greetings! can you make a fluff gojo satoru story wherein on a random rest day, while smiling fondly at a busy satoru, admiring how amazing he is—being the strongest and all—you felt a pang in your heart as you thought of the big responsibility and burden he carries along with it. thinking how he never asked to be born with these heavy responsibilities wherein single mistake could cost a lot of lives. despite displaying his playful demeanor most of the time, you acknowledge and embrace his vulnerability and struggles. you praised, admire, praise, sympathized and praise him again. just gojo being reminded the reason why he loved you.
just a small plot i thought of inspired by the quote "it's his first time living too" while listening to mr. loverman, hehe. may i request kisses too. *heart hands* thank you!
I love when I get requests like this bc I love to write Gojo in this kind of situation 🥺
In fact I wrote a one shot, not long ago, similar to the request but only posted on ao3, you can check it here. But anyways, I wrote another one shot with your request, I hope you like it and enjoy it.
Let me be the strong one | Gojo Satoru

Words: 1,3K
Summary: The higher-ups had sent him on several missions in a row, without letting him rest, without letting him teach, they had simply thrown him into the field and let him fight on his own. Now for the first time in three weeks you saw him rest.

Your heart burned every time you saw him enter the door, sometimes almost falling to his knees due to the accumulated fatigue that his brain and body carried on top of him.
Gojo Satoru was the strongest, considered by many a God, someone superior. After all he was the one who had brought balance to the world with the simple birth of him. The one born with the six eyes and the infinity.
Sometimes you wish you could take it away from him, to be able to take away infinity and the six eyes, that he could live without that burden on his shoulders, without that duty that he never asked for. That he didn't have to hide his gaze behind a dark bandage. You wanted to take it away and just have it be Satoru. That he could rest and enjoy the things he liked.
You sat in the armchair that was on one side and watched how his chest rose and fell calmly and how his face was illuminated by the rays of the sun that filtered through your window, making his hair and white eyelashes stand out even more.
You loved that man so much, you were crazy in love with him and you have been ever since your high school years. You were not a special grader, you weren’t even that strong, so when your feelings for him started to surface when you were both 16, you felt scared. He was on another level, one you would never reach. At least that was the facade that Satoru showed to everyone, but as time and years passed with him, only you and him shared those sleepless nights where Satoru would knock on your door and wait for you to make room for him in your bed, to simply being hugged to each other and feeling your warmth intertwine with each other. Those moments had only caused you to fall more in love with him.
Luckily those feelings were reciprocated when you were 20 and now 8 years later they had not stopped growing.
“I can feel you observing me.” Satoru spoke with his eyes still closed.
“You should keep resting.” You whispered.
He sat on the couch and stretched himself up. “It’s okay, I had enough rest already.”
“‘Toru…” You said, feeling your heart ache.
“Honey, I’m really okay, don’t worry.” He smiled at you.
“You don’t have to be strong in front of me, you know?” You moved next to him. “Let me be the strong one for you. Let me take your pain too.” You whispered.
“You don’t have to take anything from me because there is…”
“I know you ‘Toru, and because I know you, I know you are not okay.” You cupped his face. So please let me take care of you, let me be your shield, even if it’s just for a moment.” He smiled sadly and then rested his head on your chest.
“I’m tired…” He whispered. “So tired. I love to fight and to face challenges but it’s tiring. Sometimes… I would like not to have this responsibility on me. From the moment I was born, I was already assigned a role, before I even cried for the first time, I was already the strongest, without asking for it.” You ran your fingers through his hair, trying to let him know that you were with him. “I never felt like I had a childhood, so when I entered the school and met you, Suguru and Shoko, I felt like being the strongest wasn't the important thing and that I could be me when I was around you.”
“‘Toru…” You whispered with a sad look.
“But then everything went down…” He said. “I couldn’t save everyone, I couldn’t prevent their deaths, I couldn’t…”
“Satoru, that’s not true…” You cupped his face making him look at you, his blue eyes were filled with tears. “You protected so many people and saved so many too.” With your thumb you caressed his face. “'Toru, you really are amazing, you are strong, yes, but above all that, you are a good person, full of love, who loves his students and wants the best for them.” You smiled. “But you are also human, and you need to rest and be taken care of. So please let me take care of you my love.”
Satoru didn’t say anything else, instead he laid his head on your legs and let you take care of him as you had asked him. A couple of minutes passed when you noticed how his breathing was calmer and how his eyes were completely closed and his mouth slightly open. He had fallen asleep. After carefully placing Satoru on the couch and tucking him in with a cozy blanket, you made your way to the kitchen with a purpose in mind: to prepare something special for him. Cooking had always been therapeutic for you, and in that moment, you felt it was the perfect way to show your concern and affection for him.
When the sweet aroma of the freshly baked cake filled the kitchen, you felt a wave of satisfaction and anticipation. You knew the gesture would be a pleasant surprise for Satoru, and you hoped it would bring him some joy.
Suddenly, as you focused on the oven, you felt two arms wrapping around you from behind. A warm smile spread across your face, knowing that Satoru was there with you, sharing the moment.
“You left…” He whispered.
“I wanted to make a cake for you.” You turned around to see him. “How are you feeling?” You touched his face.
“I am better.” He closed his eyes as you touched him. “You know I love you so much, right?”
“I know.” You smiled tilting your head. “And I love you too.” You kissed him.
“Thank you my love.” He kissed you back. “For understanding me the way you do and for loving me as Satoru not as Gojo Satoru, the strongest.” He smiled.
“For me, you are just my dear ‘Toru, my silly boyfriend who wants to act cool in front of his dear students, the one who loves to eat sweets and go to different places in Tokyo so he can eat all of the sweets in the world and likes to take pictures of those sweets, so then he can fill my phone with those pictures. My ‘Toru, who despite everything, always takes the responsibility, even if it’s too heavy for him, who will blame himself for things he can’t control, the one who wants to change this shitty society so the future generations can have the childhood he never had.” You smiled, getting emotional. “That’s the man I love, who loves me passionately and has never let me down.”
“Every day I am grateful for having met you and having fallen in love and continue to fall in love with you.” He hugged you, hiding his face in your neck. “Don't ever leave, please…” He whispered against your skin, before leaving a delicate kiss.
“Never…” You caress her back gently. “Oh!” You gasped when you started to smell it. “‘Toru the cake!” You stepped away from him and turned off the oven. Carefully removing it from the oven, you placed it on the counter. “It burned…” You whispered, looking at the burnt cake.
You felt Satoru approach you and place a kiss on his cheek. “Let's do another one, this time both of us together.” He smiled at you.
You nodded and kissed him, and it was at times like that where you wish you could take all of Satoru's problems, burdens and responsibilities off his shoulders, and throw them away, where they could never reach him.

How they embarrass themselves in front of MC (Headcanons)
Characters: Jin Namba, Hideki Ishigami, Hyogo Kaga, Shusuke Soma, Takaomi Tsugaru, Seiji Goto, Ayumu Shinonome, Toru Kurosawa, Yukihisa Maki, Shunichiro Tachibana, Jun Araki, Toshiaki Kijima, Toma Kiriya, Natsume Asaoka, Ukyo Senkawa, Daimon Togo, Kunihiro Kasai, Kuranosuke Kiba, Eiji Takao, Shu Hasunuma, Toshiki Kasumi, Munechika Takado, Taro Akuchi, Suzumu Mado
Jin Namba
Jin spent too much time on social media to be trendy. He saw that trend of getting photos of how the stars looked in a region during a specific day. So, Jin decided to get MC one of these with their anniversary. When the delivery arrived, MC was home, and Jin gave it immediately. It turned out the anniversary was wrong. And it was he who sent the wrong date.
Hideki Ishigami
During a warm weekend, Ishigami and MC decided to go to the beach. So, both of them got into the water. However, a big wave and one jellyfish made Ishigami lose his balance. The man tried his best to swim. After half a minute that felt like years, MC finally told her boyfriend that the water was shallow enough for him to stay on his four and not die.
Hyogo Kaga
Hyogo let his daughter paint his nails. Of course, Baby Kaga didn't care where his nails end. He forgot that the nail polish remover finished the last time she did this. So, Captain Kaga had to go to an important meeting early in the morning with colorful and messy painted fingers.
Shusuke Soma
Jokingly, Soma handcuffed himself and MC together against the bed. After he locked them, he remembered he had left the keys in his blazer in another room. MC offered to move the bed with them because it was made out of expensive wood. So they did it until they were met by the door. And Shusuke understood why the bed had to be put in his room disassembled when he saw there was no way to get out with it. Soma was nearly crying while trying to break the piece they were handcuffed to. The bed remained like that for years.
Takaomi Tsugaru
Tsugaru loves MC, and he loves MC strong enough to give up on his habit of eating strange food combinations. For MC's birthday, he wanted to get her a cake from a fancy expensive confectioner. It turned out MC had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients, and they had to go to the ER.
Seiji Goto
Goto once jokingly asked MC if Japan turned into The Netherlands. MC asked why because it wasn't like Goto to make such jokes. So, Goto sent her a photo of a field with tulips. It was Ishigami who told him that it was a field of poppies.
Ayumu Shinonome
The Hair Guru a.k.a. Ayumu Shinonome convinced MC that he could cut her hair. She accepted to let him cut her bangs, and he asked her about the length. They agreed on it, and instead of cutting the hair under his fingers, he cut it from above, making it too short. MC cried for two days and didn't talk to him at all. He had to apologize more than ten times for her to stop being mad at him.
Toru Kurosawa
After Toru and MC started to live together, Shoma became a usual guest in their house. It was so natural for him to visit his sister that Toru even gave him a pair of keys. However, Shoma was polite enough to announce his presence beforehand. Once, Toru completely forgot about this and decided to shower before MC returned home. When he heard the keys, he let go of his towel and sat on the couch completely naked and with a potted plant instead of a rose near him. Half a minute later, MC came back and saw her brother silently staring at her shocked naked boyfriend.
Yukihisa Maki
Yuki told MC to take care of herself and not slip on the icy road. He was like: "I hope your soles are adherent enough," "Look where you're walking," "Don't run," and "Take your hands out of your pocket." So, Yukihisa took MC's hand to help her steady her. The next second, he fell on his butt on took MC after him.
Shunichiro Tachibana
After Shunichiro publicly confirmed his relationship with MC, journalists took photos of the two. Once, he overworked himself so hard that after a few weeks, he saw a photo of him and a woman together and tried to remember and understand what had happened and who was the woman. After days of torture, he finally came clean to MC, acknowledging that he had no idea what had happened, but he was sure that nothing was between him and someone else. MC told him it was her in the photo, wearing a new coat.
Jun Araki
Mr. Araki met one of his clients, who grew up with him in the orphanage, in the market while buying pads for MC. When his childhood friend asked him about his relationship status and was ready to congratulate him, Jun panicked and said they were for his sister. Both met and stood awkwardly silent, face to face for ten minutes.
Toshiaki Kijima
MC asked her husband about a man with the same surname as him who sent her a friend request. Toshiaki was trying to fall asleep, so he said that he had no idea, probably just a coincidence. Later, MC found out it was one of his cousins they met the next time they went to Shimane.
Toma Kiriya
Toma was working while MC was in the bathroom. And it's a universal knowledge that people reach their peak of sexiness when they get out of the shower. So, how could he resist his eye-catching fiancee? Toma put away his laptop and went to her, starting a make-out session that continued with him taking MC to the sofa. The man planted his butt on the laptop, and it was only half of the problem. Sharp pieces of plastic and glass got stuck, and he had to go to the hospital to get stitches.
Natsume Asaoka
Natsume got drunk at a party and told everyone he wanted to sing a song for his wife. He got every single note wrong. Videos of him still running errands in between Addison & Rhodes employees.
Ukyo Senkawa
MC overworked herself for weeks. Ukyo did it too, but he tried his best to take care of his wife. So, he wanted to make her happy and help her relax. And what could be better than a tasty dinner with tea? MC tasted it and said nothing, then Ukyo did the same and understood that he had put salt instead of sugar in the tea.
Daimon Togo
When Daimon and MC had their first projects after getting together, Kunihiro filled a drawer in his desk with condoms. Unfortunately, it wasn't MC who needed anything from Togo first thing in the morning. When he saw the condoms, Daimon wanted to close the shelf at fast as possible but accidentally forced it, and all its contents fell on the floor when MC approached him.
Kunihiro Kasai
Someone asked Mr. Kasai during a meeting about something that he failed to hear three times. He finally confirmed the question and moved on. It turned out they asked if MC took sick days due to being pregnant. He had a lot of explanations to do after HR called them to congratulate him and his colleagues prepared a baby shower.
Kuranosuke Kiba
Kuranosuke told MC that he would protect her during storms, that there was no way something like this would scare him, and he was as cool as a cucumber. It thundered, and he jerked so hard that he dropped the tray with their entire dinner, destroying everything edible.
Eiji Takao
No wonder he is childhood friends with Kunihiro because both get in trouble due to mishearing things. In his case, he didn't say "yes", he said "no". What happened, and what were the questions? He and MC were at an event where he met one of his first clients. The enthusiastic client asked Takao if MC, who sat as close to him as possible, was the wife he had heard about. Due to the noise in the background, Eiji didn't hear the question and just said "no". Two pairs of bewildered eyes looked at him.
Shu Hasunuma
Before taking some days off, Shu told everyone at work not to contact him because he would have things to do and wouldn't be available most of the time. The day he returned, he accidentally opened his steps counting app during work. Kuranosuke, who couldn't reach him during his mini-vacation, saw that during his entire mini-vacation, Shu made around 20 and 35 steps a day. Shu had to give his wife a few explanations after Kuranosuke started to call her every time he needed Mr. Hasunuma on his days off.
Toshiki Kasumi
We all know how smart is Dr. Kasumi and that he has visited many countries. No wonder this man is multilingual. So, Kasumi took MC on holiday to one of the countries he had visited more than ten years ago. He convinced MC that they wouldn't need translators. During their first dinner, Kasumi understood that he had forgotten a big part of the language spoken in the country but was too stubborn to change to English. When they finally got their command, both Kasumi and MC looked at the plates in front of them, understanding that none of them were what they wanted.
Munechika Takado
While walking, Takado told MC to be more aware of her surroundings because she nearly tripped on the stairs in front of him earlier that day. They decided to go to buy some things. And when he finished his sentence about how important was for doctors to be able to take care of their health, he planted himself on the glass wall of the market and broke his nose.
Taro Akuchi
Taro asked MC to wear something of a specific color for their date. He bought flowers to impress her. Being the socially awkward person he was, Taro gave them to MC the second he saw him. He understood that he mistook the girl when she thanked him and he didn't recognize the voice. The man wanted to take the flowers back, but MC, who was a few meters away, got in time to stop him.
Suzumu Mado
Suzumu invited MC on a date and went in there with the idea of paying for both of them. So, he let her get what she wanted even if it was expensive. When they finally had to pay, he understood that he had forgotten his wallet at home. He tried to convince MC that it wasn't his intention. MC didn't believe him.

Heartstrings (P6 FINAL) P1 P2 P3 P4 P5
Every morning, without fail, Satoru would bring you to work, always insisting that he was just helping a friend out. From the first day he brought you there, his bright smile was a constant source of cheer. You could remember the first day he offered to fetch you to work.
"Toru? What are you doing here? Sorry, I don't have enough time to bake pastries for you now, I'm kind of late for work..." you apologized, feeling flustered.
"No, no, it's fine. That's not why I'm here anyway. I'm offering to drive you to work since I won't be teaching until noon," Satoru replied cheerfully.
"You're too kind, Toru... Are you sure I'm not a disturbance? W-what if Yaga's subordinate complains about this?" you asked, fiddling with your feet, clearly shy at his kind gesture.
Satoru laughed, "I'm not worried about that, they can't function without me so you don't need to worry. I can take care of myself. I'm not the same fool from high school, okay?" His lightheartedness made you laugh as he helped you with the utensils you were bringing to work.
"Really Toru?"
You exchanged a few light-hearted jabs and jokes as he drove you to work. Satoru always had a witty comeback ready, making you laugh. "Did you dream about meeting Prince Charming in the kitchen, huh?" he'd tease, making the drive feel light and easy.
"No way! I wouldn't want to date someone who's in the same field as me," you replied softly, feeling a brush creeping up your cheeks.
"Whoever he’ll be, he'll be lucky to date you," he said, giving one of the heart softening Toru smiles.
His driving was always smooth and steady, probably thanks to the Six Eyes. It seemed like he didn't even need to open his eyes to drive! But to ease the other drivers on the road, he would pretend to be a normal civilian, not to freak them out. The car rides became a time you cherished the most, always looking forward to them as your friendship with him tightened.
Whenever it was time to go back, you'd see his familiar car (sometimes it’s a different car because Toru’s bank is as big as his house) pull up, and there he'd be, ready to take you home. On days when you left early, you'd see his familiar car pull up, and there he was, without you even needing to text him. "Thought you might need me to pick you up," he'd say with a wink, lowering his window. How'd he know?!
At home, he was equally caring. "Here, I saw these on sale today. Thought you might need them for work," he said as he handed you a piece of kitchen equipment. These small but thoughtful gestures made you feel incredibly cared for. As a way to return the favor, you'd set aside a few of the desserts you made at the restaurant for him. The look on his face whenever you gave them to him would make your heart skip a beat.
"Toru!" you called out to him, about to leave the house at night to Suguru's place for some boy's talk.
"I made these just for you, you can share them with Sugu," you said, watching as he peeked inside the dessert box. His eyes lit up at the sight of another batch of your pastries.
His genuine happiness warmed your heart as he said, "You're the best, y/n! These are going to make my night! I might not share them but thank you~". Moments like these made you cherish how much you loved having him in your life, even as a friend.
Tumblr media
On a day when the both of you weren’t working, an idea struck you. You've been harboring feelings towards Satoru for far too long. Yes, you've only been single but the feelings you've had for him were from high school, as cringy as that may sound. Today is the day you're going to confess. What other better way than to tell him during a dinner you cooked?
"Toru," you said, blushing as you saw him scrolling idly through his phone in the living room in only his boxers.
"Yes, y/n?" he looked up from his phone and at you, realizing how bare he was, quickly covering himself with his hands.
"I need to go to the farmer's market," you said shyly, hiding your face as you added, "I want to get some stuff to bake for an important person."
Satoru was stunned. An important person? Who could that be? Your family members?
"Oh, okay, sure. I'll go put something on and we can go," he said, feeling a bit confused. Who was so important to you that you needed to bake for them?
"I want to get some fresh ingredients for a new recipe I've been thinking about. Plus, it's been a long time since I went to the market. I remember the noisy loud-talking aunties," you explained, trying to sound as casual as possible.
He chuckled. "Sounds like a plan. Fresh ingredients, huh? Who is this mystery person that you're baking for?"
You laughed nervously, waving off his question. "It's a surprise. You'll see soon enough."
As Satoru went to get dressed, you couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The market held the ingredients to making something truly special for Satoru, and you were determined to keep it a secret until the perfect moment. In the market, you couldn't lose sight of him because of how immensely tall he is.
"Toru? Please look for fresh salmon for me!" you clung onto his sleeve, beckoning for him to use his height to your advantage. The market was filled with people, bustling with energy. Satoru shook his head with a smile and started to spot things for you, his height making it easy to navigate through the crowd. As he scanned the crowd, Satoru couldn't help but think to himself how lucky the person you were cooking for must be. He sighed, his heart sinking slightly, and secretly wished it was him who you were putting in so much effort for.
Tumblr media
After returning from the market, feeling excited to cook for Satoru, you started to prepare the ingredients right away.
"Whoa, is this person coming to our place?" Satoru asked, still wondering who the mystery person was that had you baking for them.
"Yes, and this person really love sweets. Just like you, Toru~" you said, as you measured the butter and sugar according to your memory.
Satoru was still puzzled, trying to figure out who this mystery person could be. "Is it someone from work? A relative?" he thought, trying to piece it together.
As you worked, Satoru hovered around the kitchen, curiosity getting the better of him. "Can I at least help? Maybe I'll get a clue," he suggested, flashing you a playful grin.
"Sure, you can chop up the veges," you said, handing him the sifter. "But no peeking at my notes."
He took the sifter and started working, glancing at you from time to time, his curiosity clearly piqued. "You know, you're not really good at keeping secrets from me. I might find out who it is," he teased.
You laughed, feeling a warmth in your chest. The anticipation of revealing the surprise to Satoru made the whole process even more enjoyable. "Just wait, Toru. I promise it'll be worth it." you wondered to yourself.
Tumblr media
It was time for dinner in the Gojo household, meaning that both Satoru and you would meet up in the kitchen.
When Satoru walked into the kitchen, he was shocked to see a table full of his favorite dishes.
"Good evening, Sir Gojo. May you have a seat?" you greeted him with a playful, formal tone, like a butler in a high-class restaurant. For the surprise dinner date with Satoru, you wore a knee-length, A-line dress in deep maroon with subtle lace details, paired with a simple necklace and earrings. Your hair was styled in soft waves, complemented by natural makeup with a hint of blush and soft pink lipstick. He was still in shock but managed to say, "All this? Was for me?"
You nodded. "It's a dinner that I planned for you a long time ago. I haven't been able to do this yet because of our busy schedules," you said, sitting down directly opposite Satoru.
The two of you enjoyed the meal you cooked, sharing humorous stories from each of your workplaces. The atmosphere was light and filled with laughter.
"And for dessert..." you announced, bringing out a plate of kikufuku.
"Just like old times," Satoru said, making you blush.
You both savored the sweet treats, reminiscing about the moments you had spent together. Satoru looked at you with a warmth that made your heart flutter. "You really outdid yourself, y/n. This is incredible."
You smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment and happiness. "I'm glad you liked it, Toru. You deserve it."
Silence enveloped the kitchen as the two of you locked eyes, a silent understanding passing between you. The bond that had formed between you was unlike any other.
"Y/n," Satoru began, his voice soft yet filled with uncertainty.
You nodded, nervous of what he wanted to say. Was he going to confess? Was he going to make things easier for you?
He let out a heavy sigh, his words coming out in a rush, "I don't know if you feel the same way as I do, but..."
"I like you too, Satoru. More than a friend," you interrupted, your words filled with honesty and vulnerability.
"I... I never thought you'd actually like me," he began, his words stumbling over each other in his haste to express himself. "Since you came from a relationship where the man treated you like rubbish I figured you might lose faith in guys in general, and I..."
But before he could finish his sentence, you silenced him with a gentle press of your lips against his. It was a soft, tender kiss filled with all the emotions you couldn't put into words. In that moment, you conveyed everything you felt for him – the affection, the longing, and the hope for a future together. And as you pulled away, you saw the disbelief in his eyes give way to a warmth that mirrored your own.
"You thought wrong, Toru. Come on! You've known me for so long, I'm different aren't I?" you pouted and looked in his shining blue sapphire eyes.
"You sure are," he looked at you, his white eyebrows tilting up in curiosity after some time.
"Hold on, how is it possible? We came home, you cooked, and poof! It's dinner time? y/n, are you magic?"
"Shut up and kiss me, you talk too much Toru," you teased, pulling him closer, connecting your lips with his once again.

~~~
Tumblr media
Satoru knew it was his fault the first time he lost you. He had so many chances, so many opportunities to make you permanently his but not once did he take it.
Satoru remembered the day he met you. It was just a typical day for him. He didn't expect that day to be the day he met you. The day he met such a sweet angel.
That was another thing. Never did he expect to have fallen for someone like you.
Someone normal.
Because he, Satoru Gojo, the world's most powerful sorcerer (or at least he will be), fell in love with a normal schoolgirl.
Your father owned a cafe and on the evenings after school, you'd often visit him to assist him in anything he needed. But most of the time, you would take a table, the furthest one from everyone else, and begin doing your work.
You liked the surrounding of the cafe. There weren't too many people that it was hectic and packed, but there weren't too few people that it became sad for your father's business. It was just the perfect amount of customers.
You weren't really a people person but you do enjoy people watching. You found it quite interesting looking at the customers coming in and out of the shop.
And you certainly found them interesting.
On that one day, you were busy finishing up your homework.
Seated at the furthest table from everyone to avoid being a disturbance to the business, papers and books were sprawled out on the table, a cup of tea and a plate of Danish pastry accompanying you.
You heard the bell letting out a short ring, an indication that a new customer had arrived. Every time the bell sounded, your head would perk up from the pile of papers to see the figures arriving. That day, you saw two tall boys, probably around your age, coming in.
They wore top matching jackets, their pants the same color but of a different style. The boy with the messy white hair had slim tight pants while the boy with the dark hair had baggy style pants.
The white-haired boy wore a pair of sunglasses, covering your field of vision from seeing his eyes. The dark-haired boy had long hair, half of it tied up in a bun. His eyes were small, slightly overshadowed by his bangs.
Even from that view, you could tell they were both very handsome. They had lean, tall figures, slim and slender. Although, the white-haired boy was taller than the other one.
There was something rather intriguing about them. Like a magnetic force, causing you to almost get captured by their essence.
Going by your nature, you turned your head back to your work, trying to finish it as soon as you can. But going against your nature, you couldn't help but lose focus on your work, instead, you were hung up on the two figures.
"Let's get the cheesecake, some macarons- Oh! Strudels! Let's get peach, apple? Yeah, let's get the apple. Hmm, that chocolate roll looks good. We'll get that, too," the white-haired one excitedly pointed. "You?"
"I'll just take some of yours," he gently let out.
"Okay, then. Oh, strawberry shortcake! I love those. Let's get one," the boy giggled while clapping excitedly.
You could imagine the shocked look on your father's face when the man declined his desserts to be boxed as a to-go. The imagined sight of your father made you want to giggle. You had to suppress yourself from bursting into a fit of laughter as to not gain attention to yourself.
After paying, the boys made their way to find a table. You prayed and prayed that they would sit at a table a little further away from you.
But the universe was not on your side that day because they chose to sit at the table right next to yours. You tried ignoring their presence but God, what the fuck was up with them and why the fuck can't you focus on this stupid work?
"You sure you don't want anything else, Suguru?" The white-haired teen asked.
"Yeah, I'm still full," the other boy replied.
The white-haired boy had a voice more teasing and giggly compared to the dark-haired boy. Either way, you found yourself unable to continue your work.
To pair with your empty plate that once held a pastry, you emptied your cup by taking a long sip of your tea. You let out a sigh of frustration before standing up, the empty plate and cup in your hands.
As you stood up to walk towards the counter, you felt two pairs of eyes boring onto your figure, following your movements. You tried your best to ignore it, hoping it was only just your imagination. You contemplated whether or not to grab a little bit more food since your work was far from done.
"Honey, can you send these to those boys over there?" Your father asked, showing you a tray full of desserts.
"Alright," you nodded, putting down your empty plate in exchange for the tray.
God, oh God, why?
Nevertheless, you brought the tray, making your way to the table of teens. A smile was formed on your complexion for hospitality as you gracefully walked to the boys.
Upon your arrival, the white-haired teen excitedly perked up, a wide smile on his pale complexion. He excitedly clapped as you placed the plates in between the two boys. The light-haired boy had taken off his sunglasses, allowing you a view of his pair of eyes.
And oh Lord, you had never seen blue eyes as beautiful as his.
"I thought you were a customer," the dark-haired teen spoke. You assumed his name was Suguru based on before.
"Oh no, my father owns the shop," you kindly explained with a sweet tone.
"Lucky," the white-haired boy said.
After that day, you found your days being filled with their presence. For a whole week, day after day after day, they keep coming back. And each time, they'd take the table nearest to you.
Until finally, they built up their courage to ask you for your name and proper introductions were made.
Satoru was honestly surprised with himself at how he behaved in getting to know you. Normally, Satoru had no struggle when it came to charming girls. With his good looks and witty personality, it came easy to him.
But with you, he found himself shying away.
Especially when he learned the truth of his best friend.
At the point when Satoru knew Suguru's secret, the three of you had been friends for more than a year. You were part of their friend group too, now.
Since you were just a normal person, curses and the Jujutsu world were something of the unknown to you. At first, they weren't sure if they should tell you but even so, they would easily exorcise any curses that dared neared you.
When they finally told you the truth, it took quite some time for you to believe them. Because seriously, curses and magic? Sounded like a bullshit prank Satoru would pull.
But when you were truly convinced of it, things started to make more sense. And your friendship with them only grew stronger.
But alongside friendship, something else grew.
You found yourself looking forward to the day after school when you'd be at the cafe and soon, both Satoru and Suguru would walk in, taking their seats by your table.
You found yourself loving how Satoru would shower you with flirtatious compliments, often leaving you to be a blushing mess.
But you knew not to get too attached to a non-existent deeper meaning of his actions. Because you've seen the way girls act around him and vice versa.
Satoru was a player and though you have fantasized about being with him, you knew he didn't feel the same for you.
But Suguru was a different case.
He was always a gentleman, with his sweet voice and caring actions. It wasn't that Satoru was a bad guy, it was just that he never looked at you the same way you always looked at him.
Or so you thought.
Because ever since he stepped foot in your father's cafe, all Satoru could think about was getting to know you. He had no idea what it was but there was something about you that pulled his attention.
It wasn't just that he thought you were extremely beautiful, it was more than that. Because of that strange feeling, Satoru didn't immediately hit on you like he would with anyone else.
He wanted to actually get to know you. And when he did get to know you, Satoru was sure he was head over fucking heels in love with you.
And Satoru never wondered about his self-worth. But you always made him question himself.
Was he good enough of a man to be with you?
He finally realized that even if he wasn't good enough, he would do whatever he could to be the best for you. To be the man you deserved. He was ready to confess, to let you know the feelings he'd kept secret from you and Suguru.
But then Suguru's own secret became truth to him.
"Can I tell you something?" Suguru once asked Satoru in the middle of the night when the outside world had gone to sleep but he couldn't because his mind was kept awake with thoughts of you.
The same could be said for Satoru but Suguru held no knowledge of that.
"What's up?"
"I'm in love with Y/N," Suguru confessed to his best friend.
At that moment, Satoru experienced his first heartbreak.
His best friend was in love with the girl he loved.
And the worst thing was that Suguru was a much better man than Satoru ever could be.
Satoru loved his best friend but he sometimes found himself envious of Suguru. Suguru was kind and basically just fucking perfect.
Suguru was the blueprint of the man you deserved in life. He could give you the type of life you wanted. A family, white picket fence, loving home life.
Compared to Suguru, Gojo knew he was incomparable when it came to your love.
So for years, Satoru watched as his two best friends fell in love with each other.
That was the first time Satoru lost you.
When he took too long to realize that he was willing to be the best version of himself for you. It took him too long to realize that you were the girl of his dreams. It took him too long and now, he lost you.
When Suguru first told you the truth about his feelings, you weren't truly sure what you felt. Of course, you knew he was a good person and he would treat you well. And it wasn't that you didn't feel the same. It was just that you also felt the same for Satoru.
But again, you knew Satoru could never reciprocate.
So why would you waste someone as good as Suguru for a person who could never love you?
You and Suguru had so many great days, lasting years. You loved him just as he loved you. You both always tried your best not to exclude Satoru because he was still your best friend alongside Suguru.
Satoru tried his best to let go of his feelings for you. He always reminded himself that you were with Suguru.
Of course, Gojo would never do anything to ruin your relationship with Geto. Because he saw how happy you were with Geto.
You always wore a smile when you'd greet them both, a quick peck on the lips for Geto and a quick tight hug for Satoru.
But even though your greeting hugs were quick, they were warm, always leaving your scent lingering on his shirt.
And Satoru adored it. He adored you.
Satoru knew that that was his fault.
And he knew what happened next was also his fault.
It started when Geto and Gojo were assigned the confidential mission of protecting the Star-Plasma Vessel. It was work that needed to be done discreetly, not something that came as hard for Satoru and his best friend. Things were going so well and they managed to almost get the girl to the safety of Master Tengen's barrier.
But fate was not on their side that day.
The young girl died.
Her death took a heavy toll on both Satoru and Suguru. Your partner was the one accompanying the girl when the ostracized man of the Zenin clan shot her in the head. Suguru blamed himself for not being able to protect her when it was his responsibility.
They returned back home, searching for you and your comfort. You had no idea regarding the details but you knew it wasn't good. Because Satoru was silent the whole time, something completely out of his character.
You hoped that your consolement was good enough for them.
Unfortunately, your comfort only truly reached one of them.
After they graduated from their school, Satoru was assigned more missions compared to Geto since he was the man he meant to be; the world's most powerful sorcerer.
He hated that.
He hated being that.
He just wanted to be yours.
But one day, Suguru went to see you.
His face was not the one that you first saw on him the day of your first meeting.
It was different. Heartbroken. Traumatized.
When you asked what happened, he told you that a junior of his had died. The whole night, you let him stay within the confines of your arms. You made sure to let him know how much you loved him.
But since that day, there was something rather dark within his once kind eyes. You didn't know what it was but it scared you.
You talked to Satoru about it and even he noticed the slight changes in his best friend. But neither he nor you could pinpoint what it was.
And it tortured you to see the man you loved being so troubled and there was nothing you could do for him.
Satoru had just gotten back from a mission alone. He was exhausted and the news that greeted his arrival was not one he expected at all.
"You're fucking kidding," he scoffed, humor lacking in between his words.
"Unfortunately, it's true," Yaga disappointedly looked down. "One hundred and twelve non-sorcerors, dead. All massacred at the hands of Suguru Geto."
That was his second heartbreak.
Losing his best friend to the dark side.
Because he was too blinded by the responsibility of being the strongest, he couldn't help Suguru.
It was his fault.
Everything felt like they were his fault.
"We think he might be going after non-sorcerors," Yaga informed grimly.
No.
Satoru felt panic rushing throughout his entire being.
No, God, please, no.
Not non-sorcerors.
Because you were a non-sorceror.
And you were in Suguru's life.
No.
He would never. Right?
Satoru was almost sure that Geto would never hurt you.
Almost was the right word, indeed.
Because as Satoru ran into your house, your name leaving his lips in panicked screams, you were lying on the floor, tears bleeding out of your eyes. Satoru couldn't keep away the tears overflowing his eyes at the sight of you.
The love of his life was dying.
And it was his fault.
His fault because he couldn't save you from his best friend.
His fault because he couldn't save his best friend from the dark side.
His fault, his fault, his fault.
"No, no, no, no, Y/N, stay with me," he cried, carefully cradling you into his arms.
He didn't want to worsen your injuries, scared that he'd lose you straight away. You were crying, hating yourself for everything that happened.
The blood that seeped out of your body was staining Satoru's uniform but he didn't care.
How could he care if you were there on the verge of dying?
He was ready to teleport you to the school, have Shoko use her reversal technique on you but you stopped him.
"Don't," you hiccuped.
"What? Y/N, I'll get you safe," he shook his head but your hold on his arm tightened to gain his attention.
"Please don't. It's no use, Toru," you cried, nose sniffling from the tears and blood.
"I can save you. Shoko will cure you-"
"I don't want her to," you shook your head. "Let me die, Toru, please," you begged, blinking hard as tears fell.
You begged for him to let you die.
How could he ever agree to that?
Why would he ever agree to a life lacking your presence?
But he did.
Because you asked him.
You asked him because you were scared to live.
You asked him because in the moments before his arrival, the only thing clouding your mind was the darkness held within your partner's eyes as he ran a dagger through your stomach.
You knew Geto wouldn't stop, no matter what, to get what he wanted.
And he wanted to kill you.
You saw that.
He wanted to kill you.
And you were scared to live, always running, looking over your shoulder.
So you wanted to die.
And you knew it hurt, but you had to ask Satoru to do that.
"I'm sorry. It was my fault, I'm so sorry," Satoru cried, his large palm caressing your tired face.
"It's okay, Toru."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so fucking sorry. I should-"
"I love you," you whispered.
In your final moments, you had to let him know.
The secret you kept in your heart after all these years, you had to let it out.
Even as you loved Suguru, you never stopped loving Satoru.
And you wondered if maybe Suguru knew that.
You wondered if you deserved to die at his hands because you had your heart parted.
Either way, you had to tell Satoru.
"I've always loved you," you smiled weakly.
"What?"
"I know you don't feel the same, but I just had to let you know," you sadly let out, finding his hand in yours.
"I love you," he replied, crying before he pressed his lips against yours.
You kissed back immediately, finding home in the confines of his arms and lips.
"Thank you for coming into my life, Satoru," you whispered, your last words replaying in his head as he held you tightly in his arms while you let out your last breath.
That was the second time he lost you.
This time, permanently.
His third heartbreak.
If only he hadn't come into your life, you'd still be alive.
He was the one who wanted to try that cafe.
He was the one who wanted to sit next to you because he thought you were just the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen.
It was him.
And it was his fault for you knowing Suguru.
His fault.
Everything bad that ever happened, Satoru realized, had been his fault.
How they propose w/ Oikawa, Iwaizumi and Kuroo
Request: Oikawa, kuro and iwa proposing to their long term girlfriend??? -anonymous
Hi it’s me back again. *if anyone knows from which song this is I’m gonna give them a cookie no cap*. I’m back with another one and this one is just the cutest thing ever. Oikawas’ is a little dumb and goofy but I believe he would do something like that. Love ya. 💖💖💖
masterlist
rules
warning: fluff and some dorkiness.
Oikawa Toru
Tumblr media
-Okay so he is obsessed with tik tok....and his proposal kinda made it on tik tok.
-Its a nice cutesy proposal I swear he’s just overly proud of himself.
-You had just moved in with him in Argentina.
-Somehow you managed to get a job in your field in the town next to his place so when you told him that well you were moving to Argentina he didn’t hesitate to ask you to move in with him.
-He misses you way too much, the distance makes it hard for him to feel your comfort.
-He would never dream of breaking up with you; he would make it work even if it killed him.
-So it’s been a month and a half of living together and he is in heaven.
-He knew that he wanted to marry you for some time now.
-Since that moment at the airport the day he was leaving.
-Iwaizumi was there along side Matsu and Hanamaki.
-The three dumbasses were bawling their eyes out while you were semi chocking him.
- “Call me when you land okay? I wanna know how jet lagged you feel.”
-The sad smile on your face was enough to make him spill them tears, a sad smile of his own taking its seat on his face.
- “You’ll make fun of me again.”
- “It’s part of my duties as your girlfriend you beautiful dumbass.”
-And right there with you hands on either of his cheeks and tears in your eyes he knew that he would wife you up.
-Now he has been planning this for some time.
-He went all the way to California to find Iwa so they could pick a ring together.
-Both of them needed a ring but anyways.
-After obtaining the ring....he hid it for a few weeks.
-He would wake up everyday ten minutes earlier than usual and just ask you to marry him while you were still asleep.
-Once he was satisfied with the amount of times he has said it he gets up and is out the door.
-He took you to meet his team.
-he wanted to do it then but he chickened out.
-So what does he do?
-He sulks on tik tok.
-Until he comes across a video of a girl stepping into the shower with her boyfriend and pretends that she wants to ask him something important.
-Of course that was a very dumb way to ask you something so big but he got an adrenaline jump and five minutes of dumb courage.
-He sets up his phone right outside the shower curtain and just walks in with you.
- “Hi?!”
- “Hi”
-*giggles* “Can I help you mister?”
-And here is where things take a turn because doubts start to make their way into his head and his palms are getting sweaty-
- “Toru love are you alright?”
- “Marry me.”
-The video went viral, the squad clowned him until your first child was born and your kids laugh with the story till this day.
Iwaizumi Hajime
Tumblr media
-Unlike his best friend he took this wayyyy to chill.
-It popped up in his head one night before one of your visits.
-His roommate had asked him why he stayed in a long distance relationship.
- “Is she really so worth it man? You could have a chick in your bed every night and not wait for her visits every three months.”
- “You cannot imagine how worth it she is.”
 - “You sound like you wanna marry her dude.”
-And from that point on he couldn’t get it out of his head.
-Sure he had imagined your future before.
-The house you’ll have and where he would like to go on your honeymoon, what your kids might look like and what kind of mom you would be.
-But all of it was pure speculation.
-He just wanted to see how it would feel to be so domestic.
-So here he is almost a whole year after that night, choosing a ring along side Oikawa.
-This dumbass had taken the decision to get married too quickly and had called Iwa very VERY panicky and in need of some comfort.
-They both picked their respective rings and hid the velvety boxes deep in their pockets, the two best friends saying their goodbyes and heading off to their missions.
-Now Iwa wanted this to be as lass forced and too thought out as possible.
-He believes that these things are best  done in privacy and only netween the two partners.
-So he doesn’t plan anything out.
-He waits for the moment when it feels right.
-And that’s why it took him over a year to actually ask you.
-Of course it wasn’t such an improptu move like Oikawas’, he was a little less tik tok-y???
-You had ordered tak out and were eating in your shared apartment.
-After graduation you got transferred to the USA and were placed near Iwa so now just like Oikawa you lived together.
-It has been a nice calm year of just domesticated fluff.
-You were telling him about your day, how one of your co-workers ate your boss’s pretchel and they flipped.
-Or how you saw a dog dressed as a hotdog right next to a hotdog stand.
-And that’s when he just drops the bomb.
-He has been keeping the small velevt box in his pocket ever since he bought it.
-Wordlessly standing up he makes his way to your side of the table and drops to one knee.
- “I’m pretty sure you know already that I believe you are my soulmate. My other half and I couldn’t begin to imagine my life without you in it. Not even a month without you. That being said, it would make me the happiest man in the world if you would give me the honor of calling you Ms. Iwaizumi. For the rest of our lives; until we are old and wrinkly with our family running around us. Y/N L/N, will you marry me?”
-You were crying at this point, nodding your head since the moment he called you his other half.
-Of course you said yes and some bomb sex followed.
-Oikawa and his now wife, were so happy to hear that Iwa finally gathered the courage to ask you.
Kuroo Tetsuro
Tumblr media
-Baby!!!!
-He may be nasty but he is my og husband.
-Actually my second og husband.
-The first one is Akaashi.
-He bought the ring the same day he decided to ask you.
-He had been in a meeting and he was bored out of his mind so he texted you.
-You two started off by making fun of each other and ended up playing one of those dumb facebook games.
-He was letting out small giggles here and there which mind you were barely audible but the guy next to him heard them alrtight.
- “Talking with the missus eh?”
-Kuroo couldn’t control himself when he answered.
- “Yeah.”
-His coworker let out a chuckle at the sight of Kuroo’s face of surprise at his own words.
- “It was about time you wifed her. You two are so in love it almost makes me jealous.”
- “Jealous that you don’t have a beating heart Kai?”
-He got slapped....moving on.
-So with that he called you once the meeting was over and informed you of his plans for tonight.
- “Get dressed baby I’m taking you out for dinner tonight.”
- “What’s the occassion mister?”
- “It’s something special. Be ready by 9 I’ll pick you up from our apartment. Oh and could you please wear that gorgeous red dress of yours?”
- “The satin one? The one I can’t wear a bra with?”
- “You without a bra is just a bonus baby.”
- “You are a horny idiot Tetsu.”
-Now he was out on a mission.
-The mission of the ring.
-So he needed to call on the fellowship.
-Thirty minutes later Kenma, Yaku and Daichi were waiting for him at the local Starbucks.
-Alas the fellowship of the ring.
-These four idiots could barely agree on a single thing.
-Gave the shopkeepers a headache.
-But finally FINALLY they decided on one.
-Patting their friend on the back they were off, hoping that you would say yes.
-Apart from Kenma who prayed to the rain gods that you finally open your eyes and see what you are dating.
-While at the restaurant he was quieter than usual.
-He would let you talk and talk and talk about everything and anything with giving you only small nods or hums.
-He was so caught up in his head that he couldn’t see th worry in your eyes.
-  “Tetsu, is everything okay? “
-And there was his oportunity.
- “Actually something is kinda bothering me and you are the only one who can help.”
-He slowly got up and made his way to your side.
- “You remember a few months back when you joked about us getting married? Or that other time when you said that I would make a great dad? Well I guess tonight will determine all of that.”
-He kneeled down and opened the small box rubbing your knee with his other hand.
- “Y/N L/N will you help me make those dreams reality?”
-Kenma disapproves.
 haikyuu!! as dads (pt.1)
Tumblr media
A/n: hello! starting off with a clean slate here yay! if some of the first few seem so short and the writing seems different, it’s because I wrote half of this like three days ago- anywways, requests are open btw!!
Summary: haikyuu characters as dads/domestic living.
Pairings: Semi Eita, Bokuto Koutarou, Kuroo Tetsurou, Oikawa Toru, Kenma Kozume
Warnings: some timeskip spoilers, fluff, parenting, angst (kinda) swearing (maybe), crack, all characters are aged up
Word count: 1.8k
Part Two!
Tumblr media
Semi Eita
Tumblr media
- the serious sometimes scary looking dad, but other than that he’s a fluff ball
- he may look scary but he simply cannot punish them for anything
- especially after they bonded over music, legit cannot do nothing wrong
- on the days he’s not working or with his bandmates, you can often find him with his twin daughters, teaching them how to use different musical instruments
- okay, so your daughters are still pretty young, so they aren’t very good at using most instruments, but for Christmas you and Semi got them both a small set of drums, something easy
- it was very cute to come home from work to see your husband and daughters loudly practicing on the drums
- sure at first it gave you a blasting headache, but after a while you got used to it, and even jammed out with them when you had the time
- mainly just random sounds/beats coming from the two five year olds, but Semi doesn’t mind, he’s willing to teach them and he does proudly
- if one of his daughters or both wants too
- definitely writes songs for his daughters and you
- i can see him writing lullaby’s for them and working on them for hours making sure they were perfect
- lets just say they were perfectly beautiful
- because you went to high school together, the nickname “semi semi” stuck with you (thanks chicken tendo)
- but your girls will also cutely call him “semi semi”
- you often bring them to concerts despite semi saying it’s probably too loud for them
- he’ll let you sit safely with them back stage uwu
- after he runs back to you three and is bombarded with hugs, high-fives and kithes
- YOU’RE ALL SO PROUD OF HIM
Bokuto Koutarou
Tumblr media
- bokuto is a hyper dad, which we all saw coming. there is no taking the child out of bo
- i feel like he’d want tons of kids, probably even uses his children as an excuse to act the way he does
- i can see him with a few kids, 3 to be exact (2 boys and 1 girl)
- he likes to be really involved with his children, and gets very sad/emo when he doesn’t see them for short/long periods of time
- for example, the Black Jackals is a whole different game field than high school volleyball and it’s much more time consuming and has him away a lot
- when he does come home and has time off, let’s just say he clings to his children like a puppy
- even after a while THEY get sick of him and wanna ditch him, cue emo bo :(
- if his children gang up on him (which they do) cue emo Bo again :(
- he babies them all, can’t ever say no
- tends to go back on his word lmao
- if your oldest son begs and begs for season tickets to his favorite sports team? Bo KNOWS they can be expensive, and he was even scolded by you, but two hours after saying no, he runs back to his son and gives him the money
- if your daughter wants to get her nails done with a group of friends, he knows she picks out the most expensive polishes, etc, BUT HE DOES NOT CARE, he will gladly give her the money and even go with her to get his nails done
- yes, you heard me
- of course he’ll being chaperone for this girls day, he promises to pretend that he doesn’t know them and keep his distance (sit very far away lol), but after a little while its just hard to contain and he’s screaming to everyone in the salon that his daughter is sitting on the other side of the room eye-
- your youngest son wants an expensive sports car? done
- he just wants to make his family happy, pleaseee
 Kuroo Tetsurou
Tumblr media
- poor Kuroo, he has 2 daughters and you, so he’s surrounded by girls lol
- he actually doesn’t mind it tbh
- between you and his two daughters, he wouldn’t have it any other way
- just gives him an excuse to be overly protective
- anywhere in public, expect either kuroo holding your hand
- or holding his daughters close to him (piggy back rides, yes)
- or, he stands protectively behind you and your daughters while you talk to someone, sending them threatening glares behind your backs
- he was shy as a child, so it wasn’t surprising when one of his daughters, the youngest, was very very shy
- he doesn’t mind once again, just gives him an excuse to be protective
- although he’s busy, he always makes time for his girls ALWAYS
- definitely a bragger
- if his family is brought into a convo, he pridefully will express how cute and smart his daughters are, may or may not openly declare his daughters are the cutest amongst his co-workers children
- he’s mad intuitive and aware/observant
- kuroo always knows when one or both of his daughters are about to start crying/throw a fit
- cue dad kuroo prepared to crack funny chemistry and or science jokes
- his shy daughter finds him very funny, doubles over every time he cracks a joke and calls him a “silly rooster”
- even when she's older she still laughs and even copies his jokes
- but his other daughter just cringes, every time sigh
- when she was younger she used to fake the laughs, but when he started saying the jokes in public she just stopped reacting, hoping he would stop-
- he didn’t...
- i like to imagine kuroo and kenma staying friends even after high school, and since kenma has hella video games and a whole arcade in his house, he’ll often bring his daughters over to his house
- his eldest daughter loves it at uncle kenma’s house
- cue jealous rooster dad
Oikawa Toru
Tumblr media
- okay so oikawa is ALWAYS busy
- isn’t home much, except during off seasons or if he messes up his knee again (yes, it’ll happen)
- in the event that he’s home due to a knee injury, he’ll wanna be catered too lmaooo
- he doesn’t expect his little girl to cater to him and really only teases you about it
- but his daughter will get him whatever he needs while he’s propped up on the couch
- she admires him so much
- his daughter kinda has a smart mouth-
- definitely got that from him, having picked up on it from a young age, while he was home
- when he was home once propped up with a messed up knee, she went “here dadkawa” as she handed him an ice pack
- he laughs at the nickname, asking you about where it came from later
“she was on call with hajime’s daughter yesterday... hajime asked how ‘poopykawa’ was doing”
- he just rolls his eyes, “at least he cleaned it up for her sake” you explained
- will not lose the “kawa” part, so it’s dadkawa lol
- when he’s away, she’s always asking for dadkawa
- when he’s here they're inseparable
- morning breakfast now will be her sitting in his lap instead of yours
- she asks to watch cartoons with him instead of you :(
- bath time consists of her arguing with you as you try to wash her hair, while oikawa sits on the closed toilet seat laughing to himself
- “mommy i want dadkawa to wash my hair!”
- “you always whine that he gets soap in your eyes”
- “I don’t care!”
- when you bring your daughter to games, she’ll be cheering him on proudly, “mommy, look at dadkawa!” “GO DADKAWA!!!!”
- since he plays for the professional Argentine team, i figure you all live in Argentina now, traveling from Argentina and Japan was tiring, so you moved to be closer
- when the news approaches him after or before games, he makes sure to show his daughter off and the whole time it’s his daughter stealing the show
- she might be shy at first, but as long as dadkawa is holding her, she’s fine
- he’ll teach her Spanish, defiantly sings happy birthday to her in Spanish because it’s special
- he calls her his princesa (princess in spanish)
Kenma Kozume
Tumblr media
- if his child didn’t enjoy video games like him or any of his hobbies like volleyball, I feel like Kenma would have a hard time with them
- he loves his son yes, but he’d have a hard time interacting with him, especially if he’s not into video games or volleyball
- if he is though, you can often find the two in kenma’s home office, playing games
- when your son was a infant, you would always come home from being out/work to find your son sitting in his pj’s on kenma’s lap watching his dad play video games
- “it’s late, ken. i see he’s already in his pj’s- did you already have dinner?” “yes”
- “without me?” you asked, lifting up your son to give his cheeks kisses. “there’s apple pie in the fridge.”
- eye-
- yes he fed your son that, yes he needs a little guidance, yes he needs to be told apple pie is NOT dinner
- on another occasion of coming home, you found your boys in the same spot, once again playing video games, your sons eyes drifting between the game and his father every time he muttered under his breath
- “the screen is bad for your eyes kenma, and he’s just a baby! he’ll get bad eyes too!”
- kenma’s short answer is, “he won’t”
- when your son got older, and he started getting into video games, it got harder for you to tear his eyes away from the screen
- he’s been around video games his whole life, so of course it’d be hard, you just didn’t think he’d grow attached
- kenma leaves most of the strict parenting to you, because he LEGIT doesn’t NOT know what to say
- he’s lowkey afraid he’ll push his son away if he says the wrong thing, but he’s also worried that if he doesn't say anything, they’ll have no real relationship, so he struggles
- he tries his hardest to bond with him over video games and volleyball though
- as said by your son, kenma’s cooking can’t compare to yours, BUT he does know how to make a yummy apple pie
- his son will help kenma with said apple pie, when he’s younger he was often the taste tester and made a mess every time
- kenma gets nervous in huge crowds and really around anyone he doesn’t know, so if his son is a social butterfly he’ll try to get kenma used to people other than himself and you
- somehow, during the rare moments his son has problems (friends, school etc), kenma will be the one to speak up privately
- he’ll definitely tell his son to surround himself with a good friend/good friends, he also makes sure to let him know the importance of quality over quantity
- he has a brotherly relationship with kuroo, and if not for kuroo he’d be alone, he wants the same thing for his son
Shibuya Honey Toast
a/n: finally updating, i ended up writing more then i thought i was going to. i just kept typing, it's not much longer than usual but i try to keep the written chapters a little short.
warnings: none
words: 1.9k
Masterlist
You turned off your phone and quickly got dressed, it was fifteen minutes before you had to meet the guys and it was a ten minute drive and even longer walk so you were hoping you could convince Shinsuke to give you a ride there so you wouldn’t be late. You made your way downstairs to where your grandma was in the kitchen cooking something. “Hey grandma, is it okay if I go out with some friends today?”
She stopped her actions of kneading dough to turn around, “Sure Boo, where are you going?” she asked as you walked around her to pick some of the fruit next to her off of the counter. “We were going to go to that new ramen place that opened up, I also need a ride. Do you know where Shin is?” She pushed the fruit and the cutting board towards you and motioned for you to start cutting the fruit, “Gran I told you I have to meet with my friends I don’t have time to help you today.”
She waved her hand dismissing your statement and motioned to the fruit, “Shinsuke is in the shower sweetheart. He just got back from being in the field he wanted to get the dirt off. You have time to kill, help a poor old lady out.” You rolled your eyes sending a text to the group chat that you were going to be late and had to help your grandma before you could leave. “You aren’t some helpless old lady, I’m pretty sure I saw you doing chin-ups in the garden the other day. What are we making anyway?”
She turned around and continued to knead the dough on the counter, “I decided to make Shibuya Honey Toast. That used to be our guys’ favorite so I thought I’d make you guys some.” You nodded and continued to chop up the strawberries in front of you. “You know it’s been a while maybe five years since I last helped you make this, but from what I remember of other people making this, they don’t usually make their own bread for this.”
She tutted at you as she shook her head, “You know my policy Boo, if it’s not made by hand it’s not made from the heart.” You both laughed and fell into silence while you finished doing your current tasks. About five minutes later Shin came downstairs asking how everything was going. “Well I just put the bread in the oven to bake and Boo here just got done cutting up all the ingredients we need after the bread is done baking. They need a ride into town to meet with some of their friends, do you think you could do that please?” He nodded and walked over to the fridge grabbing a bottle of water when someone knocked on the front door, “I’ll get it.” Shin said, running to the door. A few minutes later he came back into the room with three six foot rowdy teenage boys, two of which were too busy arguing.
“Osamu, Asumu, Suna? What are you guys doing here? You’re supposed to be eating ramen by now, not at my grandma’s house.” You laughed as you walked over to greet them, hugging Atsumu and Osamu, and giving Suna a crisp high-five. You ushered them over to the kitchen table asking if they wanted anything to drink. Atsumu was the one to answer your question as you got their drinks from the fridge, “We were on our way to the place when you texted so we turned around and came here instead.”
You nodded and turned your head to glance at your grandma who was leaning against the counter with a smirk and her arms crossed, “So which one of the twins is it Boo?” You groaned, covering your face with your hands. “Neither of them Gran.” You said at the same time as Kita said “Give her a break Gran.”
Atsumu raised his hand signaling that he had a question, “Y/n, why did she call ya Boo?” You groaned again, was it embarrassing Y/n day? “When they were a kid they were obsessed with trying to scare people so they would hide around corners all the time and yell “Boo!” all day. It was just the cutest thing. Not to mention that their first word was Boo.” After explaining the reasoning behind the nickname all three boys turned to look at you, “You guys want food? I think I’ll make us lunch since we ended up not going out to lunch. Why don’t you guys go watch Tv in the living room or something, what do you want?” You got up walking to the counter to start taking out ingredients. “Why don’t ya make Onigiri? And ya know what? ‘Samu can help ya with it, it is his specialty after all.”
You agreed and began to cook the rice, everyone except for Osamu went to the kitchen. On her way out your Grandma stopped by you and whispered, “So it’s the grey haired twin huh?” and went to the living room after winking at you. You turned to Osamu who was rolling up his sleeves to help you cook and walked over to the fridge, “Do you want to fill them with anything? We could do tuna mayo, umeboshi, I think we might have chicken. We could also do multiple so we have a variety and they could choose.” You looked up from glancing in the fridge and saw Osamu giving you the tiniest of smirks. “I’m rambling aren’t I?” You asked and he nodded, “Oops. So what do you want to do?”
He shrugged, “Let’s just do all three, ‘Tsumu is a pig and will eat anything we put in front of him.” You raised your eyebrow in an accusing manor, “Are you sure it’s Atsumu that’s the pig? I haven’t known you for long, but I’ve seen you eat.” He rolled his eyes and began to mince the chicken you handed to him while you got out the umeboshi and the ingredients needed for the tuna mayo. “Can you hand me the soy sauce, mirin, sugar and sake?” Osamu asked after he was done cooking the chicken. You brought over the needed ingredients and peered over his shoulder as he added all of them into a pan.
“What are you doing?” He asked looking over at you and nudging you with the arm he was using to stir the chicken with. “You look ridiculous standing on your toes like that.” You shrugged falling back onto the flat of your feet, “Sorry not everyone can be over six feet tall. I’m done making the tuna mayo so right now I’m just waiting on you. So I was watching you cook.” He gave a soft chuckle before telling you that that was a weird thing to do. “I don’t think it’s weird. I like watching people do what they’re passionate about. You see them get in this sort of zone where they don’t think about anything but that thing. I loved watching Toru play volleyball because it was his whole life, I can tell it’s the same thing with Atsumu and with you it’s cooking.” During your little speech you sat yourself on top of the counter.
Taking the chicken off the stove and setting it on the counter Osamu leaned into you, “So when do I get to watch you do something you’re passionate about?” You were about to respond when you heard a cough from the kitchen entrance and he quickly moved away from you and you slid off the counter. “Now Y/n what have I said about sitting on the counter?” Your grandma said walking in to take the fully cooked bread out of the oven to finish making her shibuya honey toast. “You told me not to.” You mumbled as she said “I told you not to. So what was that I walked in on.” You stopped forming the onigiri that was currently in your hands, “Gran can we not talk about it, please?” She waved you off with a “Yeah sure, just saying you guys would make a cute couple.” You pinched the bridge of your nose and sighed.
Osamu looked between you and your smirking grandma and cleared his throat, “I agree with your grandma, I think we’d be a cute couple.” You whipped your head towards Osamu, he shrugged and mouthed ‘what?’. You gave a silent laugh and shook your head finishing the onigiri at the same time Gran finished the shibuya. Setting everything on the table you called to the boys in the living room to come eat lunch.
A few minutes after sitting down to eat Atsumu broke the silence, “What happened, why are we all quiet?” You and Osamu mde eye contact at the question and had a silent conversation before Osamu spoke, “We’re eating ‘Tsumu, some of us don’t like to talk with our mouths full, pig.” Atsumu scoffed in offense, “Excuse me, I’m not the one who eats constantly.” It wasn’t long before they started a full blown argument. Everyone watched for a few minutes before Gran broke it up and told them to sit down and eat or get out. After the argument was done Atsumu and Osamu sat back down, previously ready to jump across the table to attack each other. Everyone sat down and finished eating, making small talk here and there. You went to go do the dishes when your Grandma shooed you away insisting she had it. “Grandma Kita let us help, we made the mess.” Osamu tried to convince her to let you guys do it but if you know anything about your Gran it’s that she’s stubborn. “Hon go have fun, pick fruit in our field or something, and please call me Grandma Yumie, you’ll be family soon enough.” She replied, turning around and starting to clean.
You turned around, hand on your forehead walking out of the kitchen with Osamu following you, “I swear to god I’m actually going to put her in a home. I apologize for her behavior, Hajime has to go through this every time he visits or sees her.” He nodded as you guys exited the house to the back where Shin, Suna, and Atsumu were.
Shin was in the middle of trying to convince Atsumu to do something productive while he was here. While Shin did work in the field earlier this morning there were still a few things that could still be harvested. It didn't take long for him to convince Atsumu seeing as how he practically worshipped the ground Shin walked on, Suna however wasn't really jumping for joy at the idea of doing field work. After a bit of convincing and a lot of bribing and promises of chuupets he finally agreed to help for a few minutes.
The rest of the day was spent picking various fruits and vegetables while laughing and making fun of each other over old stories you told each other. After a few hours everyone had to go back to their respective homes and call it a night.
Aizawa, We Agreed No More Cats: Chapter 9
11:50 AM
Existence Is A Prison
gay salt: Yaoyorozu is amazing.
ranch flavored jello: She can bench press me anytime.
gay salt: To be fair, you'd let any strong lesbian bench press you.
ranch flavored jello: You're not wrong but you don't have to say it.
life is a nightmare: She did really well, I'm glad she's advancing despite that Tsubasa guy cutting her up with his glass.
deku deck-you: I think that guy might be related to one of my old friends before UA.
foil-mecha: What happened that you aren't friends anymore
deku deck-you: Tsubasa Ryuu? He got kidnapped or something during a break and I never saw him again. My other two friends? They were fake. They ditched me after the Sludge Villain incident.
nat20: I'll kick their asses for you.
deku deck-you: I wouldn't stop you from burning Aldera Middle School to the ground. For Deku's sake, mostly, but also because I hated those teachers.
feral cat dad: What happened at Aldera Middle School?
deku deck-you: Well, you probably know from Deku by now that I wasn't always easy on him or even this easy to get along with. From the time Deku was misdiagnosed as quirkless, I bullied him. Let's be honest, my reasoning wasn't important because I made his life a living hell just because mine was a living hell at home.
deku deck-you: We talked about everything the day after I moved into the dorms, so don't worry, there's no hard feelings and we're working through all the shit I did to him.
deku deck-you: But, anyway, the teachers at Aldera tried to fail Deku constantly because of his 'quirklessness' but I'd vouch his grades for him once I realized they were trying to flunk him out of the school. And, after the Sludge Villain happened, they began doing the same thing to me because they thought I was influenced by a villain even though I'd told them so many times that I was basically a hostage.
feral cat dad: Looks like I'm opening a formal complaint against Aldera Middle School after the Sports Festival.
deku deck-you: Don't, me and Deku just want to leave Aldera behind us.
feral cat dad: Fine.
feral cat dad: Oh, they had a draw while we were texting. Jeez, that was fast.
deku deck-you: Don't you dare underestimate Kirishima.
ranch flavored jello: Someone has a crush.
deku deck-you: Don't you dare speak of this. I'll launch Deku at you.
ranch flavored jello: Jeez, fine. Feral Deku scares me.
deku deck-you: Good. I gotta go.
12:20 PM
Existence Is A Prison
farmer toshi: Wow, Kats. You did great.
deku deck-you: Can't talk right now. She's in pain and won't let go of me.
deku deck-you is now offline
feral cat dad: Fuck, she overstressed herself.
farmer toshi: I want so badly to check on her but I need to fight Tokoyami now.
1:15 PM
Existence Is A Prison
farmer toshi: Katsuki, you're coming back soon, right? I mean, your match is next after Todoroki and Yaoyorozu.
deku deck-you is online
deku deck-you: I'm back, who's won?
farmer toshi: Kirishima won against Tetsutetsu in their rematch, I won against Fumi, Midoriya won against Toru, Kiyo won against Shizuka, Kaminari just won against Fujioka.
deku deck-you: Okay, good.
ranch flavored jello: I'm down by the entrance to the field. What's wrong with Yaoyorozu?
ranch flavored jello has started a video chat
[Yaoyorozu is shown fumbling around a bit in the ring and Todoroki is in a fighting stance, but drops it when she's facing the wrong way]
Yaoyorozu, why are you stumbling? -Unknown
Shut up and fight me, Todoroki! -Unknown
Something's wrong with you, I won't compete if you're hurt. -Unknown
Just fight me! -Unknown
[Yaoyorozu is shown collapsing and Midnight goes to check on her.]
Yaoyorozu cannot compete due to a previous injury, this match goes to Todoroki! -Unknown
ranch flavored jello has ended the group chat
gay salt: Mon dieu. Is she alright?
ranch flavored jello: She's muttering about her eyes.
ranch flavored jello: Oh god, there's glass in her eyes.
feral cat dad: Get up here, Toru. Now, you don't have to see that.
ranch flavored jello: I won't leave her alone without anyone she knows. I won't. She can't see, Dad.
feral cat dad: Okay, keep her company. But please be aware, they're probably going to do surgery to try to save her vision.
ranch flavored jello: It must have happened when she made that smoke bomb and Tsubasa couldn't see her.
feral cat dad: They're already having Katsuki against Kirishima to ease the tension in the stadium. Clearly, Katsuki's winning already.
2:00 PM
Existence Is A Prison
feral cat dad: Yeah, Katsuki won. So did Shinsou against Midoriya, Kiyo won against Kaminari, and Katsuki won against Todoroki.
ranch flavored jello: At least there's some good news.
deku deck-you: What good news? Icyhot wouldn't fight me with his fire and we spent like ten minutes yelling about trauma before the fucker got blown back so hard when his fire hit my explosion that he's now got a concussion.
feral cat dad: I understand you're angry, but you didn't do anything wrong, Katsuki.
deku deck-you: I know, I just feel bad. Now two of the people I've fought today are out of commission temporarily and I feel responsible.
feral cat dad: I know, and I also know they'll both forgive you. You went off with Uraraka for almost a hour and you didn't mean to injure Todoroki.
2:20 PM
Existence Is A Prison
feral cat dad: I'm so proud of all three of you.
farmer toshi: Katsuki, you're helping put my shoulder into place as a punishment for pulling it out. Recovery Girl already said it was fine.
deku deck-you: A punishment I'll accept fully for doing it in the first place. After I'm done visiting Pink Cheeks again.
deku deck-you is now offline
feral cat dad: My chaotic sons.
ranch flavored jello: Alright, I'm back. Momo can't leave the hospital tonight and she's been instructed to have Recovery Girl heal her in two days.
feral cat dad: There's my daughter. It's a good thing you kids are off for two days after today because you need time to heal after all that.
feral cat dad: Nezu's already insisted Yaoyorozu stay in the dorms because he doesn't want her too far from campus and her parents live in Tokyo prefecture and he feels it's too far for an injures student to travel.
feral cat dad: Tokage is already getting spoken to by Nezu, so she'll likely be added to this chat soon enough. Toru, can you turn on Yaoyorozu's screen reader for her so I can add her to this chat.
ranch flavored jello: Done!
feral cat dad has added Yaoyorozu
Yaoyorozu: Hello everyone!
foil-mecha: Hi, Momo!
Yaoyorozu: Hello! I'm going to take a nap, the surgery was very taxing so I'm quite tired. I'll message you all later when I wake up.
ranch flavored jello: I'll stay with her, don't worry!
Yaoyorozu is now offline
feral cat dad: You haven't changed her username yet, Hitoshi.
farmer toshi: I figure she probably doesn't know our usernames yet so I'll do it later after we tell her ours.
deku deck-you is now online
deku deck-you: Nezu's with Uraraka so I can't visit her right now.
farmer toshi: Is she okay?
deku deck-you: I don't know if I'm allowed to say. Honestly, if it were me and someone told other people I didn't know well without me knowing, I'd call it an invasion of privacy.
feral cat dad: Nezu said Uraraka should be fine. There's no need to worry about her, Recovery Girl is nothing if not adamant on the care of her patients.
deku deck-you: Alright, I'm allowed in now that she's asking for me.
deku deck-you is now offline
life is a nightmare: I wonder how badly hurt she is to want Katsuki there for comfort.
minabeana Oh my gosh, that baby is so cute. I love him already.
winniepie He's so cute.
kiripima Aw, welcome to the world, little guy.
sparklegirl He's cute, Ocha, mon ami!
michipeachy 🥰🥰🥰
farmer toshi: Does Uraraka have a baby sibling?
foil-mecha: Last I heard she was an only sibling.
nat20: Maybe her mom had the baby today?
feral cat dad: Alright, Uraraka is good now, not that I need to tell you since Aoyama apparently stalks people's accounts on everything.
gay salt: Hey, she gave me her account name willingly! I have all the other girl's accounts.
feral cat dad: Anyway. Tokage's also done talking to Nezu. Here's the girls of the hour.
feral cat dad has added Uraraka and Tokage
Uraraka: Hi, guys.
gay salt: Ocha, are you okay?
Uraraka: Oh yeah, Nezu said me and my baby can stay at the dorms.
gay salt: Quoi? Your baby?
Uraraka: Yeah, didn't Katsuki or Aizawa tell you all? That's why I'm moving into the dorms. I went after my match in the Sports Festival with Katsuki and they had to end up doing an emergency C-Section because they weren't finding a heartbeat. Thankfully, my idiot daughter is fine, just chaotic.
gay salt: What's her name?
Uraraka: Uraraka Emiyo.
gay salt: I will spoil her.
foil-mecha: How cute is she?
Uraraka: katsukicryingholdingemiyo.jpg
foil-mecha: Truly a glorious child. I assure you, us 1a students will assist you in your raising of dear Emiyo as best we can.
ranch flavored jello: I'm not good with baby-babies but I'll try.
Yaoyorozu is now online
Yaoyorozu: I'll help as well, once I'm able to.
Uraraka: It's okay if you don't want to, Momo.
Yaoyorozu: I don't believe you were there for it but, in the second rounds, I had to forfeit the match to Todoroki because, in the first round, Tsubasa Yuudai accidentally got glass in my eyes. My win in the first round was a fluke and I was running only off instinct when I got him out of bounds but, since taking the glass out can't fix the amount of nerve damage, I'll likely be blind for the foreseeable future.
Uraraka: Oh gods, Momo, I'd come give you a hug but I can't move around much yet.
Yaoyorozu: It's fine, Uraraka. It was an accident after all, he didn't mean to do that but the smoke bomb I made obscured his vision.
life is a nightmare: If either of you need anything, just text us, someone will get it to you.
Yaoyorozu: Thank you, but I have Toru for now!
Uraraka: Thanks. I'm good, I've got a Katsuki.
nat20: You say that like you've roped him in or something.
Uraraka: Well he's been proclaiming that he's Emiyo's uncle for the whole thirty minutes she's been in this world.
schrodinger better run: To be fair, is he not her uncle by now?
Uraraka: He is. He's the first besides my parents and me to hold her. He's definitely her uncle.
pure: Has he even put her down yet?
Uraraka: katsukiasleepwithemmiyoinhisarms.jpg
Uraraka: No, he hasn't. My mom's about to pick her up though. She's worried she'll fall and I have to feed her and all so he'll be temporarily losing holding rights anyway since I have to make him leave to feed her.
gay salt: He's sleeping, Ocha. Plus, I thought you knew he was 💅
Uraraka: He's gay?
gay salt: No, he's trans, Ocha, us girls had a whole meeting on including our ftm classmates on girl days if they're comfortable with it and you forgot?
Uraraka: Oh yeah, in that case I'm whipping out the titty so my mom can show my how to feed a baby.
Uraraka is now offline
feral cat dad: You kids are going to give me a heart attack one day and I'll put all your names on my tombstone as a reason I died.
Prompt: "Don't say goodbye (again)."
00:15 AM:
Oikawa don't drunk text Toru: hey, could you give me a ride from the airport, like, right now? Terminal 3? U still live in tokyo, right? - toru <3
You stared at your phone, unsure whether to be more disgruntled by your ex-boyfriends blatant request after ages of radio silence or the obnoxious (but characteristic) use of the heart emoji.
Two years ago, the short but intense affair you have had with the volleyball pro player had ended rather abruptly when he got a last-minute offer from a club in Argentina.
You were aware that you had absolutely no business being sulky about his sudden departure, after all, what the two of you had could hardly be considered a committed relationship.
Despite that, unwelcome thoughts of “what if...” whenever he contacted you from overseas made you let your conversations fizzle out slowly until at some point, they stopped completely.
You allowed yourself 5 minutes of consideration, fingers ghosting over the keyboard of your phone without touching the cold display.
00:21 AM:
will be there in 45
Barely 10 minutes went by as you slipped out of your pyjamas into somewhat presentable clothing, did your hair, put on some light make up and left the underground parking of the apartment complex in your shiny black company car.
Given the late hour, traffic had mostly died down and you reached the expressway directed to the airport in no time while trying very hard to focus on driving and not think about what was to come, the butterflies in your belly flustered enough as is.
You pulled up at the pick-up area at 1:00 AM to the tick. Toru was hard to miss, standing at the sidewalk accompanied by two suitcases and clothed in a fashionable (and undoubtedly designer) winter coat
Courtesy of the tinted car windows, he didn't recognize you immediately. You pressed a button on the centre console and the passenger seat window slid down without a sound, revealing you to the outside world.
“You owe me for this, just so you know.” You leant over to the open window and into Toru's field of view.
The man's eyes widened a little with recognition and a disarming smile appeared on his face.
“Anything, sweetheart. You have no idea how happy I am to see you.”
Without comment, you pushed another button and the trunk opened with a click. Toru loaded in his luggage and the coat, closed the trunk and proceeded to fall into the leather seat on the passenger side.
“Nice ride. Life treating you good?”
He turned on the seat heater and connected his phone to the car's entertainment system. A bassy R&B song started playing.
You shrugged non-committally and glanced over to him as you pulled back on the road.
“I guess you could say so. But you know how it is with me, I'm hard to please.”
He looked great, which didn't come as a surprise, his hair a little shorter and a shade lighter, his skin tan and smooth as per usual. You swallowed and pointedly ignored the fluttering in your chest.
“I wouldn't put it like that,” he sounded amused, “You've always been remarkably... ambitious. It's something I find very captivating about you.”
Out of the corner of your eye you saw him eyeing you up. He seemed pleased.
“We're headed to the Hyatt, by the way.”
You bit your lip, fingers thrumming on the steering wheel. Things went exactly as expected, Toru sweet-talking you and you reacting like a lovestruck lamb that had found it's way back to the shepherd.
“Don't take this the wrong way. We left on good terms and I like doing you a favour. You don't have to massage my ego in return.”
“Left on good terms? That's what you call it? Please darling, nobody ever ditched my like you did. What happened to let's stay friends, let's keep talking no matter what? You're lucky I don't carry grudges.”
You laughed outright at his bantering complaints.
(never before in you life you had met someone as unforgiving as Oikawa Toru)
“In that case, the fact that you ask a cold hearted bitch like me to give you a ride must mean you're really pining for me,” you said, not entirely serious either.
“Joking aside – I'm... not great at staying in contact long-distance. Talking to you reminded me of the good times we had together and on bad days, I missed those too much for my own good. I'm sorry if I hurt you.”
The mood shifted while you spoke and you could nearly hear Toru pondering your explanation. Inadvertently, you wondered if you had revealed too much.
“I do that too, you know. Miss that thing we had.” He stretched in his seat beside you. “But that's not how it has to be. I'm here right now, and so are you, and we could make this count – if you want us to.”
Without replying, you pulled into an open space next to the impressive building that housed the Tokyo Hyatt and the low rumbling of the car engine lapsed into silence.
Toru took your hand. His skin felt familiar on yours, like it would with an old lover, and simultaneously electrifying, like on a first date.
You turned your head towards him and were met with eyes that sucked you right into their depths, and you fell deeper and deeper every passing second.
“I'm serious about this. Please don't say goodbye again. Don't let this be the end. We deserve more.”
A knock on the driver's side window dragged you back into reality and with frantic movements, you reached for a button and the window slid down, revealing a middle-aged man in a posh uniform – a valet.
“Would you like me to park your car in our underground parking garage, madam? We guarantee twenty-four-seven monitoring and the best care.”
The next morning, your car was squeaky clean and the interior smelled like expensive detergent.
This post is part of the drabble challenge.
How I Met Your Mother Father: Haikyū Edition! | 2
Ft. Oikawa / Iwaizumi / Ushijima / Tendo / Semi
Summary: How you met your husband-o! Warnings: I took creative liberties regarding Ushijima’s story and how the Olympics work. Also I’m sleepy and going back in and editing my mistakes. :)
Part 1: Ft. Kuroo / Bokuto / Akaashi / Yaku Part 3: Ft. Daichi / Sugawara / Asahi / K. Ukai
Oikawa Toru
You and Oikawa met in university. You were studying for a degree in Kinesiology & Sport Science and your goal was to get into Sports Medicine and work for one of the National or Olympic teams.
It was by chance you joined the men’s volleyball team as their manager. You originally gunned for track and field, but a mishap with your train pass at the station made you late for sign ups.
On your first day of practice you arrived early to get a head start on things - ordering uniforms, getting sports drinks ready, gathering clean towels. You were coming back from the laundry room when a ball was headed straight for you. Fear reached your knees decided to lock them in place so your first instinct was to block, holding your palms out, but the sheer force and velocity caused your hands and the ball to be thrown back, still smacking you in the face and quite literally knocking you off your feet.
Lying there, you wanted the gym floor to open up and swallow you whole.
“Are you ok?! I’m so sorry!” Eyes fluttering open, you looked up into brown eyes, wide with worry.
“Well boys, this is your first year team manager. Oikawa! I thought I told you first years to stop showing off! Take responsibility and help her to the nurse’s office. When you come back you’ll be doing flying laps until I say stop,” the coach yelled, blowing a whistle and signaling the start of practice.
He picked you up easily in his arms, some of the boys who were out of earshot of the coach whistling at him. Now that you weren’t lying on the ground and he wasn’t so close in your face, you could really take in his features and god was he handsome. You really did wish the ground had swallowed you whole.
The nurse flashed a light in your eyes. “Well, you’re definitely going to have a bruise.”
“You don’t have to stay with me,” you told told Oikawa as the nurse looked you over for signs of concussion.
“I feel bad; I just want to make sure you’re ok,” he reasoned, giving you his most charming smile.
“If you feel bad, then you can make it up to me later instead of using me to stall facing your punishment.”
“It’s a deal. No take backs, my cute manager,” he sang, quickly escaping before you could rebut.
And that’s how you ended up going on a date with Oikawa Toru and marrying a year after he went pro.
Tumblr media
Iwaizumi Hajime
You sighed, resting your chin in your hand as you watched Iwaizumi from across the library. While most girls at school fawned over Oikawa, you were absolutely smitten with his best friend.
Letting your shoulders drop, you turned back to your textbook, tapping your pencil eraser to the tip of your nose as you bit down on your lower lip, clueless that the boy who’d invaded your thoughts had noticed you.
Months later and graduation was today and it was official. You’d spent the whole year pining for a boy you’d never ever spoken to. In a month you’d be starting college and hopefully someone new would catch your eye.
The summer wasn’t exciting. You spent your time packing for Tokyo and wandering around town, hoping to catch even a glimpse of Iwaizumi in passing; no luck.
You were starting classes at UTokyo in a few weeks for two degrees in Creative Writing and Publishing. You wanted to write stories and if you couldn’t do that then you wanted to help people get their stories out there.
First day of classes were incredible. Everything was interesting and you were reignited with a new sense of excitement. You’d almost forgotten about why you were so mopey before.
It was Wednesday and you were on your way off campus to find lunch when you felt your heart skip. There he was just across the courtyard; Iwaizumi.
Was he seriously here too? Gripping your hands tightly around your book bag, you considered your options.
New school.
New city.
New you.
Right?
Breathing steady, you quickly crossed the courtyard. The closer you got the stiffer your body felt and the more your hands shook until you couldn’t walk anymore. Your feet were glued in place and you watched as Iwaizumi walked right past you.
Dammit.
As weeks passed it was like high school all over again. Now that you’d seen him once, he seemed to be popping up everywhere and it was driving you mad. You even saw him at a coffee shop off campus the other day.
You sat in the library, studying for your first exam. Nervously, you bounced your restless leg as you tapped your pencil’s eraser against your forehead, frustrated.
Things were supposed to be different.
You barely registered when someone sat next to you.
“If you aren’t careful, you’ll leave a mark on your face.”
Your face flushed and you dropped your pencil; that’s Iwaizumi’s voice. Almost mechanically, you turned your head and met his gaze.
He sat with his body turned toward you, arm propped up at the elbow with his cheek resting on his fist.
“I wasn’t sure it was you, but now I’m positive,” he said, smiling at you. Smiling at you. You’d only ever dreamed.
“You know... who I am?”
“Well yeah, we went high school for three years together.” His voice was teasing and everything you ever wished for. “I was always busy with school and volleyball, I never gave myself a chance to talk to you.”
“You wanted to talk to me?”
“I might have seen you looking at me a few times.” There it goes. Called out. You were a stuttering mess. There was no way you could play it off now.
Letting you flounder a bit more, he rested his hand on your bouncing knee, sending a jolt of electricity through you, and that expression on his face told you he might have felt it too.
“(Y/N) why don’t we go out and we can catch up for lost time?”
And that was how you and Iwaizumi Hajime became inseparable ever since, marrying a few years after starting your careers after college.
Tumblr media
Ushijima Wakatoshi
The Olympics were almost every athlete’s dream.
You were raised to play, eat, breathe, and dream gold.
Gold medals that is.
All your life you’d been on national teams and qualified for the Youth Olympics in Track and Field at 14.
Now, four years later, you were off to the actual Olympics. You were boarding the plane to London for athletes who were heading over early. It was a long flight with a layover in Turkey.
Dressed in leggings, your Team Japan Olympic sweatshirt, and slipping on a pair of comfy house shoes you wore specifically on planes, you snuggled into your window seat, gazing through the small frame of glass.
You snapped out of it when you felt someone sit in the seat beside you. Turning, you felt your jaw slack slightly at the large and fit build seated right next to you.
Okay, full disclosure, you were boy crazy deep inside. Your parents didn’t allow dating and drilled into you that boys were just a distraction from your dreams.
“Go for gold. Boys come later.”
But holy shit. He was looking right at you too. Oh my god, was he talking to you? What was he saying?!
Oh right.
Smiling, you reached up and removed your earbuds. “Sorry, what was that?”
“My seatbelt.”
You felt your mouth run dry. His voice. Was life serious right now?!
“Sorry,” you laughed lightly, reaching under your thigh for the belt strap, handing it to him. You might have handed it to him in a way so that your hands touched on purpose. Maybe you didn’t. All you knew was that you wanted to keep talking to him and you definitely wanted to touch him.
“Thanks,” he spoke simply, buckling in before facing forward.
 Okay, you mouthed silently, straightening up in your seat. Tucking a stray hair behind your ear, you turned to him again. “I’m (Y/F/N), Olympic Track and Field.”
He turned to look at you. “Ushijima Wakatoshi. Volleyball.”
A man of few words? “You know, I think I recognize you now.”
“We were featured in the same article in Number last month.” His voice was blunt.
Your eyes widened. “Wow! You remembered what article we were both in?”
He didn’t respond, but by god, he just said more than just three words to you and it was a full sentence. You gave a few more tries at making conversation, but he had no response. With a sigh, you shrunk into your seat and put your earbuds in.
You weren’t sure when you’d fallen asleep, but you were awakened by a jerking and shaking motion. An arm was wrapped tightly around you as the cabin continued to shake and rattle.
A ding sounded and the captain made an announcement: “Sorry passengers, but we’re currently experiencing some turbulence. We’ll be adjusting our flight pattern. Please stay seated with seatbelts fastened.”
The hand on your arm tightened, but you were tucked tightly into his side to where you couldn’t adjust your head to look at Ushijima’s face. Reaching over, you placed one of your hands on top of his and he adjusted to hold your hand tightly, as your other arm stretched across his torso, holding onto him.
Even when the plane moved into less turbulent air space, he continued to hold onto you and eventually you slept again.
He woke you up when you landed in Turkey and asked if you’d spend the layover with him in the airport while some of the other athletes left to explore. Though most of the conversation was one sided with you talking and him listening, there was a connection and when you finally made him laugh, you knew you wanted to always be the reason for his smiles.
When you finally reached London, you spent as much time as possible with one another before the events began; morning runs in the city, sightseeing, eating meals together, taking tons of photos together.
You’d won gold in the 500 meter. The volleyball team won bronze.
When the both of you finally returned home to Japan, the two of you stayed in contact as more than just friends, but he’d never label your relationship out loud.
That’s how you and Ushijima Wakatoshi, medal winning Olympians, ended up together, keeping your relationship on the down low and out of the press for two years and marrying just before the next Olympic Games.
Tumblr media
Tendo Satori
As far as you were concerned, Tendo was an insensitive goof.
You had known him since you were babies, your mothers were best friends, and by god he was the most annoying force to ever appear in your life. Your childhood was filled with plenty of hair pulling and teasing.
It was embarrassing when girls started growing breasts and you were still flat as a board. His teasing was unrelenting. And when you finally grew some semblance of breasts? You didn’t even want to get started on that nightmarish period of life.
When high school came around, he was like a second shadow to you, never far. It was irritating, but you tolerated it.
He wasn’t an idiot, managing to also get into Shiratorizawa. He also knew when you were reaching your limit with him and he’d instantly change his behavior, turning into the sweet and gentle boy you first knew.
Hell, you even welcomed his attention at this point. There weren’t any other boys looking your way. As soon as you’d start talking to a guy, the next day they’d avoid you like the plague.
He was your best friend.
You hated him.
You loved him.
Second year didn’t seem to be any different from first year. Valentines Day came around and a boy you’d been crushing on rejected your chocolates. It was absolutely embarrassing.
You studied in the library, keeping yourself mentally preoccupied, while waiting patiently for Tendo to walk you home after school, you only hoped his practice didn’t run late like normal.
You heard girls whispering about your rejection earlier. It was so hard to not just break into tears. You’d been holding them in all day.
After a couple hours, you slammed your book shut, temporarily stopping the whispers while you packed and left, waiting for Tendo outside of the school gates.
“Hey washboard!” came his cheery voice.
Biting your lip, you kept your head down as you walked with him down the street. You hadn’t made it ten steps before stopping, trying to hold in your sobs. Reaching into your bag, you pulled out your thoughtfully wrapped rejected box of sweets and held it out to him.
“Weren’t you going to give these to that Suzukita guy on the swim team? Chicken out?” He turned the box over in his hands.
Balling your hands into fists, you snatched the box back from him. “Look Sato, if you don’t want them then just say so!”
He took a better look at your face, noticing streaks of tears down your face. With a small growl, he snatched them back before tearing into the box, eating a couple of pieces. “I didn’t say I didn’t want them!”
Shoulders trembling, you let yourself cry freely.
Tendo frowned, brows furrowed in worry. Stuffing the chocolates into his bag, he held your hand, pulling you along with him and walking you home silently. No jokes. No teasing. Just the sweet boy who always made you hold his hand when you were toddlers.
Your troubles weren’t over just yet though. White Day came along and you weren’t ready for the horror show of feeling alone again.
The day was uneventful. You hardly spoke to anyone. Even your girl friends avoided you so they didn’t accidentally make you feel bad.
White Day was lonely and it sucked.
Thankfully, the day didn’t drag out and Tendo didn’t have practice, just a quick team meeting, so you waited at the front gates like normal.
“(Y/N)! Ready to go home?” he asked, ruffling your hair.
You shrugged, running your fingers through your hair in an attempt to fix it.
“Hey.” He caught your wrist, gaining your full attention. Holding out his hand, he offered you a small white box with a white ribbon. “Here.”
Carefully, you accepted, removing the ribbon and handing it to him. You opened the box and a small smile made its way onto your face. Marshmallow chocolates. You got them once when you were little from your dad. You shared them with Tendo and hadn’t had them again since.
“Thanks, Satori,” you whispered, unable to meet his eyes.
He reached forward and grabbed a lock of your hair, clumsily braiding it before tying the end with the white ribbon from the box.
Reaching down, he took your hand, walking you home. As the two of you walked, the hand holding yours began to fidget. Glancing over you watched as he slipped a white beaded bracelet from his wrist onto yours.
Stopping, you let go of his hand to look at it. Peeking up at him, you caught the faint blush on his cheeks before looking at the hand made kid’s bracelet carefully.
SATORI <3 (Y/N)
“Sato...”
“It’s true. I... I love you, (Y/N).”
And that’s how you and Tendo Satori ended up attached to each other for life, getting engaged after high school and marrying after college.
Tumblr media
Semi Eita
“What can I get you?”
Those were the first words you ever spoke to him. He was dressed casually and brooding at the bar you worked.
At night, you worked at one of the many tiny bars in Shinjuku’s Golden Gai, a huge tourist trap, and during the day you were a student at Bunka Fashion College.
He wasn’t much of a talker and wore an unmovable scowl, but he bought drinks all night and didn’t bother you unlike the other customers.
You were surprised when he showed up again the next night, and the night after that, and again after that.
When he stepped into your tiny bar for the sixth day in a row, on a Monday night, it was almost automatic the way you moved, pouring him a whiskey before setting the glass and bottle down in front of him.
It was pretty quiet tonight. And late. There wasn’t a ton of activity. In fact, your only other customer left within the next thirty minutes, leaving you and Mr. Serious alone.
“Let me know if you want something different for a change,” you said, laying out some books on the counter before hopping over the bar and taking a seat at one of the eight stools - the only seating in the whole place.
“What are you reading?” His voice surprised you. Honestly, you almost forgot he was there.
“Ah, it’s for one of my classes. History of sewing, basically. Kind of boring, but they say I have to learn it,” you shrugged, laughing a little.
“Where do you go?”
You smiled at him in a teasing matter, holding a finger up to your lips. “Can you keep a secret?”
He quirked a brow. “Promise.”
“Hmm... I guess I can trust you,” you teased, “I go to Bunka. Students aren’t supposed to have jobs so my life’s in your hands, okay?”
He scoffed, masking a laugh that almost escaped him. “Sure.”
From that night forward this was a common theme. He’d stay late and when it was just the two of you left, you’d have deep conversations and talk about anything and everything either of you could think of.
You learned quite a bit about him.
He was a musician in a band and a civil servant.
He was stressed about some projects he was working on, which was why he started coming to the bar.
He liked “your calm energy” and how you didn’t bother him; that’s why he kept coming back.
He played volleyball in school and was a setter.
His favorite food was tekka maki.
He was a Scorpio.
His friend used to tease him a lot in high school about how he looked in clothes so now he tried to be more conscious of how he dressed.
Soon your relationship evolved from just bartender-patron. He was inviting you to his concerts and asking to see you during your time between school and work.
You recalled him mentioning wanting to find a new casual jacket that didn’t make him look weird, so you spent a few days in your design class making him a jean jacket you thought would flatter him.
He met you outside of the school building one evening - the two of you had plans to go to a night market for dinner and try the different stalls. It was supposed to be chilly so it was the perfect time for you to give it to him.
“Semi! Here, this is for you,” you said, holding out a simple gift bag to him. You literally finished today, applying some patches and last minute details. “Go ahead and open it.”
“(Y/N)... This is exactly what I was looking for.” His normally grumpy expression was softer as he held it up, examining it. He noted there wasn’t a tag and he was pretty sure there was the tiniest bit of blood on the collar. “Did you really make this for me?”
You stuttered, “I-I know y-you were having a hard time finding something you liked so I thought you deserved something you wanted.”
“I... deserve what I want?” he repeated, looking you in the eye.
A blush flared across your cheeks. “Well... Yeah.”
He paused, taking in your face and how different you looked when you were flustered. “I want to date you, exclusively.”
And that’s how you became the musician Semi Eita’s girlfriend, marrying a year later.
Title: Christmas Day
Summary:
Haru convinces Rin to spend Christmas with him in Disneyland and Rin remembers when she used to go there with her parents.
Part two of my present to @hizashi-yamadas for the Animanga Secret Santa 2020
Link to cross-postings: AO3
Link to other parts:
December 24: Christmas Eve  (Toru x Kyo)
December 26: The Day after Christmas (Uo x Kureno)
Note: Merry Christmas Elisha and I hope you enjoy! Keep your eyes out for the next installment :D
Rin wasn’t planning anything big for Christmas. In fact, she had never really done anything for Christmas since she had moved out of her parent’s place and into Kagura’s house. Being reminded everyday by the dynamics of Kagura and her mother of the family life she did not achieve, somehow made her ponder her circumstances as a daughter, as a part of a family.
A holiday as big and supposedly as warm as Christmas despite the biting winter was only mocking her. It did not feel warm at all.
It was like any other cold day in winter and Rin found herself curled up on the blanket at four in the morning when she looked at her phone to see December 25 written on the front and a subheading below which said “Christmas Day.” She had heard that in other countries, Christmas day was an important holiday for families. At least there, it was bearable. Kagura and her mother only made it less bearable because those two liked to spend it together every single damn year.
She was sure Kagura wouldn’t invite her out like they did the first few years. Like every year, Rin was determined to stay alone in the room.
That was until she saw that message under the date.
Won free tickets to Disneyland. Let’s go tomorrow.
It wasn’t a question. In fact, it seemed like an order more than anything. Rin started to consider then, that maybe for that year, her Christmas plans would change. The name she saw above the message only convinced her more, to maybe get out of bed that day and find some other way to celebrate that dreaded holiday.
Rin was quick to reply. As she watched the bar fill as the message was sent, she looked back up at the name at the top of the screen and allowed herself a little smile.
Haru Soma.
Strangely, for the first time in so many years, she was excited for Christmas.
                                         Christmas Day
    It had been years since Rin had been to Disneyland. Or at least, it should have been years since then.
As Rin took in the view of the arc as they entered, the turnstiles and the crowds, it felt like just yesterday. Maybe because the view in Disneyland was timeless. The crowds and the families and the Christmas decorations never changed.
Suddenly, she saw her parents among the crowds and she could imagine them holding her hand and pulling her through the crowds. She was five years old again.
Back then she was happy. Back then, Christmas was magical. Back then, she was looking forward to going home that night and waking up to presents from Santa Claus.
The stark contrast then to what she had at present, the realization that everything had all been a lie, only left a horribly bitter taste in her mouth.
Every face she saw, every child, every parent was smiling. Every smile was warm. And Rin was wondering again what had gone wrong. She looked to Haru, hoping at least to see a warm smile there.
His face was blank. Maybe he was spacing out as they were navigating the crowd. She couldn’t help but be a little disappointed though.
“Where to first?” He asked. As they finally got past the turnstiles and into the crowd.
“You invited me.” I thought you’d be planning it. Rin had hoped he’d read that part with the look she gave him. He seemed unperturbed though.
“Okay, let’s see what looks fun.” He grabbed a guide from the nook on the side and looked through it. “This is my first time here. You’ve been here before right?”
“Maybe.” A long time ago. In another life.
After some walking, they arrived at a point in the park which looked like what could have been an old Western City. The buildings were streaked with colors of Christmas and it was when Rin looked closer did she see they were Christmas lights on green pines. She let herself look a little at it a longer, and a little more carefully. The pine gave an unnatural glint, if one looked closely enough to see it.
They were fake. Probably plastic. She’d been living a fake life for more than half her life. She continued to live completely aware that everything else could be fake The home she was enjoying in Kagura’s home could have been fake. Haru taking her out to Disneyland could have been another stage play.
Everything around her from the Christmas lights and the pine trees and the giant tree that illuminated the darker part of the semi-indoor Christmas town, although breathtaking was definitely fake.
Compared to years ago, Rin was not amazed. In fact, it was frustrating to see something so beautiful yet so blatantly staged.
“You wanna go on a ride?” Haru suggested. “The tower of terror is pretty popular apparently.”
They followed the map to the location of the ride. It wasn’t too hard. The tower stuck out amongst all the other buildings and they only had to follow its general direction to get a feel of where it was. They followed a few more paths, keeping an eye on the tower above.
Eventually, they were near enough to have to look up at it. Rin’s stomach dropped as she bent her head back to see how high the tower really went. She could hear the screams from the inside and the excited chatter from the long line that spilled far out of the entrance. They didn’t help at all.
In fact they only amplified that tingling sensation on her back. Within seconds, it was as if her scars were burning. Somehow, she was lying again on the ground, looking up at the sky, Akito looking down at her from his spot on the window.
“Let’s...get out of here.” Rin managed to say.
“Rin, you okay?”
Rin had felt it many times before. Terror would manifest itself as a million fingers grabbing at her, wrapping himself around her and suddenly she’d be unable to breath. She used to fight them. Something inside her though, still had a weak grip on reality and Rin was at least aware enough of the arm wrapping around her, and the benevolent intentions behind it.
“Let’s get you somewhere quiet.”
Rin knew if at that moment she gave her body any more power, maybe she would have fought against the gentle arm running around her. Maybe she would have kicked or elbowed him from behind, the way she had wanted to when Akito did the same things.
It took more than enough effort but she managed to stop herself, channeling the fear and terror inside her and allowing it to manifest itself as time frozen, as the world going black.
For Rin, time stood still, except for the arms wrapped around her. She let them take her where she needed to go.
                                       Christmas Day
“That was a stupid thing to suggest.. I’m sorry.”
To the average person, Haru’s voice would have sounded emotionless with no shred of guilt. Rin only had to look up at his gaze, to see that the guilt was there and the acknowledgement of his mistake.
“No it wasn’t… We wasted a good five hours of park time cause I just couldn’t get myself together,” Rin commented as she cut up the jelly they had ordered into smaller pieces. It was a simple exercise that was at least helping her clear her mind.
“The tickets were free. If you’re not up to it, we can leave now and just go somewhere else.”
“What are you suggesting?” Rin took one small bite of jelly.
“Maybe a mall? Or just the park? They have a Christmas Market in Hibiya.”
“They’re all crowded. It won’t make a difference.”
“Then maybe we can go back to the main house.”
Rin shook her head. “We’re already here. You got some free tickets. Might as well enjoy it.”
That last part was for herself. They were sitting in a relatively peaceful part of the park. The attractions around that area were geared towards children and Rin couldn’t help but note that compared to the area where the Tower of Terror was, the faces around her were a little more laid back. There were a lot more families with children and a few couples among them.
There was less hustle and competition among them to be first in line. The smiles were at least more relaxed. Many of the children were running freely, their parents following behind them. Even when frazzled, the parents looked happy. And the children, who looked back at their parents gesturing for them to follow, looked carefree.
Must be nice. How long had it been since Rin had smiled like that at her parents? She found herself even questioning her own emotions and her own experiences. And as she thought back to the same face her parents made, and the same way they had chased her through the park more than a decade ago, Rin realized one important thing.
“I’ve been here before.”
“I was sure your parents have taken you here before. Back when were kids, they never stopped bragging about your happy family vacations over Soma family dinners.”
Of course Haru would have remembered more than him. The shock at realizing that everything had all been part of an act, that every happy memory as a child had all been a lie had all been  part of some large production, made it difficult for Rin to recall them at will.
Lies were things that simply didn't exist in reality. How could she grasp for something that never existed as something beyond an act or a lie?
The memories were still somehow vague but they were enough to rouse a little curiosity within her.
“Let’s go on a ride?”
“What are you thinking?”
Rin only had to point ahead for Haru to understand. The building was hidden behind trees from their angle. The bright colors of the castle stuck out. That was also the only ride within their field of vision.
Rin had to pick at her head to remember what exactly went on inside the ride. The cartoony Eiffel tower and the clock tower in odd and exquisite yet unrealistic shades were all too familiar. As a child, they had reminded her and even hinted to possibly a world beyond her own, complementing the many fairy tales and folk tales she had heard as a child. That part of her memory was at least what made the view in front of her as they closed in on the ride, all the more familiar.
As they got nearer and Rin let the trauma-hardened cynic within her take over, she started to notice the unnatural glint of cement and cheap paint, as the afternoon sunlight shined on it. Somehow, it had become comforting to know that even in that magical place, there were still some things that were bogus. That no one was exempt from stage plays and productions in life.
She didn’t know how long they were in line. She had occupied herself though flitting between her child self and her present self. Allowing herself to enjoy the mixture of colors and the fantastical artwork and then taking note of any indication of its artificiality when she found herself becoming envious of the children who haven’t yet lost the wonder in their eyes.
Haru was silent. At the least they were both comfortably silent.
When they had gotten nearer to the front of the line, that was when she started to remember further, what had made the artworks stick out a little longer.
There is just one moon and one golden sun and a smile means friendship to everyone.
Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide...
It’s a small world after all. Rin found herself humming the characteristic chorus even preempting the actual music.
For a while she was smiling. For a while, she was enjoying it. It at least lasted until they secured a seat inside the small boat. The combination of the music and the carefree atmosphere as children rushed to the fronts screaming and laughing, made it all the easier for Rin to pretend that one of them was the Rin from ten years ago.
The cacophony of music and laugher and the bombardment of bright colors and lights made it difficult for Rin to feel the lump on her throat and the heaviness in her chest as the boat moved through it.
For a second though, everything was black. It could have been less than a split second, maybe an interval before the scenery changed. It was enough for the lump in her throat to make itself known, and the heaviness in her chest to push a little further. And even as the lights came up again and the scenery changed from fantastical Europe to a rendition of what looked like Arabian nights. Magical Carpets. Asian towers and what could have been a Jungle Book Puppet.
They were as beautiful as the last area. Rin had to note. The lump and the heaviness had taken over though and before Rin could even stop it, she felt a tear slide down her cheek.
The careful and intricate combinations of music and dancing puppets had created a beautiful experience for her as a child. Enough for her to recall the details decades later, everything all the way until the arm around her and the soft voice from her mother.
Stay nearer to the middle Rin, we don’t want you falling out.
Was it all a lie? Was her mother’s concern then a lie? The music was coming from some speakers. The puppets were just carefully choreographed and carefully programmed to make it look magical to a child. If Rin looked at them one by one though, she could see that the movements were too mechanical and repetitive.
Just like her own parents.
Rin had enough control of herself at least to guide herself out of the ride and to navigate among the crowds going out through the exit without bumping into any man. Haru could have been helping her then but at that moment she didn’t care.
She just wanted to get out.
“I’m not going back here again,” Rin said. “It’s fucking fake. Everything in this park is fucking fake.”
Once again, Haru and Rin were on a bench in the middle of the park. Rin was on her second cup of jelly. She appreciated the fact that the jelly and the burst of sweetness that came when it melted on her mouth wasn’t fake at least.
“Of course they are. They’re all man made attractions. If you wanted something real, we could have gone to a safari.”
“Then why do people like it so much?” Why did I enjoy it so much then? Once again, she was envious of the children passing by and the child within her for being able to enjoy something so artificial. Rin swirled the jelly in the cup in anger, completely transforming it into something which resembled pudding and water more than jelly.
“I don’t think people like the rides for the rides or the buildings for the buildings. It’s the atmosphere which makes it something worthwhile. I had fun today. I don’t think I would have had as much fun if I were alone though.”
Rin felt the blood rush into her face and she found herself mixing the jelly in the cup a little quicker, regretting it a second later as it started to feel more like water than jelly.
“It’s getting dark.”
Rin should have noticed the way the bright colors around the park were a little dimmer. She had been too focused on her own memories than what was there in front of her. And as the sky above her gradually shifted from shades of red to purple, Rin had to note that it was an unfamiliar site, particularly the way the colors around her adjusted to the new lighting as the street lights around the park started to light up.
The sun would set at late afternoon during winter. Her parents had always brought her out of the park as soon as the sun started to make its way below the horizon, even before the sky turned a bright orange.
It was a new scenery and with no memory to grab on to, Rin found herself looking at Haru next to her. He was quiet. It wasn’t anything too unusual. A feeling of guilt still washed over Rin as she realized she had spent the whole day focusing on herself and on the memories the park had brought her. She had spent her hours in the park, on the memories of her parents when there was someone next to her, who she could have at least enjoyed it with.
“Hey, before we go home, there’s something I wanna check out.”
Rin did not protest. She followed silently behind him as they made their way through the park. Her legs were aching already from the long walks and she was a little hungry, having only eaten two cups of jelly the whole day. She was starting to feel ashamed of herself and she knew she owed Haru at least that much.
By the time Haru had stopped, the sky was already dark, and the source of the illumination and colors around the park came from the streetlights around them.
They were in an area with bleachers and in front of them was a large body of water that stretched out in both directions.
“A lights show. I just thought it would look cool.” He waved the flier in front of her. “You’ve been to one before?”
Rin shook her head. She had been to Disneyland multiple times, but had never stayed late enough to see it at night.
The streets illuminated by a combination of the street lights and the Christmas lights on the way to the bleachers had been something new to her. As Rin watched as the water shot out of the ground in rhythm to the orchestra music playing in the background and as the colors scattered into different shades of the rainbow from a solid blue, Rin was sure, she had never seen something like that in her life.
The view of Disneyland at night was something completely new to her. It was new. It was exciting. She didn’t even notice the shallow breath she head let out in amazement as smoke appeared from somewhere mixing into the teal and the blue, a rendition very similar to that of the Northern Lights.
There was no unnatural glint of plastic to pick out. No individual movement to analyze. In fact, she didn’t even attempt to, for the first time, she was completely entranced by the performance in front of her.
It was a production, a play, just like the one her parents had made her watch for so many years. Somehow, the colors and the lights looked too authentic.
As it ended, she found herself just sitting, wishing it hadn’t ended, praying for an encore even as the people in front of her started to file out and a voice from some speakers were reminding people to watch their steps as they made their way out.
“You don’t wanna leave yet?” It was Haru’s voice that finally made her accept that the performance was done.
She had a short bout of laughter.  It was an involuntary motion, an instinctive reaction to the situation in front of her. It could have possibly been directed at  her own inability to process that it was over. As she looked at Haru though, she suddenly felt the need give a hard squeeze the hand that was on top of her for a large part of the spectacle.
“It was amazing.” Rin had wanted to say more but found herself at a loss for words. In the end everything from her head spinning in excitement, the blood rushing through her face and what could have been tears of joy or excitement creeping up at the corners of her eyes all culminated into one phrase. “Thank you.”
“It’s my first time seeing you this amazed,” He commented. “So, I guess you felt the magic?”
Felt the magic. It was a joke. An allusion to the introductory lines of the spectacle.
“Yeah I felt it.” As ridiculous as the word play was, Rin found herself playing along.
“Places are fun because of the people there,” Haru said. “I know your past memories in Disneyland are complete horseshit now. But it doesn’t have to be horseshit every single time.”
Rin felt a slight tingle of what could have been a mixture of excitement or assurance that spidered through her whole body. She traced the origins back to her hand he had squeezed in return.
“I’m not your parents Rin,” Haru continued. “Unlike them, I’m not putting up any lies in front of you. I had a lot of fun today.”
Rin had been betrayed enough to know what lies look like, how to pick out an overly rehearsed smile, the mechanics of rehearsed movements and glint. It only followed that she could pick out an absence of it.
Haru’s eyes were looking right at her, the smile a little too small, a little too hesitant to have been something he had rehearsed for a long time before that day.
In fact, he rarely thought his movements and his actions through. Maybe that’s why she had always trusted him. He never rehearsed, he never contemplated the next course of action. His decisions, his actions and words were usually too impulsive and too natural given circumstances to have been rehearsed.
His next few words would probably have been considered awkward to any other woman. Maybe a little too immature. Rin found herself opening up a little more, allowing herself to smile a little a little wider and to lean closer and onto his shoulder.
Her parents were the last thing on her mind. The young Rin and the magic of her experience in that park were a distant memory, all upstaged by the echoes of Haru’s words as they watched the dark stage in front of them in silence.
Let’s make new memories together.
Missed Opportunities and a Happy Ending.
 I’m new to writing for these characters and I’ve only ever watched the anime. I don’t know much about the manga except for whatever is already confirmed, and floating around on here and on twitter. So if they seem OOC, I'm sorry. Also, I love Toru Oikawa with all my being. He’s my favorite from the anime. The little drama that happens between Y/N and Oikawa is just to add spice to the story, ok.
 Warnings: a meddling Oikawa. Rooster head and the owl jumping on the meddling train too.
 “R/C/N” Rugby Captain’s Name. (I didn’t know what name to give him.)
  “Y/F/N” Your friend’s name (Friend 1/2/3)
 Hajime Iwaizumi x Y/N
Tumblr media
  “Ugh,” Oikawa groaned, closing his eyes and shifting his head from side to side to relieve the tension in his neck. “We don’t have any games until next season but we still have a lot to improve.” Oikawa said as he continued walking. It was only when he didn’t get a response from his best friend that he opened his eyes. “Iwa?” He turned to look behind him.
  Oikawa saw his best friend looking out towards the field. The cheerleaders were out there practicing later than usual, while the rugby team was gathering up the equipment they had used. Iwaizumi never had an interest in rugby so Oikawa knew there was one particular cheerleader he was staring at.
 Oikawa smirked to himself and went to stand by his best friend. “You’ve been crushing on her for the past year and a half, when are you going to ask her out?”
 “What are you talking about?” Iwaizumi muttered, walking again.
 “It’s not like you’re strangers. We’ve known her since middle school. I’m sure if you ask her out, she’ll say yes.” Oikawa continued, following after him.
 “It’s because I’ve known her since middle school that I don’t ask her out. I know I’m not her type.”
 Oikawa laughed at that. “You’re so helpless.”
 “You’re one to talk. Your girlfriend dumped you after a month.” Iwaizumi scoffed.
 “And I still have no idea what I did wrong.” Oikawa sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. There was a short pause. “Listen, Iwa, I know all those years of girls using you to get to me have shattered your confidence when it comes to dating-”
 “Do you want to get your ass kicked right now?” Iwaizumi practically yells.
 “I was actually going to give genuine advice.” Oikawa frowns. Iwaizumi calmed down and allowed Oikawa to continue. “Y/N is not like that. She really likes you. And I can prove it.” Iwaizumi stood there as Oikawa ran towards the entrance of the field and called out her name as loud as he could.
 “What are you doing?!” Iwaizumi chased after him. He stopped next to Oikawa who was still smiling and waving like an idiot at her until she noticed them. He could see her more clearly now but she was still far away. Iwaizumi saw the grin on her face when she spotted the pair and waved back. Thinking this was it to Oikawa’s plan, Iwa waved back. “Great,” he remarked sarcastically, “she waved at us. Now let's go.” He shoved him.
 “Five minutes!” Y/N yelled back, while holding up her hand. Without a word, Oikawa grabbed Iwa by the back of his jacket and led him towards the bleachers.
“What the hell are you doing? This isn’t funny.” Iwaizumi still followed and sat down on the bleacher.
 “It’s getting late. We can’t let her walk home alone.” Oikawa calmly explained. “Well at least I’m not going to let her.” He looked at Iwaizumi from the corner of his eye to look at his reaction. Iwaizumi’s brow furrowed. He visibly relaxed, silently agreeing with Oikawa.
 If Iwa wasn’t going to take direct advice from him, then he was just going to take matters into his own hands and give him one big shove. He was going to get Y/N and Iwaizumi together, no matter what. For a price, of course.
 Oikawa looked forward again, “you know,” he began, “Y/N really does look cute in that uniform. I wonder how good she’d look in one of our volleyball jerseys.”
 Iwaizumi’s face flushed red. First from the thought of her in his jersey, then jealousy from Oikawa’s comment before that. “You shit head!” He yelled lunging at his friend.
 “I was just kidding!” Oikawa screamed, holding his arms out to keep Iwaizumi at a distance.
 “You goofballs.” Someone laughed. Iwaizumi slowly turned to look over his shoulder. There she was looking down at them with one hand on her hip and in her uniform. Oikawa was right. She did look good in that uniform. But now the image of her in his jersey was something he wanted to make a reality. “Thanks for waiting.” She smiled, ignoring the fact they were just fighting seconds ago.
 “Absolutely.” Oikawa beamed, pushing the dumbfounded Iwaizumi off of him. “What kind of friends would we be if we let you walk home alone.” Oikawa walked around his best friend, throwing an arm over her shoulder and giving her his signature smile. “Cutie.” He booped her nose.
 Y/N laughed at that and softly shook her head, allowing Oikawa to lead the way. Iwaizumi stood up and dusted himself off. Out of all the crazy things Oikawa’s been doing lately, this was the craziest. Oikawa was always the center of attention of the two when it came to girls. It was easy for him to get a girl to swoon over him with just a smile.
 “Iwa-chan~.” He called over his shoulder, “aren’t you coming? I know it sucks being the third wheel but we can’t leave you behind either.”
 “Why you little.” he growled, gripping his bag, ready to throw it right at his friend’s head.
 Y/N removed Oikawa’s arm from around her shoulder, “You’re always picking on him, Toru!” She softly punched his side. Oikawa looked down at her surprised, but then laughed it off, rubbing where she had hit him. “How would you like it if we,” she grabbed Iwaizumi’s arm and pulled him closer to her, “made you feel like the third wheel?”
 Iwaizumi’s eyes darted down to where her arms were wrapped around his. She was always grabbing on to him, leaning on him or touching him in any kind of way, so he was used to it. But for some reason, this particular action followed by her words made him feel all warm inside. “Let’s go.” Iwaizumi’s feet started moving as she pulled him along.
 Oikawa sneakily winked at Iwaizumi when his friend walked ahead of him. “I didn’t mean it. Please come back.” Oikawa begged. By the look on his face though, he wasn’t much too worried about it. In fact, he looked like he had accomplished a difficult feat.
What the hell is he planning? Iwaizumi thought.
 “Who the hell are you kidding?” Y/N looked over her shoulder at him, laughing. “Come on, dork. I don’t want to get home too late.” She stopped and waited for Oikawa to catch up and then proceeded to walk again once he did. “Practice kick your ass, too?” She sighs, resting her face on Iwaizumi’s bicep.
 He looked down at her with a small smirk. “No more than usual.” Iwaizumi said and softly ruffled the top of her head.
Boy, he bounces back fast. Oikawa thought to himself.
 Oikawa trekked along behind them, silently. This was his way of proving his point to Iwaizumi. The next phase of his plan was coming. He just needed to wait until the right moment.
 Y/N looked up and smiled at Iwaizumi as he talked to her about whatever it was; Oikawa didn’t care much to pay attention. Maybe it was his jealousy or the joy he got from watching his friends and how good they looked together.
 Iwaizumi tilted his head and smiled down at her; but not any regular smile. This one was different, and Oikawa could just tell. Unintentionally, Oikawa pouted and turned his face to the side to look away.
 Jealousy. It was definitely jealousy. But this was for his best friend after all. One day of being excluded wasn’t going to kill him.
“I’ll catch you guys tomorrow.” Oikawa announces, walking in the opposite direction when they reached an intersection.
“Where are you going? The subway is this way.” Iwaizumi stopped and turned to yell at him.
 Oikawa smiled to himself and proceeded to walk, “I forgot I have plans with someone.” He lied. “Bye~.” He waved at them without turning back.
 “He’s such a liar.” Y/N giggled. “Better get him home before he gets lost.” She tried to hold back her yawn, but failed. Iwaizumi looked down at her. Even though she had told him to go after Toru, she was still holding on to his arm. He softly pat the top of her head and held her closer to him.
“Let’s get you home first. It’s getting late.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 “How did it go? Did you finally ask her out?” Oikawa asked with a huge smile on his face when he sat down at their usual lunch table.
 “You asshole. I knew you ditched us on purpose!” He reached over, gripping Oikawa’s shirt collar. Oikawa rolled his eyes and removed Iwaizumi’s grip on his school uniform. Iwaizumi took a minute to cool down before answering Oikawa’s question. “I was going to,” he admitted, “but I didn’t.”
 “After I set it up for you? Are you kidding me?” Oikawa couldn’t help but be offended.
 “It wasn’t my fault.” Iwaizumi argued. “That jerk from the rugby team was outside her house waiting for her.”
“So?”
“What do you mean ‘so’?” Irritation evident in his voice and face now.  “He was supposed to drive her home after practice. He even had her bags.”
 Oikawa dramatically sighed, “You’re missing the point, Iwa. Who cares if he was supposed to drive her home. She chose to walk home with you.”
“She didn’t have a choice. We ambushed her after practice and you lied about having other plans. She had no other choice but to walk with me.” Iwaizumi internally cringed. The way he said it, he was obviously trying to convince himself of that fact. Obviously Oikawa would notice his blatant lie.
 Oikawa shook his head at his best friend in pure disappointment. Iwa rolled his eyes and continued to eat his lunch. “Scaredy cat.” Oikawa muttered under his breath. He got up from the table with his food and left. Iwazumi growled under his breath, his grip on his utensils tightening. He didn’t want to admit it, but Oikawa was right.
 She had no interest in the captain of the rugby team. The entire time she spoke with him, she never let go of Iwaizumi. She politely thanked him and sent him on his way. But Iwaizumi’s fear of rejection got the better of him. Even after seeing her smile falter when all he did was say good night, he couldn’t work the courage back up.
“Maybe we can make this a daily routine.” She had said to him. “You’re really comfortable to sleep on on the subway.” She laughed. Iwaizumi’s right shoulder suddenly felt heavy as he remembered the memory.
She sat down close to him, her leg touching his. He had pulled out a book to read just to pass time, since she was so tired, and Y/N rested her head on his shoulder. At first he thought she was reading along with him. But in the reflection of the window he could see her eyes were shut. She had used his shoulder as a pillow and Iwaizumu loved the sight of it. Just her, snuggled up close to him, and resting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The following two weeks Oikawa didn’t bring the subject up again. But the two of them continued to walk her home after practice. Oikawa, making up little reasons to leave them alone every now and again. And each time, Iwaizumi chickened out when he was about to ask her out.
 Her arm would brush against his, or her hand against his, and she would drift closer to Iwa as they walked together, just the two of them. He wanted so badly to hold her hand or pull her in closer to him but he was too embarrassed, so he didn’t. Instead, he offered to carry her bags. If he had his hands full then he wouldn’t feel so much like an idiot (scaredy cat).
 Today wasn’t supposed to be any different. They were going to meet her by the lockers and walk her home. That was the plan. Just like all the other days. But she didn’t go back to the locker room after practice. She wasn’t even on the field either.
Iwaizumi pulled out his cellphone ready to call her, when he heard her laugh coming from ahead. He looked up and saw her, sitting on a motorcycle and the captain of the rugby team standing in front of her, laughing as well.
“Well, that’s unexpected.” Oikawa said under his breath. He glanced over at Iwaizumi and noticed how he made himself look taller and balled his hands into fists. “Violence doesn't look good on you, Iwa.” he smirked. Iwaizumi didn’t respond but he did react. He took in a few calming breaths and relaxed his hands. “Y/N.” Oikawa smiled.
“Hey,” She smiled at Iwaizumi first then at Oikawa. Iwaizumi’s jealousy and anger diminished when he saw her smile. “You remember, R/C/N, right?”
 R/C/N extended his hand out to greet the other boys. Iwaizumi squeezed the rugby captain’s hand, harder than he normally did when greeting someone, “What’s up, man.” R/C/N returned the smile and pulled his hand back. “We good?” He looked at Y/N.
 “We’re fine.” She answered. “I’ll see you at the game tomorrow.” She told the other boy. He only nodded and watched as the trio walked away. Iwazumi’s jealousy got the best of him and he couldn’t stop himself from asking what happened while grabbing her gym bag from her. “Nothing, really. Both of our practices were cancelled.” She replied. “It was just a coincidence we were both waiting.” She walked in between them.
“Waiting?” He asked.
“He’s waiting for his girlfriend.” She replies. “And since we’ve been walking home together,” he nudged the two boys with her elbows, “I thought why not wait with him.” She shrugged.
 Iwaizumi began feeling a mixture of emotions. He was happy that she had waited for them but he was still jealous that she had been waiting with R/C/N the entire time. And he was feeling a little embarrassed as well. He knows she doesn’t like R/C/N in that way and there was no need for him to almost break his hand. Although R/C/N didn’t seem to be fazed by it.
 “It’s been a long day.” She stretched her arms up in the air and let out a short yawn. Iwaizumi was prepared for her to cling on to his arm to rest her head. But instead of grabbing his arm, she grabbed Oikawa’s. Oikawa looked down at her, completely shocked.
 Iwaizumi was unsure how to react. Should he be mad at Oikawa even though he didn’t do anything? Did he really wait too long to ask her out and now she was into Oikawa? None of the answers to those questions satisfied Iwaizumi.
 Oikawa, taking advantage of the situation, smiled and slowly reached over to pat her head. Iwaizumi caught the movement from the corner of his eye and caught his wrist mid-air to stop him. Y/N’s head turned to the side to look at Iwaizumi, Oikawa snatching his arm back before she could notice.
 “Is it heavy?” She asks. Iwaizumi stared at her, confused. “My bag.” She pointed down at it. He looked down to where she was pointing and quickly realized he had unintentionally hit her with her own bag when he grabbed Oikawa’s wrist. “I kind of snapped the strap on my bookbag.” She laughed softly, as if embarrassed to admit it. “So all of my books and stuff are shoved in there with my gym clothes, too. Maybe I should just carry it. Your shoulders still probably hurt. I’m so sorry, I didn’t even think-” She reached for her gym bag but Iwaizumi stopped her.
“It’s fine. It’s not heavy at all.” He told her. “And my shoulder is fine. It was nothing.” He rolls his shoulder to prove it to her. She gave him a small, thankful smile and leaned against Oikawa again. He glanced down at her gym bag. Iwaizumi couldn’t even tell that it had gotten heavier. Then it dawned on him. Is that why she didn’t lean on him this time? With the weight of the bag and her holding on to him, was she afraid of hurting his shoulder? He didn’t even injure it, it was just sore from the new workout routine. He couldn’t believe she remembered that.
 Iwaizumi smiled to himself. She didn’t lean on Oikawa because she liked him, she just didn’t want to accidentally hurt him. He gently placed his hand on the top of her head, softly ruffling her hair and she turned to look at him with a bright (albeit tired) smile.
 “Do you want us to go with you tomorrow or should we just meet you there?” Oikawa asked, pulling her attention to him.
 “I’ll see you over there.” She replied. “I told Y/F/N I would help her get ready.”
 “What’s happening tomorrow?” Iwaizumi asked. Oikawa and Y/N stopped in their tracks. “What?” He asked, stopping as well.
“The first rugby match of the season is tomorrow.” Y/N replied, offended. “You said you were gonna go. How could you forget?”
“Seriously, Iwa. She’s been talking about it nonstop. She helped come up with the new routine that she’s so excited for us to watch.” Oikawa joined in.
“I didn’t forget.” Iwa defended himself.
Y/N looked up at Oikawa. “Drag him there if you have to.” She tells him.
“I plan to.” Oikawa smiled, mischievously.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Iwaizumi and Oikawa took their seats on the bleachers. Luckily, for Oikawa he didn’t have to drag Iwa. He was ready to go and standing outside Oikawa’s place before he even called him.
Oikawa made sure they had gotten there early, so they could get the best seats. Front and center. Iwaizumi looked around. The bleachers were practically entirely empty, save for a few of the parents and some students from the photography club.
 “It’s still early.” Oikawa told him. “There should be more people coming,” a mischievous smirk slowly appeared on Oikawa’s lips, “I hear most of the spectators are boys from other schools who only come to these games to watch the cheerleaders.” Iwaizumi slowly turned his head, deadly eyes staring right at Oikawa. Oikawa gulped, “Ok, Iwa-chan. No more jokes.” He waved his hands in surrender.
 As time passed, Iwaizumi noticed what Oikawa had said was true. More people had shown up, mostly students and families from their school. They all sat together and the visiting school’s family and friends sat in the bleachers on the opposite side of the field.
 It was definitely a bigger audience than they had at their own games. The little green monster within Iwaizumi was starting to reveal itself. All these people were going to see you perform in the cheerleading outfit he loved so much.
He groaned to himself, rubbing his face with his hands. Don’t be jealous, you idiot. He thought to himself. You don’t even have the guts to ask her out.
“Hey hey hey!” “Oika’a!”
 Iwaizumi dragged his hands down his face. He should’ve seen this coming. Oikawa meddling, practically pushing him to ask Y/N out was one thing. He could handle that. But Oikawa plus Bokuto and Kuroo - he was going to explode.
Kuroo sat down on the other side of Iwaizumi. He put an arm over his shoulders and smiled smugly at him, “Hey, Hajime. Excited to watch the game?”
“Game?” Bokuto asked. “I thought we were here to-” Oikawa covered Bokuto’s mouth before he could finish that sentence.
 “Not even trying to be discreet about it, huh?” Iwa looked over at Kuroo, slightly irritated. “I hope Kenma gave you an earful about how shitty you’re all being.”
 “No clue what you’re talking about.” Kuroo removed his arm from Iwa and looked out towards the field. “Just here to watch a good game of rugby.”
 “You don’t even want to know what Akaashi said.” Bokuto laughed and sat on the other side of Kuroo.
 Oikawa avoided making eye contact with Iwaizumi. Smart idea. Iwaizumi seemed to be collected on the outside but he was practically fuming on the inside. The announcer’s voice came on the speaker as they introduced the two teams, the captains, the coaches and the start of the game.
 Iwaizumi was focused on the game, allowing himself to calm down and ultimately forgetting about Oikawa, Bokuto and Kuroo. For a while.
 Cheers came from one side of the bleachers and the cheerleading team came out running onto the track, waving their pom poms in the air. Y/N was the sixth in the line. She stopped right in front of Iwaizumi, where she felt she could see him the best and smiled up at him. He blushed slightly. With all the people around him, her eyes were only on him.
“Y/N!” Oikawa yelled. Suddenly, him, Kuroo, and Bokuto jumped up and lifted their shirts up to reveal their abs. On their bodies they had each written a word to make out, We love Y/N.
He’s gonna die. I’m going to kill him. Was written all over Iwaizumi’s face.
 Y/N’s eyes widened and her mouth hung open, slightly. A nudge from the girl next to her and she was brought back to reality. She waved at the boys, forcing her embarrassed smile to look more genuine. She didn’t look in their direction again after that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The game was over in an instant; Aoba Johsai winning by a landslide. The four boys were waiting for Y/N by the gate. Iwaizumi was a little relieved with the fact that the three assholes haven’t tried anything after their fiasco. And now that the game was over, he wasn’t going to have to deal with any of their nonsense from here on out. At least that’s what he could’ve hoped for.
 Y/N walked up to them along with three other girls, who were (kind of) hiding behind her. She was wearing casual clothes now. A sight Iwaizumi rarely saw. He could feel his heart leap in his chest. She looked beautiful.
“Hey guys.” She smiled, but it was small and it was gone in a flash. “These are my friends. F/1, F/2 and F/3. This is Hajime, Toru, Kuroo, and Kotaro.” She pointed at each of the boys when she introduced them. The girls blushed when they shyly greeted the boys.
“Y/N,” Bokuto smiled, “That routine was great.” He complimented.
“You really killed it out there.” Kuroo added. “You all did.” He smiled at Y/N’s friends.
“I’m surprised she was able to concentrate after what you did.” F/1 laughed. “If I had my own fans like all of you I most likely would’ve botched.”
“Seriously, Y/N. You’re so lucky you have the hottest guys in the prefecture cheering you on.” F/3 added with a wink.
 Y/N scratched the back of her head, politely smiling. “Yeah.. lucky me.” She replied. But to Iwaizumi it was obvious she did not feel that way. “Anyway, should we get going? I’m starving.” Y/N’s friends followed after the three boys and Y/N stayed behind to walk alongside Iwaizumi.
There was something off about her. She kept her gaze down and she was holding her hands in front of her. She even maintained the space between her and Iwaizumi. He could tell something was wrong. “Do you want to go somewhere else? To eat?” She didn’t even look at him when she asked.
 Iwa didn’t fully process the reason for her question, before saying, “No. It’s ok. I’m not that hungry.”
 Y/N mouthed a small ‘oh’.
 They continued walking behind the others in silence for a while. “I’m glad they were able to join us last minute,” she said about her friends. “I didn’t know Kuroo and Kotaro were coming.”
 “It was a shock to me, too.” Iwaizumi grumbled. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, anger rising inside him again.
 Oikawa looked over his shoulder and Iwaizumi could swear he had just glared at him. Oikawa stopped walking and turned around while the others kept walking on ahead. When Iwaizumi and Y/N were close enough, Oikawa smiled. “You’re not mad at us, are you, Y/N?” He lowered himself so he could be eye level with her. She slowly lifted her head, glaring at him.
 Y/N had no words. She only slapped Oikawa across the face. Even though she was angry at him, she couldn’t bring herself to slap him full force. But she made sure it hurt. “You idiot. That was so embarrassing!”
 He stepped back, his smile now gone, unexpecting that kind of reaction from her. Iwaizumi looked on as well. She was biting her lip and fighting hard to keep herself from crying. Too dumb to realize why it was embarrassing, Y/N reached into her gym bag, grabbing a fistful of folded up and crumpled paper along with other things and slapped them onto Oikawa’s hand. “Most of these were given to me in person. Some of them were sent to be given to me.”
 Oikawa looked at the notes in his hands. Iwaizumi grabbed a few and looked at them as well. They had phone numbers along with names written on them. Some even added notes, like ‘call me’, ‘you’re hot’, and ‘let’s have a good time.’
 “I’m going home.” Y/N’s words made him look at her. She wasn’t staring at either of them. “I’ll see you guys later.” She walked around Oikawa.
 Oikawa wanted to go after her and apologize. He didn’t mean for that to happen, he just wanted Iwaizumi to grow his balls back. When he turned, Iwaizumi grabbed the back of his shirt and yanked him back to stop him.
“You’ve done enough.” He told him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Iwaizumi couldn’t go to sleep without knowing if she was going to be ok or not. After teaching Oikawa a lesson, he made his way to her house. He had texted her to make sure it was alright and she told him to let himself in.
 He opened her bedroom door to find her lying down, wrapped in her blanket like a burrito. He stripped himself of his jacket and sat down behind her. He wanted to come make sure she was ok but he couldn’t even open his mouth to ask.
 “I’m such an asshole!” She broke the silence, startling Iwaizumi. He took a second to process her words.
 “Huh?!” He rolled her so she was facing him. “Why are you an asshole?!” She didn’t do anything wrong, at least not that he’s seen.
 “I slapped Toru really hard.” She pouted. He looked at her in disbelief. Was she really upset because she slapped Oikawa and not because of what he did? “I didn’t mean it.” She continued. “It’s not like it was his fault. He didn’t know. This is all my fault,” she turned away from Iwa, “I should’ve just kept my mouth shut.”
 “Hold on,” Iwaizumi pulled her to turn her his way again, “Toru got what he deserved. And what do you mean it’s your fault? Kept your mouth shut about what?”
 Y/N unraveled herself out of the blanket and sat up. “If I tell you, will you promise not to laugh? Or think I’m weird or anything crazy like that?” Iwaizumi nodded.
“Ok, well,” she looked down at her hands, nervously, “there was this guy on the team. He kept asking me out and I turned him down each time but he just wasn’t getting the picture. Just to get him off my back, R/C/N agreed to drive me home after practice that day and just pretend to like me or whatever. This was before him and his girlfriend were official. But then you and Toru showed up and walked me home and then R/C/N showed up at my house the same night and he thought it would be a better idea if he were to just tell the other guy that he saw you walking me home and it’s better for him to just back off and leave me alone, right? So he really believed we were dating, and then that news spread and a lot of the other students believed it too. And I don’t know, I just really loved the fact that everyone believed that you were my boyfriend and I didn’t want them to think otherwise so I didn’t say anything. But then those idiots went off and pulled off that stunt and everyone thought you broke up with me and I was just trying to make you jealous. Rebound..y’know.”
She had spat everything out so fast, Iwaizumi was still hearing her words long after she had stopped talking.
“And I just really loved the fact everyone believed you were my boyfriend.” She really loved that? He was so scared of getting rejected and this whole time she accepted him as a boyfriend. A pretend one, but still.
 She was staring at him. Waiting for his reaction. Waiting for his words. Waiting for something but he remained still and quiet. Taking that as a bad sign, Y/N’s face had gone from nervous to full blown mortified.
“Oh my Gosh! That was so stupid of me.” She brought her hands up to cover her face, shying away from Iwaizumi. “I would understand if you don’t want anything to do with me anymore. It was stupid of me to do that.” She said into her hands.
“Are you serious?” Iwaizumi grabbed her wrists, bringing her hands down from her face. She closed her eyes and turned away from him. “I was too scared to ask you out and this whole time we’ve been dating?” Y/N whipped her head to stare at him. He wasn’t mad, he wasn’t looking at her like she was crazy, he wasn’t even embarrassed either. He was looking at her with wide eyes, like he was surprised. “Will you take me back?”
 Y/N tilted her in confusion, but she couldn’t hold back her sudden laughter. Iwaizumi laughed along with her. He couldn’t tell if it was a joyous laughter or one of relief but he was just happy that he was able to make her feel better and confess to her at the same time.
“I was expecting something more extravagant but, yeah, I guess i’ll take you back.” Her laughter slowly dying down.
 “I’m serious. I want to do this right.”
“Hajime,” she sighs, gently pulling him to lay down with her and wrapped her arms around one of his. “You could paint it all over my face and my answer would still be yes.” A short pause. “I’m not saying you can do it.” She warned him.
 “Don’t tell Oikawa just yet.” Y/N looked up at Iwaizumi for further explanation. “Assholes gotta learn his lesson. He can’t embarrass my girl like that and get away with it. Not yet.”
“Hajime,” she said sternly, lifting herself up to sit up to look down at him. Iwaizumi had his eyes closed and pulled her down gently to lay down again. “What did you do?” She returned to her previous position.
“Nothing too bad.” He ruffled the top of your head. “Just that I wasn’t going to talk to him until he made up with you.” He smirked.
“Hajime Iwaizumi!” She shot up and softly pushed against his chest. He sat up laughing. “That is so mean. He’s probably going through it right now.” She reached over Iwaizumi, for her phone that was on the bedside table behind him. Iwaizumi wrapped his arms around her abdomen and pulled her back and placed her under him.
“What are you doing?” She tried to push him away but he didn’t move.
“Just a couple of days.” he tells her. “He’ll be fine.” He flopped back on to his side of the bed and opened his arms, “you’ve slept on my arm and my shoulder so far.. But right here is more comfortable.”
 Y/N grabbed the blanket pulling it over them as she laid down on Iwaizumi’s chest, snuggling up to him, frowning the whole time. “It is.” She gave in. Iwaizumi wrapped his arms around her, plating a soft kiss on the top of her head.
Weird History Wednesday: UFO Encounters in American History (Part 2)🛸
(feat. my 2 favorite international UFO stories of all time!)
Tumblr media
1. The American Airship Wave (1896-1897) Beginning in California in 1896, sightings of strange ships and lights in the sky began to be reported in unprecedented numbers across the Western United States. Many of the encounters describe hearing singing, voices, or strange noises accompanying the sighting of strange lights or crafts. One account by Colonel H.G. Shaw from Stockton, CA claims while driving his buggy, Shaw came across a strange metallic object rested in a field. He stated that 3 slender figures around 7 ft tall approached his buggy making a ‘strange warbling noise’, and tried to force him back to their craft with them. Despite their size, he was able to fight them off, after which they fled back to their craft and disappeared into the sky.
2. Mantell UFO incident (1948) A little before 2pm on January 7th, 1948, Kentucky Air National Guard pilot Thomas F. Mantell was sent out in a P-51 Mustang Fighter to pursue an unidentified flying object in the vicinity. The only description of the object was that is was circular in shape and around 80-90 meters in diameter. Mantell pursued the object until he encountered an unstable altitude that caused him to spiral downward and crash, resulting in his death. Some have wondered if the object was a military weather balloon, but the object in question has never been definitely identified.
3. The Flatwoods Monster (1952) The Flatwoods monster is an entity reported to have been sighted in the town of Flatwoods in Braxton County, West Virginia, United States, on September 12, 1952, following the appearance of a bright object crossing the night sky. After seeing the strange object seemingly crash land on a neighboring farm, 3 boys went to notify the owners of the farm, and they walked as a group into the property’s woods to investigate. While looking for the object, they describe encountering a humanoid figure approximately 10ft tall, with glowing green eyes, small ‘claw like’ hands, and a head that resemble ‘an ace of spades’. It appeared to glide toward the group making a hissing noise, before the residents dropped their flashlights and fled.
4. The Incident in Aurora, Texas (1897) Another bizarre encounter from the airship ‘wave’ of 1896-1897 happened in Aurora, Texas on April 17, 1897. According to reports, a strange metallic craft reportedly crash landed on local farm after hitting a windmill. After finding the site of the crash, the residents are said to have found metallic debris along with a body described as ‘not of this world’. The farmers, for some reason, decided to dispose of the craft remnants in a well, and buried the strange body on the property with traditional ‘Christian Rites’ as well as a grave marker (which has since been taken down). 5. Allagash Abductions (1976) Brothers Jim Weiner and Jack Weiner were on a camping trip in Allagash, Maine with friends Charles Foltz and Charles Rak when they claimed that they were abducted by aliens on August, 20, 1976. During a hypnosis session, they recalled being taken aboard a circular UFO and being "probed and tested by four-fingered beings with almond-shaped eyes and languid limbs". In a later interview by the St. John Valley Times, Charles Rak changed his story, saying he saw strange lights during the camping trip, but the abduction part of the story was a fabrication. The other three members of the group though stand by the abduction story, saying that “...after all these years, (we) are still in agreement with the Eagle Lake event as we remember it. We also accept the results of the hypnotic regression sessions and subsequent polygraph tests as supportive of an abduction scenario".
6. Nash-Fortenberry UFO sighting (1952) The Nash-Fortenberry UFO incident was an unidentified flying object sighting that occurred on July 14, 1952, when two commercial pilots (William B. Nash and William H. Fortenberry) claimed to have seen eight UFOs flying in a tight arrow formation over Chesapeake Bay. The crafts were described as balls of light flying in an eerily precise manner. The case was listed in the U.S. Air Force's Project Blue Book as an "unknown” and there has still been no credible explanation found for the incident to this day.
7. Japan Airlines Flight 1628 incident (1986) On November, 17, 1986, Japan Airlines Flight 1628 was en route from Paris to Narita International Airport, near Tokyo, with a cargo of Beaujolais wine. While flying over eastern Alaska, the crew witnessed two unidentified objects flying to their left. According to their accounts, the figures abruptly rose from below and closed in seemingly to escort their aircraft as it flew. Each object had two rectangular arrays of what appeared to be glowing nozzles or thrusters, though the bodies of the crafts remained obscured by darkness. When the objects were at their closest, the aircraft's cabin lit up and the captain described being able to feel their heat on his face. When the two craft disappeared, the crew noticed a third, much larger disk-shaped object had began trailing their aircraft. The sighting lasted 50 minutes and ended in the vicinity of Denali National Park, Alaska.
The Stonehenge Incident (1975) The ‘Stonehenge Incident’ or the ‘North Hudson Park UFO sightings’ occurred on January 12, 1975 in New Jersey, at a tall grey apartment building nicknamed the ‘Stonehenge’. According to resident George O'Barski, while out driving he began hearing static over his radio and saw in North Hudson Park a dark, round flying object with brightly lit windows hovering over the ground. He then observed ten small, hooded, identically-dressed figures emerge from the UFO and appear to dig up soil, collect it in bag-like receptacles, and return to the craft. O'Barski returned to the site the next day and claims to have found the holes in the vicinity of his sighting. Months later, O'Barski told the story to ufologist Budd Hopkins, who with other ufologists allegedly found other independent witnesses (like the doormen at the Stonehenge) who also reported seeing the strange object.
9. The Ariel School Sighting (1994) In 1994 at the Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, over 60 students reported witnessing a strange craft land on a lawn near their school in broad daylight. Several students reported feeling compelled to approach the object, and said they were communicated with telepathically by the beings inside. The students report feeling an extreme urgency combined with a message of conservation for the earth, nature, and our natural resources, as well as being given visions of possible disaster scenarios if humans didn’t heed these instructions. Many students who experienced this stand by their stories to this day, and say that it affects the decisions they make regarding conservation to this day.
10. The Celestial Phenomenon Over Nuremberg (1561) On the morning of April 14th of 1561, a mass UFO sighting was recorded via broadsheet in Nuremberg, Germany. The story says that around dawn, residents of Nuremberg saw what they described as an aerial battle, followed by the appearance of a large black triangular object and then a large crash outside of the city. The broadsheet claims that witnesses observed hundreds of spheres, cylinders and other bizarre-shaped objects that moved erratically in the sky. It also describes objects of various shapes including crosses, globes, two lunar crescents, a black spear and tubular objects from which several smaller, round objects emerged and darted around the sky at dawn. A quote from the original report states: “...there stood on both sides and as a torus about the sun such blood-red ones and other balls in large number, about three in a line and four in a square, also some alone. In between these globes there were visible a few blood-red crosses, between which there were blood-red strips, becoming thicker to the rear and in the front malleable like the rods of reed-grass, which were intermingled, among them two big rods, one on the right, the other to the left, and within the small and big rods there were three, also four and more globes. These all started to fight among themselves, so that the globes, which were first in the sun, flew out to the ones standing on both sides, thereafter, the globes standing outside the sun, in the small and large rods, flew into the sun. Besides the globes flew back and forth among themselves and fought vehemently with each other for over an hour.”
It still burnt sometimes....
The feeling of Akainu’s heat meeting Ace’s flames had pulsed throughout all of Marineford that day. Citizens had surely died from simply being too close to a few key locations and battles, a guilt that some marines carried with them.
Toru was the proof of that.
Tumblr media
“Leave! Now!” A voice, hoarse from the dry air that had been so repeatedly frozen and superheated throughout the battle, screamed at the group of forty (or so) civilians who were already fleeing the scene, as Toru channeled his haki into the burning heat that he had trained with for moments just as this one....
Tumblr media
The feeling of being sent flying was one that always made him feel helpless, but in Marineford, it was one with such consequences, as he saw the crossfire between his own men and the pirates ensnare the people he’d hoped to save. The innocents whose only crime was picking an island they thought would be safe to live on. To love and have family who were part of The World Government’s Navy.
To exchange so many lives for the sake of one was the exact opposite of what he’d been taught in boot camp.
Tumblr media
The feeling of his right eye was like one of burning. He could only see red, and nothing through that, even when he wiped it away. That was bad. Even worse was when he tried to do something with his right arm, nothing came about of it. Toru couldn’t bear to see why that was. He’d simply have to fight left-handed.
He’d always favored it anyway.
Tumblr media
Those memories came rushing to him in a tidal wave of pain and regret when he caught sight of something familiar. Something big... And blue...
Something that had disappeared from his field of vision the moment he turned for a second look.
Someone he’d thought had died at Marineford.
NJPW G1 Climax 2019 Day 8 Review
We started up with Toru Yano vs. Juice Robinson. These two have met twice, both in the G1 and both with Robinson winning. Juice was very skeptical to even lock up in the early portion of this match, while Yano desperately tried for some rollups Juice wasn’t having any of his cheating ways and was mostly annoyed, but Yano nearly snuck a countout win early on, thanks to some athletic tape tying him to the barricade. Yano kept trying to hit a low blow to get the win, which only angered Robinson more and more. After Robinson caught a low blow, he nailed the left hand to god and hit pump friction for the win. Robinson: 6, Yano: 4.
After the match, Robinson shook Yano’s hand as he lied on the ground.
Grade: C-. Normally I really like the stupid Yano matches in the G1, but this was not really a fun one. They didn’t really blend together super well, and they didn’t go long enough to be very funny. That’s fine though, they won’t all be winners. Good for Juice to keep winning his matches.
Then we had Taichi vs. Hirooki Goto. The record going into this match was 2:1 in favor of gotoBefore the match, Taichi made sure to beat the crap out of one of the LA Dojo guys, because Goto trained there for the G1. These two had a rivalry over the NEVER Openweight championship late last year, and that rivalry was renewed in this match. And naturally, anyone who has had problems with Taichi absolutely hate him, so Goto was vicious here. They quickly fought on the outside, Taichi continued to hit Karl Fredericks and even threw him into Goto to get the advantage. He brought the anger right out of Goto, who absolutely destroyed his chest with overhand chops. The two then exchanged a series of strikes and kicks, which Taichi actually came out on top of. We actually saw shades of big match Taichi in this match, as he busted out some huge kicks and often refused to let Goto put him down, but that didn’t stop him from cheating. At one point, Taichi pushed the ref into Goto to stun him, and then nailed a saito suplex for a near fall. Taichi then grabbed the mic stand, but Goto grabbed it and threw it out of the ring. Goto then nailed his mid kick, and went for the GTR, but Taichi grabbed the ref. They struggled a bit, and eventually the ref went down. Taichi then caught a kick to the gut and nailed a low blow, followed by a Gedo clutch for the win. Taichi: 4, Goto: 2.
Grade: C. This match started off pretty week, but got better towards the end. They didn’t seem to have the fire or the chemistry that they had last year, but when Taichi started some shenanigans, I got into it a bit more. Goto’s run in the G1 this year makes sense. He hasn’t been doing all that much, but he beat a big rival already, and now he is just doing the job for a lot of his compatriots. Taichi was the correct winner here. He is having an entertaining run for sure, one that I am happy to watch. But this match was not the best.
Then we had Jon Moxley vs. Shingo Takagi. Exciting stuff, and they were in the same stable in Dragon Gate USA a while back, so that is interesting. The two squared right up the second they were both in the ring together. And they started the brawl before the bell even started. Moxley quickly resorted to his now signature bit to the eyebrow. The two blasted each other with strikes and chops in the corner, before trying for a quick test of strength that Moxley came out on top of. Moxley then overextended a bit, going for a suicide dive, but Takagi caught it and hit a death valley driver on the outside. After Moxley gained the advantage again, he set up a table on the outside, but it wasn’t used right away. Instead, Moxley started to target the leg a little bit to weaken the base. Any time that Shingo started to get some momentum, Moxley went right to the leg and knee. It absolutely crippled Shingo’s offense. He was able to get flashes of offense, such as a nice german suplex, but it would be immediately countered, such as when Moxley responded with one of his own. At one point, Moxley tried for an Irish whip, but Takagi just collapsed as he ran. Moxley tried to follow that up with a regal knee, but Takagi caught him with a noshigami. He followed that up with a pair of pumping bombers, the adrenaline pushing the pain to the back of his mind. However, when he got Moxley up on his shoulders, Takagi couldn’t finish the move. That allowed Moxley to hit a short death rider for a near fall. The two then spilled to the outside, and Moxley started to use weapons to attack the knee. He dropped him knee first on the table, and then wrapped his knee in a chair and smashed it. He was nearly counted out, but when he got into the ring, Moxley blasted him with a regal knee. He tried for another short knee to the ribs, but Takagi grabbed it, and was able to twist him around for a short Made in Japan for a near fall. The two then battled in the middle of the ring, countering several attempts at finishers, before Moxley forced Takagi to the mat with shots to the knee, and then hitting a pair of regal knees to the back of the head, but still a near fall. Moxley then wrapped Takagi up in a cloverleaf for the submission victory. Moxley: 8, Takagi: 4.
Grade: A-. Really good stuff between these two. Moxley is phenomenal with other brawlers, but it also showed an interesting side of him that has technical prowess. He worked the leg in an interesting and exciting way, which seemed like it was only to weaken the offense, but he got a submission win. It was such a great finish, because Moxley never gets submission wins. It came out of left field but it made a lot of sense. Takagi suffered his first submission loss, but it was to the strongest competitor in B block right now. Takagi is having a rough tournament, but moving up a weight class isn’t easy. Match of the night.
Next up was Jay White vs. Jeff Cobb. Neither have had a particularly impressive tournament so far, sitting at 0 and 2 points respectively. Gedo was of course out to corner his protege. White started the match by retreating out of the ring, but unlike opponents before him, Cobb opted to stay inside of the ring. Cobb totally manhandled White, throwing him all over the place, and only pursuing him to the outside when White was on the backfoot. Gedo still tried to interfere, so Cobb threw him into the ring and was about to beat on him when White came soaring in with a knee to the back. White opted to target the neck of Cobb, which is an interesting part to isolate due to his massive neck muscles. Of course, White tried to intimidate Red Shoes when he went for a pin after an illegal move, which made me sad. He is just doing his job. The damage to the neck actually made Cobb slow down quite a bit. His power moves took that much more energy, so he couldn’t go as fast as he usually does. However that did not lessen the impact of his suplexes and throws. He still ragdolled White around like anyone else I’ve seen him handle. White too showcased his strength, giving Cobb both a saito suplex and an uranagi. At one point, Cobb was trying to give White a suplex out of the corner, but White was holding the ropes. So, Cobb popped him up into a cradle position and just chucked him halfway across the ring. He then tried to give Cobb a superplex, but Gedo held White’s leg. White thought he had escaped to the apron, but Cobb then gave him a deadlift superplex. He went for the pin, White kicked out with probably the weakest kickout that I’ve ever seen. He just barely lifted his shoulder off the mat. Cobb and White then battled as Cobb went for tour of the islands, which ended when White was accidentally sent into the ref. Was the ref down, Gedo tried to blast Cobb with the brass knuckles, but ate a slam for his troubles. However, the distraction landed white a low blow, which he converted into a sleeper suplex. White then went for a blade runner, but Cobb countered that into a German Suplex. Cobb went for Tour of the Islands again, only for White to slip out once again and land Bladerunner for the win. White: 2, Cobb: 2.
Grade: C+. Very slow match. It was cool to watch all the power moves from Cobb and seeing how strong White is, but other than that it was just too slow for my liking. I thought the closing stretch was pretty nice, always love to see Gedo taking bumps. White’s losing streak is over, and I’m sure that will transfer right into a winning streak. As for Cobb, I don’t know. I don’t see him passing six points. But this match was fine, nothing worth going out of your way to see.
And in the main event, we had Tetsuya Naito vs. Tomohiro Ishii. Intercontinental Champion vs. NEVER Openweight Champion. These two are longtime rivals, and unfortunately, I can’t look up their record against each other because of spoilers. Drawbacks of falling behind in the G1. Of course, Naito took his sweet time removing his ring attire, but Ishii was cool as a cucumber. They started with a striking contest, going until one of them was worn out and then continuing as soon was they could. Naito was naturally fighting dirty during the match, stomping on Ishii as he was grounded and spitting in his face when the mood struck him. Naito targetted the neck in order to nullify some of his power moves. The attacks on the neck, however, did not affect his striking, where Ishii had an advantage. Both men took loads of punishment whenever they started to hit each other. The forearms were stiff, the chops were blistering and they moved very quickly.  Naito was taking advantage of his speed and agility edge in the match, using some high flying offense like in his junior heavyweight days. After escaping out of a powerbomb situation, Naito started to disrespect Ishii by slapping him lazily and spitting on him. In response, Ishii trapped him in the corner and destroyed him with chops and strikes. Even when he was about to collapse, Ishii would pick him back up and keep going. He followed it up with a saito suplex for a near fall. He tried for the powerbomb again, but Naito countered with a spike hurricanrana. Naito then tried for a flying forearm, but Ishii countered this time with a straight jacket suplex. Ishii then tried for a superplex, but Naito slipped out and hit a hangman’s neckbreaker off the top, and followed it up with a hurricanrana from the top rope for a near fall. Naito continued to target the neck with his offense, and Ishii was starting to slow down. The injuries were piling up. Naito went for Destino, but Ishii caught him. He tried to go for a lariat, but Naito countered with a high angle german suplex. Ishii popped right back up, but Naito nailed a poison rana. Ishii’s strikes became absolutely desperate, which is normally a bad thing, but with Ishii’s strength, he was still able to floor Naito. He converted those huge hits into a superplex for a near fall. That allowed Ishii to get his second wind, and he just annihilated Naito with various headbutts, strikes and lariats. The two exchanged blows back and forth, when Naito hit a short Destino out of nowhere, but Ishii kicked out! Naito tried for the full hit, but Ishii caught him. The two battled for control, each trying to hit their finisher, ending with Naito hitting a DDT, and Ishii popping right up and hitting the sliding lariat for a near fall. Naito then nailed a brainbuster of his own, but still Ishii kicked out. Neither man was willing to lose here. Naito then hit Destino one final time for the win. Naito: 4, Ishii: 4.
Grade: A-. Another great match out of these two. Ishii was actually fighting from behind a lot in this match, and I think the only reason why he was actually able to stand up to Naito in this match was his raw strength and endurance. He was at a disadvantage from the start, because Naito picked the best body part that he could have to work over. It nullified a lot of his offense, and given how much he uses various suplexes, Ishii injured himself over time as well. Naito played this one smart. In the end, Destino did it. He broke the neck down and got the win. Good stuff from Naito, glad to see that he is coming into his own now. Ishii is still the MVP of the G1 in my opinion, delivering his fourth great match in as many matches. Definitely the best in the block. Great stuff from both guys, two of the best in the entire tournament.
Overall Grade: B-
Pros: Moxley vs. Takagi; Naito vs. Ishii
Cons: Robinson vs. Yano; Cobb vs. White
