of the Grand Line, or just a book of the most gruesome deaths ever recorded (I hope she switches it up every Island or so) but I'd like to think which ever of the possible options Brook always accompanies here with an appropriate backing sound track.
Meanwhile you have Usopp and Chopper looking totally enrapt. Which makes sense. Usopp, of course, loves a good story. I know he's an amazing marksman and all, but part of me still wishes his role on the ship was the chronicler of their adventures or maybe just storyteller. And baby brother Chopper is still innocent enough to fill with wonder as the events unfold, worried the scary looking big dog and kitty cat will never get along and be friends like he so wants.
Then there is Nami, just content to listen while Robin does her thing. Honestly, she's probably just happen no one is actively trying to kill them at the moment. Plus they're camping which saves money so, yeah, she happy.
Neither Sanji nor Franky will be able to tell you what the story is about after she finishes. Sanji because apparently being read to like a child is a big turn on for him. Franky because, well, poor guy is already half asleep. His eyes are open but only just. It gives off big team mom and dad vibes. Franky probably spent his day fixing the ship, watching and playing with the three youngest brothers, keeping the older two from killing each other, and helping Nami as needed. Dude is exhausted, but he's trying to stay up and enjoy this little family moment.
Unlike Luffy and Zoro who are both dead asleep. Neither of them seem like big bedtime story guys. Luffy passes out instantly anyway and is really only interesting in stories if they can tell him something fun to do. Zoro doesn't even care about that. Stories are either are up in which case why bother or they've already happened I'm which case who cares?
Knights Of The Sunny's Dinner Table
Tumblr media
A lot of these I like just got the weird AU settings. Like medieval king Luffy surrounded by his knights (plus whatever Nami is suppose to be.) A few observations:
- Usopp'd knight outfit makes him look sort of like Hercules'n and is perfect.
- Brook has a lute why not just make him the bard! Full metal plate armour is heavy. Brook doesn't have the muscle for that. he doesn't have muscles at all (yohohoho!)
- Chopper is fucking adorable
-. Zoro is obviously Luffy s personal knight and protector. Fight me on it. Love how his jolly roger is on his armour. I assume that means that even back then he fought three sword style.
Zoro Is ON A Cat
Tumblr media
I just like this one okay? First, shout out to Usopp who looks completely balling. Second, did Zoro defeat a giant panther in a fightnjust so he could ride around on it? I think we all know he did.
That's like the first time I've seen him wear his bandana like that. I approve.
Rainbows And Rock N Roll
Tumblr media
Hey, you guys remember that time the Strawhat started a band? No? Oh, right, that's because all recordings of them were destroyed for public safety reasons.
It makes so much sense to stick Luffy with symbols. Like yeah, of course he'd be in the band but how many instruments would you trust him with, really? Where as Usopp seems smart enough that he could easily learn guitar.
Zoro as the drummer also makes perfect sense. He gets to hit things real heard and he's like a steady presence on the crew. The only problem with this drawing? Why no third drumstick in his mouth. Do you coward. You should have gone three stick style.
Also I'd be all about a modern AU where these idiots start a band. And the only bar that will have them just happens to be the one a young medical student visits. He absolutely hates their music, it's loud and annoying and they don't seem to practice or even have a plan, they just get up on stage and chaos ensues. And people absolutely love them. He doesn't understand and yet.... He keeps coming back, every Friday like clockwork.
If nothing else the obnoxious boy with the symbols whose role seems to be bouncing around stage, hanging them together whenever he feels, rallying the crowd and random back up vocals has some amazing sexual chemistry with the silent drummer guy in the back, the one to rocking green hair probably because he thinks it makes him look punk. Like.... It's almost frustrating when he hears girls swooning over them because come on. That can't all just be an act, right? What if they haven't realized it yet? What if they're just that unaware. Law would be more than happy to fill them in provided they thank him with a place in ghei- oh God how much has he had to drink tonight? Fuck he hates The Strawhat Pirates. It's not even a good band name!
ETA: New phone problem. It posted before I was done. I guess I'll do the other seven in a separate post.

Hello! 😍 I'm glad you started your writing journey, wishing you all the luck! May I request Law and Zoro with a girlfriend who adopted a pet parrot? The bird is a loud little hyperactive shit and needs to be under control 24/7 unless you want a disaster. And one day she has to leave the ship till evening so the boys are left with the feather problem for a whole day 😉 Thank you so much! 🥰
REQUEST FROM BAS LET'S GO!!!!
Zoro
Luffy was the reason the bird first got on ship in the first place.
The crew had made a stop on a summer island so various supplies could be restocked.
Sanji went to go get food supplies, Nami went with Robin shopping, Usopp went to go help Chopper get medical supplies, Brook and Franky went to go see a street performance, you went with Zoro to a bar to make sure he didn't get lost, Jimbe stayed behind to meditate and watch the Sunny, and Luffy went off on his own to see what adventure (trouble) he could get himself into.
In the while you and the other Strawhats were having your respective fun, Luffy wandered into the island's jungle. With his old strawhat tied around his neck and slumped on his back he scanned the jungle around him.
Searching for any signs of adventure (or meat) he eventually came upon a giant nest on a rock.
Scratching his head, he sprung onto it and peeked at what was inside.
A small parrot.
Tilting his head, Luffy then scanned the area for any signs of the bird's family. Not a single feather.
He eventually came to the conclusion that the poor thing had been abandoned, so he hoped inside the nest and crouched down over the bird.
"Hey there little-"
The bird screeched at him.
"-little feathery."
This time it screeched louder.
Luffy's face scrunched up as he took notice of the bird's injured wing, the blue feathered limb frantically flapped around aimlessly. Luffy frowned.
"Your family left because you're injured."
Somehow the bird seemed to understand, letting out an affirmative squawk.
In a matter of seconds, a toothy grin emerged of Luffy's face.
"Don't worry! We have a doctor on our ship!"
The bird tilted it's head with a confused squawk.
And that's how it ended up in Chopper's care.
The parrot, Chopper confirming him male and Luffy being correct about his family abandoning him due to his now permanent ability to fly, his bone structure had become so fractured in a fight he was in trying to defend his family's nest took that away from him, he would never fly again.
So with the bird's incapacity to survive on his own in the wild, Luffy declared him a part of the crew.
Everyone groaned, but didn't object to the captain's orders.
So Squawky, (as Luffy named him) became the most entitled member of the crew.
His loud screeches kept the crew awake for hours at night, his demands for food drove Sanji to fantasize about making a chicken out of him, he found a way to get into Nami's treasure room and make off with her berries (which he then made nest out of), he would crawl up Brook's skeleton body and eventually made settle in his afro squawking along with the musician's music, and most notably: his love for you, and absolute hatred for Zoro.
Some crew members like Luffy, Robin, Chopper, Jimbe and Franky got along with Squawky very well, chilling with him time to time.
Usopp was scared of the damn thing.
But you and Squawky had the most bounding relationship.
You'd set on deck reading a book while Squawky circled up on your lap while you petted him with one hand. (He was like a cat)
Every morning he'd bring you gifts (stolen items of Nami's treasure)
When he starts to screech late in the night the only way he will shut up is for you to come over and pet him, it's the only way they'd get sleep period.
He was your baby.
But Zoro however…
Squawky hated your boyfriend.
The bird would turn into the likes of a guard dog every time the swordsmans tried to come near you.
Every time Zoro would come into a room he'd poof up and the swordsman sworn he would start hissing.
"That's no damn bird! It's a fucking cat!"
It'd take some time and encouragement from you for Squawky to start tolerating your boyfriend's presence. (It didn't stop the chilling death glares though)
You love Squawky, and you also love Zoro. And you'd do anything for them to get along.
One day, about two months after Squawky's recruitment into the Strawhats, the crew stopped onto a spring island.
With Jimbe on Sunny duty last time, it was Zoro's turn this trip.
You slung your bag over your shoulders giving Squawky a scratch under his beak, earning you a soft coo from him.
Zoro frowned with his arms crossed as you watched you two from the doorway. You turned and gave him a loving smile before walking up to him and giving him a peck on the lips.
"It'll only be until sun fall," You looked back to Squawky before alternating looks between the two of them as you spoke. "You two can put up with each other until then."
The moment the crew left the ship Zoro slumped down against the post of the mast.
He wasn't dealing with that damn hyperactive little shit parrot, he'd rather nap it off.
It wasn't long before his nap was interrupted by a strange noise.
Zoro opened his one good eye and looked around for the source of the dragging noise.
His hands immediately went for his swords as he hopped up to his feet, scanning the deck for signs of the intruder.
No. Not an intruder.
A nuisance.
Squawky was currently limping with a sack of coins in his beak, he immediately stopped once he found he was spotted by the green threat.
Then this began the great coin chase.
Zoro chased Squawky all over the Sunny. Squawky frantically limping and being weighed down by the bag of coins.
It lasted for hours somehow.
No matter how fast Zoro ran, the parrot somehow was limping faster.
It finally ended when Squawky collapsed and Zoro halted where he stood. He watches as the bird's small body heaved with every breath he took.
The swordsman felt a pang of guilt.
This was his girlfriend's bird afterall…
Zoro then sighed as he marched over and stood over the blue bird. Squawky stared up at him with a glare, which Zoro returned, only to fall back in exhaustion. Zoro then picked up the bird and walked back over to the mast, setting down his swords before sitting down himself, gentilly placing the bird in his lap.
Squawky squawked in weak retaliation.
"Shut up, (Name) wouldn't want to see you like this."
It didn't take them both long to relax then eventually fall asleep together.
When the crew came back everyone had to stifle their laughter.
But you were just happy that both of your boy's managed to bond together.
Tumblr media
Law
Law's eye twitched the first moment you and Bepo brought the thing in.
"Where'd you even find it?"
"Bepo did! He found her at the market when we went on a supply run!"
"You were supposed to go after canned goods and pain killers."
"But captain! Isn't she cute?!"
He never understood how you and Bepo found such things, last time the two of you found those ungodly onesies and he mentally swore to himself NEVER AGAIN.
The thing in question was a parrot, a small breed called a cockatiel. He recognized seeing it in one of the books he read when he was younger.
The thing nipped behind it's wing as she parched herself in your hand.
Law will admit...he likes cute things...just not really birds.
The thing cooed out to him.
"Please captain! Me and (Name) will promise to take care of her!"
"Please, Law!"
Oh no, his weakness to your begging.
No. He was going to stand his ground.
"Seventy three percent of the time we're in a submerged submarine. A bird can't live on board."
In an instant you and Bepo looked at each knowingly. With a nod you to both look at him with the best puppy dog eyes the two of you could muster.
"Please, Law?"
"Please, captain?"
God dammit.
And that's how Cari was brought onto the Heart pirates.
At first things started out alright, Law made it clear as long as the bird didn't get in the way of his work everything would be fine.
The rest of the crew were absolutely in love with Cari.
Penguin and Shachi sat around her perch, trying to make her repeat curse words and naughty phrases after them, Ikkaku would stand in the doorway and shake her head before muttering about the immaturity before walking away.
Jean Bart liked the bird, but he was afraid of hurting her due to his large size so he would always watch her from a distance.
When the sub would emerge above water, Cari would also join Bepo's nap time. Every time the sight would make a wide grin spread wide on your face.
But there were the problems.
Huge problems.
Cari loves to eat. The glutton of a bird will loudly rattle her cage as her chirps would demand for food. And this would always occur in the middle of the night, the walls of the submarine carrying her outbursts all over the ship. When Cari was hungry in the middle of the night and her container was empty, every member of the crew would know.
Law, groaning trying to focus on his work (insomnia edition™) would mentally curse to himself that that bird is like a certain Strawhat.
Then came another one of her problems: Shachi and Penguin's teaching phrases worked.
You'd come into Law's office late at night to come beg him to come to bed. After a couple exchanges of your begging pleas and arms wrapped around his neck while he sat, he finally agreed.
The two of you were cuddled up while Cari's cage sat on your nightstand.
Kisses were pressed to your forehead as you closed your eyes with a smile. Eventually the two of you were relaxed enough to sleep.
"Oh yeah! Fuck me like that!"
Both you and Law's eyes instantly sprang open.
"Son of a bitch! Fuck! Shitting ducks! Pussy!"
Law's body sprang up and with one shambles, Cari and the cage were roomed off to the 'teacher's' cabins.
Law groaned as he laid back down.
That bird was such a nuisance.
It was a hot day in the part of the New World they were in, a summer island had to be somewhere nearby. You and the rest of the crew decided to to chill out on deck and enjoy the sun.
Before leaving to go outside you swung by Law's office to see if he wanted to join. He of course turned the offer saying he had to much work to do and that he would pass.
That made you disappointed, you wanted to lay out on deck together.
You were just about to go get Cari out of her cage for her to get some sunshine when the idea popped into your mind. A wicked smile crossed your face. You walked over to pretend to get something out of your dresser.
"Hey Law?" He grunted in response, eyes still on his paperwork.
"Can you watch Cari for me?"
"Wouldn't she want to be outside?"
"Yeah but Ikkaku says it might she might be comfortable in here-" You tried to think up a lie on the spot. "Too bright out there, you know Grandline usual."
He didn't seem to second guess it, too focused on his work. "Yeah sure."
You smiled before giving him a: "Thanks! Love you!" before dashing out of the room.
"Yeah...love you too."
He didn't think nothing of the bird being in there with him, she wasn't actually bothering him before now. He needed to focus on his plan of infiltrating Punk Hazard.
Cari did seem too quiet though.
Whatever.
After a couple of hours, Law set down his pen and leaned back in his chair. He looked to the doorway.
Maybe a few minutes outside wouldn't hurt.
Then the moment he got up out of his chair:
"Son of a fuck!"
Law groaned, stupid bird.
"Asswipes!"
Law felt at the bridge of his nose.
"Degenerate bird."
"Degenerate bitch!"
Law's eyes snapped to the cage.
How the hell did she get that from that?!
Curiously, Law made his way over to the cage.
Cari perched on her little swing, her wings flapping about. She instantly took notice of Law.
"Depressed bitch!"
It took Law back. Well, she wasn't wrong.
"Fucking! Boobs! Ass! (Name)! Titties!"
Law looked back at his chair and decided to see what the fuck else with bird knew how to say.
After retrieving his chair, he sat it in front of the nightstand and stared glarely at the parrot. Cari tilted her head, looking back him before shoving her face in her food container. In a matter of seconds her neck snapped back as she began to do her food loud empty screech and leaping for one of the bars of the cage, rattling the metal.
Law bent down to open up the sack of bird seed on the floor slumped against the nightstand. He scooped some out with the measuring cup inside the bag and leaned up to hold it in front of the cage.
Cari popped her head through the bars and screeched for it.
"What other words have those idiots taught you?" Cari blinked twice.
"Slut." Law deadpanned.
This fucking bird.
When you finally came back inside, you smiled to yourself hoping the two would've spent some quality time together.
You stood in the door in awe at the sight you saw.
Law asleep slumped over while the door to Cari's cage was wide open and the bird was perched on your boyfriend's shoulder.
"Did they have a goo-" you shushed Bepo and motioned for him to come look, he quietly gasped in both shock and awe, sparkles in the polar bear's eyes.
You looked back at the scene with a loving smile.
You knew Law would come around to her eventually.
Now where's that camera?
