thinking about when my uncle died in...1994? from aids related complications and we were all in the apartment he shared with my grandmother afterwards (as like a wake or whatever) and after a while I was So Done being sad and just sitting and crying with everyone that I got it in my head to go outside and play - took a ball, fully intent on like - he would play, this is stupid - and then my dad yelled at me since I made for the door. Had to sit back down and just....wait.
#i don't know what this says about me and grieving#i was telling my friend last night like. maybe it's because I'm dissassociating or something#but I've experienced like. death (not a parent but other relatives)#and ALSO#the unique phenomenon of having people that are integrated into your life so deeply and then one day they just aren't.#you stop talking or they erase all existence of themselves from you#it's not death it's not the same but the grief of never seeing them again or talking to them again seems the same To Me#this is just How It Is
