Okay so, one of my problems with creator boundaries as an event runner is that it's impossible to keep up with them all, because they're being updated, and because so much of the time you learn them when they're reported to you, you weren't in stream yourself. So it's a game of telephone, and there's a constant issue that the message gets garbled in translation.

So the stance that I've taken as an event runner is that I will not be enforcing boundaries, and everyone can decide for themselves what relationships they're comfortable with. This seemed like the best stance for me to deal with the beeduo /p /r wars, and then I have continued to see many other smaller or larger instances where I've gone "yeah, enforcing creators boundaries as an event mod is a nonstarter, I'm sticking with that".

And I've been mostly concerned about issues like— I am not an avid watcher of Gem streams! I might miss things that happen in Gem streams, I don't know what the creator's exact boundaries are for what's okay to do in her vision. But meanwhile I've been over here in Phil streams, and I've assumed that I have known Phil's boundaries, because they get repeated SO MUCH. Everybody knows— no nsfw, and then we argue about if the only shipping allowed is with Mumza (the dsmp stance) or if his continued gay flirting with men on QSMP means he's okay with shipping with them (he kissed a man on camera on QSMP, for example). That is the received wisdom about Phil's boundaries, we all know where we stand and how we're interpreting things.

And I have been like okay, Phil doesn't want to see NSFW, I don't think he's reading my Ao3 history, maybe I will read the occasional pissa fic for fun. There are some good fics in the tag, you know. I will just keep it out of his sight, and the streamer doesn't have to know, right?

Cut to today, where I'm being kicked out of a discord server for bookmarking one (1) Phil NSFW fic. They sent me a clip to prove that NSFW was against the rules and why I was getting kicked. So I watched the clip in the interest of completeness.

And guys, when I tell you my jaw fucking dropped, because I do NOT agree that anyone should have asked the streamer this, but someone got him to talk about NSFW fan work, "weirdchamp shit", and he explicitly with his mouth says that he "could not give a shit" and "everybody lets out their creativity in different ways", and "ultimately it isn't hurting anybody", and as long as he doesn't see it, he's fine with it. As long as it's kept out of his stream he's fine.

So uh, guys? I know it's not like we haven't been cautiously creeping this way ourselves, just keeping it out of the streamer's sight, but explicitly, word of god from the streamer, I think Phil NSFW has been legal this whole time.

Summary: Your BAU coworkers throw you a surprise birthday party, but it triggers eating problems from your past.

Your surprise 30th birthday party was scheduled the day before your birthday.

You’d never particularly enjoyed celebrating your birthday, for no other reason than you were less than comfortable being the center of attention. Having all eyes on you brought pressure and self-consciousness rather than joy. But when your girlfriend Emily asked for permission to plan something special for your 30th, you couldn’t exactly say no.

Ultimately, Emily made the mistake of asking Penelope for help with planning, and that’s when she came clean with you about the surprise party.

You were grateful for the heads-up—you’d never had a surprise party before and weren’t sure how you would’ve reacted under that pressure. But when you stood in front of the mirror, appraising your appearance, you debated making up an excuse to get out of going.

You’d decided on a short black dress that hugged your frame and simple black heels. The dress made you feel confident when you purchased it, but you hadn’t worn it out yet. Now, it felt like it was suffocating you and highlighting your every flaw. Your eyes ran over every imperfection, each appearing more glaring than the last.

“Ready, love?” Emily asked, stepping out of the bathroom and into the bedroom you shared.

Your heart stopped at the sight of your girlfriend. Her raven hair was curled, and she was wearing a tight red dress that took your breath away. You couldn’t help yourself—you found yourself envying her seemingly effortless confidence.

Even more so, when you saw the hopeful smile on her face, you knew you couldn’t back out.

“I’m not sure,” you said, squirming. “That this outfit is right. Do we have time if I change?”

Emily frowned. “We can be as late as you want; nothing starts without you. But are you sure? You look beautiful.”

You turned to the mirror again, as though her words were enough to make you change what you saw. Your heart sank when you realized they weren’t, but you also didn’t want to have to explain to your friends why you were late.

Forcing a smile, you turned back to Emily. “You’re right; let’s go.”

*** The ruse behind the surprise party was that you were dropping something off at Rossi’s that he’d left at the office, and you were supposed to be on your way to dinner with Emily. But even though you were prepared for what was waiting for you on the other side of the door, you couldn’t help yourself from clinging to Emily’s side.

You braced yourself as you approached the front door, hand in hand with Emily, and rang the bell.

“Come on in!” Rossi called from the other side of the door.

“Ready?” Emily whispered.

Not trusting your voice, you nodded.

Emily opened the door to reveal complete darkness. When she hit the light switch, the entire BAU jumped out and yelled, “Surprise!”

Despite knowing this was coming, you still jumped.

“Happy birthday, love,” Emily planted a kiss on your cheek.

“It’s not even my birthday yet,” you said, hoping you sounded surprised enough to fool a room full of profilers.

“That’s part of the surprise,” Penelope sang. “When Peaches told me we were planning a party for your birthday, I knew we had to go all out.”

You turned to Emily, who whispered, “Sorry.”

Well, that explained the extravagance, at least. You were grateful your girlfriend knew you well enough to warn you ahead of time.

Rossi’s house was almost unrecognizable. A fact that, based on the scowl Rossi couldn’t keep off his face for long, he wasn’t thrilled with. You threw an apologetic smile his way, and he winked in reply.

Streamers and balloons hung from the light fixtures and along the ceiling. You followed them into the kitchen, where a full bar and spread was waiting.

“Guys, this is too much,” you flushed.

Spencer stepped forward. “You know, by the time you’re 30—”

“Drink, Y/N?” Morgan interrupted.

You chuckled. “Please. Wine would be great.”

Hotch, JJ, and Rossi wished you a happy birthday on their way to the food. Emily, knowing what you needed, wasn’t far away.

Morgan handed you a Moscato and Emily a cabernet, which you took gratefully, before he made his way to the food as well.

“Can I get you a plate?” Emily asked, resting a hand on your lower back.

“Maybe in a bit,” you said, your appetite dissipating. You’d been unable to eat anything all day due to the nerves, which had caught up with you on the drive over. But now that you were here, the sight of food was enough to make you nauseous. “But you go ahead.”

Despite your insistence, Emily stayed by your side. Gradually, the group made their way out to the backyard, where string lights cascaded like rain.

“Penelope,” you breathed. “This is beautiful.”

Your friend blushed. “Oh, it’s nothing.”

“No, it wasn’t,” you argued.

“No, it wasn’t,” she agreed immediately with a giggle. “But it was worth it to see that look on your face.”

“Speaking of…” Emily said, sliding over to your side and nodding toward something behind you.

You turned to find Morgan and Hotch delicately balancing a three-tiered cake, lavishly decorated in pastel frosting and delicately placed flowers, with what you assumed were thirty candles lit at the top. All around you, your friends burst into a slightly off-tune rendition of “Happy birthday,” but all you could focus on was the pile of sugar beelining in your direction.

Hotch and Morgan set the cake down on the table nearest you, and you felt the blood drain from your face as you fought to keep a smile on it.

“Happy birthday to you…” The group sang, holding out the last note.

Your heart hammered in your chest, and you closed your eyes to fight the tears that were brimming in them, as you pretended to ponder your wish. When you felt composed enough, you opened them just enough to get a peek of where you were aiming and blew out the candles in one fell swoop.

Your friends erupted in cheers, and Hotch started plucking the candles out and placing them on a plate. Morgan picked up the knife and began cutting out slices for everyone, and you couldn’t take your eyes off the large slices he prepared.

Despite your best efforts, past comments from your mom rattled around your brain.

Are you going to eat all that?

You need to watch your figure.

No one will love you if you keep eating like that.

As if knowing your doubts and wanting to combat them, Emily reached out to hand you a piece of cake. “First piece for the birthday girl,” she sang, leaning over to kiss you on the cheek.

You glanced from the dessert to your girlfriend’s eyes, which were filled with love. But your heart hammered in your chest—what if it was just for show? What if your mom had been right all those years ago?

“Are you okay, love?” Emily lowered her voice so only you could hear.

No one will love you if you keep eating like that.

“I’m just not hungry,” you said, cursing your voice for shaking. “I had a late lunch today.”

Across the room, Spencer frowned. “Weren’t you guys supposed to be on your way to dinner?”

You clammed up. “Um, yes, but—”

“C’mon, Y/L/N, you can’t pass up at least one bite of your birthday cake,” Morgan teased.

Though you knew it came from a place of love, it felt like mounting pressure weighing on your shoulders. And with each passing moment, another one of your friends looked in your direction, and you couldn’t take the attention.

“I’ll be right back,” you whispered, pushing past Emily and back into the house.

Tears blurred your vision, and your chest felt like it was caving in. You weren’t sure how you were still breathing.

The first door you reached, which you were sure was a guest bathroom, you threw yourself inside it, only to discover a pile of coats waiting on the other side. You wiped your tears away to discover you’d thrown yourself in a closet, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.

You collapsed to your knees, letting your emotions take over. What was wrong with you? Why couldn’t you enjoy the birthday party your friends threw for you without ruining it?

Why couldn’t you just eat the damn cake?

You cursed your mother, whom you’d stopped talking to the moment you turned 18 and moved out, for still holding such power over you and your inner thoughts. You knew what she said was wrong, but in moments like these, her voice was louder than your own rationale.

When the closet door cracked open, you clamped a hand over your sobbing mouth to muffle the sound. The last thing you needed was for anyone here to see you like this.

But it was Emily’s face that peered down at you. She slipped through the door and closed it behind her, taking the space next to you on the floor.

“What’s wrong, love?”

She offered you her arms and you collapsed in them, letting her embrace you.

“It’s my mom,” you hiccupped through your tears.

“Did she say something?” The instantly fierce, protective tone in your girlfriend’s voice filled your chest with warmth. Emily was no stranger to the issues with your mother, and faced similar issues with her own mom. It was one of the things that bonded you together at the beginning of your relationship.

“No, not recently. It’s just… things she’s said before all came rushing back. And the idea of eating that cake, with everyone staring at me, was just too much,” you whispered.

Emily cursed under her breath. “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I should’ve thought about that before letting Pen plan this whole thing. Do you want to leave? I can sneak us out of here; you don’t need to see anyone else tonight if you don’t want to.”

You smiled into her shirt, your tears slowing. It was a tempting offer, but you knew what you needed to do.

“No. I can’t let her have that power over me. I just didn’t expect it all to bubble up like this.”

Emily rubbed circles on your back, and you focused on the sensation, letting your breathing return to a normal rhythm.

“Take as long as you need. We’re not in a hurry.”

You wanted to ensure you wouldn’t fall apart in front of your friends again, so you gave yourself a minute to collect yourself. Just as you were about ready, Emily whispered in your ear.

“Who would’ve thought? The two of us, back in the closet together.”

You coughed out a laugh, surprising yourself with it. Emily joined in and the two of you fell against each other, letting the giggles ride out. When you were ready, you kissed your girlfriend gently, and she helped you to your feet. She always knew what to say to make you laugh.

“I love you,” you said.

“I love you, too,” Emily replied, taking your hand. “You ready?”

“Yes. But if Spencer tries to make another comment about being 30, I might kill him.”

Emily squeezed your hand, kissing the back of it. “Don’t worry, I’ll help.”

Very dear to my heart. Watching Kakuzu drop his guard down when faced with Hidan’s relentless naivete and determination makes my brain go all mushy.

Literally, anything by this author is top-tier storytelling writing, and you know you are always in for a fun ride!!

If you are looking for something more lighthearted, try ХИДАН ЛАЖАЕТ. It’s a fun story about video game streamer Hidan and his secret admirer, Kakuzu.

[English] Is it Life or Art? by lilac_bramble

This story is just so much fun, London socialite/model/”personality” Hidan and investment banker Kakuzu. Truly like peak Kakuhida to me. I really enjoy their relationship here. Their chemistry just works so well. This story is nearly the same word count as Game of Thrones. I am not joking. I am obsessed with authors' in-depth, detailed little tidbits of life in London.

[Japanese] 【角飛】めまゐ【web再録】by Puola

I love stories about characters told by someone completely unrelated, like a view from outside. I think this story does it so well. I loved seeing the tiny glimpses into how other people see them. It’s a short but a very special story. They cannot escape ‘These two really care for each other’ allegations.

It is a truly amazing story from start to finish. I couldn’t stop reading it. Cruel, funny, witty dialogue, violence, great character insight, everything juicy remains in subtext and subtext alone. Lots of fun revelations are left up to the reader's interpretation, which I really enjoyed. Great example of how a sex scene can be used to show more hidden aspects of a relationship and how the two come together. The whole premise is really unusual and refreshing.

[English] Like steps of passing ghosts by Sneakend

The storytelling reminds me of an official Naruto light novel. The same like tempo and the dynamic between them just feels very much like them. The story premise is simple but satisfying. I love it when Hidan is affected by the supernatural.

[English] In Limbs and Joints by orphan_account

Zombie AU. Loved, loved, loved the ending. I hate reading zombie AU, where characters survive for a bit too long makes everything drag on and on. This story is perfect. We get them coming in, and then the end feels even more gut-wrenching but also super satisfying. Really well done!

[English] Kakuzu and the Temple of Jashin by fauvester

Ultimate comfort story. It’s camp; it’s scary, it’s gory, it’s funny. I just love everything about this story.

(This is all about the characters I’m too lazy to use q! all the time)

My CRITICISM of Bad is that from my pov, it’s been a long time of feeling that Leo is more of just a prop for him to be the “good guy” savior of the eggs. She also becomes a prop for him to just rub it in Foolish’s face that he’s a terrible parent (which out of RP I actually find to pretty poor rp etiquette because it’s just rude to pressure streamers to constantly be on the server. It also eggs on his viewers). The whole room situation just further makes me question if he really respect her as much as he wants to preach. Like I find it genuinely mean that his character is often insinuating or outright saying that Foolish doesn’t love his child…..maybe if he watched an hours long compilation if the effort he puts into Leolingo he’d change his mind

And ngl task-wise Ive always enjoyed her with Roier or Cellbit more since she can comfortably communicate with them and they’re mindful of that. So I hope in this new egg arc she can continue to hang out with them more

Yeah, I don’t really agree with the whole Bad was the best babysitter available thing because of this. Like egg babysitting really just came down to who was with the egg parent and who the egg wanted to be with that was online. Especially since a lot of the things that made taking care of the eggs hard are because of outside factors both the admin and parents face that they can’t just up and change. Which sometimes Bad does use against Foolish which isn’t really fair or when bbh defenders use it against egg parents who can’t watch their children due to outside factors to make bad kinda of look better.

So it can feel like he just uses the eggs or specifically Leo to be the good guy which I don’t think he does as intentionally as it can seem. Again I think sometimes people forget that Bad has no morals. Even though he does love and care about the eggs, when it comes to their parents in the end he will break their parents boundaries and ultimately hurt their parents. Like imagine the eggs hear about what Bad was like in purgatory, as a child I wouldn’t want to be around that person even if I’ve known them previously. Think of it like having an uncle that got into a fight with the child’s parent, as a child that loves their parent, they wouldn’t really care what happened they would immediately want to defend their parent.

With Leo specifically it can feel like he uses her as a prop against Foolish kinda because Bad forgets that Foolish is actually a responsible parent and that Leo does honestly trust and love him. Which is annoying for the doozers who know that they are literally each other’s number one priority since day one.

Also yes, I agree so much with the last point. I love the sibling duo that is Leo and Roier when there together I feel like Leo really get to shine the same way she does with Foolish. I hope she gets to log on more with Roier and Cellbit especially with Pepito and their collective Latin America Lag issues.

jerma who plays with the end of his jacket sleeve, or a frayed thread, or your fingers while he makes another quip that undoubtly is funny but you don't respond the way he perceives as right, not that you responded wrong but you're focused on the movie and spare a giggle but... why was the pit in his stomach growing? he lays his head on your shoulder and you knock your head lightly into his.

the pit grows and he feels like he's sweating when there's an elongated silence between you and he mumbles an apology and you look at him so so confused, "why are you apologizing?" as far as you're concerned you two have been having a good time watching the movie.

"dunno," he replies, trying to shrug it off but you can tell the way he avoids looking back towards you, now staring at the screen hardcore. "don't want you to be bored, y'know, in case you didn't... like the movie." don't want you to be bored with him in case you don't like him anymore. you grab his head softly and kiss his temple.

"i love you," you whisper into his head, so that he can hear you and the one other person in the theater can't, "i'm not bored, i promise, i'm having a good time here. with you." he can feel the growth of the pit and the nerves stop, but still it sits, and with a few other chaste kisses to his cheek as a reminder that you are there, he tells himself it'll be fine.

What are your thoughts on C!Wilbur now? Anything changed?

I’m asking for reference because I’m honestly having a hard time figuring out what to think. I was never really attached to ccWilbur in the first place and what he did was absolutely shit so the decision to stop supporting him wasn’t hard. But dear lord the character he played was so well-crafted(again I don’t support him at all). I just really don’t know where to draw the line between the story and the writer, if that should influence my admiration for this really well-crafted character or if me still liking c!Wilbur counts as support to the creator.

Heads up, probably gonna get a bit long and ramble-y here, I haven't really gotten to think or talk about this much yet.

I'm still not entirely sure where I stand with c!Wilbur at this point in time- because on the one hand, whenever I see a drawing of Wilbur with a white streak in his hair I go "Ah, c!Wilbur" and don't feel particularly strongly about it. While the character and the streamer are unequivocally linked and I'd rather avoid writing about c!Wilbur in the future, they're still not the same person in my mind.

Yeah, I mean, I liked cc!Wilbur well enough before all of this- but my primary reason for watching him was definitely Tommy (didn't really watch many of his streams if Tommy wasn't also there kekw). I consider myself rather fortunate in that I've already gone through getting a little too dependent on a streamer for comfort who then turned out to be a really shitty person ages ago, so now I'm much more careful to keep a stronger degree of separation. No parasocial relationships here, thank you very much. Been there, done that.

I think the only person I would genuinely have some level of difficulty with dropping at this point is Tommy. Ooh, big shocker coming from the person who writes almost exclusively Tommyinnit-centric things, I know.

But yeah, back to Wilbur-- regarding c!Wilbur in fanfics, I unfortunately can't just remove the influence he's had over c!Tommy- just like I can't remove the impact c!Dream's had on c!Tommy's life. I also can't change c!Tommy's perspective of c!Wilbur, so at least regarding TomTurtles, Tommy's still going to mention Wilbur, and he's still going going to think of him his older brother and someone that he cares about.

However, as the writer, I will be far less merciful in how he's portrayed, regardless of c!Tommy's biased perspective (c!Wilbur isn't going to show up- that was never in the cards outside of a now scrapped idea for a non-canon fic in the series where c!Wilbur has actually been living in the same America as Tom and the turtles and they find each other again)

After I'm done writing the crossover series though, I don't think I'll be including him in anything else. Which is a shame only because it means I can't use c!Tommy.

Sure, most of my portrayals of Tommy will probably still draw heavily from c!Tommy but I probably won't be able to take him straight from dsmp anymore.

Upside to scrapping all of my ideas that included Wilbur- I can completely replace him with Technoblade AKA, more bedrock bros content \o/ (That being said, most of my fic ideas at this point in time are just various AUs getting Tommy to interact with the cast of rottmnt ahaha-)

All that is to say: While I ultimately view c!Wilbur and cc!WIlbur as different, the second I've finished writing this series, he will most likely never be mentioned or shown again in any of my fics after that. Might as well give any roles he might've played to someone more deserving.

And support Shubble, I'm so incredibly grateful that she decided to speak up about all this.

Zootopia gets its own spin-off series streaming later this week; six new stories return to the mammal metropolis for a deep dive into the film’s characters.

Disney+ has released a trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia+, a new series that heads back to the mammal metropolis named Zootopia and promises a deeper dive into the lives of the most intriguing residents, including Fru Fru, the fashion-forward arctic shrew; ZPD dispatcher Clawhauser, the sweet-toothed cheetah; and Flash, the smiling sloth all during the time of the original film.

All six episodes hit the streamer November 9.

Josie Trinidad (Zootopia, Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Trent Correy ( Frozen: Once Upon a Snowman, Drop) direct the series, and Nathan Curtis (Encanto, Raya and the Last Dragon) is the producer.

Episode 1 “Hopp on Board”

Judy boards the train from Bunny Burrow to Zootopia to begin her life as the big city’s first bunny cop, and Stu and Bonnie’s youngest daughter, Molly, board too. The down-to-earth duo is forced out of their comfort zone and into an action-packed rescue mission.

Tommy had been ecstatic, finally having the pleasure of introducing you to his chat, as well as letting you get well acquainted with his closest friends. You both were on holiday for Christmas break, giving the two of you ample time to both get in good content for Tommy’s YouTube channel as well as getting you used to being on camera. Tommy knew you were a little shy to being paraded around being filmed, but as his best friend you were determined to become enveloped in his passion.

So, that lead to Tommy teaching you everything there is to know about being the high quality streamer he is, making sure you were comfortable before making your greatly awaited appearance. And on a snowy December evening, you sat eager by Tommy’s side, as he booted up his PC, making final adjustments to his OBS profile. Of course, you were nervous to be introducing yourself to a viewing range nearing 100k, but with the boy’s words of comfort, you knew you’d be okay.

“Are you a hundred percent sure you’re ready, because if not..” His voice trailed off. You offered your convincing response, taking his hand in yours. “I’m sure.” And to your surprise, his hand stayed in yours; rubbing your palm with his forefinger and thumb, ensuring your stability. And in 3 .. 2 .. 1! HIs stream had commenced. With the title:

The able sisters played in the background while viewers pooled in by the thousands, excited to see what antics Tommy would be up to on said oc casion. After a minute or two of reading chat, he unmuted. “What is UP chat! I’ve got some big news, as well as a very special guest!” With the fore mention of said guest, his chat filled with guesses of who said person will be. Was it Tubbo, or Willbur? Maybe even Quackity or George! Needless to say, everyone was hyped.

Tommy was just as excited, even more so because while his chat was expecting a returning guest - he had someone brand new to show off. And show off, he did. From the second he turned on his camera to reveal you, he was jumping around, yelling and playing around with you. “Chat! Thisssss is my bestest friend in the whole entire world, Y/n!”

And needless to say they were more than happy to welcome you to their shared community with open and loving arms. Things in the likeness filled the replies in his chat.

“OHMYGOD I’m making a stan acc this is so wholesome fhjebfr!”

One user replied, with another coming in asking:

“Tommy why are they sm cooler than you are this is they’re acc now.”

While you had barely said anything to Tommy or his chat, your bubbly personality had come through ten fold while joking about. And while you continued playing into Tommy’s arrogant online persona, some donations came in asking if the two of you were more than friends, which of course made you question the integrity of the donators, but ultimately didn’t bother you. You knew your crush on Tommy hadn’t full developed enough to cause you to be jealous, but what did bother you was one specific donation that spoke of a girl from his school.

Gnftwt gifted 10 subs! “Tommy, how does Y/n feel about the date you went on with Heather? :D have a good stream big man”

Your facial expression immediately changed, as well as Tommy’s initial behavior. He sat back down in the chair to read the set of text again, before replying: “Heather, the one from college? Well…” His face blushed, indicating he had remembered the encounter, and from the look on his face you could tell it was an event he was certainly fond of. A pit of despair sunk in your chest, as you felt your cheeks flush from embarrassment. You playfully nudged his arm, trying to quell the lump that’d formed in your throat.

“Ay, you never told me you had a crush, Tommo.” Your eyes burnt like fire as a salty liquid welled in your tear ducts. You avoided his eye contact, instead opting for reading more comments that appeared on his monitor.

“Heather is SO pretty’ “How did you ever manage to bag someone like that???”

A girl, huh. Someone chat seemed to find favor over you, all of a sudden. Tommy almost immediately caught sight of the tears pooling down your face, as you desperately batted them away from your eyelashes. Tears trickled down your nose, to your trembling lips, and he ultimately didn’t know what to do. So, he improvised.

“Hey hey, what’s the matter? Why are you crying?” He placed the palm of his hand on your knee. You wiped your eyes on the sleeve of your lavender sweater, standing up from your seated position. “N-nothing, I’m fine. Just a little overwhelmed.” No matter what sultry words had came from his mouth seemed to help at this point, as your crying had turned into hyperventilating. You played it off as a sudden unexpected panic attack.

Tommy quickly turned off his camera and muted his mic, opting to fill his stream view with a title that read “BRB”. Seeing the state of you, as you stumbled across the room trying to find your phone, as well as your shoes. “Y/n what’s the matter with you? C’mon now you’re scaring me.” You continued your search for your things. “Nothing nothing, I just need to go home, like now.” Out his bedroom door you went.

He followed you out the door and down the stairs, standing in front of his front door before you’d gotten the chance to leave. His next few words were stern. “You can’t leave! It’s snowing outside, you won’t make the walk home.” You took a step towards the door but his demeanor didn’t change. “Look, I’m sorry if the stream was too much. I should’ve known it was too much for you right now, I’m sorry. So just come back upstairs and we can talk about whatever is bothering you.”

He held out his hand, and stepped away from the door, hoping you’d calm down and accept his offer. However, you didn’t. With a final confusing farewell, you stated. “No, why don’t you invite Heather over, I’m sure everyone would love to see her more than me. Especially you.” And with that, you were out the door into the snow, leaving Tommy on his doorstep.

Ahhh i try not to think about MSR but god it makes me so mad sometimes.

Aghhhh. He had this entire fanbase of insecure teenagers, which he fully knew and acknowledged countless times. He knew people clung onto his every fucking word, his ego was constantly stroked.

So he puts out this album where its about self loathing and the consequences of your own stupidity. But he's always the victim, his friends have left his life because he's just so sad (totally not because he fucking hurt those friends or anything) He's a bad partner but that's cause he's sad.

His audience related to the actual relatable parts so much that we completely looked past how insincere and immature they were coming from his position. Goddd. I could fucking go on about how he used his audience's insecurities to shield himself from criticism.

During the period where stans were getting harassed for being obsessive, he would reaffirm how uncomfortable his success made him. And while it can be true, there's also that nuance of his audience feeling shameful and wrong for things like hyperfixations (which he also fostered a community of neurodivergent people, in part because of his jokes and insinuations about being autistic)

Intentional or not, he created the perfect community to overlook potential flaws. Its a common thing with any public figure, yeah, but it just makes me mad. Ultimately his fanbase was so susceptible to those self-hating tendencies that many of us still blame ourselves to this day just for falling for a facade.

But it's not any fans fault ultimately, because he was a good liar and an even better "comfort streamer"

Max and Lando with a college athlete (would that even work????)

Max and lando taking care of adhd & independent reader who is incapable of staying in bed (due to adhd) and refuses to ask for help (independent)

Max and lando bickering about whose teams are better at sim racing/video games (quadrant vs redline) then subsequently getting their asses and their teams asses kicked by their streamer gf (idk enough about competitive video games for this I play for stories)

Lando and reader (?) comforting max about Jo’s and just general shitty family situation (& vice versa for shitty family for reader)

Hope this helps, these are not requests but ideas™️ as you said.

Now I sleep it’s 10:30 and I have work at 8.

Norstappen with a college athlete sounds chaotic at best. Since the only sport formula drivers are remotely good at is their own, I firmly believe they would try and fail at her area of expertise. Max would just be lazy and put minimal effort in where Lando would go overboard and end up hurting himself. all the while she is sat in the corner recording and wheezing in laughter.

I feel the independence thing on another level. Can't convince me Lando isn't ADHD coded either. Could see him scrambling around attempting to get things in order so she doesn't have to, but ultimately stressing himself out. Max would send him to go lay down with her and make sure she doesn't move by talking about her current hyper fixation (bonus if its something they can do in bed together). Max would work out meals, cleaning, and whatever else she could set her mind to that's not resting. When she inevitably does try to be productive, everything is done. Max stands there in the kitchen with his hands on his hips wondering why she isn't in bed and carries her back to Lando who is napping.

The streamer one just makes sense. This is an argument I can see them having irl and getting more and more ridiculous about it. Then their streamer girlfriend joins in just for the fun of it and demolishes both of them. It works like a charm every. single. time. They would absolutely fight over who gets to have her on their team and scream for her to come help them if they were losing or stuck somewhere.

Lando, as far as I can tell, has a decent relationship with his family. He would bring Max and their girlfriend around and Max does the thing where he jokes about trauma like it's normal. Subsequently, he is adopted by the Norris' and they start splitting their time between the McLaren and Redbull garages. If their girlfriend has a decent home life then I can see them welcoming Max in immediately. On the other hand, I usually write from a personal perspective... There is no way in hell Max and Lando would be letting their girlfriend around her parents alone if they have had a shit past with them. Max comes armed with a temper and glare and will not hesitate to set Lando off like a feral chihuahua. I also wouldn't put it past Lando to just be snarky to Jos any chance he gets. He doesn't care if there are cameras around. He just wants to make sure he gets his point across.

@cerastes oh no worries!! i'm actually OK to answer this because maybe the key is that i'm doing something wrong and knowing how to fix it might make it enjoyable for me again.

More of a "circumstances" cause than what i was expressing in the post, but right now is more a problem of space and time. I live with my parents and I have a problem with the volume of my voice and since i tend to prefer streaming late at night i find it impossible to be comfortable unless i'm guaranteed to be home alone. I could have streamed more when I was in my apartment in Paris, but it is what it is. So, if i ever change my mind, it would be after i solve this problem!

Maintaining a schedule is a difficult, especially since i tend to be more of a "fuck around and decide what to do on instant T". I could be more of a "guerilla streamer" where I don't stick to a schedule (like i did in the past) and stream whatever i want, whenever i want.

I don't really know if I can bring a community and it impacts my self esteem to not really know how to draw people in because (continued in next point)

Overall, I do not consider myself to be an interesting person to watch. I have a bit of an "identity crisis" where I try to perform but also want to be myself and I overall feel very uncomfortable. I know my bit is my Antagonizing Relationship With Chat (which i do love and appreciate because, despite having a bit of paradoxical issues with "joke trashtalking", i am conscious that this is The Bit like pro wrestling. i actually love it haha), but I also feel there's eyes watching my every action and that if i don't do something Funny, people will lose interest. And the paradox is that this fear just manifests in me... not speaking, being confused, having trouble finding my words and thinking "god, i'm making a fool out of myself" and just thinking of excuses i can make to end the stream to stop embarrassing myself. My last streaming experiences last year was just that all the time. I really wish I could fix this.

Maybe the problem is that I haven't found my niche as a streamer, since it takes time and effort + trial and error, and that i need to actually find out what i like.

And there's also the fact that, in the end, video games are a hobby for me and streaming them brings a totally different experience. There's good and bad aspects of this. The Super Castlevania IV streams were my ultimate favourite experience because everyone made it so fun, whereas i ended up disliking streaming a certain game i used to like a lot because i kept getting backseated. I don't know how to express it, maybe "i don't like the pressure of monetizing my hobby" (without the monetizing aspect and more of the "dedicate to the bit" aspect of it). But that's a non-problem in the end because the pros outweighs the cons, so Perish the Thought.

Writing all that down was actually a good idea, because i externalized the struggle i felt about streaming (whenever i feel like i want to stream something i always kill the thought thinking "you're not interesting. don't do that. remember your last streams?"). I actually wrote this vent post after someone asked me enthusiastically if i'd be streaming the new Pizza Tower update, which made me kind of bummed because i would love to do it if there wasn't all this struggle i just listed (+ the time constraint because "you have to stream the hot new game NOW" although i have made it clear in the past that i do not vibe with that school of thought), and in that i feel like i've let down the few people who do appreciate me streaming...

So in the end, it's all that. But writing this made me a bit more hopeful I can enjoy this again...! If i make the effort, I can do this!
