tw: homophobic slurs
Obviously, I do not agree with the usage of homophobic slurs. It’s not cool. It doesn’t matter if it’s being directed at cops or Republicans or any group that I dislike. If someone uses slurs against an enemy of theirs, then they have probably used it against the group that it’s meant to disparage.
I just wanted to post this because of A) how perfectly she handled the police - you don’t necessarily have to curse, but never ever ever let them enter your home without a warrant B) to show how the police routinely lie about having search warrants + doing sketchy shit for their alleged “safety,” and C) because I truly believe this was a white person, and that + being recorded are literally thee only reasons they stayed polite and didn’t goon squad rush her ass.
White people generally get away with being crass and disrespectful to police officers. Sandra Bland, on the other hand, got murdered for being “too uppity.”

When I think about American attitudes to parenting there's something that always comes to mind, but I don't know whether it's a real thing. All my life in American films and TV I've heard child characters addressing their dads as "sir" or being told off for not doing so.
Is that really a commonplace thing in American families, or is it just a shorthand way of showing that the character is a shitty dad?

no but fr one of the reasons the early marvel films really go off is because you've never really seen a dynamic that goes off so so hard like cap and tony does. the sheer amount of times they had metal-heavy tension and conflict-of-opinion scenes together is beyond me. in every avenger films, they were always the ones who were butting heads and it's absolutely baffling and intriguing to me how different and opposite their moral principles and personalities are, considering these two are sort of the main leaders of the team. in most avengers conflict, they were always responsible for the main plot points. i very very much adore their dynamic.
LIKE imagine going from these sequences of scenes of them looking hatefully from each other:
to THIS (of them looking at each other with a bone-deep level of understanding of one another)
like be for REAL that "do you trust me" line fucking KILLED me. that's literally the culmination of years of hate and friendship and heartbreak and trust and bond right there people. you can't possibly TOP that. their dynamic is one of the main centers of the mcu, fight me on this

Do you guys ever think that Steve Rogers forgets that he’s in his post serum body?
Like he went from being a 90 pound 5’2 asthmatic, to 6’2 240 pounds and has the body of a God. Why does nobody ever talk about the body dysmorphia he must’ve had. Like the absolute shift in just the way he had to do things. There has at least had to be a few times where he has looked in the mirror and actually scared himself because he forgot what he looked like.
