Is it a lack of variety in men’s fashion or is it a poor attempt at flirting?
Say it with me kids: It’s both

Michael Sheen as the Master from Doctor Who.
On the BBC show The Assembly, Michael Sheen was asked who on doctor who he would play and he said the Master. Ideally opposite David Tennant ofcourse. He also mentioned Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker being his first doctors so ofcourse I had to be inspired by Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley.

So, everyone has pointed out how funny it is that fifteen claimed to have gone through therapy and be fine now only to immediately act just like his old traumatised self and it is but like…
Has anyone considered fifteen was lying?
What if he hasn’t actually experienced that domestic bliss that fourteen got to enjoy or have fourteens memories following their split at all? What if he just told fourteen he did to convince him to stay on earth and be happy so fourteen could have a chance at happiness that fifteen believes he will never have and doesn’t deserve and his seemingly incredibly upbeat personality is just a facade?
I mean this sounds incredibly in character for the doctor to me tbh

One thing I really love about the Doctor and Donna being platonic friends is that they aren't just platonic because Donna has her own partner.
It was made clear pretty soon after she started traveling with them that she wasn't at all romantically interested in the Doctor not because there was someone else but simply because she just didn't like them in that way.
And I'm happy about that because I feel like most media thinks that there has to be some deeper reason for why a woman wouldn't be interested in a masc/male presenting character especially if she's close to him. They don't believe that it can be as simple as her just liking him better as a friend.

The ultimate goal would be to gather all the blorbos together and put them in the same room. And I mean ALL
You bring me the Doctors with the universal translator so Eponine can hang with Elizabeth Bennet & Fanny Price and I want Legolas to meet Benedick from Much Ado about Nothing, not for any particular reason, I just want to know if they'd be friends. I think Marianne Dashwood would love Gilbert Markham and and Jane Eyre needs to have a serious discussion with the second Mrs. De Winter and maybe they could both give some advice to Rosamund from A Long Fatal Love Chase. What do Gandalf and Merlin think of Prospero and Howl? Can Princess Bubblegum do some mad science with Viktor Frankenstein?
The possibilities are literally endless.

do you like rose?
Rose Tyler, yeah! She’s my favorite companion in Doctor Who. I think the best parts of Doctor Who are when he, the big immortal hero, is demonstrating that ordinary, finite people are worthwhile. And Rose is just…super ordinary. Think about it, when you try to describe Rose and who she is and what makes her unique out of all the other companions, you can only say “she’s the one the Doctor falls in love with.”
I mean obviously you can say other things. You can say, “she’s compassionate, she’s brave, she always cares about everybody, she understands the Doctor, she’s 100% loyal to the Doctor, etc.” But honestly, before the Doctor, she’s just a girl who works in a department store. Who has human flaws, like being impulsive or jealous or immature sometimes. That’s it. No gimmick. No qualifications that would make her an asset to the Doctor, like Martha being an actual Doctor. No reason the Doctor would feel guilty or heroic or something and take her along, like he does with Clara or Amy. Just his friend, who happens to treat everyone, whether they’re clones or servants or test subjects, like they’re all important.
I think Donna Noble falls into the same category, so she’s neck-and-neck with Rose for my favorite companion. But I just like that Rose brings out the “everybody has value, and everybody can prove that to everyone else by making a stand” in the Doctor.

In honour of his birthday, I'm going to rant about some of my favourite roles of the global treasure (yes, I'm promoting him from the ‘national’ status), David Tennant. Feel free to add your own.💙
Tumblr media
Fourteen Doctor: This might seem like an odd choice to start with when there are popular choices like the Tenth Doctor and Crowley, but this character holds a very special place in my heart. I've been a fan of DT for about 6 years now and it started with Doctor Who. I love Ten but Fourteen is just more dear to me. Mostly because he made me excited again for one of my favourite TV shows. As a character, he has all the trademark qualities of the Doctor - the genius level intellect, endless compassion, and love for new adventures. But he is somehow more mature and softer, and I loved this development. Also, that blue coat and that (1) button - you know what I'm talking about.
Phileas Fogg: Such an underrated TV show. The chemistry of the trio, the adventures, the title sequence music - there's so much to love about this. And Fogg is such a real character. So far from perfect, this man will often appear as aloof, vain, self-absorbed and even a coward. But I think Phileas is one of the best roles ever played by Tennant. Yes, he's flawed but he's also intelligent, so incredibly kind, and yes, even brave. If you haven't watched this show, I highly recommend it.
Alec Hardy: So different from most other charming roles of DT, Hardy is a sad wet cat. He's grumpy, not nice, and just really tired of the world (who can't relate though?). His reluctant friendship with Ellie is one of the best parts of the grim show. And the fanfic lover in me can't stop screaming about how whumpable he is.
Crowley: I was going for the top three kind of ranking but the thin dark duke slithered his way over. And how can you not love Anthony J. Crowley? From this pure delightful joy while creating stars and nebulae (I can't get over David's face and the happy noises he makes in this scene) to his reluctant and vast love for his Angel and the earth, Crowley is very easy to fall in love with (take notes, Aziraphale. I know you love him but please use your words. Crowley, at least, tried).
I wanted to add more characters, especially the Shakespearean ones (I love Hamlet, but Benedick has my heart), but the list won't simply ever end then. So, I'm just going to say name all the ones I love and end it here - Simon Yates (There She Goes), Dave Tyler (Single Father), Campbell Bain (Takin' over the Asylum), Harry Watling aka The Sexy Vicar (Inside Man, this show was so freaking stressful but I loved David's character), every single Shakespearean character he ever played (even the ones I haven't or probably won't ever get the chance to see - cries in Macbeth), and, of course, Scrooge McDuck (DuckTales).
So, thank you DT for gifting the world with some of the best, most adorable, wholesome, gender-enviable characters to ever exist. (Except for the creeps, freaks, and ruthless murderers, which we kind of love as well). Happy Birthday! 💙

does anyone have any post-s2 fix-it recs in which aziraphale isn’t made the bad guy? i keep seeing all these stories where aziraphale is begging for crowley’s forgiveness and it takes time for crowley to accept the apologies and aziraphale was 100% in the wrong etc etc. i can’t seem to find anything that deals with the fact that aziraphale did something brave and moral in wanting to make Heaven a better place, and as an aziraphale kin i’m really struggling to engage with the fan base. if anyone has any fics for aziraphale defenders PLEASE drop them i am begging.

Do you ever think about how happy Ten was to be alive and how he was born out of love and how he loved being alive and being himself so much that he forced himself not to change when he regenerated AND LATER regenerated into himself a SECOND TIME and do you ever think about how desperately he didn’t want to regenerate and the only reason he did WAS OUT OF LOVE for a sweet old man and do you ever think about how he was literally made to love and be loved by Rose Tyler and how even when lost her and got her back and lost her again he didn’t want to stop being the person he was when he was with her and how deeply her presence in his life changed him and how precious she was to him because of that and how precious that body was to him because of that because it was the one that Rose Tyler knew and loved and DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT HOW TEN WAS LITERALLY MADE FOR ROSE TYLER

My only complaint with the new TARDIS is that the big-ness that allows for running around also feels empty.
My solution: do what 12 did to 11’s later setup. Fill that bitch with bookshelves, weird busts of Beethoven, some weird instrument.
Make the TARDIS feel like the place where the doctor (rarely) sleeps. That’s their home! It’s not a sports car, it’s a camper van at best
