My hot take is, in terms of marriage to Lucy, I don't think the suitor squad was created equal, and I think that Lucy made the right choice and Arthur was the best long term relationship for her. I don't think Quincey or Jack would have made her unhappy, but it would have been the most equal with Arthur. I really don't mean this pejoratively but I would say that Arthur and Lucy are on similar levels of average intelligence, while the rest of the polycule is brighter. Neither of them are insecure about this and they'd be happy to be married to someone smarter than them... but also I think it would be best for them to be equally matched. That way neither of them fall into the habit of never trying to think. Plus they're both just, decent, happy people and they don't take much to be happy. Particularly in Seward's case I'm kinda like "oh no girl stay away from that man's 10 raging mental illnesses." Not that people who are mentally ill can't handle a relationship, but Lucy in particular I think just wouldn't know how to handle them, other than to be cheerful and kind, which wouldn't be bad but it wouldn't be great either. I think Seward would do best with someone who was smarter than him, and who maybe understands mental illness a little bit more. I feel like he latched onto the idea of Lucy bc he's so depressed and she's so happy, and he liked to be around that happiness, but I don't know where that leaves her. In their marriage I think Seward would value her as a kind and good wife but I don't think it would be the deeper kind of "we tell everything to eachother" relationship. Quincey is not enough of a character for me to make a comparison but I still just look at Lucy and Arthur and see the best match.
