Ch210 vs ch100: Water-landings, burdens, and injuries

In ch210, Finny already has a bullet wound in his left shoulder, then he's shot in the left leg as he grabs Oliver and heads for the drainage ditch. Throughout this chapter, we've seen him flashback to his escape from that German drug facility.

In ch100, he's running through the forests of Bavaria, where they are being chased by armed Germans (from a military research facility). He's carrying Sieglinde in his arms, while Tanaka (chibi form) is on his back, holding on at Finny's neck and shoulders. He's also carrying two large bags (Snake's snakes?). He jumps off a very high cliff (above the tree line) and lands in a shallow river/stream.

He's in pain and his legs are shaking, but he seems to recover okay.

Then there are shots fired, and Tanaka goes into action.

In both chapters, we have:

Finny burdened with extra weight and trying to keep others safe

Trying to escape from staff at enemy facilities

Germans (the action in the witch arc vs old flashbacks in ch210)

Injuries (especially to Finny's legs)

Being shot at

Landing in shallow water

Being inspired by thoughts/memories of our earl (reminded of our earl in ch210 by Theo)

Even if he regarded her as a close friend now, there really was no forgetting your first love, the puppy love that being in high school brought for the both of them. He took a seat after her in the diner, shooting her a grin and only glancing at the menu. He knew he pretty much just wanted a burger and shake anyway. "It's been so long. Still taking pictures like you always do?" he asked. "Catch me up, I wanna hear everything."

Sibling Showdown!!!

This showdown consists of 64 sibling sets facing off against each other, as well as a few one-off polls of sets who didn’t make the actual bracket but who I wanted to include in some capacity. Polls will last a week. Round One of section A will go live on April 16, with section B going live the day after, section C the day after that, and section D the day after that.

Propaganda is allowed! I just ask that it be kept positive. Argue for your faves instead of against someone else’s. Every sibling set who made it in the showdown is there because someone wanted them to be, so keep it kind.

Will the winners be the siblings that love each other the most? That are most capable of killing other sibling groups with their bare hands? That have the most sibling swag? It’s up to you to decide! You get to choose the manner and parameters you judge each sibling set for.

Considering that the oldest siblings of each group seem to stay behind while the other kids are adopted, could it be:

because they were forced to become accomplices to whatever’s going on with the younger children (like Ginny)?

In that case, are they acting on their own in this cliffhanger, or on Doll’s orders? Or, considering Artie being very progressive with feminism, are they and Doll directly supervised by a shinigami (UT or another deserter)?

because they’re bizarre dolls, like Layla was?

Far fetched idea at this point, especially since Doll is for sure a BD already.

Additionally, looking at Mabel’s strength, since she managed to restrain Finny while hanging from the ceiling (that’s quite the feat), they might not be 100% human? Like Finny himself isn’t, because he was experimented on, so maybe these four kids aren’t “adopted” because they’re experimented on? And in that case...

could it be that these four kids are actually trained to become real!Ciel’s servants?

I mean, between Mabel’s apparent strength (?), the way they cornered Finny (similarly to how Finny and the other servants might do if intruders were to invade the Phantomhive manor at night), but also, Tanaka bringing up that real!Ciel has no staff in ch151?

Actually it’s a common misconception in the fandom that Polaris and the other star lords are real!Ciel’s servants when it’s not the case at all...

...meaning that the F.O.L orphanage could be used for blood collect (”nutrients” for bizarre dolls, such as poor Ginny), but also to train adequate staff that real!Ciel will then hire. And why children? Because real!Ciel wouldn’t feel threatened by them.

Taking our!Ciel’s example, he despised having to associate with any adult most of the time, after what happened to him. However, Seb is an exception because of the contract, and Bard was hired because Seb needed a senior staff to lead Finny and Mey if he wasn’t around + Tanaka is quite injured.

So who’s to say that at least Oliver, Mabel and Artie aren’t supposed to become real!Ciel’s servants, while the other kids are used as BD’s nutrients?

As for Theo, who belongs to the Pomeranian group, maybe he’s supposed to play our!Ciel’s role to real!Ciel? Because real!Ciel can’t function properly without his brother around, maybe?

Or maybe, as a pomeranian kid, Theo represents both twins, while the other 3 are supposed to represent his servants, because they’re a recreation of the Phantomhive household for.......... BD!Kelvin’s fantasy? for UT to use as a decoy/substitute against the Queen (pomeranian dogs being literally Victoria’s favorite dogs)?

It’s still a very confusing little arc at this point, but there might be more than just blood collect going on behind the scenes.The good news are, we will probably find out more very soon. x)

Ch202 (p3), We are all footmen

I'd still worry.... 😅

So, Theo apparently kept that lock of hair in his coat pocket. I guess he forgot to remove it earlier and put it somewhere else, like in a keepsake box. Is this the "key" that -- was it Editor K? -- spoke of before, that Theo has to the mystery?

The snakes can sniff out Ginny, based on the scent of her hair, and they can tell if she's alive (warmth) or already dead (ambient temperature). If she's alive, even the slightest temperature changes would help them find her.

Well... Artie actually has a valid question! We don't really know what Snake is.

It's funny thinking back to when Tanaka tells real Ciel that Phantomhive Manor would typically employ numerous footmen. Snake has been referred to as the footman. But the truth is they all see themselves as footmen... even though only one has feet. 😆

There's a jingling noise, probably from a horse, and everyone turns their attention in that direction. Jonathan is a new snake to me, though he's probably been around the whole time... and he just keeps quiet.

The students go follow Jonathan, while Snake and Finny trail behind.

Finny doesn't know how to explain why he's kept quiet. Mainly it's because he had to be sure before accusing Doll of being an enemy.

But he's also afraid Snake will find out that Finny helped to kill Snake's friends from the circus.

Is he more worried that Snake would turn against him and our earl (and the others) or simply that he'd feel betrayed and end the friendship they've built?

Well, the licensed translations never come with the preview for the next chapter, but in this post, we get a heads up that ch203 should actually start a flashback for Finny.

ROTTMNT Pride Month ❤🌈🌈❤

Now I think you’ve noticed some odd flags you may or may not’be known about on Gio and Donnie. That is because they are neurodivergent and that’s a neurodivergent umbrella term for aroace. It’s Nebularomantic (Gio’s left arm, our right, Donnie’s right, our left) and Nebulasexual (Gio’s right arm, our left), they describe someone (due to their neurodivergence) who can’t tell when they’re feeling romantic/intimate attraction towards someone.

Another one I don’t know if people know is Gio and Mikey’s Cassgender flags, Cassgender just means that they don’t think their gender is what’s important but still feel the presence of a gender. And they feel that way for their separate reasons. Hopefully I explained that good.

Lastly those wondering the cat is still Scourge from my bestest friend @okumura-senseixxx, but it’s my version of him. And then the other human is one of mine, Taylor Theo Beverly Tanaka.

@okumura-senseixxx helped me with some of these, such as Raph being a strait ally, which makes more sense than what I’ve seen around the fandom. Thanks✨ Some I did gather from whatever from the fandom made sense.

If you’re still reading my five-page essay… lemme say that nomatter what, there’s so many people on the planet, SOMEBODY on this rock will love and accept you. It may take time to be ready to accept yourself even, and that’s okay. I don’t know where I’m going with this but, yay Pride month✨

I have so, so many wips so here are seven snippets from seven different works lol

1. mirror-born [original]

Once she’s changed, she sits down in front of the mirror and ghosts her hands over the makeup products before her. One by one, she puts herself together, until the only reflection staring back at her is ‘Tala.’ Dark red lips and sharp-winged eyeliner, the tiniest bit of blush, nothing too heavy for an uncomplicated, everyday look. The yellow eyes of a royal. Her long hair allowed loose at her back for lack of much physical work to be done. Beautiful and perfect. A princess. The crown princess. Isidora smiles Tala’s smile into the mirror. Sits straight, hands clasped in her lap. It’s second nature by now, really, but it never hurts to make sure she hasn’t lost her touch.

2. dear friend, do you hear? [enstars x twewy]

Kohaku is exhausted. Exhausted and sore, which he didn’t think was possible when he’s dead, but here he is, aching down to his bones, legs struggling to keep him standing. He doesn’t let himself drop, no matter how they scream at him. He has to stay standing, he has to move, because Aira is just a few steps away but too, too far and shuddering, heaving, sobbing into his hands and Kohaku wants to—he wants— He doesn’t know what he wants to do, but he knows he never wanted Aira to be hurt like this.

3. sk8 pov outsider (again!)

Reki rubs the back of his neck. “Sorry, that was uncalled for.” Maki shrugs. “It’s fine. I’m not bothered.” He really isn't. “I asked him out a few times,” Reki tells him. “He didn’t get it, so I stopped. I like being his friend so, it’s not like a big deal or anything, but… You know, sometimes, I think, like, maybe? But then it passes and he’s just normal again and I feel like I imagined it. It’s just kind of… tiring.” Maki frowns. He doesn’t like the look on his face or his tone, self-deprecating, maybe even bitter. “I know I don’t have much of a leg to stand on here, but if it’s any consolation, I think he likes you a lot.” Reki just sends him a wry smile. “Yeah. But only as a friend, I think.”

“Would you slow down, for the love of the Blaze!” Kane Hauer griped, glaring at his unfairly tall and long-legged companion as they made their way through the Light Palace’s bustling courtyard. He tried very hard to maintain his elegant gait, but Aleksey Volkov had a way of forcing him to break his composure. “I’m not even jogging,” Aleksey retorted, though he did slow his pace long enough to allow Kane to catch up. He then returned to his normal walk and laughed loudly when Kane let out a harsh noise from behind him. It was only his need to maintain his noble image that kept him from swearing loudly at him. Aleksey, on the other hand, was known to be eccentric, and thus he had no problem acting as he pleased. “Your walk is my jog,” Kane said through gritted teeth. “That’s your problem, not mine. Ah, Theo! Lyssa!” Aleksey was quick to abandon Kane as he spotted the two familiar figures conversing by the center stage. They whipped their heads around at the sound of his voice and excitedly waved them over. Aleksey grinned, thinking they looked a bit similar with their light-toned hair and bright smiles; though, he would never dare insult Lyssa by saying she had more than surface similarities with their ‘free-spirited’ second prince.

5. capman reki au

His fingers were shaking, trembling around his phone. The screen went dark with inactivity and he saw himself in its reflection, wide-eyed and blurry and terrified. Was that how he looked against Adam? He hunched over, feeling sick all of a sudden. In the corner of his eye, a big, dark figure appeared at his side. Anyone else would have flinched or worse, but he was used to this sudden appearance. In fact, it calmed him a bit, though not enough to make him relax. “Reki,” said Tanaka lowly. They didn’t touch him, but he thought he could sense their hand hovering just over his back. Tanaka was here as themself today, he recalled, not as a capman. “Do you want me to get your friends?”

6. doubt the game [khr oc]

Lambo freezes. “You’re Katou-san?” He blinks. “That’s my name.” “Fuuta-nii won’t shut up about you!” Lambo exclaims, feeling anger rise in him again. “It’s all ‘Katou-san this’, ‘Katou-san that’ and I came all the way here to see why and I don’t see why! You look like nothing! Who even are you?” Katou stares at him, shocked. “Did—did you just say I look like nothing?” “It’s true,” Gokudera says.

7. empty beginnings (or: I Became The Guide NPC in a BL Dating Sim) [enstars]

He stared down at you, cheek propped on the knuckles of one hand from his spot atop the pile of broken time. In his other hand dangled an hourglass, the top almost completely run out. “You couldn’t be satisfied with this one either?” he sighed. You pushed upwards against your hands. Stood, shakily. “No,” you said firmly. “Never.” With your one good eye, you stared over his shoulder at the pictures flying behind his back. You couldn’t stop. It was so small; if you looked away, surely, you would lose it again. The time ran out and, just like its predecessors, the hourglass immediately shattered. Glass and sand fell between his fingers, slipping to join the wreckage below.
