My dogs my beloved dogs!! The first line of beastial spirit vine soldiers from my LoK AU. Created by Baatar when during experimentation, he discovered the spirit energy after being condensed causes the vines to react strangely to machinery and processed material. Turning the inorganic to organic.

These soldiers are comprised of spirit vines that have mutated in reaction to the condensed activated spirit energy and adhered themselves to the suits. Similar to "mimics" in a way, they can conceal their mouths fully so they're indistinguishable from human soldiers, though very astute earthbenders may notice they neither breathe nor have a heartbeat.

YAYYYY THANKS FOR ASKING its autism time Basically um. You know how most the watcher!grian hcs/interpretations have him as an unwilling participant in all this ? Uh, yeah ! Not this grian:3 Well. Kinda. But. Im a TMA Fan and I love FUCKED UP guys so !!!! Watchers feed off emotions. All emotions, but they're especially known for finding fear or grief or other negative emotions the most nutritionally filling/benefital to their health. However: They can't just sit there around someone whos very happy, sad, angry, ect, and then get fed from that. They have to- uh, for lack of better word- latch onto a players "soul," and tear chunks of that from them, dig into their mind and bite into whatever makes them feel and then tear that away. Sometimes, a feeding will cause the victim to be unable to feel anything at all after the feeding, if a Watcher gorges themself solely on them. Most often, when they use restraint while feeding, the victim will loose all feelings they'd had about the previous days, weeks, or even months, and might feel like everythings "dulled down" for some time while they recover. (Younger Watchers usually have to have physical contact with the victim to feed, older or more powerful Watchers can feed without even being on the same plane of existence as their victim, only needing to be able to See them.) Now, that's all kind of similar to a lot of headcanons about Watchers already, and I pulled the "eating emotions" thing from Martyns Eyes & Ears AU (altho in that its JUST fear), but uh... Heres where it differs: The Watchers aren't sentient. Not really, anyway. They're...predators, beings that know they need to feed and will go to great lengths to do so, survival their greatest worry above all else. Think of them like... Smart animals. Corvids, for example, crows especially- they will investigate their own dead to figure out what killed the other bird so they can avoid it, and are extremely good puzzle solvers. Prairie dogs have an incredibly advanced verbal communication system- able to even denote the speed of which a predator is approaching their den (probably the closest we could get to an ""language"" in the animal kingdom). But neither of those animals, as smart as they may be, are considered sentient. Its the same with Watchers. Watchers CAN communicate, they can understand eachother, they can achieve a certain amount of planning, like how squirrels can count what nuts they have & deduce how many they need, or how whales and other marine life are especially prone to being able to plan & use logical reasoning... They can understand the concept of death and... the concept of keeping their food alive for delayed gratification and a continued food source, instead of just going out and feeding on someone until theyre a husk of themselves, unable to provide more food. How, exactly, they got all the players into the life series/how they made the games IS something im working on, but the point im getting at here is that theyre basically like ants farming aphids, except the aphids are sentient people..? yay..? Ah, and Watcher cant reproduce normally. They have incredibly long lifespans, but when a Watcher does come to its end, they... Well, theyll find an player to bite into the soul of, and instead of feeding, they basically do the reverse- shoving all their energy into that being and becoming a parasite that will eventually take over the host and make them a Watcher, similarly without much sentience. Thats what happens to Grian. :3 The exact process of turning is also in the works but basically it starts by becoming unable to eat regular food, slowly focusing all the players willpower into wanting to eat, before they develop the ability to feed from other players. At this stage they might still be able to feel themself, however after feeding from another you tend to loose your own emotions amongst the ones youre feeding off of, and at some point, any remaining emotions the "player" has, is consumed by them for extra nutrition, and in turn they officially become a Watcher.

Okay, first thing’s first. The house (aka The House, the House, any other number of things and capitalizations) is part of a larger story/world somewhat based on an old RP between me and my friend. A bunch of our OCs (and us!) lived together in a house and we could travel between dimensions. It was very silly and fun.

So. This is not, like, a serious character. I mean she’s definitely not a joke, but this isn’t a world with a lot of stakes, this is a world with magic and silly things going on with some lore and worldbuilding for fun, some of it carried over from a nonsense RP done on transformice when I was. Like. Twelve?

Anyway. The house

Her origins :)

Her existence is tied up into this wacky world. I won't be going super in depth on how any of it works, so ask about that if you want? But here we go:

The house is a mansion (?) built/born in the middle of the woods through magic. She was created by an angel-like being called Xvetriel (Xvet), who is able to travel between worlds/dimensions/whatever.

Her sentience was an unintentional accident on Xvet's part. Earth itself has no magic, so outside magic is far more potent than normal. He created her as a place to live (among other things, not important), because Earth’s lack of magic means it’s a good, predictable place to hang out when you aren’t worldjumping. And you can do more with less effort. However, this also means that his original plan of Very Big House got out of control, and she became aware and sort of built herself after a point.

Imagine trying to build a modern mansion. You have the materials and layout sorted, but as soon as you try and put it together the house just... does it itself. And it's not even the same mansion you were trying to build, and it has a new layout... that's kind of what Xvet found himself dealing with.

So let's say you're going on a house tour. First thing you'll notice after wandering through the middle of nowhere: her shapeshifty mess.

Different materials, different eras, styles, all blended together into one building. She never sticks to one look, so it's ever-changing. So long as you aren't looking at her.

She could probably change herself if you're looking, but she's a tiny bit mischievous and likes watching you wonder if that bell tower was always there. Or seeing if you double-take when you realize the shingles are different.

The only rule to how she looks is that one of the things she's with has to be, conceivably, residential. Some part of the house needs to look like something you could actually live in. She can be a greek temple merged with a greenhouse, and as long as she has a log cabin or some part of it stuck on her side, it's a valid form she can take.

I haven't given her a definitive height/size limit. But generally, the rules I've followed when writing or describing her are "larger than a one bedroom, one bath, smaller than a skyscraper."

If there are windows or glassy areas, it is always impossible to see inside. The glass is highly reflective, or maybe so foggy they're opaque. Windows without glass, open windows, so on all lead only to pitch-black shadows. The windows have an Oblivion situation going on: they work fine enough until you actually stop and look.

The inside

Okay, that's a bit dramatic. Look, she has some quantum/magic fuckery going on. Xvet basically accidentally made a pocket dimension. That is a house. So

It's probably easier to think of her as just an infinite house, probably.

The house can create as many rooms as she desires, in any style she desires, with any furniture and as big as she damn well pleases.

The only exception to what she can make is generally very specific things nobody else present would have seen. If you want a physical copy of a particular new movie you haven't seen, and your roommates haven't seen, and the house obviously hasn't seen (because she's a magical house in the woods), she can't give it to you. If you want a copy of a film you've seen a million times and love dearly, though, she might be able to do something about it.

Though she isn't good at writing either. She can't write a diary for you, you need to do that yourself. She has trouble making books.. words are hard for her. She can translate them for you though ^_^

She cannot make living things. You need to supply that yourself.

..And there aren't any windows on the inside, either, at least not real ones...

There are a few rooms that don't really change, and these are the ones people live in and visit. The kitchen, library, bedrooms, reading nooks and places that almost look like museums and an entire conservatory... more stuff, mostly related to other characters.. those don't really change. She has everything you could ever want.

What is the layout of the house, though? Approximately? Well.

SHE HAS POWERS AND IS SPECIAL AND MAGICAL

She warps space.

So, uh, there's the foyer, which you always walk into when entering. But the door after that? Anyone's guess. Well, not the house's...

The house loves you and cares for you and wants you to be happy and healthy. And she knows what you want, need, your general thoughts at the moment -- magic shit -- so.

You're in the foyer. Want to read a book? She sends you to the library. Or maybe you're feeling a bit hungry, so she drops you into the kitchen. You have an urge to chat with someone? Well, if the other is up to it, when you open the door you'll go into a room where someone else is. If you're bored, she might conjure up a game room or a gallery or something.

If you're trying to neglect your needs, btw, that does not work. She WILL fucking send your ass to the bed or the kitchen or whatever. Try and leave? Good luck, she makes the room loop. You cannot leave until you behave. Take a nap. She also doesn't tolerate miscommunication and will trap people together until they talk it out.

Please don't worry about being stuck in there forever, she's very nice. If you want out (and aren't like. starving or w/e) she'll send you on your way back to the foyer so you can get out :)

But this does go in the opposite direction. If you wish harm on the house (and you can't burn her down -- the stuff inside, maybe, but not her) or her inhabitants? You will enter hell. It becomes some house of leaves, backrooms, nightmare type shit -- a labyrinth of confusing rooms that seem to have no consistency, places that loop in on themselves, endless corridors. You will not leave, probably, unless her occupants will it or take pity on you, in which case fine she will let you leave. Or if she decides you pose no threat. Or if she's bored. But otherwise? Suffer and face her wrath.

Generally speaking, though, she is friendly. She knows what you want, what you need, your thoughts (vaguely) and it's a bit of a privacy invasion, but she can't exactly help that. The house can't poke into your mind and know your darkest memories.

When making new rooms (such as for a new occupant), she takes into account their personal tastes and the purpose of the room. If it's neutral territory, somewhere many people will be, she tries to compromise. If it's a personal space like a bedroom, she goes all in. Maybe you like nautical themes? She can do that. Really obsessed with minimalism? Okay! Have you always wanted to live in a remote cabin in the woods? She will try her very best.

You can sorta communicate with her. You can speak and tell her stuff, and she will listen, but she can't respond. I mean... unless you say something like 'can I have a chair' and she makes one, but does that count?

She is a touch mischievous. Not malicious in the least. But she will sometimes move your table a few inches over because it's entertaining to watch you try and figure out why your bedroom feels off. She might tease you about a crush by repeatedly sending you into one of the gardens, full of flowers. Even if she can't speak, you can figure out what she's 'saying', if you hang out around in her for long enough. If you get genuinely upset, she'll knock it off.

There's probably more but I can't recall it rn and i think I've said more than enough at this point.......... um............... bye thank u for listening?

Okay so basically when LJ first was created, he was more of a dream figure for Isaac right

LJ could bring him to a carnival, but the carnival did not exist outside of Isaac's dreams, so it was a reflection of him.

Well, when Isaac abandoned LJ, LJ needed a purpose because otherwise he felt as though he was nothing

That is where LJ met Creation, a God-like being that could make almost anything

(Exceptions being humans, animals, etc)

Creation takes the souls of sentient beings and puts them back into other forms, for example, taking a lost soul and placing it into a vessel like a tea pot, with the right kind of magic.

The only problem is that Creation is not infinite; it needs a bodily host made from the two lineages that formed a pact to sacrifice someone once every so often. Without that host/sacrifice, Creation will eventually use all of its magic, and die out.

So Creation figures it can use LJ to harvest souls to stay alive long enough to have another host, plus, a little company isn't so bad every once in a while

Upon meeting Creation and becoming bound to it as a proxy of sorts, Creation grants LJ access to a pocket in the fabric of reality, where he has an actual carnival, which Creation uses and continues to use as a reservoir for souls just in case

(It has to use it because kid souls aren't exactly very large because THEYRE KIDS)

Issue #2 is eventually a woman comes along and it's at this point that Slender isn't the nicest person, so he basically locks her in the basement and uses her to try to further his rule.

So anyway she's from an alternate dimension where she's married to Slender but he has 99 problems and a bitch ain't one

And then he's like "she talks about her kids a lot, I should give her some so she doesn't have to miss them too much because they're right here!!!"

And LJ is flabbergasted and is like "oh em gee you're right I have all of these souls and I need somewhere to put some of them too!"

LJ, being the sick bastard (/aff) he is, creates a game for the souls.

Start at the edges of the maze, no cutting through walls, get to the middle and jump down the well, without getting caught by LJ. With a 5 minute headstart, of course.

Well our notable figures here are LJ, and a girl named Eloise.

Eloise was LJs first victim after Isaac, an older girl, about 10, who was the oldest in an orphanage she was in.

And you know how they treated women/girls in the 1800s

Eloise made her way around the maze, she'd gather kids, and lead them towards the center, but when LJ would pop out, she'd disappear, off to help another less doomed child or group.

Eventually, two were left, a boy and a girl, Mary and Tansel. And Eloise had brought them to the center.

LJ rounds the corner, jumping out at them, but Eloise is quick to dump the two into the well and run away.

With the soul he needed, and the extra one that was like a little bonus, he set to work making a line of patchwork

The patchwork turned into silhouettes and the silhouettes turned into fully formed dolls, monochrome just as him.

Infusing the souls with the dolls was easy enough, she loved them so much, but was slightly surprised when they turned into children, but loved them nonetheless.

Until she was removed from the house, moved in with another mf, had a real baby AND GOT EXECUTED

The dolls were promptly ushered back into the carnival and work as performers!!

Hi! I find it so weird that people try to mock me just because I think the Mind Flayer is a sentient being, and that Dustin was right in S4. They think I'm suggesting that Henry is a mindless puppet and not a good character/villain anymore... So so weird.

So u think it was Henry who shaped the UD? Hm, not sure about that, but hey, could be. But then why is it not only stuck on the night El opened the gate but at the moment the demogorgon got Will? 8:15 PM. Took me a while but I found evidence that that's exactly when he disappeared, and also his visions of the Mind Flayer happen at 8:15. What happened that night? What could it mean?

Also curious to hear your thoughts on Will's role in S5. We know he'll be central and his connection to Henry and the Mind Flayer is important. I can't wait to see them interact.

I'm not smart enough to explain what is wrong with this fandom exactly but its definitely something. I think its got a lot to do with the fact that so many folks in fandom in gen nowadays live breath eat sleep and shit fanfics and all their good "nuanced" takes are regurgitated bullshit from some woke zoomer on twitter who draws their favorite gay smut and whatever said zoomer did say was probably about something in the narrative relevant or some element relevant to some other fandom they were in and they just took and think it applies to this one too because it sounds smart enough. This shit about how you cant be telling a story about ""human evils"" through demonic eldritch terrors and monsters wah, wah, wah is so funny like the horror genre has been doing this for as long as it has existed. Henry doesn't represent the "human evil", either, its his mother who neglected and abandoned him for being "different", and the people like Brenner that exploited, abused and experimented on him and the corrupt systems of power in place that allowed such a thing to happen that represents the "human evils" so if they'd like to get that straight as well that'd be cool too. A lot of stranger things fans aren't horror fans also. Thats another big part of the issue, imo. The horror genre isn't their point of reference when they look at themes in ST. I'm not hating on these people but like you don't like horror - you don't know horror and therefore your analyzation on this piece of horror media is severely lacking to say the least.

But then like I've also legit stumbled on people insisting Henry's hair isn't naturally blond and that's hysterical. Completely hysterical. Like, this isn't even 'different takes on canon' thats just straight up wrong. His hair is literally blond lmfao, I'm literally?? BUT ANYWAY TO THE ACTUAL QUESTION.

The reason I think that is because, honestly, there is no way Will has any powers the way this fandom thinks. I've tried to entertain that idea to be nice to folks but they aren't nice to me so fuck em. I'm not being nice about it anymore. He wasn't born like El and while its debatable whether or not Henry ALWAYS had his powers or if he got them exclusively when he came to Hawkins, Will definitely doesn't have ANYTHING going on NEAR the caliber of what Henry has going on. I LOVE Will too, but thats just not it. Canon has explicitly shown us that Will's "powers" are that he has a link to the hivemind. Thats it. The VR game has also basically explicitly said Henry shaped the Upside Down (Also in the short trailer we have we can see this is going to be a big point of the game. You're playing as Vecna and shaping the Upside Down. While I don't know how canon the game is gonna be it does make more sense to me and would tie in with other things, like serve to explain why the hell Vecna wasn't personally involved in the early seasons. It would explain why he had to get Elevens powers to apparently restore himself since we have previous canon that tells us El and Henry are like batteries and they can exhaust their powers and need to be charged up again. I'd say shaping an entire dimension is pretty exhausting and probs why Vecna didn't get tagged in again properly until s4. And on that note its therefore comical to me that anyone in this fandom can think ANY CHARACTER possesses the SHEER AMOUNT OF POWER Henry/Vecna does. Like He Did All That. El's still finding herself exhausted from moving heavy objects.)

In season 1 Will also basically tells us the the Upside Down has looked like a dark, cold version of Hawkins ever since he got there. Henry is the one who talks about shaping worlds in canon. His words to El about shaping the world how they see fit foreshadows the eventual state of the UD. As for WHY the UD is stuck on that day, I'm not really sure what way canon wants to throw that and I'm not confident saying anything exactly because it could be too many things. But I am kinda curious now cos maybe I missed it, but where did canon say that the UD is stuck on that time specifically? I thought it only gave us the date, rather than the specific time. (Like I said I might have missed it and if I did lmk where I can find that info bc I wanna see lol) Imo, the date isn't significant to the day Will disappeared particularly, its the date El opened the mother gate. For me being the date the gate was opened has more importance than being specifically about Will. Time in the UD isn't working the same is all we can say for sure though imo. Years have passed in the human world but the UD hasn't moved past the day the mother gate opened.

Like I said I don't know what way canon is gonna go with that as an explanation for why but I doubt Will is as important to that in particular as people think. ST has got a lot of mythology references going on and the UD has often been likened to the biblical depiction of hell (or purgatory as well) through tons other symbolism as well and I know there is a concept that "damnation is eternal" and thus time "doesn't move" or "time is frozen in hell." I haven't been bothered to dig too far into any of that personally bc this fandom doesn't deserve me and my thoughts, imo, I'm sick of being indirected and mocked when I'm like the only one actually making sense out here most the time.

This is also all kinda tied to Will and Henry's particular avatars from the DnD universe. Will is the Cleric. Clerics get their powers from contact with a deity. (Will's brush with the UD/MF gave him the ability to perceive the hivemind and the creatures in it- Henry and possibly "the mindflayer" itself in particular because they seem to be the only other creatures hooked up to the hivemind that are operating on a human level intellect. ) Vecna was an extremely special case in DnD lore as a human that had some bizarre connection with this deity called the Serpent that not only gave him powers UNLIKE anything else but it also was the one that TOLD HIM how to transcend humanity and become a lich and a demi-god. ( This is almost literally what happens with Henry, and the Serpent in DnD is also portrayed thundering cloud with lighting coming down from the sky, like, is this fandom fr in doubting this?! Thats the important thing about DnD Vecna in his relation Henry. Theres other magic users in the DnD universe who "mastered" some part of "the Serpent's gifts," so to speak, but none like Vecna. No one got it like him, even as a human he was built different and "the Serpent" is the reason for why, for Vecna unlike other magic users in DnD the Serpent is not just something he "uses", or borrows power from, its said rather to "speak" to him, it chose him in particular. His connection with it is personal and unmatched by anyone else. )

I've made other posts about this ( here and here and here in partic- I also think I made another one but I cant find it rn lol ) but in a nutshell, to me, Wills role in Season 5 is going to be that he can perceive Vecna's memories. This will play a vital role in humanizing him further and probably in understanding his motives and provide the means to "stop" him. We saw this same thing with Billy in s3. Billy had no one and he was largely looked at as a bad guy, until El was able to get into his memories and understand WHY and what made Billy into Billy and how to "undo" the damage, so to speak, if only briefly.

We've been shown through the series that positive memories weaken the MF's influence. We were shown in S3 that Billy's "mind" after being flayed was just like Vecna's is shown to be in S4. Billy's mind was taken over by a raging storm, which we know is a manifestation of the mindflayer in its original form. Billy's "mindscape" is exactly like Henry's, except Henry's is more eroded for obvious reasons. I dont think the story will show Vecna being 'fixed' or 'saved', but I think if anyone is gonna be able to "get through" to him and weaken him in whatever way necessary for Eleven to 'stop him' or whatever, its gonna be Wil because Will can perceive Vecna in a way no one else can. (Which also makes sense since they're mirrors of each other in so many ways as well, which would probably actually make Henry more sympathetic and relatable to Will)

A lot of the stuff this fandom thinks of as canon isn't canon. Particularly surrounding Will. Its all fan theory and most of it ignores a good chunk of the canon in season 4 particularly about Henry/Vecna, or heavily twists it to be something its more than likely not in the wider canon context. Anyway I hope I dont sound mad at u cos I'm not I'm just v tired. Not with you-- or any of my followers or folks who support this blog- nope, we're the smart ones, contrary to popular fandom opinion on us. Which is why the frustration from me.

I have a personal theory about how part of why Wrathion is so "grown up" is bc of him being spliced with the titan thing and it also giving him way too much knowledge for a newborn to have. Like, I truly believe that dragon eggs aren't at all sentient before they hatch but Wrathion does think they are since he was, but it's all bc of all the knowledge in him and no one around to correct him about it. And since no other dragon took care of him properly as a child, all he has to go on is the adults around him and try to mimic them and guess the rest of how he works, and by extension all other dragons. This theory would also explain his "childish" outbursts, bc despite all his knowledge, he IS still a child that wasn't trained by a parental figure to properly convey his emotions in a healthy way. I honestly cant be annoyed by his behavior, i just feel extreme heartache for this poor soul. It's just such a fucked up existence and there's no one around to give him guidance. idk maybe its all in my head or maybe I'm not conveying my thoughts well but I can only see Wrathion as an insanely tragic character.

I've always thought of Wrathion's circumstances as not only a crisis bad enough to warrant CPS intervention (if CPS existed in his world, lmao) but also an indictment of Azeroth's (individualist) culture specifically.

It's sort of like how, on the internet, as soon as you graduate from sensory videos and Cocomelon you're expected to manage your own intake of content and keep your cool if you see something you didn't want to. There's tons of videos on YouTube making fun of 5 year olds' tantrums in games like Minecraft and Fortnite.

Wrathion happened to hear the red dragons plotting to kill him if he didn't obey. They might not have known he could hear them, but they knew he'd been reassembled by a titan artifact, belonging to the race that gave them greater intellect and completely changed their anatomy.

So he escaped: and then who does the red flight send but Mostrasz, with nothing but contempt for the mortal rogues who've been sheltering Wrathion all this time. Who eventually tries to kill Wrathion for being too difficult to control (or at least, Wrathion sees Mostrasz' violence as an attempt on his own life.) Just like Fahradion eventually does, too.

At least Fahrad has the excuse of being driven mad.

The question is: can anyone convince him to accept guidance, or even just care, before the end-point of his own individualist streak, where he looks back and realizes how deeply he was neglected? Is that something anyone but himself can solve at this point? Is anyone on Azeroth, raised with Azerothian values, capable of getting through to him without patronizing him?

Blackie x Reader || Headcanons

Imagine: The café trying to get you and Blackie together.

Warnings: Meddling?

Its a very absurd experience, having a café ship you and meddle in your personal life XD That's for sure.

But as soon as you walked into the café for the first time it was like it knew something you didn't. Nor did, apparently, the proprietor.

You and Blackie clicked immediately, became really good friends. It was like you were 'soulmates', - not that he believed in that. Or, at least, that he would have one, - , just... platonic ones. This wasn't good enough for the café though 😅 Uh uh.

The café is like an overbearing mother in this instance towards Blackie- they have been together for so long, the café has watched him be so lonely his entire life (Probably. I don't actually know how the café came to be. Which came first? Blackie or the Café? Dunno), and now here comes you... a sweet thing who actually laughs at his jokes instead of getting offended or uncomfortable, and it thinks (Well, as much as a sentient building can think)... ah. We cant let this one get away.

Like stated in This Post, the Café gets very very sad when/if you and Blackie have a disagreement or fight. It gets darker in there, and colder. The music shuts off entirely. And it'll stay that way, stubbornly, until one of you sucks up your pride and apologises. Then you get cake. Which you are to eat together, while the place warms up again.

The café may even go so far as to lock you two in the same room until you talk to each other (Nicely). It does not want you to leave and it will do what it can to prevent it, if at all possible. So if that means forcing you two to look at each other for hours then goddamn so be it!

There are plenty of hijinks when you two are getting along, though, too (Which is most, if not all of the time).

The café has been known to...

Tilt a booth when you sit down next to Blackie so you end up squished together or worse- on his lap.

Make Blackie's coat appear on the bench next to you if you mention you're cold (Even if it was on him a second ago. Like, the café literally snatched it from him). Like, there you go! What do you mean you cant wear that? Put it on. Its warm.

Show Blackie you on the TV screen at specific moments. Like when you're sad (Like, telling him to go help or so help me- ), when you are giving in and pulling on his coat, when you're being particularly cute (Humming while washing the dishes, sat on the bench in the bathroom and reading with your legs swinging as they hang off the sink, etc), when you're being made uncomfortable by someone (Like, again- a very unsubtle demand to go help them.), etc.

Sometimes 'mix up' your laundry with each other's. You just pick up your basket to start folding, find his button up shirts instead of your uniform, sigh and go to find Blackire and he's already there with your actual basket, sighing.

Blackie: *Heavy sigh* ... I don't think these would exactly suit me.

Y/N: These aren't really my style, either. Oh I have an idea- Swap?

Blackie: Fabulous idea-

Y/N: Yeah-

You and Blackie are both fully aware of what the café is trying to do. In fact, so are Frank and Fae. You all find it pretty amusing, and you and Blackie don't mind playing along sometimes. Because why not? You're friends! You don't mind stealing his coat, and he'll definitely be there when you're sad or being made uncomfortable.

(Imagine being the café, here. How infuriating XDD Like no, no. I'm not trying to make you better friends!?? Kiss!)

Other instances when you and Blackie play along (And *cough* maybe develop some awkward, not-to-be-spoken-of, slightly non-platonic feelings):

One time (Or a couple times) after Fae and Frank went to bed for the night the café stated playing slow music- very much suggesting the two of you dance together. Blackie just smirked and turned to you, holding his hand out and you were like oh what a gentleman. i don't mind if i do. Very silly, but very nice ^^

When Blackie's narrating something?? He said something about love once- and the café actually put a spotlight on you!! 😂😂😂 You were sitting there hunched over a cup, so you just gave a wink and a finger gun.

Blackie (Ep4S1, The Heart of the Mystery): But maybe the final truth lies in an old saying- Those that love, love forever.

The Café: *Flashes a yellow light just above Y/N pointedly, who's pouring far-too-many sugar packers into their coffee*

Blackie:

Y/N: ... oh, you bet. *Wink. Finger gun. Tears open another packet of sugar and returns to their abomination*

You actually pretended to be a couple once and the café was in such good spirits the rest of the day XDD You were being flirted at by a creepy customer and you had already told this guy you were not into it, you had not even smiled at all at thus man the entire time he had been sitting next to you- but he was not getting the idea. So you just... said you were sleeping with proprietor. It was the first thing that came to mind! And it sure did scare the bastard off when Blackie (who lives for drama) came over, pecked your cheek and continued to sit and flirt with you/chat with the dude with you for minutes.

Guy: Darlin you are sweet as sugar. I was wonderin- if you were gonna be in town fer a couple days, maybe we could hit up an eatery a tad nicer then this one, together? Say, Friday?-

Y/N: Mmm, you know... as tempting as that sounds... *Looking around for an excuse, catches sight of Blackie counting cash down by the register* ... I'm taken.

Cafe: *Subtly gets brighter, and warmer*

Guy: Wha-

Y/N: Yeah. I'm um. Having an affair with the boss already, so...

Blackie, who was of course eaves dropping: *Perks up, raises an eyebrow* Hm?

Guy: I, uh-

Y/N: *Communicating desperately I'm uncomfortable. Please do this for me through your eyes*

Blackie: ... *Not missing a beat, still flipping through a handful of bills* Sweetheart, I told you- thats just between you and me, and the back room.

The brain is fricked up and i like it

The cells in the brain, they connect and make an image to your eyes, to the brain, to your eyes. But, what you may not know- is that the brain gaps in the image you see. What you see, may be a white cat pfp with sunglasses, but what you are really seeing, is a spotty white blob, with something pink on it. But, the brain fills in the gaps, creating a normal image, of a cat with sunglasses. Like some sort of blind spot, fixed by contacts, the contacts as your sensory part of your brain. We dont see color as the waves of light thru the air, from a white light sourse, we see pigment, and thats why we cant see in the dark. Because the light is hitting the object. But, our brains dont live in the real world- Our brains are not touching that sharp plant.

This, is an image of '" The dress" It is famous. You see at the top, its gold and blue. THis is because the YELLOW light is hitting the the blue and black side, making it look like the real color. The other side, the BLUE light is hitting it, so it looks gold and white.

The consuissness of the human brain. Some therians/otherkith hate it. Seeing animal behavior, they have it too. Contray to popular belief, they are sentient. They just aren't smart enough to express it much, causing us to belive that they are not sentient.

Sentient beings are all animals. Mabye not the tiny bactiera. Animals, are not in a coma. They are alive.

Try laying in a place where you can see clouds. A sunny day. Focus on one single cloud. think about it disoliving in you mind. watch what happens. You can try this on other things like clouds. Try stars!

How does this relate to Theriantrope/ kin? Because our life is sentient. As well as animals. the things we see, feel, smell, and hear relate to our identity. Say a therian is in a mental or perseption shift, if they see, or touch or hear somthing, they might feel more animalistic. Say, if a panther can see light 100x better then us, then we might see with our sight the same as them, but in our own way.

If we can harrness the power of our brains, we can see with our neurons. We can see with our mind. We can be better, feel better, and more.

about your fic. reader is mute. cant they just communicate with b-12 and possibly other companions through sign language? since the language the companions and reader speak are technically the same, its the same alphabet that forms the same words in the same manner, the letters are just written differently, so that could help with the language barrier? just wondering

I did try to address why the reader couldn't communicate certain ways here and there in the fic so far. As I did put some thought into communication(a lot since that's the shtick with a mute reader)

Ie. As companions only have four digits, and its been a *long* time since the human era, they simply don't have those skills and any sign language would likely be different and tailored to four-digit hand movements than human five-digit.

Im not sure if i stated it anywhere(tho i think i had a line or two) but B-12 cannot speak the companion language even if he can translate it. For a more in-depth tho-

Verbally, companions do not speak the same language at all, their sounds and beeps aren't just 'A' in a digital tone, its an entirely new sound. I imagine that as they grew sentient and evolved, they did make minor alterations to their basic bodies, ie. Like the canon fact they can now eat. And so B-12's drone body isn't capable of making all the required vocalizations to speak their language. Its like even if your dog was sentient and could understand all of your words it can't speak human cause it doesn't have the same vocal chords.

Written however, is a different case, after all it is indeed a one-for-one swap of latin letters. And the read *could* learn to write that language for communication, yes. There has been little time for this to happen currently in the story. Esp since like. Sometimes learning a different written language is hard. It would def take some time to do so.

There are in fact plans to gradually bridge the language barrier, after all, the reader can't be expected to rely on B-12 for their entire life. Its just gonna take some time

I'm going fucking feral holy shit you're so right about all of this. I've always been so intrigued and confused by Midnight tbh--it's been a while since I read the books, but there's never any real.... canon confirmation on like Anything about her. I enjoy her existence for narrative reasons, but what's happening here. Millie speaks dog, Midnight speaks cat.... whadda hell

Also that Greystripe story and Hollyleaf with the fox cub.... there's a lot of potential for interesting dynamics with this series regarding the idea that the cats aren't the only sentient animals, but the series just doesn't address that most of the time. Though honestly that's kind of just a point with the series as a whole--lots of interesting concepts get brought up that are just never elaborated on.

(Also as a side-note, this reminds me of a story arc we did in a Warriors RP group I used to be part of. Long story short, it was about the foxes fucking unionizing to take out the clans, and it was really intense but also super interesting and had a lot of interesting fox NPCs who showed up. My favorite was the one-eyed vixen and her gay son <3)

AND ALSO ON THE NOTE OF THE HUMANS FINDING OUT, THAT ALSO BOGGLES MY MIND... THE CATS LIVE SO CLOSE TO CIVILIZATION. HOW HAS NO ONE FUCKING NOTICED. This was actually one thing that was addressed in that rewrite I mentioned that I liked--it suggested the concept of the humans being aware of the clan cats and like... making the clans' territory a protected national park of sorts, b/c imagine how amazing it'd be for tourism to show off these wild cats living in societies and having complicated rules and religions.

Anyway on the note of behavior as well, that was actually the thing in the rewrite that put me off reading it ASDFJKL;. It had a moment where Firepaw was super aggressive towards a kit b/c Instincts and it established like... a canon thing that toms aren't allowed nearthe nursery b/c they will try to harm kits that aren't theirs. I don't know how true that is to cat instincts, and I can definitely see that as an interesting concept to explore, but child death is like one of the three things that actively puts me in a really bad headspace when I encounter it without warning so I noped the fuck outta there.

while im rambling i also imagine toons as their own species - probably a common thing but i also want to talk about it. like toons are their own thing separate from other animals - while they are animals themselves what animal they are comes second, and the fact theyre a toon comes second. and obviously the species we see in toontown arent the only ones in the world at large. theres also actual animals like fish most notable. both toonier and sillier and more Normalish i suppose.

i imagine the world is bigger than we think it is and there are many toon places where toons reside and generally stick together but they aren't the only species on the planet there. there's also cogs and their origins (and toons' origins) can be discussed and speculated too but i dont wanna ramble about that now, i haven't figured out my opinion on that myself yet.

if they are they need to be at least open to hearing you out , they l need to be supportive of why it matters to you , they cant be anti animal rights but they can be flawed human beings who are good people at heart .but have reasons they aren't convinced , and I think having debates with your friends without them getting overly aggressive is also good because it good that your friends can listen to you and discuss things calm and rationally .

I know friends often dont wanna have that debate they might get defensive or even get aggressive, that can be really difficult , the thing is you have to have a lot of love and patience to be a good animal advocate , my fav dude is this legend he sticks with his guns , but also is very friendly and really good at debating with people without getting overemotional or being uneasssily rude .

We live in a world people are grown up with attitudes installed in our brains about animals and their roles in society and let me say it most of us animal lovers have eaten meat and there are a lot of people that agree with vegans in their hearts but struggle to make the switch because they dont think they can or they arent convinced about the ethics of consumerism for change. The thing is............I feel like animal rights is so much more complicated than more recent social movements , why? because animals are easy to not hear or think about due to how are society is very much a anthropomorphic meritocracy and because people are truly so unconvinced and unaware of the philosophy of exploitation of sentient beings this means there are tons of amazing good hearted souls who role their eyes at animal rights but could easily fight by your side if they where born in a time period society didnt ave industrial exploitations of animals. and understoof about specisim and ablism toward aninmals

The thing about people who are sexist,racist etc a lot of them are 99 percent of the time assholes whereas a lot of people who arent vegan arent actually people who hate animals they are also people taught by society that killing somebody who does not want to die is fine if they are a farm animal , it is just the way things are and that is that , a lot of these people ridicule, or ignore animal rights, but only because that is all we humans have been told our whole lives

Rating Sims 2 Billboards because why the hell not (long post!)

Nightlife fashion: 7/10. Very 2000s with the white background and dynamic silhouette, the butterfly wing is the cherry on the trend's cake, I love it. The only thing with this one is that the model/render of the person doesn't seem like a sims 2 render? I don't know what it is that makes it not like a sim, but personally, it kinda puts me off

Kids toys box: 9/10. I love this! The "letters" very much look like simlish, I love that there is some stuff from the actual game in here and aren't all generic toys, plus, the freezer bunny and the red-white checkered rocket are actually in the Kids Toys box in The Sims 2!

Car advertisement: 5/10. Not sure what's really going on here. To me, it kinda looked like the car was surfing on a giant sea wave which is cool as hell! but now I'm not so sure whats going on. He drives so fast he leaves the Light Blue World and drives in the Dark Blue World??? that have weird cloud leafs or something? I can't figure this out for the life of me

Movie poster: 8/10. This is really cool, this looks like a real movie/game poster that the sims could actually go watch! It reminds me of those Sims videos with dramatic stories, which makes me like it even more! The only personal thing is that the logo looks SO familiar, and I can't figure out for the life of me why. Everytime I looked at this I'm like "yeah but where does that 2 with that line come from?" that personal little frustation aside, i really like this poster

Shop at the Store! poster: 3/10. I hate this. Ew. Why the non-simlish letters. why does the "h" looks like a "u". why is this so generic looking. the only redeemable feature is the artstyle which is nice, but despite that, i hate it.

Red robot poster: 6/10. I cant figure out what the hell this robot is supposed to be. some kitchen device? a drone, maybe? But it looks kinda nice. I like the yellow tone and the word placement; the composition is quite nice, i would only like to know what the hell this thing is

Generic travel (?) sign: 6/10. This is cute! On its own, it looks a bit boring, but I think it could make a tourist attraction a little more realistic! Not super interesting but not bad either.

Sims 2 road signs: 5/10. I'm putting these together since they're basically the same thing, except the one with the roof is smaller. I don't know what to think of these. The roof one I kinda like because the structure probably inspired by on of those map signs you see on a hike trail or something. But overall, I dont like these. They take me out of the game rather than in it. The other signs make sense with the context of the game but these one does the exact opposite. this isn't a sign for the sim but for the player

Cow Udder Plumbob: -10000/10. Some bored Maxis employee was probably like "hey you know what would be fucked up" and then proceeded to make this and put it in the game. I both love and hate this. and WHY ARE THERE UDDERS?! there's enough weird implications of this guy having hands, eyes and a mouth (are the plumbobs alive? do they have feelings? do they have their own plumbobs) and there was NO reason to put udders on him. this not only implies this plumbob is sentient but can also can be milked. I can't believe this is actually in the game. Glitches, bugs, corruption, i can all understand but this was intentional. someone, give-or-take 15 years or so, sat down and consciously(?) made this. what the fuck

im curious about your feelings on everyone saying that gregory is the villain for destroying the animatronics, and people saying that the animatronics deserved to be destroyed? imo: im annoyed you cant free them from being controlled cause i just dotn want to hurt them, and it really annoys me when people say gregory is the villain/the animatronics deserved it

His survival instincts are in all power for the situation he's in, for all we know Freddy is the first grown up that has being kind to him (and freddy isn't even a human!). I can't blame him for don't trust the other animatronics, even if Freddy tell him that their are his friend, Gregory can just think ''they're trying to hurt me'', and in a fight or flight situation, Gregory take the first option, probably 'cause it has work for him before. I'm sure that everybody that think Gregory is the bad guy would be crying if Montgomery come to them breaking fucking doors, that scary even for a adult! I give points to Gregory for not shit his pants in any moments.

Now, about the animatronics, their aren't the bad guys neither, please people remember the william's virus, you know, that think that make everything in the pizzaplex corrupted? For all we know the animatronics were just fine before this happen, and kids love them (except for Sun/Moon, but that more for ther design), if they were sane like Freddy im sure they would protect Gregory from Vannesa/Vanny, hell, montgomery probably would break a fucking wall so he can go, Roxy would take one of the gokarts and give it to him so he can escape more fast, and chica... well, chica would give him dinner! Gregory never eat during the game, the kid must be hungry.

And even, after being destroyed and recover their mind, if Gregory or Freddy told them what happen im pretty sure their would never be mad, actually! they would even be worry about the idea of almost hurt a child, their are programmed to be nice to them!

Now, Vanny and William are obviously the bad guys here, please, tell me there no people out there telling that they're nice and loving bunnies, 'cause that people need to see at least a 2 hours videos of all the shit William had make, and we can remember that Vanny is literally using a body of a innocent to kill children? 'cause she already kill children! In the newspaper in the bad ending we can see at least 6 missing children, and we all know that their put ''missing'' at a ways of censoring ''killed'', she is already a killer.

and we all know FE is a greddy and horrible company, they had seen at least 5 differents place being shut down or burn to ashes in the past, and what they do? MAKE-MORE. They can't just, go to bankrupt? How in jesus heaven they can still had money after all this? Oh well, i know, if i remember correctly some of William and Henry stuff were sell TO THE GOVERMENT, yes! so FE is probably being funded by the goverment of any-place-they-are, i remember i hear in a video something like ''if William were still alive and being part of FE, the crazy man would probably have the world in his hand'', and that true, if William were a normal man and Henry were still his friend, they would probably make the AI that we see in SB by the time FNAF 1 take places, both man were fucking genius! But now William is a eternal zombie, and Henry is death, so we just have a company that don't care about all the children that had died down their name, a big monster that, ironically, created some of the most sentient and human robots in their world.

i really have to note: there are a LOT of different reasons you could be having this emotional interference. i’m gonna be focusing on the plural and adjacent aspects because that’s what you asked about and we’re. really tired but there’s definitely other things that could be going on here

also, before we get this started for real, thsi was our last questioning link dump; it’s pretty medically focused and a lot of it probably won’t apply to your situation but it should at least help you to rule out a dissociative disorder if that’s a concern you at all have

first and most importantly: this is your imaginary friend sentient post is a guide for your specific problem.

commentary: i don't know exactly how applicable "imaginary friend" is to your relationship with them or how directly you're used to communicating (we basically never had direct conversations with mod before they dipped), but the basic idea of checking how much control you have over the experiences generally associated with them (or how much resistance you experience forcing them to do something) can be adapted to a narrative/solo rp type deal pretty easily.

on a terminology level the two kinds of plurality that are most likely relevant to you are actually ones our previous asks didn't really cover: paromancy/willo- or catharigenesis/tulpamancy (this is contested terminology but for the purposes of this discussion all refer to basically the same material practice) and soulbonding. for a very quick introduction on soulbonding, you can look at some of the stuff on this site, particularly the specific page linked; for a quick introduction to created plurality, poking around the r/tulpas faq should give you an idea.

terminology aside, i think a really good question to ask though is… what does consciously sitting down, clearing out all your other complicated thoughts on the matter, and just deliberately interpreting these emotions as belonging to a distinct entity or trying to communicate with your oc under the explicit pretext that they’re a distinct and real person feel like? does doing this itself cause feedback? is the feedback different from your other general thoughts on the prospect of being plural, in whatever direction? once you’re engaging with them, does the thought of dropping these pretexts cause its own feedback? i can’t make any definite statements, ofc, but if these specific thought experiments strongly effect the emotions you’re receiving it’s very possible that this means something.

do you think 1010 and neon j ever like, wonder whether they are more human than robot or robot than human? like neon must feel this really hard since a lot of him is no longer human. but 1010 also probably don't feel entirely robotic. like if they have emotions and personalities then how do they cope with knowing that they are basically property of neon? even though neon treats them like family and people? it must mess with all of them but at least they have each other in this.

I keep bringing up the Ship of Theseus because I do genuinely believe it is something almost anyone would struggle with. You've got the memory, but could technically transcribe it into a new form and have a duplicate of you. The second that duplicate makes a decision different than you, it is no longer you, but their own person.

If you've had to replace the entirety of your form, how do you know that you're making those same decisions you would have before? Are you the same you? Just how different are you? Can you truly compare yourself to the person you were before? What if he never went to war? What if he chose to die? Would it have been better? Would it have changed anything about the war? What ifs and would its all running away from the little "did"

And robots. Androids? What makes him different from an it? Are they really considered sentient? They're not really alive, but they are alive, but they aren't, yes, no, yes.

Recognizing that you are something artificial. And therefore not real. Would probably cause some issues the further you dive into it. If you were a "real person", would they care for you more? Would they treat you different? Different? Different? That's what you are, it's different. In the public eye, you are nothing but an object, and, to be so famous with such a fanbase, that objectification would be strong and prevelant in their lives. As a constant, it may not be something they think about much, but some days.

Some days you can't really hide from the idea that if you broke you could be easily replaced, and others you cant help but wonder if your "father" really cares as much as he says, because you're just a bunch of 1s and 0s and screws and wires that he stitched together.
