You're late. Merriment can sometimes be a heavier burden than battle. Then you're doing one of them incorrectly. Perhaps.

You feel delirious and completely in a trance.
Your eyelids are getting heavy but there is a heat in your body dancing inside and transforming you. You can feel your fingertips burn as you stumble around the big room, you squint your eyes trying to figure out where you are. Everything is adorned in red and gold colors and the vastness of it could only mean it was the Prince's room. You fall on the bed and get lost inside the velvet sheets, your body reacting to his smell.
You can't help yourself, lust overcoming your brain and you roam your hands all over your body, touching yourself under your gown. His smell was too strong, making your brain into mush. And his smell was overbearing, everything filled you up so wonderfully inside.
After what felt like forever and many orgasms later, you wake up to the sound of Thor's thunderous voice yelling Loki's name. Bewildered, you try to get dressed, accidentally slipping out of the bedding only to rip your dress, leaving you naked for Thor to see. For a moment you both pause staring at one another but you can't help yourself as you slightly rub your legs together trying to gain your balance while looking at him. His smell was so strong it made the same burning ignite tremendously inside you. Your body cried out for him and before you could stop yourself, you fall behind on the bed touching yourself once more.
Thor comes closer to you, his expression is mixed with confusion and anger. He is opening his mouth to speak and he is saying something you can't quite tell, all you can do is moan out his name. It all feels so hazy like something has completely overtaken you. He is saying something between 'this is Loki's tricks' and 'you need to fight it' but it all feels blurry. You need him, you need to beg for him and so do you, touching his chest with your foot and pleading your case.
"I've always wanted you, always cried out for you, please have me, sweet prince." You plead out, your body squirming and Thor's expression remains as angry as ever. That wasn't the response he was expecting but the truth is that you found the Prince very attractive evidenced by your continuous vivid dreams. You can smell beer in his beard and dried blood on his armor from the earlier battlefield. This was the man that needed to be praised for his doings and you were more than happy to serve him. You begin to touch your breasts and arch your back for him hoping for any kind of friction.
"Fuck it." Thor curses out and climbs on top of you ripping off his shirt and remains of armor crushing his lips against yours. He has been craving you as well but he was far too polite, too occupied to get what he wanted. It's desperate, it feels like your bodies have been craving each other for a long time, and you tug at any fabric he has left trying to set him free. For a moment you can hear him laugh at your desperation, and as your fingers are working on the ropes of his trousers, you feel his hand around your neck pushing you down on the mattress.
"Desperate little girl, is that you or just the power of magic?" He ponders, his free hand setting himself free, allowing you to finally see his cock. Is as big and wondrous as you had hoped for. Your mouth is salivating at the thought of this beast inside you and you try to move your hand to touch him but Thor grabs your wrists with his free hand and pins them behind you.
"No, little one. This would be too much for your desperate little cunt. Do you know the amount of training I had to do with my maids in order to take a little bit of it?" You whimper and cry out, you can't help your luck and the next thing you feel is him leaning on you kissing your neck and leaving love marks. You try to squirm underneath him and touch his cock by any means but his grip is very tight on you.
What are his plans?
"I'm gonna let go of your hands and you are going to hold your breasts for me. Understood? No misbehaving. I won't tolerate it."
You nod your head frantically, begging that you will do an excellent job, and then Thor is resting his knees on the side of your body and places his huge cock in between your breasts. Obediently you open your mouth, knowing you will feel some of his tip and dart out your tongue. Thor then fucks your breasts with such vigor and aggression that has your eyes in tears. He is holding the top of your head in place and moves his hips against your body as if he is trying to drill you into the mattress. Your pussy is clenching ever so desperately, a small pool has now formed. The scene is absolutely obscene at the way Thor is defiling your body. The entrance is still open and you know anyone could walk in and watch you getting cock fucked by the prince of Asgard.
There's nothing you wanted more, you know the more obedient you are the more your chances are for him to fuck you like you want him. So you obey, every single little thing, his roughness, his cock, just to gaze upon his concentrated face, his luscious hair falling on his face with each thrust. His ocean blue eyes never leave yours, wanting to see you as pliant and as serene as he likes.
When Thor cums, he does so with no warning, choosing instead to shoot his load inside your mouth. Watch you desperately trying to swallow and take it all, your face pleading for him. He hasn't touched you at all where you had been craving the most yet, choosing to ruin your upper body and your lungs it seemed. But then is as if he heard you and he places his thumb on your clit turning a bit round.
"You made such a big mess, little girl. Now, where am I supposed to sleep?" He scoffs and you want to apologize but that's when he presses your clit so aggressively rubbing with such a tendency that has you scream so loud, it makes you see stars. The intensity of just his touch like that on you shocks you.
At that moment you lost your vision completely and a couple of hours later you woke up to the sight of Thor's naked body sleeping. The image of his chest rising up and down for air made your pussy clench and all you could do is pray he woke up hungry again. You'd be ready and obedient, just for him.

Yeah ok lots of fandom sympathy for Loki in the thor3 elevator scene etc, but who stops to think about how ready Loki was to throw Thor away in thor1/avengers1?
Like Thor tries so fucking hard to win Loki back -- he offers his own life as recompense to any slights he may have committed against him; he begs his father to let him follow Loki down to Midgard when Loki reappears; he tries to convince him with reason, and affection, affirmation and then straight pleading for him to return home with him. He tries and tries and on every turn Loki rejects him -- until at last, Thor believes him. Loki does not want to be his brother; Loki hates him and has hated him and only wants to be as far away from him as possible.
Like I'm never gonna stop banging on about thor2 obviously bc thor2 is secretly my favourite, bc thor2 Thor is so obviously fucking hurt from the events of thor1 and avengers1 that he is an open, bleeding wound the whole movie. Loki has rejected him and their thousand years of brotherhood so thoroughly that Thor cannot fucking even talk about him by name. He cannot go see Loki bc Odin has forbidden it but also he prevaricates bc he thinks Loki doesn't want to see him.
He has so thoroughly accepted Loki's acquittal of their relationship that he does not once call Loki "brother" the entire fucking movie
He is unmoored. He is adrift. His heartache is so plainly written in every scene that it deserves its own line credit in the cast list.
And I think Loki understands that on some level. The guilt of hurting Thor so thoroughly when he has never wanted to hurt Thor is just stewing inside of him the whole time he's imprisoned. If Thor would just come and see him, maybe he could explain himself: he was angry, yes, but after there was something wrong with him; something about him wasn't wholely himself, and he can't explain it entirely, but he didn't mean what he said and what he did. It had been as if his every worst impulse and his every fleeting resentment had been made outsized and the only real thing about him. It was as if he wasn't able to see Thor for who he has known him to be. Of course Loki knows him; of course they have always been brothers. But the longer Thor stays away, the worse the guilt gets, and the closer it turns to anger again. Why won't Thor come to see him? Doesn't he know Loki? Couldn't he tell that there was something else besides Loki in those words, those actions? Could Thor have really believed that Loki would discard him so easily after everything?
And like, I think it's the guilt that makes Loki so compliant and eager and well behaved when Thor finally comes to retrieve him -- even under his customary thorniness. He's been restless for Thor's forgiveness -- for Thor's acknowledgment that they are still brothers, that Thor knows him and that he still loves him. Because if Loki cannot depend on Thor's unshakeable love for him, then what does he have? Everything else can be taken away from him -- his family, his titles, his power, his birthright -- but Thor's love is his to lose. He cannot lose it; he must have it back, bc if he can't have it back, then he truly has nothing, and it's not worth living is it? Having nothing, being nothing. Being no one's.
If Thor does not believe that Loki loves him anymore, then Loki will have to prove it to him-- he'll prove it with his life if he has to.

[So @beheworthy made a very good post about her Thor4 feelings/frustrations that I largely agree with but I have my own bit of frustration with the new film that I’ve yet to see expressed (or maybe I did back when news broke but I don’t recall now) and I didn’t want to just tack it onto her post since it really isn’t about what she’s talking about. But her post definitely inspired me to make my own so if you have Thor4 misgivings go check it out.]
I’m not excited about Thor!Jane or an arc that I assume will inevitably see Jane’s death and Thor getting character development out of it.* But mostly the Thor!Jane thing. Because here’s the dirty little secret people conveniently forget: Jane was a good character in the first two Thor films.
She was a good foil for Thor. I know fandom focuses solely on Loki but Jane was far more important to his development in Thor1, giving him a real world example of someone who was born with none of his advantages and yet succeeds despite them and, even when faced with a massive setback and the loss of everything she had built and worked toward (what could that be paralleling I wonder), refuses to give up. When Thor has lost everything - his home, his powers, his birthright, his parents’ love - it is incredibly important that he has Jane there. He’s seen her struggle and it gives him something to not only continue to fight for when he has nothing else left, but something to strive to emulate. And she fills this role because she lacks powers. If Jane was a mutant or had some Iron Man-esque rig, the example she provides for Thor would not be nearly as powerful or impactful and his arc and the arc of the film itself would suffer for it.
Similarly, in Thor2, Jane’s arc is specifically about her human weakness. No, I am not saying that if, say, Sif had been infected with the aether she would’ve been fine because she’s an Aesir. Obviously anyone would have been in very real, life or death peril. But it isn’t about the aether. It’s about her mortality as a whole. She’s a mortal woman in love with a god and he will inevitably outlive her.
But I’m sorry, I’ve misled you. This is Thor’s arc. He’s the one dealing with the weight of loving a woman who he will outlive by centuries. Jane doesn’t give a rat’s behind. She wants to live, obviously, but she’s not daunted by Thor’s lifetime in comparison with hers or even the epic scale of his world and the adventures her presence in it pulls her into. Her only issue at all is a response to his issues causing him to hang back from her. She searches for him. She confronts him as an equal when he finally shows his face. And she doesn’t balk or run from what comes after. She is ready for this relationship and everything it entails.
Jane is Thor’s humanity. She’s his weakness - in all the best ways. She’s the part of him that gives his story its relatable stakes. At the climax of Thor2, when Thor is unconscious and the Dark Elf ship is about to come crashing down on him, I think we all know there’s at least a chance (if not a certainty) that Thor would have survived. He’s not Superman but he’s pretty tough. The weight of that moment comes from Jane. Her humanity, her vulnerability, her mortality are what give that moment its impact. She doesn’t know Thor will live. All she knows is she can’t pull him out and save him. So she does the only thing she can and protects him with the flimsy shield of her body, likely hoping that that slim protection will be the difference between life and death for a being as powerful as him.
So no, I don’t want Jane to get superpowers. Jane doesn’t need superpowers. She is strong enough for Thor just the way she is. She matters just the way she is. And I’m really not interested in a narrative or a narrator that says different.

Rated G/K-K+
**Promise by igi_pigi: Thor visits Jane to say goodbye before he leaves for Asgard. Rec: Bittersweet but lovely post-AOU, semi AU pre-Ragnarok. | 1.1k
**Spooky Nights by igi_pigi: "So what is it about?" Thor asks. "Or are we to go in uninformed?"Jane's eyes instinctively flick towards the blank tv screen. Darcy was insistent about it being a horror movie this time - as they serve as "perfect romance fodder", according to the maniac. Jane has decided to go with the recent one, 'The Conjuring'. [Set a few months after Thor2] Rec: Just sweet, dumb, wonderful fluff. Not an ounce of angst to be found. Also Thor learning about Earth is always sweeeeet. | 3.2k
**Stars and Solitude by igi_pigi: It's Jane's first night in Thor's home, however unusual the circumstances. He wishes to show her somewhere. She thinks it's his room. [Set during Thor2] Rec: A nice lil add on, Thor inviting Jane further into his life. | 3.3k
**Can’t Go Back the Same Way You Came by gumbridge: Loki lets go. This is what happens after. (post-film; basically a fixit fic.) Rec: This is pretty Loki-centric, but Jane is fabulously written, the family unit that Loki gets inducted into makes me very happy, and the fosterson is understated but so important and wonderful. | 20k
**spring will come by LadyCharity: As if grieving over the death of her husband wasn't hard enough, Jane has to deal with Thor's angry, bitter, emotionally shot little brother. Rec: This is literally all pain but god it is so good. You can feel the love binding Jane and Loki and Thor and it is so, so well written. Holy shit. | Content Warning: Major Character Death | 12k
the universe in your hand by amonkeysue: For the free day of Fosterson Week 2019, Thor's finally taking the right chance to propose to Jane. Rec: an adorable little bite-sized proposal fic. | <1k
Who Lives, Who Dies by MissChrisDaae: When the dust settles, who is left? Rec: Post-Infinity War, semi-kidfic. Pretty cute, and brings Jane into the story like she should’ve been. | 1.2k
Morning by MissChrisDaae: Thor and Jane's morning is interrupted by their kids. Rec: Fluffy fluffy FLUFFY Jane and Thor with a whole gaggle of children. | <1k
Trending by MissChrisDaae: Jane and Darcy's work session gets a little derailed. Rec: For the Social Media day of Fosterson Week, a fluffy and silly bit, and feeds into the 2012 Avengers Fic nostalgia. | <1k
ever on and on by often_adamanta: Darcy has to correct three separate people at the reception about their relationship, not younger cousin or sister, but college professor and boss and finally best friend. Jane thinks about their surprise, the second glances they give her, and wonders. Rec: Jane deals with the implications of immortality. Her friendship with Darcy is so potent and real in this. | 3k
Before the Thunder Shook Us by niobium: #6, “Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?” #14, “Hey, I’m with you, okay? Always.” Rec: This is such a wonderful canon-insertion/canon divergence. Just enough fluff and bittersweetness to seem real. | 1k
Private Jokes by MissChrisDaae: Before his return to Asgard, Thor and Jane have a talk. Two years later, Thor misses a chance and Jane has to carry on. Rec: An AOU coda and a Ragnarok fix-it all in one. Feisty Jane and apologetic Thor. My bbs. | 1k
On the Physics of Magical Space Hammers by shinyopals: ‘So what does it mean to be “Worthy”?’ Jane asked. Jane doesn't mind sharing her life with Mjolnir. She just wishes she understood it a bit better. Rec: We’ve all wondered about Mjolnir and worthiness. Jane finally takes the initiative to find out with amazing results. | 4k
Fives Times Jane and Thor Broke Up and One Time They Didn’t by shinyopals: I didn’t know you were in the country, Jane,’ said Jane's grandmother. ‘Of course, nobody tells me anything.’ ‘It’s just a very last minute thing,’ said Jane, which Thor knew to be a lie. ‘I only arrived yesterday-’ another lie, ‘and I’m just on the way to work and thought I’d stop by and see Mom.’ This too was not true. ‘This is my friend Thor,’ she added, almost casually. ‘He’s been helping me with some work so we’re driving into the university together.’ This seemed the most flagrant of all the lies, but Thor decided not to let it show. It's not always convenient to be a relationship, so sometimes Jane and Thor have to make sacrifices. Rec: A giant SUCK ON THIS FEIGE that takes the “Jane and Thor break up” concept to the best possible places. | 12k
Hours Long and Short by shinyopals: The first night, Thor does not sleep. (Written for a post-TDW prompt for Fosterson Week 2017.) Rec: A really wonderful slice of life fic post-TDW. Deals with their trauma so wonderfully, and includes some lovely soft moments. | 4k
#7Days7Hobbies by shinyopals: Thor wants to try out some of Midgard's finest hobbies and turns to Twitter for suggestions. Jane isn't really sure how this is now her life. (Prompt for Day 4: Domestic, for Fosterson Week 2017.) Rec: One of my favorite things that’s ever been submitted for Fosterson Week. I love reading about Thor fully embracing Earth customs, particularly social media, which opal KNOWS is one of my weaknesses. | 5k
A Question of Honor by shinyopals: ‘Paintball?’ said Steve. ‘We could do… that…’ ‘What is that?’ asked Thor. He nuzzled into Jane’s hair. His mead-breath was giving her a headache. ‘It’s a thing- a game… thing. With paint.’ ‘Rogers, stop explaining stuff to Thor, you’re embarrassing me.’ Tony’s voice was remarkably coherent. Must have been drinking sensibly. Bastard. When it comes to deciding whether Earth or Asgard has better warriors, the stakes are high, and Jane is wishing she'd kept her big mouth shut. Rec: TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES FOR THE WIN. | 8k
The Gift Horse by fartherfaster: Sam and Darcy are formally introduced for the first time. Sam says “formally” with some flexibility. And a couch. A couch and a great deal of flexibility. Nevermind, he’s said enough. They met, is what he’s trying to say. Or, Sam's early days with the whole gang. Rec: Mostly a teamfic from Sam Wilson’s POV, which is awesome because how often do you see that. Fosterson is mostly background, but it made me smile so much. | 3k
on the verge of understanding something extraordinary by dirgewithoutmusic: “Jane, you’re an astrophysicist, not a storm chaser,” said Erik Selvig, and he was wrong. She was just an astrophysicist too. (A Jane Foster character study) Rec: I’m relatively certain I read this before and loved it, only it somehow didn’t make the reclist. An amazing, touching, wonderful, stunning portrait of Jane Foster. | 9k
starlight in her eyes by jdphoenix: “You,” she says, voice strong with accusation. “You’re the one who attacked me!” Thor really must laugh at that. “You are the one who attacked me. Or is it considered polite among stars to crash into one another?” Rec: A really awesome take on a Stardust fusion AU. Full of inquisitive Jane and cocky Thor. It gave me really hard vibes from the first Thor film. | 1.2k
a true lady of Asgard by jdphoenix: It's not uncommon for Jane to fall asleep working when she's chasing a new theory or hunting down evidence but the middle of a battle for the future of Asgard is not the time. Rec: Jane becoming a fixture of sorts in Asgard is one of my kinks. Also Jane being friends with Thor’s friends and the people of Asgard. Kink. | 3.5k
Afterwit by RC_McLachlan: Good with patients, bad with relationships. That's what she told Thor before she ripped the name tag from the shirt in his hands and crumbled it in her palm, relishing the way the sticky back clung to her skin before she threw it in the waste bin. She'd never been so right in her life up to that point—the rightest she's ever been was when she decided to offer the crazy blond guy a ride to his mysterious non-satellite in the desert. Or, the one in which Jane and Thor run into Donald Blake. Rec: I am such a sucker for the “running into the shitty ex with the New and Improved Partner” trope and this is that. All of that to such a wonderful degree. | 2.7k
drabbles by freshexes: Rec: Some really fantastic little bits of prose. Great voices of Thor and Jane. Some fluffies, some angst. | 1k
The Good Times are Killing Me by alwaysaprilia: Rec: Modern royals AU. Jane and Thor are perfect in this. The dialogue is sublime, and the interactions made me squee really hardcore. I only wish there was more. | 3.6k
College AU by anthropologicalhands: Rec: It’s kinda more meta/heacanon, but it’s really adorable. | 1k
all’s fair (in love and war) by sweetwatersong: This is what you fight for. This is what you yearn to feel: this moment, this passing of every second, this rush of life and the indomitable strength of the present. Thor is a warrior, born and bred, and he is glad of any battle - and yet, as with all things, even this can change. Rec: A Thor introspect and a really well done second person perspective. | 1k
Five Times Thor Gets His Shirt Off FOR GREAT JUSTICE And One Time He Doesn’t by shinyopals: Sometimes Thor’s armour is more useful when not being worn by him. He definitely doesn’t end up in these situations on purpose. Rec: Please bury me in every single five times fic shinyopals has written. This one might be my absolute favorite. So many fantastic interactions for Thor, not just with Fosterson (which is BEYOND perfect), but the whole team. Plus: naked Thor fighting bad guys in an apron. Also the SamSteve is so strong and I’m in love. | 9.8k
A Discussion of Hypotheticals by shinyopals: Jane and Thor talk about their future. Hypothetically. Rec: I am so glad we’ve made Fosterson Week a thing because this fic is WONDERFUL. Great communication makes me weak, and also so many squee-worthy moments. | 5k
Jane Foster Versus the Internet. Or: Five Times Jane Allegedly Dated An Avenger And One Time She Apparently Did Not by shinyopals: Jane discovers that the internet is The Worst. Rec: It’s the thing I loved so much I made graphics for it because it’s so good. Jane’s interactions with all the Avengers are delightful, not to mention her steady relationship with Thor that is so grounded and real. It’s also freaking hilarious. | 10.4k
Untitled by polyamoryavengers: Rec: Angst and fluff and Jane comforting Thor. *cartwheels into the sun* | 1k
Sexiest ‘Something’ Alive by Niobium: Tony is bound and determined to make sure a human is awarded the title of Sexiest Man Alive (he even has a solid candidate in mind); Jane just wants media outlets to get their science right. Rec: This is absolutely fantastic. Just the right kind of blend of humor, sweetness, and meta criticism ever. | 7.5k
The Hours Filled by websandwhiskers: Ritual and comradery are basic human needs. Rec: Focus on Jane, not a ton of Thor, but pregnant Jane is always a delight. | 1.7k
First Dates? by hariboo: Jane’s not really sure what her and Thor’s first date is? The party or the barbecue? In end does it matter? Rec: I am not a big fan of high school AUs, but if they float your boat, this is definitely worthwhile. | 1.4k | Part of Let’s Be Young Forever series
Of Car Crashes and Coffee by hariboo: “you bumped my car and I’m so piss- oh wow no you’re hot let’s go for a coffee” au prompt. Exactly what it says on the tin. Rec: This made me giggle. Super duper cute. | 1.3k
Tactile Perception by RC_McLachlan: “The day I met you, I knew you would see me.” Her hands find his face, sliding over his jaw, his cheeks, and she brings their foreheads together. “The day I met you, I hit you with my car. Twice.” Rec: *dies quietly* Teasing and cute story telling and just so many good things. | 2k
Clarke’s Third Law by shinyopals: “Of all the people to knock down the stairs, she would pick the practically-seven-foot-tall son of the Minister for Magic who just happens to be the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain.” Jane’s just trying to read every single book in the Hogwarts library in between classes, and she’s not quite sure how Thor happened to her. Rec: I never read Harry Potter but damn it this makes me want to. I just love this. So much. I don’t know how but it happened. I actually really wish there was more? | 3.8k
The Most Daring Prophecies–Dr Jane Foster at TED Talk by Rozilla: A transcript of Jane giving a TED Talk on her experiences of crossing the cosmos, Asgard and her hopes for the future of interstellar travel - as reported on WHIH. Rec: I can’t tell you how badly I wanted this to be real. Fosterson is mentioned a bit, and it makes me smile a lot. | 5.1k
Paradigm Shift by jdphoenix: “Jane’s implementing a ‘new organizational paradigm.’ She does this like once a year, usually when she’s extra stressed. Like after that time your brother messed up NYC.” Rec: cute domestics plus Jane is worthy. | 1.5k
Raging Storm by jdphoenix: Thor knows the moment he touches the hammer that it is not Mjolnir. Rec: A brilliant continuation of Paradigm Shift (above, previously recced) wherein Jane bests Loki and is worthy, plus Jane talking down berserker!Thor. So many of my Fosterson hot buttons. | 4k
Overlap by littlestardust: A moment between Thor and Jane. Alternative summary: Thor is respectful of Jane’s life choices, and also there is cuddling. Rec: Teeny tiny fic, but super cute. | <1k
amazed & confused by tashlae: Dating an alien/god/man who fell from the sky isn’t something to take lightly. Rec: Jane/Darcy centric with lots of talk about fosterson and a kinda sweet moment at the end. | 1k
untitled by ifilovedyouless: jane/thor, modern royals. Rec: Oh my god, the sweetness overload was too much. Also YAS Thor in military uniform. | 1k
Fosterson - dancing by batsonthebrain: Rec: Introspective, sweet, and with a heavy dose of mutual respect. | <1k
Unplanned by hariboo: The first person to hear Jane is pregnant isn’t Thor. It should be, but extenuating circumstances. This happens a lot when it comes to living in Stark Tower. Rec: Very much toeing the crack line. Baby!fic, obviously, plus fabulous Clint, and a semi?redeemed Loki. | 1.2k
clash of the (scientific) titans by anthropologicalhands: Thor brings Tony to meet Jane. Thor admits he probably could have thought it through a little better. Rec: this fic always makes me giggle. Fosterson is mostly background, but the interactions between everyone makes this worth it. | 1k
Through Doors by nayanroo: The Jedi Order knows a good team when they see it, but unfortunately even the best-planned missions always have something go hilariously wrong. That’s when the true strength of any bond is shown. Rec: A Star Wars fusion is always a good idea. The way Jane and Thor play off each other and their bond through the Force is lovely. | 4k
Straight On 'Til Morning by arsenicarcher: Thor and Jane are having a baby. Tony’s conflicted about the whole thing. Rec: Kinda Tony-centric, but I’m always up for a fosterson baby. | 4.4k
hard to keep the rainclouds out by veliseraptor: Rec: A unique view on Thor’s grief and Jane’s struggle to be there for him. Very lovely, very angsty. | 2.1k
Perils of an RPF Life by hariboo: Look, it isn’t that she isn’t excited for Jane, sure she is. But Darcy wonders if Jane ever thinks about that. The fact she’s dating the sexiest E.T. ever. Rec: Darcy’s voice in this is hilarious and touching all at once. Jane and Thor’s caring for each other is so clear and endearing I audibly squeed a few times. | 2k
amazed & confused by tashlae: Dating an alien/god/man who fell from the sky isn’t something to take lightly. Rec: Jane and Darcy friendship is a lot of fun. Jane’s pondering of their relationship seems very characteristic of her. | 1k
On The Unsubtle Nature of Fish Ties by Niobium: Fancy clothes shopping for your alien boyfriend should be easier than this. Or, how Thor got his red velvet jacket. Rec: Fosterson is mostly background, but cute Jane/Darcy/Pepper interaction. | 3.3k
Be Safe by MissChrisDaae: Thor and Jane have a contingency plan for emergencies. Rec: Speculation/AU for Age of Ultron. Baby!fic, and is just so damn cute. | <1k
It All Happens Here by MissChrisDaae: Her very first year of teaching, Jane Foster gets an unusual bonus in the form of one of her students’ extremely attractive father. Single dad and his daughter’s kindergarten teacher au. Rec: super fluffy and just adorable. | 7.5k
Remembrance by Are_you_ever_not_going_to_fall_for_that: Thor and Jane take a walk and come across something that sparks memories. Post The Dark World. Rec: Jane and Thor talk about Loki, and the lack of heavy angst is refreshing. | <1k

halfway between the gutter and the stars by verity: Thor pulls his phone out of his pocket and lifts it above them to capture a picture of the moment, their hair lit by the sun, Jane’s soft smile next to his beaming grin. The Rise filter suits the image perfectly. “I shall title this 'THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE,’” Thor says, typing carefully on the touchscreen. “With the small image of your planet, flanked by sparkling stars." "Well, we abandoned a geocentric model of the galaxy hundreds of years ago,” says Jane. "'THE CENTER OF MY UNIVERSE,’“ Thor says. He amends his caption and selects the options to crosspost from Instagram to Twitter and Facebook. Rec: Okay I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this. So much. Not "Functional” or “Elegant” by Niobium: Jane Foster has worked some bad jobs in her career; working with Stark Industries’ R&D is a vast improvement. Family Values by shinyopals: ‘It would have been kinder to leave me dead,’ Loki informs her one day. So, he runs away from home and enrolls at Harvard University as Donald Blake, where he meets Jane Foster. Jane is clever, kind, and everything he wants, but can never have.Princess Jana of Ameos has spent her whole life studying incognito, getting the best global education possible under the alias of Jane Foster and trying not to think about romance, or the fiancé waiting for her back in Europe. Five Times the Bad Guys Interrupted Thor and Jane's Date Night and One Time Tony Freaking Wishes They Had by shinyopals: ‘I have told Steve,’ Thor says to Tony as he’s leaving to go back to his rooms, ‘but I thought I should tell you also. Jane and I plan to institute the ritual of ‘Date Night’.’ As always, Thor sounds like someone’s severely uncool father trying to be hip when he uses any slang invented since the Civil War. Tony's been an Avenger long enough to avoid deliberately tempting fate, even if he doesn't actually believe in fate. The universe is just plain cruel. That's why he knows to be prepared for the worst Hydra can throw at them whenever Thor and Jane make evening plans. Rec: IT’S SO FUDGING CUTE. I CAN’T. IT’S CUTE AND HILARIOUS AND PERFECT AS ALWAYS. | 4.7k
Unexpected Arrival by shinyopals: ‘Jane-’ Thor cut himself off, opening and closing his mouth without managing words. Her name on his lips sounded so familiar; warm and deep and like nothing else mattered. An undercurrent of nerves there that she could still hear after all this time, that she didn’t think anyone else would be able to. She wanted to run to him, bury her face in his neck and jump back in time. Back before the break up - not enough time for each other with the universe in peril. Back before the baby. The baby she still sometimes wondered if she should have terminated to save them both this moment. Rec: The angsty and painfully yearning babyfic that you never knew you needed. | 2k
Steadfast as the Stars Above by jdphoenix: It was not meant to be like this. With him so small and weak, fighting every second to find purchase on a tiny world that spins faster than he can fathom. He wanted to be strong for her. Rec: A fabulous use of the Soulmate AU that completely slots itself perfectly into canon. | 8.3k
too poor for silver, i have a copper tongue by venndaai: “Maybe you don't have the perfect words all the time but, you always have something to say, right? You never have to, have to stop and think about it, and you never stumble over your words or anything.” He squinted at her. “I thought such things simply aspects of Midgardian speech, which you know I am not well versed in.” Jane sighed. “They're not supposed to be.” Rec: A story featuring an explicitly autistic Jane Foster. So wonderfully done. Full of empathy and love and kindness and warmth. | 1.3k
Gift by spikewriter: Jane looked at the brightly colored rug on the floor of the farmhouse in the Hudson Valley they were still moving into. “I like it,” she admitted with a bit more enthusiasm, picturing how her six-year-old self would have run screaming around the room in glee at such a gift. Rec: Some post-TDW fluff with bonus Darcy inclusion. | 1.5k
to candle incandescent as you pass by sweetwatersong: The legacy of King Tristan and the Star Queen Yvaine is not a mere tale in Stormhold, a fantastical portion of the kingdom's history. It lives and breathes in the blood of their descendants, in their long lives and graceful aging, in the ruling King Odin and his son, the Crown Prince Thor… Rec: A Stardust/Huntsman/Thor fusion that isn’t so much a full fic as it is, as the author describes, “a sketch.” Still a really lovely read, a great blend of the films. | 5k
Raiment of The Gods by randomcelt: They say the clothes make the man ... or the god. But sometimes, they do the most for his friends. (Or, a tale of all the times someone else wore Thor's clothes and the adventures necessitating such a development.) Rec: A great Thor character piece. A heavy emphasis on Thor + the team which I love. Runs you through the full gamut of emotions in the best way. | 10k
How to Quantify by Rozilla: It turns out Jane has a personal top ten list of favourite equations - and a nice expanse of hot Norse God to write them on. Rec: Super sweet and also contains the phrase ‘who said science never got you laid’ so. Yep. | 2k
this new bravery by hoosierbitch: For alfadorisawesome, who requested Thor/Jane “about to hook up with someone who doesn’t know.” This is my favorite piece so far. <3 Rec: Incredibly well done Trans Jane Foster. I am such a sucker for open lines of communication between partners, and that’s exactly what this is. Thor is incredibly sweet, and this story establishes his very nonbinary opinions on gender which I LOVE, but he still makes an effort to understand Jane’s experience. I love this fic so much. | 1k
The Hammer and the Ice by grav_ity: In the course of her short and mortal life, the heart of Jane Foster has been twice touched by the sons of Asgard. Rec: I adore AUs where Jane was in the Avengers. This is a short flashfic, but really lovely. | 1k

Sly little Shakespeare references. Thor and Jane being cute, sweet idiots. | 6.2k
Proximity Alarm by fayedartmouth: Thor comes back to Earth. Jane thinks it’s great. Except all the times it isn’t. Rec: It’s a great writing style. Jane and Thor are awkward, adorable, and passionate in a realistic way. Them navigating how to be together is a challenge that not all authors can rise to, so this is a great piece. So much yes. | 13.7
Never So Empty by iwillavengeyou: Thor has traveled the nine realms and seen many things in his centuries of godhood. What could possibly make everything seem so empty? Rec: Wow, just no. This hurts. This is not cool. Ow. Ow. Transcends angst and ends up somewhere much worse. Read if you’re into self-flagellation or are making a reclist. I literally yelled “Wow rude” at the conclusion of this fic. Major Character Death | 1.5k
An Ancient Gesture by Niobium: Jane and Thor come up with a tradition for dealing with situations where a social function gets to be a little too much for either of them. Rec: Super smiley, stomach flutter inducing fic. Fluff upon fluff, but also Asgard culture/worldbuilding! Yay! | 2.8k

Slowly, We Adjust by katsumi: Jane Foster leaves the lab on Friday exhausted, overworked, and petrified that she won’t get the grant proposal for her wormhole experiment finished in time to get funding. The Pretty Birds Have Flown by beanarie: "Jane never pukes, not when she first wakes up, not at any other time of day. She has a cast-iron stomach and wicked stable inner ears, and morning sickness doesn’t stand a chance.“ The one where Thor knocked Jane up that night they chilled on the roof, and offscreen Frigga swore Heimdall to secrecy in the interest of protecting everyone involved. The All-Father’s house has a lot of enemies, okay. Rec: Heartbreaking, fluffy, and feelsy. Batten down the emotional hatches. | 2.2k
Jane Foster and the Impossible Library by Niobium: Jane, Darcy, and Thor find a peculiar library, and their afternoon takes a turn for the bizarre. It is inconvenient when she wants to get out of bed or, at the very least, look over last night’s data. Rec: So very fluffy it makes me want to roll in it. Adorably domestic, too. Jane at her scienceing finest. | 2.3k
Late Night Waiting by hariboo: Jane didn’t often get home late. Rec: A very sweet and simple Jane/Thor that makes their relationship seem very grounded and real. Also, it is so sweet it makes my teeth hurt, and then I just want more. | 2.1k
Uru by sheffiesharpe: Thor cannot look after Jane, no matter how he wants to. Hogun offers a solution. Puente Antiguo receives another unexpected visitor. Rec: The author makes a really strange concept work brilliantly. Jane and Thor’s pining is frustrating and well-written, and the writing sizzles with unresolved sexual tension. | 6k
Star-Crossed by websandwhiskers: A vignette taking place during "Avengers”, after shawarma, before Thor returns to Asgard with Loki. Thor and Jane have their reunion, and discuss their future. Rec: Jane is an awesome person, and Thor respects the hell out of her. One of the best portrayals of Jane Foster that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. | 1.7k
The Morning After by fuzzy_paint: "I can’t believe we’re doing this,“ Jane says. "Can you believe we’re doing this?" Rec: Even without much in way of dialogue, Jane and Thor’s devotion is plain. We get a little view of domestics, too. | 1.7k
The Observable Universe by Sarea Okelani (sarea): As an astrophysicist, Jane studies the observable universe for work, but in her free time what she likes to study is a bit closer to home. (Or: Jane has a low tolerance for stupidity. Clint and Natasha take exception to being called stupid.) Rec: Not a ton of overt Jane/Thor, and is mostly an outsider POV on Clint/Natasha, but there is lots of team shenanigans and there is definitely a lot of affection for Thor from Jane’s POV. | 10k
Deal by GreenVelvetCurtains: Jane introduces Thor to the great Midgardian tradition of being made to remove your clothing when you lose a hand of poker. Everybody wins! Rec: I got a huge kick out of this one. Toeing the line of becoming crackfic. Oh, how I wish there was a smutty follow up. | 2k
Before the Fall by verily-thor: Jane helps Thor prepare for Ragnarök. Rec: Oh god, if you’re in the mood for some sadness, come on in here. Tragic without being grotesque, stripping it down to the bare emotions, and two people who love each other more than anything. | <1k

fingerprints that leave me covered for days by tosca1390: It is not all lost, to be stranded here. Perhaps, he could make something of it. Rec: Another AU in which Thor is on Earth longer in the first movie. Great development for Thor, and the relationship he has with Jane feels very real. | 5.5k
journeys end in lovers’ meeting by tosca1390: Solitary moments in snow; it sounds conducive to rest, to a time of rejuvenation before her research resumes. Rec: A really cute AU based on the movie The Holiday (which I’ve never seen before). Just adorable holiday fluff wherein Thor is human. Contains some smut | 19k
Bound by Medie: It was ironic that his and Loki’s greatest mistakes had led to her. Rec: Some tame bondage featuring dom!Jane. Contains smut | 1.1k
Rated E (these will contain the smuts unless otherwise noted)
**Ambush by orphan_account: Jane isn't into violence, but there's something about those SHIELD debriefings, something primal and raw about hearing how the bad guys got their asses handed to them by the good guys, something that inspires her to act on instinct alone. Rec: If you’ve got a thing for Thor’s armor.... mmmhmmm. | 1.1k
Is This More than You Bargained for Yet by Anshin Archives: Thor and Jane's first go at sex. Jane's expecting Thor to have a cock, and is surprised when he doesn't. It doesn't take her long to adjust. (Pure porn for the excuse of writing Thor with a vagina.) Rec: Genderfluidity and completely accepted queerness for the win. | 2.5k
When Jane Pegged Thor by waldorph: They raise them slutty in Asgard. Rec: What it says on the tin. Pretty damn hot if pegging is up your alley ;). | 1.4k
Practical Magic by Rozilla: Freya’s flowers can do funny things to you. Rec: Roz is the queen of smut so this is amazing. Kind of a play on sex pollen, but takes it in a totally new, refreshing direction. Asgardian sex magic for the win. | 2.8k
built on the old rivers by fartherfaster: You catch her wrist and delicately kiss the bone of it. “Nothing to be sorry for,” you tell her. She composes her reality in absolutes and theories and the true phenomenal names of things. Colloquial language is not her means of communication. You like her hard lines, her curiosity, her determination. Jane would never call Mjolnir just a hammer, and that puts a small, needy part of you to rest. There is a storm in the desert, and Thor comes to terms with all of his changes. The one where human-Thor has Lichtenberg figures. Rec: Incredibly poignant and the author makes a second-person POV work incredibly well. | 3.3k
Tell Me Something New by hariboo: "Compile the data of the reading we took during Convergence. The gravitational–“ She trails off, can’t finish the sentence out loud or in her mind, her voice catching on the words as Thor’s mouth latches onto her throat. Rec: Cute and hot and perfect because smart Jane is Thor’s biggest turn on. | 1.5k
On the Throne by murdur: His insistence that she should sit on the throne had been in jest and merriment, but the sight of her sitting upon the seat now makes his heart beat quick and steals his breath. Rec: Oh my god, Thor goes down on Jane while she sits on the throne of Asgard. I have nothing else to say. *dies* | <1k
Experience Counts for Something by Rozilla: Jane was surprised at Thor’s new female body- but pretty keen to explore it. Rec: Bisexual Jane and Genderfluid Thor are great. Some hot femslash fosterson. | 2.3k
Just Get In The Van by paxnirvana: Written for a prompt on Anenko’s Bad Sex & Awkward Romance: a comment-a-thon that got away from me. Rec: All first time sex is gonna be awkward, friends, even if you’re Jane and Thor. Might as well enjoy the ride. | 6.3k
close your eyes and count to ten by fuzzy_paint: Post battle, Jane and Thor make sure the other still lives. Rec: Reassurance of safety sex is hot. Sue me. Still manages to be angsty too. | 2.4k
We Woke Up In The Kitchen by hariboo: He didn’t think he could miss someone as he missed her, but there is something singular in Jane that pulls at him and threatens to overtake him. Rec: post-TDW sexies that are adorable and awkward and hot all at once, plus some really nice conversation at the end. This author just really gets Jane and Thor in a way that is always awesome to read. | 3.7k
A Helping Hand by fuzzy_paint: Jane can’t sleep. Thor has a solution. Rec: Some nice, cute sleepy!smut to help Jane to relax and stop thinking. | 1.5k
The Scientific Method by Serious Snugglebunnies: Thor is much too honourable to have meaningless sex with Jane - but will he do it for the sake of science? Rec: Cracky, hilarious, and hot. | 3.3k
A Thorny Situation by GreenVelvetCurtains: Jane has a problem and she’s not afraid to try and solve it. Rec: A hot fantasizing/masturbation piece starring the lovely Jane Foster. | 2.7k
Detours by ancarett: Life is a highway. Jane takes Thor on the detours. Missing moments from the movie. Rec: Some mildly awkward sex which is actually kind of adorable and works out for everyone in the end. Not my favorite smut ever, but worth a read. | 3.9k
Say It’s Okay by theleaveswant: Darcy gave her a sympathetic pout and walked around the table to put both hands on Jane’s upper arms. “Okay. Honey? I know this isn’t your preferred way of handling things, but it looks like you’re going to have to talk with him.” Rec: Big premium on 'consent is sexy.’ Jane teaches Thor how to pleasure her. Not my favorite smut, but worth a read. | 2.1k
Accretion by RC_McLachlan: "You are burning inside,” Thor whines, rolling his hips again, and she rides it out helplessly, eyes rolling back, lungs cramping with envy for air. “Like a star." Rec: A seriously hot look at the simple difference in size between Jane and Thor. | 1.6
Salt On Your Lips by Barkour: The strawberry daiquiri is indeed a drink worthy of adulation, but Thor prefers the taste of Jane Foster. Rec: For it’s sense of fun that comes with the sex, and the pure happiness of two people who simply enjoy being in each other’s company. | 2k
Good Morning by me: Jane wakes up with Thor between her legs.My addition to Fosterson Week’s smut day. Rec: Because it wouldn’t be a true reclist without a self-plug. | 2k
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by me: Jane and Thor do Christmas. (Finally.) Tis the season for holiday smut. Rec: Because it wouldn’t be a true reclist without a self-plug. | 5.4k
Your Highness by me: Jane wants something in bed and Thor is more than happy to oblige. For the first day of Fosterson Week, post-TDW. Rec: It’s not a true reclist without a self plug. | 6k
Not Your Average Star Trek Fanfiction by me: After several years of unresolved sexual tension, Jane and Thor are in quite a rush to rectify the situation. Takes place immediately following TDW. Rec: Because it wouldn’t be a true reclist without a self-plug. | 3.7k

Original request: @mirtaqueen Hi 😄 can I have a request , we are in thor2 and when Loki go to Odin in chains to talk to him, odin didn't say to him that he never see friga again but he say that marriage between reader and Loki is over and reader will be banish from asgard and that really hits Loki and brake him, so Loki try do everything to change odin mind, he will say with tears in the eyes that he can't take his queen from him and Frigga maybe say something and odin will change mind, pure fluff in the end 😄😄😄🙏
Words: 2.5k
Part: 1 / 2
A.N.: I just couldn't resist to make this story my own and do two parts 💗✨ I'm sorry if it's not exactly what you imagined, but I tried my best to do your awesome prompt justice 😄
Tumblr media
"Your birthright was to die!" Odin shouted, sitting up straight in his throne and leaning forward as a gesture of attempted intimidation. His voice echoed so loudly through the room that it seemed to cut through the silence as he glared down at a chained Loki. "As a child… Cast out onto a frozen rock. If I had not taken you in, you would not be here now to hate me."
Loki took a quick step forward and the guards jumped into action to hold him back by his chains. "If I'm for the act, then for mercy's sake just swing it." He looked down at his chained hands with a frown. "It's not that I don't love our little talks, it's just…" His eyes shot back up to meet his father's. "I don't love them."
Odin leaned back in his throne, only acknowledging Loki's words with a dismissive look. "Y/n is the only reason you're still alive and you will never see her again."
Loki's expression went from boredom and anger to shock and sorrow, but Odin continued without a change in his demeanor. "You'll spend the rest of your days in the dungeons."
The guards started pulling Loki backwards by his chains, urging him to return to his prison.
"And what of y/n?!" Loki yelled and refused to be dragged back, leaning harshly into the restraining metal which left bruises wherever it dug into his lean body. The thought of what would happen to you now that he had been arrested had occurred to him before, but only now did he realize that the chances were high that he'd never see you again. And that, to him, was absolutely no option.
"Y/n will be executed for helping you. She asked me to let you live and take her life instead, which, after thinking it through, I agreed to."
Loki felt the tears stinging in his eyes even before Odin had finished the sentence. Oh, his sweet y/n… he equally loved and hated that about you. That you always put him first.
"You can't do that…" He said and his voice broke, just like his heart did. Shock numbed his body like a dive in icy water. "She doesn't deserve it."
"You, my son, do not deserve for her to be yours." Odin replied sharply. "She is way better than you will ever be."
"I know." Loki breathed, more to himself than as an actual answer. But then, through the sorrow and pain, he willed himself to fight, to beg even if it only would save you. "She is the future queen of Asgard, you can't execute her! She is your family too! I beg you, switch our fates and I shall do anything you ask of me."
"One day your brother will marry and give this kingdom the queen it deserves. Someone less cunning and less vain. Y/n doomed herself when she married you." Odin commented coldly.
If Odin's constant praise of Thor made Loki angry, him insulting you had Loki burning with rage like two damn gold particles smashed together.
"How dare you!" He yelled and lunged forward, the guards hardly able to hold him back with four men on each side. "She is my queen and if you dare harming her I swear I will end you and everyone who tries to stop me."
Odin instinctively jumped a little, but quickly covered it up by raising to his feet and striding down the steps to stand in front of Loki. "You are just as vain as her if you think that empty threats will stop me from separating the two of you." He said quietly.
Loki glared at him for a moment, but then grinned wickedly. "You are afraid of her! Y/n threatened you to agree to her wish!"
"Don't be ridiculous!" Odin's voice thundered through the room, making the guards flinch. But not Loki. He knew what he needed to know and now was the time to plot.
With a small wave of his hand, Odin commanded the guards to return Loki to his cell and this time, he let it happen with a smirk on his face.
"Oh, and Loki… She will die in three days, at sunset." Odin added just before Loki was out of the room. And despite taking note of it, Loki's mind was too far gone to reply.
_______________
You were walking up and down in Loki's and your shared chamber, anxious and deep in thought. You hadn't had a chance to talk to Loki since he had been arrested. You must leave that to Odin, he was smart enough to realize that together, you and Loki would've plotted your escape long ago. But separated with no possibility to communicate, chances were high that this time he'd be able to keep Loki locked up for good. Locking you up, however, wasn't an option. You had your ways to escape and Odin knew that.
Before that, when you had heard that Odin wanted Loki executed, both you and Frigga, who you liked way better than Odin, had protested heavily.
But only upon your threat to reveal Odin's 'colorful' past to the entire kingdom, including his wife and sons, Odin finally agreed to have you executed instead. It hadn't been your intention to offer him your own death, but it was the only way to let Loki know you were working on something.
Rumor had it Odin had spoken with Loki in the throne room and you sincerely hoped that Loki had received your message.
Now all he needed to do was to wait and hope that you wouldn't screw up your plan.
You sat down on the bed and ran your hands through your hair. It all was such a mess… and only because that large purple asshole by the name of Thanos had gotten hold of you, tortured you and thereby forced Loki to attack midgard and convince everyone that it was him who wanted to rule over it. You sighed and absentmindedly traced your fingers over the already faint scar on your ribcage. The memory of Loki's panicked face when he had first found out what Thanos had done to you made your heart squeeze painfully. He'd been the closest to breaking you'd ever seen and the memory of it still stung. But then again, Loki and you had spent months of plotting to make sure to kill Thanos before he could hurt anyone else. That alone should be enough to be forgiven, but for the sake of universal peace, you had agreed to keep it to yourselves for now. After all, who'd believe you or even remotely understand what it had taken to end the titan? It was the single last advantage you had, the ace up your sleeve.
A knock on your door pulled you back to the present.
"Come in." You called and the door was opened slowly, revealing a servant girl. As your eyes met, she looked away quickly.
"Your majesty, I'm sorry for the interruption." She said quietly.
"It's fine, you're always welcome. But I told you a hundred times before to not call me 'your majesty'! I'm not the current queen and I'm not going to be one either." You laughed and waved the girl inside.
"I think you will be a wonderful queen one day, and prince Loki a great king." She said sincerely, and you felt bad that no one had told her the truth. It was a well-kept secret that neither of you would live to see that day.
"What's the news?" You asked overly cheerful.
The young girl smiled at you. "Her Royal Highness Queen Frigga wishes to speak with you."
"Ah." You smiled back as convincingly as you could in the dire light of your situation. "Just as I expected."
_______________
Loki was sitting in his white cell, eyes closed and trying to concentrate despite the awful noises the other prisoners were making. He'd cast an illusion of himself reading peacefully, because right now, he couldn't be bothered to answer to guards asking what he was up to. If he was honest with himself, he was equally proud and grateful that you were so incredibly clever: You had sent him a clear message and were working on getting him out of this mess. However he also felt utterly useless; every time something happened to him you were there to save his sorry ass in the last second, but when you were in danger, he felt like he failed you. You were so strong, his solid rock in a raging ride, and he was merely the pebble on the shore. He shook the thought out of his head.
Now, he needed to understand his part in the plan, the plan that most likely included some way to save him at any cost and if fate would allow it, also yourself. He'd never forgive himself if he survived and you didn't… without you, living wasn't worth a single thing. If only he could hold you in his arms one more time, kiss you with his last breath and tell you that he loves you more than words could fathom. If only he could be with you right now, somewhere far away… You should've ran when you still had the chance. But the chance was gone and he needed to act.
So he jumped to his feet and started pacing from wall to wall with a deep frown.
If you had found something you could use against Odin, that was a huge advantage. Loki didn't know what it was, but he could imagine that it didn't matter either. He trusted you and your judgement, maybe even more than his own in some cases.
First things first, he needed to make sure that you weren't harmed, maybe buy you some more time.
With a snap of his fingers the illusion vanished and he stepped towards the open end of his cell.
"I'd like to see my mother!" He called out to the guards down the hall. "I'd very much welcome it if you could send her to me."
_______________
A few minutes later Loki heard footsteps of approximately four people coming down the hallway towards him. When he looked up from his book he found that indeed, four people were standing in front of his cell. Three of them were guards and the fourth looked like his mother.
"Hello, dear…" She said and gave the guards a sign to open the barrier for her to enter, then a sign for them to leave. With a formal bow they hurried off back to their posts.
Loki walked closer to her until there were mere inches between the two of them.
"Hello y/n." He breathed with a slow smirk.
The illusion faltered and finally vanished, revealing your grinning face.
"How did I do?" You chuckled.
Loki grinned at you, opening his mouth to say something, but closed it again and shook his head slightly.
"Last time we met you couldn't do that little magic trick." He finally remarked, looking at you so adoringly that you felt your heart beat faster.
"Oh I can do way more than that." You winked. "Your mother has been teaching me for quite a while now… I wanted it to be a surprise, but then all this happened… and well. Surprise!"
"God, I love you so much…" He sighed and captured your lips in a passionate kiss, filled with the longing and despair of the last few days.
After what seemed like a little eternity of just holding each other, you finally pulled away.
"Listen, I know you will hate my plan, but you need to trust me with this. Okay?" You asked quietly, resting your forehead against Loki's.
"I always trust you, with everything I have." He said sincerely. "What do I need to do?"
_______________
A high pitched scream echoed around the dungeons, followed by heavy crying and finally, a loud cracking sound. When the guards came rushing towards the cell a few seconds later, they stopped dead in their tracks and stared into the cell. It was pitch black, holding a darkly opaque smoke inside.
"Loki, stop this nonsense!" One of the guards exclaimed. "We know of the illusional games you play! What's happening in there?"
The smoke slowly dissolved and the guards could see more and more of what was happening inside. There stood Loki, in the middle of the room, his clothes covered in blood and leisurely smirking at the guards. In front of him lay your dead body. Your neck was twisted in an unnatural way, and your wide eyes were staring lifelessly towards the guards. The once white walls of the cell were now bright red, smeared and covered in blood.
At the shocked glances of the guards, Loki merely smirked. "She was becoming beyond annoying, and she wasn't even supposed to be in here! I did you a favor!"
Immediately they opened the barriers, pushing Loki back into a corner with their spears while he had his hands risen in defeat, showing them he was no threat. A guard checked on your body while three others kept their weapons pointed at Loki.
Suddenly the barrier closed behind their backs, locking them into the cell. Shocked, they turned to see Loki and a perfectly alive y/n standing outside, smiling innocently at them while their doppelganger illusions dissolved inside the cell.
The guards shouted and tried to make the barriers go down again, but of course they failed miserably.
"Whew, that worked…" You chuckled, giving Loki a high-five.
"I'm so proud of you." He said and kissed your forehead. "My sweet little y/n can do magic now…"
You punched him in the shoulder with a small laugh. "Call me 'sweet and little' once more and I'll put you right back into that cell."
"Yes ma'am." He winked at you. "What's next? Do we run?"
You let out a small sigh, pulling him with you down the hallway and out of the dungeons. Just when you reached the top of the stairs, you stopped. With another sigh, you concentrated on the task at hand and changed your appearance to that of Loki, who stared at you in confusion.
"C'mon, we don't have a lot of time. From now on just go along with whatever happens, okay? I've got this figured out..." You said to Loki in his own voice, making him snort.
"Alright…" He sighed, changing into you.
"Promise me you won't freak and ruin the whole thing! Oh, and you should trust your mom. She's in on this. Now watch what would happen if we would just run." You said quietly just as a small army of guards came rushing towards you.
In the matter of mere seconds, they had you in chains and dragged you back down into the dungeons, while Loki was pushed towards the throne room. It all happened so fast that Loki couldn't even say goodbye. But one thing he was certain of: your plan was working and he didn't know if he liked it.

iw SPOILERS
alrighty folks, i need to do a ramble. i saw infinity war, rest is under the cut of course. so SPOILERS!!!!!!
i HATED IT SO FUCKING MUCH SO FUCKING FUCIKING MUCH
alright. let’s get the big thoughts out of the way first. i am not mad people died, i also am not lying on the floor crying like so many have written they do. i feel nothing and it’s infuriating.
you know that effect when the scale goes up and up and up and it becomes less relatable in its one-upmanshit of itself? that was a typo and im not going to fix it. oneupmanshit. there you go.
thanos is a huge problem, i didn’t give a damn in the trailers, thought they might do stuff.. but.. omnipotence is just sooooo fuuuuucking boooooring and his motivations are “i do evil things because of a messed up conviction” but on the largest scale where it just seems so ridiculous and i can’t take him seriously even as he plows through the heros. his little lovey-dovey gamora moments don’t do shit considering how he raised her, set against her sister and all that. your love isn’t redeeming if it’s BIG-TIME abusive you fucking grapesicle.
okay so that’s thanos.
i think the plot and writing was exceptionally bad. everything that happens seemed to VERY obviously set up something they wanted to happen, which is how plots work but you’re not supposed to notice. and if the things that happen don’t make sense, it becomes even worse. just one example was stark’s line of we need to find vis, who might be able to find him “steve rogers might” why would he though?
steve isn’t this huge wealth of intelligence (as in knowledge and information, not smarts), if he had said natasha, that would’ve made sense. if he said wanda, that would have made sense. but no, we needed to set up the civil war talk and steve’s name had a bigger impact. bullshit.
OHOHOH, i should really talk about loki though. i got the feeling the russos just had no idea what to do with him and didn’t care. the only way his final actions make sense is if you view it as “suicide by thanos”. like. standing in front of thanos, giving him some weak drivel about pledging loyalty and then summoning a butter knife in the back of his hand, while thanos’ buddies stand behind HIM, and straight on attack? bull-fucking-shit. i could see how his final words might have been to thor, to say “hey, we’re family, goodbye” and shit.. but in his current state of mind and in that moment, it’s so out of character to do what he did.
loki would have slunk into the shadows, maybe fake being killed so that thanos might feel he had his fun and leave thor. which is what i hope happened, but somehow i don’t believe it anymore, since he would have been blown into space too, i guess. i had hopes he’d snuck onto the donut maybe, but.. nah.. probably not. though i WILL fantasize about loki being on titan too, with a very messed up tony. oh wait, quill’s alive too... right...
great scene by the way, on titan, kill all the aliens and let three human white dudes sitting there. eh, two. strange died too.
-breeeeeathe-
alrighty.
so, treatment of loki put me in a very bad headspace. they didn’t even bother showing the setup of that scene. bruce knows loki was sent by thanos. we will never know what loki actually said to them before they were borded, it’s just cast aside.
so, i am willing to attribute a lot of my grievances with this piece of shit movie to an opening scene that pissed me off ROYALLY. i wouldn’t have minded him dying per se, i was expecting it kind of, but the way they did crushed my suspension of disbelief. the bad writing continued to do that, so i was beside the movie, watching from the outside for the entire time and completely emotionally detached.
i wanted to go home to watch inane let’s plays and play idle games, i did not give a single fuck. i tried, i wanted to like the movie. i even came up with all sorts of plottwists, that might have made things interesting. one of which would be a heel-turn of thor where he kills thanos and takes the gauntlet, now THAT would have been cool and actually sort of in character. i liked his heart-to-heart with rocket about not having anything left, so... i could see it.
my mind supplied all these alternate developments to try and redeem what i was seeing, but no.. aaaaaand the disintegrating. now. infinity gauntlet complete, thanos nopes out of wakanda and half the universe dies. no send-off, no context. it felt like MARVEL culling the herd, that’s gotten to big, it felt fake and random. i mean it was supposed to be random in canon, but it really jsut felt to me like feige standing there with a clipboard going “okay black panther is gonna bomb, don’t need t’challa anymore i guess.... let’s see... bucky, eeh.. let’s kill all this stucky talk. who else. vis, out. (i was gald about that one actually)”
[and would they have killed of t’challa if they had known how well bp was received? maybe they thought it would just add some one-time “flavor” and be like this “see, we can have an african lead too” that didn’t need to be made any deeper. ugh.]
like the only death that had an impact was peter, he’s the only one that got sort of a send-off. i guess bucky, because he was the first, felt special too. it was sooo lazyyyy....
it’s like, we need to kill many people, but it’s also a disney movie so it cannot feel too much like a massacre. it just fucking sucked.
romance! eh. yeah. watching a 20-year old woman with a 2-year old man who looks about 60 is just so many shades of wrong and uncomfortable, god am i glad vision is gone.
there was the obligatory bruce-nat glances, but nothing more. there was a bit of tony-pepper stuff, and i hate that ship. squicks me the f out for some reason. one of them being that they reconciled off-screen in homecoming and i have never seen how there’s anything more than friendship between them, i see the two as a brother/sister like relationship, so the forced romance and marriage and all that, ugh.
quill and gamora is actgually pretty sweet, their moments also provide character development, i like.
ooookay that was a long one and i got a lot off my chest. i just felt hollow and like i wouldn’t be excited about anything in life anymore, i still feel like it tbh. even though i tried to not get hyped about it, because i had tons of doubt, i wanted to enjoy the movie and i so thoroughly didnt, that i do not feel like seeing another marvel movie ever again, and that is some strong shit.
i have measured my life in “how long until thor2″ and “just half a year to civil war” and stuff like that, so... it feels like a huge loss. hope ill get some excitement back somehow, just now i feel nothing but cynical and jaded and i hate it. i like to like things, i like being positive about things and i tried, i really tried.
fuck you marvel

Movies, I love movies...
Okay, it's happening again. Getting addicted to thing, I mean. And wanting to share my addiction and shout it to the world but not having even friends to open up to... So, Tumblr, here I'm again, basically talking to walls I guess but it's okay 'cause I've got used to it. (Basically my whole life has been that idk.)
I've had flu for the past 4 days so I've just stayed at home watching tv all day. Yesterday I started feeling like watching those (newer) Marvel movies that I haven't watched before so yesterday, I started with Iron Man 2 (which I also have had on dvd for years but have never watched that) and watched couple of movies I hadn't seen yet and now I'm pissed because I want to watch more and on Netflix (Finland at least) there's every Captain America movie but I really don't want to watch the third one when there's two other movies between them BUT THOSE ARE NOT ON NETFLIX and I don't know what I'm gonna do with my life. I want to watch more but I just hate to do things in "wrong order", no ocd here (at least something that ISN'T mental in my life wooohoo), but it's just something I like and what makes me happy. But also annoyed sometimes. You know, I have the second Thor on dvd (I might have a little obsession with pairings and I regretted buying that dvd but I did it just because of the pairing, now how pathetic is that? :DDDDDDD) but I don't have the first one. And every time I see that dvd at supermarkets I just WANT to buy it so bad because it looks stupid to have only tje 2nd in my shelf but I don't want to buy it because only thing I like in that movie is Loki and, yeah, I don't want the DVD but I want it. Struggle is real!!!!!!!!
...so I need to see more but I guess I have to start searching for the missing movies as DVDs in order to watch the rest if the movies on Netflix 😐 (One day, I swear, I will buy that first Thor dvd so it doesn't look so idiotic to have just Thor2 next to Iron Man and Iron Man 2 dvds hnnnnngh---)
Also I struggled because I felt like watching all of the movies in order but I didn't feel like rewatching some of them and I couldn't stop thinking about how this comes after this which I have seen but a long time ago argh what am i gonna do??? Well ended up just rewinding them to see if I remember everything and to see if I had watched through the end credits too.
[[[HERE I NEEDED THE READ MORE LINK BUT FORGOT HOW TO ADD IT ON MOBILE??? Or did the app just change?]]]
About the Marvel movies overall... Well I grew up with "superhero movies" and I'll always be tru Batman fan and I'll avoid this reboot of the DC franchise as I'm this stupid avoid-all-what's-mainstream kinda person who loves to stick to the "old stuff", and I've also watched lots of Marvel movies and have collected some of those on dvds as well.
I'm proudly one of those who love the original Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire. For me it's special because I was 13 or so when I first saw it on tv and it touched me because I was heavily bullied and rejected at school and it just made me feel better to see someone going through bullying and then finally defending themselves.
X-Men was also another trilogy that I used to watch and that I liked a lot and I still do. I have each of them on dvd. X-Men are still my favorite from Marvel and I grew a huge obsession to Deadpool a while before his first movie and there's no turning back, I'm still a huge fan and can't wait for the second movie and if had to talk using internet slang, DP would probably be my spirit animal. I'm still annoyed he has to be just a comic book character but fortunately we have Ryan Reynolds there somewhere which is almost like having the real DP in this world.
With the newer movies... Idk why they never got me. Maybe it's the same as with Batman: I love the Batman universe but I act like no other DC universe existed and I ALWAYS hated Superman (Lego Batman would be proud wait what?) when I was a kid so I guess it was same thing with the X-Men for me. And Spider-Man. Actually I think it's this my issue with not being able to adjust to new things that easily that made me not to be interested in those newer movies and I just stuck to the X-Men franchise and spent my energy for new things with Nolan's Batman trilogy.
I don't even know why and when I got that Iron Man dvd but must have been my first newer-Marvel dvd. I guess Robert Downey Jr. was the biggest reason and honestly, I still don't know if I like Iron Man because of Iron Man or because of Robert Downey Jr. 🤔 Anyway, I like Iron Man best from all these and I actually have liked all three movies too. For me they've been more interesting than... the rest? (of what I've seen so far.)
At first I was also annoyed by Captain America's character and I don't even know why. He seemed so negative for some reason - remember that at that time I had seen him only in the Avengers movie - but actually both of what I watched today were pretty interesting. (And I found a ship and can't see anything from behind it anymore. Probably the reason why these movies got so much more interesting so fast..... Sorry, can't help myself.)
I guess the only movies I didn't like that much were both Thor movies and Avengers. Why? Thor is basically a love story and I can't stand love stories and I can't understand love or romance. So I'm just fed up with all that cheesy romantic love story that I just wanna puke. I don't remember if the second movie was any better. I've watched it only once. But I rewinded it today and it seemed boring, mainly cause I could remember every scene as I saw the little images. And Avengers then? Well it's okay, I guess I just was so inspired by Loki's "You're free from freedom" speech that it woke up the anarchist in me that I can't remember anything but Loki and how I melted into another identity crisis and started hating society for not having freedom over my own life because some idiot once invented money and rules. (I'm too kind you know...) Otherwise it was bit cheesy and cliché, I was able to "predict" what's gonna happen so I was probably great company while watching the movie because I couldn't keep my mouth shut and kept telling what happens and "didn't I just say???" and kept criticizing everything they did cause HOW MUCH MORE WRONG CAN YOU GET? Like what about CPR instead of watching your friend die who didn't even die, what about pulse or breath, you know?
But I don't think these are that bad at all. It's just. Funny to see how the plots are usually built the same way. Evil vs good, two different plots told to the audience and these plots will be connected towards the end. After watching this many superhero movies you just KNOW who will be the main villain in this particular one because of the way they're portrayed. Either something completely opposite loser-like OR something mysterious and nameless, powerful and feared character whose face is not seen at the beginning at all. Yeah, I hate clichés. Also with Marvel (minus X-Men) everything often seem to be so black and white. Either it's bad or good but there's no in-between and good will get bad when infected or enchanted or manipulated whatsoever and in the end they will always be back to being good. (With Batman I love how psychological everything is and nothing is black and white. Same with X-Men, it's not always good or bad but just people being imperfect and different.)
I think the main thing to inspire me to start watching these was the LEGO Marvel's Avengers game, it was about the movies and the levels were interesting. Also a while ago I saw the first Captain America movie on tv but couldn't watch it then and every now and then I've felt like I want to hear his story so yeah, I watched some of these today and was not disappointed, at all.
DISCLAIMER: So these are all my own thoughts and opinions so please don't get mad. Or do if you feel like that? My purpose is not to make anyone mad but just talk nonsense to myself but as I hate hearing my voice, I rather do that by writing somewhere instead of really talking to myself. I hate fighting (but live a good talk!) anyway so take it as honest opinions, just my thoughts written down. Not all can like the same things nor can all dislike the same things either. Thank you.

Out of all the problems with MCU portrayal of their main characters the most disturbing I find is the lack of dignity. Of course, this thought came from my inner Loki rants, where I cursed Joss for stripping Loki of almost all his potential and leaving fans to scramble the pieces and construct something noteworthy.
(Far more text than I anticipated)
This toothlessness destroys not only my respect for an antagonist, but also diminishes the protagonists' accomplishments, renegating them to a well-lit and well moving circus attraction.
Dignity brings respect, and what is an enemy if you can't respect them? What is a character if you're unwilling to learn from them? I'll digress - one of my faves of all time is Marta Jones from Doctor Who. I don't know a lot of people who love her to the same degree I do, preferring other companions for their reasons. But I've always loved Martha, because she observed the situation she was in, decided she disliked it enough to change and followed through with her decision. Epic love and sacrifices are often preferred and, if done right, heartwrenching, but this quiet bravery is what I admire and her farewell scene is often at the back of my mind when I hesitate to act.
How can I respect Thor if I’ve never seen his remorse, his pain and hesitation lingering for years, his speech or action patterns affected by his worldview changing? As far as I see in the first Avengers, he’s perfectly okay with attacking natives just because. Yes, I see, it’s so very different from his behaviour in Jotunheim. For that matter, in AoU he’s not better, in Thor2 his character is better described with the word ‘imbecilic’, and what, I should suddenly like a character who mindlessly enjoys torture? Because that scene in Ragnarok doesn’t really paint the protagonist in the best light. Great, he has his flaws, it makes him more real and approachable, doesn’t it? Oel, look, he does a lot of good! Well, I see someone who does what is convenient for him, and his hardships, well. Hmm. His coronation was interrupted, his uncalled for attack on a foreign state was met with a really mild punishment and while losing his brother is shown as an extremely painful and traumatic event, by the time Avengers roll in, Thor is apparently fine manhandling said brother (which I’ll see again, nice tactic, shake a stabbed person as hard as you can, Thor, it’ll help!) and being dismissive and condescending. What a life changing weekend! Who might have thought a couple of days against thousands of years might be not really that effective? Oh, wait, he was shaken by his brother’s brutal death again, ah, nah, wait, let them giggle with his gf, ok. love will conquer all and protagonist’s morally right love interest is totaly more important than his companion of hundreds of years. Nothing new here.
It’s interesting, that Thor is constantly given reward for not really impressive feats, while Loki is forced into traumatic situations and is punished for not reacting to them as a cliche gold-hearted hero; all via the omnipotence of Plot Convenience. Thor is not really loyal - he is at best scatter brained about both his Asgard shieldbrothers and the Earth ones. I’ve yet to see him making sacrifices for the good of his people, being torn between matters of the state and his own petty pleasures. I’d like that! At least I’d know that he’s worth more than his muscle weight. No, this is not a hero who incites respect and wish to be more like the hero! I have more duties than him, for fuck’s sake!
Then Loki, who is relatable in the matter that he’s so often torn between possibilities and choices, and simply by the fact that any choice is bad or will blow in your face but you need to choose anyway, that’s fucking life! - Loki is denied respect by the writers and it feels like a slap to my face, because I can’t relate to Odin, or (a really cold-minded woman) Frigga, or Thor and his psychotic groupies, their problem even in concept and scale are foreign and ridiculous for me.
So, dignity, treat your characters with dignity, they are the manifestation of your experience and turmoil of all kinds, respect yourself!

I really like Thor's hair in TDW , they really did an amazing job and chris looked so good in that movie just like God of thunder
I read 'just like God intended' instead of 'just like God of thunder' and was like yes exactly!
But yes yes and yes! It's the best hairstyle because it was Chris' orginal hair.
Tumblr media
He was his leanest in it and I love that physique on him.
Tumblr media
(sorry for the gratuitous shot my point is only how lean he was in it)
I love his characterization in it. I love how kind and sweet he was. He was thoughtful and observant. He thought about others. He stood up to his father and did the right thing. He did right by Jane as well. I love him so much.
And then I remember how vehemently Chris hates him and I get sad.

Thank you for the tag @haeva 🥺
Last song: If I ever by Conor Maynard
Currently watching: last thing I watched was S1 of Emily in Paris and I'm currently reading 'the secret'.
3 ships: I got 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I've said, Tyler x Nik is just my personal interpretation because I mean they're taking bullets for each other???? But I'd be okay if canon doesn't go there. But if Thor doesn't get to have babies with Jane, it's on sight for Marvel.
Favourite colour: black and red
Currently consuming: nothing atm
First ship: I shipped Alexis and Starscream from Transformers Armada back in the day because I thought that was what the show was going for. And I was like 'wow interspecies romance' (foundation for ThorJane lol). and Musa x Riven from Winx Club (don't look at me!)
Relationship status: don't want any more trauma.
Last movie: May December 3 months ago
Currently working on: You'd think after writing a 10k word essay on how my man is wronged by Marvel, I'd calm down. But uhhh I have ideas that haunt me for 7 more essays: 1. In defense of Thor's characterization in Thor2 2. How to make the audience sympathize with a character: Wanda vs Thor 3. Why Thor4's ending with the child sucks 4. Thor3 didn't manage the tone well either 5. Korg - the worst supporting character 6. The tragedy of being a Thor fan (fandom experience) 7. The brutality toward Thor (by his storytellers)
And some fanfics: 1. missing scene after Thor4 ship kiss where they actually do it because f you marvel they deserved moments of love w each other and not die celibate like you. 2. post Thor4 dream sequence where he begs her to come back to him. 3. their experiences after separating (him finding out she got wiped out by thanos, knowing she was brought back to life, and a scene w mantis right before Thor4 parallel w Jane finding out she has c*ncer). 4. tyler ovi reunion fic where tyler runs into ovi unexpectedly and they get to be father-son for a night.

I understand that you appreciated enough things about Love & Thunder (as in Jane's scenes, Thorjane, etc) to consider it canon, but what are your thoughts on the Thor2 deleted break up? I can't help but prefer them breaking up because of the long distance, or Jane being so overwhelmed that she "couldn't imagine a life with him" after everything, than what we got in canon. Maybe my opinion would change if I watched the movie, not sure, but I'm interested in your take on it.
*takes a deep breath* Buckle up.
1. I appreciate you saying whether I'd consider anything canon or not. Buddy, my acceptance is irrelevant. Anything Marvel puts out IS canon, regardless of how we feel about it. That's the whole entire reason I can't let this shit go. Because he's CANONICALLY drilled into the ground by Marvel with nowhere to go. And it depresses me.
2. I hate both break-up scenes because I simply don't want my OTP separated. Period. But if I have to validate any one, I'd go with Thor4 because at least its idea was understandable, the issue was its failed execution. The Thor2 breakup makes no sense and regresses their characters. The two reasons you present that the movie presents:
a) Breaking up because of long distance is such a bastardization of their magical relationship that transcends realms that I just cannot. He's not a coworker or a one-night stand she tried to have a relationship with and decided it wasn't working out. He's the Prince of the paradise in the clouds that's advanced to her realm by a millennium. He's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as far as boyfriends go lol. And his mother died to protect her. Why? Because she had all but accepted her as her daughter-in-law.
You don't just break up with THAT because of long distance, that's unbelievably simplistic.
Tumblr media
b) Jane being overwhelmed that she "couldn't imagine a life with him" is also against her character because she is such a zero self-preservation inquisitive soul that was so fascinated by Asgard's advanced technology, she would be at home on Asgard. She would want to be with him and explore his magical world she's studied about her whole life.
And ok, she was so overwhelmed that she would dump him. For what? To return to her boring 9 to 5 life and do theories of the phenomenons she could do practicals of on Asgard. That makes no sense with Jane's character.
Or she was so scared by the challenges of a life with him (even tho she was ready to die saving him a scene ago) that she just quit? That's not the Jane I know either. She takes challenges head-on and is not a quitter.
The ONLY reason she would break up with him is for him - like I said in my theory that Odin made her do it.
3. Even from a story-telling perspective, it was a terrible choice because it resets every character to their factory settings, rendering the development of Thor1 and 2 completely pointless. Jane becomes a meaningless person forgotten going forward. Thor and Odin are chilling in Asgard with nothing to do and Loki and Frigga are dead with their sacrifices for Thor and Jane amounting to a big fat 0. Why dedicate two whole movies to their romance only to break up because of freakin long distance?
You can't have the event of Ragnarok with Thor in Asgard. You can't have him on Midgard for Avengers movies. What is the point of this then?
-
Not to elongate an already long answer, but I always thought the plan was to make her the Queen of Asgard, the perfect foil for King Thor. Her love and quest for knowledge + kindness to help shirtless strangers combined with Thor's sense of justice and protection of his people would make them the PERFECT rulers. Do you know what I'd give for this to be Thor's final ending in the MCU?
Like, I thought she was written to be so fascinated with the stars beyond because that where she belongs. That's where she'll rule. That if anyone from Midgard in the MCU was meant to leave it and stay on Asgard their whole life, it's Jane because she's so far ahead of her time.
But I was Boo Boo the Fool. Her entire purpose in life was to die for him. Because Marvel's all about feminism.

how does it feel knowing that thor and jane, even though they weren't together in a whole thor movie, had more kissing scenes than other mcu canon couples? (pepperony and steggy) 😅 we stay winning
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(behind the scenes where Chris' hair got stuck in between and they started laughing)
WE DO STAY WINNING! :D
It's not that they weren't together for even a movie. Thor1 was them getting together, They stayed together through Thor2 and BEYOND. And then were again together in Thor4. So, I see that as 3 full movies. But yeah, they have MUCH MORE than any other couple.
Of Marvel's ships, Pepperony and ThorJane got the most legwork. Pepperony got to get together, live together, propose, get married, and have a child. But their 'break' and getting back together didn't get the attention it deserved. With ThorJane, we got to see everything: getting together, being together, being in a live-in relationship, HIM WANTING BABIES WITH HER, even the breakup, aftermath, and getting back together.
Also, Thor4 is Marvel's first love story - so that's another W.
Marvel seem to want a one true love for most of their heroes, especially the big three. That's why they pulled Steve x Peggy in the end out of nowhere. Tony got to live a life w Pep. And I do believe the reason they brought back Thor x Jane when it was SO over was because they want that for Thor as well. And I will jump from my rooftop when we get to see Thor x Jane again.

(he always gives her goodbye kisses (forehead kiss !!!!) let me lie down 😭)

I was listening to Hozier - Francesca and this lyrics "My life was a storm since I was born, how could I fear any hurricane?" felt so fitting for thor ♥
Dang, that's so apt on him! :)
Do you guys how many songs/lyrics I have in my language that are so him but I can never share them with the class? :(
But I'd still share this one because it's the first song I associated with him: Laal Ishq (Red Love).
I'm sharing the vid with English subtitles. Interestingly, this movie was a Romeo Juliet adaptation (that's why the song has lines 'call me but love') and Patty Jenkins totally intended to make Thor2 like Romeo Juliet cause that's how she saw his situation w Jane.

So Thor's whole internal journey throughout thor2 is that he's coming to the slow realisation and acceptance that Odin's Asgard is the seat of a terrible empire and that Actually Colonialism Is Bad and that Odin may be a good king (debatable) but he is an awful man.
And I'm wondering how much of that realisation is being fueled by the fact that Odin is willing to totally discard Loki the minute he stops being useful to him and stops towing the line.
My reading of Thor's last words to Loki ("I'll tell father what you've done here today") come from a place of having spent the past x??? amount of time trying and failing to understand his father's perspective, trying and failing to fit himself into the mould his father has cast for him, trying and failing to orient his entire worldview around upholding Odin's laws and respecting Odin's priorities and staying within the good graces of Odin's approval. And then Loki hits him with "I didn't do it for him", which is fully "I didn't die for him" but also "I didn't live for him" and Thor's just like FUCK, YOU'RE RIGHT, I SHOULDN'T BE LIVING FOR ODIN EITHER I DON'T EVEN LIKE THAT FUCKER
(seriously how much time is meant to have passed between Loki's arrest and Thor abdicating cos it sure feels like 3 days but then Loki's like "after all this time now you come to see me" which, if it was indeed 3 days, wow loki, fuckin chill dude, maybe he was busy or something)
Like, I think Thor doesn't visit Loki in prison because he's trying to be Odin (who absolutely would have gone on a thing about "he's not my son anymore//he's not your brother") and he absolutely tells Loki that he's going back to prison after their little revenge jaunt because he's trying to be Odin
(like who is that, cos that's not Thor. Thor with his endless capacity for compassion and forgiveness? Thor who wanted to undo the destruction of NY with Loki together. Thor who was told gamora was the daughter of the man who killed the love of his life his brother and told her he didn't hold her accountable.)
Like he's trying to be Odin harder than Odin is trying to be Odin in the moment Frigga dies; he's trying to be Odin after Odin has gone straight up fucking mad and is trying to martyr all of Asgard in recompense for his bad conscience.
Every time he does something Odin wouldn't have done, he declares himself selfish and fucking course corrects afterwards
He has swallowed the whole fucking bottle of Odin's particular brand of toxic masculinity/bad dude-good king juice up until the moment Loki dies and then it all comes up at once, and he fucking hates himself for not having just said fuck you to Odin and been himself. He hates that after Loki "died" in thor1, that when they all drew together and mourned, that Odin pulled him from his moorings by telling him that he was his only son now and that he would have to do and be everything now, he'd have to get used to being alone, and he didn't know what else to do other than to let Odin remake him, and he hates that he let that happen. He hates that he’s become a man his brother doesn’t recognise in order to become the man his father wants him to be.
SO HE FUCKING LEAVES ODIN LOL
tldr everything is Odin's fault
