This is basically an issue with any historical time period before colored pictures. Greek and Roman clothing wasn't all white, those statues and reliefs were all painted.

Even 'cave men' wore brightly colored pigments on their bodies. In fact, part of how we can identify ceremonial burial developing is that colorful pigments were placed over the dead.

Humans love color. They love bright color. It's universal.

One of the things that's been annoying more and more is modern media depictions of vikings where they basically dress in bland colored furs and leather and they look and act like Klingons.

Wish more movies and TV shows would have the gumption to use accurate costumes.

Also throughout all periods of history people wore colors!!! Even the puritans wore colors and only wore black on Sunday.

A tiny hidden gem I found in thesims3. This small (512*512) oriental world is called Edo Island and its vibes are amazing. IMO it's almost asking for some mystery story that takes place in small japanese village. Perhaps I'll arrange one when my 'Survive without grown-ups' challenge is over.

There are 11 furnitured houses and plenty of commercial lots. Most of commersial lots are rebuilt into functional open buildings. Also there is a lot with old ship - I think it would be good idea to place functional rugs for missing lots there.

All vehicles are disabled here, so I recommend Mountain Bike mod to ride its streets.

CAS CC

Ironically, the 2 Hair Buns were the hardest for me (cuz CAS CC drives me nuts), as I had to make my own meshes--bleh.

The plainer Buddhist ACC was easier, but it literally took me 2 years to get the more ornate ACC to a point that I could release it for upload, cuz for the longest it was bad. (It's still not great, but better.)

The Hair I already talked about here. The Vermilion Sheer ACC I've used a billion times in my gameplay pics. I separated it from the Phoenix outfit by @amethyst-sims so it could be used with any outfit, Everyday-Outerwear, with fit-fat morphs. Found under Necklaces.

We don't really see LWJ carry his Guqin Back Bag ACC in the live action, but it features a lot more in the donghua, which is directly what my ACC's mesh /& textures are based on. It is found under Garters, so just scroll down past the Socks section and you'll see it.

BUY MODE CC

The 4 Guqins are all 10k polys, but I have tons of them on my lots so they should be fine.

I've shown y'all the animated Music Notes Lights a few times. I just took the mesh from this ACC by Luluke at TSR and retextured it.

They're found under Table Lights (and I think Outdoor Lights IIRC).

The Wall Scrolls are self explanatory.

They have the same variations, either taken from or inspired by the paintings Wei Wuxian drew of Lan Wangji and their pets from the different adaptations.

I made the Bamboo Sheets Stand mesh myself (*le gasp!*).

I got the texture variations on from Noir & Moi's Yuxi conversions. They're not "music notes," but PRETEND, omg.

From the other side...writing is intensely isolated. It's a thing that happens entirely within yourself. You live with a novel for so long when you write it, edit it, edit it again, etc. etc.

No matter how many people read it and give you good feedback, there's always a part of you that wonders: 'Is this coherent?' 'Do I even know how to write?' 'Is this too obvious?' 'Is this too obscure?' 'Are my characters even likeable?'

Your friends are your friends, and you're paying everyone else who works on it. There's no direct advantage to someone saying it's terrible. So until you get your first review from an honest to god reader out there in the sea of everybody it can be stressful. What if all the people clicking or buying or whatever metric you have aren't even finishing it because it is so bad.

When you get those positive responses from readers it feels like a fucking lifeline. Every. Single. Time.

Please keep throwing them to the creators and artists that you enjoy. We need them.

My favorite thing as someone who primarily reads fanfiction more so than writes it is when an author responds to your comment
