A bit late to post because of my schedule preparing & celebrating Chinese New Year in real life and fixing the shadow for each item that made me have to re-create the CC several times until it got correct. Finally it's done and satisfied that I managed to create so many CC for this short time within 2 weeks, wow. These are my meshes, except the doors are by EA and they are functional.

Nian Gao （年糕）is a sweet rice cake that is traditionally eaten during the lunar new year celebrations.

MTSims-Cakestore was a website that housed many works from creators, particularly Chinese, for The Sims 2, 3, and 4. Their website ceased to exist around 2019, thereby taking down many amazing CC from creators such as LemonLeaf, Qingshuang Tongzi, Moirae, Twilight, and more. How to avoid the notification bombing from sideblog (for Pis3update members)

Buyable Object not default replacement

Enhanced version of EA's Chinese Dragon Lamp from "Year of the Dragon Set" 2012 Chinese New Year set from Sims 3 Store.

This is standalone object, Base Game compatible, no Expansion Pack needed, not default replacement.

Adding more specular so the statue appears more shinier.

8 presets: 6 non-recolourable & 2 recolourable (3 channels).

Same mesh as EA's. Vertices= 598, Poly= 658

Price: § 88

I recoloured the EA's default statue (red), because the most common colour for Lóng （ Chinese dragon） is gold. Gold is the most common colour for Chinese Dragon sculptures, second is green. Whoever designer worked in EA Maxis San Francisco when creating this object clearly didn't consult to Chinese people first or never seen Chinese dragon sculptures in their lifetime.

TS3 - Red To Gold Colour Mod for TS3 World Adventures EP’s “FountainAsia2x2″

I don’t work for Maxis The Sims 3 Studio in San Francisco, I don’t work for EA Shanghai, I’m just correcting Maxis The Sims 3 Studio employee’s job due to incorrectly and horribly wrong of Chinese dragon colour portrayal in Shang Simla’s World Adventures Expansion Pack.

Do not just slap red colour to every Chinese object just because you think red is considered as lucky colour in Chinese culture. Especially this is statue and fountain to spurt water. To designers, please recall University subject of colour theory, culture, and art history.

Chinese dragon is traditionally coloured GOLD. Not red. It’s obvious the employee who colored the Shang Simla’s dragon fountain must be taking stereotype from Mushu, comedic tiny red “dragon” from animated movie Disney’s Mulan (1998), didn’t consult to Chinese person at all.

Chinese dragons are gods who control rain, weather, and seasons.

Chinese dragons are kind, benevolent, powerful, who bring luck and prosperous. In Chinese New Year, there is Dragon Dance (the dragon has gold colour) as symbol for good luck.

Changes:

Overlay --> Change colour to Gold

Specular --> More shinier to resemble gold dragon statue in real life

Buyable object has automatic gold colour default replacement from catalogue.

Known issues:

There are old thumbnails unchanged on CAS mode, please ignore it. The Dragon color is still gold.

Dragon fountain in Shang Simla doesn’t automatically change to gold colour due to different coding in-game (it has different fountain stone colour too). ❗ You need to install Nraas’ Debug Enabler (Core mod by Twallan) in order to work correctly ❗

Follow these steps to reset the textures:

Click on the fountain > Nraas > Debug Enabler > Options: The Water Breathing Dragon > Objects... > Reset Textures > (Choose one) All Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Environment.FountainAsia2x2 or This Object

TS3 - Chopsticks Porcelain Storage

Buyable Object not default replacement.

Because “sculpture_AsianDinnerSet” from Shang Simla, TS3 World Adventures, is very badly made, bad mesh, too big until its “chopsticks” looks similar to Chinese incense for praying to our deity and ancestors, which is inappropriate to put on dining table, moreover, too tacky.

Therefore, I made the proper version of storage for eating utensils on dining table with proper mesh of chopsticks and one stack of ordinary bowls and spoon for soup.

2 presets:

Porcelain with classic white and blue traditional Chinese colour. 1 Recolourable channel >> The chopsticks.

3 Recolourable channels >>The inner, outer storage and chopsticks.

Price: §30 Poly Count: 2331 vertices, 2860 faces

TS3 - Dragon Cave Colour Mod “Gold & Colourful” TS3 World Adventures

D E F A U L T R E P L A C E M E N T

The 3D model default replacement was failed, so the simple recolour is the only thing that I can offer this week.

These colours are my interpretation of Chinese Dragons. Chinese Dragons, as I described before, are gods who control rain, weather, and seasons; kind, benevolent, powerful, who bring luck and prosperity.

Chinese Dragon is more likely in the same level as Poseidon rather than Western Dragon. Cannot be compared to evil reptile beast like Western Dragon, which interpreted as dark, scary monster breathing fire.

EA’s Maxis The Sims 3 Team gave colour to Chinese Dragon that is actually more fit to Western Dragon, because the team didn’t consult to Chinese person at all.

Chinese Dragons are traditionally coloured gold and mixed colours. Gold dragon is symbol of wealth, power, and prosperity. The green jade colour is based on compilation of images of Chinese Dragons I saw since I was a child. Green scales skin, orange hair, yellow whiskers & brows, pale deer antlers. I’ve often seen Chinese dragon statue in jade colour, because jade green in Chinese culture symbolizes renewal, longevity, and immortality.

Known issues: There are traces of miscolour due to horrible EA’s Uvmap overlapping each other maps & exploded to outer uvmap area. Don’t ask me, but ask to EA Maxis’ employee why.

World Food Day 2020

(Do not waste food, respect farmers and all food service providers.)

That is what my parents said to me since I was a young child. Farmers, chefs, food delivery service are all work hard providing us food to earn money for living, so we can eat to live. As long as we can eat, we have to be grateful. There are many unfortunate people out there who suffer from hunger and lack of nutrition due to poverty.

Food is very important aspect to keep us alive, as part of culture, and as part of lifestyle. In Asian culture, giving food for someone is indirect way to say “I care for you”, and cooking food for someone is indirect way to say “I love you” to the person. --------------------------------------------------------

My clothing conversion for Child (TS3)

MandarinSilk From WA EP Converted To Child - TopOnly & Outfit

The conversion is not 100% the same like the Adult one Because there were so many edits I made to make it fitting for Child age (due to drastic body difference between Adult and Child), it’s like making brand new clothes using EA’s mesh.

- Clothing mesh around crotch pants, chest, collar, and shirt on every morph I edited manually to make it fitting for Child’s body. - Bones around collar were assigned manually so the Child’s neck won’t protrude against collar (tested on fat Child) and collar texture won’t stretch oddly. - I reduced the shiny effect by altering the specular so the clothes won’t have shiny plastic feel. - For TopOnly: I made the bottom part of shirt bigger so when paired with EA’s base game & EP pants will not protrude each other against the shirt. - For TopOnly: I altered the UV mapping so the shirt texture won’t overlap with pants & shoes textures when paired together (tested). TopOnly is shirt only, worn by left model. Outfit is the fullbody outfit, worn by right model. Color presets for each clothing using EA’s original Adult Mandarin Silk color presets.

Compatibility & Categories: For male Child. This mesh is Base Game compatible, no need to have World Adventures EP installed. Categories: Everyday & Formal & Outerwear. Not valid for random. Channels: TopOnly = 3 Outfit = 4
