My OCs on Thanksgiving
I'm not sure if they celebrate Thanksgiving in canon, but if they did, this is how it would go:
Frost: Stays in the kitchen all day. He possesses several secret family recipes, has been baking all day, and doesn't plan on stopping until he has succeeded in bringing holiday joy to everyone in attendance. Is definitely wearing a "kiss the cook" apron or something like that.
Em: Blasts Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" on repeat until his friends nearly strangle him. Afterwards he blasts other Christmas music. Won't stop talking about how it's finally Christmas time even though he's had decorations up since Halloween. Messes with his friends every chance he gets. One year he stole the turkey, and it took 3 hours for his friends to find it. He barely escaped with his life that year, so he sticks to smaller pranks now.
Quinn: She's been distracting her and Em's toddler (who let Em have a kid??), and keeping both the child and her husband out of the kitchen. She doesn't plan on letting anyone go home until the apartment is clean. Everyone thinks it was Em who put up the mistletoe, but it was her.
JJ: Self-appointed head chef. He and Frost somehow produce an adequate Thanksgiving meal without burning the apartment building down. Won't stop talking about his work at dinner. He does have some interesting stories to tell about his exploits as a vigilante, so his friends don't mind too much.
Avenger: Stuffs herself at dinner, takes a nap, and then proceeds to totally destroy everyone at Settlers of Catan. She even gets JJ under the mistletoe at one point (they're dating). Overall has a very satisfying time, despite Em's antics.
Amie (the toddler): Pretends to shoot everyone in attendance with her finger guns at least once. Spends a lot of time watching Frost's desserts bake in the oven. Starts crying because she's not allowed to take things out of the oven, but she's overall pretty happy to have so many people giving her attention. Draws a picture of the event, which Em and Quinn proudly stick on the fridge.

One of the hard parts about being a writer with a vivid imagination is that there are So Many Ideas, and they fall into so many categories, such as
Fics I want to write
Fics I want to read
There is just One Scene and I could write it but it would be waaaay more cool if I had all the build up to the scene but unfortunately. I can only figure out the Scene
I keep changing my mind. Where am I going with this
This has been done a million times before. But. Hear me out
I will 100% Never Write This. This is just my Emotional Support Idea no one can ever know about bc it makes sense only to me
Would be better as a comic...
This will be my magnum opus if I can just get my 50 pages of ideas into a coherent narrative
All I have are vibes
And, of course
WIP I started and haven't updated in 2 years and oh god its beEN TWO YEARS???

Sleeping Beauty-esque au where Dream wants to Stop Living but doesn’t want to go through making someone be his replacement (being Dream of the Endless is so hard, how cruel would it be to subject that role to someone else?) and it occurs to him that he is the Dreaming and the Dreaming is him so what if he just… took one of those out of the equation? As long as there is a Dreaming then technically there is a Dream even if he’s not human-shaped anymore and so one day he goes into one of the gardens and he lays down and closes his eyes and lets Dream the Person sink into Dream the Place.
Matthew comes looking for him and gets lost because his magic-raven-senses, which are supposed to always know where Dream is, are telling him he’s everywhere?? And finally he stumbles upon a body, still breathing but with moss and ivy and briars slowly growing around him, a living body being reclaimed by nature and Matther naturally freaks the fuck out, clawing at the plants and pecking at Dream’s hands and pulling his hair to try to wake him but all it does is make the ivy grow faster and he’s pushed back by a gust of wind that feels like a sigh.
Cursing as loud as a raven is capable of, he books it back to Lucienne, and it takes a few minutes for her to make sense of his panicked cawing but then she is dropping the book in her hands and rushing to call anyone she can think of, which includes both the rest of the Endless and also one particular immortal human because that’s how desperate she feels.
And then it’s a line of people taking turns sitting next to Dream the Body, gently pushing back the greenery around him, some of them sobbing when they see how the plants are starting to grow through him, and the body is still breathing but it’s decomposing, sinking deeper into the landscape, and it’s hard to tell but they think Fiddler’s Green is crying, pleading with the Dreaming itself to walk on two legs again.
I think eventually Hob, who has been coming and speaking every night in his sleep, trying to bribe and barter and goad his friend to come back to them, finally snaps when he comes and sees Dream’s body completely covered by moss and vines, looking for all the world like just an uneven patch of field, and he thrusts his hands into the earth and physically tears Dream out, standing and dragging him away from the plants that reach to take him back, and he starts sobbing and screaming about how Dream isn’t getting rid of him that easily, Hob is immortal by stubbornness alone, if Dream thinks he won’t fall in love with a goddamn patch of grass he’s got another thing coming, he wants Dream to walk with him and live with him, but if he has to marry Dream the Place then that’s what he’ll do, he will make the realm itself his husband and spend eternity nurturing it, give whole new meaning to the term “husbandry”. And the ivy is crawling up Dream’s body, trying to pull him out of Hob’s arms, but before it can cover Dream’s face Hob is kissing him for all he’s worth.
And then the ivy slows, and the wind seems to shudder, and the land is still but Hob thinks he feels a separating within it, like the red sea parting beneath a blessed hand, and it takes a moment, because so much of Dream has spread like roots throughout the Dreaming and it’s hard in so many different ways to pull it all back into himself, but Hob holds him through it, peppering his face with kisses as the earth falls away from his withered body and being a person again hurts, but Hob’s love soothes it like a balm.
And then he awakens, opening his eyes for the first time in months, cradled in Hob’s arms, with soft memories of everyone who had tried to bring him back because they wanted him back, and he is still so tired, but. But maybe, he thinks, being awake, being here, is not so bad if there is someone to hold him like this.
Hob kisses him again.

Tease Tidbit Tuesday
Tagged by the ever lovely and ever so wonderful @diazsdimples. Make sure you check out Jame’s snippet!
Okay so I wrote this Saturday for my new wip (that does not have a title yet haha THAT’s gonna be fun to figure out) but added a little dialogue direction to it yesterday. I probably wont be writing much the next few days as a book I’ve been waiting 2 years for is finally out so I’m gonna be wrapped up in reading that, BUT I wanted to share something with you all still ☺️. Also even though I won’t be writing as much, PLEASE keep tagging me!! I love reading everyone’s wips!
Prev snippet here
“We're supposed to face shit together, Eddie,” Buck whispers, “as partners.”
Eddie closes his eyes as a tear escapes. His voice feels thick when he speaks.
“We’re not partners, Buck.”
“Yes, we are.” Buck’s voice trembles and Eddie knows he’s holding back tears of his own.
He screws his eyes shut tighter.
“No, we’re not. Not anymore.”
“Why?” Eddie hears the broken crack in Buck’s voice around the word. Hates that he’s the cause of it. “Why did you pull away? Start cutting yourself out of my life? What did I do, Eddie?”
Buck sounds so small, smaller than Eddie’s ever heard him and it has him opening his eyes and looking into red rimmed pools of blue.
“You didn’t do anything.” He says softly, because even though he’s angry, Eddie still loves Buck and can’t let him blame himself for this.
It’s not like it’s Buck’s fault anyway, Eddie’s the one who fell in love with him and broke everything because he couldn’t put a lid on his feelings and just be happy that his best friend was dating someone.

love it when a character that's hard to read intuitively for you has like a dedicated fandom interpreter who can just glance at their blank face in a panel and then give you a 3k word essay on their innermost thoughts & desires & fears and neatly tie it back into the themes & whatnot as if it's the most obvious thing in the world
#im talking about griffith btw#guts i feel i get intuitively - maybe because i have some personality traits in common with him#and we get more about his life concretely told to us in canon. so he is a bit easier to pin down as a character and feel attached to for me#but whenever i was reading the manga i just kept wanting more insight about griffith's actions and feelings#like ok yeah its fun to have mysterious antagonists and suspense /tension etc but its also fun to feel like you deeply understand them too#and i felt like that was a bit missing from him for me in canon#so reading about him in analysis and fics is the most fun for me rn#he always felt kinda half unreal to me- which maybe was the point of him - but i wanted a bit more about his childhood or something?#and wished we had more stuff explicitly from his pov in the story to read or explanation about his transformation or wtv#and now he's so much more closed off to me even than he was in the golden age. i keep waiting for him to explain stuff and he does not#ANYWAYS all this rambling to say some people out there are very good at interpreting him and making his like. insecurities#more obvious to me bc i didnt really get that side of him from canon intuitively well#also im really enjoying reading the first few berserk fics ive read#there may not be a ton of them out there but there is def writing talent in the fandom#i'll share some recs once i'm done sifting through most of what's out there to read#also (not to tie everything back to death note but it IS my home fandom after all)#i feel griffith is obvs the more light-like character here and L maybe a bit guts-like? but unlike berserk in death note#light is the one you get to know best and L is the mysterious / unreal one you don't get a lot of concrete insight into#and in the DN fandom I can read the more mysterious character intuitively but had to warm up to the less mysterious one instead#and the mystery of L makes sense to me and doesnt bug me as much due to like - he HAS to hide a lot about himself or else he will die lol#so some similarities there but also some opposite feels as well#berserk spoilers#p

Felix + focus
(this is actually written by @keepswingin, who gained access to my blog for five minutes and decided she wanted my prompts list)
---
It's bad luck, and you know it's bad luck, but you can't stop yourself from sneaking across the hall as soon as nobody is looking. You close the door as quietly as possible behind you and turn around, fully prepared to tease your husband to be, only to find him standing before the mirror, shakily adjusting his tie.
Felix is muttering to himself as he struggles with keeping his hands steady, smoothing them down the sides of his pants, once, twice, three times, and then he catches your eye in the mirror, and he freezes, and something about it reminds you of a deer caught between bright headlights.
"Sorry," you giggle, approaching him with your heart thumping wildly in your chest because this is actually happening, and he's going to be what you wake up next to every morning, and those hands will help you cook dinner and those eyes will look at you and call you beautiful and - and you're getting carried away. "I couldn't wait."
You reach out for his hand as soon as you're close enough, twining your fingers together. You can still feel him shake despite it, and the small smile he gives you is wobbly at the corners, and his eyes are crinkled in that anxious way that he claims he doesn't do, and you tug him closer, reaching your other hand up to curl around his cheek.
"Hey," you whisper, his eyes catching yours. "You're okay. Everything's okay. Focus. Focus on me." You press your forehead against his and hear his chest stutter with a long exhale. "I'm right here."
"I'm sorry," he says as soon as he's able to, blinking fast. Leave it to him to apologize over things that don't require one. "I was just - my mom left to go find something, and I was standing here alone and I just got to thinking and then I - " Another breath, this one calmer than the last. "I just don't want to mess anything up. On our day."
"You could never ruin our day," you tell him, and then your smile grows because you can't help yourself and he knows how you are. "Even if you did, I'd still treasure it all the same."
It does work in dragging a laugh out of him, genuine and carefree. "You're going to make me worry all over again," he throws back gently, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "You're beautiful, by the way."
"Can you still act surprised when you see me walk out? My mom already threatened me," you ask, and then his lips pull into a smile you'll never forget as he moves closer, lips brushing lightly against your own.
"My mom threated me too," he admits quietly, and then he's kissing you, and you can't help but wonder how any of this could ever be bad luck when it's the luckiest you've ever felt.

I desperately want to write a fic about how a beat down (and very good at compartmentalizing) Peter Parker only realizes that he is in fact a trans dude after the spider bite and going out in the suit
like, people coin him as Spider-Man (bc muscles and a sports-bra compressed chest make a certain silhouette) and it makes him stop and think
and then it's just like oooooooooh yep ok this was what I was ignoring for the last 2 decades

Absolutely no pressure to answer this, but I’ve been getting curious what with what’s currently going down in the Bakery Enemies AU! Do you intend to end it shortly after the reveal, or do you have plans to continue the plot re getting the kwamis back and finding/taking down the real peacock holder?
Basically, the "end" of the comic that I have in mind still has some loose ends. I was kind of planning on doing some epilogue comics to tie them up, or even like little short snippet comics of little jokes or cute moments or what have you.
I can't completely guarantee that I'll do them, because when the comic is done I will probably need to go back to doing the other things I've been busy with, but it was sort of the plan.

i’m sooo curious on bill meeting dipper’s parents. i think i remember you mentioning at one point they kinda sucked and treated dip especially bad. i’m sure that’s caused a lot of his long term mental health/self esteem issues and i can’t help but think his husband wouldn’t be too thrilled about that. also they don’t even know he’s married so that’s a whole other thing lol
In the Familiar AU, Dipper's parents shipped him and Mabel off to Grunkle Stan back when they were twelve, actually!
This was initially excused as the twins 'needing to get used to having magic'. Which makes sense! Magical puberty is a heck of a thing, and getting some training's useful to cut down on random magic surges.
But by the end of the summer, they hadn't made any plans for picking the kids up. This when Stan twigged to the real situation.
And by the end of that year, Dipper knew his 'paranoid' assumption was absolutely correct.
So the twins grew up in Gravity Falls, with only very occasional visits back 'home'. Contact's been sporadic, and Mabel's been the one who's clung more to their parent's attention. Dipper hasn't spoken to them unless forced to in years.
So yeah! Bill's not exactly thrilled with the parents - but lucky for them, they haven't met him yet! And they definitely don't know about the marriage. Much less anything else.
#answers#In summary: The twins' parents found out their kids were magical and decided they Just Couldn't Deal with that#They're not magical themselves and giving your kids some Magic Training is a good idea#But at some point you need to actually *take them back*#Which they just. Didn't#Dipper abso-friggin-lutely has a whole mess of issues from that#Abandonment's a big one. Being worth something and good at something? Yep that's an issue right there#Not the least of which is that Mabel as a more Talented and Powerful magic user got more attention when they were still there#Then continued to get more attention via phone call when they weren't#Mabel's got some REALLY rose-colored glasses on about the situation#Dipper sees it for the 'well my kids are freaks but at least one of them is a Cool Freak' it is#That's a fact he's been stewing on for *ages*. A fact bomb that he could theoretically drop on his sister but never did#Needless to say he got the brunt of the Issues™ but Mabel's got her own in turn#I'm also betting there's more than a dash of homophobia in their parents considering their reaction just to Magic#So the parents aren't going to be very thrilled about either of their partners#In my head I picture the parents wanting a Totally Picturesque Family#And creating the visual of one is easier if you only have Pictures of the kids instead of them being there and being themselves#In summary: Yeah The Parents Suck#I started a fic for this once and I still intend to write one but that's a later type of project#I gotta have the right start for it to flow well

Silver Mulan AU
(image for this au here)
Silver is a girl here, taken in and raised by the fae General Lilia. Despite her father adoring her as his angel, Silver always felt like a burden on him. Not only was she always told by others that she owed Lilia for raising her but she was human which brought discrimination to them (though not for long once Lilia found out). On top of that, she was a girl so she couldn’t even inherit the name. She tries to bring honor to the family by applying to the matchmaker—something her father only supports for her sake as he worries about what will happen to her if he dies before her. However, things go wrong due to honest mistakes and Silver is told she’ll never be a bride and only a mistress at best. Lilia tries to cheer her up but then he gets the summonace to war against anti-magical people. The big issue, however, is that at this time Lilia has lost his magic. The two argue about his leaving and Silver, concerned for his life, decides to take his place even though she’s aware she’ll be executed if discovered. She cuts her hair and takes her father’s armor which resizes itself magically to fit her. (Though she needs to make other adjustments to it to hide her—assets, as she’s well endowed.) After going to the army camp, she’s lucky enough to meet up with her childhood friend Sebek who helps keep her identity a secret from the other soldiers. There are difficulties but luckily Lilia had trained her alongside Sebek so she could defend herself. (He was convinced that she was so cute someone would try to steal her away, or worse.) Because of this, Silver was able to impress her peers, even her commander, Riddle. They get a letter for help and discover the destroyed village, which is covered in red lotuses. They are attacked on the mountain but Silver defeats the army by causing an avalanche. As the snow falls, she saves Riddle but is injured. This leads to everyone learning Silver is a woman. It’s nearly off with her head, but Riddle spares her as repayment for his own life. Sebek stays behind to help her, despite the dishonor this would bring on his family, and the two start to head back iun shame. However, along the way they discover that the villains survived. The villains attack the capital and Malleus is nearly captured but Silver and Sebek arrive to save him. This earns Silver warrior honors despite her gender and she is offered a position as his royal guard. She requests to talk to her father first. She returns home with her boons, but all Lilia cares about is his daughter and embraces her in tears. After this, she takes up a position as Malleus’ guard and a war hero.

use xkit and hide your follower count. those two people who unfollowed you just now? not personal. one deactivated their account, the other has had a shift in interests. your fic flopped? got less notes than anticipated? that's alright. you did great. it was amazing and i see the work and effort you poured into it. i guarantee someone in the world loved it and shared it with their friend. please keep in mind that numbers and statistics do not define the worth or quality of your art or writing.

Wip Wednesday ✍️
Just finished writing my first explicit smut scene .. something I honestly wasn’t expecting.
So I’m celebrating by sharing a little part of it with you all ☺️
It’s from The Lighting Amnesia Fic and is after Buck gets his memories back.
“Have you — have you ever done this before?”
Eddie shakes his head, “Just my own fingers”
“Fuck. Why is that so hot?” He grinds down into Eddie, giving his aching cock some relief. “Did you think of me while you fingered yourself open?”
He knows it’s a little vain, but Eddie has loved him for years and well, Buck was in the exact same boat and he definitely thought of Eddie when he masturbated. His best friend took up like 96% of his spank bank material.
“Yes,” it comes out half moan, half sob and his hold on Buck’s biceps tightens, “imagined it was you. Always you.”
“Shit. I’m gonna open you up okay, baby? Gonna talk care of you, gonna love you so good”

[ID: The first image Psychonauts fanfic banner on a black-to-gray gradient background. On the left in white text it says “Prompt #7: What Have I Done?” On the right is a bright red animated figment of an open Psycho-Portal with scribbles inside.
The second image is a Bad Things Happen Bingo card. Various prompts are marked with a half-brain (prompt requested but not filled) or full-brain (prompt requested and finished) symbol, while the “What Have I Done” prompt specifically is marked with a full brain symbol. /end ID]
And now after NOT taking multiple months, here’s the next fic in my @badthingshappenbingo challenge!
I am currently NO LONGER OPEN FOR REQUESTS. I have enough to work on to get a bingo! I MAY decide to reopen prompts later if I want to keep going after finishing these fics, but for now, requests are closed!
This prompt requested by @jaywings, who also beta-read, as did @portalcartoon! (Also thanks to @mechmolar who's been animating my gif frames since Photoshop stopped working for me.)
Prompt: What Have I Done Characters: Ford Cruller, Lucrecia Mux, other Psychic 7 members Warnings: Implied death/murder, implied drug use
---~~~---
The first time Ford sees her on that warm summer night, the rest of the world turns fuzzy. Her eyes catch his immediately, and his heart flutters, his face flushing. She hasn't even spoken yet, and already something about her is making him smile like an idiot. It takes him a moment to realize Otto has been talking. With a jolt and a stutter he asks Otto to repeat his words, but his friend's voice only fades into the background once again, and Ford's gaze is on her once more.
He can't help but notice, she's smiling too.
—-
Otto is saying something, but he can't hear him. The world has turned fuzzy, and all he can see is Lucy's smiling face in the photograph on the table, and the letter in his shaking hands.
—-
The first time Ford sees her powers, he can only stare in awe. His and Otto's attempts at hydrokinesis had resulted in mere bubbles and splashes, which they'd had fun fooling around with, splashing each other when one wasn't looking.
Lucy is not fooling around. With a mere thought, she commands the water as though it were an extension of her outstretched hand. She moves with grace and precision, yet with enough power that their previous mining efforts are dwarfed in comparison. Massive waves wash away dirt and stone and other minerals and draw heaps of glowing crystals to their feet, leaving not a droplet behind.
—-
Bob and Helmut link trembling hands, and a nearby vine beckons Ford nearer.
The television screen is small and colorless, and the figure in the distance is barely discernible. But her command of water is unmistakable, even though it is people, not stones, that it brings to her feet.
—-
The first time Ford enters Lucy's mind is among one of the first times he has ever entered a mind. It is frightening yet fascinating as he sets foot on a giant quilt that undulates like gentle ocean waves. Buildings made of patchwork resemble a town from a faraway place, like something out of a picture book. Though he is attacked by the same small creatures he had seen in Otto's mind, this world is vastly different. Some of it is locked away to him, however, and he urges Lucy to open her mind more, eager to explore this uncharted territory.
—-
They have explored the Gulch, their psychic powers, and each other's minds, but the war room is entirely uncharted territory. The government was never supposed to be involved, and yet here were politicians representing every country Ford had ever known and then some, all of them begging their little friend group to please do something. They speak of the horrors this "monster" has committed, and one points out that they have no idea what she will do next.
But they say that Ford and his group of psychic heroes—surely they must know what lies in the mind of this madwoman.
Ford and the others exchange worried glances. He knows what he put into her mind... but none of them know what has happened to it now.
—-
When Ford continually pushes Lucy to open up more, he feels no deep worry or fear. Over the years they'd known each other, they had explored each other's minds, probing into the depths, looking for what new wonders there were to find.
Memory Vaults remain open, frolicking through the mindscape with their mouths agape. Exposure to certain substances sooth Doubts and Regrets and make Censors sluggish to act, allowing for more ease of exploration. New doors open, allowing for more and more depths to explore.
In spite of her dulled inhibitors, Lucy expresses her fear sometimes, unsure if they're pushing each other too far. But Ford assures her that all is safe, here. Nothing can reach them here in the Gulch, and he puts her hands in his own, assuring her that she can trust him.
They are far from any troubles.
—-
The helicopter takes them far, far from the Gulch. The ride is silent and tense, no one saying a word, even over telepathy—or none of them speak to Ford, anyway. Bob and Helmut stare at their interlinked hands, Cassie and Compton huddle close, and Otto looks blankly ahead, his face unreadable.
None of them meet his gaze.
—-
Her horrified gasp shatters their peaceful morning. Lucy stares at the newspaper for an eternity before it drops from her shaking hands, and her sister's name leaves her trembling lips.
Ford's immediate thought is to comfort and reassure her, but she's already packing her bags, deaf to his words.
His words of comfort soon turn to pleas to stay—everything's changing too fast. Their minds are different. She doesn't know what will happen. (He doesn't know what will happen.) But she insists that she must leave, she must help her sister, and nothing he can say will sway her.
It's when she leaves, taking off riding on a wave, that it strikes him that they'd never taken the time to close up their minds. But he tries to reassure himself—he knows her. She won't let anything harmful into her mind, and they'll see each other again, once this is all over.
—-
The first time Ford sees Maligula, he does not recognize her. He's not alone, as all of them stare at her in horror, wondering at the identity of this monster standing before them.
It's not until Bob calls out to everyone that this is Lucy—that this is their friend—that recognition sets in, and nearly brings Ford to his knees. This is it—this was Lucy who brought those people to her feet, who wiped this country off the map, who let this terrible darkness into her heart—or out of it.
...But she hadn't done that alone.
It was Ford who had begged her to open those doors in her mind in the first place.
And he stands before Maligula, a single horrified thought running through his mind:
What have I done?
