whoever asked for my lockwood and co playlist, you are in for it :)

so ive decided to give the link to the playlist as well as come up with scenarios for each song so this is. gonna be a big doc. (also book spoilers)

luv l8r - mom jeans im going to be honest, stole this from a fic, not much to say, just a song that reminds me of them

september - sparky deathcap the instrumental just gives cozy vibes, like something theyd listen to together whilst reading in the library, possibly cuddled up on the couch who knows. maybe even a cheeky little george pops in to bring them more tea, and sees them cuddled up on the couch and smiles before leaving the tea at the door as not to disturb them (alternatively: he joins them bc romantic locklyle + qpr george is a wonderful thing)

buzzcut season - lorde LOOK IDK ITS JUST SO THEM I CANT EXPLAIN IT THEYRE JUST SO. its a song with such a nostalgic feeling and i feel like it fits them, its a sort of montage song, at least to me. its a song that reminds me that theyre kids, because they really are just kids being put in these awful situations.

stars will fall - duster yet another library song, less romantic this time id guess, more just all 3 of them reading respectively in the library. lockwood probably reading old newspapers, lucy some sort of novel, and george either reading his comics or researching for a case.

drip drip drip fall - ewy a lockwood song, do with that what thou shalt :)

main character syndrome - wilbur soot another lockwood song. hes got main character syndrome and we all know it. seems a kipps vs lockwood sort of song yk? the lines "its not a problem its his niche" and "he smiles with only half his face" feel so very lockwood to me.

evans song - flower face OMLGFHKJGFHKJFJGH. its lucys song to lockwood. we get plenty of lockwood being a pathetic simp, but what about lucy? "to think i thought ive loved before, to think i fought so many wars" feels like a lucy line. she loved norrie (romantically and platonically (personal hc)), but shes never loved someone the way shes loved lockwood. theyve saved eachother countless times. i love them <3

shadow moses - bring me the horizon my playlist is. all over the place and you can really tell with this one. im not really sure specifics for this one but its definitely an angsty song so something along the lines of lucy getting ghost locked and lockwood panicking -> "can you tell from the look in her eyes/we're going nowhere"

call me what you like - lovejoy feels very "lockwood using holly as a replacement for lucy after she leaves" sort of deal. i will go more in depth on this one if anyone would like but i fear it may make the post longer than it needs to be just please dont attack me over this dhfdfgkjg.

a pearl - mitski HMHMMHMHMH necklace. the pearl is the necklace, lockwood is the war, shes fallen so deep in love. again this is post her leaving, pre her return. shes in an inn somewhere swirling the necklace around her fingers, missing him more than anything, thinking he didnt want her there. pain :D.

under the weather - corpse like i said. very all over the place playlist. yet another lockwood angst song, probably some sort of sickfic type deal, but more lockwood needs a mental health day and lucy (+ possibly george, depending on your personal hc (i am so mentally ill for romantic locklyle + george qpr)) caring for him and just. cozy vibes but also really sad bc <33

clementine - elliott smith herrhfhf scrungly soft locklyle vibes in the morning, waking up together, getting ready for the day together, they end up dancing in the kitchen to this song smiles i love them cries wails sobs

bouquet - ichiko aoba do i know what shes saying other than the flowers? no!!! is it cozy vibes? yes!! they are falling asleep after a long day listening to it i cant explain why

empire ants - gorillaz ft little dragon i. honestly do not know. another song similar to buzzcut season, feels like a reminder that theyre just kids. very well may be a lucy breakdown song who knows :)

it will come back - hozier we got our first hozier song boys. lucy leaving, lockwood breakdown, listening to this on repeat hoping wishing praying that she'll come back. wishing more than anything.

rule #27 - drunk on pride - fish in a bird cage lockwood is constantly drunk on pride, everyone knows it, everyone feels it. this is probably something along the lines of lucy and george being worried for him as he goes into a particularly dangerous job, fully confident and all to prideful. he comes out of it alive, but damaged.

tree hugger - kimya dawson im a bitch for kimya dawsona and fluffy ships but this also is a sort of 'they all wish they where somewhere else, but are happy with eachother too' kind of thing which proabably doesnt make much sense bUT IT MAKES SENSE TO ME OK CSHHSHSHSH

answering machine - ruby haunt to much happiness, angst now. a song lucy had on repeat walking the streets of london early in the morning to get coffee after she had left lockwood and co. maybe even walking past portland row, missing it dearly. little does she know, lockwood sees her, he hasnt slept a bit since lucy left, he usually just stares out the window into the night. but one day, he sees her walking past. he doesnt get out of bed that morning.

sleep thru ur alarms - lontalius i said we where done with happiness. more lockwood mental health issues but this time its the aftermath. lucy sitting in her room after a particularly bad fight with lockwood that had turned into him collapsing in her arms. shes just thinking about everything he said.

A/N: Im so sorry I’ve been MIA, life has been crazy but im back now and motivated! This is a little rough but I hope you enoyed it.

“Okay, are you sure you’re ready ?” Your twin brother corpse asks you for the millionth time. Today you were going to stream with him and meet all his friends which you were both nervous about, Corpse really wanted his friends to like you and you wanted to be liked. You look over at Corpse on your skype cam and playfully roll your eyes.

“ I was born ready. Plus it’s not like I’ve never played video games before, It’s just never been in front of millions of people before.” You worked a ‘normal’ 9 to 5 job but always made time to watch your brothers streams and videos, you truly were his number one fan. Supporting him when no one thought he would make it. You always had each other’s back.

“Okay, everyone else is in the discord server already so im gonna add you and introduce you.” You let out a shaky breath and nod.

“And no one else can see us right?”

“Right, we can only see each other.” You nod again and there was a moment of silence before a loud chorus of voices filled your ears. Most sounded American except for one particular Irish voice that stood out to you. “Hey everyone!” You jump a little hearing your brother’s voice. You’ve known him your entire lives and he still startled you sometimes.

“Hey, Corpse!”

“Hey, Corpsie!”

“Hey! I want to introduce you guys to someone, this is kind of a big deal since but this is my sister Y/N/N.” You cant help but let out a loud laugh which startles everyone.

“I’m sorry I’m sorry I just didn’t know he was gonna call me that.”

“I told you I was gonna call you that!”

“I forgot!” You laugh which causes everyone else to laugh.

“I see the contagious laugh and forget full memory runs in the family” You hear a girl speak up. “I’m Valyrae by the way but you can call me Rae”

“And I’m Sykkuno!”

“I’m Charlie”

“Hey I’m peter or PP”

“Hi I’m Toast”

“I’m Poki!”

“I’m Ludwig”

“And I’m Jack or Sean either work” That was the voice you were most interested in.

“It’s so nice to meet you guys, I’m y-” You accidentally start to say your real name but quickly recover “Y/n/n, I’m Corpses twin sister.”

“C-can I ask you a question?” A soft voice asks you remember as Sykkuno.

“Of course,” You and Corpse say in unison.

“Oooo weird!!’ Jack laughs

“Do you two look identical? You sound so different hehe” You chuckle. That was something you got a lot because his voice was so deep and obviously yours was nowhere as deep as his. You look between Corpse and the little picture of you on the skype call.

“We look pretty similar, obviously I waay cuter” You tease which makes everyone laugh, it felt good to make people laugh.

“She’s lying in the cuter sibling.” Corpse playfully scoffs. This was a new side of Corpse that no one had seen yet. The twin brother.

“Unfortunally none of us can be the judge of that since weve never seen you” Rae says.

“Sean has seen me so he knows im the cuter sibling.”

“Yes but ive never seen Y/n/n, so i cant be a proper judge.”

“Y/n/n can I send him a picture?”

“Uh sure, only because I want to prove a point.” you chuckle. While the picture is being sent and looked at you look everyone up so you could see what they looked like. Everyone was very attractive but Jack stood out to you the most, his eyes made your heart flutter a little bit.

Jack on the other hand was losing his mind over you.

“Holy fuck” He mumbles to himself after muting his mic. You were absolutely gorgeous.

“So what’s your call Jack” The way you said his name made his heart skip a beat. He quickly clears his throat.

“I dont know guys you both are very attractive humans I dont think I can call this.”

“SIIIMP” Rae yells making you jump a little. “He’s totally simping for Y/n/n and doesnt want to hurt Corpse’s feelings” You call laugh and jack tries to hide his blush.

“What they are both attractive! You guys are just jealous that I get to see them and you cant!” He teasingly sticks out his tongue and blows a raspberry at everyone which only made everyone laugh more.

The introductions finally end and everyone gets comfortable with you in the chat before you finally start playing Proximity chat among us. It takes you a few rounds but you get the hang of being a crewmate and of course just as you get used to it you get Imposter.

“Oh god.” You groan as you walk down the hallway.

“Whats the ‘oh god’ for?” The Irish man’s voice fills your ears.

“I-uh um got a task I dont know how to um do.” Jack laughs

“You are a terrible liar, I can help you. We need a code word.”

“A code word?”

“Yeah for when its time to do the thing.” You laugh and nod.

“Oh okay...what about pineapple juice.”

“Pineapple juice?! All the words in the world and you choose that?” he laughs.

“What its the first thing that came to my mind!” Once you both compose yourselves you start walking around and you fake tasks and protect jack while he actually does his tasks.

“Pineapple juice!” You were confused at first but quickly kill the person next to you only to realize it was your brother.

“Oh no”

“Im killed my own twin. There has to be some kind of rule against that.” You laugh.

“Right now we need to run!” You both run off and you get another kill before Corpse is found.

“Okay where was everyone?”

“WHO DID IT WHO KILLED TOAST AND CORPSE?! Sykkuno yells cutting off Chalie. You mute yourself as you laugh but not soon enough.

“Y/n/n why are you laughing?” you cover your mouth as you try to quiet the laughter.

“I just uh-just think sykkuno is funny is all.”

“Are you sure you arent laughing because you murdered youre own twin!” You bust out laughing again, you couldnt handle the pressure which only made everyone else start laughing.

“You are a terrible liar!” Jack laughs. In the end you get voted off but your teammate Charlie wins the game.

“I cant believe you killed me your own brother! Your twin!!” You only laugh harder.

“Im sorry I didnt know it was you!”

“Yeah because you teamed up with Jack!”

“What he nice and cute!” The cute part slipped out causing you to blush but no one acknowledges it until the next game when you find yourself alone with Jack again.

“So you think Im cute, how do you know what I look like?” his voice was laced with a teasing tone.

“I-might have looked you up.”

‘Only fair since I saw your face. We should play again sometime, it doesnt have to be among us.”

“Just me and you?”

“If youre okay with that.” you smile.

“Id like that.”

the day was going by slowly, and it had been rather boring so far. you had spent all day watching other people stream, and, to be honest, you didnt feel like streaming today...

until sean dmed you asking if you wanted to fill in for someone and play among us with some very big creators.

of course you jumped on the opportunity! who wouldnt? it would benefit both your social life and your real life. besides, a few more friends wouldnt hurt.

"yeah, she should be joining any minute now!" you joined the voice chat and heard sean talking about you. "be nice, please! shes a very good friend of mine!!"

"no need to tell me twice!" you heard a sykkuno say. you had been a fan of sykkuno for a long time, but you didnt have the guts to message him. "oh, is that her in the vc?"

"y-yeah! hello everyone!" you said, smiling shyly as everyone tried to say hello at the same time. "I'm Y/N..."

"that's a lovely name, Y/N!" sykkuno said, making you blush and making your chat spam 'uwu.' "I've watched a lot of your streams, I'm a big fan!"

"thank you, sykkuno! I'm a big fan of you too!" and that was the complete truth. sykkuno was a big role model for you, he was one of the reasons you started streaming.

"okay, enough flirting, sykkuno!" rae butted in, making you both laugh awkwardly. everyone went around introducing themselves, and toast started the game.

the word 'crewmate' flashed over your screen. you quickly said goodbye to chat and connected to the proximity chat modules.

it took you a while to connect, though, so when you came back to the game you found sykkuno standing guard and making sure you didnt get killed.

"sykkuno?" you asked shyly, adjusting your headset ever so slightly. "is my mic working?"

"it's working! I can hear you!" sykkuno said, wiggling his character back and forth.

"oh, that's good!" you said. it was a little awkward, you had not the slightest clue on how to keep a conversation going.

"yeah! so, how would you like a body guard?" sykkuno asked, at this point you were both blushing and smiling like dorks.

you were big fans of eachother and didnt think this moment would ever come, since neither of you had the guts to tweet at eachother, let alone send a direct message.

"y-yeah, I'd like that. thank you!" you replied, but before you could move an inch, a body was reported.

"double kill in-" corpse started, but he was immediately shut up by rae's yelling.

"NONONO, SHHHHH!" she yelled, trying to talk over corpse. "BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, ITS CORPSE. I KNOW YOU'LL PROBABLY SIDE WITH HIM BECAUSE OF HIS VOICE BUT ITS HIM!!"

you giggled quietly as the chaos unfolded and rae and corpse started blaming eachother. at one point you zoned out, only coming back to your senses when sykkuno called out your name.

"Y/N?" he asked, you looked up to see you and sykkuno were the last people who had to vote. "are you there?"

"oh! yes! I'm sorry!" you said, fixing your posture and focusing on your screen.

"who do you think it is, I'll vote with you." sykkuno smiled to himself as you hovered over each person who was being accused.

"I think its corpse..." you said quietly, not voting yet, but sykkuno voted right away.

"I trust you, Y/N!"

"fuck, I should've listened to Y/N." sean said, shaking his head. "small brain plays on my end tonight."

you quickly voted and watched as the voted racked up. 3 votes for corpse, 4 for rae, and 3 dead people. it was obvious that rae, sykkuno, and you voted for corpse, so you already knew who voted who.

"should we 50/50 to be safe?" felix asked, standing at the button and waiting to call it.

"speed run?" corpse asked, laughing slightly as felix started wiggling his among us character, his child dancing behind him.

"SPEED RUN!!" felix said in a deep voice, only for reactor to be called. "SHIT." everyone ran towards reactor, leaving you and sykkuno alone at the button.

"hi again, Y/N." sykkuno said, standing on top of you to protect you. "I know you're crewmate."

"yeah, and I think you're crewmate too..." you said, a bit unsure. "because of the double kill."

sykkuno chuckled and wiggled around. "yeah! and, even if you were the imposter, I'd let you kill me."

"what do you mean-" you stopped talking as the sabotage was fixed and sykkuno called a meeting.

"we're alive!" leslie said, taking a deep breath. "so, we were right with rae?"

"I dont think so..." you said, thinking about all the big brain plays you've seen toast do. "I think its toast and corpse. toast does these kinds of things a lot-"

"WHA? ME? LITTLE OLD ME?" toast practically yelled. "I'd never kill anyone!"

"b-but..." you mumbled, trying to sound confident. "we should at least 50/50 corpse just in case..."

"I'm with Y/N on this one!" sykkuno said in his cheery voice, voting corpse and making corpse gasp.

"sykkuno... are you simping for Y/N instead of me?" corpse faked a sad sounding voice. "I cant beleive it. I actually think its Y/N and sykkuno."

"oh, it's not me and Y/N we were together at spawn when the double kill happened." sykkuno smiled, thinking no one would sus you two after that.

"can anyone confirm that?" toast asked and there was silence all around. "GET EM!"

with that, everyone voted, and sykkuno ended up being voted out because everyone trusted toast...

and that's how you lost the game to corpse and toast. damn, they really were amazing imposters.

"how'd you know it was corpse and toast, Y/N?" ludwig asked, making you try and shy away.

"w-well... I watch all of you guys so I know what kinds of plays you make..." you expected to be laughed at, but instead you got praised.

"that was really big brain, Y/N, sorry I threw that game." felix said, running around the lobby.

"yeah, that was really smart." toast admitted. "I guess I'll have you change my tactics from now on."

"oh... thank you all..." you said, laughing gently. "I have to thank sykkuno, hes the one that kept me alive. so, thank you, sykkuno."

"it's no problem! just trying to make sure we all have fun!"

after the stream, sykkuno added you and discord and you started messaging. you were so lucky to be picked by sean to join the lobby, because that's how you met sykkuno!

sykkuno brought joy to your life, even on days when you weren't feeling like there was any joy in the world.

you cherished these moments with sykkuno, and soon enough, he was more than a friend to you. soon enough, he was your bestfriend.

the first clip of al to appear on races channel was of him throwing a kitchen knife into the bullseye of a great value brand dartboard

al is the second best imposter in their group, just barely behind davey

race is the second worst, just barely ahead of spot

pre face reveal when al cameod in one of races videos race would do little animations for als facial expressions like lixian does in markipliers vidoes

al films a prank video with race as his victim by setting up one of those light up cloud celings hes always wanted while race was away for a weekend and he was so happy when he got home

when they filmed a video of reacting to fan made comps, al made the mistake of letting race choose which ones they watch. at first it was going good but the last one they watched was "proving al wrong for ___ minutes" and so inthe video, thered be a clip where he called himself ugly and then immediately after there would be a clip of him being cute or like hed call himself stupid and then itd be a clip of him doing some incredible impostering and al was so embarrassed he really did live up to his nickname

- holy shit i can’t believe i didn’t think of this i LOVE THIS ONE CJSHHDBD. also they FINALLY figured out proximity chat and davey was imposter with the haunting bug so albert was floating near him and he called him oedipus and davey literally got sussed and voted out cause he couldn’t stop crying with laughter. albert was VERY smug

- i- honestly yeah that’s pretty in character ngl. it’s on race’s second channel and it’s a 5 second clip at the end of a VERY OLD video at this point and it took forever for anyone to realize it was albert even later when he publically knew race. like this clip is from highschool and someone’s like ‘WAIT we could’ve found al y e a r s ago kdhdhdh’

- oh definitely. he’s got one of those voices that barely changes when he lies and nobody really knows his tells, but he gets imposter more than anyone else they play with so if he’s even a little sus he’ll get voted out just in case. davey has a similar playing style to toast, so he’s a fantastic imposter but he’s better as detective. albert’s style is more like corpse, he will literally kill someone and self report and everyone will just believe he didn’t do it. if albert and davey are the imposter duo then the rest of the lobby has ZERO chance, they’ll kill everyone before anybody even hits a report button.

- once again, completely correct. race has the opposite thing as albert, he rarely gets imposter and when he does everyone in the lobby can tell he’s lying almost immediately. he only ever gets imposter wins if he’s paired with someone like albert or davey. as for spot, he’s just wayyyyy to aggressive and gets caught everytime except stack kills. they both are confused with how to use vents and it’s completely nonsensical. once they were the imposter duo and spot killed someone right in front of like 4 people and got voted out, then nobody else died via imposter (jack got voted out for yelling speed run, and al got voted out ‘just in case’ even though we all know albert is not this much of a fool) for 3 full rounds (called by using the emergency button) cause race was too scared of getting caught. he got voted out cause davey caught him misclicking and jumping in a vent

- i have literally nothing to add here it’s perfect as is

- all of al’s “pranks” on race are just him doing shit race wants but won’t ask for.

- it started out fine cause it was just the ‘red ranting about butterfly knives but it’s just the most quotable parts’ comp and a few cute or funny ones (particularly a ‘red replacing swear words with niche references’ comp) and then they got to this one and albert is just slowly getting more and more red (also cause this was made by a simp there’s a clip of al going “i’m not even hot shut up” and then it’s just several slomo clips of him doing shit that made twitter go insane. specifically one of him sparring for kickboxing without a shirt on, thank you for that one race.)

- You were so excited you went to wake up your boyfriend to tell him about it

- Luckily for him, he was still awake and was able to accept and celebrated the news with you while simultaneously taking mental note of this new addition to your style

- That’s probably why you found two extra pairs in the package that got delivered the following noon

- The happiness you beamed with is still till this day an image Corpse cannot remove from his mind and will forever remember that moment

- To be fair, you also made his job a little easier when it came to gifts for Valentines, birthdays and Christmases

- He’s always known the perfect gift but now he just bought you different designed floral fishnets which you were more than happy with

“Right, ok we’re officially live!“ Exclaims Anthony as he waves to one of the cameras - the one turned to him - and leans closer to the mic placed on the table in front of him. “Hello everyone, thanks for tuning in today. I’m here with the internet sensation and mystery known as Corpse Husband.“ He turns away from the camera to look across the table at his guest, “Corpse, I hope you know how much effort is being put into editing that sticker over your face for the duration of this whole podcast.“

Corpse, whose face is hidden by a sticker of his avatar, chuckles, “So you’re insinuating that I should probably not move so much.”

“Exactly.“ Anthony laughs, “My guy would be very grateful for that curtesy. Yeah, I have an actual person who I assigned to move around the sticker so there goes an extra paycheck.“

“In that case I promise to give you worthy content. A lot of never previously heard scoop.“ Corpse says, mocking the very words he uses, laughing about them afterwards, “Ask away, man.“

Anthony briefly looks down at a printed sheet of paper before pushing it to the side with a slight furrow of his brows, “You know, these are all cookie-cutter questions you’ve probably been asked many times before. So, I think it’s for the best I ask you something no one has had you talk about. Or something I hope no one has had you talk about yet. If you feel uncomfortable with any question just say so and we’ll skip it right away.“

The sticker moves up and down to mask Corpse’s face as he nods, “Got it.”

“Ok um...“ Anthony falls in thought for a moment, thinking of a question, “The first thing off the top of my head, um, what part of the dark side of fame have you had the displeasure of experiencing?“

Corpse lets out a laugh dangerously close to a scoff, “Almost all if not totally all of it really. There’s such a big chunk of privacy being taken away from you on social media. I got to that point where I felt so naked and seen I felt I was losing myself as my fandom grew. I know it’s many YouTubers’ dream to blow up and have a ton of fans and followers but I never wanted that. Don’t get me wrong, I love each and every one of my fans, I just never expected to accumulate so many of them. I’m such a private person, it was so anxiety inducing in the beginning but I sort of learned how to cope with it, you know? Sometimes, in order to stop people from reaching into my real privacy, I created a fake one that I’d feed into and let them enjoy.”

Anthony’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise, “Wow, how do we know what’s real about you anymore, huh?” It was said more as a joke but he truly meant it. If a person can fake a whole reality for people not to touch into their real one, Lord knows what else they can do.

Corpse huffs, “I’ll give you a hint: If it seems pretty, pink, peach and perfect it’s fake.“ The sticker may be hiding his face from the viewers but it’s most definitely not doing anything to shield the change in expression that occurs on his face from Anthony who’s sitting right across from him and notices the shift right away but before he could question it, Corpse prods on, “Y/N, my partner, can tell you just as much. They know better than anyone what’s the difference between what people know and what the reality is. They know that our relationship isn’t the sunny skies we put on display for our fans. I have my mental and physical health issues, my trust issues and paranoia play a big role in the ‘rains’ in our day-to-day life but they understand it’s all a part of me and a part I can’t control. It actually controls me sometimes and it’s so fucking annoying. But they understand. And while we pretend it’s perfect even though it isn’t, we find our happiness wherever and whenever we can. When it rains so often, you might as well look for a little hint of sunlight. That sunlight can create a rainbow after all. Believe me when I say, that rainbow is the most beautiful thing, makes you forget about the storm that just took place or might even be still raging all around.“ He sighs, preparing to bring his outpour of honesty to a close, “It may be a bumpy road 98% of the time even though on social media we pretend it’s the complete opposite, but that 2% of honest happiness we get from the tiniest of things are more meaningful than I could describe to you with words.“

And he’s more than right, words are often not enough. But the ones he used to describe what he just did were perfectly enough to bring one particular viewer to tears. That particular viewer who knows exactly what he was talking about. Because they are his other half and they’re going through it the same as he is. They’ve gone down that bumpy road side by side with him, ignoring the pain and turmoil while focusing their gaze on the rainbow above. That analogy was theirs from the very start after all. They both knew Y/N is the better one at finding the deeper meaning in everything even when there was nothing to be found.

They always found something. And Corpse will always cherish that trait as one of their best - always finding something to keep them both afloat.

Summary: Sean, Felix, Dave, and Joel welcome Corpse’s girlfriend to a game of Party Animals. It’s her first time playing and she has to deal with a lot more than just the controls and objectives - her boyfriend being a cute, cuddly sweetheart with ulterior motives to his clinginess.

It’s been one hell of a day. Had to correct twice as many documents as I was originally supposed to at work; found my car with a flat tire in the parking lot as I was about to go home; argued with my boss over the phone while stuck in a traffic jam. It’s been a rough twelve hours, but it has led me here and that’s what I’d rather think about.

By ‘here’ I mean I’m sitting on the couch in Corpse’s recording room, my computer in my lap, my screen displaying the screen to the game Party Animals. The suggestion was Corpse’s. He immediately picked up on my below par mood and wasted no time finding a solution to bright up the remainder of the day, shadowing the shitty portion of it. I am not what you would call a gamer. Sure I’ve played Among Us with Corpse and his friends a few times. Even that I struggle to do because I’m internally fangirling over all the people in the lobby. Yeah, dating a youtuber doesn’t mean you automatically stop gushing over the many content creators on the platform you’ve been watching for quite some time now. Corpse knows how nervous I get so he’s always near me when we play with Sean, Felix and the other. All he has to do is give me that encouraging smile and wink of his and I’m good to go. Side note: massive props to him for going easy on me in Among Us, getting teasingly called ‘simp’ by his friends in the process.

“You’ll love it.“ He promised me over and over again as the game was downloading on my computer.

“I don’t doubt that, Corpse. But I am going in completely blind and I seriously don’t wanna embarrass myself.“ I mumble a quick ‘nor you‘ under my breath, hoping he doesn’t catch it because I’m in for a pep talk if he does.

To my dismay, he does, “Listen here, you couldn’t embarrass me even if you actively tried to do something outrageous. Most likely scenario, I’d join you in the act.” He ducks in front of the couch so we’re at eye level, his hand coming up to cup my cheek in the sweetest, most comforting gesture ever. “We’ll show em who’s the boss at stealing candy.”

I can’t help but laugh, feeling unable to express just how much this man means to me. Words can’t do the feeling justice.

“Y/N!“

“Y/N!!“

“Corpse Wife has arrived!“

Hearing all the greetings lights a flame in my chest, the warmth spreading all the way to my neck and cheeks. “Hi guys! Missed playing with you!”

“We missed you too!“ Dave, the only one of the gaming gang I’ve actually met in person, replies to me, his words along with all the others’ wrapping around me like a comfort blanket. Despite them knowing I’m a fan of theirs, they’ve always made me feel welcomed, comfortable, nothing less than them.

“You know anything about this game?“ Felix asks me.

I shake my head, almost forgetting he can’t see me, “Corpse told me it’s funny and cute. It sounds like the perfect game for me.”

“Oh no, this is a game of survival. Survival of the fittest!“ Sean shouts excitedly, a bang following his shout I can only assume was him hitting his desk.

“I’d like to think I’m pretty fit.“ I shrug my shoulders, laughing along with the guys.

“This is the only way to find out if you actually are.“ Joel’s voice comes through my headphones in the form of a tease.

Sean mumbles quietly to himself as he’s deciding how to separate us in two teams. “Guys, a little help here. We all suck at this game, it doesn’t really matter who’s in which team.”

“Actually...“ Felix trails off, “Corpse and Y/N are the ultimate power couple in Among Us. Chances are they will be in this as well. So, the only logical move would be to...“

“I’m taking Y/N, you take Corpse.“ Sean declares. “Joel, Dave, who do you guys wanna be with?“

And the game starts. Sean, Joel and I are the Meowfia while Corpse, Felix and Dave are yet to choose a team name. We throw around snarky, cocky comments at each other, taunting the opposite team as we struggle to take the candy to our respective sides of the map.

“Don’t you dare pull that lever, Dave!“ I launch at Dave, knocking his cute avatar away from the lever, buying Joel and Sean some time to steal back the gummy bear Corpse and Felix took from us.

“Y/N! Joel is out! Help me!“ Sean is freaking out now. I ditch Dave’s unconscious body and run to Sean’s aid.

As I’m helping him push it towards out area a member from the opposite team latches onto my avatar, weighing me down and hindering me from doing anything.

“Hug!“ Corpse laughs as he has literally turned into a koala, holding onto my avatar.

“Corpse, you know you are actually supposed to hinder Y/N, not hug her. It’s cute though, don’t get me wrong.“ Felix laughs as him and Sean continue to struggle over the gummy bear.

“Nah, his tactic’s great. I can’t do shit.“ I desperately try and shake him off, “Babe, this is unfair. I can’t even be mad at you!“ I whine, staring to panic now that Dave is back to life and Joel is nowhere to be seen.

The round is won by Felix, Dave and Corpse who, if I might add, didn’t let go of me for the rest of the game.

We switch maps, now every man for himself. We’re on the submarine, recreating the Hunger Games with cute fuzzy animals. The thought passes through my mind, causing me to giggle.

“Y/N, you sound exactly like I’d imagine your avatar to sound. You’re so cute.“ Sean’s avatar circles mine a few times as he laughs.

He’s not wrong, my pale blue puppy is indeed cute. Apparently immortal as well.

“How is Y/N still alive?! Holy shit, her and Corpse really are a power couple.“ Dave shrieks when he sees me pick up the freeze gun. “NOOO!“ He shouts, devastated by the fact I shot him, sending him straight to his death.

“Chill, Dave. It’s all cool. Nothing personal.“ I struggle to hide my laughter, “No hard feelings, right?“

“Of course not, love.“ I can tell he grits the sentence through clenched teeth.

“Aw Dave, you are such an ice guy.“ I giggle, now shooting Joel with the gun.

“Someone take that gun from her!“ Sean cries as him and Felix race up the submarine.

Suddenly, the avatar of my boyfriend again wraps itself around mine. I hadn’t seen him in a while, considering Sean knocked him into the ocean earlier in the round.

“How are you still alive?!“ I try to spin my puppy to get him to let go but he holds on tightly. “Babe, I swear, you are cute and I love you, but this is ridiculous. How and why are you alive?”

“That’s his superpower! He never fucking dies.“ Felix laughs, letting out a yelp when he briefly slips while climbing.

“Immortals!!! Immortals!!!“ Sean breaks out into a song, a song I really like, breaking the restraints I had on my laughter.

“Drop the gun or we’re dying together.“ He says almost seriously. Even though I can only see the back of his head I know he’s grinning.

“A Titanic/Romeo and Juliet mashup? Why not? I can live with dying a double historical death.“ Even though I appear accepting of his offer, I’m still trying to set myself free.

In the end, Sean claims his first win of the game and the rest of us are dead at the bottom of the ocean. Corpse and I did indeed die a Romeo and Juliet/Titanic death, getting everyone in their feels. We make a deal to get together and play again as soon as possible and we all go our separate ways, exiting the Discord call.

*Later that night*

After a dinner consisting of takeout and two thirds of a shitty romantic comedies, Corpse shifts from next to me, starting to get up from the couch. I am surprised to feel jolted out of a half sleep as the room is now completely silent, the TV being turned off.

“Hey where’re you going?“ I ask groggily, rubbing my sleepy eyes.

“I have some editing to do. Don’t worry, I won’t stay up too late.“ He kisses my forehead before grabbing his phone from the coffee table.

Just as he’s about to walk away, I wrap my arms around his legs. He laughs, catching onto what I’m insinuating. His chuckle brings a smile to my face and butterflies in my belly. No matter how long we date for or how much time we spend together, some things never change.

“Payback, huh?“ He asks, the smile audible in the question. I keep my eyes shut but nod, my arms still around his legs. “Alright, you koala. You’re coming with me.”

In his recording room, he settles in his chair placing me in his lap in a way that my legs dangling off to the side, my side leaning against his chest, my face hidden in the crook of his neck. We’re both comfortable, content and relaxed.

I don’t know when exactly it happens, but all my mind has registered is a quiet ‘I love you’ and the soft touch of Corpse’s lips on my temple. I manage to reply with an ‘I love you too’ before my sleepiness consumes me, my body completely relaxing against his, the warmth of his body, his scent, the sound of his breathing making me feel safe and loved: the two feelings I want him to feel with the same intensity when I’m in his arms.

Something tells me he does.

“Alright people, silence in the call for a moment!“ Jack calls out when the lobby’s counter has finally reached up to nine, leaving room for one more person who is yet to join, but apparently he doesn’t care much that he’ll probably have to repeat himself when the tenth person enters the call and lobby.

“Jack, you should know by now, the day there’s silence in this call is when some supernatural force murders all ten of our mics. It just won’t happen, deal with it.“ Charlie, who was having an ‘intense’ discussion with Toast up until Jack’s interruption, says sarcastically, chuckling ever so slightly, enough for it to be contagious and make me crack a smile as well.

“There won’t be silence, I’ll be talking. If only the rest of you would LET ME.“ Jack replies just as sarcastically, getting Charlie to let out an actual fit of laughter. When his chuckling subsides along with the rest of the chatter in the call, Jack finally gets to have the speech he mentioned, “Right, ok so here’s the deal folks: today we have a guest addition to the stream, curtesy of mine because I’m obsessed with her channel. As you might or might not have noticed, there’s one person missing from the lobby but she’s gonna be joining us any minute now. As I said, I’m a huge fan so you better not embarrass me or I swear I’m gonna kill you first when I get to be an impostor.”

I don’t know what the others are thinking - probably something similar as what I’m thinking though: Noted, embarrass Jack to the best of your ability. Trust me, getting him flustered in front of his YouTube idol is well worth the death in Among Us he’s threatening us with.

“Also keep in mind that she’s of a different kind, not of our breed if you will - she’s an ASMR YouTuber. Not those who eat in the mic just because they think it’d be pleasant for people to hear.“ Jack goes on to explain, the way he’s described this girl’s craft is quite intriguing, especially when you consider how confidently Jack expressed his distaste with ASMR in the past. He’s always claimed not to be a fan but here we are, I guess people really do change.

“Thank you for making it seem like I do more than just cut up soaps, Jack. I really appreciate it but don’t bump the bar up that high, people will be disappointed when they actually visit my channel.“ An unfamiliar voice appears in the call out of nowhere. Though, unfamiliar is not the adjective I should focus on when describing this girl’s voice. I’ll list a few more but even they won’t do it justice: pleasant, awing, mesmerizing, unbelievable, out-of-this-world...I really could keep going.

“Oh come on, Y/N, you don’t just cut up soap. You turn them into bath bombs too!“ Jack laughs, earning him a playful scoff from the newcomer. “Oh yeah, almost forgot - Everyone, this is Y/N, our ASMR artist.“

“Please, some ‘artist’ I am. The people in my comment section would disagree with that description.“ She giggles after kindly responding to each and every greeting the gang sends her way, myself included. “The word I’ve seen people use most when describing my channel is ‘cringey’ so....yeah.“ She laughs, a genuine laugh instead of the bitter one I was expecting to follow such words.

“That seems to be the cool kids’ favorite word, don’t dwell too much on it.“ Rae tells her reassuringly, “What’s important is what word would you use to describe your channel?“

Y/N hums, sounding as though she’s fallen in thought but that’s only one brief moment before she answers. Or begins to, at least, “Well, if I were to describe my channel with one word it’d be....BEEFY!”

That one out-of-context word, screamed out by such an angelic voice has me breaking down with overwhelming laughter collapsing all my ability to hold back.

“Out of all the words, you’d choose beefy?“ I somehow manage to ask between fits of laughter that render me breathless.

“She’s a vegetarian, I think, I don’t know why she’d choose that word.“ Jack too is laughing his butt off but has a significantly better grip on it, “Y/N, care to explain your peculiar choice?“

There’s a lot of shuffling and random noise on Y/N’s end before her reply finally comes, accompanied by a weak meow, “Sorry guys, that was a classic cat of Mr. Beef Stronganoff seeking attention by being chaotic.” She says through laughter, her words followed by another meow which was a lot more clear, seemingly closer to the mic, “He took down my mic, and he seems like he wants to do it again....BEEFY NO!”

For some reason, even with that explanation in mind, I can’t keep myself from laughing. Come to think of it, I think the explanation only makes it funnier.

“Ugh, darn it! I saved my mic but he ran across my keyboard and turned my webcam off how do I turn it back on?“ Her voice dies down for a few secs before it reemerges from her end, “Ok nevermind I got it. Now I can answer...what was the question again?“

Recovering from his laughing fit, Jack manages to repeat the question, “What word would you use to describe your channel?”

“Oh that! Right, ok. Um, I’d call it aesthetically pleasing and BEEFY NOT THE ROUTER CABLE YOU DUMMIE!“

She’s insane. Or her cat’s insane. I can’t tell. Maybe both. Either way, I can’t help but feel like I’ve found a soulmate in this literal stranger. It’s safe to say us chaos magnets like her and I, we don’t only attract chaos, but also chaotic individuals. I’m so glad she magnetized me to herself. Or was it the other way around? We may never know - mystery is in the nature of us chaos magnets, you know.

“Wait, wait, wait, what did I miss?“ I say as I hop into the Discord call and the Among Us server, running five minutes late since I got carried away reading my chat. My fans tend to do that to me - make me lose track of time and everything else. That’s why I usually try to connect to the call and game before I turn to look at my chat. Unfortunately, I forgot that bit today.

“Omg, Y/N! Put the cat ears on! It’s for the greater good, just trust me!“ Rae commands urgently. Amusingly enough, in the background, muffled a little by her voice is Corpse’s, telling me not to.

“Not that I need a reason to wear cat ears...“ I trail off, equipping the cat ears both in-game and IRL. Yes, I own a pair of cat ears, is that so surprising? “But can someone fill me in on what’s happening?“

“’Cat girls are ruining my life’ just surpassed twenty million views on YouTube, so we’re celebrating! And Mr. Popular Pants over here keeps being a party pooper, saying it’s not a big deal and refusing to put on cat ears.“

That’s when I notice that Corpse’s avatar is the only one wearing a different accessory than the rest of us. It’s this kind of tantrum-throwing-toddler that gets me laughing my butt off every single time. Add to it the witty sibling banter between him and Rae, fun for the whole family. Well, ok, not quite for the whole family with the curse words they sometimes drop left and right.

Speaking of cursing, I don’t do it. I was raised in a household where a curse word would earn me and my siblings a punishment - always different and never not creative but most importantly - always intense enough to make us regret saying a no-no word with our parents or grandparents around. That’s kind of stuck with me and I can’t really get over it. Even when I’m upset, the first thing that comes out of my mouth is that censor word YouTubers use to not get demonetized. I’ve been using those words all my life: shoot, freak, frick, crap, darn etc. - so my channel is always kept kid-friendly in that aspect. Now with that context in mind, you’ll understand better the shock I received for this next move I made.

“Corpse, Corpse darling, listen to me. It’s not a big deal, it’s a HUGE deal. Don’t play the humble card with us, we know you too well. Allow us to be as excited as you were when you find out!“ I start off sweetly enough, “Sounds good?“

Corpse hesitates for a second, mumbling something under his breath before replying, “Ok, I guess.“

“Great!“ I clap my hands together, “Then put on the fucking cat ears!“

To say everyone in the call, especially Corpse, is stunned would be an understatement. Hell, I’m even stunned for a second or two, my eyebrows raising at my own out of character words. And, as a person who’s only cursed a countable-on-the-fingers-of-one-hand times in her life, boy did it feel freeing and relieving. Why haven’t I been doing it sooner, for fuck’s sake?!

This must be a huge success for everyone present, once again - especially for Corpse who’s been trying to get me to curse basically since the start of our friendship. He seems too shocked to even claim and flaunt his win over my willpower to keep my language clean, which I honestly appreciate.

“Well, when you put it like that...“ He finally mutters, his voice barely reaching me through the ‘oh my Gosh‘ squeals from Rae, Poki, Lily and Leslie who never thought their tries would lead to success. On the screen, I watch as his little black colored avatar equips the famous cat ears, “...How could I possibly complain?“

“Hell fucking yeah!“ I shout, clapping my hands together, “Wooo fucking hooo!“

“Ok, how the hell are we gonna stop her now? Is there a switch we can flip?“ Toast asks, faux concern in his voice.

“Shut it, Toast. I’ve worked far too hard to have her going back to being an angel!“ Corpse retorts, sending me and the rest of the players in a fit of laughter.

It’s true! He’s been working hella hard to get at least one curse word out of me, bribing me with immunity, threatening to kill me first in Among Us, offering an alliance or being my bodyguard or whatever else I could possibly fall for.

Hey, at least I didn’t get bribed into it, right?

Y/N only remembers shaking this much before your first college exam, while waiting for the results of said exam and while waiting for the results of her pregnancy test. She was pacing the hall outside the bathroom where the stick waited for her to come check on it, arms and legs trembling.

That back then was just expecting anxiety however, this is a whole different type of trebling. Trembling out of nervousness and fear. Fear of how her boyfriend's (aka the father of her baby) friends and fans will react to the news that he'll become a father in a few months. Hell, apart from his close circle of friends, no one even knows she's his girlfriend so this will be a double shock to his entire fandom. And Y/N shudders at the thought of how some of its members will take the news.

“Hey.“ Corpse rests a gentle hand on her shoulder, snapping her out of the fit of panicking thoughts. He knows what’s going on in her head, mostly because he was going through the same in the beginning. However, he’s now completely unbothered - the joy of knowing he’ll be a father overpowering any fear or insecurity he was struggling with in the start. “They can all take it however they’d like. It won’t change a thing for us, ok? We go in, no beating around the bush, tell them what we have to say, and let them process it. How they react or what they think is none of our business. This is the greatest thing to happen in our lives, no one gets to have a say or have an impact on how we take it. No one can hinder our joy. We won’t let them.”

And that’s all she needed to give him the green light he had been waiting for - a nod before the two sat down in front of the screen displaying the Among Us lobby where all their friends had already gathered.

“Hey everyone, mind if we steal a few moments before getting in the game?“ Corpse asks once he unmutes his mic.

“I’m sorry - we? You never told us Y/N would be here too. Hi Y/N! Missed ya!“ Rae squeals with excitement, happy to hear her friend has also joined them today.

“Yeah thought we’d make it surprise. Missed ya too, Rae.“ Y/N replies, her voice ever so slightly unsteady.

“Big thank you to everyone who’s joined the stream today. For those of you that don’t know, this other voice on my end belongs to my girlfriend Y/N.“ Corpse announces, probably a little too casually for his fans’ liking. “However, she won’t stay my girlfriend for much longer.“

His words shock even Y/N but she restrains herself from asking any questions and allows him to continue.

Although she’s still afraid to take a look at the stream’s chat where she’ll be met with Corpse’s fans’ responses, she chooses to focus on the congratulations and praise her and Corpse are receiving from their friends.

When he wraps his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him, she feels all her worries drift away along with any shred of doubt that this experience will be anything short of incredible.

Summary: A misconception or misunderstanding turned rumor threatens to bring down Corpse’s entire career, but luckily, Y/N knows better than to stand aside and let it happen.

“Fuck this game!“ Y/N yells out in frustration as she is met with the screen informing her of her failure - aka death - for the fifth time in the past hour. “Has anyone ever even passed night four? I’m sure the king of FNAF Markiplier has but I’m also sure he hasn’t done it one a livestream! And my big mouth really had to go ahead and swear not to end this stream until I pass this God forsaken night, ughhh!“

Typically, Y/N’s quite the fearful rat when playing horror games, especially when home alone like right now, but this FNAF game has gradually turned her into a raging gamer instead. Not raging as in kicking ass at the game but as in the game kicking the ass of her sanity. She’s been struggling with this specific night for a while - the better half of her previous stream and an hour into today’s. Well, seeing how little progress she’s making with each try, it’s gonna be way more than an hour into today’s livestream as well. She’ll be lucky if she manages to get past it before hitting the three hour mark or just rage quitting which she’s bound to do eventually if her gameplay keeps going at this rate.

Another try later, she’s once again jumpscared into a failure screen that’s practically mocking her at this point. Throwing her arms above her head, Y/N sighs heavily, the frustration she’s harboring becoming more and more evident in her body language. “You know what, I need a break. Lemme see what you guys are saying in the chat.”

Scrolling through comments upon comments greeting her, sending her compliments and some trolling her with some hateful remarks she comes across a question which makes her brows furrow. That same question is repeated by a few other people but they fly by so quickly she doesn’t manage to catch the people’s usernames.

“A bruise on my arm? Where?“ She says out loud as she inspects both her arms, looking for what her chat had been talking about. That’s when her eyes eyes land on the purple mark on the skin just above her right elbow. She laughs, “Oh this? I know I’m a clumsy person but Corpse is to blame for this one.“

Little does the girl know, her boyfriend, who’s currently in his own apartment instead of camping out at hers, is watching this very stream, laughing his ass off remembering how that bruise came to be.

His laughter is cut short though when he catches glimpse of Y/N’s chat which suddenly floods with concern from her fans - assumptions and allegations of him being an abusive boyfriend starting to pollute the previously cheerful comment section. His stomach turns, for many reasons, each reason making it tighten in a worse and more painful knot.

The first blow comes from people actually coming up with such a thing. How could they even allow their minds to wander to such a dark and disgusting place where he’d be even remotely an abuser.

The second blow to his heart is delivered by the fact that people believed it. How and why could people believe such an absurd idea?! How low did these people think of him? What kind of piece of shit did he come off as to some people?

And the third is the mental image the idea gives him. It’s such a fucked up scene, he can’t even conjure it up, he can’t mentally picture it. Hell, he could and would never even raise his voice at Y/N. He’d never dare upset her or hurt her feelings let alone hurt her....like that!

“Whoa, whoa, whoa!“ Y/N’s gasp reaches him as though it was meant to fish him out of the downward spiral he started going down with these overwhelmingly dark thoughts, “What’s with this nonsense some of y’all are spewing in the chat?!“ She sounds downright angry and irritated, ready to fight whoever will continue spreading these rumors about her lovely boyfriend whom she absolutely adores. “Guys, I mean, seriously?! Do you have any idea what you’re talking about and WHO you’re talking about? Do we have the same Corpse in mind here? I doubt we do - you have some villainized, abusive version, and I have the loving boyfriend who tried to teach me how to handle a lightsaber so we can have a lightsaber fight and my dumbass used my own weapon against me. Yeah, I was pretty salty Corpse laughed his heart out while I was cringing in pain, but man, you guys take it farther than the farthest.“ Seeing his sweet, kind and non-confrontational girlfriend who always avoids conflict at all costs turn into this protective lioness because someone is talking shit about him is heartwarming and scary at the same time. “Y’all better shut the hole where these fucked up rumors surfaced from before you get one of the most innocent, loving and caring individuals in hot water for the BS you came up with! Copy? You better.“

Corpse has never in his entire life seen the topic of a stream chat change so quickly, the rumor never once getting brought up again.

That’s some serious power right there - power he never knew Y/N possessed because of her cute and soft exterior. Now he knows what kinda beast of a woman he’s dating - one prepared to do anything to protect him, no matter who from. And damn does that make him feel emotional and loved despite the shit that just happened. She can make him forget all the bad within the blink of an eye - that too is another superpower of hers, but this one he’s known about from the very start.
