Indonesia merupakan negara Asia Tenggara terbesar yang kaya akan budaya, dengan beragam suku dan memiliki banyak pulau, sehingga budaya kulinernya sangat bervariasi, tidak terbatas hanya Nasi Goreng, Rendang, Sate saja. Karena banyaknya variasi makanan tersebar di Nusantara, CC dekorasi makanan ini tidak cukup untuk merepresentasikan keseluruhan makanan Indonesia yang tersebar di berbagai pulau. Selamat makan!

Indonesia is biggest Southeast Asian country that is rich of cultures, with many ethnicities and has a lot of islands, therefore has many variants of cuisine culture, not just only Nasi Goreng, Rendang, Sate. Because there are so many food variants across the archipelago, these decoration CC are not enough to represent all Indonesian cuisine that spread in many islands. Let's eat!

Nasi is rice in Bahasa Indonesia, which is staple food to be eaten together with lauk (dishes: consists of meat & vegetables). Indonesian food generally have Sambal option, therefore a lot of Indonesian food are served spicy.

I always get asks about what mods I use, and as I've been playing World Adventures recently for the Completionist LEPacy challenge, I've been trying to compile some mods specific to that expansion - I thought I'd share all the ones I've found here so anyone else who is new to WA can have some recommendations!

If this ends up being useful to anyone, I'm happy to make one of these mod pack lists for each EP - let me know if that's something you'd like!

Also, if anyone has any more suggestions on mods I should add to this list, please let me know and I'll include them!

Nraas Traveller

This mod overhauls the travel system and allows all types & ages of sims to travel, and also allows travel to any EA or custom world you have installed, not just the 3 standard vacation ones - so your sims could take a vacation in Sunlit Tides or Monte Vista if they want to!

PotatoBalladSims distant terrain fix for France & Qahne's Smaller Eiffel Tower

These mods are both just small aesthetic changes for France, the first one fixes blocky trees in the distance and the second one makes the Eiffel Tower a way more realistic size

TheBleedingWoodland's Shang Simla Icon Fix

This changes Shang Simla's icon to the Forbidden City which is actually located in China

Twinsimming's Take Practice Shots Mod

The photography skill can be so tedious to level up as you have to take photographs manually, this mod makes it much easier as you can leave your sims to idlly practice photography like they can do with any other skill

OutOfIdeas' More Unique Adventures Per Day

I was having a big problem where I would go to a country in search of a specific adventure to unlock a tomb & have to return home 8 days later, having nothing come up on the adventure board during my sims stay - this mod fixes that annoying problem as it allows for more adventures to appear each day, there are several flavours to choose from so it's totally customisable with how 'cheaty' you want to go!

NanaBx3's fishing box chest fix

There used to be a small chance that sims would reel in a treasure box when going fishing, but the feature got borked in one of the patches years ago and was never fixed - this mod makes it more likely you will come across this cool feature, it features additional items to be discovered in treasure boxes if WA is installed

LowMotivesWarning's Not-So-Weak Mummies

This ups the athletic ability of mummies & likelihood of your sim getting cursed to make them much more dangerous & threatening

StrexSims More Townies for Vacation Worlds

This is not technically a mod as it's a pack of sims, but it basically allows for more of the sims walking around town to fit in with the aesthetics of that neighbourhood - if you like this pack I strongly recommend checking out this creator's other townie packs, as they've released them for most EA worlds!

BLOODSUCKER UI

This would be a long-read, sorry for that!

I can consider myself one of the quickest creator of the most complete default UI for TS3 😅 But it would be impossible without help of @mookymilksims ❤ I used her BGM UI as a base, also for some reason regular method of creating DRs of loading screen doesn't work for me, so I used @justmiha97 Clean UI Loading Screen as a reference, what files Ii need to replace. And of course dino_rex with this thread on MTS. I also want to give a huge thanks for the testing and taking screenshots of the mod to @sagasimsworld and Mary_WW (she isn't on tumblr), because without them I couldn't find and fix most critical bugs in time. Also, even if most of the UI is replaced and it's fully playable, It's still need polishing and testing, so if you see any bug or some of the parts of UI that looks bad (e.g buttons that are near each other having different shades or smth like that), send me PM or ask with screenshots. Also this mod needs testing with different reshade presets, because I worry that some of them may enhance red colors of the UI and that may cause eyestrain. All screenshots are taken without reshade.

Recolored most of the CAS, CASt, CAP, CAB (plumbots editor), Live mode, Build & Buy mode and Town mode (except map tags):

Loading Screen is compatible with any language (but has only translated in english and russian in main file and ukrainian translation in separated package (AE_BloodsuckerUI_LoadingScreen_UA), that contains translated files only for english and russian version. For working ukrainian translation in english game you need font replacement (Montserrat).

Yeah, image that I used on loading screen is different from that one I showed you on this post (it's my desktop wallpaper now lol). It's because required image for ts3 loading screens is 1024x768, and when I resize original collage it became squished, so I added more images:

In main file of the UI are added this mods, so if you have them, you need to remove it from your game: @fanaskhe-r update of More slots for topical details mod, cmar_nyc's Skintone Panel, Recolored version of Menaceman's Pets Relationships Icons (other relationship headlines recolored as well!).

I created my own replacement for occults in relationship panel, so @sweetdevil-sims icons or removing of halos isn't needed anymore.

For opportunities tab I used recolored correct Shang Simla Forbidden city icon by @thebleedingwoodland, and I definitely recommend installing the whole mod, just delete with S3PE opp_generic_china image so they wouldn't conflict.

Icons are from Freepik. You are allowed to use them for creating "Minimalistic occult relationship panel" with vanilla UI or other UI default.

Also I created compatible and recolored versions for some popular mods, that replaces parts of UI, you can download them in ADDONS archive:

So, I'm now curious...

There's a bit of a discussion going on about Sims players and their sex/orientation, particularly on TheBleedingWoodland's blog, who has now, apparently, blocked me from replying or perhaps from his blog as a whole, but whatever. I'm still curious.

In my experience -- which is mostly participating here on Tumblr and before that on the Modthesims forums for the past...16?....years or so -- Sims fandom seems to me to skew female and fairly strongly queer in some way, and, of the players in the fandom who are male and who've talked about their orientation at all, they seem to also tend to be queer in some way. There also seems to be a good number of enbies, or at least people who, according to their profile blurbs, use or are OK with they/them pronouns. But perhaps I am experiencing some sort of ongoing sample bias. So, I thought I'd do a poll and see what shakes out. (Which, of course, doesn't necessarily escape inherent bias at all, but it's the best I can do. 😊) Maybe the results will be educational for some folks, but mostly I'm just curious. So here we go:

Note that for the purposes of this poll, I've lumped orientations together and that "gender" refers to your identity, not what your physical plumbing is. So for instance, if you're a trans man who's generally attracted to women as romantic/sexual partners, such that you'd label yourself "straight" in that regard, you go in the "heterosexual man" category. If you're a straight-ass cis guy, you, too, go in the "heterosexual man" category. If you're a pansexual cis woman like me, you go in the "non-heterosexual woman" category. If you're an ace trans woman, you go in the "non-heterosexual woman" category, too. And for this poll, it doesn't matter what your orientation is if you're non-binary, so y'all only get the one option. It's not that your orientation doesn't matter. It's just that for the purposes of this poll, it's not something that's being measured, but I am curious as to the percentage of Sims players who are non-binary. And, of course, if you're not sure about any of this stuff and/or you don't feel you fit in any of the listed categories, you go in the "Unsure/Other" category.

Clear enough, I hope? I'm hoping that by condensing categories this way we can get results that aren't all over the place, with perhaps some meaningful percentages.

For those who have sims blogs (or even if your blog isn't sims-dedicated), please feel free to reblog this, so that as many Sims players as possible, hopefully across the entire franchise, see this and have the opportunity to participate.

I'm like 100+ hours into BG3 so far, and still only on Act 2, LOL. I'm sad; my break's over so I'm back in school now--but I still have so much gaming left to do~! 😭😩

I'm doing a Neutral Good playthrough first, just to get my bearings. But my next run will be as the Chaotic Evil Dark Urge, just effing stuff up & killing EVERYONE I don't like, eff diplomacy! 😈

GENERAL RECS: - nraas MasterController is needed to put multiple accessories in the same location and to add more face/body sliders to your game but it has a shitton of other useful features too. - OneEuroMutt various facial and body sliders, i have the alien/ body/ amputee sliders but the rest might also be of interest. This tag is all about looking at your past. All you need to do is to find one of the first screenshots you ever took (preferably also published), and post it beside the recent one! And tell everybody when you took that first picture! Oh, and don’t forget to tag your posts! #sweet beginnings tag.

It was interesting to scroll through the history to my very first post. It's like rewinding history. Exciting. The first post was from 09/05/2020 - Bed “Peace”.

I just started converting and I really wanted this “Vampires” set from Sims 4 for my game. The first set was without repainting and changed for my interests in the game. Subsequent conversions I repainted and if I changed something in the model, it was only for the sake of making it functional. For example, wardrobes and chests of drawers. In The Sims 4 they do not open and are hollow inside, visible through, since the model is made only from the outside and there are absolutely no doors or drawers there. Then I created drawers, doors and the inside of the cabinet from scratch so that it could be used in the Sims 3 game. I'm definitely going to re-convert the Vampires set from The Sims 4. So look out for that in its entirety soon.

Bangunan tradisional Bali ini dibuat karena bertepatan dengan bulan ini dimana di tanggal 22 Maret 2023 adalah Hari Raya Nyepi, yaitu hari pergantian Tahun Saka yang dirayakan umat Hindu setiap satu tahun sekali. 🙏

Selain itu juga untuk melambangkan ucapan terima kasih karena saya bertemu dengan banyak teman di kalangan Sims community yang berasal dari Indonesia.

These three traditional Balinese architecture were made because the time was coincide with Nyepi, which is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that is commemorated every Isakawarsa (Saka new year) according to the Balinese calendar (in 2023, it falls on March 22). Pura is a Balinese Hindu temple and the place of worship for adherents of Balinese Hinduism in Indonesia.

Gapura Candi Bentar (Left Side & Right Side) is a gate consists of two temple buildings that have identical shapes and are placed parallel as the main gate to enter the courtyard area of the house or the outermost gate. My thoughts on Shang Simla

Thanks @thebleedingwoodland for tagging me in their posts here and here. Unfortunately I don't have much time atm, probably can't contribute much to the discussion. I'll try my best to explain my thoughts in the easiest and quickest way.

First, I never held much expectation for EA. Shang Simla is more like a friendly gesture to include Asian/Oriental cultures into Sims3 world. However, I never regard Shang Simla as a Chinese world, let alone any specific period. The minute I saw the torii ⛩️ とりい icon, as a Taiwanese visiting Japan many times, I knew Shang Simla would be a hybrid of most ancient (North East) Asian cultures even before sending my sims there. However, I don't think people back in 2009 had such high awareness or recognition for other cultures as we do today. They simply projected their impressions for the eastern world onto Shang Simla. So I would rather take this as a chance to introduce the right knowledge to simmers from other parts of the world.

What EA tried to present in Shang Simla is an ancient world, so honestly I don't blame them to provide the braid hairstyle from Qing dynasty. Yes, it is a symbol of repression, but it is also a historical fact. That's what people during that period of time would look like.

As for the outfit, honestly I think it's too much to ask, considering its 4000 year-long history and all the complicated details.

Yep, and that just covers the most basic types, there are numerous variations based on the occasion/age/social status/occupation...etc.

If you're wondering where those fancy outfits you saw on TV drama or games are, I would say they belong to the fantasy genre, like:

If you want to create a sims3 story with solid historical background, not fantasy or fictional, DON'T use these sources as your reference. Try googling artworks from that period, or related historical drama, those authentic ones.

Also, it's really important to notice the difference between Hanfu 漢服, Wafuku わふく and Hanbok한복. I'm no expert at these fields so I would only provide here the most basic types to give you a rough idea:

As for the martial arts outfit, the difference lies more on the sport events than nationality since there are corresponding uniforms now. For instance:

top to bottom: Judo柔道 / Karate空手道 / Taekwondo 태권도 / Tai Chi 太極 / Kung fu 功夫裝

Of course, the sleeve-less kungfu clothes EA provided is a big no-no, a modernized version apparently.

Last but not least, during the ancient period, Chinese culture had great influence over the neighboring countries including Korea and Japan. That's why you may find it very difficult to tell which from which sometimes. Hope the illustrations above can help.

To be honest, I rarely let my sims visit Shang Simla. It's a weird world to me. Too much nonsense I'm afraid. Most of the time, I tend to build my own version, with specific period and custom content to make it more authentic and realistic.

Oh and DRAGON! Almost forgot. I think this is simply because THERE ARE TWO KINDS of DRAGON. One spits fire while the other controls the rain, basically two different species I believe :D

*Correction- Shang Simla is supposed to be a modern Chinese world, not an ancient one as I previously thought. I don't think of it as a modern world probably because, as we all know, modern life for Chinese people are not that different from the western one. In fact, Shang Simla should look much more westernized/modernized to reflect reality, even for a rural area. Besides, in the modern times only farmers wear bamboo hats. I can tell which hanfu style implies which period easily but I just can't really identify what period Shang Simla should belong to. To me, it's just a modern world with some randomly chosen Chinese / Asian / oriental elements.

Sorry for making this a post @thebleedingwoodland, but this was just too long for comments.

So, as part of a conversation about this post regarding the problematic nature of, specifically, Shang Simla, there was this reply:

See, that's the thing! As a USian, I wouldn't be at all insulted by a "Simerica" world being represented by an Eiffel Tower icon. I would go "WTF?" and then think it hilarious and just play the world. But that isn't the same as a supposedly Chinese world being represented by a torii icon, because Japan and China are historical enemies, whereas the US and France have been allies since before the US was a country and before France was a republic. A closer equivalent in insult, I think, would be a "Simerica" world represented by a hammer and sickle or something recognizably Russian, like a silhouette of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow or something like that. That might anger some USians because the US and Russia are historical enemies. (I, personally, would think it weird but still wouldn't be insulted, but I might be in the minority there.)

The others…I certainly wouldn't be insulted by a burger and spaghetti served on the same plate. In fact, as I type this, I'm eating tamales (a traditional Mexican food that my Mexican mother-in-law made for me) and a bowl of Chinese-style fried rice for dinner, and later I'm going to have a slice of fresh-baked apple pie and some ice cream for dessert. I'm pretty sure I've seen a combo meal of burgers and spaghetti on the menu in a few US diners. I'm not sure how Italians would feel about that, but I don't think any American would give it a second thought. Give me all the stereotypical cowboy gun duels, please (because in a fictional setting they're cool, and I live in what was the "Old West"), and, indeed, a significant portion of US citizens are overweight/obese (though I have the opposite problem, due to a chronic condition), so portraying them that way would just be accurate. Make them all have a "rude" or "loud" trait, and we're in business. (And I'd be LMAO.)

I think the overall issue here is that American corporations cater to Americans, and the US in general sucks at cultural sensitivity. Mix that with American exceptionalism and you have a recipe for disaster. I could be wrong, but I think this is partly because the US is populated mostly by immigrants combined with the fact that US culture varies greatly from region to region, precisely because US citizens have all sorts of backgrounds on top of the usual differences between urban and rural people. As such, there is no unifying American culture, nor is there any major aspect of it that is particularly unique to here and that would be considered insulting if not portrayed properly. Instead, it's a "culture" stitched together from pieces of many others. I'm going to guess that this is why many Americans don't fully grasp why culture is so important to people in other countries or even among certain marginalized groups here in the US. In turn, I would imagine that people from other countries/cultures, particularly countries that are fairly monocultural for whatever reason, often don't understand how Americans are or can be OK with the cultural "melting pot" that America is ideally supposed to be.

In the end, I think the goal with the WA worlds was not accuracy -- which would, indeed, require research -- but rather simply creating an easily recognizable backdrop for the quests. Unfortunately, that only requires, in Shang Simla's case, including anything that "looks Chinese," and that was as far as EA's "thinking" went. So you have the Great Wall and Japanese torii and, of all things, completely American "Chinese" things like fortune cookies and egg rolls. I'm not saying that this is a good thing. It isn't. At all. I think it's terrible (though unfortunately not surprising) that the average USian can't tell the difference between things that are Chinese and things that are Japanese. Worse, it's terrible that many also don't understand why mashing together things from those cultures is insulting to both of them. I'm just saying that that's what it is. EA should have done better, but they didn't. USians in general should do better, just as people in other countries should do better than believe that people not from their own country/culture are all one way or another. But, this is the world we live in, at least for now.
