Koushi Sugawara:

Suga likes to cage your body in his. He drapes himself around your shoulders and puts his head between your neck and shoulders, leaving tiny kisses to your shoulders as he mumbles praises like "you fit so well with me..." and "you're perfect." He lays on top of you in a similar fashion, burying his head into your shoulder and just breathing in your comfort as you cuddle.

Tobio Kageyama:

Kageyama cuddles with you in his lap with an arm wrapped around your back that pulls you to his chest. You watch the tv or whatever is on his phone together, or occasionally share snacks. He isnt one for words, so cuddling up as close as he can get to you is his way of showing you how much he adores you. He gives you passionate breathless kisses and holds you just a little closer.

Atsumu Miya:

Atsumu is a clingy guy, and his favorite way to hold you shows that perfectly. He likes to sit down, and you get in his lap- and then he koalas himself around you. He puts his head in your shoulder and his arms around you, legs crossed under the two of you as he praises and presses kisses to your neck. He does this while standing up to, hugging your waist and pressing his face to your neckline while he presses kisses to wherever he can reach in that position.

Shigeru Yahaba:

Yahaba has an odd obsession of holding you by your waist. He likes to lay down and have you lay down on his chest, his hand finds it's way to your waist and his thumb runs small circles around your waistline. He wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you to his side when you sit together on the couch, or when you are standing together doing something. He keeps his hands there as much as he can, even pulling you in by your waist in passionate kisses.

Kenma Kozume:

Kenma doesn't really hold you, he more lays on you and holds your hand. You will be sitting on the couch and he will come lay his head on your shoulder, interlocking your hands with a small smile as he continues whatever game or book he was on before he came to sit by you. He lays his head on your lap and let's you play with his hair as he falls asleep too. He is basically a cat, and shows affection in a similar way.

Tamahiko Teshiro:

Teshiro is one for holding your hand or wrapping an arm around you as you lay beside him or curl into him on his lap. He likes feeling you being close in a casual way and he loves to kiss the tip of your nose as you curl up into him. He mumbles a few "I love you"s and lays his head slightly onto you sometimes and the two of you share those little moments.

Tsukasa Iizuna:

Iizuna likes to hold you laying down or sitting down and hugging you to his chest, your head in his chest or shoulders while your body rests on his own. He presses kisses to your forehead or jawline and praises you contentedly with a smile. After his injury he is forced to sit more, and he enjoys it when you come sit with him and watch the team play while you cuddle.

Isumi Sakishima:

Sakishima holds you by wrapping himself around your shoulders. He doesn't do anything more, just keeping himself there and enjoying the comfort you give him. He is usually rambunctious and egotistical in a way, but he does have his moments of genuine appreciation and love: and these are some of them. Whenever he is in the mood to just hold you, its quiet and serene there together. (Kiss his freckles and he will go into cuddle mode ASAP)

Takeharu Futamata:

Futamata loves to hold you by hugging you. He hugs you, arms wrapped tightly around you while your own are around his shoulder while you both lay down to cuddle. He presses playfull kisses to your nose and cheeks and tells you about his day with smile. He also will come up to you, tap you on the shoulder and hug you when you turn around on days where he is stressed. Hugging you is just his version of heaven.

Eita Semi:

Semi lays his head on your shoulder and puts a gentle hand around your waist when the two of you cuddle. He holds you lazily and mumbles into your shoulder blade about his day, and how happy he is to be alone with you finally. He mutters a few small praises and presses gentle kisses to your shoulders with a half smile once hes done- thanking you for listening. He also occasionally will fall asleep like this if you are sitting or laying down together.

Keji Akaashi:

Akaashi is a gentle lover, and his touch is always the same. He holds you with a gentle arm around you back holding you to his chest while you sit of lay down. He keeps his head either on top of yours or on your shoulder. Sometimes he grabs a book and reads aloud gently until you fall asleep and then decides to go to sleep with you after kissing your forehead and muttering a small "I love you darling... get some rest." He keeps his arm around your back as he drifts off, and runs his thumb in small circles as you listen to hin read. He shows you he loves you with every touch.

Kenjiro Shirabu:

Shirabu holds you to his chest by an arm around your back and a hand on the best of your head, messing with your hair a little as the two of you lay together. For longer haired partners he runs his hand through your hair, and for those with short or no hair he will massage your scalp a little. He presses kisses to your forehead and nose while he explains his day and how he was doing, asking you about yours once hes done. He feels closer to you this way, and loves to hear the small content noises you give him before you start your own rant about your day.

ADVENTURES OF NEKOMA’S TEAM MANAGER - RECRUITMENT

wc: 2811

you become the manager of nekoma high’s boy volleyball team... but against your will.

warnings: bullying, lev calls you dude, mild swearing, the reader is both slightly unhinged and hangs out with morally corrupt people

an: this is an introduction to a series i’m starting. it’s not necessarily a hq character x reader yet, but rather a collection of fics of what it’s like for nekoma to have an unhinged team manager.

you became the manager for nekoma’s boys volleyball team halfway into your 1st year at nekoma high

as surprising as it sounds, Lev is actually the one to recruit you

well not so much as recruit, but blackmail

you see, the friends you made when you first entered high school weren’t exactly friendly

they quickly realized how intelligent you were and would use you often by asking you for homework answers, getting favors from teachers, and even cheating off of you during tests

they would even bully other students in your class who they deemed ‘weird’ or ‘losers’

while you wouldn’t take part in actually shoving heads into toilets, pushing people in the halls, or intimidating your classmates into doing your classroom duties, you were just as guilty for not speaking up

but you also don’t want to be lonely

it seems like everyone has already found their places on the societal totem pole, and there’s nowhere for you to go but down

you tried joining a club a month into the school year, but your friends claimed they would be hurt if you were off spending time without them. falling for their guilt trip, you didn’t actually end up joining speech and debate

instead you would spend your afternoons walking around tokyo with them, buying things you couldn’t afford and pretending to be someone you weren’t

until one day when you’re running late for class and bump into a tree a really tall person in the hallway

“my bad,” the person blurts and bends down to help you pick up everything you’ve dropped. even hunched over and close to the ground this boy manages to tower over you

he notices that you have a lot of copies of the same sheet of paper, all filled out with slightly differently work, but the same answers. “hey why do you have other peoples’ homework?” the boy asks you, as he begins to look through each. none of them having the same name twice

“uh gotta go,” grab the papers from his hands. you register the name on his uniform: ‘haiba,’ and run to your class, barely making it in time

you don’t think about the encounter for the rest of the day, until lunch when you walk outside to the vending machines to get some strawberry milk

aside from the time you spend walking to and from class and at home, you don’t spend much time away from your friends. it’s overwhelming to constantly be around them, so you take extra long in front of the vending machine today.

until you feel a tap on your shoulder and turn around to see the boy from the hallway in front of you

“hey,” you say. although it comes out more like a question rather than a greeting.

“hey, so i was thinking,” the boy starts. “the reason you were running down the hallway with other peoples’ homework is because you stole them! which, as you should know, is an offense punishable by detention.” when he finishes speaking and waving around his finger, he grins madly at you, with a look on his face that makes it appear that he is quite proud of himself.

also, Lev talked to Inuoka about what happened this morning, which is why he’s saying this. not because he actually knows or remembers the school rules.

“are you gonna give me detention?” you scoff at him as your drink your strawberry milk.

“i can’t, but your teacher can and i can just tell them about it”

you almost retort with ‘and why would they believe you,’ but you decide against it.

you don’t actually know this boy or how credible he is. for all you know he’s some third year, or maybe even on student council. you don’t wanna provoke him in anyway, or give him any information alluding to how you did all of your friends’ homework for them. which you know is also a “punishable offense.”

you know that is the school were to find out about it, not only would you get detention, but you’d become a new target for your friends. they wouldn’t hesitate to make your life a living hell for the next two years.

“how can i buy your silence?” you ask

“you can become the manager of the boys volleyball team” he replies without missing a beat

you spit out your strawberry milk, which unfortunately lands on the lower part of his uniform shirt. however, you’re too taken back to apologize, because who is this guy? and why is he asking you to become a sports team manager?

he, however, is surprised and whines “dude!”

“dude? dude? did you seriously just ask me to be the team manager of the volleyball team?”

you stare at him incredulously. this doesn’t throw Lev off, and so he nods and says, “yeah, only for now, until we find someone more permanent. we have practice today after school in the big gym, so i’ll see you then!” and then he walks off.

totally forgetting to mention how Yamamoto said he’d buy any of the first years sushi if they found the team a manager

you stand there in front of the vending machines dumbfounded and completely out of strawberry milk before returning to class

at the end of the day you tell your friends that you have a “family thing,” and that you need to go home immediately after school. they don’t seem at all disappointed in your not being able to join them for terrorizing all of tokyo, but each give you a look of skepticism as they leave school for the day

you briefly debate actually going home and playing it off as if you forgot. but then you recall your worries about who this guy might be, and realize that he not only knows your name, but your class since he saw you run into it this morning.

not at all excited, you drag your feet to the gym. the sounds of chatter and running getting louder as you approach.

when you get there you stand near the open doorway to see about fifteen high school boys running laps around the gym. several of them are in conversation with each other. except for two boys. one who looks like he need to get his roots redone, who lags behind, and the leader of the group, who also had blonde dyed hair, and is mostly yelling motivating sentiments to himself.

you don’t get much time to linger near the doorway, because the boy from this morning, who you can’t miss because wow he looks really tall from afar, waves at you to come over and leaves the group, jogging towards you.

“hey l/n!” he calls out, with his voice echoing throughout the gym. you catch the attention of everyone else in the gym, many of which pretend not to be looking at you. with the exception of the boy who is still lagging behind. he looks like he is too focused on trying not to pass out.

“hi uhhh,” you fail to recall the name you saw on his uniform this morning.

“you can call me Lev,” he tells you as he ushers you towards the benches. you try to keep up with his large strides, which means you must look like you’re doing something like a jog.

by the time Lev sops walking you’re more out of breath than he is. as you catch your breath, you look up to see two older men in tracksuits smiling warmly at you.

“you must be l/n-san. Lev mentioned you’d come by to try out and apply for the manager position. i’m Coach Nekomata and this is Coach Naoi!” the shower man tells you.

you just give him a nod and polite greeting, because you’re hoping this afternoon goes smoothly until you get out of there.

not long after, the rest of the team finishes their laps and comes over to drink some water and take a breather

it looks like Coach Nekomata is about to address the group, but before he can start speaking Lev jumps in. “guys, this is l/n-san! they’re gonna be our new manager!”

you quickly catch on that the teem has been looking forward to having a team for quite some time. most of them had an expression between excitement and disbelief.

Coach Nekomata clears his throat to regain the attention of his team.

“yes l/n-san is here to apply for the team manager position. please look out for them and treat them with the kindness you treat each other with.”

“you guys are supposed to be nice to me?” -Lev being ignored

the entire team turns to you, and despite you wanting to be anywhere but here you introduce yourself. “hi. i’m l/n y/n. i’m a first year here. i don’t really know much about volleyball, but i will do as much as i can to be of help!”

‘for today,’ you finish in your head. because Lev did say this was temporary, but from the way he introduced you and from Coach Nekomata’s words you get the impression that everyone expects you to hang around for some time

after everyone stops staring at you like you’re a unicorn, coach dismisses them to do drills or something. you don’t really pay attention to that part.

Coach Naoi takes you on a tour around the gym.

he shows you the storage room and tells you how things get cleaned and put away, he shows you where the sinks to refill the water bottles are, he shows you the entrance to the locker room, but does not take you inside, he shows you where the weight room is, and most importantly he shows you where the manager clipboards and other equipment is.

then he explains the various responsibilities that come with being team manager. it sounds like tough work if you’re being honest, and the early morning practices certainly don’t sell it.

the tour and introduction to the position take up most of the practice time. you can barely manage to fill up the water bottles by the time the team is done practicing.

you’re taken back when all of the boys each thank you for doing so for them, as they take some time to rest before cleaning up.

Coach Nekomata addresses the team and reminds them of practice tomorrow afternoon which you think you also need to be there for...)

i mean Lev did tell you this was temporary, so you’re unsure when will be a good time for you to stop pretending to be team manager

when the coaches leave, you begin to clean up with the rest of the team. you’re quickly taken back by the fact that everyone is helping out. you know that some of them should be second and third years, so why they weren’t leaving all the work to the first years was confusing to you.

“hi l/n-san!” another really tall boy approaches you

his hair really throws you off, not because he’s also blonde (because he isn’t, he just has black hair), but because it looks messy as it almost covers one eye. ‘it really suits him,’ you think to yourself.

“i’m Kuroo. captain of the team,” he introduces himself. before you can reintroduce yourself and tell him that it’s nice to meet him too, he continues “thanks for taking on the manager position. a lot of us gave up on the hope that we’d get one a while ago. i speak for the rest of the team when i say that we hope you stick around!”

with that he walks away to help another one of the boys take down the net

gradually members start to leave. you were told to lock up today, so you leave last.

however, when you’re finally ready to go, you see Lev standing near the door with three other boys. you walk towards them, because you need to tell them to get their butts out so you can lock up.

Lev is sporting a huge smile, which looks more devilish than the friendly smiles you get from the other boys

“hey l/n,” Lev starts. “i feel like i should propetly introduce myself. i’m Haiba Lev from class 3.”

“i’m Inuoka So from class 1!” the boy with tall, brown hair tells you. you realize from standing so close to them that Inuoka is actually quite tall. it’s just Lev’s height that makes anyone appear short next to him.

the other two boys introduce themselves as “Shibayama Yuki from class 4″ and “Tamahiko Teshiro from class 6.”

you go to introduce yourself again, but Inuoka cuts you off by saying, “we heard Lev tackled you in the hallway and now you have to be our team manager. we’re sorry about him.”

“hey!” - Lev

you laugh as you lock up the gym. “today wasn’t too bad. it was nice watching you guys play, although i don’t know much about volleyball.”

“it’s okay, neither does Lev,” Shibayama jokes.

“Hey!” -Lev

once you’re all done laughing at Lev’s expense, Lev tells you that they are gonna go get taiyaki before heading home. “do you wanna come along?” he asks you.

you almost roll your eyes at them, thinking they’re just teasing you or messing with you. your terrible friends have conditioned you to believe that people don’t just want you for your company. that everyone has ulterior motives.

however, you realize that it’s a genuine offer when you take in the looks of all the boys. they all seem sincere in wanting you to come along with them.

“are you sure i’m not intruding?” you ask

“not at all! first year solidarity!” Inuoka pumps his fist in the air, which is followed by a chorus of ‘yeahs’

hestitantly you nod your head and follow them along to the store. you really didn’t expect to be hanging out with members of the volleyball team after one practice as their manager, but you can’t say you’re not thrilled at the idea of making friends with people that aren’t planning to beat someone up.

once you all arrive at the bakery and get your taiyaki, you manage to find a table outside to sit and eat.

the boys ask you basic getting-to-know someone questions. ‘what’s your favorite color?’ ‘have you seen the new season of Stranger Things?’ ‘do you think you could take a bear in a fight?’ etc.

having fun with them distorts your perception of time, and when you realize that it has gotten dark out you all bid each other your goodbyes and return home.

that night when you’re getting read to go to bed, your mind is filled with the events of the day. you hadn’t expected to have as much fun as you did watching the team practice, or getting to know the first years, or feel fulfillment from the team thanking you for doing the manager duties.

the next day at school, you spend the entire day contemplating whether or not to go back to the gym

really the only con that comes to mind is that you might lose the only people who refer to you as their friend, and might even become another target of theirs

however, as you walk through the hallways between periods or on your way to the vending machines, several of the volleyball members, many of which you don’t remember the names of, greet you

one of them, yaku, who you learn is a third year, sees you on his way to deliver some papers to the teachers office and even strikes up a conversation with you

at the end of the day, when you really have to make a decision, your friends tell you that they’re gonna go to the mall. after having ditched them yesterday, you go to follow them.

you figure you’ll just return the gym key tomorrow to Coach Nekomata or Coach Naoi and explain that you won’t be coming back

you quickly gather your things as your friends wait for you to go, when you hear your name being called

Looking up you see Lev, Shibayama, Tamahiko, and Inuoka standing by the door, all with bright smiles looking back at you

“are you coming to the gym?” Lev asks you

you turn to see that your friends are confused by the situation. one of them looks at you with a rather nasty scowl and a raised eyebrow, almost asking you to explain.

but you don’t. instead you gather your things and tell your friends, “sorry, i have other plans,” and dash out of the classroom with the boys, towards the gym

you’ve known the nekoma boys volleyball team for about 24 hours now, but you’ve come to find solace in the blooming friendships you share with them

Are you playing volleyball these days?

Yaku Morisuke: I am. [Previous question was about current occupations, which I’m not including since they’re mostly the same, but it was revealed that Yaku now plays for Orzeł Warszawa!]

Kai Nobuyuki: I often go to live matches.

Fukunaga Shouhei: I sometimes play around.

Yamamoto Taketora: Trying my best to.

Haiba Lev: I just recently played for a variety TV show! [Lev’s current occupation now includes actor / performer.] And sometimes I go to live matches!

Inuoka Sou: I often play with the kids that I care for, with a soft volleyball.

Shibayama Yuuki: I work at it daily.

Teshiro Tamahiko: I don’t play, but I go to live matches.

so so in love with the idea that like. kuroo is THE person you go to when you need help with something and don't know how to get help for it, especially with the nekoma high underclassmen. bc like. obviously his third-year classmates have seen him arguing with yaku and needing kai to reel him in and being an absolute dork and nailing every single test they've ever taken, so THEY think he's just this huge nerd-jock who gets into stupid squabbles and maybe kinda looks cool when he's playing, and that's it!! that's all they know about him!!

but then like. you have kenma, who is kuroo's best friend, and you have lev, who really really looks up to kuroo, and then you have tora and fukunaga and inuoka and shibayama and teshiro (even though yaku will always be shibayama's favorite, shhhh), and it's just. they KNOW. they know what kuroo is like! they know how well he takes care of people! they know he does EVERYTHING he can to make a connection!! they know he'd give them his entire effort if they asked! so when they hear about classmates who need help with, like . . . maybe it's tutoring, maybe someone is being an asshole and they want it to stop, maybe they need to find a part-time job, but it could be literally ANYTHING and the nekoma high vbc second and first years are like "hey, lemme ask my captain and get back to you!!" and it WORKS. the problem always gets solved, the day is saved, and the whispers start to spread.

and so kuroo "let your old captain look cool sometimes, too" tetsurou gains this whole reputation for being the upperclassman you can count on no matter what kind of problem you're having, because how could he deny anyone the chance at connection like the one he was granted all those years ago???
