I don't think fic writers know how much they matter

Do you know how many times you distracted me when I was hurt or lonely? Do you know how many times a line or a scene from fanfic marked me so much that I remembered years later, even though I can’t recall my own phone number? 

Even if the fic isn’t perfect or popular or multi-chaptered… Sometimes there’s just one sentence that changed me.

While I have yet to step into an actual tardis, watching Jodie's doctor who seasons did somehow take me to the other side of the planet with some really cool people so this first episode will always have a special place in my heart 💙💙

The Master and The Doctor dynamic is really funny in comparison to other versions of the "hero and villain used to be friends/sort of still are friends/you could interpret them as ex-lovers" trope. Most versions of this trope like magneto and sinestro are well-intentioned extremist villains so you can see why they used to be friends and where their ideologies diverged. Whereas The Master just straight up commits mass murder for fun. Yet The Doctor is so unhinged that the Doctor Who fandom universally accepts this without question. We're all just like "yeah that seems like the kind of guy The Doctor would hang out with".

imagine: you get your memories back after years of amnesia to find out your whole species is dead and earth doesn’t exist anymore. that the only thing left of your culture is your weird ex and his busted honda civic that barely even works that he stole from the government when he was 13. And he’s been taking members of an alien species for trips in his honda civic and they’re all like “woah it’s so cool” and you get upset because it’s NOT COOL it’s a honda civic, the turn signals don’t even work “wow it can go up hills” yeah OF COURSE IT CAN GO UP HILLS EVERY CAR COULD DO THAT. but they’ve never seen a car before so everything it does is the coolest thing ever. And your ex’s only tool is a fucking screwdriver which is somehow also cool to this dumbass alien species even though it’s a fucking screwdriver so you just look like an idiot screaming about how none of this is even cool it’s actually really shitty but your whole planet is gone so you can’t even prove it but also you’ve had a constant drumming sounding in your head since you were 10 slowly driving you insane. I would become evil too.

remember when 12 finally let Bill into the vault and she thought she was going to meet a cool new sci-fi monster and instead Missy and the Doctor flirt back and forth over a grand piano until Missy is like ‘btw she has to die :)’

i love seeing the difference between nuwho and classic who bc the revived eras like 'he just saved the universe for the 5th time, the lonely god, there are entire galaxies afraid of him' and then classic whos like 'in today's episode our favourite silly guy the doctor runs over a dude with a boat and beats up like 20 people with his bare fists. stay tuned for more'
