I am literally checking your blog daily how the backflipping DUCK did I miss the recent snippet!?!?
It is genius. Bestest thing in the entire universe. I am filled with admiration for your skills. If I were home, I would be screaming into a pillow.
Just how do you make snippets this good?!?? Hahah♡ /pos
Backflipping duck got me, HAHA, thank you for that. Honestly, this entire chapter has been sitting solidly in "there's a lot of emotional fallout here from the previous installments of this series, and it is making me very paranoid about pulling both of them out of character," so I'm really glad people are enjoying the bits of WIP that I've been posting! Now that I've made it through a night out followed by an all-day party, I can sit, relax, and edit the shit out of it prior to posting so that I feel solid about it, hahaha. Anyway, thank you so much! <3 These kind messages have been fueling me amidst all the chaos, ehehe.
More replies specifically on the snippet under the cut! <3
okay I'm DYING over that snippet, alastor is going through a crisis not feeling comfortable with what they've been doing any longer and trying to figure out how to express that and one of the first things vox says when he breaches the topic is "I'm gonna dress up valentino as you and fantasize about fucking you anyway" like buddy!! all horny no brain asdfg they're both killing me omg - ✨
Vox was allowed like two seconds of healthy, genuine communication prior to the snippet I posted before I was like, "Hm, one sec, gotta remind everyone who he is," hahaha. He was, to be fair, mostly trying to be glib in that moment in a way that just didn't land.
Vox says "well it doesn't have to be literally you if you don't want" and Alastor hears "I've objectified the idea of you to such an extent that I'm going to go to such length to still realize my desire to fuck you" and oof.
Hi, anon who loves your writing snippets here 👋
Reaction summarized:
“The Emotions
They destroyed their cage
Yes
YES
The Emotions are out”
In other words: I am ready to be utterly obliterated. Hit me with the emotional weightlifting these two idiots are about to do. I’m rubbing my hands vigorously like a little creacher, a raccoon or common housefly, perhaps.
On another note, so happy you’re getting off to a good start in your residency! As someone who’s been below the poverty line for most of their life, I know how thrilling it can be to look at future housing prospects. There’s nothing I love more than decorating a new space to make it feel like home :). I hope for the best for you these upcoming months!
Ehehehe, what a GREAT use of that poem. >:D The emotions really have finallly destroyed their cage. Time to face the music!!
And ahhh, thank you! Yeah, I've moved around a lot throughout my life (including switching houses weekly between my parents most of my life) and I feel like one of the ways I adapted to it was just being very gung-ho about decorating and home-ifying a place I'm staying, so I'm so excited to finally have a space that is All Mine To Do With As I Please without being concerned about roommates, etc, etc. And it won't be permanent, but I'll be there three years, and that's a decently long time!!

HEY GUYS we made it to 100 posts!!!!! YIPPEE!!!
to celebrate, i thought i'd post something Special™: my shitty analysis of FACES-FAMILY that i wrote way before MEAT came out!!!
if you ever wondered where most of my headcanons regarding the killers' personalities came from, here you go!!
warning(s): mentions of csa/beastiality/general sexual violence, canon-typical violence, mentioned car crash, implied drug use(?), uhhh. time travel
FACES
Original 3 paintings were found in an abandoned storage area, notably separate from the victims they depict & seemingly not targeting anyone directly in their positioning
Lots of stab wounds to first 2 victims; killer likely couldn't control themselves & stabbed way past the point of the victims' flesh becoming hamburger meat
Carla's teeth were removed & Jackie was stabbed in the perineum, suggesting a sexual motive (Carla's mouth could have been used for sexual gratification)
We see Painter's handwriting in FACES, it's notably different from that in which the note from FAMILY was written
Carla, Jackie, & James aren't noted to have any dead/missing family members
Jimmy of "Hanging Jimmy" is still missing at the time of writing
Painter & Bruteforce likely met during the 2 months between the first 3 paintings' discovery & the next few paintings' delivery; they may have killed & stalked a few victims during this time
Daniel & possibly Jimmy could have been killed during this time, and Cory, Maggy, & Tom were most likely being stalked (Lisa & Jennifer were killed between the first tape & the discovery of the Collins' car)
THE LIGHTHOUSE
Bill Collins was allegedly clueless to how the self portrait had ended up in his possession; he is likely not one of the killers
The Collins' car was found 12 days after Angel's discovery; the killers likely drove the rest of the Collins to the lighthouse to kill them
The painting of Angel was found in the car, suggesting that this murder was planned in advance to some extent & that the painting was made prior to this event
The "red abstract face" on the door to the lighthouse appears to be Bruteforce, suggesting his influence or presence during the murder
Lisa & Jennifer were likely hostages or were killed shortly after the first tape was released, as they are noted to have been missing for 7 months prior to their discovery (there were 7 months and 10 days between the first tape's creation and the discovery of the Collins' car/the bodies in the lighthouse)
The state of Lisa's & Jennifer's corpses is not described; we do not know how they died apart from the way they are depicted in their paintings
It is not stated how Mia, Isabella, and Bill Collins died, but they had amphetamines in their systems and ended up as a barrel of meat
Judging by the photos, Isabella was likely the 2nd daughter and Mia was likely Bill's wife
The photo of Painter at the end of the tape flickers twice
The only victim introduced in this tape who was depicted in a painting was Angel, suggesting that the rest of the Collins' murders were Bruteforce's work
This is the beginning of the killers targeting families and children, as evidenced by the Collins, the Whites, and Daniel (who was noted to have been a teenager)
IN THE WALLS
The sewing together of Maggy's upper half and Cory's lower half could have been some sort of twisted "artistic statement", possibly related to the new development of specifically targeting families and children (I can't think of any other reason for the "disposable" halves to be stitched together)
The "MEAT" brick was likely another "joke"; the handwriting is likely Bruteforce's (considering that it doesn't match up with the writing on the back of the first painting in FACES)
Cory's genitals were likely removed via some sort of machinery, considering they were in a paper mill
They also could have been bitten/chewed off and the police could have mistaken it for them having been pulled off somehow
Painter likely grabbed Cory with the intent of raping him right then & there in front of his friends; in consideration of this, Bruteforce was likely also there (to hold the other two in place and make them watch)
Cory was likely in the crawlspace when he was grabbed
THE CLUE
The killers likely did not both enter Tom's apartment via the Pipe™; Bruteforce likely entered normally (i.e., through the door) and restrained Tom before Painter came in through the window
If the wax came from outside, then Bruteforce was likely the one to bring it in
Tom may have been a candlemaker (either for career purposes or hobby purposes), therefore already having a surplus of wax in his apartment
The third arm in the wax may be Cory's (since we still haven't seen what happened to his upper half) or Jimmy's (considering we haven't seen Jimmy at all)
"The Man in the Pipes" is 99.9% Sean; he may have been liquefied somehow and placed inside the Pipes™ of his house
The perpetrator caught on Sean's surveillance camera was 100% Bruteforce (the stitches on his mask are visible if you look closely)
Tom is the first victim to not be noted as having any significant family members since the first 3 murders
WITNESS
Jack's photo flickers in a similar manner to Painter's photo from THE LIGHTHOUSE
The killers may have run the car off the road and fought Jack at some point to gain control of the car (and succeeded, evidently), hence the signs of struggle inside the car and the car appearing to have crashed on the side of the road
This suggests that the killers have a vehicle of their own, which would also explain how they escaped before the police arrived
Tina may have been sexually abused by the killers, hence her arms (so she can't fight back) and feet (so she can't run) being removed
The photo of Flora after her attack also flickers in a similar manner to Jack's and Painter's
Jack may have been given an ultimatum: save Tina & Flora or save himself, and he chose to save himself and was let go under the promise that he wouldn't tell anyone
"Long" can sometimes be used in reference to being well-supplied with something (ex. "long on cash" as opposed to "short on cash"), and its use in the title of Jack's painting may be referring to the fact that he's lucky that he managed to get away (the visuals of the painting being a pun)
Tina may have refused to tell about anything that happened beyond her viewing Flora's face after the attack, possibly because of the abuse that she herself endured; the police may have changed the subject to the sketch to distract her and avoid a panic attack
The sketch 100% depicts Painter
Tina, Jack, and Flora may have been viewed by the killers as some representation of a "perfect family" (despite Flora being Tina's sister) or "perfect people" in general; all three of them appear to be conventionally attractive
This may be reflected in the title of Flora's painting, as "flower-face" is sometimes used to refer to a pretty and/or "perfect" girl
PIGS
Mae's hands were likely ripped off as a result of the weight of the horse above her
The "sildenafil citrate" that was found scattered around the mattress likely refers to Viagra pills, while the plain "sildenafil" given to the horse was likely in liquid form
The bandages and penicillin may indicate that one or both of the killers attempted to inject themselves with the liquid sildenafil
Fiona's head was likely used for sexual gratification judging by its placement near the mattress as well as the title of Fiona's painting, possibly by Bruteforce
Interestingly, this could possibly be the first time that Bruteforce has used any victims for sexual gratification; he may have been coaxed into doing it by Painter
The aforementioned point might also explain the use of Viagra pills
The first two faces nailed to the wall are likely James and Lisa, judging by their skin colors
They may also be the faces of Fred ("Flesh Head Fred") and George ("Wet Skin George"), going by the same logic as FACES in which some of the paintings are made as part of premeditated murders that have already been enacted long before the police find the victims
The decapitated pigs may represent what has happened/will happen to Ian's fellow law enforcement officers
This may also be a threat to the police that find the crime scene, i.e., "if you don't give up, this is what will happen to you"
It is not noted how Ian died; he may have still been alive when stitched inside the pig & might have suffocated inside it
Painter may have been staying inside the tack room when not doing murder-related things; may also have been using Fiona's body for sexual gratification
The tape in the mud may have been recorded over by Bruteforce; may have previously been some kind of home video
The unavailable portion of the tape may contain footage of Ian being tortured, which would explain the "I AM BILL COLLINS" hidden message (Bruteforce is mocking Ian's dead associate to taunt him)
FAMILY
Isabelle may have been Zeke's teacher, hence why she was murdered alongside Zeke and his family; the killers probably didn't want her calling the cops after her student had been missing for longer than usual
They put the baby in the toilet
Isabelle could have provided the fake address as per request of the killers after they slipped a note under the bathroom door that gave Zeke's address and the idea that if she did it, she would survive (which was a lie, obviously)
"The Woman in the Pipes" may refer to Zeke, the fetus, or a future victim; original merchandise store URL was "the woman in the pipes", so it's more likely the latter 2
Bruce was likely killed by Bruteforce due to the relatively low amount of stab wounds
Isabelle was also likely killed by Bruteforce due to the use of a power drill, which Painter probably doesn't know how to use
The note with the riddle, judging by the handwriting, was likely written by Bruteforce
The riddle & Isabelle's murder is one big mean-spirited joke about Isabelle's weight
CONCLUSIONS:
Bruteforce was not there from the beginning; the first 3 murders were done by Painter alone
Painter seems to kill more out of passion, both in the sexual sense and for his art; seems to lose control of himself very easily as evidenced by him stabbing Carla and Jackie so many times and grabbing Cory with the intent of raping him in front of his friends
Bruteforce seems to kill both out of enjoyment (indicated by the numerous jokes, i.e., the MEAT brick and the riddle) and out of some sort of ideology that there are too many people in the world and that the human race shouldn't breed anymore
This ideology is likely why the killers mainly target families and children; the only exceptions to this rule being Painter's "earlier work", Sean Kane (who was a law enforcement officer and by extension a direct threat to the killers' operation), and Tom Harris (who may have been killed out of some personal grievance or "artistic vision" of Painter's)
Despite also killing out of enjoyment, he seems to have no sexual motive behind his murders, although he may have some hidden necrophiliac desires evidenced by the fact that he can possibly be convinced to use victims' corpses for sexual gratification
Many of these murders seem to be premeditated to a degree; paintings seem to be made before victims are killed and appear to determine the method in which the victim will be executed
This isn't necessarily to say that the victims are chosen based on the paintings; rather, the paintings are based on chosen victims and the methods by which they're killed is based on the paintings
One of the killers is likely able to drive (note that "being able to drive" is not equivalent to owning a license or having purchased a vehicle; i.e., their vehicle is likely stolen and whoever can drive probably doesn't have a license)
Photos flickering seems to just be an insignificant visual effect; Jack is likely not one of the killers
