Faerie Story- The Peach Tree Girl
a short story I wrote a little while ago. I'm still not 100% sure what the moral is, any help deciphering it would be a-peach-iated!

There once was a wood witch who wanted a child of her own.
Being a witch, the village people hated her, and she hated them right back. She had no desire to seek company outside of her woods. So she spoke to The Green Man.
The Green Man told the Wood Witch to wander deep into the forest until she found a peach tree with wood as red as blood and fruit the colour of the setting sun. once she had found it, she must take a peach and swallow it whole. Only then would she bare a child.

Being a Wood Witch, it did not take her long to find the tree the Green Man spoke of. Sure enough, it stood proud in the heart of the forest. Hundreds of red-gold peaches hung fat and ripe on its branches.
Each one the size of two hands together. The wood witch searched for a small fruit, for she only wanted a small child, but each mighty peach was uniform in size and shape. Eventually, she settled on one on the highest branch which had been lovingly kissed by the sun. then, opening her mouth as wide as a snake, she swallowed the peach whole.
Very soon, she felt the stirrings of life in her belly. Then, just as the first snow of winter began to fall, The Wood Witch gave birth to a healthy baby girl with hair the colour of a setting sun and skin as soft as a ripe peach. The wood witch named her Persica.

Over winter, Persica grew quickly, unfurling like a bud from a tiny newborn into a smiling toddler, then into a dainty child. by the time spring had arrived bringing out all the blossoms in the wood, Persica had blossomed too. She was now a lovely young woman with a star in each eye and hair like a long ray of sunshine.
Persica and her mother were happy in their forest home, gathering spring herbs and fruits during the day, and enjoying cool spring nights dancing and laughing under twinkling stars.
One day, as she was gathering mushrooms with her mother, Persica took a tumble and cut her arm. But instead of blood, nectar poured forth. The Wood Witch bound it as best she could but still the wound bruised and festered like rotting fruit, slowly spreading up Persica’s arm.
Distraught, the wood witch consulted her books, scryed with spirits, and asked the mountain for a cure. The books, the spirits, and the mountain all gave the same answer.
‘The only way to stop the spread my darling, is to become a real woman.’ Said the Wood Witch sadly.
‘A real woman?’ Persica asked ‘Mother, can’t you make me into one?’
‘I’m sorry my child, I don’t know how.’ Replied the wood witch. ‘You must go out into the world and find your own way.’
And so the Wood Witch gave her daughter some bread and cheese and a flask of lavender cordial and sent her out into the world to learn how to be a real woman.

Very soon Persica grew tired, and her festering arm ached. So she stopped to rest beneath a tree. Sore, tired, and missing her mother, the peach tree girl began to cry. A snake who had been hunting in the branches heard her cries and slithered down, curious.
‘what’s wrong?’ asked the snake, and Persica, who had never encountered a snake explained her predicament. The snake was charmed. Not by her tale, but by the way her hair reminded it of the sun it longed to bask in every day. How wonderful it would be to wear that hair like a shawl made of sunset.
The snake had a plan.
‘a real woman is as cunning as a snake. If you lie with me tonight, I will give you some of my snakeskin. And that will make you into a real woman.'
Persica hesitated- but she so desperately wanted to be a woman, and the snake’s iridescent coils looked so shiny and inviting. So she agreed and curled up against the snake. As she slept, the snake stole her sunlight hair.
When she woke, Persica was cold and sore. She touched her head and felt the nakedness of her scalp all fuzzy and bare like the underside of a peach. All that remained of the snake was a sheet of discarded skin. Once the shock had worn down, Persica picked up the snakeskin and miserably placed it on her head where her hair once sat.
‘Am I a woman yet?’ she wondered. ‘I don’t feel any more cunning.’
And still, she trudged on. The next evening she came to a farm on the outskirts of the city. Cold and sore, she stopped to rest in the barn. A curious pig approached.
‘how do you fare, my lovely?’ asked the pig. Persica, who had never encountered a pig, but knew it wasn’t a snake, once again told her woes.
‘…and then the snake left with my hair!’ she finished, wiping the tears from her eyes. The pig was charmed. Not from her tale, but by the sweet smell and luscious look of her skin. Its mouth watered.
‘Silly girl.’ said the pig. ‘cunning alone will not make you a woman. To be a real woman you must have lovely round curves like me. If you lie with me tonight, perhaps you’ll catch them too.’
Persica hesitated, but the pig looked so warm and cuddly, so she curled up next to the pig for the night. And as she slept, the pig ate her sweet flesh leaving nothing behind but peach-tree bones and her festering arm.
The next morning Persica woke to find the pig had rolled on top of her, snoring in a deep slumber with a full belly. She crawled out and looked down at herself, noticing the curve of her peach-tree bones.
‘I can see my curves. Am I a woman yet?’ she asked. But the pig would not respond.
So Persica gathered her snakeskin shawl and headed into the city.

As she approached the marketplace, she heard a scream and a lady pointed in horror at her bare wooden legs. People young and old fled her path shouting ‘Monster!’
Two guards swooped on her and promptly took her to the castle in chains.
Persica was taken to the throne room and thrown at the feet of the king and all his courtiers.
‘who are you?’ asked the king. And Persica, who had never met a king, but knew it wasn’t a pig or a snake told her woes to the king. The king was revolted by the sight of such a thin and bald monster. But as she looked up, he was charmed by the stars in her eyes and longed to wear them as a pair of matching earrings.
‘Everyone knows,’ boomed the king ‘it is not cunning or curves that makes a woman a woman. It is a man which makes a woman a woman. As the king, I am the manliest of all men. Lie with me tonight and my manliness will make you into a woman.’
The courtiers applauded his generosity and congratulated the king for being so wise.
Persica hesitated but the voices of the courtiers swirled around her head, encouraging her to take up the king's generous offer. and so, she followed the king to his chambers to lie next to him. That night the king gouged the stars from Persica’s eyes and had his guards take her far, far away, out to the countryside.

Persica woke. Blind, cold, naked and sore. And she wailed in misery. By now she was barely more than a wooden skeleton stumbling about the fields.
Eventually, she curled up in an apple orchard and waited to die.
It was the young Apple farmer who spotted her. She had been wandering the orchard tending her trees when she saw the cluster of naked branches which was once Persica.
Lovingly, the young apple farmer took the peach tree girl back to the greenhouse. Where she treated and bound the festering wounds, and lay Persica in a warm garden bed.
‘Will this turn me into a real woman?’ Groaned Persica.
‘I don’t think so.’ Said the young apple farmer. ‘But each day I will care for you until you are better.’
And the farmer was true to her word. Each day she came to tend Persica with care. The young apple farmer fed her and dressed her wounds. soon her legs were thick again with life and she was able to stand on her own, her sunlight hair swathed around her like a cloak, and the stars returned to her eyes.
One day the farmer said ‘I think you’re better now.’
‘I feel better.’ Said Persica. ‘different too. Happy. Oh! Was it your love and care which has finally turned me into a real woman?’
‘A woman?’ said the Farmer. ‘you’re no woman. But you are surely the loveliest peach tree I’ve ever seen.’
And she was right. With gentle care, Persica had grown into a beautiful peach tree with wood as red as blood and peaches the colour of the setting sun.
To this day, the peach tree rests in the greenhouse. Tended by the apple farmer, who is no longer young, but gentle and adoring as ever. Together they make the sweetest peaches ever tasted.

i really recommend cosimetic for eye makeup! they have tons of nice 2d lashes as well. also magbay for liners! they are 10/10
that blush by peachy faerie is basically the only blush i use. i love it so much & they have tons of other great makeup cc, too!
i literally use slephora's nessa gloss on so many of my sims, i just play with the opacity! it's my favorite ever. (unfortunately it's paywalled, but i got it from dollhouse mafia) other lip cc that i love are lucid dream by pralinesims, knockdown by remussirion, and most of northern siberia winds' lipsticks! <3

Kamikotized Hero Design
Working on writing the first Hero Shadybug and Claw Noir fought. It’s rather long so in order to save space, I wanted to describe the costume’s finer details here, along with reference pics. If anyone is a talented artist and is accepting commissions, I would be most grateful~
Mireille Caquet as kamikotized hero “Faerie Weather”
Her design is a combination of her weather powers and a korean “fairy” from folklore, a tribute to her korean heritage as well has a pun on “Fair weather” which is the opposite of the “Stormy Weather” akumatized villain that Hawkmoth created.
(In the universe of Shadybug and Claw Noir, Aurora became the weather girl instead of Mireille, but rather than being bitter about it, she is supportive of her friend but wishes there was something she could do when terrible weather conditions threaten to destroy a very important event)
Her hairstyle is the same but her hair is now a pale lavender and her eyes a golden sun yellow. Instead of her normal human ears, she has long, pointy, elf-like ears that stick out of her hair for a cute, pixie-ish effect.
She wears a korean hair band and the ornament in the middle of her forehead looks like the sun peeking out from behind a gray cloud and there are 3 strands of blue, raindrop shaped beads that hang down. (See reference photo for hair ornament placement)
Via make-up, her face is just slightly paler than her usual color and she has more pink peachy blush on her cheeks than usual, a bold, bright lucky red lipstick (to symbolize strength), and peachy-red and white eye make-up that is dramatic but modernly stylish rather than traditional. (See eye make-up reference photo)
Her costume is similar to hanbok (traditional korean wear) with the jeogori (top) being a bright sky blue with white trim and canary yellow ribbon bow. There is sparse embroidery on the blue section and it looks like fluffy white clouds with an occasional rainbow. Sleeves are traditional shape and length.
The chima (skirt) is shorter than traditional length, like a casual modern hanbok style or that of a magical school-girl (but not pleated or ruffled) it comes to just above the knees but the majority of the upper thigh is still covered because while Mireille is a modern teen, she still dresses modestly because that is her comfort level.
The skirt is white, as is her leggings- not only because it symbolizes purity and innocence, but because white hanbok in korea represent resistance and petition against injustice and abuse of authority (it does not symbolize death like a white kimono does in japan).
There is very little embroidery on the bottom edge of the skirt and it looks like golden outlines of shining suns. (Optional if you think it looks too busy)
Her shoes are traditional unhye in canary yellow- to represent taking action.
(These are to incorporate the 5 colors of korea which is found in most traditional wear, with the exception of black (death) which has been replaced with the pale lavender for a gentler look.)
Her item that contains the kamiko is a traditional rounded hand fan, dandeon.
The tasseled knot hanging from the bottom of the fan is rainbow. The picture painted on the paper part of the fan changes depending on the power she wishes to use- if she wanted to use the power of wind, she would spin the handle to flip the fan to the other side and you would see a picture of a gust of wind blowing away clouds. For rain, flip again and the picture changes to dark clouds with rain falling, etc. Then it is simply a matter of waving the fan in the direction she wishes the selected weather to go, just like how in canon, Stormy Weather/Climatika had to point her parasol to direct her powers. Please draw a weather symbol of your choice. It should be simple and cute- like the kind you would expect a teen weather girl to show the forecast on a map.
She does not fly with wings, but like an asian dragon does not fly but rather grabs clouds to crawl across the sky, Fairy Weather steps on tiny blue balls of flame (no bigger than tennis balls) like stepping stones. (This is another nod to old Korean folklore).
She still has Mireille’s gentle smile.
Unlike the garish/clownish villains that Hawkmoth creates, the kamikotized heroes that Betterfly creates are beautiful/handsome/cute and actually stylish.

CH 3: Everything Is Peachy Keen
Summary:
The one where Azriel's not allowed to wake up and we meet more of the players in the game.

[Eris's POV]
“Is that everything you wished to discuss today?” Eris asked, watching Ciaran, the heir to the Spring Court, flip through the new agreement.
Ciaran becokned with one hand and a mortal man wearing a Spring Court green livery, scurried over with his eyes downcast. The man handed him a seal, making sure that his gloved hands never touched his lord.
Eris didn’t like mortals much. They always smelled faintly of decay. It was one of the reasons he dreaded these annual meetings where Autumn coordinated their border patrol with Winter, Summer, and Spring. The meeting in Winter wasn’t so bad, but Eris detested Spring and Summer. They were the only two courts in Prythian that still followed the old ways of keeping mortal slaves. His hounds were treated better than the majority of mortals in those courts.
As Captain of the border guard, however, it was his job to attend these meetings so Eris did. The only positive thing about the slog of an afternoon he’d had was that he got to get out of Autumn for a rare moment.
Ciaran flipped his blonde hair over his shoulder with a sigh and stamped the document with his seal. “Yes, that covers nearly everything.”
Internally, Eris groaned. He just wanted to get out of there. The heir’s emerald eyes shone with amusement. It was one of the things about him which peeved Eris to no end. Ciaran always had a smug look about him, like he knew more than he was letting on when, realistically, he was one of the least intelligent faeries Eris had ever met.
“I heard that you’re engaged, to a shadowsinger no less. Congratulations.”
“Thank you,” Eris replied stiffly.
“I also heard about the unfortunate nature of the…” Ciaran smirked, “exchange.”

This is not a proper ✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:* 🏹ROOK BIRTHDAY SSR FLOWER ANALYSIS* 🏹 *:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧ since all the pics I’ve seen of his card are too low quality for me to confidently say what his flowers are or aren’t but considering Rook holds a special space in my little heart I decided to share some first, highly un-educated guesses about his bouquet! I'll post a proper analysis once I get my hands on a better quality pic of his SSR!
Please enjoy some flower-musings!
The big white ones I assume to be marigolds. Marigolds are a symbol of the sun and represent power, strength, and light that lives inside of a person. They can also mean passion, positive energy and emotion, as well as creativity. (There’s also the expression “to be someone’s marigold” – in this case marigold is a person a person that protects and helps the other thrive, encouraging them to grow.) (However, marigolds may also symbolize a feeling of despaired love, grief, jealousy and mourning, resurrection, remembrance and honoring the dead.) Otherwise, they may be white hydrangeas which symbolize purity, grace and abundance, heartfelt emotion, gratitude for understanding, and apology, or they’re Chrysanthemums which represent loyalty, honesty, and devoted love (as well as happiness, longevity and joy). (White chrysanthemums can also represent death and are popular funeral flowers.)
The darker pink/maybe slightly purple-ish/mauve, if you will, ones could be bellflowers which symbolize affection, constancy and everlasting love, delicacy and humility, maturity and attraction, as well as gratitude, support, and romance. Or they're candytufts (iberis) which stand for joy, beauty and sweetness (as well as stoicism and indifference.) They might also be dianthus which symbolizes feminine beauty and innocence – in purple dignity and power. Lilacs could also be an option which represent purity, innocence and spirituality. (They are also symbolic of a first love.)
At one point I thought foxgloves might be in his bouquet and while I’m no longer convinced of the idea, I still don’t want to rule them out as a possibility until I’ve seen his card in better quality. Foxglove is associated with insincerity, pride, intuition, creativity, and energy, magic, ambition, productivity, communication, cooperation and confidence. In the Victorian language of flowers gifting someone foxgloves means “I am ambitious for you, rather than for myself.” (I just think they'd fit him really well other than the insincerity part. But like I said, not sure any of the flowers in his bouquet actually are foxgloves.) (There also is a folktale that picking foxgloves angers faeries so we might see them again in a Diasomnia bouquet? (foxgloves are poisonous so that belief likely is a simple tale to discourage children from plucking them.))
Moving on to the dusty pink/lighter pink ones: baronesse garden roses symbolize achievement, completion and perfection, and are, as all roses are, a universal symbol of love, desire, and beauty. Another possible rose variation is the hybrid musk rose (rosa moschata) which represents charm. They could also be begonias which represent love, romance and affection, or caution and consideration, as well as good communication between different parties.
Or they are (tower chamois) China asters which stand for love, wisdom, and faith, as well as daintiness. Technically pink carnations are also an option but personally I think they’re too small for that. Either way, pink carnations symbolize gratitude and are generally used as Mother’s Day flowers. Another maybe, more likely not are freesias which symbolize joy, renewal, and friendship.
Onto the more peachy ones: hibiscus flowers’ meanings include ephemeral beauty, romantic love and passion, friendship, hospitality, and joy, as well as happiness, sunshine, and good luck.
At the top left he has what I think are amaryllis which mean pride, strength and determination.
The green ones I believe to be gerbera daisies - a symbol of innocence (of children’s hearts), happiness and gratefulness for the life you've been given. Basically, they are a vibrant celebration of life in fragrant flower form. Or they might be zinnias which represents love that is growing or being renewed (as well as good wishes to someone who’s building and hoping to grow a business – so good luck for financial endeavors)
He has little wheat looking things which may or may not hold any meaning. They might be foxtails, which commonly symbolize financial difficulty and economic change, but they are also believed to be a sign of protection.
One of December’s birth flowers is narcissus which might also be in his bouquet but I can’t say for sure yet. If they are though, they represent creativity, inspiration, awareness and inner reflection, forgiveness, and vitality. (You may give someone narcissi to let them know they’re ‘the only one’ for you.)
These’re all of my personal thoughts/predictions on what Rook’s bouquet might consist of that I'm only sharing because I feel like there's a big lack of Rook brainrot-flower-analysis on my dash. Again, I’m not a flower connoisseur and the pictures I’ve seen of his SSR have been horribly blurry so basically I’ve been going “and this mass of yet-undefined shapes and color that might be purple or pink or mauve or something in between could be that flower :o” and hoping for the best. But as promised, I’ll make a proper post with more accurate (and maybe more detailed) flower-thoughts soon. Until then, that's all I have but please feel free to let me know if I missed or wrongly idenitfied any flowers!
