Had circumstances been just a little different, Anne Boleyn might still have lived. Had she produced a son, Jane would have been a passing distraction, Anne's enemies would have been silenced, and her fiery character might again have seemed, at least at times, beguiling to Henry. During the course of their brief marriage, which lasted just over three years, there had been many fluctuations. After the final miscarriage, Anne fought back, saying she had been frightened by Henry's accident, but also broken-hearted at his paying attention to another woman. #'never' is doing a lot of heavy lifting/ obfuscating here lol#(it's traditionally thought that she never had harsh words about bessie blount-- and indeed there's no record of this--#although elizabeth blount's primary biographer has said that she had no court presence after the birth of henry fitzroy suggests a frosty#dynamic... just about the elevation of fitzroy#however there's the hastings drama)#also 'her enemies would have been silenced' is overly simplistic#unpopular queens having sons might have reduced overt hostility#but it didn't annihilate it. more realistically might have 'bridled' her enemies#and yet i still find this excerpt compelling so . here we are#lucy wooding#last part of sentence 2 tho...eminently plausible#prior to this storms always melted into sunshine . stormclouds gathered on the horizon and storms began again. then repeat.#and as reviled as the assertion 'genuine love-match' has been as of late. there is evidence which supports it .#would jane have been a passing distraction? again we don't know. their periods of 'royal mistress' (although there needs to be a better ter#maybe...object of king's affections?) are different in that there is only record of anne's in hindsight via cavendish etc#and also in their actions. in 1526 there was no royal watcher that believed the withdrawal of one of the queen's ladies was significant#in 1536 there was one who believed jane's meetings with henry were highly significant and they proved to be...#altho as wooding underlines here they proved to be mainly due to circumstance#it's not to say there weren't discussions behind closed doors of anne becoming queen among the boleyns circa 1526. but they were not known#and wouldn't have been guessed due to lack of precedent

I just noticed something
Hazbin Hotel has a large main cast.
But they managed it to make me like every single one of them?
Charlie screams naive Disney princess. But she has her own issues to face, she feels anger when lied to and can lose it.
Vaggie is the stormcloud to Charlies sunshine. Overprotective. But her past haunts her and she has to accept it.
Angel Dust seemed like the usual joke character that tells all the sex joke. When he actually deals with so much and copes with it in an unhealthy way and learns to unlearn those because he has reason to live for tomorrow now.
Husk was the standard grumpy character. When in actuality he had everything, was one of the highest. Until he made choices he can't take back and now he's at rock bottom. But that doesn't stop him from helping and listening to others.
Sir Pentious was the joke antagonist, not meant to be taken seriously. But he grew self confidence through those people and proofed that redemption is possible.
Nifty, again, joke side character, who has one motif. But she's not annoying. She always comes at the best of times to protect the people she cares about. Even if it is unintentional.
There were so many theories surrounding Lucifer. And then it was revealed that he is depressed, doesn't know how to actually talk to his daughter, seems to have no idea what actually happens in hell. He is so defeated. But his daughter shows him that there are so many things wirth fighting for and dreams are worthy.
Alastor was a fun character to begin with because he's so mysterious. But now we get bits and pieces of him interacting with other characters, him starting to lose that oh so dear control and it is interesting to see it all break down in those little moments only to fall back into the mask

...i was enchanted - neuvillette, kazuha, xiao, cyno, kaeya
people pass in a blur all the time, stored in memories in the back of their mind. faces vague, conversations hazy. they weren’t necessarily important, strangers after all. so, what would be different with you? a passer-by, another person saying a kind ‘hello’ as you momentarily cross paths, another person holding another conversation.
the conversation ends.
and how he wished he knew what was coming.
addicting or enchanting? or both, with a slight knowing smile?
so different and so interesting, he got lost within the words exchanged. mind whirling, holding a facade of utmost cool and tranquility onto dear life.
…i don’t want this to be a memory.
he wanted it to be more than that. he didn’t know what just yet, but he knew he didn’t want to forget you.
…i knew it wasn’t just a coincidence - lyney, zhongli, kaveh, albedo, childe
fate, he believes. such a blessing couldn’t have been a mere coincidence. coincidences can be suspicious; he knows all too well. besides, he’s positive you and the word ‘suspicious’ could never be mixed together. perhaps lightheartedly, but from first impressions, you were sunshine in human form, warming and lighting the atmosphere unknowingly. it’s deathly contagious, he notes. the smile hasn’t left his lips ever since you decided to sit beside him, draping the atmosphere in comforting silence, broken only occasionally by a spark of sudden ramblings he’d be more than delighted to engage in.

though he’s the type of person to mind his own business, that doesn’t make him invulnerable to curiosity and its facets. it can be dull, something that could be quenched with a textbook, or something irritating, similar to an aggressive pull towards something. or specifically, someone.
it’s not you that he’s irked at. it’s what you’re doing to him. and what's worse, you’re not even doing anything wrong. plainly, he’s quite clueless. he wants to know why. why does he feel like all he wants is to know you? like, know know you. everything written on that pretty face that he’s so attached to. how effortlessly you grab his attention, how you flood his dreams like stormclouds in a drought, bringing back the life in him. explanations needed, asap.

wednesday hates enid's music and enid hates silence, and somehow they come to a compromise
or:
two nerds in love who don't know how to express themselves so they use music

It’s still just as horrible and it makes her ears bleed (she wishes it was literally, because then maybe she could drown the sound out with blood, but alas) but there is something different in the songs. She isn’t sure what it is at first, but finally Enid puts on what was very clearly a cover of a song that she loved.
It’s also leagues… mushier… than the original.
Enid hums along under her breath, and Wednesday pauses in pulling her socks up to analyze the lyrics. The voice is still feminine, but instead of Romeo take me it says Baby just take me. It’s a small change, but significant enough to alter the song.
Wednesday has heard Love Story blasting through the stereo enough times that it’s nearly drilled into her skull, much to her chagrin, and this is definitely not how it goes.
Interesting.
The playlist continues with Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters, and Wednesday relishes the break in sappiness.
Enid finishes the last touches of her makeup just as the song ends, and Wednesday watches her pop her lips to fully incorporate the color on them before she turns to Wednesday with that too-bright, too-chipper smile.
“See? Not so bad, right?”
Wednesday slips her other shoe on and arches a brow. “If I didn’t know you genuinely like that cacophonous rubbish, I would assume you’re trying to give me a lobotomy without touching me.” Enid grimaces, and Wednesday pauses, before adding, “However, I did appreciate the ability to hear my music as ambient noise.”
