Astrological observations part 20.

! This is 20th blog with observations and I’m so shocked I haven’t give up yet. Pliz for the love of mercury be gentle with me cause English isn’t my second language and I’m trying my best with vocabulary and grammar. Lastly these are my opinion and what I have experienced in my life don’t take it personally!

a marriage of convenience, that's all that was afforded for phillip and danielle, they were merely strangers as many were and for months, years even, there seemed to be a glimmer of hope, and yet that glimmer sparkled until it fizzled out. there was no love in their marriage, there was nothing but the feeling of being trapped and alone.

over the years, marguerite knew her father didn't love them, and when he did, it showed in tears and bruises, in love that stained warm skin pale, he showed his love in ways that needed to be covered and even as a child she vowed to never end up married.

the beauty of punarvasu 🦋🏹

🏹 kali uchis: punarvasu surya

🦋 punarvasu natives, such as mariah carey* and kali uchis, tend to be obsessed with butterflies and their imagery. butterflies are representative of the air/ether element. the deity of the punarvasu nakshatra is aditi, the mother of gods and the goddess of space and the ether element. we tend to see many butterfly-like qualities about punarvasu natives. for example, many natives may be naturally quite restless and finicky and always feel the need to move or travel to satisfy their insatiable appetite for new experiences (similar to the monach butterfly’s migratory nature). this nakshatra being the vimshottari birth of jupiter, causes many natives to want to expand throughout multiple areas of life too quickly and without proper judgment before hand. their aspirations may quickly multiply and quickly reced at a later date. coming and going, flying up and down just like a butterfly. because this nakshatra tends to struggle with commitment and maintaining a steady, continual frequency, their hardest feat in life may be, what i like to refer to as, the chrysalis period. the chrysalis period in life is where many jupiter natives are called to go through multiple transformations and changes in their lives before they see the reward of finding who their true being/self is. they go through life like a caterpillar yearning to become a great being one day, going through the chrysalis of transformation, and, solely after the gruesome time commitment of the chrysalis, typically becoming the best at what they do.

🌬 the appearances of jupiter dominant individuals are very unique. it is hard to pinpoint the general consensus of jupitarian women’s looks because jupiter really bestows its natives with originality and niche looks specific to the native, much like the big planet of restriction: saturn. first let’s take a look into the two rashis of this nakshatra: gemini and cancer. gemini is ruled by mercury, giving natives a rather elvish and smaller appearance (due to mercury ruling the lower abdomen and bestowing its natives with a generally high metabolism). cancer is ruled by the moon giving natives a yin, curvy, and busty (due to chandra ruling the chest) figure. juxtaposed with the expanisive/yang nature of jupiter gives natives larger features, like big lips and bigger/airy (ether) eyes.

🐈 when researching the appearance of natives, i also like to take into account their nakshatra’s yoni. this is because i believe the yoni of the native somewhat glosses over the planetary dominance of the individual. for example, rat yonis tend to have a pinched face like many rodents, serpent yonis tend to have intoxicating eyes resembling that of snakes, rabbit yonis tend to have prominent, apple-y cheeks like bunnies, etc.. punarvasu, being the feminine feline (female cat) yoni adds somewhat feline features, like arched brows, almond shaped eyes, and overall much emphasis on the features nearing the orbital bone. similar to how cats typically have rich iris coloring to contrast their fur coat and pronounced whiskers where eyebrows would lie on humans.

🍋 jupitarian women also tend to have blonde/yellow undertone hair, this is likely due to jupiter being ruled by the color yellow and remedied by wearing gold/donating yellow objects (i.e. bananas/saffron). overall, they are the best planetary type for those wishing to dye, bleach, or wear wigs of the color blonde. blonde can truly compliment their ethereal looks and remedy jupiter, i.e. shakira (punarvasu native) going blonde and being primarily recognized for her artificially blonde hair.

🎙punarvasu is heavily prominent in the music industry, from mariah carey* and shakira to eartha kitt and nina simone. i believe this is due to jupiter’s overall auspicious energy. early we reviewed the chrysalis stage of jupiter, after said stage, we see jupiter natives being bestowed with great fortune and fame for their efforts. we also see this musical prevalence with vishakha (another nakshatra under jupiter’s rulership), many famous singers are also born under this star. such as miley cyrus, beyonce, katy perry and more! if we take a step back and look at jupiter and the houses jupiter rules, we can get a better understanding of why. jupiter rules two rashis: sagittarius and pisces. sagittarius is the natural ninth house and pisces is the natural twelfth house of the zodiac. the ninth house pertains to honesty, principles, dreams, and intuition. it is considered to be the dharma bhava and rules one’s religious instincts, good karma, dharma, ethics, higher learnings, one’s inclination towards good deeds and charity. it is essentially a house influenced by luck, fortune, and favors. the twelfth house is the ending of one’s life cycle and the beginning of their spiritual journey. it is often considered to be the house of unconsciousness, the undoing of self, and imprisonment. this is the essence of jupiter, brihaspati challenges your wisdom and rewards you when he deems fit (9th house) and if you prove to be unsuccessful, this could be your undoing and call to ground yourself (12th house). time and time again we see these jupitarian women succeed in their respective industries and devote themselves to philanthropy and causes pertaining to empowerment, such as miley cyrus’ hippie foundation and her being very vocal about her feminist ideologies. we see jupiter women gravitating towards music almost as a form of spiritual expression (twelfth house) and a channel to express their immense lyricism (ninth house pertaining to wisdom). even in the later years of their career, we still see women like mariah carey* and shakira continue to make music and receiving immense credit and followings for doing so.

🏹 in ardra, we saw the process of forming the rational mind and free will after rohini’s rejection of bhrama’s pursuits and fearfully running away (mrigashira). we see punarvasu acts as the bridge between communications, mental intelligence, and journeys (third house/gemini) and peace of mind, motherhood, and domesticity (fourth house/cancer). this bridges the elements of ether and water and generally creates a harmonious, caring, and auspicious individual. these same traits are also abundant in the following nakshatra: pushya. think of punarvasu as the cosmic mother (aditi/4th house) who has gained immense knowledge and wisdom through life (brihaspati/3rd house) and the beginning of domesticity and motherhood, whereas pushya is the nourisher and the nourishing milk the mother provides (brihaspati and the 4th house combined).

🦢 due to the overall motherly nature of punarvasu, we also see this natural purity to the natives. hence, why many punarvasu women wear white (the color associated with purity). looking at the street style of punarvasu natives, i saw a lot of the typical colorful and eclectic styles jupitarian women like to wear. however with punarvasu, i saw a more subdued version of the typical jupitarian style. i noticed lots of sweaters, semi-tailored/fitted jeans and pants, flowy and distressed shirts, and overwear. i would describe a typical punarvasu outfit to consist of gold jewelry (a nod to the jupitarian rulership of gold), distressed and relaxed clothing (symbolic of the yang energy of jupiter), and lots of primarily white, lead, and black clothing with colorful embellishments. as previously mentioned, white is symbolic of the purity of punarvasu, lead is considered to be the auspicious color of this nakshatra, and black is indicative of the spiritual qualities and the yang manifestation of jupiter himself.

🌱 punarvasu reminds me of the painting “garden of earthly delights” by hieronymus bosch. a painting primarily about the dichotomy between heaven and hell and the road that lies between it. it is like the greenery that is rebuilt after the purposeful destruction of ardra. the painting depicts succulent strawberries, palaces, shimmering crystals, and seed pods ready to burst. surrounded by fountains of clear azul water flowing directly into the mouths of what many believe to be adam and eve, plucked fruits, and duos caressing inside glistening bubbles, ajar clam shells, and ripened nectarines, indicative of the journey of all nature, planetary vimshottari birth nakshatras and the cosmic blessings of aditi. this fruitful abundance, combined with their lovely, nurturing nature, is a resemblance of the left (heaven) side of the painting, the jupitarian chrysalis period is the middle (worldly) board of the painting, and the dangerously falling susceptible to the influences of others is the right (hell) side of the painting.

🌳 punarvasu is of the vasutva prapana shakti, meaning “the power to gain substance”. in general, it is easy for them to get inspired by their creative ideas and plans, but they must learn to bring their ideas to fruition and into reality. because when they do, great things happen, i.e. punarvasu natives like the singer nina simone or the victoria secret supermodel alessandra ambrosio being highly successful and regarded in their respective industries. i cannot stress this is enough: while punarvasus are extremely talented and abundant looks and career wise, like all jupitarian women, they must learn to heal from the trials and tribulations of their lives (the garden of earthly delights). to help aid natives lying in the cancer rashi, i recommend meditation. for those lying in the gemini rashi, it is of the utmost importance for them to ground themselves and not allow the fickle nature of air to overun themselves.

Placements Most Prone to Getting Stuck in Abusive Relationships

Are usually people with Venus in Scorpio because of the intensity of how they love and the intensity in which people love them back, Venus in Libra due to their penchant for trying to see the good in those they love. Venus square/opposing Neptune, due to these natives often idealizing those who do not deserve it. Venus in Pisces, due to their savior complexes. People with Moon squaring their Mars’, or Moon conjunct/squaring/opposing their Pluto’s— often they associate pain and intensity of feeling as equatable to love. These are the types of people who feel deeply and often have a hard time entertaining the idea of love unless there is some sort of “suffering” involved.

Many with Moon or Venus squaring Saturn

Can endure the same thing/have the same habits. I’ve found with the latter two the duration of these relationships will last a lot longer. This is because Saturn adds longevity to relationships.

Nessus in aspect to Dejanira in synastry

Can also cause obsession or at its worst, abuse. Sparknotes version of the Greek myth is a wild centaur named Nessus attempted to kidnap and rape Dejanira as he was ferrying her across the river Euenos, but she was rescued by Heracles. If you’ve ever watched Disney’s Hercules, Megara is the Hollywood version of this broad. In regard to synastry Dejanira is the asteroid of the victim, especially sexual, and Nessus indicates the abuser. If this appears in synastry you can be certain two people will have some sort of abuse involved in their relationship or some sort of intense obsession with each other than may not be altogether healthy. Be careful if it aspects [in square or opposition] Sado or Algol. No bueno. If touching Chiron it there will be some sort of lesson involved. Make sure it’s one worth learning. Aspects like these in astrology can be very humbling.

Typically if One Has an Aspect Natally it Will Often Appear in Synastry With Another.

For example, One can have their Sun opposing their moon and often attract people whose moons oppose or square their sun. If one has a Mercury squaring their Pluto, they may attract someone whos Pluto square’s their Mercury. You can often always trace a synastry aspect back to one or the other person’s natal chart.

People with Venus Conjunct Lilith

Will have enormous sex appeal. Their basic femininity will be in touch with their wild femininity. If in the 10th house, they may make a career out of it. Become models or make money off their figures. One of my best friends is a porn star and has this aspect. Her ‘Only Fans’ is poppin’.

People with Sagittarius 5th houses

Can/will adopt children from other countries or have children in countries other than their native land. Angelina Jolie’s 5th house is in Sagittarius and her whole brood save for 3 are of different ethnicities. People with the same rising sign as you often deal with many of the same issues as you and therefore, can be easier to have friendships/relationships with. This is typically because two people will have the same houses/house sign cusps.

Placements That Make One Lucky

Are often strong Jupiter placements. Jupiter rules fortune and is in general a benefic planet. Wherever he touches will show growth or excess of energy. It is best when he is working harmoniously. So, Jupiter trining/conjunct/sextiling inner planets or Jupiter trining the north node. Jupiter as the most elevated planet is a good indicator of someone who often gets lucky in the nick of time. Luck often comes through at the clutch for these folks. Asteroid Fortuna, Fama, or Abundantia making harmonious/conjunctions to planets like Jupiter, the Sun, or the Moon. The Sun in the 10th house is a good indicator of someone lucky in their career. A good place to look to see determine someone’s physical features is often their Sun, Rising, Dominant planet, or Midheaven.

Yes, I know, not very exciting but I keep telling you guys to stop ignoring your Sun. It is the most powerful Planet in your chart. However, if we were to look beyond the Sun, Your rising sign is your face. Someone with a Scorpio rising will inevitably have some sort of intensity to them. 9 times out of 10, it has something to do with their eyes. The Midheaven will also show you a bit more, usually how a person carries themselves. I often find those with Virgo or Venus Midheavens [women] are very good in heels. Good with structured walking. Men will often have model-esque walks as well. Attention grabbers. Same with those with Capricorn MC’s. Neptune MC’s have a bit of a “swagger to their walk” like they’re swimming through air. Gemini MC’s are often very light on their feet. Aries MC’s walk in a very militaristic way. Straight backed. Authoritarian. George W. Bush has an Aries MC and walks in such a way.

Psychic connections in Synastry [Platonic or Romantic]

Are usually 12th house, 8th house, 1st house, or 9th house placements/Overlays. Aspect-wise typically Moon to the lunar nodes, Uranus to the Nodes or Moon, Vertex to nodes, PLUTO, or NEPTUNE to Mercury. Mercury to Moon, Mercury to Uranus, or Neptune. These are all highly psychic points. Singletons are EXTREMELY powerful forces in the natal chart. They can be considered focal points of consciousness, sometimes vehicles of manifestation. They are widely understood to have extreme expressions (or repressions) which are heavily symbolic in a native’s entire life.

People with many Aries placements, strong Martian influence, [especially if in aspect to Mercury or Mars], or hard Plutonic aspects [including conjunctions] tend to enjoy more aggressive forms of music. The types to listen to heavy metal/rock or hardcore gansta rap.

Leo and Aquarius mixing in a natal chart or in the 2nd house can make someone have a bit of a “bark” like voice.

Venus retrograde natives may have had a hard time or still have a hard time in their social lives especially if it’s placed in the 11th house.

On Chiron

People with Chiron in Aries have a fear of failure. Can suffer from identity issues. They can heal by empowering others and being independent. Chiron in Taurus feel as if they never have enough. May have grown up a bit poor or might feel as if they don’t deserve nice things. They can heal by being financially responsible, but also treating themselves to something nice once in a while. History of Venus & Its Symbolic Meaning

Venus is the second planet from the sun and makes its orbit in 225 days. Most easily seen in the sky before the stars come out, it is called the morning and evening star. Being inside the orbit of the Earth, from our point of view it always appears to be within 48 degrees of the sun and therefore cannot be more than two signs away from the sun sign.

The glyph for Venus is the well known circle of spirit over the cross of matter that has become the female symbol. Venus represents the feminine, affections and refined emotions, personal love, beauty, and the arts.

This archetype and planet was well known to the ancients as Inanna to the Sumerians, Ishtar to the Babylonians, Aphrodite to the Greeks, and Venus to the Romans.

Among the physiological systems of the body, Venus represents the sensitive endocrine system which is closely related to emotions with estrogen being doubly emphasized by Venus as the female hormone.

As love and beauty Venus also symbolizes the principles of attraction, harmony, and balance. Venus is referred to as the “minor benefic,” second in value only to the king of the gods, Jupiter. Venus represents that lovely phase of life after the youth of Mercury when one is still fairly young but gaining some maturity and independence, the phase of young love, courtship, and marriage.

Venus is associated with the blue, which is the favorite color of most people, though Venus rules earthy Taurus as well as airy Libra. The rising signs

Energy, aura, my interpretation.

Aries rising 🐑

Energy: vibrant, pulsing, bouncing, energetic, vivid, animated, spirited, lively, vigorous, electrifying

Common aura colors: red and orange with mixes of yellow. That usually means they are very passionate, they are friendly and caring. Concerned with the next move and rolling with the punches.

Interpretation: from the Aries risings I have met they’ve always been goofy as hell. Just someone you can joke around with and have a fun time and not be so serious all the time. The type to just run away randomly and come back with a new person.

Taurus rising 🐃

Energy: calm, peaceful, harmonious, serene, tranquil, soothing, hushed, still, placid, bucolic, slow, cool.

Common aura colors: orange, pink, and green are common in Taurus risings. They can be healing and deliberate. They feel connected to animals and nature which is healing for them. They can be very caring and concerned even when their logically thinking.

Interpretation: the Taurus rising i have met all are unhealthily obsessed with food. The kind to pull a stash of food from out under their bed and listen to people’s troubles. Funny and calm, just people who want to do what they want but can also be a follower.

Common aura colors: pink and yellows with whites. Very loving and understanding, wanting to spread positivity and can get passive aggressive if there’s yelling and dramatics involved. Can think logically from both point of views and consider what’s said and done.

Interpretation: goofy, is hard to actually crack up but once you get to know them they get more loose with you and join in on the fun. Loves beauty and the ones I have met are usually obsessed with hot men/women. Just wants to live in the moment and do what they want.

Scorpio rising 🦂

Energy: magnetic, hypnotic, alluring, arresting, irresistible, charming, mesmerizing, pulling, tranquil, intense

Common aura colors: red, blue, purple. They feel and see everyone’s emotions as if they are their own colors. They have a lot of passion that is very emotional but will often have an analytical point of view. Intense and sarcastic, has a lot of intuition.

Interpretation: the Scorpio risings i have met seem to be different yet alike. Always possessive in a caring way, usually funny and upfront and honest. Open but not open and there is always a cloud of mystery around them.

✦ ▓ AND WHO GOES THERE? oh, it’s just [ LEONETTE FOSSOWAY ]. some say [ HER ] resemblance to [ ANA DE ARMAS ] is almost uncanny, but the [ THIRTY ] year old has been in the capital for [ TEN YEARS ]. many suspect that they are the notorious [ NEUTRAL ] of the [ TYRELL ] family: perhaps that has made them [ SELF-CENTERED ] && [ JEALOUS ] of late, when they used to be so [ AMBITIOUS ] && [ GREGARIOUS ]. during the daylight hours, [ LEONNETE ] can be found working as a [ MAGAZINE EDITOR ], but when night falls over king’s landing, they are best remembered listening to [ ARE YOU SATISFIED? by MARINA ]. may the gods be with them in these dark streets.

Because I suck at Photoshop, my intro post is going to be ugly :P But I’m suuuper excited to introduce you to my modern-version of Leonette. I hope you like her! You can find some info on her below:

Don’t know if anyone has spent less time in the capital, but Leonette has technically been here for only the last ten years. She moved to King’s Landing to see if she can fulfil her dream - to become a journalist. Her family had never expected her to even consider that, they were big in the apple cider business, her father being the inventor of Fossoway apple cider. He wanted his company to be a family one, run primarily by people who shared a blood connection. Leo’s brothers were happy to live up to their father’s expectations and preserve the legacy. But not her. She wanted more of the world, not just ciders and apples. And she wanted to leave, desired to explore more of her surroundings, just by herself and see where her luck leads her.

As soon as she got her university degree in journalism, Leo put herself out there and started seeking jobs. The very first position that was offered to her was one of a columnist. She was given the chance to have her own weekend column in a magazine dedicated to relationships, fashion and beauty. She would first write about her general impressions of her everyday life in King’s Landing, until eventually she started feeling bolder and would even give out some tips to her readers. Her column was a popular one, many women finding her writing tone charming, sweet and funny. They enjoyed reading about her experiences and the opinions she held. Leo realized that while that magazine hadn’t really been her first choice for her journalism career, it had given her a platform and the chance to succeed. Who cared if it was more light-hearted, compared to discussions of a serious nature.

The columns would turn into articles and then edits of whole pages. Her bosses enjoyed her creativity and approach, they could recognize her talent and her influence on the magazine’s female audience. They started sending her to various social events and fundraisers, where she would represent the magazine. It didn’t hurt that the others also happened to find her quite pretty. At one of those events, she would meet the man who would become her husband.

Leo never thought that much about Garlan Tyrell or the Tyrell family in general. She was well-aware of the power they wielded and the fame and money that came along with it. But she was never one to sigh and faint in the presence of celebrities. She treated Garlan just like any other man she had ever met. She never understood why exactly he chose her and decided to pursue her. He did possess all of the qualities she desired in a man, so she let him get close and take her on various dates. He was someone who wasn’t wasting her time and she believed he could truly see her, for who she was and who she wished to become. He understood her goals and dreams, understood her worries and concerns. She could confide in him. It was only natural when he propose to her, it wasn't a surprise to anyone around them, it was the predictable growth of their relationship. Leo didn’t want to wait to become a married woman long, the engagement lasted only a few months and then they were married in a public ceremony, attended both by family, friends and the media alike.

Her success story didn’t falter though and she was promoted to the position of an editor-in-chief, the magazine granting her full recognition and control of the issues every month. Leo knows that the natural step, family-wise, would be to start her own family with Garlan, but she fears what would happen with her career if she were to get pregnant.

‘Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)’ - Lizzo REVIEW: Blame It On Her Juice

“Why men great 'till they gotta be great?” has got to be the most pressing question of our time, and it’s crazy that no one has asked it before Lizzo did on her hit “Truth Hurts.” Lizzo feels like the pop star we've been waiting for so long, but really, she's the one that's been waiting on us, and very patiently, may I add. Although you might not have heard of Lizzo until 2019, she's been in the game since 2013. Cuz I Love You (Deluxe) (2019) is actually Lizzo's third studio album. So why the hell did it take us so long to take notice? When Lizzo released “Juice” as the lead single for Cuz I Love You, her first album with a major record label, she may have had some insight on the matter when she said, “I'm like chardonnay / get better over time.” Better over time, or ahead of her time? Why not both: her two high-charting singles of 2019 were "Truth Hurts," a song only included on the deluxe edition of Cuz I Love You that was initially released in 2017, and "Good As Hell," which was the lead single off of her 2016 EP Coconut Oil. Multiple factors play into the delayed rising popularity of these two tracks, such as Netflix and TikTok, but we should all be ashamed at how behind we have been; Lizzo is playing chess while we're all playing checkers.

And so here she is today, in 2020, about to attend the Grammys with a whopping total of 8 nominations, occupying a spot in all 4 of the night's biggest categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the year for "Truth Hurts," and Best New Artist. Three out of the four of these nominations would normally make no sense, considering there is an eligibility period for the Grammys, but a lot of technicality loopholes made it possible, and deservingly so. No DNA test- or Grammy Award, for that matter- is necessary for us to know that Lizzo is 100% That Bitch™; Cuz I Love You (Deluxe) is sufficient proof.

BEST TRACK: "Juice"

When the best track on an album is also the best to witness live, you know you've got a winner. It is impossible to stay still or think a single negative thought while listening to "Juice," and every performance Lizzo has put on of the track has been a marvel. In her first televised performance of the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she pulled out a flute and took the world by storm. Nothing like a wind instrument to top off an already perfect pop song. In the misery of our current society, "Juice" is a necessary mood booster.

WEAKEST TRACK: "Boys”

This short track that is sonically reminiscent of “SexyBack” is groovy but adds little to the body of work. It is repetitive without purpose, and although it is congruent with the album’s overall message of acceptance (”from the playboys to the gay boys /Go and slay, boys"), having a track specifically dedicated to the male species on an album so empowering for women feels redundant.

THE IN-BETWEENS

Cuz I Love You (Deluxe) shows Lizzo's eclectic abilities as a vocalist and musician, ranging from the funky "Crybaby" to the sultry "Lingerie.” Most of the album consists of self-love anthems celebrating the parts of Lizzo- and her listeners- that others might (and do) attempt (and fail) to use against her, such as her race on “Better In Color,” her weight on “Tempo,” and her femininity on “Like A Girl” (which contains quite a delightful moment where she refers to Serena Williams as “Serena Willy”). However, Lizzo does explore interpersonal and romantic love as well. On “Jerome” she puts her foot down and refuses to pick it up until her man- supposedly Jerome- grows the fuck up, and on the epic title track, “Cuz I Love You,” Lizzo is overwhelmed by all the love she is feeling for someone, as she previously thought she was “love-impaired.” Clearly, she’s not, as her self-love is overflowing; so if anyone is lucky to receive some of that love, they better recognize it. Jerome, I’m looking at you.

BEST PROSPECTIVE SINGLE: "Soulmate"

The most impressive thing about "Soulmate" is how cleverly Lizzo injected her sense of humor into the track. I honestly laugh out loud at half of the lyrics in this song, because they are genuinely funny. "The old me used to love a Gemini / like a threesome fuckin' with him every night," she starts off. Have you ever heard a better opening line to a song before? In the second verse, when describing her relationship with herself, she says "you know the sex is fire," implying that pleasuring herself is better than what men have given her in the past. As the spotlight has been shining on Lizzo, she has used every moment to preach self-love and acceptance, and "Soulmate" embodies that message perfectly.

Lizzo is such a necessary artist because she embraces who she is unapologetically. People who are uncomfortable with a bigger woman loving herself will ask why her weight needs to be celebrated or a part of the conversation at all, but this isn’t about them. There are plenty of people out there being told that the way they are is unacceptable, which is precisely why Lizzo made the album cover a picture of her au naturel. Because at the end of the day, the way you were made was beautiful, and Lizzo wants her music to be your constant reminder of that, even if our culture has ingrained in us otherwise. The entertainment industry practically endorses products that encourage eating disorders, and so having someone like Lizzo show that you do not have to look one certain way to achieve your dreams, be successful, and- most importantly- be happy, is vital, and can save many lives. As a slim white woman with more than enough representation in the media, Lizzo’s music makes me feel better about myself; I can’t imagine the immense impact it must have on someone with little to no representation at all to finally have a positive light cast upon them. As she sings, “If I'm shinin', everybody gonna shine.” And if it bothers you that much to see people give themselves the love that they deserve and of which society has deprived them for so long...well, it ain’t her fault- blame it on her juice. Grade: 4/5

DISCLAIMER - REVIEWER’S BIAS: I first heard of Lizzo through her hit “Juice,” and boy has watching her rise throughout the year been exciting. I find her to be so incredibly talented, and it is so nice to see a woman preach self-love and acceptance when we are constantly yet implicitly told to dislike and change ourselves. It is so rewarding as a music lover and consumer to see someone’s hard work pay off; I hope Lizzo’s rise to the top brings her only smooth sailing from here on out. I plan to continue celebrating everything about her along with the rest of the world. And to anyone who still has shit to say about her body....that’s a you issue, sweetie. As a wise philosopher once said, haters gonna hate, and it doesn’t look like Lizzo is gonna let that stop her anytime soon. I hope it never does.

Zodiac Signs In Theory vs As I’ve Known Them

Aries

in theory: angry 24/7, impatient, always fighting, active, impulsive, badass, ambitious, independent

reality: I’ve noticed that Aries is very controversial, people normally either love or hate them. They’re not always angry but still argumentative and can become childish and not open-minded/empathetic during their arguments. However, when it comes to their friends, they are good listeners and uplifters. They might say some things that could make things worse while others open up to them (since they don’t have much experience being comforting), but they try their best, and at the end of the day, they help you much more than they detriment you. They are very protective of their friends. Aries also can be emotional and insecure, but they are good at putting on a bold/confident persona. A lot of Aries people I’ve met usually aren’t super active and tend to be on the heavier side. (This doesn’t mean that they aren’t active at all, and this isn’t true for all Aries ppl)

Note: most Aries people I’ve met are female (and yes, gender does influence how a sign normally acts)

Taurus

in theory: lazy, stubborn, always eating or sleeping, likes music, good singers, slow-moving, easy-going, dependable, practical

However, they remain highly charismatic people and are very energetic. They can have big/noticeable hair, but that is not always the case. Generous and genuine people, they’re rarely fake (unless they’re self-conscious... in that case, fake it ‘till you make it!). Sometimes they like to be the center of attention and like to have a lot of friends, but only a close circle will know their true feelings.

reality: Not necessarily neat-freaks but likes things to be in a certain order. They are usually pretty bold and popular people (from what I’ve noticed). They can be eccentric and outgoing. I’ve noticed that Virgos are usually very pretty people and while some see them as rude, they’re just opinionated and not afraid to speak their minds. Some of them are all talk, but most of them won’t hesitate to follow through with their actions. Don’t get on their bad side, they can be quite scary (lol). They do what’s necessary and practical in their minds. Super supportive friends but can be critical at times.

in theory: fake, can’t make a decision, pretty, popular

reality: Libras are very likable people, but they don’t tend to be popular. Because many people like Libras, they can get away with more things. Lots of Libras are social floaters, as they can be so social that they fit into many friend groups. They can be shy at first, but once you get to know them they are very outgoing. However, while they might have many friends, they will only have a few who they are close to (and it’s either super easy or super hard for them to find people they can be open with). When they find the people they truly vibe with, they stick with them for as long as possible. They seem to not be able to make a decision, but they are just empathizing and weighing all the potential options that will have the most benefit and justice towards all. They can’t really hold in their own secrets, but they can seal their mouths when it comes to others’ secrets. While they do love to gossip, they won’t reveal information that’s personal to others. They like to make others happy and tend to be people pleasers. They usually neglect their own needs to maximize the happiness of others. If they actually realize that they need a break, it’s usually because of an outside influence that convinces them to. They’re fun and energetic people, and good, fair mediators. Like Taurus, they also are very indulgent people.

Scorpio

in theory: mean, mysterious, intense, passionate, extreme, cold, always doing it

reality: Scorpios seem to be mean, but only because it takes longer to get close with them than others. They put up a wall and aren’t very social, but they develop very good friendships (due to the time and effort it takes to get close with them). They come across as cold and mysterious but only because they’re shy (and even though they’re shy their simultaneously bold???). Scorpios are often mistaken for fire signs because of their intensity, but they are indeed a water sign! They love when others give them empathy and they are very empathetic themselves. They can be intense at times, but they are also extremely comforting. They close themselves off often, and you can’t force them to open up, you’ll just have to wait it out and let them come to you. The more you press/rush them the less likely they will let you in. They aren’t always doing it, but yes they’re horny. They don’t usually seek relationships and like to take their time, but they aren’t opposed to fuck buddies. They are open to talking about sex, which is comforting since many consider sex a taboo. In general, they are really nice to talk to about taboos, since they won’t judge you about it.

Note: I know many Scorpios but not all of them are Scorpio suns. The ones I know have different Scorpio placements (Scorpio suns, risings, and cusps), but the risings and cusps share many qualities with Scorpio suns! I know both many female and male Scorpios

Sagittarius

in theory: adventurous, creative, stubborn, exaggerators, assholes

reality: Confusing people. They are more hypocritical than Geminis (from what I’ve seen) and are usually clueless. They don’t really know much “street smarts” and speak without knowing the full truth. They aren’t intentionally rude, they just try to speak their minds. They hold grudges because of their opinions. They are free-spirited, cheerful, and carefree, and love to soak up life. They don’t like to look for the negative in the world (they love to see the beauty in it) and the reason they usually dislike people is because others don’t see the world as they do. We should really envy the way Sagittarius people look out onto the world, they see it as an endless adventure that’s beautiful and filled with dreams waiting to be fulfilled. They are super fun to be around and hang out with. They come off as cheerful people, but nobody really knows what goes on behind the surface. They’re closed books. While they are focused on the present and don’t like to dwell too much in the future, they tend to be successful in whatever they do, due to their hard-working mindset. They don’t usually dwell on the future, but they are long-term thinkers. The reason they focus on the present is so they can put in the work now so they don’t have to do it later. They are smart and successful, and that’s no accident. They work hard for what they want and are very independent. They don’t rely on others too much. In general, they aren’t too social and tend to be short. They are reliable and stable friends and are really good to talk to about serious topics. reality: These oddballs do have emotions. All of the Aquarius people I’ve known are extremely emotional people. They seem emotionally detached but that’s only because they attempt to rationalize their feelings and don’t like to display their negative emotions. However, they are usually friendly, bubbly, and are great friends to have. They are humanitarians and love to help others. It’s hard to generalize Aquarius because all of them are unique. The way each Aquarius sun acts usually depends on their other placements. Aquarius people are unconventional, imaginative, and idealistic.

Pisces

in theory: shy, unrealistic, emotional, daydreaming 24/7, spaced-out

reality: Pisces people don’t like to focus on the negative and need lots of time to rest and retreat, which is why they like to have their heads in the clouds. These sensitive guys and girls learn a lot from daydreaming, like adaptability, compassion, and how to focus on the positive and how to have empathy. Unfortunately, while they like to focus on the positive, I’ve noticed that many Pisces are prone to mental illness. They can become quite sad and anxious. Most of the Pisces I know struggle with mental health issues. Although they experience negative emotions more often than others, their friends and family can help ease them. They will have good highs that balance out their lows. They are nice friends to have, as they can be very helpful and compassionate. We should all treat the Pisces we know better, since all they want to do is be nice (and they’re sensitive bois).

Wedding Arrangements

The door flew open and startled Audrey ever so slightly. “Audrey, guess what!” Any trace of fear she had was gone when she saw Seymour standing in the doorway, beaming at her.

“What?!” She giggled in response.

His already huge grin grew wider. “We just got a call, someone put another order in!”

“Oh, my gosh!” She squeaked and jumped over to him, embracing him in an excitable manner. Neither wanted to break away. “Wow, another one?!”

“Right?! Who knew being busy would make the day go so much quicker?” He pointed out. Other workers would have been elated by this but not Audrey and Seymour. They were both at their happiest when they were spending time together. Parting at 6pm was the worst part of their day.

“You know, Seymour, all of this success, this is all because of you. All of your hard work, your amazing discovery, it paid off. It’s all thanks to you.” She said sincerely, wanting him to grasp just what an amazing thing he had done for the shop.

“Thank you, Audrey. That means a great deal to me.” Her words touched his heart, a place only she could access in it’s entirety.

“Okay, I gotta get this perfect!” She frantically looked around the room at the cluttered array of flowers, ribbons and bows. “Oh, wait a minute, what’s it for?” In her frenzied state, she almost forgot to ask.

Seymour took a moment to smile at her before revealing the answer, he knew this sort of arrangement was her absolute favorite to prepare. “Wedding!”

She squeaked again, this time at an even higher pitch than before. “My favorite! Oh, this day couldn’t get any better!” Adding to her excitement was the fact that she didn’t have a date with Orin that night. Unlike other women, she didn’t look forward to seeing her boyfriend; she dreaded it.

A little time passed and Seymour stayed with Audrey while she made one of the most beautiful flower arrangements he’d ever seen. She didn’t realize just how talented she was at this but, then again, she never noticed her (many) strengths. Plus, watching her tongue poke out between her lips as she concentrated was an adorable added bonus for him.

She finished up the bouquet of cream roses and geminis, white spray chrysanthemums and a white oriental lily, wrapping it in a glass vase with baby blue ribbon. She looked at it with slight doubt. “Seymour, is that okay?”

“Okay?! Audrey, it’s beautiful! They’re gonna be so happy!” He couldn’t understand why she couldn’t see what he saw, and that went beyond the flowers.

In a daze, she spun the ribbon around her fingers. “I don't think I’ll ever get married.” She thought out loud.

“W-why do you think that? You’re a great girl, Audrey. The perfect girl! Any man would be lucky to have you as his wife.” He replied with full conviction.

In response, she scoffed. Not in response to him, instead at the thought of a man wanting to make her his wife. Especially after everything she’d done, the life she had led.

“I just can’t see any man wanting to marry someone like me.” She said it so quietly that if Seymour wasn’t always completely fixated on her, he would’ve missed it.

“That’s not true, Audrey. Plenty of men would give their left arm to have a girl as sweet and funny and charming as you!” The words spilled out before he could ever think. He left out words like “beautiful” and “sexy” which, funnily enough, cheered Audrey up even more. For once, a man wasn’t focused on the way she looked but rather the person who she was.

She sniffled a little, genuinely touched. “Thank you, Seymour.” She took a moment to compose herself then grinned up at him. “How about you? Do you wanna get married some day?”

“Me? Oh, sure! I always liked the thought of it, you know?” Oh boy, she knew. “I can’t really see it happening though. It’s hard to swoop someone off their feet in a place like Skid Row. Not to mention, this isn’t the place where I’d wanna raise my children.” Audrey felt like he was reading her mind. “I’d much rather have that kind of life outside of here, if I could ever afford it. Just somewhere that’s…” He struggled to finish his sentence.

“Green?” Audrey queried, hope blooming in her eyes.

“Green?” He muttered to himself under his breath, mulling the idea over. “Yeah, yeah, exactly. Somewhere that’s green. I like that!” He smiled at her and she smiled back, both taking in the moment of idyllic fantasy. Ironically, they were each envisioning that kind of life with one another. They both pictured running across a perfectly mowed lawn towards their little tract house in their wedding attire, hand in hand, ready to start a new life together.

“Krelborn!” The sound of Mr. Mushnik’s bellowing snapped them back to reality. The door swung open and there he stood. “Where’s the hell is the Ashman’s wedding order?!” Mushnik took in the sight before him and rolled his eyes. Who did they think they were they fooling?

Audrey sprung into action. “Here it is, Mr. Mushnik! It wasn’t Seymour’s fault, I had to start over halfway through, that’s why it took so long! I’m sorry!” She lied and Mushnik saw straight through it.

He rolled his eyes once more. “Alright, Audrey. Just get back to work you two.” He ordered and slammed the door behind him.

Audrey returned to her seat next to Seymour. “How about you, Audrey? How many kids do you want?” He asked, happy to fantasise for just a little longer.

“NOW!!” Mr. Mushnik yelled, causing them both to jump up and get back to what they were being paid very little to do.

In just a few short but eventful weeks, their dreams would finally come true. All of it. The wedding, the kids, the little tract house was in their grasp. But, most importantly, they were going to have each other.
