i am eating this color pallete like a hungry little goblin.
i used to be a big fan of fairy tail (it was the first anime series i started watching when i was in middle school). i admit that rewatching it now, it is an objectively flawed series in many ways. however, something i always wondered when i was younger was “why isn’t erza jacked as hell? she’s debatably stronger than natsu”

Annie lifted her own hand and interlocked their pinkies. Hitch tugged on them for a moment, making sure the lock was tight, secure.
This felt so much bigger than everything else, every other promise they’d ever made. They’d see each other again, their hands sealed it into existence. Not even someone like Annie would dare to break a promise like this, a promise of lovers under the stars.
There was still so much she wanted to say, but Hitch knew how much Annie loved the quiet so she kept it all in her heart. Maybe she'd write it all in a letter someday. Maybe Annie would finally write back.
The boat was too far, she could no longer hear the roar of the engines, the creaking of the metal panels against the waves. The figures on the deck were now a silhouette in the sun, she couldn’t tell which one was Annie anymore.
Hitch stood at the docks, the salt-water air tugging at her air, tugging at her heart. Hitch stood at the edge, the tips of her boots pressed as far as they could be without slipping off. She stood watching the love of her life leave- letting her leave.
And for better or for worse,
Hitch waits.
